Hi smartgirl Good on you. Exercise may kill you at first but it helps a hell of a lot. I go to Curves 3 times a week. At first I felt like crawling under a rock and staying there but I enjoy it and it does stretch my back out.

I really feel for you guys and your backs. It must leave you very frustrated at times. Do you use your crafts as a treat after completing the exercise you know you have to do?
I am on leave next week and my treat is starting a new cross stitch of the photo of my grandson at 5 weeks old!

Hi grizzly have you done photo cross stitchs before, they are so neat. I thought of doing it when I had one grandchild but now I have 6 I cant play catchup.

255

No, I haven't My biggest cross stitch was one I bought off Tm that the seller had obviusly done on a similar computer programme. Kittens in a garden shed. Very cute. Haven't finished it yet but I'm going to start the new one anyway.

At the beach Came up to Orewa for a couple of days. Nice and laidback but I brought my knitting to do at night. Daughter and I have been planting her vege garden. I did cross stitch years ago still have a couple of framed Roses scenes packed away of course. Find the really fine work hard to do now. The calsification in the fingers caused by Arthritis makes it difficult.
Spent Friday with my Invalid son as he had to have more tests. What a day yuk. Next week his son is 18 so we will have another Family dinner. One thing I can say about my life no time to get bored. I never have enogh time to do all the things I want to do. Hi grizzly I did a cat tapestry years ago for my granddaughter and when they went to live in Aussi she gave it to me to babysit. That is packed as well. When I finally start unpacking things no doubt she'll claim it back. Dayla my cat is coming inside every night now. She marches in about 6 so she is more settled.

Back exercise and treats. Yes grizzly I have to exercise in order to function and my hobbies are my way of treating myself. Well sounds good anyway. ha ha. Knitting and crocheting instead of exercise balls for the hands, mosaics to test my perception and therefore validation that my brain is still functioning well and so on and so on. ha ha

Where is everyone? Laid the carpet in the bedroom cottage today. My daughter's Partner and I did it ourselves. Easier than the Lino thank goodness. Curtains are up so will set up the walk in wardrobe tomorrow and start moving things. Too tired to even look at my knitting but found a box of material to sew things for youngest grandchild. Forgot I had those materials. No doubt more treasure will be discovered in the shift. I only have to move to the other side of the driveway. Ha ha.

Hi grizzly Sounds as if you had a super day. I was moving stuff today and that wasn't so great. The older you get the heavier things get Ha Ha. Got some wool on TM this week to add to the collection. Saw a kind of collage made with different knitted pieces of wool. Looked quite interesting might try that out after my circular needle experiment. Will move into cottage at the weekend then I will be able to concentrate on that pattern bll. Having my own space where I can put something down and go back to it whenever will be so great.

Hi Everyone I am going to spend the first night in my cottage tonight. Bathroom and bedroom completed. Hot water is on toilet works Yey. Granddaughter has come to stay for the night and we have been moving boxes from the house and unpacking. Did not realize how much wool, materials and craft goodies I had purchased this year. Walk in warddrobe is huge and has two walls shelved all the way down from ceiling. Looks like a craft shop. It is so heavenly to be able to see things at a glance. J has been labeling all the containers for me. Family all came to main house for tea and to inspect the cottage. Have to buid a shed for all the tools and then we can finish the living area and kitchen. Got my electric jug, toaster and fridgefreezer in the unfinished part. Bare necessities there haha. Had to resort to using darn strong painkillers for the back.

And No bll too darn tired at night too knit but after all the jobs and shifting is finished look out haha. Think I will give the cone wool a miss after your comments girls.

makerealalbany Cone wool is easy to knit with if you have a wool winder and can ply together quickly. Also if you purchase cone wool of Trade me sellers ( I have my fav people on here!) they will often prewind for you. You can make some gorgeous colour mixes when mixing different colours that make your knitting unique to you :-) And can purchase anything from Angora to work weight wool. AND...cones go a VERY long way without the need for joins if you work it right! Hope that helps you Cheers :-)

Congratulations, makerealbany on moving into your cottage. I know shifting is dreadful but it sounds as if your move is going to be worth it!

Yahoo Was as snug as a rug last night grizzly. Loved sleeping in my own little pad and so did my granddaughter. Got the babys room emptied out in the house today so that my daughter's partner can paint the ceiling and one wall tomorrow. H e has never painted before ( nearly 40 ) I cannot believe it but I guess Helicopter Pilots are not required to do basic things.

Got all the gear ready For him gave him some hints on thinning paint, filling holes, sanding, etc but will watch over him like a mother hen. ha ha. Hope he never reads this. Crafts and Hobbies!!!! no way. Found heaps more treasures today in boxes. Isn't strange how as you get older you hoard all sorts of wonderful stuff and alsorts of not so wonderfulstuff. ha ha.

Hi Ixcelm Bet you wondered why I have not been bidding for mosaic goodies for awhile. Now you know. Thanks for the tips re cone wool as well. How are you? Bet you have settled in nicely up there.

It's a funny thing about the hoarding I'm finding I'm doing nearly as much as I used to. Maybe it's the advent of Trademe! Definitely great for those not so wondrous things. Someone will love it!

Grand daughter and hoarding J arrived with her Mum. Got a school project and because she had labeled everything for me, knew just where to look for the necessary items. Told her Mum " There told you Nana had everything I needed". Daughter was very pleased. Somethings I have are really mysterious. ie I can't remember what they are for.ha ha. Had a plastic rectangle and grandson said thats a mitre box Nan for cutting. Oh Yeah.

Hi Girls Well not a good day weatherwise. Going away for weekend to Rotorua to see Mum and catch up with three of my sisters. Will call into Hamilton on the way and drop off some boxes of goodies I no longer need for my nieces. Have a cuppa with my sister, get new tyres on my car and then head off to Rodo. Bubbie's room is coming on and I expect it to be finished and set up while I am away ha ha. Have a great weekend girls catch you on Tuesday.

My girls (3 cats remember?) have spring fever at present and are playing chase up & down the length of the house all the time. (& yes they can get outside but, no, they don't want to!) They must have made a bee-line for the cat-door and missed! Now I have to explain to the insurance company!!!!!
