| You are amazing pinquspal! I love the things you have made. I think the pukekos are my favourite. If I had your rock cakes here my grandsons would go nuts!! grizzly4 - 2009-06-26 09:06:00 |
| They are gorgeous pinquspal We are all a great bunch with our mysterious ailments, aches and pains. But I think it is the crafts that we do that keep us all going. Grizzly, your pattern is in the post this morning, thanks so much, Jo smartgirl - 2009-06-26 09:40:00 |

| Hi Girls Got my haircut finally. Yipee. Got all the chores done, except the car is a pit. Too darn wet to clean. Busy few days with helping girls. Grandson is starting to recognize everyone. Little miss has been vomiting for 2 days. She was on antibiotics for her tonsilitis. First time she has had antobiotics. She is 18 months now. She is still her very busy, talkative, active little self and is taking fluids no prob so maybe it was a bug. Had her at Playgroup on Thursday. Seemed fine then. makerealbany - 2009-06-28 19:55:00 |
| How did the craft show go peppersha I only read your post tonight. I have been too busy to even check my emails. Dash. makerealbany - 2009-06-28 19:58:00 |
| well I havent been able to do anything either I have had the dreaded bug with flu and my brand new computer died on friday and it has gone back to the supplier, i am not very happy, I only had it 12 days smartgirl - 2009-06-29 18:09:00 |
| You are not having a good time, smartgirl! It's awful when you think everything is going ok and something else crops up. KInd of like my finances till the power bill comes in!! grizzly4 - 2009-06-30 10:31:00 |
| Oh smartgirl What a b-gger! I hate it when technology lets you down. My son has my computer all sorted so I am picking him up for tea on Saturday and then I will be away. I hope!!!!Daughter flat tack at work so I have had my grand daughter a lot lately feeling some what jaded. Ha ha. makerealbany - 2009-06-30 11:33:00 |
| Radiology dept at hospital Was on the ball this morning. I was in and out by 9-30. Lovely as I was in a hurry to get back to mind little Miss. I am not in a rush to see my power bill grizzly. It has been so cold though so I do not feel guilty !!!! makerealbany - 2009-06-30 11:37:00 |
| I agree about not feeling guilty I'm not going cold for anybody and I'm not having the house looking like a laundry either while things dry. I use the dryer for one load a day. But never for towels. I'm not on the cheaper rate either because the hot water always runs out by teatime dishes. Hate that. grizzly4 - 2009-07-01 09:09:00 |
| Power and gas bills are the pits, that is after faulty computers. I got my bill last week and because of the colder weather I used the same amount for the last 2 months as I would for the next 2 which are the coldest. God only knows what that bill will be smartgirl - 2009-07-01 12:38:00 |
| Thats my fear too Landlord put a heat pump in 3 weeks ago. Was in 10 days before the bill came which was $70 more even though hubby was back at work and no-one home. Was always told to leave heat pump going on lowest temperature but this month using timer to turn off completely while we aren't here. Goes on an hour before I get home. I'm not a fan really, they still swirl the air making it quite draughty no matter which way we point the direction of heat. Give me a column heater any day. grizzly4 - 2009-07-02 09:21:00 |
| Had a tummy bug here M had it then I caught it. We are on the mend now though. Other children at playgroup all went down with it the day after playgroup. Our power bill has jumped as well. When you see all the millions profit the power companies make it makes you mad. Rightly so too thats what happens when the govt does not protect the consumers. makerealbany - 2009-07-02 11:07:00 |
| I am starting to wonder what this government has in store for us in the not too distant future. Funding decreasing for community groups at alarming levels, and noticing changes around the childcare subsidy for working parents. Imagine how that will affect families if they stop that, or even decrease it? grizzly4 - 2009-07-03 09:10:00 |
| I agree grizzly My sis who is a Director of a Community Agency told me that the Government have not renewed some contracts and people are already falling between the cracks. Our Agency I do Voluntary work for are starting to worry as well. Plus the unemployment levels are rising. Some employers are using every trick in the book to get rid of workers. makerealbany - 2009-07-03 19:58:00 |
| Renewing contracts with some alarming conditions i Workers sign because they need to retain their jobs. It will get worse unfortunately until this darn recession is over. makerealbany - 2009-07-03 20:00:00 |
| There will be lots of jobs up for grabs if there is no childcare support for families, especially single parent families. Everyone will be back on DPB!! I did become aware this week that some of my ex-clients have had the Merena provided as a contraceptive method free because they are on a benefit! Only one out of 4 had a medical condition that warranted this expense. My daughter paid hundreds for this as a last option for her endo. grizzly4 - 2009-07-04 10:06:00 |
| Hi girls off to Rotorua again Mum had a stroke and is still in Hospital and as you can imagine heaps to sort out. My daughter and her Hubby are taking me back so at lest this nervous wreck does not have to drive. Catch you all later. makerealbany - 2009-07-05 10:48:00 |
