Evening girls, I have had a bug and a very busy week with my girls so I have not had the time to come in and visit you. Makereal how are all you preparations going for you trip. You must be really excited as the time gets closer.

Grizzly, you dont seem to be able to win with that cough. I have one at the moment and will be glad when it goes but your one must seem never ending. You poor thing. How is Mr Grizzly feeling.

Gee grizzly, I luv the not enough, than too much, now a combination. Ruddy doctors make mistakes too. Maybe it is a sinus probelm as well. I find that researching my immune disorder helped me understand it better I have just got home from a dinner date with an old mate. Went down the road and spent 4 hours nattering about the old days when we were party animals. Had a nice meal and a drink as well. HA HA. I really enjoyed it. Must do it more enough.

Hi there smartgirl. You keep those bugs away from me mate. Ha ha I am staying positive that nothing will stop me going on my trip. I reckon tonight's fun and frolic has boosted my immune system a whole more than the large doses of vitamens the doc has me on. Lol. Went shopping today for the cat supplies for while I am away, got a new pair of walking shoes and hair colour. Note the priority purchase. I spoil the little sods. lol.

Had a lovely rest this weekend. Feeling much more on top of things, thank goodness. Did lots of cross-stitch for a change which was excellent.

Great day today. Discussed our trip. We fly to Sydney for a shortstopover then on to Dubai where we spend a night next door to one of the biggest shopping Malls in the world. It is on the on the other side of the Persian Gulf between Africa and Asia so really hot. We then fly to Nice for a short stopover and continue to Barcelona. After a few days there we go to Italy. After which we will go to Venice and then come home again. I am checking out the hotels and malls online but the net keeps dropping out. Darn it. Have to go pick up my dvt socks tomorrow. Ask me what they are girls? lol.

I give up what are they?
Sorry to hear you have been unwell, smartgirl, and still you were busy!

Grizzly, they are deep vein thrombosis stockings. Essential for travelling long distances. My friend arrives home on Friday and I see on tv that Heathrow may be affected from tomorrow on with the ash again. I hope she makes it home, I am missing her heaps.
Makereal, I wish I was going with you, you will have a wonderful time. I am feeling much better today thank goodness. I hate it when I dont feel well. Have a great day girls, Jo

Clever smartgirl. My son paid $45 a pair for his. S got hers at Kathmandu for $15 a pair. They were half price. I went in today and they said I could buy 3 pairs for $50 but if I joined the Summit club I could get them for $15 a pair. It costs $10 to join the Summit club but wait for it!!! free if you are over 60. I had to show ID because they did not believe I was over 60. HA HA. Made my day and I got 2 pairs for $30.
I was positively glowing all the way home. My SIL has gone again so I had a bit of a clean up in the yard this arvo. You know things like putting gardening tools away, sweeping up all the sawdust, raking the leaves, clearing away the painting gear, shaking out the dropsheets, etc. That boy ran out of time. lol

makerealbany - 2010-05-17 21:47:00
2809

Found out today that M is having a baby brother. She has always said she wanted a boy sister so we are trying to get her to say brother. A and S are delighted. I told SIL that after this he has his family. Told him we would have to get him fixed and Miss 2 says we will nip him on the bottom. Well she nearly got it right. Her Dad just grinned and laughed. I was not kidding. HA HA.

makerealbany - 2010-05-17 21:52:00
2810

Glad you are starting to feel better smartgirl. I rang my sick friend in Hamilton today and she said her sister is trying to talk her into moving up this way. That would be great. I could visit her more often. She is getting worse and her sis works fulltime so it is hard on her travelling all the time. I have M tomorrow and when her Mum arrives home at 5 30 I will dash up to Orewa to ming T'S children as she starts work at 7 tomorrow night. SO it is all go again. T'S hubby flies out to Malaysia tomorrow. I have had a break with both Men being home but it is over now. HA HA.

