Yes, we are members of the same Country Music Clubs. I see them quite often and have known them about 10 years. :) Nice people.

Very nice people... I was surprised when I heard they had moved up country. Didn't think Taranaki would be the same without their Eltham concerts etc.
They were both excellent promotors too.

Right I better get back to the needles and hook lol

Yes Gsue I am a 100% except for the reason why Knatty Knitters was started as you all know. But that was just being unaware and niave as usual. I have really great feedback too because I always love to give people an extra little gift in their parcel. I am waiting for my answer with unbridled curiosity. Sound like a horse. Speaking of horses, I want to knit one for 2claws.

Me too Popeye....A Babies Matinee for me to get back to....my no2 daughter is pregnant with no.2 Grandie (due August).....so I have a "to do list" as long as my arm and the chance to knit for a "winter baby"!!
And what are we in New Zealand....separated by 2degrees (we know someone who knows someone... as opposed to 6 degrees for the rest of the world.

She had two auctions for gollies popeye, the one I bidded on was withdrawn so you are/were watching the other one. I'm disappointed but that's life. But in disappointment, comes a challenge. Might have a go at designing my own. I design my own embroidery so no reason why I can't do this :P.

Had a mixed up sort of day today, got cross stitch and knitting done. Just have the ends to sew in for Maddy's wee cardy, I'm not 100% happy with it but I refuse to unpick it as all I seem to be doing lately is unpicking lol. It will be fine once I put some pretty girly buttons on it.

You had a nice cool day for spring cleaning carole, hope you got it all or at least most of it done. Been wearing a jumper and slippers all day! Where's summer gone?

Happy knitting :)

Armin -I am a kiwi through and through just over here for a year or two to help out with my 13 year old granddaughter -the message board on ebay is nasty
Had a lovely day up in the mountains even though it was blardy hot -cooler in the orchards -picked some lovely plums and peaches -royal gala $7.99 kg -didn't get too many of those as you can imagine -but the orchards that didn't get destroyed in the bush fires had a lot of their blossom destroyed by the smoke along with their bees so I don't mind supporting their higher prices -driving through the burnt acre after acre of bush smacks you in the face how close it came to some houses that are still standing but the next door house is just a pile of rubble -had lunch at a lovely little cafe -they had a lovely orchard and were well known for jams and pickles but the fire destroyed everything right up to their back door -still think earthquakes are worse at least you usually have time to get away from a fire
Interesting the gollywog pattern kerfuffle -I used to go to Jill Maas cloth doll classes -she was very comfortable with her pattern being used for selling dolls as long as you didn't reprint her pattern
Still very hot here -dog has been down to the river for a swim -poor old cat is really feeling the heat

Well it's been cooler here, so cool that while I was out on the deck with hammer and chisel in hand, working on the cockpit coaming, I had to stop and find an old hoodie to wear. The earlier bowsprit repairs are almost complete and with a coat of paint you'd never know they've been done. Hope Mr K can make as good a job of my current chisellings. Then once that is done, we can load the food, guitar, and cat, and cast off. (Might need to pack some more wool and extra patterns - just in case - I'd hate to run out of knitting while I'm away) I seem to have been saying that for weeks. The flipping lawns will need mowing again before we go.

I won't be knitting tonight, my wrists are too sore from all the chiselling, so I had better rest them. I'm also very tired, so I'll be having an early night I think. Fingers crossed for a fine day tomorrow, and we might get the repairs "sealed" so that they won't be at the mercy of the weather (even though the beans could do with a good dousing).

I'm very curious about the blacklisting saga. Wish I knew what's going on. I hate being in the dark. Someone please shed some light on the subject, please.

Happy knitting everyone.

It's the bit that sticks up around the cockpit where it joins the deck on the boat - I think that's the correct term for it, but I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

morning ladies :) Bit overcast today, I hope it's not going to be as chilly as yesterday. It is supposed to be summer!

Have a few things to do around the house and in town today and I should get some more stitching done. Also want to do some job hunting - have decided if I can't find full time teaching then I'll have to do something else. A year at home is enough.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Kuaka you will have earnt that holiday well and truly when you get to it. Id take extra wool etc too. SIL came away with her knitting, but she will run out of wool before she gets home. will have to buy more.
She doesn't have a huge stash like we do.