| Well back home again Until the weekend then I am off again. Mum was transfered to Rehab on Sunday night and had another turn so is back in the Medicak Ward. She is weak but still chatty. I think she tried to walk too soon. We took our newest grandson and her latest great grandson down to see her and she was delighted. She had been crying the night before telling my sisters she would not get to see him. We stayed a night and took him back the next day with a nice photo of him framed wearing his Taonga Mum got one of our carvers to make so she has his picture next to her. She smiles at his photo all the time my sisters say. makerealbany - 2009-07-07 21:53:00 |
| oops I mean't to say Medical Ward They are just lovely the staff in there. One of our Whanau always stays the night unless she sends them home. She is very independant and get mad about "fussing". She looks so darn tiny these days. She can look out the window of the hospital and see her Whare down in the village. We saw her 2 cats the other day sitting in the backyard. makerealbany - 2009-07-07 21:57:00 |
| Oh malereal, I am so sorry to read about your mum, I hope she makes a fast recovery, she sure has the right attitude. So glad you took the wee babies to see her. Keep us posted and know that we are thinking about you all. Take care. smartgirl - 2009-07-08 09:59:00 |
| Thanks smartgirl She had another turn so she is up and down. We are trying to organize so much and it is hard as you can guess. My SIL is due back from overseas tonight and hopefully he will pull his weight and I can go back to Rotorua for awhile. I am not happy with his behaviour at this time. Why is it we have several things happening at the same time. Men can be such swines at times. makerealbany - 2009-07-08 15:18:00 |
| Forgot I now have my computer Set up in the cottage. I have to give it a good clean though. Thanks boys for all your hard work. makerealbany - 2009-07-08 15:24:00 |
| I am so sorry to hear about your mum, makerealbany. I have a head cold AGAIN! Thank goodness it is nothing worse. Starting work really early this week so not much time to check in with your newsy bits unless I leave the dishes. Haha. grizzly4 - 2009-07-09 07:53:00 |
| Leave the dishes grizzly They will be waiting when you get home. Ha ha. Seriously though I do my dishes and then the the kitchen looks clean. I am off to Rotorua on Saturday . All the violence there makes me glad I do not live there. It has been dreadful lately. So many Domestic Violence cases and Child Abuse stats are horrendous. Drink lots of water for your head cold maybe it is the airconditioning at work. makerealbany - 2009-07-09 23:00:00 |
| Up early Could not go back to sleep. Got some Bella Baby Layette for $2 a ball from Spotlight yesterday. I was pleased with that. Have to pack a small suitcase of wool to take to Mums. Ha ha. I have a list of Birthdays for July so will get all that knitting done while I am away. makerealbany - 2009-07-10 07:38:00 |
| well we were down to 113. Makereal I hope your mum is doing ok and that you are getting through all that wool you have with you. How are you grizzly, I have the dreaded bug. smartgirl - 2009-07-15 20:02:00 |
| I am fine Mum is progressing Knitted like a loon whilst I was sitting with Mum. She has improved so I am home again and we have home help going in 3 times a day. I came home last night. Mum came out of hospital on Wednesday and told me to come home. She has been in for 2 weeks and is sick of people fussing around her. Ha ha. She is very independant and as always been a bit of a loner in her later years. makerealbany - 2009-07-17 18:26:00 |
| Hi makereal, I have been so worried about your mum, and am so releived to hear she is coming right. I see zoe has been disabled. I hope she is ok. I wonder if I should go around and see. What do you girls think. smartgirl - 2009-07-18 10:38:00 |
| Hi smartgirl That might be a good idea as you have met her before. Hope she is okay. Yes I spoke to Mum this morning and she says she is okay. Pretending she is not home so I ring everyday and we have a code. Ha ha. She is a character. makerealbany - 2009-07-18 14:31:00 |
| Another lousy day weatherwise Have heaps to do having been away. Amazing the dust that collects. ha ha. Car needs cleaning again. Girlfriend gave me a pile of nets for my cottage. She only put them up last year, got her windows tinted and does not want them. They are a heavy lace so I am a very lucky girl. Now I need a good day to wash them all. makerealbany - 2009-07-19 17:00:00 |
| How are things grizzly How is the real estate going? makerealbany - 2009-07-19 17:01:00 |
| Sorry I haven't been very chatty... It's been a difficult month really. Into the third week of my 3rd cold. Coughing all the time. grizzly4 - 2009-07-20 08:44:00 |
| Sorry to hear you still have yet another cold grizzly. Mum not too good again and my sisters are driving me insane. They all have different opinions as well as ownership complexs. Sigh. I ring Mum twice a day but one of my younge sisters has picked her up for 2 days which makes it easier. I have a few other family probelms so it has been a lousy month. Just when you think things are picking up. Wham another crisis. Can only get better I hope. Ha ha. Have to keep our sence of humour girls. makerealbany - 2009-07-21 16:54:00 |
