Having a lovely afternoon, went with Jumbo to Otane where the local ladies always have a Queens Birthday Craft Exhibition, always lovely things to see and buy of course. The raffles are great and this year there is a loo with really neat green mosaic tiles etc as a prize and Jumbo really would love to win that, bother should have made a photo of it to show it to you girls.
I bought a pair of sheepskin slippers to keep my feet warm. Now I better get back into my room and do some more work, have slacked enough already today.

Evening all,
Lovely soup coalie..
I spent the arvo changing L's bedroom around, he was that excited he climbed into bed and went to sleep for an hour, gave me a chance to put the spare book case/shelve things in my room to put some sewing stuff in..have them half full already..got rid of the desk i had in there, it was no good, not sturdy enuff, a bit old and not worth giving away so i attacked it with a hammer !!
Nice to hear you are on the road to recovery carol.
Time to chill out now before the movie starts later..

I've been quilting! (*Drommy puffs up with pride*) And I've been very careful and precise and I've been pressing all the seams carefully, and it's great fun! I've done nearly eight of 48 blocks so I'm not quick, but it's looking fantastic! Looking forward to getting stuck back into it tomorrow!

Lovely colours. Will load a photo up when it's done!

Hope you're all having a lovely evening.

Sigh...woke up at 6 this morning planning my next moves on the quilt...didn't want to get up and get started because the noise might have woken my slum landlady, so just lay there twitching for a while.

It really is addictive.

And now the slum landlady is up so off I go!

drommy - 2012-06-04 09:24:00

drommy, you just have to make your slum lady addicted too that way she will join you. Then when you come home we can all talk the same language, hehehehehe.

Need match sticks to keep my eyelids open for at least another two hours, friendly landlord & his lovely wife are coming for a visit. ( they are a great couple) have joined 12 - 4x4 blue & green blocks this morning & also my red work blocks. I am in two minds with the blue & green top at the moment think it needs to have green sashing between the blocks. Finished with a dark blue border & green binding!!!!!!

Well, I did take a photo but then my camera ran out of batteries before it could load onto the computer - perhaps tomorrow! I didn't get as much done as I was planning, but that was mainly because I had to unpick a bit because the whole 'right sides together' thing apparently confused me, and then I got cross, and then I got distracted by lunch and come dine with me (Jumbobon, it turns out we had taped Saturday's episode - phwoar! Weirder than most! Carol was very gassy, wasn't she!). So now I've done 24 of 48 blocks, and I've had to pack things away for the week. (During the week I get home at six at the earliest, and by the time we've cooked and eaten and done dishes and chatted and (let's be honest) probably played a game or two of quiddler it's pretty much bed-time. But on the plus side, I'm waaay quicker now, and I reckon by the end of Saturday I'll have all the blocks done and I'll be part-way through the sashing too!

The cats are distinctly unimpressed with this new hobby of mine (in the absence of quilty photos, a couple of bonus kitty photos are attached). They'd much rather my hobby was making pate and feeding it to them.

Can't imagine why...or maybe that's how she refers to the Goody Goody Two Shoes Rion? I'm sure she will put me right!

Well, Ma, Rion is Magical Cat Jesus, and I wanted to call the kitten The Baby Jesus but was told it was inappropriate. Other Christmassy names were suggested, including 'Hohoho'. But I live in Lower Hutt, if I stood on the porch and called him I'm not sure what would turn up!

The pieces are veeeeery basic! My camera's charging today so you'll see just how basic they are tonight-ish.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning all and welcome back liz and to read that you have been very busy. When your children are little it's really hard to find some time for yourself.
We had a lovely get together, was great getting to know each other and put faces to names.
In the meantime I have had a new kitchen, which is nearly finished and I have been busy stitching and knitting. As the Dude has been overseas for a while there has not been a lot of entertainment in our house or going out for dinners.
Sad time was had when my SIL in passed away from Leukaemia at the age of 59. Other then that it's work, family and housework, not that I do a lot of that. Was nearly tempted to buy more fabrics from the Fat Quarter Shop, but when it came to the postage I deleted it all again, where some good bargains there though. Better go as I am still not dressed. Have a great day.

skippie1 - 2012-06-05 11:20:00
34245

Well talk about busy...I have stitched all the darks, mixed up gallons of dye ready for the next dyeing spree and now I had better clean this house. Have put the woollens in the sink to soak while the machine buzzes away and then can put them through the spin cycle.
Liz...our kids were born in 72, 73, 75 and 77 so I know how hard it is to do anything when they are small. I used to put a playpen up for me to sit in! I could do a bit of my stuff and keep good tags on what they were up to at the same time. It didn't happen often but when it did it was sooooo nice.
Better get this house clean...or at least tidy...in case of visitors!!!
Happy 80th to twi's Mum. I bet you are a livewire like your daughter!

jumbobon - 2012-06-05 11:51:00

34247

Hey all, have a wonderful time with my sis last week and as usual the visit went by far too fast. Unfortunately during her visit I got a letter in the mail from my property manager saying my landlord is putting our house up for sale :(
I now have 2 choices, move out into a place where I could have a longish lease but the house just doesnt quite feel right even tho it is as cute as a button and an ideal location still
or staying put and seeing what happens with the sale and trusting the property manager to look after us and find us a nice new place to live if we end up having to move. The anxiety of it all is doing my head in a bit with not knowing what the right desicion to make is, and worst of all I had to pack away my 'creative space' so the house is suitable for open homes etc and I have lost my creative mojo :((
If I was in a position to buy a place of my own, I would in a heartbeat. It would be nice if it was possible to win lotto without having to fork out for a ticket lol

ness315 - 2012-06-05 12:10:00

lol ness win lotto without a ticket now that would be fabo.
Hope you make a decision soonish. You can always change the feeling of a house by changing the energies of it. Best of luck.