Phew! Stop and take a breath! Grandson L turns 3 today so going there for fish and chip night tonight. We have got him a family pass to Willowbank, one of the animal reserves here and some Matchbox Police car, Fire Engine and Ambulance. It's hard to believe he is 3, I remember seeing him as a 10lb 14oz little Buddha! Not like that now, skinny wee thing like his Dad. Mind you he never stops!

grizzly4 - 2010-05-18 08:52:00
2812

I cannot believe he is 3 either. Time flies doesn't it. The little boys just love those Matchbox cars. So does miss M for that matter ha ha. Well at lest her little brother will be able to play with heaps of her toys. She even has a tool kit just like Dads. I am off to bed now have to be up at 6. Pretty cold here and I have the dehumiderfire on. Spelling is off but you know what Imean. Lol.

Very grey and drizzly down here. Taking the Women's group to indoor mini golf today. Great fun. Main focus will be funding applications today and GST . Yippee!

grizzly4 - 2010-05-19 08:36:00
2814

How are you feeling, smartgirl? I hope you are getting over your bug. I am working on dolls clothes this week for a bit of fun and to use up more bits.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-20 09:36:00
2815

Hi girls, I am feeling much better, just got to get rid of my phlemy cough. How is your one grizzly, dare I ask. Makereal I love your spelling, you had heat on your brain. haha. I have been to friend house with Miss B to play with her wee granddaughter who is a few months older. They play so well, its great.

smartgirl - 2010-05-20 15:11:00
2816

Hi grizzly Did you get the funding applications and GST done yet. I have a final report to write before I go. Got it half done but need to get the rest clear in simple words so that certain idiots can comprehend it. HA HA. I had to help my Invalid son pack up last night as he is shifting again. He will be a lot further away which is a begger but it will be cheaper as he is boarding and won't be so lonely. Got home at 12.30 and was bushed. My daughter sold twin beds for me on TM and the lovely lady came to fetch them tonight in the rain alone. I helped her move them and my back did not appreciate it one bit although she did. Lol. No darn men around when you need them.

makerealbany - 2010-05-20 23:30:00
2817

Yes I should did have heat on the brain smartgirl. My girlfriend in Hamilton has that phelmy cough as well. It is awful isn't it? I got a bit wet tonight so I am taking large shots of Vitamin C. I cannot afford to get a cold or a bug just now!!!!! M has a bug so I am keeping my fingers crossed and being positive. My daughter in Orewa was home sick today so I am surrounded by bugs. Nearly sorted for my trip. Started to hoover the cottage and I forgot to get new Cleaner bags. B-gger on the list for tomorrow so I have to go to bed with carpet powder all over the place. Sigh.

makerealbany - 2010-05-20 23:36:00
2818

Sounds like a nasty cough going around. And no mine is just the same. I think I drive hubby insane in the evenings. Mornings are best for some reason and then by lunch time it starts winding up. You'd think if it is an allergy to cats it would be worse in the morning after sleeping all night with 3 of them in the bed, eh?
Funding application did get finished the other day but not the GST yet. I got tied up with a computer problem at work (again). I have the AGM for the shop tomorrow and %*@# accountant won't have the audit ready to pick up till this afternoon. Not like I have my job to do !!! without organising all the photocopying once I have it back. They reckon they are really busy this time of year, yeah, well they've had it for 5 weeks and knew the AGM date from the beginning. Time management, guys, they have been working on the 2 work ones for me when I don't need them as urgently. Men!!!! Except for hubby who has been lovely enough to offer to pick it up for me.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-21 09:05:00
2819

I cannot believe you still have that bl--dy cough grizzly. That would drive me mad!!!! You poor beggers. Hubby must be really patient and it must be so frustrating for you. You are right about accountants and Agm Audits. Glad that is not my responsibility now. Although Lawyers can be just as bad. Tell you one thing and then change their opinion on the same thing the next day. Grrrr. Yeah they are always busy aren't they? It poured for hours today and even the dogs did not want a run for long. Back in their kennels they went almost as fast as they came out. Lol. Meanwhile I am standing in the rain all kitted up. Don't know why I bothered washing my hair this morning. ha ha. Ah well rainwater is supposed to be good for you.

