| You guys make me feel almost brave about this! Can't be too relaxed as I'm driving myself to and fro! Haha. Knitting a new aran pattern in 6 months size for shop currently. Found some lovely aran patterns on TM. Really want to do another for myself, too. grizzly4 - 2009-06-05 08:42:00 |
| I have finally had my mri and have been told that I have degeniritive (sp) bone disease. One of my lower discs has gone. At least I know why I am in so much pain. Grizzly, I love aran knitting. smartgirl - 2009-06-05 12:21:00 |
| I like aran knitting too grizzly Aran and Fairisle were Mum's favourites. Yes it is not much fun driving yourself to and from the specialist visits. makerealbany - 2009-06-05 16:59:00 |
| Peppersha it is a bright sort of Ming blue. Tried the basil tea not bad. I love Bergamot tea best. makerealbany - 2009-06-05 17:00:00 |
| Yep smartgirl After I crushed my discs they said they would degenerate as time goes by. Like the rest of me. Ha ha. But bl----dy painful. You get used to it and you learn to manage the back pain as well as what triggers it off. I helped clean out the playgroup room and lifted some heavy boxes. Dope that I am so paying for it today. Trouble is over the years you adjust and then forget you have probelms and whammo. You get a reminder. Ha ha. I know that may not seem so as you are in a lot of pain but when it settles for a bit you will see what I mean. makerealbany - 2009-06-05 17:07:00 |
| Had an early nights sleep And back feels better today. Weather not too good so washing on the racks. Have to do the weekly shop for son and drop it off in Remuera. SIL off to get base course to put my shed on. Tomorrow I can collect all my stuff including heaps of my mosaic stuff and organize it all in my own shed. Hurrah. I will have more space in the cottage and I will be able to find things. I have to move things to get to what I want as far as crafts go at the moment. I have waited for nearly 3 years for my shed. makerealbany - 2009-06-06 12:15:00 |
| Home again after son's shopping Now I am going to sit, watch a movie and knit. Stopped into library but could not get that book yet peppersha. Got a few others though. I love to browse in the library. makerealbany - 2009-06-06 17:01:00 |
| Just had a nice family tea I have relaxed all day, which basically means I have pottered around. Sewed up a set for little grandson and did half of the scarf for DIL,s Mum. Have you girls ever had your mohair brushed? An elderly friend of mine always used to do it but she is no longer with us and I cannot remember how or why she did it. makerealbany - 2009-06-07 17:52:00 |

| thanks peppersha, we have not got that far but I like the ideas of taking calciun tablets. you are a ray a sunshine. I am looking forward to getting my new computer tomorrow afternoon. they are coming to install it for me so at least it will be set up right. smartgirl - 2009-06-07 18:59:00 |

| I agree with peppersha About the calcium. I take strong doses every day. Gp prescibed it because of back condition and Osteo Arthritis so I only pay $3 for 3 months supply. Ask your GP for scriot smartgirl. The shed is up and ready for me to put stuff in but my back is too sore today and the bl----dy foot is so swollen. I want a foot transplant. Ha ha. I am knitting today. Last day before SIL is off again for a month so I am making the most of it. makerealbany - 2009-06-08 10:53:00 |
| Your Merino Layettes are just beautiful smartgirl. Every now and then I take a peek at them. I love the patterns. You are a excellent knitter girl. makerealbany - 2009-06-08 10:56:00 |
| Thanks makereal, I have to be good at something I will get some when I go to the doctor next. I am very sore today, it must be the weather, at least that is my excuse. smartgirl - 2009-06-08 11:02:00 |
| well, my new baby is up and running i am so happy with it. i have heaps of knitting to do so i dont have time to play with it at the moment. i hope you are all having a great day smartgirl - 2009-06-08 16:48:00 |
| You are not going to believe this!!! My hospital appointment is tomorrow and now I have a head cold and I can't go! Grrrrrr!!! grizzly4 - 2009-06-08 19:18:00 |
| I have been having fun redoing hubby's wardrobe. Converting him from truckie and his trackpants and polar fleece tops of the last year to dressy pants and shirts with beautiful ties. Bought him a lovely grey wool zipped jacket from Farmers when he started and this weekend spent my craft money on a beautiful cream merino cable jersey for him. Had lots of fun but wasn't a cheap exercise. Feel sorry for him come summer as he will still have to wear long sleeves as he has tattoos on his forearms. Trouble with swapping one life for another I guess. grizzly4 - 2009-06-09 08:14:00 |
| SIL gone again and mum at work M is full of beans today and we have a lot to do. I am trying to get her down for a nap. Good luck with that!!!! ha ha. How exciting having your new computer smartgirl. Do you have trouble sleeping? Maybe a muscle relaxant would help. Knocks me for 6 when I take them but at lest you sleep. makerealbany - 2009-06-09 09:57:00 |
| What a bu--er grizzly Murphys law and all that. Never mind sounds as if you are having fun with hubby's ward drobe. Some of the tattoos are very artistic but I know what you mean. makerealbany - 2009-06-09 10:00:00 |
| The Darn Corrections Dept Want the local Community hall back for training. Say What. We use it for all sorts of things including Playgroup. We cannot have it this week as they are training. But on a permanent basis it will be a blow to our community. I will be going to the meeting on Wed night to voice my opinions most strongly. Now I want to do some research on the history. makerealbany - 2009-06-10 11:52:00 |
| I have calmed down now after A visit to see my little grandson. Isn't it amazing how our babies and littlies calm us down. I feel almost serene. Ha ha. Just showered little miss and I got as wet as she did and I had my clothes on. Ha ha. She loves her little cousin to bits. She has to sit next to her aunty on the couch so she can pat him and go OH OH. She tiptoes around if he is in bed asleep. It is hilarious watching her watching him. I am trying to find some black mohair I have which is hiding from me, I swear. Have looked and looked in boxes and baskets. I remember buying it so it must be there, right. makerealbany - 2009-06-10 19:28:00 |
| Hi Girls Where is everyone. Hope you are not all sick. makerealbany - 2009-06-11 13:40:00 |

