| Thanks for all the emails girls. Some of them are lovely and others are really funny. I love the Dog for Sale. Sent it off to my doggy friends. makerealbany - 2010-04-21 23:57:00 |
| Man you have some late nights makereal, I had the best night sleep last night for months, it really does make a difference. There are some lovely emails around at the moment. I was supposed to have the girls on an overnight stay today but they are now going away tomorrow so I will have them just today. I will appreciate an extra day off. I over did it at the pool the other day and are still recovering. smartgirl - 2010-04-22 06:12:00 |
| Grizzly, I have just gone back a page and read your post re you daughter. I hope the outcome was successful. If not maybe in a year she will be able to say thank god they did me a favour. Sounds like she would be better away from them in the long run. My daughter went through the same thing and took them to court for a settlement and they filed for bankruptcy the day before she was supposed to be paid out. Bas.....s smartgirl - 2010-04-22 06:15:00 |
| Early! It was still nearly midnight!! grizzly4 - 2010-04-22 09:55:00 |
| Omg poor S, i hope she is ok, what a thing to go through how did hubby I handle it all when he went with her? suzy59nz - 2010-04-22 14:54:00 |
| Smartgirl, thats what S's boss is trying to do to avoid paying out the others who won their settlements! grizzly4 - 2010-04-23 09:13:00 |
| Hi girls I have survived my first week with the two grandchildren.Actually I have had a ball. Busy as and lets hope the bonus will be the loss of those extra kilos. Lol. I have not knitted a stitch but I have managed some mending. The two babies are getting on well although Miss 2 is chuffed she is the one who decides what toys bubs can play with as he is "only a baby aye Nana'. They play together well. Both Mums are tired but happy which is the main thing. Happy Mums, Happy babes. makerealbany - 2010-04-24 11:26:00 |
| Oh grizzly I feel sorry for all the worry you and your family have had of late. Your girl is better off now that she knows the outcome. Nothing worse than waiting for the darn axe to fall. Glad the cats are a okay. Yeah I cannot imagine wool supplies running out Ho Ho. Off to Rotorua this arvo with my son and grandson. He is taking some of his Airforce guys down for the Dawn Parade tomorrow. They start from the urupa and church where my grandfather and his mates are buried. He was in the 28th Maori Battalion. Company C so it will be a very emotional day for us. makerealbany - 2010-04-24 11:31:00 |
| Hi smartgirl do not overdo it girl. I was a bit ambitious myself and paid the price lol. makerealbany - 2010-04-24 11:32:00 |
| Suzy I am jealous of all the creativity going on in your patch. !!!!!1 makerealbany - 2010-04-24 11:34:00 |
| just bumping this up so you girls can find it easier, sat at home with the fire lit. Reborning tonight, love it . suzy59nz - 2010-04-26 18:39:00 |
| Thanks suzy59nz! I am so tired, girls! And I can't believe I've had a week off except that my desk was completely covered in work when I arrived back today.Hopefully I will be able to get back to the knitting etc now I'm into my normal routine. I only read 3 pages of my book, and did absolutely no x-stitch. Some holiday! Boy it's cold here today, not like last week at all. grizzly4 - 2010-04-26 20:48:00 |
| Hi girls, I finally listed the things I did over the summer months. I slipped them in on existing listings but will have to go through tomorrow and edit them all. It takes so long but I have been meaning to do it for weeks. Makereal I hope you had a great Anzac day, it was very sad about the air force guys and the soldier who was killed today. My heart goes out to their families, they probably all have young kids. smartgirl - 2010-04-26 22:52:00 |
| Terribly. terribly sad. They were so young, absolutely devastating for their families and friends. grizzly4 - 2010-04-27 07:55:00 |
| You have lovely sets listed, smartgirl. You have been really busy over the summer. I feel quite motivated. I am still trying to move some of the older stock that has been donated to the shop. Hopefully this will keep our overheads down.I have bought some lovely new wool to do some hoody jackets but want to use up all the 'bits' of other stuff first. The new wool is my incentive, haha, sitting there so inviting in new season colours. grizzly4 - 2010-04-28 08:28:00 |
| Moved on from dolls clothes to toddler size gumboot sox to use up my bits of wool. Look great in lots of different colours. grizzly4 - 2010-04-29 08:22:00 |
| Yay!!! It's Friday. What has everyone planned for the weekend? Me? I want to do nothing!!!!Haha. Well maybe some knitting and definitely some x-stitch. Here's to a lazy weekend.... now I just have to get through work today. grizzly4 - 2010-04-30 09:03:00 |
