I also have a Cross stitch Mag which has Flower Designs. I am having a clean up so email me your address as I have lost it and let me know if you would like them. I will not use them so you may as well girl. I will post them to you.

smartgirl would you like grizzly and I to send our cats over to clean out the rat?!!!!! My foxy will most likely catch it faster. He is a good little rat catcher. I detest rats and I would be sifting through the garage as well. They can nest in all sorts of wierd places. My friend had some that had eaten a hole through her plastic bins. Yuk. Hope you are feeling a bit better girl and yes teenagers do not seem to be very helpful this winter. Must be something going around that affects them. Lol.

Thanks for the offer of the books, makerealbany, that would be great. I can share with Suzy59nz, as she is into cross-stitch as well.

Is it your back, smartgirl, that's giving you pain? What a dreadful job to do when you are not feeling up to it. I'd be terrifeied coming face to face with it.

No chance of my girls helping to catch it,either. They bring things in and then let them go in the house and sit back watching hubby and i going mental trying to get them ouyt of the house. Better than watching tele for them! Haha.

Thanks for the email grizzly. Will post. That is nice of you to share with Suzy. I know I have more I just need to find them ha ha. have just got a casserole ready and put it in the fridge. I have M all day and Playgroup starts tomorrow. My SIL is running trying to finish the jobs before he goes on Wed. I have to race from home up the motorway to T's Place tomorrow about 5 30 as she is working tomorrow night so I will be taking that slow cooker with the meal ready for the teenagers. I may as well throw one on in the house for A,S and M so that tea is sorted for everyone. I need an extra set of hands. Don't we all?

Smartgirl. Listen to some music. I like to do that when I am really bad and for some reason it gives me energy. Mind you it depends on what you listen to. Some of it is too energetic. Ha ha. Always helps to free me up though. I seem to be creaking a lot lately Lol. My bone scan was excellent but the joints need oiling. Ho ho. I am amazed at how many articles you knit. You leave me miles behind girl.

makerealbany - 2010-07-20 00:08:00
2956

I know now why I was feeling so yuk. I have come down with a dreadful head cold and sinus with tebbible achy joints. You are a machine feeding the millions. Last night I could not move even to cook dinner as I was in so much pain and I was freezing now matter how h ot it was or how many blankets and clothes I had on. I went to bed early and it was not so bad. I feel a bit better today.

smartgirl - 2010-07-20 11:32:00
2957

Oh you poor dear smartgirl. I hope someone cooked you dinner girl. After all you do for your family. I am glad you are starting to feel better. Just got back home. My knitting bag is starting to look like a remnant from the past. I do hope I get to be creative soon. Sigh. Babysitting tomorrow from 6-30 until Midnite. A short drive in between from one house to another. By short I mean 20 mins. Lol. Well it is bed for me.

makerealbany - 2010-07-20 23:13:00
2958

I feel for both of you. I hope you are taking something effective for that cold, smartgirl. But what about the pain? You are still as exhausting as ever, makerealbany! I don't know how you do it. I am taking the woman's group this morning at work and have a craft activity planned that I did about 15 years ago. It is wall hanging involving a rolling pin with a picket fence made with iceblock sticks and made pretty with dried or silk flowers and greenery. Hope they enjoy it. I am working on dolls clothes this week.

I am feeling a little defeated.....Things aren't really improving for hubby at work and he isn't getting a handle on managing the stress levels. He is talking about finding another job which is how he has always managed the hard bits at work. We are supposed to be spending SAturday night in a swish hotel in town for our 30th wedding anniversary but not sure I'm really into it. All this supporting people can be very wearying and seems endless at times, eh?

2960

Sorry about last message, must have been a bad day... At least it's Friday and the weekend is ahead and of course, we are going to our flash hotel tomorrow! We don't get to do much in the centre of town because we don't need to go there so it will be fun exploring.

I hope you are having a good time tonight grizzly. I finally posted books to you today. I have had the hell week with babysitting and supporting both of my girls. I was so b-ggered last night when I finally got home I just collapsed into bed. HA HA. Had a great day today just being at home by myself. Went and had a haircut and did some shopping for pressies as the birthdays are here again. Finished a merino beanie for K tonight so I am feeling good. Although I did cancel a dinner date for tonight. I did it yesterday as I did not think I would feel as good as I do tonight. B-gger it. Yes a dinner date with a guy.!!!!!!! Never mind I am going next Saturday. He is an old friend.

