Through a website called freecycle I managed to score some fabric from a very nice lady. When I went to pick it up I thought maybe a few pieces or even a box full but look at how much I got! I almost cried with happiness and relief when I saw it. My girl has well and truely outgrown her old dressing gown and I had to get her a new one for this winter. With not working, I was worried about how I was going to pay for one but amongst all that fabric is a whole pile of sweatshirt knit stuff so I will be able to make a new "designer" dressing gown for my girl instead! yay...not to mention all the toys and quilts and clothes and and and lol.
I am just so grateful for the ladies generosity.
Now I am off to start making my girls birthday cake...shouldnt take too long, just a couple of choccy sponges and mock cream to do today, and then the icing and decorating with lollies tommorrow before the 10 pin bowling party.

it is a fantastic site jumbo! ive used it for years when I was living in the waikato and got into it again once i moved down to Chch. its a great way to get rid of those things you dont want or need anymore (one mans trash is another mans treasure lol) but I have also picked up some neat things too. things like some stuff to use for camping trips with the kids, a fish tank, and storage containers...but the emails offering fabric certainly do get my attention. Heck I have even managed to find long lost relatives through it purely by chance!

CONGRATS jumbo............. Took me ages also to learn that but Coalie kept trying/helping me.
Lovely books jumbo.
Been to bsb and ummmmmmmmmmmmm ended up with a shopping trolley full coming home. Won three auction (polar fleece) and then bought some more when I was there. Fabric that I REALLY REALLLLLLY REALLLLY NEEDED heheheheheheeeeeee

Fabric, what fabric, I really need some, NOT. but how can we resist buying a bargain.
Also a quick note that all will be very quiet from Jumbo's quarters, because when I was there, not sure what she pushed as she is SO quick with clicking the mouse and I think she has changed her setting somehow and now cannot get into anything, as I don't know what she did and it's not my computer I was loath to change anything. So Jumbo has to wait for Mutley to get home and FIX it, Just hope he can do it as it's always difficult to track back someone else trigger finger.

I don't know how...but I have found internet! All the icons have changed into e's...the bottom bar hasn't got on it what it should have and where is the mail? I sure don't know...but I will blame skippie!!!! She will be here for a cuppa soon so Muttley is going to give her some pretend strife. I can't wait!

Joy i only had a glance at the pattern, could you do it raw edge then you would only have to place the basket on the block and sew around the edge, you could stipple the whole quilt if you didnt think the raw edges were strong enough. just an idea :)

Skippie has gone home again...and Muttley blamed her for everything! It was so funny...poor skippie was getting it from all sides...but she can give as good as she gets so all is well. It would be nice to have the icons back, but at least we can just minimise ( or drop as Muttley calls it ) the programmes we most often use until someone who knows how to performs the unclicks that I clicked!!