| D%#* my car failed it's warrant of fitness. So I didn't survive the day very well at all. Needs new front shock absorbers #%*@%*! grizzly4 - 2010-04-30 17:31:00 |
| $410 later I have the shock absorbers but job was more complicated than male family members thought so now car and new parts go to mechanics on Tuesday. (Sigh). Apparently it will be another $130 to fit them. (Another sigh). grizzly4 - 2010-05-01 17:02:00 |
| ouch not a good start to the weekend. I need two new tires to get my warrent, not due for two weeks though, but still gonna hurt. suzy59nz - 2010-05-01 18:35:00 |
| I have had a wee 1000cc Toyota Vitz for 4 years. It's been an amazing wee car but needed a new battery about a month ago and now the shocks. However these were the original Japanese ones we are replacing on both counts and it's a 1999 model so it has done very well. This wee car is decked out with spoiler and body kit so is very cute. Even my son likes it, and he is a hard core primera owner. Haha. grizzly4 - 2010-05-01 19:17:00 |
| Hi girls. I have had a horrid week with all sorts of family dramas. In fact it has been the hardest week for years. Still not out of the woods yet but we are all feeling a bit better about things. K had his first Birthday today so we had a family afternoon tea for him and that had everyone laughing and relaxing a bit. I am absolutely b-ggered and will sink into bed hopefully to sleep. Ha ha. My darn internet is playing up again. makerealbany - 2010-05-01 23:22:00 |
| Sorry to hear about your week, makerealbany. I knew something was up when you weren't around. I hope things sort themselves out for a better week this week. I'll be thinking about you. grizzly4 - 2010-05-02 10:08:00 |
| Huh!!!!! I've just clicked who you are suzy59nz! Don't know why I didn't before, you sneaky thing! Ladies, I'd like to introduce you to my friend for many years, we work in the shop on monday mornings together. Haha. You will love this thread, suzy59nz, they are all wonderful women, very supportive and we've been chatting for over 2 years now. grizzly4 - 2010-05-03 07:32:00 |
| Boy Grizzly4 that took you some time lol, guess my profile picture did it eh! Hope your evening and night goes better for you tonight. Edited by suzy59nz at 8:03 pm, Mon 3 May suzy59nz - 2010-05-03 20:02:00 |
| Take a photo of your pocket babies and maybe the others to show our friends on here. They will love them like I do, I'm sure. How are things working out, makerealbany? grizzly4 - 2010-05-03 20:19:00 |
| Welcome suzy, hi girls. I have been staying at my daughters across town since Thursday. They went to a wedding in Auz. I thought I would have time to get on here but after I ran this one here and that one there and came back here I simply ran out of time. I only had time to relist etc. Makereal I hope things are starting to settle down for you all now. Take care. smartgirl - 2010-05-04 16:35:00 |
| Home for a break, smartgirl? Probably not, haha! I suppose not much knitting time for you either you or makeralbany, lately. I'm working on another hooded jacket this week for the shop. It's a lovely grape colour with pink and cream fairisle. This is some of the wool I bought from Spotlight a couple of weeks back. Really lovely to work with. I'm still worried about hubby's stress levels around his job, I think there is more to it than the job so have made an appointment at Doctor's on Friday. After everything he has coped with the last couple of years, I'm thinking depression might be a factor. Thank goodness he agreed to go. He has annoyed the hell out of me for years because I seemed to do all the worrying and he just trusted things to work out. What I wouldn't give to have him back like that.... grizzly4 - 2010-05-05 07:58:00 |
| Hi girls still hectic. Just back from Rotorua. Left on Monday Morning at 4.30 so I arrived there for first meeting at 9. Drovr nonstop all the way. Had 3 full on days working. So much to get thru before my holiday. Things are settling on the home front slowly. I have not knitted a stitch for awhile. Sigh. Need to renew passport or I will be staying home. HA HA. On the top of the list for tomorrow. Only arrived home late tonight. Bag is unpacked, electric blanket is on, cats are in and I am off to bed. makerealbany - 2010-05-06 00:51:00 |
| So much for retirement, haha. You exhaust me, you really do. I am glad you can focus on your holiday now. grizzly4 - 2010-05-06 08:24:00 |
| I exhaust myself ha ha. Some days you feel as if you have not achieved much but if you write it down it is quite enlightening. Lol. I have the passport stuff sorted and you will laugh at this I had to go and check up in my files on the dates of my marriages. Well as you get older some memories fade. Ha ha. I do not understand why they need all the same info for renewals of passports. My Maiden name, etc has not changed duh. Have a nice day tomorrow girls or is it already today? Bit chilly in the mornings now. makerealbany - 2010-05-07 01:15:00 |