It is so quiet and peaceful here. Hurrah. My girls took the kids to see their little nephew in Hamilton Yesterday and stayed the night. I am pottering around all by my lonesome. Luv it, luv it. Ha ha. Bit drizzly outside but I am snug as a bug in here. Working out my next knitting project even though I do have to write a report today. It will be short and sweet I can assure you grizzly. It is one of my grandson's Birthday today so need to wrap his pressie and get it to him later sometime. I have had an early lunch as I was famished must be all this relaxing. Lol.

Friends are the best sort. That's what I. was to start with. Hehe. I'm pleased you had a good day yesterday. How are you feeling, smartgirl?

We had a lovely evening out last night. Our room overlooked the city night lights and Victoria Park with the fountain. Very pretty. We had dinner in town after going for a wee walk and the same for breakfast this morning. Didn't use the restaurants actually in the hotel in the end. So many choices we couldn't do everything in the end. We had a great time but in the end we decided there is no bed quite like your own!! Regardless of how much you pay.

grizzly4 - 2010-07-25 11:18:00
2965

I am feeling much better thanks, I am so glad you enjoyed yourself. You will have to do it more often but come home afterwards. You probably got a better deal not eating in the hotel. I think it is much more fun investigating other places.

smartgirl - 2010-07-25 12:10:00
2966

Makereal, at least he was a true friend and you could cancel. You will have a much better time when you feel more like going out. I am off to the rubbish dumb. I put more bait out yesterday but there had been very little eaten of the last lot. I thought fresh bait might help. I sleep much better knowing there are now no rats on the other side of the door.

smartgirl - 2010-07-25 12:12:00
2967

No for the full story. Yesterday at 3ish I got mr 18 to have a major throw out as well so I loaded up the car to go to the dump, it 5 minutes away from here. I arrived at 4pm to find it was all locked up. I was supposed to close at 4.30. I came home unloaded that rubbish and went to the supermarket. Sat down at 5.30 to find the news had begun. I then thought I must be going crazy but my watch battery had died. Bu--er, so I am off now. I hate repeating the same dreadful process again.

smartgirl - 2010-07-25 12:16:00
2968

Oh no! You poor thing, what a hell of a weekend you've had. Well done getting an 18 year old to have a clear out? Not sure I ever managed that till they moved out and left all their cr#% behind! Haha. Supposed to be going to hear Nigel Latta tonight but I am so tired after our big weekend not sure if I'm going to make it.

grizzly4 - 2010-07-26 08:09:00
2969

What a devil of a time you have had smartgirl. The dump issue would have riled me up!!!! Darn it all. A rule unto themselves. My large tv would not switch on. Well it did bt then it kept switching off. I was so mad I got the smaller one out of the bedroom which I never watch in there anyway and lugged the big one out of the cabinet(nearly gave myself a hernia) and put the smaller one in. At lest then I could watch tv. My large one is 15 years old and has never had a probelm. It could be just a switch but then to get someone to come and look at it would cost and arm and a leg. The kids said to get a new one but oh I hate tospend that money. Anyway I have a tv that works so all I have to do is get the 28inch out of the lounge as it is taking up space. I cannot move it again so will wait for one of the boys to visit.

makerealbany - 2010-07-26 22:43:00
2970

Nigel Latta is really good grizzly. I enjoyed his Psychology seminars and his books. My girls like him as well. Glad your evening was a hit. Just finished the last of the Twilight series. A fab read. My granddaughter has watched the Movie a couple of times. HA HA. It is on Sky this month. I must admit I have tuned in a few times. I am so darn busy I have to watch things piecemeal and Sky is good for that. Lol.

makerealbany - 2010-07-26 22:48:00
2971

Good morning girls. What am I doing up 6 hours after I went to bed? You may well ask. Well the saga goes like this. I left my watch in the house after bathing M. I also left my cellphone in the house and they are all asleep by 9 so I did not want to go in there and wake anyone. So I usually set my alarm on my cellphone and not having it posed a probelm. I got out my Dad's old alarm clock. set it by the tele and the bl--dy clock went off at 4-30.!!!!!!!! It sounded like artillery firing. No wonder Dad loved the ruddy thing. He was always up early. I have an electronic clock but the power dips here are constant so that drives me to distraction. Anyway have a happy day girls and consider that by 1.30 when M is having her nap, that I will be dozing in the lazyboy lol. Also consider why it is called a lazyboy!!!!!!

