| Good morning girls. I have kust dropped J to softball as she is training for the natiponals next week. She was here for 2 nights. S my 21 yearold grandson is arriving today. I have a list of chores for him. Lol. Did some weed spraying again yesterday and gardening. I am trying to remove the old lino from the kids spare bathroom and the lino is off but the paper is stuck fast. Cannot wet it as the floor is chipboard so I am going to heat it to melt the glue. I had better not burn the place down so will need to be careful. Ha ha. Kids in Taupo on their way to Raglan. Miss M. I feel energetic today!!!! Have a few more plants to pot out later. I am throwing lamb shanks in the slow cooker for tea as it is easy. When I am on a mission cooking is a pain. makerealbany - 2010-01-07 11:10:00 |
| Finished that floor. Phew!!!! Heating did not help at all so reverted to spray bottle hot water. Worked great. I just kept wiping up after I pulled a piece off. Then gently sanded floor. Looks much better and SIL can tile it. !!!! One day. ha ha. Mowed the last little bit of lawn. Still took an hour. Grandsons have arrived and I am under orders to down tools . Ha ha. Good boys.Must say feel quite jaded nowwwww. Might put my feet up and read a book. makerealbany - 2010-01-07 15:19:00 |
| I am exhausted reading your message! Sewing didn't get done but I did the last bit of the monthly payout to Patch members before running a few errands. Came home with a lovely scone for my lunch and then settled down with my cross stitch for the afternoon. Seems like ages since I did any. Hubby was home early then out straight away to a speedway race meeting. Tea was easy then, just an egg sandwich. With the evening to myself I will get a cardy finished, only have the neckband to do. grizzly4 - 2010-01-07 19:22:00 |
| Yep, cardy finished, pair of wee socks nearly done. Had a lie in this morning and going to meet daughter for lunch so had better do some housework in between if I want to pick up a needle or 2 when I get back. grizzly4 - 2010-01-08 09:48:00 |
| Weather getting quite dark around here. Watched a DVD this afternoon and worked on my cross stitch. Yes I'm just waffling to keep us from going too far down on the list. Haha. grizzly4 - 2010-01-08 18:55:00 |
| Just me again but no-one here....... Have a nice weekend ladies. grizzly4 - 2010-01-09 10:16:00 |

| Happy New year to you too jan.w1 makerealbany - 2010-01-09 23:43:00 |
| Hi grizzly I have been busy with the boys. C's leg in plaster is a mission at shower time plus he has been feeling sick and cannot keep any food down today. I have been baking and pottering inside today and just finished crocheting a little blanket. Made a plum cake today but it was not one of my better efforts. Ha ha. Just watched a DVD with the boys. Scary stuff naturally with those two. Although how they can enjoy it with cellphones going continuously I do not know. Lol makerealbany - 2010-01-09 23:48:00 |
| Is C on medication for his leg that is making him sick? I know what you mean about the DVD young men watch!! My son and SIL are into horrors big time. Although even my son says he is going to give the movie "Paranormal Activity' a miss because of the extreme revies it's had. grizzly4 - 2010-01-10 10:18:00 |
| No he is not grizzly. He has to see the Specialist on Wednesday. Seems a bit better today though. Yes the boys were raving about "Paranormal Activity too. I go through the room and race out ha ha. They tell me "this is a good one Nan" I do enjoy some of them, like the Sci Fi ones but some of those horrors. I refused to watch any of those "Saw" Movies. Yuk. makerealbany - 2010-01-10 13:25:00 |
| What happened to a good adventure story with a bit of romance thrown in? Or am I showing my age? I did watch 'The Duchess' one afternoon last week. It was an excellent movie and a bit more than I thought it was going to be. Another goodie I've seen recently is 'Australia'. Not that I suppose you guys have much time for DVDs but nothing better with a bit of knitting and coffee!! Finished a dolls matinee jacket last night so off with a big bag of new stock for the shop this morning. Feeling very proud of myself. grizzly4 - 2010-01-11 08:11:00 |
| Raining here this morning and quite cold. I was up quite late last night working on my cross-stitch so feeling a bit jaded again this morning. You'd think I'd learn, wouldn't you? grizzly4 - 2010-01-12 09:39:00 |