| Very chilly in the mornings, I agree. And damper in the evenings earlier. I might as well use the dryer to start with , the washing is so damp by the time I get home from work. I am having to change my routine quite a bit to allow for this extra travelling. Oh well, I'm nothing if not flexible. grizzly4 - 2010-05-07 08:46:00 |
| Not sure what i have let my self in for, my husband, two daughters and their partners are going to Adrenalin forest tomorrow http://www.adrenalin-forest.co.nz/ (not sure how to make that a clickable link ) i am already tired after a full week of work and then i go say yes to this, must be loosing my marbles lol. if i can't move on Monday Grizzly you know why suzy59nz - 2010-05-07 18:48:00 |
| oooooooooooo made it's self in to a clickable link , cool suzy59nz - 2010-05-07 18:49:00 |
| Good grief are you doing it, too?!!!!!! I think I will stick to my knitting. Haha. grizzly4 - 2010-05-08 09:47:00 |
| well i survived the adrenalin forest, i only did 4 out of 6 courses, nearly killed myself on the 4th one, so called it a day as did my 23 year old daughter, she stood on a 15 meter high platform saying " i want to get down" lol only way down was the flying fox and rope swing. Hubby made it through course 5 then called it a day, miss 20 and her b friend did all six, scary stuff some of it, wont be able to move in the morning . Might go back again one day though suzy59nz - 2010-05-08 16:43:00 |
| You are truly a sucker for punishment!! Very brave though, 10 points for giving it a go. Definitely not for me! Had family day yesterday, but exhausted afterward. Had a quiet day today, catching up on shop book work and trying to finish this jacket so I can take it in to shop tomorrow. How was your week, ladies? grizzly4 - 2010-05-09 20:04:00 |
| A belated happy Mother's Day!!!!! Had a family lunch yesterday as my niece who is in the Army came to visit everyone. Really nice day. Work stuff a nightmare but cannot resign until we get all the courtcases out of the way. DAMM. Yes drying the washing outside is a probelm at times even though we now have a super clothesline. Hurrah. If you leave washing on the line at night it stinks of smoke because of all the fires. With the fire going inside one can dry washing on the fold up clothes lines but it is frustrating having them around. You have to move them when the grandchildren are up and about. makerealbany - 2010-05-10 07:39:00 |
| Great effort suzy. I got tired reading about it. Ho Ho makerealbany - 2010-05-10 07:40:00 |
| Hey grizzly my grandson was up from Christchurch the previous weekend and took the duvet and flanalette sheets back with him. He is feeling the cold there. He only brought up a small bag so we were able to load him up to go home. Saved me a bundle on postage. makerealbany - 2010-05-10 07:43:00 |
| Hi smartgirl. How are the girls? I am sorting out medical insurance for my trip. What a headache!!! Luckily my DIL is in medical Insurance. All the guff about pre existing medical conditions drives me crazy. It appears we have a short stop over in Sydney, the next one in Dubai and finally we land in Nice. I am going to take a thick book. My daughter and her hubbie bought me a fantastic bag for the trip. A shoulder bag that I can tie in front. If that makes sense. So I won't have a handbag just this super dooper bag it even has a place for my cellphone, a drink and a cool pad area. I love the bag and will most likely wear it out when I am back home. With the grandchildren I usually just have a backpack around town. I have to carry so much stuff a backpack is so handy. Overseas however I need my valuables in front of me. The kids have already warned me about the gypsies and the mother with the sick baby who is not really sick, etc. etc. Great day for washing today. Got everything dry. makerealbany - 2010-05-10 19:29:00 |
| You sound really excited about your trip, makerealbany. Good on you, you really deserve it. When was the last time you saw the son you are going to visit? grizzly4 - 2010-05-11 09:02:00 |
| Never rains but it pours round here! I sound just like Eeyore, don't I? Hubby very ill, thanks to a severe reaction to the medication he started Friday. I feel so, so sorry for him. He has been through so much during the last couple of years which is why he is the situation he is now. But more side effects..... *%#@*%! grizzly4 - 2010-05-11 19:33:00 |