makerealbany - 2010-07-27 05:14:00
2972

I did wonder when the thread said someone had been on here 4 hours ago!!! Don't know whether I'm coming down with another cold or what but felt dreadful last night so didn't go to Nigel Latta. It might be the side effects of the central heating in the hotel during the weekend but, boy, I coughed last night.
Makerealbany, thank you very much for the lovely cross-stitch books. I will show suzy59nz on Monday and plan our projects.

grizzly4 - 2010-07-27 08:54:00
2973

We all love Nigel Latta too, it great to see he is not scared of the pc brigade. I hope it was the central heating that upset your cough, how have you been since you have moved in general. Makereal you make me tired thinking about you. I have restarted doing charity knitting on a monday night for BFB but completely forgot yesterday even though I reminded the trader who also does it. Must be old age or something.

smartgirl - 2010-07-27 12:36:00
2974

My pleasure grizzly. Yes with heat pumps in the kids houses I am starting to feel a bit croaky myself. I am on the honey and garlic again. Lol. It is so warm in their houses I have to wear a t shirt so that I can take my cardi or sweat shirt off. Yet outside I am so rugged up. I have a band to finish and sew on a cardi before I hit the hay tonight.

makerealbany - 2010-07-27 19:27:00
2975

We all suffer from temporary amnesia smartgirl.Ha ha. My great grandson has already been put on the bottle. A shame really as his Mum does not work and it is so costly on the bottle. Not as good for baby but some mothers get sick of breastfeeding so darn quickly. I do not understand it but then there there is that huge generation gap. Ho ho. I have not done any charity knitting for ages as I cannot seem to find enough time. I could not even knit on my plane trips as you are not allowed offensive weapons.!!!! Mind you one could do a lot of damage with a needle if one had to Lol.

makerealbany - 2010-07-27 19:33:00
2976

It's a sad day when you can't knit because of the dangerous needles!!! I think my cough is more manageable since moving. It's awful when I get a cold but pretty much in between the inhalers work a treat. We'll see what happens in spring with all the pollen, eh?
I'm working on bootees and baby sox for the shop this week. And I'm inspired to move more quickly on my cross-stitch now I have some new ideas, thanks to makerealbany.

grizzly4 - 2010-07-28 08:35:00
2977

That darn cough of yours is becoming a permanent fixture grizzly. How awful. My last blood caused the GP to tell me once again my liver tests are not normal. Well excuse me I know that and what am I supposed to do about it. Dah. It is my immune disorder. They panic and send me a letter to ring the doc asap and tell me the same thing they have been telling me for a year. Then they say I need regular blood tests which I already have. Honestly!!!!! I just ignore the letter for a few days then I ring and it is like a recorded message really. HA HA. I am off to bed early as I have the busy time coming up again running between the girls as my Midwife daughter's hubby is not coming home this week as he was supposed to. Bu--er it. My other daughter is 34 weeks now but will keep working until she is 38 weeks. Bu--er that too. Ha ha. She is getting very tired and no wonder.

makerealbany - 2010-07-28 22:22:00
2978

Well girls I am off up to Orewa for the night. Babysitting tomorrow. Just finished the shift here. HA HA. My daughter's cleaner has had her baby boy. Early and so Nana did the big clean today after taking M to ballet lessons. I am getting so fit. Lol. In other words I am shattered. Ho ho. Tomorrow I will no doubt do the big clean up there. Ah well keeps me out of trouble.

makerealbany - 2010-07-29 19:29:00
2979

I reckon we have all earned our angel wings, don't you think? How many times do you girls actually do something just for you? I had so much energy this week after my lazy weekend, actually did some sewing yesterday morning before going to work!!! Slowing down now, of course, just in time to look after B2 tomorrow, cook tea for everyone tomorrow night, finish my sewing project and knitting and try and cram in some cross-stitch and start my new book. Oops, I think I suggested to I. that we go see the movie Inception on Sunday as well.

grizzly4 - 2010-07-30 08:02:00
2980

In answer to that question grizzly!!!!! I am thinking on it lol. Back home again. I will have a me day tomorrow until 5-30 and then I will head back up to the beach to babysit. My granddaughter and I are getting New Moon to watch tomorrow night. I will take some knitting for when little K goes to bed. I had a good day with him today. He is teething and is a bit clingy but he is still a cute little fellow. We were outside for awhile kicking his ball after we got the washing in, because it was so nice and warm. He is an out doors boy. As soon as he saw his gumboots and padded rain trousers he was off to the back door. Looking for Swami( their cat). He is quite talkative now. You are also a very busy girl grizzly. I have not been to the movies for ages.

makerealbany - 2010-07-30 23:41:00
2981

We don't go to the movies often at all. I keep thinking of all the other things I can get done in that 2 hours. Haha!

grizzly4 - 2010-07-31 08:35:00
2982

I am the same here, if only you could take your knitting to the movies it would be great. Its a beautiful day here again today. Have a great weekend girls.

