Re booklet.
Campbell Paterson's catalogue lists this but don't quote a price.
If it's in good condition and none of the stamps are perforated, it could be worth quite a lot of money.

What does it mean when Campbell Paterson has a * indicated for price? I just got some advert stamps and a couple were DA2j(3)(W) - both postmarked Papakura, which was interesting.
My CP catalogue is a bit old now as so was also wondering if newer editions have a price for them now.

Very sweet! That was a good $20 I spent then - was a horizontal pair and a vertical pair both reversed watermark

Hi there. I have a box of First Day Covers, some of which date back, 25 - 30 years. Can anyone recommend where I can take them to sell them in Auckland? Cheers Paula

With this auction - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=323435343

Is this just a cleaned fiscal? It looks like one to me. I wonder if that is why there is so many unanswered questions.

Are people bidding generously because of the charity, or the misleading wording in the description I wonder

Was never impressed with it going up, they make a proffit, then they want a bigger proffit and increase postage. Why not reduce it to encourage more mail via postage.

Re 'Fiscal'.
On the right side of the neck, it looks as though there could have been some writing which has been partially removed.
These issues are often 'dodgy' in that regard.
I guess if you bid on an auction that has eight unanswered questions, you take your chances.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't known what a cleaned fiscal was at 15yrs old either. Will be a sharp learning curve for him.

Don't know about sharp learning curve, as it is still for sale. What is wrong is the auction description is dishonest. For unused, when stamp is obviously used from scan. I have asked one of the 13 unanswered questions on the listing, as to why he has wrong description. Admirable cause to raise money for, but need to do it honestly.

Hi Gary I have Emailed a letter to the Newspaper that have written the article and will attach it as follows.
Hi .
In reference to your article http://www.stuff.co.nz/nelson-mail/news/4211574/Stamp-collec
tor-steps-up-to-help
I have noticed that the stamp is up for auction on Trademe and has reached a bid of $146.00 .Auction reference # 323435343.
The seller name is given as faster .
The problem with this is that the stamp is not what is described it is in fact a cleaned fiscal ,looking at a new scan they have provided you can clearly see the bleached out writing on it.
It is worth approx $5 to $10 on a good day. There are numerous unanswered questions on the auction, two of them are mine .The stamp is ungummed and fiscally used and therefore NOT unused.
Reference to your article has been given in the only answered Question in the auction and it makes you look bad in promoting fraud in my opinion.
Unfortunately it is for a noble cause but the information you and Trademe have been given is in my opinion false, could you look into this please as it needs rectifying.
I will post a copy of this letter on the Community Message board Stamp thread on Trademe as comments on the fraudulent though well meaning auction have been raised.
Yours Sincerely
Paul Whitehead.

Hello Paul A fine effort and hopefully common sense will prevail. Either withdrawn or altered description to show stamp is fiscally used, not unused. Will be watching. Gary.

I am looking for a virtual stamp album CD-Rom that the philatellic bureau put out in the 1990's, we used to have it but lost it over the years, my younger girls have found the love of collecting and I think this disk was excellent for kids starting out to give them an idea of the history and stories relating to their collection.

I have come across these before. My daughter joined NZ Post's Stamp Hunters club and they sent her various stamp items some of them having the round circle cancel as your stamps show. In fact she got a wildlife sheet identical to yours. Perhaps they had a lot left over of these issues and wanted to cancel them for collectors. The date stamp would have been long after the stamp issue so they just used a circle, that's my theory anyway.

I popped into Campbell Paterson with this cover today and it certainly is a goodun :)

Apparently one booklet is known with some removed stamps which have been placed onto envelopes. The envelopes are unaddressed.

My example is the first known example that has been postaly used and still on cover. It is catalogued as SC 51h(z) but has no valuation posted against it as yet.

So folks keep your eyes open, there are bound to be more out there I am sure.
