Well done dilli, new new page, see how long it takes us to fill these.
Good to read that you enjoyed the show, years ago we went to an Irish Dance show here in Hastings, no not Riverdance, but that show was great as well, so much fun, but great skilled dancers.
Daughter and I are going to the Home and garden show today, will be nice to see what new stuff is there to get our money out of our wallets.
The sun is out so looks like another nice day. Have fun.

Just got home, stayed at daughters for a while as she was quilting. Show really wasn't much to talk about, was all heating, aircons, shower domes, very expensive shoe inserts if you have flat feet and the usually eating place. We were in and out of there in 45 min so we had then excuse to go to the quilt shop, was far more interesting.

Twi, DH knows all about him & knows that there is nothing to be jealous off. He is the one person I had to go & say goodbye to when I left home to come to NZ.

ness that is so true, it took a long time for me to move on & I think I may have married my first husband for all the wrong reasons. But that is the past & I look forward to hearing about his life & hopefully his family.

Hello nice thready folk! Hope you're all well - I haven't been here for AGES so have missed loads of gossip.

So today I bought a quilty kit from a shop in town, and I plan to get immersed in it over the next few days. It's ridiculously easy for those of you who are experienced, but for me (who can barely recognise a sewing machine from a lineup) it'll be a challenge! Will share photos when it's done.

And hello jumbobon! We haven't talked for AGES - we will phone you this week! Tomorrow night (Monday) we'll be waving our pelvis' around at Zumba, but Tuesday night we should be home! (I'm dreadful at Zumba. I look like I'm having some sort of seizure, I'm hopeless.) Wee Rion's foot seems better than it was but not perfect. He's due back at the vet in about a week, so will see if he needs another course or not. Hopefully it'll come right!

Edited to add the apostrophe to pelvis - Katy and I will be waving our respective pelvis' around and it would be weird to have a collective pelvis.

Well good evening Drommy stranger, nice to read that we have sucked you into quilting. If everyhting is correct jumbobon should be sewing her 9 patches and wonky stars and must say those blocks are looking gorgeous.
Do tell us what kind of pattern and fabric you have bought, I would love to know.

skippie1 - 2012-05-27 23:20:00
34035

Hello Skippie! Cuddles to those marvellous kitties of yours. (We still haven't acquired an i-pad but Katy's getting one through work!)

It's a balinese log cabin quilt (Don't know if that means anything to anyone! Lots of colourful batik-y fabrics, very symmetrical but I liked the pikkie of it!). I suspect that's a very easy design, but the perfect way for a dunce like my good self to learn some transferable skills! I'm pretty sure that with some care I'll be able to get a fair-to-middling result, and that'll encourage me to get an even better result!

Jumbobon - how did you go with the wonky stars? Wonky is so unlike you! (Snigger...)

drommy, Love log cabin but requires very precise sewing to keep the block square.
The wonky stars are deliberately stitched wonky that way you do not have to make sure you are cutting the point of the stars of when assembling the quilt top. There is method in the madness.
My cats rule this house but I love them.

Good morning merry sunshines! 20 degrees today...and I am spending it in a classroom! Still, it will be fun...it is at the intermediate unit and I hardly ever go there. I spend most of my time at the high school...looking forward to doing some wearable arts...the current unit of work.
Yes drommy...I have stitched another 14 nine patch blocks and only have five more wonky snigger stars to do...after school should see those done. BTW...why the snigger?? I am a good upright citizen!
Have a great day everyone...especially b with her exciting news...

Morning all, another day has dawned and it's warm outside it's rather strange. Memories are lovely that makes us who we are.
Yes B, met my Dude when I was 3 months short of 15 yrs old, much to the chagrin of my now In laws. But life goes on and we are still together 44 yrs later.
But we immigrated to NZ in 1972 and we really love this country, oh that makes it 40 yrs this years this October.
Have all a great day but most of all, have fun.

dilli, put the dog outside and leave it there while you are sewing.
I have the same with the cats but they are not allowed in my sewing room, so they sit by the door and complain, Max sits on the roof of my car so he can see in what I am doing. They can go in the house, but no they just stare at me when I am sewing.

Lovely 5am wake up call gee thanks mother nature I have an alarm clock already! my poor girl gets such a fright with the bigger shakes. took us ages to get back to sleep and then we almost slept in. The house is nice and tidy now and ready for our houseguest this week.
