You do not need more fabric, would love to see all of your stashes. Forgot to say I did go to the quilt show in Hamilton and the quilts were amazing, makes me green with envy, such amaing work. The stalls were great but fabric was so expensive.

Morning to you all on this very crisp morning, there was a -6 frost here and the water pipes from the tank to the pump are frozen, so can 't even make a cuppa for you. It's nice outside though, the sun is luvly and the air is so fresh.
Joy did you make any pictures at the quilt show that you can show us.?
I will just have to wait for someone to make me breakfast and a cup of tea.

Thanks coallie, got stuck into my sewing room. I will come past on my yellow bird and bring you a new sink plug, you sure you didn't hide it so you avoid doing the dishes, hehehe clever I must try that. Better go and have some lunch I seem to running late with everything.
Must say it's very quiet in here today, wonder where they all are.

Oh good...I haven't been on here all day, and nor had I heard from skippie, so now I can relax!
Skippie! What a ding dong! You should have gate crashed this place for a cuppa!
Gave GS an early birthday present today. He will be 11 on Tuesday but seeing as it's a long weekend...his Dad erected the rugby goalposts today...and the wee one is over the moon. Now he wants lights so that he doesn't have to go inside so early....

jumbobon - 2012-06-02 18:29:00
34167

give him the lights jumbo You can use them for sewing at nght also. esp in the summer when it would be cooler outside.
Me has been busy all day also.
started the apples at 9ish this morning Finished box one at 1.30pm. then let it cool and now have a nice BIG apple pie Plenty for all.

34168

Thank you jumbo, but I was not dressed when I really needed that cuppa. Couldn't shower you see, no water and I do not feel right all day if I don't shower in the morning, all was well when the sun warmed the pipes.
Oh Happy Birthday GS, I bet he is over the moon with his gift, he was sooooo wanting Rugby goalposts. Going to be another cold night, down to 3 dg already.

dilli thank you for the apple pie it is just hitting the right spot. Finished the red & green quilt today label to be added if & when. Went to a garage sale & bought two lots of single sheets ideal for backing plus some fabric for my stash. Will now be able to make a start on completing another two quilts. Have good evening everyone.

**Happy Birthday** for tuesday Jumbo's GS :) wow goal posts oooh that is fun, you will play too wont you Jumbo, so definately need lights you can go play when you cant sleep.
i have been playing with the quilt squares, now it has raw edged words sewn on some squares and it will be disappearing 9 patch but also raggie, um dont think theres anything else i can do to them LOL
yum apple pie Dilli, thats the biggest apple pie i have ever seen mmm smells soooo good :)
Skippie hope you have some water in the fridge or somewhere for 1st thing in the morning, no cuppa 1st thing would be the worst :(
Holly whew glad you finally got home at least you have the fabric YAY.

Well...it is pretty cold outside alright. I have to admit that I have been a lazy wench today...had an iffy belly so just laid low most of the day. The cats have been fun though. Brooke chases and kills every dead leaf on the property...even hides in the flax ready to pounce. Tabitha is a talker. I ask her how beautiful she is and she always answers with that chirruppy sound they make... so very cute!
Lights for sewing outside? I don't think it would work. Vivre, Harry and Wills have 'helped' all afternoon with the erection of the goalposts. Vivre was especially helpful...even tried eating the bolts and now the measuring tape has a couple of chewed bits in it...so I think my fabric would have no chance of surviving!

Hi everyone. I have just finished slashing my chenille quilt. Tomorrow i hope to bind it. Is it best to cut binding on the bias or across the width of the fabric? I am almost tempted to go and buy binding cos I cant wait to get this quilt in the washing machine and all fluffed up:o)

wee5 - 2012-06-02 20:56:00
34176

but Wee if you wait to buy binding that will be longer to wait till its washed, i just cut the width of fabric off the end, its not on the bias but i think it is sposed to be. mine are ok they havent gone funny.
Skippie will know tho what the right way is. Please show pic when done.
edited spelling ;)

We, that is daughter, jumbo and I have been in the sewing room all evening, was going to stitch the last pattern on the quilt and my machine has thrown a hickkie and doesn't want to do what I need it to do. So have to put my thinking cap on, but it's to late in the evening for my brain to work.
Wee, the binding you make yourself out of fabric for the quilt will last a lot longer then bought bias binding. Cut straight or on the bias makes no difference, it's all what your prefer working with.

Goodnight from me. I know it's late but I have had a cat sitting on my knee and I have loved it...I didn't want to put her off so I waited until she was ready. See you in the morning...And sleep well!!!!