| Raining here this morning and quite cold. I was up quite late last night working on my cross-stitch so feeling a bit jaded again this morning. You'd think I'd learn, wouldn't you? judith98 - 2010-01-12 17:25:00 |
| Very clever, judith98. I thought I was going a bit silly when I started reading your message. Haha. it won't be so mych fun when i go back to work next week and can't lie in till 9am to recover. However I am on the last page and I am getting very excited to have it finished. Then I will have baby portraits of all 3 grandsons done. Must remember to photograph them for you all to see. grizzly4 - 2010-01-13 10:10:00 |
| Have been so darn busy have not had time to even think properly. All of my grandchildren with the exception of Baby K have stayed with me over the last two weeks. Kids are back home now but I still have a million things to get organised before my SIL is off again. My internet is down in the cottage so late when I could get online, I cannot because of the fault. Grrrrr. Never mind it will get sorted eventually. Lol. makerealbany - 2010-01-13 16:23:00 |
| judith98 was that an echo I heard? Welcome!!!!! makerealbany - 2010-01-13 16:24:00 |
| I cannot believe you will be back to work soon grizzly. Time flies aye? Feels like rain is in the air. Did 5 loads of washing today. Daughter bought new king size single bed for Miss M and new linen so had to wash it all before we set the bed up. Such pretty duvets and sheets. Little miss is so excited, her cot bed is too small and she tosses around a lot at night and wakes herself up. Then she only wants Mum not Dad. Lol. Dad is to play with outside in the day. makerealbany - 2010-01-13 22:05:00 |
| I haven't done as much as I thought I would in the month off. Mind you the first week was taken up with xmas stuff so didn't really feel like being on holiday. I finished reading one book and am half way through another but bought 5 to read over the holidays. I'm pleased with how much knitting I have completed but cross-stitch won't be finished this week and haven't done any sewing at all. Have only pottered in the garden and done basic housework, too. Oh well, maybe I'll achieve more once I have to plan it into less hours once I'm back at work. Haha. grizzly4 - 2010-01-14 09:25:00 |
| Makerealbany, it was a busy holiday for you with all your grandchildren staying. I'm waiting for the calls to start soon for Mr 2 to be staying 'cos his parents can't organise their work hours better. grizzly4 - 2010-01-14 09:27:00 |

| Actually skyblue26 we are aware of that. However this thread was started by a pal who wrote the title that way and after 2421 messages we are not concerned about correcting the title. In fact if our grammar happens to slip it does not worry us. makerealbany - 2010-01-14 23:44:00 |
| Well girls now that I have had that little comment out of the way I shall continue. Ha ha. Had another busy day driving all over the city picking up painting gear for my son who is painting his house. Could not find the street which was hidden I swear!!!!!! Lol. Anyway got home late, had tea and then cleaned the cottage, which was a shambles. I have come to the conclusion that grandchildren are messy. Ha ha. Whipped out the sewing machine and did Little Miss her Winnie the Poo Pillow and duvet for her little cot. Took up her Bumble Bee dress for her Fancy dress Birthday Party on Saturday. I finally watered all my pot plants about 10 minutes ago. I have nearly finished her little crocheted quilt for the cot but will do that tomorrow. She is getting a Dora Cake. Wants it blue. The icing I mean. Will that is different. makerealbany - 2010-01-14 23:55:00 |
| Grizzly I had planned to do a lot more crafty projects but I was not crafty enough as far as the grandchildren go Ha ha. Got some nice knitting Xmas kits on special at K Mart the other day. I have been really good though and have not bought any more wool on TM( My halo is getting a bit tight around my head though) Lol. makerealbany - 2010-01-15 00:03:00 |
| Smartgirl, how are you girl. I never got to Hamilton but may do in a week or so. You and I can catch up for a coffee and a chat. How are the girls? They are all growing so fast. M is always having conversations with whoever will listen and if we do not respond fast enough she talks to the dogs and the cat. It is hard to believe that she is only Two. makerealbany - 2010-01-15 00:09:00 |