| He lives in Wellington grizzly. Ha ha I see him every week or so as he flys home for the weekend. He has always wanted to take me on a Holiday as 3 of my other kids have. Not like this though. Lol. About a week after he told me about the trip we were having a quiet drink. I was on the coffee and he was on the wine. Ha ha. He gave me a massive cuddle, told me what a great Mum I was and said he had always wanted to take me to Rome. I had a blubb and then finally realized I was really going. I think I had been in shock for a week. After that the excitement started. I have been looking through the tourist books ha ha. Great day here today. SIL has another digger and has spent the day on it. We had a morning tea at a neighbours this morning. Came home with a plate of goodies. Yum. M had special little cupcakes baked for her so she wanted to "See the presents." makerealbany - 2010-05-11 19:40:00 |
| Oh grizzly we were typing at the same time. Poor hubby. How awful You start a new medication and wham. Bl--dy side effects. It is about time things started improving for you guys. You have had a hell of a time. makerealbany - 2010-05-11 22:46:00 |
| Life can be really tough at times, eh? But we've all been there in different ways, haven't we? We will get through this one, too, I guess. Just really bad timing when we need to support our daughter as well right now. Had lovely knitting evening last night and a great night's sleep for a change so today has started better already. grizzly4 - 2010-05-12 09:41:00 |
| Glad to hear that you had a good nights sleep grizzly. It is amazing how much difference it makes. I raced down to get a haircut today. That made me feel heaps better. My darn hair grows so quick even though it is very fine. I looked in the mirror this morning and thought wow what a wreck. HA HA. Just got back from Orewa little K is walking all over the place. I am on the look out for more comfortable walking shoes. I need some for my trip. I want light ones but they need to have good soles. Will cost a packet no doubt. Tided up my sewing box today and I had packets of sewing needles I had just thrown in there and forgotten about. What a mess it was. All tidy now. Only took 15 mins. Rained here all day and the cats came in all soaked and cranky. I cannot leave Paws in here when I am out as he hates being locked in without the company of humans. Spoilt begger. Lost my favourite lipstick today and I cannot find it. Might have dropped out of my bag in the car. I love the colour and the others seem drab by comparison. I am into bright these days. HA HA. makerealbany - 2010-05-12 22:57:00 |
| Lovely sunny days down here, but a definite bite to the breeze! I hate to say it but I think I need bad weather to shift some of my auctions. Dreadful, eh? Trying to get rid of some of the donated items to the shop as well as some of my knitting from last year. I am working at home in the mornings while hubby is not great and just going to the office in the afternoon, but I have to say it would be nice sitting here knitting in the sun instead. So far this week I have done a child's hat, a pair of gumboot sox and working on a doll's blanket. What's everyone else working on? grizzly4 - 2010-05-13 09:23:00 |
| Poor hubby grizzly. i am only managing to do a little bit of knitting. I seem to have so much on at the moment. The flurry of laywers calls and letters to check is driving me nuts. I am having a day at home on Saturday to sew up some babies things though. No matter what. Took M to dancing and laughed all the way through the lesson. She is a character. After her nap we went down the back to inspect her Dad's work on the section with the digger. It is looking so much better. We then visited our neighbours. When her Mum got home I washed and hoovered my car. then cleaned up the cottage. Tomorrow I am off to Orewa again for the day. makerealbany - 2010-05-14 00:09:00 |
| What a lovely combination of things in your day. I know what you mean about the hassle of ongoing phone calls from lawyers etc though. Accountants are the bain of my life at the moment. I have 3 audits in with them at the moment, and honestly you wouldn't believe the dum questions they ask!!! Actually Doctors are right up there, too. A month ago my GP said I could take Symbicort inhaler up to 12 times daily to get this cough under control. I have been taking it 4 times a day, 2 puffs at a time. However they never changed my prescription so having a battle with chemist for wanting my inhalers too often. Finally came to a head this week with the GP saying I was taking it too much and putting me on a combination of Symbicort and ventolin. And guess who is still coughing? I have been doing more reading on the 'net and it looks like it is more to do with a sinus problem which can be irritated by allergens. JUst gives me more to throw at the GP next visit, really. grizzly4 - 2010-05-14 11:03:00 |