makerealbany - 2010-05-21 23:33:00
2820

Well my girlfriend finally arrived home after 5 weeks away. The only part of her trip she missed out on was her tour of the south of England but she gained 7 days in Hong Kong, fully paid with 3 meals a day in a 5 star hotel. Bella was so excited to see her she gave up her much awaited ride home with her daddy in his van. She had wanted to go for a couple of months but seeing Patty was much more exciting.
Even Mr 18 looked out the window last night and said " Well that is a sight I havent seen for a while" He saw her lights on.

smartgirl - 2010-05-22 08:09:00
2821

I'll bet you have a great catch for weeks to come? That was great service in Hong Kong, Smartgirl. Thank goodness the Airlines looked after them.
Another very visual picture, makerealbany!! Heehee. Had a great day yesterday 'cos everyone else was away. I got heaps done to decrease the pile on my desk.
Isn't that incident with the car and 2 children down here last night awful? It happened just over the road from one of our programmes and I am waiting for names to be released in case it is one of our families. I feel so sorry for the regardless, I think the car involved was the one I saw doing donuts on the wet surface of the upstairs level of the lacal mall carpark about an hour earlier. Absolutely irresponsible.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-22 10:06:00
2822

Grizzly, that accident was shocking. There was also one north of Auckland and one young boy died and his sibling seriously ill. It was Cathay Pacific that looked after them. Apparently Quantas did not want to know them. Air New Zealand were also great.

smartgirl - 2010-05-22 19:18:00
2823

I guess you choose your airlines in future based on that sort of experience. Having a lazy day today. AGM went well yesterday, I am still Treasurer, haha. Not sure why no-one else likes playing with numbers. At work I try to get the rest of my work done so I can do the accounts books, they are my treat. How come no-one else understands that?

grizzly4 - 2010-05-23 11:03:00
2824

I have so far had one of those weekends where I have not done much of anything but wasted a lot of time. I hate that.

smartgirl - 2010-05-23 12:10:00
2825

You girls will be chatting up a storm smartgirl. It is so neat when you can sit and talk to a friend about their adventures. Some of my mates have had some fab times and some lousy times on holidays. I have had another full on weekend but what else is new. Lol. A decided to sort outall M's baby clothes to sell on TM. I have never seen so many pink things at once. The lounge was covered the new baby's room was covered, etc, etc. We have washed loads of them and they are hanging on lines in the lounge. Things we can dry have been done but there are not many baby clothers you can put in the drier. A wants to shop for her little boy but she needs to sell all the stuff that is taking up closet space.

makerealbany - 2010-05-23 20:11:00
2826

So we once again put up the cot so M'S cousin K can sleep in it when he comes. We had to erect the changetable again. We have new curtains to put up in the babies room and we need boyish decals for the painted walls. The only bedroom left to redecorate is the main one now. M has had 2 rooms. Her baby room is now the office and spare room. Honestly my daughter changes the rooms like she changes clothes. HA HA. Not quite that bad !!!!! She has had heaps of bids on her baby clothes already and some people will get great bargains because they are hardly worn. M was given so much as presents. Well I need to finish the report and send it.

makerealbany - 2010-05-23 20:17:00
2827

Grizzly I have finished that darn report and sent it. Yiipee. Wish I could be a fly on the wall to see what happens when it is presented. HA HA. I have rung my DIL to ask what the weather is like in Italy at this time of the year and she told me it gets cold at night and to take some trackpants and sweatshirts. My youngest son is in Germany and he reckons I only need summer clothes. I know who I am listening to. Lol. Ok Dubai will be hot but that is about all. As I said to my DIL I will not have the benefit of a lot of vino cursing thru my veins like the young ones. Plus my DIL said clothes are expensive in Europe. I have things ready to pack and my list keeps changing. ha ha. I am not that keen on playing with numbers as you say grizzly but I am ruddy good at it even if I do say so myself. HA HA.