I found it nice yesterday being a couple of degrees cooler. but no cardy or slippers here. Going to be the same today I think. Its overcast.
Lawn boys are due. The road workers are on our corner too, so there will be noisy trucks.. but I hope they tar seal. Love the smell of tar... Strange I know lol.

I didn't get any knitting done last night in the end. I did another square for the blanket. And then ,cos I was having soo many massive birds nests in the wool , I sat there and pulled them undone and wound it on the wool winder I have had for years. Ive done a couple of balls of each. Will do more as I need it.

Putting it simply Kuaka. Armin went to buy a golly pattern. To find out she had been black listed. GMS went to buy it for her and was also blacklisted. Then Ixcelm8 tried as she had been trading with the seller previously and considered them to be friends.
She pulled one auction and Carole brought another one.
But basically no one could understand why they had been blacklisted.
And judging by Ixcelm8s message further up she is still waiting to hear from the seller as to why she did it. Was in fb as well.

Have a good day everyone

So true....... I now have 20 who call me grandma from 30 down to 6 and 13 who call me grandmasue with # 14 arriving in July.
I wanted to knit cradlebags for the current girls and Golliwogs for the boys....kind of as a legacy and I can knit ahead for when I can't. Having just had my cataracts fixed I am managing to knit black again..

Never mind I might just knit Mr Plod.

Morning -beautiful bright blue sky but going to get real hot -grandaughter stayed the night so will probably not get a lot of knitting done today -talked on FaceTime last night to my two grandchildren in napier -a girl 7 and a boy 9 -they showed me their finished doll blankets not a bad effort at least they finished theirs -they were over here a month of two ago and both picked it up really quick
Yes grandmasue -I thought your name was familiar -really enjoyed the wrinkles thread was a pity somebody set out to destroy it and did-I think my son had just had is weight loss surgery then -he has done 9 iron man events since then -

Some peoples black listing could have something to do with a thread started way back on 21/12/2012 entitled Christchurch knitted Noddy Soft Toy. A discussion on Copyright and an education followed a ladies request for a Noddy pattern. However I was not involved so I remain mystified and mifftofied.

That's right Gerry...so pleased that your son is doing so well and still doing his Ironman etc. I have a few friends who have had WLS some have coped really coped well and others have slipped back.
I do have email contact with a couple of *wrinklies* but not often.

I can't remember the Noddy thread *armin*

Looks like the weather is packing it in again so need to go out and pick up a few bits and pieces.
I have lost an old address book...thought it might have got in with my knitting patterns but so far no luck.

Good day all,
Tried to get on here twice yesterday but the "post message" label was missing - not sure why this happens but I seem to get it quite often but it's here today so all well. Went to see my sister instead and she was cleaning out a very overgrown bit of her garden so stopped to help her - why she chooses to do it when 30c I'm not sure!

Hope you find your book GMS, and that you finally get away Kuaka and have a restful holiday,
Had a good trip to Wellington got 2 puerperium cardies done while baby sitting but then the car developed a cough on the way home which made it a bit of a worrying trip, drove non stop from the Hutt as wasn't sure if it would start again if I actually stopped - seems to be related to the carburator so ok when actually moving. Off to the car doctor tomorrow just hope it's nothing big.
have a good day

I don't remember that thread either. Mind you if it was under CHCH section I wouldn't have seen it.

Love the orange wool Whiskey. What about a nice Snood or Cowl? Something that she can wear with many outfits? Plenty of free patterns for them.

Could be the petrol filter too Jayemtoo. Hope its something easy to repair.

The trucks have been tar sealing the street we live on the corner of. Yummm Love the smell of tar. Im strange I know lol.. if we were going along the road and got to roadworks the windows were down fast as. Mum liked it too lol

HAve a good time at work Whiskey

*popeye* are you old enough to remember Jeyes Fluid? It smelt tarry. We used to tip it down the long drop.

