Yes it has great potential but needs more input and members for it to really take off .
So far no bickering or fighting and some useful info.
The moderators seem to be fair and you cant run vendettas on members like you can here.

What a shame that efforts made to promote a stagnant hobby are shot down in flames by ignorant ,uninformed morons who more than likely have do do for brains.Surely any non commercial promotion of Philately (Stamp Collecting to the intellectually disabled).eg:-- Stamp Clubs ,Stamp Forums,Societies etc is a plus to Trademe?
Thoughts please?

Is Trademe doing one of its advertisers a disservice (NZ Post) by
regulating a hobby that is an important part of its income?

I very much doubt if that would work Don as they seem to have their heads buried in the sand but if complaints where made to NZ Post?
As they are one of their advertisers they should have more pull than us?
I wonder how much of NZ Post's yearly income is from Stamp Collectors?

It might be a long Bow to pull but Trademe suppressing Stamp collecting is surely a kick in the nuts to both NZ Post and Kiwibank who are major advertisers on Trademe?

Here is a good one a link to NZPost's Kids Club
http://stamps.nzpost.co.nz/Cultures/en-NZ/stamphunters/
I wonder if this will be removed?
I got this site by following the links posted by Trademe.

If the moderators remove this surely they are doing NZ Post a disservice let alone all the children and parents that will be buying stamps both from Trademe and NZpost?

I did see and read that but it goes contrary to the TM Tems and Conditions ... Posting a link to another site is promoting it ... thats the funny part ...

and rebel I whole heartedly agree that if they remove that link they are doing a disservice to their advertisers and from that point should stay, technically though it should go as it is promoting another site... I think the red tape has at least one big knot in it at the moment

Let's see how long this link lasts.
You can look up any of those acronyms you often see on message boards here:

has anybody got their 2009 cal pack??

Not yet, but I rang Whanganui last Friday and she said they were issued that day. According to her, the delay in issuing is because of the huge number of cals in each pack, therefore future annual packs are going to supply them in sheets. Now THAT will make for interesting se-tenants on mail!!

Mr/Miss Moderator .
I have just had a look at site stats over 10,000 listings in stamps alone and a 19% sell through rate .Do the sums not bad but with free promotion /education by Trademe members it could be better. Are you not doing your Australian owners a disservice by trying to Dumb down a stagnant Hobby? Why do you let a few Ignorant,Petty individuals ruin it for the rest?It seems to me that you are using Nazi type censorship to ruin a Hobby. Are we after World domination?do we kill people? No we collect Stamps.Smarten up Herr Moderator!!!!.

I am about to Catalogue my Chalon Collection, papers ,Perfs Still learning but stumbling on ,but the major wall I have come across is the colours/Shades.Every reference I have used so far is Campbell Patterson but they don't have a colour chart to back up their descriptions. It almost seams that they make up colours to suit them selves at random. SG on the other hand back up their descriptions with colour charts .I am thinking about dropping CP altogether and just using SG.Thoughts please?Good move?Have CP got there heads so far up there own backsides that they can only see Shades of Brown?Dark Sepia perhaps?

ref the Chalons, have you read Robert Odenweller's recent book? It has full-colour pics throughout, and I suggest that would be the best guide.

I was planning to look into that avenue but what does he relate his colour variations to CP ,SG or some that he has made up?

Perhaps the moderators at Stamps at Free Forums should remove the links to Trademe? and any mention of the Trademe name?
I think I might go and burn some books, pull the kids out of school etc

As we cant promote Stamp Collecting on Trademe I will promote Bananas!!!!!
Did you know?
Peel a banana from the bottom and you won't have to pick the little
'stringy things' off it. That's how the primates do it.

Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store.
If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.
The moral of this Post is bugger stamps lets collect Bananas instead.