| Definitely go along with that! Everything seems to happen at once! I really enjoyed having baby B every morning for the last week, now I miss him to bits even though it's a bit of a relief to get on with other things as well. Having a few problems with our landlord who lives in the front property with a shared drive. No visitors allowed up drive except the my kids when they have the wee ones with them. We have done everything possible to meet these restrictions, believe me! However when son-in-law picked up B on 2 different days last week he was abused and blocked in so he couldn't leave. I was so angry and have told landlord to rethink our lease (which isn't up till next April) if we are such bad tenants. We would be happy to move at this point. Haven't heard anything since but still quite stressed about the whole thing on this side of the fence! grizzly4 - 2009-07-22 09:43:00 |
| Grizzly, he is being rediculous, I would much rather have tenants like you than young one, then he would really have a problem. grumpy old ba***rd. smartgirl - 2009-07-22 11:02:00 |
| I agree grizzly What a creep. He cannot tell you who can come in and out your driveway. If it is shared and he is in the front he cannot by law block access. Tell hubby to check the lease and look up the conditions at his work. makerealbany - 2009-07-22 12:44:00 |
| Then put a complaint into the Tenancy Tribunal You must have access to the property you rent. makerealbany - 2009-07-22 12:46:00 |
| Hope you can sort out that Landlord grizzly My son's tenants on the other hand insist on letting their friends park on the shared grass area on the side of the townhouse espeicially when it is wet and they got bogged in. Had to get a towtruck to get them out. We fixed the pipes they damaged because water was pouring out. Dah. Asked the tenant not to let friends park on the grass as they can fit 4 cars in at the front of the townhouse but have a feeling that will be ignored. Next time they pay for any damage to the pipes. Wish you were the tenant grizzly. They are lovely people and we pay to mow the lawns so it always looks tidy but they never, ever open a window even in nice weather. makerealbany - 2009-07-24 20:05:00 |
| Nice day today Managed to get a bit done outside which was great but oh my back. Sure get a reminder when you suddenly stretch those unused muscles. Ha ha. Baked the tradional Chocolate cake for J'S 15th Birthday party tomorrow. Knitted him a thick black beanie and matching scarf for rugby of course. My e;dest grandson is 21 tomorrow but we are having that party next week in Hamilton. He wants clothes but is not into hats or scarves. Pity ha ha. I will buy him a sweatshirt during the week. makerealbany - 2009-07-25 20:15:00 |
| Hi smartgirl Did you see Zoe? makerealbany - 2009-07-25 20:16:00 |
| What a great day It is a perfect day out there. Iam going to ice the cake then wash the car before we go to Lunch. It was freezing last night though. My daffodils are popping out of the ground and so are the tulips. After all the rain I thought they would have rotted away. Nice surprize to see not all of them have. Hope you all have a good day, enjoy the sun if you have it girls. makerealbany - 2009-07-26 10:05:00 |
| Sunny here, too. I've cleared out the vege garden except for the rhubarb but can't plan anything else until we sort out what's happening. He blocked me in twice on Friday. Delayed my going to work (I should charge him my hourly rate, eh?) and then again when I came home had to leave my car half way up the drive 'cos I couldn't get him to shift his van. It's all very stressful and yes hubby is looking into the Tenancy tribunal tomorrow. Trouble is it costs so much to shift each time I never seem to get ahead. It's lovely to hear about you pottering in your garden, makeralbany. grizzly4 - 2009-07-26 10:15:00 |
| That nasty man Is really horrible grizzly. I cannot understand some people. Does he want to rent his property or doesn't he? I always advice people never to rent a property if the driveway is shared and the Landlord or owner lives there. Generally they believe they can do what they like and make impossible demands. It does cost heaps to shift too. I had a fab day and ate so much I am just having cuppas tonight ha ha. makerealbany - 2009-07-26 20:08:00 |
| He is a horrible man, I feel so sorry for y ou grizzly. Beautiful day here too. I have not been to see Zoe as I am still trying to shake this bug. I have no little ones till Thursday so hopefully I will catch up with her before then. smartgirl - 2009-07-26 20:59:00 |
| Raced down your way today smartgirl I had to get my son there for a GP'S appointment to get a tempory Sickness Benefit while he fights his ACC Cut off. We are waiting for them to give us the file so we can prepare the case for Review. They have a nasty habit of Purging files when Reviews are imminent. We know what we have but we want to see what they have. Had to leave home at 6-30. Got back at 3-30 and was so beggered went straight to bed. Woke up at 8 and cooked myself pasta for tea. Hell it is so stressful fighting Red tape and Govt depts. He has such a supportive GP so that helps. makerealbany - 2009-07-27 22:48:00 |
| I know exactly how you feel, I am going there tomorrow. I have got 2 weeks of acc left. My injury is now healed, so they say and even though the symptons are the same it is now arthritis. Funny that. smartgirl - 2009-07-27 23:37:00 |
| This message was deleted. peppersha - 2009-07-28 11:45:00 |
| Hi Peppersha Congratulations girl. That is strange about the mini pill. I don't even know how that works. Do you take it every day or what? makerealbany - 2009-07-28 23:14:00 |
| Yes smartgirl That is typical calling it arthritis now.I guess everyone has arthritis as far as acc is concerned. Espeicially as they are having a major overhall and dumping clients left right and centre. makerealbany - 2009-07-28 23:16:00 |