| Shame that there is always someone with a negative response, isn't there? That person has probably not read all our wonderful messages and experienced the positive nature of this thread compared to many others. I feel sorry for you, skyblue26! grizzly4 - 2010-01-15 09:31:00 |
| After lunching with hubby yesterday, I spent the afternoon browsing for clothes for work. My size isn't the easist to shop for unfortunately but came home with a couple of nice items for reasonable prices. Thank goodness for Farmers sales. Makerealbany, your sewing is an inspiation to us all! Sounds really lovely. grizzly4 - 2010-01-15 09:34:00 |

| Hi bll. My youngest grandson is really attracted to my pendant and the earings I got from you. He is always pulling on my jewellery but he wants to chew on my orange pendant. I think he likes the colour. Baked the cake tonight. I have to bake a double size in a huge tin because everyone always wants to take some home. Ha ha. I just love that Jo Seegar. Everything goes into the bowl and you beat away. Nice and easy but so rich. Talking of cooking, I cannot get over all the cooking shows on Sky. Hardly any craftshows now. I am sick of watching all those reality Tv Shows. I have to suffer a few when my older grandchildren come around. Will get up early to ice the cake and make some desserts and salads for the party tomorrow. I am not blowing the baloons up though. Lol. makerealbany - 2010-01-16 00:15:00 |
| Whoops!!! Spelling! Must be tired. Almost forgot. How could I? 16 year old Grandson passed his exams well. We are so pleased. He had us worried for a while. That is the boy who had his leg run over. He is a lovable rascal with a heart of gold. He has so many friends of all ages because he is one of those people whose soul just seems to shine all the time. My Mum has always said he should be a Judge. He does see the good in everyone. J, his 14 year old sister is away playing Soft Ball in the Nationals so she will miss the party. She usually blows up the balloons!!!!!. makerealbany - 2010-01-16 00:28:00 |
| Have a great party day tomorrow. I'll bet it's lots of fun with lots of family. I enjoy them as long as they are at someone else's house! Hehe. I am pleased other members of our thread agree that judgemental comments have no place here. Thanks guys, I feel so relieved that my typo's are forgiven. grizzly4 - 2010-01-16 10:27:00 |
| Well it was a great day. All the kids had a ball. The trampoline was occupied for most of the day, the slides and swings were as well. Ha ha. We invited our lovely neighbours and even their dogs. My cat Jed jumped on my bed and stayed there for awhile then hid in the garden sleeping the day away. The food was yummy with heaps of lovely contributions from the family and our nice neighbour. I just had time to cook some Focaccia Bread because we forgot to get some bread rolls. Only takes 5 mins to mix up, then 1 hour to rise, Knead again and then 1 more hour and pop in the oven for 40 mins or so. By the time we had got everything ready the bread was cooked. I have left over salads, Pav and cheesecake in my fridge for tomorrow. Lazy day for me to catch up on my knitting. YAH. M loved her cake. I got my daughter to ice it and she really did a good job. I am training her to take over the icing Lol. I enjoy the baking but with my stiff fingers I find it hard to ice Names and letters, etc. We had most of our large family here and it was nice to see my 3 boys all chatting away and teasing their boys. It is a lot of work but well worth it. Little M got so many presents I have no idea where her parents are going to put them all. The place is like a creche. Everything a little one would want including 3 little kitchens after today. 2 large Dora dolls because she is Dora Mad. We have Dora on everything. She loves the Wiggles, Barney, Hi Five, Winnie the Poo, Bob the Builder, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Spongebob. She has a huge library and knows if we try to skip pages when we read to her. But the thing she loves to do most is paint, draw and make things with her Play doh. We have another little crafter in our group. Ha ha. makerealbany - 2010-01-16 23:20:00 |
| I am so pleased your day went well. As for spontaneously baking bread at the last moment.... well thats highly impressive!!!It's a wet weekend down here so everyone stuck inside when family visited yesterday. Mr 2 stayed over. Off to get ink cartridges for printer this morning finally, something I keep putting off. grizzly4 - 2010-01-17 09:09:00 |
