Best of rewards sheets still seem to be holding good prices Don especially 2008 & 2009 ones.

Just looked at the 2010 Reptiles stamps.
They come in gummed ( which you can buy as singles )
and self adhesive ( which are on a sheet )

The m/sheet is actually the self adhesive stamps.

Plus there is a free gift of reptile stickers.

So if I want a single self adhesive Reptile stamp at the post office will they peel one off a sheet for me ?

Anyone know if the Imperforate sheets(sheets of 50 plus 1 of 100) obtained thru stamp points are postally valid?

Worth about 50 cents per packet at most. seeing as they cost less than that some 20 plus years ago that' not bad considering they are as common as can be. these type of stamps were issued specially for the stamp packet trade so millions of each were done mainly for sale to people who collected on a particular topic such as cats, ships, royalty etc.

I got so engrossed in my at home work I forgot to keep an eye on an auction and therefore lost it ... so had a look and no other ones listed for what I want ... so the question is what is the recommended perforation gauge - and roughly how much would I have to pay for one?

Aha, now NZ Post will keep their Chinese clients happy!

And the vendors of Tibet cals on Trademe won't have to reduce their prices (groan.)

spameater - 2010-02-26 12:56:00

Just spoke to Whanganui (26th March, 1.21 p.m.) and inquired if the cal packs are ready yet.

Meg says no, probably about the end of next week.

I asked "Why so late?" She replied that somebody put something in that wasn't supposed to be included, so they have to go through all the packs and remove the Tibet flag cals.

Does this remind anyone of the Teddy-Bear Health stamp, which were not going to be released? (But just a few sheets turned up at 2 small post offices!)

So what's the bet that 17 lucky buyers of the Cal Packs WILL find the rare Tibet flags included?

I am freaking out quietly here over the non arrival of the most expensive stamp purchase I have made on TM.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=268521318

I have had some correspondence by email but response is slow. The last email I had said he was going into the PO and would get back to me. That was over a week ago. I finally gave a neutral feedback as I'm a born optimist but I am worried that he no longer has any listings after having tons.
I seen in other threads that PO delivery of parcels has been erratic and sometimes taken weeks. I need advice...what do I do next to chase up both the parcel and tell TM?
I'm really disappointed as it was the goods I want, but like for all of us,the money is hardearned. It's wrecked my stampbuying budget for a longtime!!
Any advice gratefully received.

I know that this trader was moving this week so that might be why you haven't heard from him and your item is slow in getting to you. I know that there have been people with problems in the past with a relative of this trader. I have dealt with him several times and not personally had any issues. I hope that is works out for you as I know it's nerve racking waiting for an expensive item and you seem to have been waiting for a quite a while now. Good luck.

Looks like the increasingly dubious NZ Post Ltd gives poor training to its staff, and almost none to its "partners" or whatever Paper Plus is called.

(But really, at the end of the day, we all KNOW that Paper Plus and similar ARE NZ Post, just operating under a slightly different name for perceived tax benefits.)

The latest example left me flabbergasted:
I bought some books on Trademe, and asked the vendor to please use commemorative stamps on the parcel.

Here is her email in response:

Your parcel should arrive on Monday or Tuesday (if you haven't already got it!). I asked the lady at our post place (which is a Paper Plus) to put Commemorative stamps on it and she said "what are they?" and I wasn't sure myself. The best we could do was for her to use the stamps they had for their own use (from out the back). Hope you like them!

So despite Ivor Q Masters making great claims (no doubt all written for him by his highly-paid PR bunnies) about how much he is doing to "help philately", surely this shows his pretty words are worthless. So how about some basic training to your staff, and supplying Paper Plus with commems, Mister Masters? Maybe some of the money you waste on your "strangers-to-the-truth " PR boys could pay for some regular staff training!

I took the $9.50 option because I'd never had trouble with the PO service before and this was more expensive than when I'd bought albums of the same size before. I assume it was sent as I watched good feedback of similar purchases after mine. There was some comment on time taken but that was all. If he has gone back to Germany as has been suggested, where is it???? Grrr

Yes, that's the one. What does this all mean? I have made other small purchases from him with no trouble but now have just seen 2 new reds on his feedback and I have changed mine to red. What's the procedure with TM on this?

Oh dear ... I know it is not stamps but we are still waiting for printer ink and a xmas card that was sent early december. However the second lot (replacement for first lot) of ink was here the day after they sent it. Go figure!!!

Back to the stamp stuff ... that other site has gone quiet! I put in some options there to change and no bites yet.

By all means contact Trademe as they have been made aware of potential problems with this Trader for quite some time but they have taken no action.Trademe has in fact let you down after being warned MANY times from what I have been able to put together.
Most of the information I have gleamed from Scambusters but also from the collecting grapevine in Christchurch.I would say that a few more red faces are going to be added in the next couple of weeks.
Well done Trademe.

Hello stamp peoples, sorry for interupting your thread, can any of you people advise where and what I need to buy to value stamps? I have skimmed through your thread and see some of you mention a catalogue is this something I would need to get any idea of my stamps worth? I am not looking to sell them, more curious then anything as I recently inherited them from an estate. They appear to be all NZ stamps.. can someone point me in the right direction into where I would obtain a catalogue or the name of one or something? thanking you.
