What a lot of gas bags you are lol.
Lovely and wet this morning, just the right day for sewing. I am going to sort out all my scraps and start a scrappy quilt, blame it on you Skippie. Hope to finish my other son's quilt today too

Good morning, raining here as well, not cold though. time for brekkie anybody coming to keep me company.
Joy you will enjoy scrapping, you can still have a bit of control, like no fabric with a white background, or no fabric with over colour like glitter, etc etc
I have another scrap quilt, this one
http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/61/216286661_full.jp
g

that has kinda shabby chic muted colouring with tiny roses but that basic pattern took a little more time to put together. But it's all fun and I love it.
Have all a great day stitching seen we have rain and can't do anything else.

Morning all...did anyone make breakfast? Tea and toast is here if anyone needs it...but please be careful coming in the door because there are two pussy cats dying to get outside to explore. They are supposed to be locked up inside for two weeks....I hope I can keep them in for that long. This wee house is a bit like a railway station with all the comings and goings! They are very happy and Brooke must be quite young because she leaps at shadows, chases her tail and attacks monsters from every angle. Tabitha is more subdued but has made herself quite at home. She likes muttley's chair to sit in during the day...maybe she'll sit on his knee at night?
Have a great day everyone. Pretty bleak here with peristent rain.

33366

heheheh coalie quicky sew ya raggy heheheheeeeeeee

I thinks you are right coalie but how would you work the square in the middle that would be some tricky sewing not to get that to pucker.or some of the two strips ....... I think it is an awesome quilt though.
morning tea cuppas being served and I have finally started the baking. phew it has taken quite a few attempts.

dilligaf_dah - 2012-05-09 11:02:00
33367

thanks for cuppa Dilli :)
you would sew 2 strips together, actually you would sew the 4 sets of strips together and then sew them around the square, joining the next set as you go, it wouldnt pucker :)
going very fast on the raggie now haha :)

33370

hello all, pleased to see that the quilt had you all guessing, but coallie got it alright, the first set of strips you sew on with a partial seam, then when the 4th strip has been sew around the centre you go back and finish the first partial seam. Centre piece was cut 2.5 inches, the strips are cut 1.5 x 5 inches, then you start sewing. Do a trial block first as it is a block that takes more time sewing and ironing as you go.

Oh bugger coallie running out of bobbin thread, not what you need when you have some many things you would like to do.
I went visiting today and saw Jumbo new fur babies, they are so cute. Brooke is very nosy and she came and sat with me, I even got my hand washed, whereas Tabitha never moved and decided to would keep on sleeping in her cosy house, they are going to be very spoiled cats, I just know it.
Afternoon tea time, coffee's going and tea for the tea drinkers.
