The sellers were lovely too elliehen - knocked a dollar off and made sure I got the largest slice. I'm glad it wasn't real cake though as I had already diverted from my sensible eating plan by having pistachio, Earl Grey and some other treats at Penguinos - I love that shop.

There was a cake of the Nelson market soap in my Christmas stocking last Christmas but it's too nice to use so it just sits scenting the bathroom. Yes, I think winter breaks are going to be needed this year - planning some time with daughter in Nelson and old friend in Melbourne. Still, a small bit of good news was the fact that Ballantynes in the centre of town intends to reopen in October so one family tradition that will survive will be the Christmas Eve purchase of one tree decoration for each of our offspring from Ballantynes. Somehow I don't think we'll be putting gifts under the Cathedral tree this year though but perhaps the diocese will have one somewhere else.

Hi Pam, I believe that elliehen was recalling this posting of yours.....

Yep, it went to auction but no takers ( oh dear, what a shame, never mind LOL) we are meeting the salesperson on Saturday after we close the shop...not sure what will happen, but I am a great beliver in if it's meant to be, then it will be for us...if nothing else, it has cemented our desire to go back rural again. As much as I love our wee house, I dont like living in town. If it came off, i would run a B&B from it and the online side of the business ( the shop, Mmm, dont know about that one...our health and well being is far more important) after a very stressful year or more ( employment issues with Dh) it has made us think even more about what we want and where we want to be and it aint in town!

elliehen, you're right, yesterday was a no-post day on this thread.....We were at yet another, but the last [:-)) x2] almost all day meeting in preparation for our Easter commitment that has been almost 2 years in the planning. Easter 2011 seemed so far off then but we go on-site in five days time and in a fortnight's time it will be almost all over, so in case I don't get to say so before we leave home on Friday.....

Keep warm, well and safe - particularly if travelling, and enjoy a Happy Easter everyone. :-))

I hope all is well with you ladies. I have not been in as I have been flat out with uni the last couple of weeks with mentoring and getting three assignments in. Also my middle daughter, Amber turned 7 today so I have had a nice relaxing day with the kids. Blessings and love to all. I am just very fortunate to have good people around me and a lovely family.

No problem...any particular type that you like? We have the Tleaf tea range and you can have anything from a couple of styles of Earl Grey to an English or NZ breakfast...or even green tea.

I have green tea, Earl Grey, Breakfast tea and I think I have some Rooibos tea. Plus maybe some other samples...

Nelson's secret is that in the winter we have cold, crisp nights but endless calm, hot sunny days.

Yes, but Penguinos closes in May for winter :-(

Thankyou for the photo Charlie. I know it sounds weird, but with everything else that's happening I was almost surprised that autumn arrived.
I know you said you were going to be doing a course at Risingholme - I don't know whetther or not it started but they have an ad in today's " Community News" for term 2 and an email address; risingholme at xtra dot co dot nz
Their web page is dubdubdub.risingholme dot org dot nz

I had my new shower installed today and it's bliss. It's going to be a challenge to keep it short. Still no chemical toilet, but I think it's coming as was have a 'mist green' tank at the end of the street. I am a bit bemused by sewerage tanks coming in decor colours.

scarey that you can just go for a walk and take a photo of whats being talked about charlie, lovely weekend here scrapping and going out in the boat, crisp but lovely out on the hauraki gulf, we have some lovely scenery here as well, loved the photo of the avon river charlie, you are very lucky that you have lovely walks like that without getting into the car to get there!! do you have nz tea towels cooks?? I quite often look for a tea towel when on holiday as its a lovely reminder of where we have been in the world, and its really hard to find nowadays. people still use teatowels its just not how we used to!!

yes have looked here but its when "we are in the moment"and want a memento of a lovely weekend or a special holiday, was in vancouver recently and could not find one for love or money and I looked in the main spots granville island, tourist shops, on the ferry to vancouver island - they are just not there anymore, think its the demand that has ceased.

Morning all, have a bit of a cold and feeling a little sorry for myself... work continues to be going well...busy but not too many dramas.... My cleaner has done her first clean... bliss... can't tell you what a weight off my mind that is...
I wasn't getting around to it often enough and add that to beating myself up for not getting around to it.. It was weighing heavy on my mind. This weekend I felt such relief.... more than I thought I would.
Had a family birthday last weekend but it was over an hours drive away...so a late night... and then back there the next day to see family. Add that to a big bike ride and blah blah blah... felt worse at the end of the weekend than at the beginning...exhausted.... probably the reason for the cold.... sorry for the moan moan moan... but thats me today I am afraid.
Taking massive doses of echinacea... hoping I can shake it off.

Have a wonderful day ladies and gents.... And stay outaway from people who make you feel bad or bring out the worst in you.

Sound advice. I am surrounding myself with lovely people at the moment and one friend is just amazing. Such a positive light. In Portuguese we call itt espiritu or spirit connection. It is a weird thing but it feels like a part of me had been missing. I also have a darn cough that will not go away so it keeps me up at night. Need to get some cough mix as most people have lemon and honey but I can't being vegan. Oh well people, enjoy your day. I am off to brunch with hubby and then into uni for a class. :)

wise words toady, hope it doesnt turn into anything orrible, jcprotea I really think that hacking cough is doing the rounds, its seams to be a time thing. liked the thing about people with good energy - you can turn into someone you dont know or like when you have people that just dont fit with you - when you get their negative / unhappy energy its powerful stuff.
take care everyone
