Osnaburg is like a more open weave calico - it has the lovely natural colouring that I like which looks great with bright and lovely clear colours. I thought I might use it for some little purses or zipped bags. I need to get creative because Mr 9 needs tutoring and it is $50 an hour - gulp!

Ok me has one BIG question re quilting.
normally you add 1/4 inch for seams is this the same for flannelete fabric as that frays a lot more that cotton. or would you make it 1/2 inch seam allowance.????????????????????-
??

Id stick with the 1/4 inch seams. thats what I did when i made that satin quilt that frayed when you just looked at it funny. but then I also ran a zigzag along the edges too just to save extra fraying.

Have been busy today creating some funky soft toys out of my stash. my boy was home sick from school today so I got him to help me design a friendly little monster. so far he looks like a bit of a devil but once I get the face done it should be a cutie. gotta keep busy while the quilts hit a stand still eh lol

whew Ness it will be the zigzag that has saved it, i made munchkin a flannel quilt with 1/4 " seams and the first wash alot of the seams pulled apart, i ended up stippling the whole thing to hold it together. then when i was reading some blogs it said flannel has to have the 1/2 " so then i realised that was what was wrong with the quilt. i usually make raggies with the flannel so hadnt realised.
anything nice for tea out there, here its get your own and id rather sew :)
thanks for info on the fabric Wee :)

Well folks, having a late tea as I have been busy, putting up another quilt which was kinda tricky. More will be revealed at a later date. Tomorrow I have to work so no stitching for me until we go to craft group.
Hope you are feeling better carol.
Wee. that is a lot of money, is there nowhere that can help with those kinda fees, how many sessions are required or is that something that you decide.

Love the comic strip Coalie. Hello carole:o)
Just back from Mr 12 's school PTA meeting. Looks like I am secretary for another year:o)
Skippie, Mr 9 needs at least 2 sessions a week plus occupational therapy and a developmental eye examination have been recommended. I have given the special needs co ordinator a copy of the report and I will meet with her later this week to discuss. I am hopeing that we might be able to get some help through the ministry of education but am expecting to be declined as we have been in the past.

33228

hey coalie, I havent finished their faces yet, need to pick up some felt for the eyes etc but nearly there. Have been using left over quilt batting (chopped up into smaller pieces) but it gives them a bit of a lumpy apprearance. Once its used up I might splash out and get some proper stuffing.

Guess what? I picked up two pussy cats from the SPCA this morning...and thought I had lost one of them this afternoon! Luckily she has found a dark and secret spot beside the computer...but I thought someone may have come in and let her out the door! Whew...
One is a long haired tabby and white whose name is Tabitha and the other is a short haired, small boned black with a wee white bib called Brooke. I thought I had lost Tabitha. I don't know whether we will keep those names or not...we'll see what happens. So I have had an awesome day. What about you?
Coalie...have you got anything sent from somewhere else as a gift from me yet? Sorry to be cryptic but I don't want to spoil a surprise. It ought to have been delivered by Saturday...so if you don't get it within the next week please let me know. Ta.