makerealbany - 2010-05-23 21:11:00
2828

Well what are we going to do on this thread with out you makereal. Have you batterned down the hatches for the weather bomb thats coming. Sounds like grizzly will need to too. I decided to take one instead of two painkillers last night and today I have pains in places I did not know I had and I had a bad nights sleep. Goes to show what they do. I can tell you I wont do that again. I have the girls today so I have to carry on. I have just dropped off 2 bags of shoes, 4 bags of books, 2 bags of my neighbours clothes plus a chrome toaster, at the Sallies. I was a bit miffed as they could hardly say thanks. Thats the second time at the same place so I will not go there again. I could have sold most of it on trademe but decided I needed to clear clutter and move on. Hows A's listings going.

smartgirl - 2010-05-24 13:38:00
2829

I am pleased to hear someone's auctions are doing well, how about yours, smartgirl? I'm trying to move some of the older stock in the shop that has been donated to us but not much moving at present. I thought the knitted stuff might have had more interest with the colder weather... You are right about missing, makerealbany.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-24 19:09:00
2830

Good girl smartgirl clearing clutter. I have heaps to take up to the Op Shop but no time until after my holiday. I know what you mean about the pain killers girl. I have to pick up my letter from the Doc for the meds I will be carrying overseas. A's listings are going well. I will have to post some stuff for her but there are some pick ups. We have a fault on the main phone so hopefully Telecom will come tomorrow arvo. I have so much to do in the morning. People ring in and the phone rings once and then cuts out yet we have internet, strange but true.

makerealbany - 2010-05-24 21:33:00
2831

Well grizzly I did not get a peep out of anyone after my report was sent. Mind you they cannot ring the landline so that would cut out some of them but even my cell phone is quiet. Thank heavens I am too busy. A is off on a retreat until Thursday night and so M and I are keeping each other company. I had to practically beg A to let M and I stay at home. M has never spent a night away from her Mummy so we will see how it goes. A is working far too hard and that baby boy of hers is keeping her busy. This pregnancy is so different to M who was a breeze really. Well my boys were pains too. LOL. We have cupboards and things to sort out over the next few days as well as Playgroup, Mainly Music and dancing classes. I will catnap when M has her afternoon sleep.Ho ho.

makerealbany - 2010-05-24 21:41:00
2832

You know you won't!!! You will find something to do that is easier when she is asleep.
I just rang the finance company to get the amount for the last payment on my car. It's due to be paid on the 27th and they said if I paid it today I would be charged $141 for breaking the contract early!! Guess who's not paying till Thursday, now!? I'll go register it instead.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-25 09:13:00
2833

It sounds stupid but its true grizzly, mine needs re registering this week too. Its gone up heaps.

smartgirl - 2010-05-25 09:56:00
2834

Makereal, at the risk of sounding stupid when do you go away again and for how long. I have to prepare myself for your absence. haha

smartgirl - 2010-05-25 09:57:00
2835

How does one prepare one's self for the gap that is going to become apparent in our lives. You could take a lap-top with you makerealbany and a digital camera and it would be like we'll be right there with you. Haha. I hear you groaning....

grizzly4 - 2010-05-25 18:45:00
2836

That is really stupid of the Finance co. grizzly. But what the hell!!! Go and register your car girl. You are right I folded up heaps of the baby clothes my daughter had washed. This place looks like a commercial laundry. Washing lines everywhere and the drier buzzing away. Things are getting organized though. M and I waited all day for Telecom Technician to arrive. He rings me at 7 and says he came up but could not find our house. Sure the numbers are a bit weird but one of my daughters buyers came to pick up some little boots and he had no trouble finding it in the dark. Dah!!!1 I am in the main house. Get it.