| Thats going to be a real pain for you peppersha. No comparison between 4Square prices and Woolworths! Makeralbany, that stinks about your hall, its not as af the Corrections department don't have enough money to go somewhere else. The built purpose built buildings twice on this side of Christchurch alone! Who owns the building? Would your Community advisor at the City Council be able to help at all? Council will be very keen not to lose little community groups like playgroups etc. grizzly4 - 2009-06-12 09:34:00 |
| I am having today off work I still have a dreadful cold and then hurt my hip in the shower this morning. Went back to bed for half an hour till the pain eased and then half way through getting dressed the heat pump people arrived on the wrong day. I really couldn't face them in here today so packed them off till next week.I've lasted pretty well the rest of the week with this cold so maybe I deserve to rest up today with my needles and my wool and the 4th book of Twilight. And a cup of tea or two. grizzly4 - 2009-06-12 09:38:00 |
| Poor girls, darn bugs I am over my last bout. Thank heavens. I had not heard about that peppersha. Was it an accident? I hope it wasn't arson. That will make it a lot harder for you and the rest of your community. We are having meetings this week to arrange a plan of defence so to speak grizzly. Once we have more facts and solid data we will know where we are going with this. Just do not get any worse bugs than you have already. I cannot handle tradesmen or anyone else if I have the flu or a cold. Everyone knows someone who is sick this winter. I might get the flu injection next year. I have resisted but because of my low immune system have decided to get it. Tuck up with that book of yours grizzly and a nice cuppa. makerealbany - 2009-06-12 19:39:00 |