I know that we try to keep this thread to knitting so....*whiskey* I am currently knitting me an adults version of the little Shrugs that CaroleV has been knitting. I too rather like the orange but am currently knitting in Caramel.

I followed that thread too and it was pulled for a totally different reason that the blacklisting mention...in fact I think they ma have started up the hijacked thread again already....just the TM message board throwing their weight (as they think) about.
I have received the email from Pam....and have read and replied....lets just say, there is nothing evil or vindictive about the debacle...the coffee spilt rumour that went around is totally true and really was a straw that broke the camels back moment.
And I'm sure you all know what that moment can feel like!
I can say though Pam needs some good wishes sent her way at the moment, which I have sent via my email and I send again here.
I have to head out at the moment but will come back and add what Pam would like me to share with you.
Lets be the great "Crafty" board we all have been in the past and let by gones be by gones...send her some good wish vibes peoples.....

what a buggar spilling your coffee on your pattern, damed annoying and I can imagine the air would have been blue at the time.

I just need some girly buttons now to put on Maddy's wee cardy, done some stitching and should be outside in the garden, or at the very least helping MrK build our new BBQ area.

Happy knitting :)

Don't you just hate it when things get out of hand. Hope all is well now ellajac. we are a cruisy bunch in here and your welcome to stay in the chat with us.

Kiwimade just tell him to Holler if he needs you lol.. then go to the furtherest point away, so you don't have to hear him if you don't want to lol.

Ive knitted the second front for the cardy. And done a couple of squares. certainly a lot easier not having to stop and pull wool out of the centre of those massive 400grm balls.
Will do the sleeves later as its a short sleeve cardy. I don't think they will take long to do..
I too have to get buttons. And I want cute ones so have been looking on here. I don't have anything babyish in my stash I don't think.

Just brought a pattern book off here tho. One I used to have but sold when we gave up knitting.
What on earth possessed us to give up Im don't remember. But what a stupid thing to do lol.
It will not happen again lol

popeye333 - 2014-01-13 15:53:00
3386

Good wishes ellajac but I still don't understand why you black listed me.

armin59 - 2014-01-13 16:17:00
3387

Ok am bac...k I am simply going to copy and paste what Pam would like you all to know....and thank you guys for sending her your good vibes to her.
I know we all do really care for everyone and we all can seem to be saying things that are taken differently to others that read our chatter on here.
The thing is....the net is not the REAL world...its A world, and is a BIG world too, which allows so many things to seem what they really are not.
Pam is a talented crafts person and also quite a private one too...so we do need to respect her choices at the moment and her reasons too...
Anyway...here we are~
"Anyone on my blacklist has been put there over the years for what I deem to be a very good reason. Many I have not traded with but have taken exception to their comments on the message board. I frequently read through the threads."

The bottom line being...it is the sellers choice as to who they will and will not sell to. And we really must be aware that some things are best said in private and not brought to the boards for the "world" to see.

ixcelm8 - 2014-01-13 18:34:00
3388

That last paragraph was mine.
I was blacklisted for "telling people just to get another person to purchase the item for them"...that's just how I feel about blacklisting....its how I have dealt in the past with being blacklisted by a large trader on here, for reasons I don't know why. I meant Pam no harm.
I have a blacklist myself...and must admit I have no idea now why some people are on it!!!...and have removed some off it too when I deem it fit to do so. Others will remain there forever!! lol We all have our reasons.
So yeah.....that's all I can say really ;-)

ixcelm8 - 2014-01-13 18:43:00
3389

I don't have a blacklist, but I don't do many trades and my livelihood doesn't depend on it. Cheers.

Morning everyone. Still have our sw wind so its nice, not hot. Unfortunately it affects MrPs breathing so turns him into a grumpy bear.

The lawn boys came last night. They had been to a tangi. but wanted to get ours done for us on the day its due.

Did the second front and one sleeve yesterday, as well as a couple of squares for the blanket. So one sleeve and the band to do. Need to get some nice kids buttons.

Im not fond of air con. Cos as soon as you walk out of the house you hit the heatwave. Gonna be a big job getting rid of that plant tho Carole.

Have a good day everyone