2985

Hi smartgirl. My daughter hooked me into Facebook and now I have something else to do. Lol. When I don't know. I went shopping for myself today which was very unusual. Ha ha. I bought a new skirt and 3 tops because KK were having a great sale. I went down the road earlier with my daughter and did my weekly food shopping at Pac and Save than after lunch I went back. I just felt like some retail therapy today. I am always buying things for the family birthdays, etc, etc and I thought b-gger it I am going to buy myself something. Felt darn good too. Ha ha.

Grizzly I am lucky that I can get DVDS from all my kids to watch at home. I just hate to sit still in the dark. HA HA.

makerealbany - 2010-08-01 00:54:00
2987

We collect DVDs, too and have a big screen tv but I can't put the knitting down long enough to get that 'movie' feel at home. Haha.

Suzy59nz , making a teddy? what happened to the Wizard!!!!???? You are trying so many new things lately, it's great, but I can't keep up. Will I see Poser, tomorrow?

I have just arrived home from netball. I cant remember when I have been so cold. It rained for the last match and even with umbrellas we still got we so I have just had a lovely hot shower. That was the last round of Miss 13 rep team. She still has about 6 Saturday games left.
I replied to your facebook message. I keep forgetting to go in.

Had a lazy day girls. I am still sorting out the facebook thing smartgirl. My son keeps suggesting profile photos and I veto them ha ha.I had 54 emails wanting me as a friend. Lord what have I done?

makerealbany - 2010-08-01 18:33:00

Facebook got a bit much for me, I have to say. Must be my age!!!

grizzly4 - 2010-08-02 08:09:00
2991

Know what you mean grizzly. I had 25 emails tonight from friends on facebook. We have changed from telecom to Vodafone and the system changes at 12 tonight then we have to reload broadband so if I am off line you will all know why. I am feeling b--ggered tonight. My daughter up the hill is sick and so are 2 of her children. I am aching all over so I guess I have been exposed to their virus. I am not coughing but I am so tired. Had a productive day with M and even got some mending done while she was having her nap. I am in my pjs already!!!! Yeah what a shock. Ha ha. My electric blanket is on and my book is near my pillow. Lets hope I will join it soon.

2992

That sounded so cosy, makerealbany! I do hope you don't come down with their 'flu. Last thing you need. Weather quite a bit milder the last few days so I actually got to spend time in the garden on Sunday. It was a lovely treat. The person who promised me some horse poo for the vege patch never came through so way behind in that part of the garden. @#%*#!

grizzly4 - 2010-08-03 08:38:00
2993

My knitting is suffering 'cos I've been working on my x-stitch! I have a later start today so am going to catch up on the wee prem jacket I am making before going in to work. I am really enjoying having Masterchef back on tv. Only miss 15 minutes by the time I get home in the evening. Did I tell you I got Julie's cook book from the last Australian series. I was so excited when I got it in the Paper Plus sale on Friday night. Down from $60 to $45. Such an excellent deal. There is a very untraditional Christmas pudding in the book that is a must for my family this year. HeHe. You have to check the book out, ladies!

The tv programmes have gone to pack, I have to say!! I had my evenings all sorted for the maximum knitting and entertainment experience and now all my favourites are winding up. Grrrr.... I've tried some of the new ones but can't say any are grabbing me much. Sigh.....

i admit to liking Vampire diaries, i look forward to Thursdays and on Friday Dancing on ice. Ghost Whisperer is back on Monday

I have really enjoyed Dancing on Ice, but I cant get into this new one on now on tv 1. Mignt be just me.

smartgirl - 2010-08-05 20:52:00
2998

Ditto Dancing on Ice. Absolutely love it and of course Masterchef! I agree the new one on Thursday night is too weird. We dragged out a DVD of the old Top Gun movie from 20 years ago. Still a good movie but it brought up lots of great memories of our Air Force days etc etc. Lots of fun remembering back.

grizzly4 - 2010-08-06 08:37:00
2999

Yes I am a fan of Masterchef, the Australian one is great value. I also like Criminal Minds and the like and there is a new Australian series starting soon. I enjoyed that when it has been on before. What have you all got planned for the weekend. I hope to get some knitting done and have netball on Saturday. I hope it is fine this time.