| No rain here grizzly. I wish there was. Ground is very dry and water tanks are getting low. I need an ink cartridge as well but I am being very laid back today. Slept in until 10. Strange but so nice. I have been watching TV and crocheting. Having a break from that. Might read a couple of chapters. makerealbany - 2010-01-17 16:22:00 |
| I can't believe I've had a whole month off work!!!! Back to work we go today. At the 'Patch' this morning and in the office this afternoon with a 'Patch' meeting tonight. I'm not nearly as organised this morning, my head still feels as if it's working at holiday speed. grizzly4 - 2010-01-18 08:07:00 |
| Well, I certainly slept well last night! Yesterday was a busy start to my working year in the end. We found that our storage sheds had been broken into over the weekend so spent most of the afternoon giving reports to Police. They are coming to take finger prints today. grizzly4 - 2010-01-19 08:13:00 |
| Everyone must be busy this week. I keep having mental blanks at work, it's taking a while to kick into gear and be my usual efficient self. Haha. grizzly4 - 2010-01-20 08:51:00 |
| "Greys is great" venna2 - 2010-01-20 13:20:00 |
| Hi grizzly. Bl---dy Monkeys. What a let down!!!!! It is gutwrenching at times. Been there had that happen. I have been so tired but getting back on track. Just minding M part time this week. Internet is playing up. I blame Telecom who seem to have eery excuse in the book. Ie Technical faults. Yeah sure. We all went up to Orewa today and had a relaxing day. Just come home via the Supermarket which was relatively quiet today. Yippee!!!!!. I got a call yesterday from my Organisation and found it darn hard to slip into work mode as well. Lol. makerealbany - 2010-01-20 18:38:00 |
| Hi venna2. Well I am or would be grey if I did not dye my hair. Ah vanity!!!!! one of my sins. I am in the Grey Power age group though. lol. makerealbany - 2010-01-20 18:41:00 |
| Have to say I was confused by venna2's message. I confess I have never used hair dye. I am blonde (no laughing please considering my mentioning mental blanks in my last message!) and I have no idea whether I will go grey or a mousey colour like my Mum. At 51 I'll probably find out soon enough. Haha. grizzly4 - 2010-01-21 08:41:00 |
| Nearly finished another prem jacket for the shop. But it's all I can do to keep my eyes open in the evenings. The coughing isn't helping either, I have to say. So much for expensive inhalers!! grizzly4 - 2010-01-22 08:32:00 |

| Hi there. My connection is still down. Darn it. I am on my granddaughter's laptop and my fingers are having a hard time with this darn cursur. I prefer a mouse. Plus she has it on my divan bed and I am all hunched over trying to type this!!!!!!!Don't laugh at that exciting vision. Lol.Busy as during the day and no time to knit tonight. dah. makerealbany - 2010-01-22 23:17:00 |
| Yep it's very visual that - you in bed with your laptop. I do agree though about preferring a mouse. Unless you are using a laptop all the time the things are terrible to use. And the programme is always different to what I have installed on my computer, too, takes me forever to do the simplest tasks. grizzly4 - 2010-01-23 09:01:00 |
| Still using the laptop but now have it on the kitchen table. Lol It is raining here off and on but not enough to fill the tanks yet. Just dropped my granddaughter way out in the country at her friend's place. A nice drive. I was hoping to drive to Hamilton to see my sister and my Mum but ran out of time. My grandson had to change the engine oil and the transmission oil in my car for me. Cheaper than the garage so I am very lucky. Went to the Library this arvo which was really busy. I enjoy visiting the Library. My tomatoes are pathetic but the cucumbers and chillies are doing well. Lettuces and silverbeet good but the potatoes are slow. My canna lillies are thriving, lavender and Impatiens are looking good but the roses have suffered. The wind has battered the roses. Babysitting tonight so just going to finish a cardi for little K. He had a haircut today. Have you ever done any felting grizzly? Looks different. makerealbany - 2010-01-23 15:50:00 |
| This laptop is so annoying. I keep losing posts etc. Not babysitting tonight now. The kids could not get into their movie so they are going tomorrow night. makerealbany - 2010-01-23 18:30:00 |