| Hi Girls What a busy weekend and the week ahead looks no easier for me either. Sigh. Meetings Tuesday and Wednesday nights. A letter to write for our playgroup. Agm info to get ready. M to babysit Tues. wed and Thurs. Son's House to do property inspection on and heaven knows when I can get a haircut. Ah well they say if you want a job done give it to a busy person. They forgot to add never, ever volunteer. Ha ha. Started stashing stuff in my shed today. Cottage starting to look more spacious. Lol. makerealbany - 2009-06-15 19:55:00 |
| Hi there... slowly getting over my cold but I've given it to hubby. I feel awful 'cos he's only been back at work a short time. Had a lovely weekend with the family. Littlest grandson B turned one yesterday! Where does the time go? grizzly4 - 2009-06-16 08:39:00 |
| Grizzly I think little Miss is getting my cold. I am well but she was sniffly yesterday and her Mum has a very sore throat. My DIL and other granddaughter are down with the flu. Hope baby does not get it. His teenage brother was sent home from school because he attendeda Birthday party of a girl at Westlakes and they are in Quarantine because some of the pupils tested positive for swine flu. He did not feel sick yesterday. I will ring around to check on everyone after a much needed cuppa. makerealbany - 2009-06-16 11:03:00 |
| One of our programmes is closed for a week because the associated school was closed yesterday. I had to get groceries yesterday morning and who do I find in the mall? but some of the families who were sent home!!!! I know we are not going to avoid this in the end but being responsible would help, eh? grizzly4 - 2009-06-17 08:23:00 |
| You are not kidding grizzly Some people are either thick or think they are indestructable. Jolly idiots. Running off to the other meeting. Catch you tomorrow. makerealbany - 2009-06-17 18:41:00 |
| May have bitten off I bit more than I can chew this time! DIL bought a satin strapless dress off TM but it's too small for her. She really wants to wear it on Saturday night and has asked me to put panels in the back. Definitely not turning out as straight forward as I thought and I'm running out of time!!!! grizzly4 - 2009-06-19 08:16:00 |
| Oh Oh grizzly I can relate to that. Only did it once never again. When you are under a time restraint it is diabolical. I am racing at night to finish my DIL's Birthday Pressie. I am in Orewa. My eldest girl is so tired. I coloured her hair for her last night and she is getting a haircut now. Bubs is playing up a bit but Nana has him in the palm of her hand literally. Ha ha. makerealbany - 2009-06-19 10:37:00 |
| Daughter home and looks great Isn't it amazing what a haircut can do to one? Bubs is fast asleep. I have decided to come up every Thursday night so I can do the housework, change the bedding, etc and mind bubs so she can relax and do some othe stuff for herself. Bubs is breastfed so we have to be really organized. makerealbany - 2009-06-19 11:07:00 |
| See! You are making even more commitments to your family!! Yo have so much energy, you are amazing! grizzly4 - 2009-06-20 09:11:00 |
| you really are amazing makereal, I can hardly do my own housework let alone any one elses. Mr 17 slipped last week and put his foot through a window and has cut the tendon in his big toe. Since he came home after a few nights in hospital he has hogged the computer. smartgirl - 2009-06-21 09:42:00 |
| Oh that will hurt smartgirl, poor lad Yes they sit and do computer therapy as my son says. Ha ha. I felt really old yesterday watching my grandson play rugby. I got tired just watching him running. Ha ha. Had a nice morning tea for DIL,s birthday. Baked Gluten free muffins for them and she loved her Scarf and hat. I knitted it from Paton's Lush Mohair. I bought it years ago, knitted a cardi and had some left. I have not found another Mohair I like as much although I have bought heaps of Mohair brands. Some of them have been really harsh. makerealbany - 2009-06-21 19:05:00 |
| Just remember I only have a one bedroomed cottage to clean girls. Ha ha. My car could do with a good going over but I have the ability to ignore that. I think I am making up for when I was in Real Estate grizzly and I had to have it spotless inside and out. These days are so much easier. makerealbany - 2009-06-21 19:08:00 |
| Yeah, I see a pattern forming here around washing cars. Hubby brings the work car home to clean but runs out of time to do ours! Hehe!! grizzly4 - 2009-06-23 09:13:00 |
| Congrats on Getting that dress finished grizzly. I still have not had the time to get a haircut or clean the car. Thursday I intend to do both those chores. Arthritis is attacking another darn finger so typing is a bit painful at the mo. I am so glad you will finally see the specialist. My appointment is next Tues at the hospital and I am looking forward to it. I just want confirmation that the inflammation in my foot is not just psychological. Lol. makerealbany - 2009-06-23 18:20:00 |
| Hi Zoe How are you. I see you have a couple of listings so thought I would say hi from us all makerealbany - 2009-06-23 18:33:00 |

| Hi pinguspal Welcome. Bil used to make things from polymer clay but we have not heard from her for ages. I got some really lovely buttons from her. Stem cell stuff sounds very scary. makerealbany - 2009-06-24 14:55:00 |
| Without crafts we would all be wrecks I reckon. Making things is what keeps me going and sane. Ha ha. makerealbany - 2009-06-24 14:56:00 |
| Hi Pinquspal welcome to a sane and fun part of our worlds! Sounds like you have had a tough couple of years, I'm sorry to hear that. grizzly4 - 2009-06-25 09:01:00 |

| Hi grizzly My mum always says she has a mysterious malady. Lol. That just means the doctors can not work out what the hell is wrong. Well at lest you are one medication less and they did not find anything so maybe no news is good news and your cough will just go away. You might be allergic to something at work girl. makerealbany - 2009-06-25 22:28:00 |
| Wow pinguspal Those rocks of yours do look good enough to eat. Makes me hungry just looking at them. Lovely art. makerealbany - 2009-06-25 22:31:00 |