shamus68 - 2010-05-25 22:24:00
2837

Now smartgirl do not ask me any funny questions as all will be clear if you just think about it. I am off on Friday. I will go into an internet cafe and log on if I can. I will try to find one in Paris. LOL. I am monitoring my daughters Auctions to answer questions for her and I have to post for her tomorrow. If that Telecom guy is not here by 9 15 it is too bad. I told him that tonight as I have to take M to Mainly Music and I need to shop for stuff for my trip. M was such a good little girl today and went to bed tonight so easily. She has 3 stories and one song every night. Nothing like a routine to keep the little ones happy. She was a bit annoyed about her gumboots and knee high boots being sold though. "Those were mine Nana" she said. When I reminded her they were too small she said "Ok I am a big girl now" and walked off. I will miss our babies while I am away. Sigh.

shamus68 - 2010-05-25 22:34:00
2838

Well that sure confused me for a minute. I thought who is this poster, she comes in here and acts as if she knows us. I thought we had a stalker. ha ha I had to laugh at all the shoes, we call Miss B Imelda (sp) cause of all her shoes. She can wear 6 pairs in a day. Oh its not long now. We sure will miss you. How long are you away.

smartgirl - 2010-05-26 06:29:00
2839

Heehee! That made us think, makerealbany! My first thought was' Gosh, that new person has a lot to say!" I assume you guys are getting the same weather as down here? It looks like it's pretty bad everywhere. You won't know yourself getting out of the wind and rain. How lovely! To think it's not even really winter yet, good grief.
Have any of you had a look at the "Recipes" magazine at all? I picked one up when I was in a queue in the Postshop the other day. Really great recipes. Each turn of the page had one more i wanted to try. Shame hubby's not interested in his cooking at present or we would be eating really well. He is still off work, tried a couple of hours on Monday, but is stressed to the max about going back.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-26 08:58:00
2840

Anyone have a night store heater? There is one in this house and I know the theory is to use the cheaper night rate of power at night to heat the bricks. We have chosen to have the same power rate day and night so my question is does anyone have any experience of how expensive these type of heaters are if used for a couple of hours or left on low permanently?

grizzly4 - 2010-05-27 08:34:00
2841

Hi smartgirl ha ha. I am off tomorrow and back in 2 weeks. Well my bag is packed and I have put things in and taken them out. etc. It is so hard to know exactly what to take. My son and partner are in London and say it is really hot. Yet it gets cool in the evening. I reckon Miss B and M would get on really well with the shoe thing going on. Lol. I still have a lot to do but I am too tired.

makerealbany - 2010-05-28 01:09:00
2842

You probably won't get this before you go, but have a great trip, makerealbany! I'll be thinking of you.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-28 08:13:00
2843

Damm, I am late too. Same from me. I hope you havent let yet. Have a really great time, grizzly and I will really miss you.
Well grizzly it just you and me. We will have to keep the home fires burning. haha

smartgirl - 2010-05-28 11:23:00
2844

Where are you this morning grizzly? I usually come on and you have already been here. I have had my head down and bum up. On monday a trader asked me if I could knit a set for her babies christening on Sunday. Her mum was to collect it Sat night and now I get an email saying she will collect it after lunch. Man I had better get going. haha. Thats what happens when you cant say no.

smartgirl - 2010-05-29 10:06:00
2845

I am here!! Had a bit of a lie in this morning, it was so cosy listening to the rain. It took over an hour to get home from work last night because of an accident on the motorway. Even with a great heater in the car I got really cold and couldn't warm up for the rest of the evening. Did watch Dancing on Ice, though, absolutely loved it. It reminded me of stuff we watched on tele when I was a kid.

grizzly4 - 2010-05-29 10:11:00

I wonder where Makerealbany is on her journey? Any guesses?

In the air maybe.

Grizzly, what colour do you think auction no 291291000 is. I sold it at sale price, met trader in town and she said it was cream. I said it was blue, she took the set and then emailed me that I should state colour cause it looked cream . I have had my vent now. ha ha
