Ohh Mica so pleased she has returned..

Thats the sucky bit they seldom tell us where they have been.. the Monkeys.

Thats another part of why we stopped letting our cats out, and Im glad cos down our shared driveway there are dogs in 4 of the 6 houses , and some over the back of our place too.

it's getting warm outside! Two happy hours weeding the roadside but the main bit is going to need either the weed wacker or mowed and then sprayed. I rarely weed there as the traffic is really busy and no one slows down. Lockdown though is great for this so I'll get it done when my stitches are out.

Good to hear puss is home, Mica :) The Furry One threw up on the couch. Just as well it's leather and the throw caught most of it. He's been off his food for a few days so maybe that's just what he needed. Although he could have done it outside lol.

Time for a cuppa, kettle's boiled.

Good afternoon - cloud hasn’t burned off here yet but it’s certainly warm - when we shifted to Oz we took the dog and our Manx cat with us - he had only lived in one house all his life - I thought he stayed close to home but he went missing once and several people contacted me who he used to visit regularly - I was terrified when we moved he would try and get back to Taupo so we had a set of cages built with a tunnel up under the eaves so he could go round the whole section and drop down into cages and hammocks - he still managed to catch a rat and have a fight with a possum through the cage - possum are protected over there and one night my husband leapt out of bed as it was sitting outside our bedroom window hissing at the cat - he grabbed the broom as he ran out the door and swung it in the dark - he broke the bedroom window and the possum went to heaven - the fine was $500 for killing a possum so as you can imagine it was discreetly disposed of

morning ladies :) It's going to be another stunning day here today.

lmao gerry, omg, I would have discreetly disposed of the possum too. I find it hard to believe they protect possums in Aussie. But I suppose they must think along the same lines with us finding them a pest. The cage system was a great idea for puss :)

I'm up early as I've decided buggar it, the lawn needs mowing. It's been 10 days since the last mow and thanks to the rain and warm weather we've had, it looks like a cow paddock. If I empty the catcher when half full, it won't be quite so heavy. Everything grows so fast in the Waikato. A lady in the rose group I belong to posted her roses have opened too early for her to display them at her local rose show this year. I'm sure mine are two weeks early and I have never had the bearded iris' and dutch iris' flowering together before.

I started quilting the quilt top yesterday but am disappointed with it so will unpick what I have done and have another think about it.

Popeye, I had the same issue with Flickr that you had so changed my password and that worked. Turned out I had been using Flickr years ago and forgotten about it lol. So try logging in and click on change my password and see if that works.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Its warm already. I hope the fan in the car behaves today. I think the wire must be loose and it wont go some times.

Thanks Kiwimade I will look at that today... I spent most of the morning on the phone yesterday.

I got the Santas finished and on fb. but Im not happy with the beards on two of them so will have a tutu later and fix them. Glad I sew things in a way that I can undo it if needed.

Yeah I dont understand why the Aussies like possums.. its crazy to me too.

Im going out lol YAYAYAY... Have to do my bloods, finally take library books back, Im glad they are wiping the fines. And have several places to do in town.
I will get back to the blanket once I have adjusted the Santas. Ive sold one to a school friend from Primary school. So we have known each other for 50ish years.
Ill be going to spotlight too, I confirmed that I could just take a photo of my voucher.

Its the two on the left, their sideburns should be longer or under the hat a bit more.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all
A bit of cloud but its warm already.
Sounds like everyone is busy with gardening and sewing. Sorry you are doing some frog stitching KM but you have to be happy with the quilting or it will bud you forever.
Feline is back to her usual routine moochng around the house ,we built a cat containment 18 years ago then cage entrance is in my sewing cave and it runs along the side of the house into 90sq m enclosure. We did keep our last 2 cats totally contained indoors with walks on a harness. Current puss is scaredy cat and local bullies keep her at home usually. We suspect they had her cut off her entry points which are all managed by her microchip but that doesn't stop them trying to get into our house on a daily basis.
Up to body of sleevless cardi its a zigzag lacey pattern, had to frog stitch a couple of times, I will need to concentrate while knitting this one.
Volunteer day today, then food hunting at the supermarket
Enjoy your day out Popeye
Enjoyed your possum story Gerry I suppose the Aussies have to protect their native species just like we do.
Have a good day

Good morning - high cloud warm HB morning - used to dread this sort of weather when we had the orchard - the trees were very confused
I could have written a book on the experiences my cat had in Oz - first month we were there one morning he came flying back inside through the cat door and straight under the bed the next thing there was something pounding the roof - sounded like a volcano eruption then the noise started - over 100 big white cockatoos had arrived to strip our walnut tree - I have a photo somewhere - took them ten minutes to strip our huge tree then they flew off down the road to the neighbours tree - they returned every year and he never got used to them - seeing them all in flight was magnificent- another evening I thought the end of the world was nigh the sky went black with thousands of batts heading to the local cherry orchard - it’s a very different country - the birds are so strident - unlike our beautiful tui
Better get cracking

Our previous boycat bob was a Kleptomaniac.

Honestly the things he came home with. Kids toys, little wee babies socks but the best or worst was a wooden spoon. but it had batter on it, so obviously someone turned their back and he swiped it.

I would have thought the possums would strip the Eucalyptus trees..

The oddest thing we had in our back yard was a deer.. We lived surrounded by Kaiangaroa Forrest and all the houses had back roads, backing onto the forest and I looked out the back door and there was a stag standing on our back driveway lol... You weren't allowed to use guns in the village sadly or he would have filled the freezer lol

morning ladies :) A slightly overcast morning this morning and we are supposed to have some rain.

I mowed the lawn yesterday with a bit of MrK's help. He moved the wheelie bin for me as it became heavier and emptied one catcher load. Better than nothing I suppose. It took a bit longer with me stopping to empty a half full catcher and the grass was longer and wet which didn't help.

I'm still unpicking my quilt, a slow process but I'll get that done today. I have some Christmas things I want to sew using some Christmas fabric I have left over from stockings I sewed a few years ago.

I love your Santas popeye, and I see what you mean about the sideburns. I think I would change them too. And I saw you 'made it' to the other message boards :) Only today and tomorrow left for this board.

Aww mica, your poor puss. Cats can be real bullies. At least the bullies can't come inside. We used to have a blackbird come inside and steal the cat biscuits, he was lucky our old girl was too old to catch him.

Housework for me today. I stripped the bed yesterday to make the most of the sunshine so at least I don't have that to do today.

happy crafting :)

Morning everyone.

Oh Kiwimade please do be careful. Yeah Im not happy at all with the side burns, My mind wasnt turned on when I sewed them up I dont think lol.

When our previous girlcat got us she was a right tart. We had two foxies that she got past to chose us. We decided since she got past them she would be fine. We had like a circle with the doors which meant there was a race track through the lounge dining room and kitchen. She used to chase those poor dogs around there until they were worn out. Lol... They were tolerant tho cos they never tried to bite her or anything lol. or scared lol

15th I think the boards are leaving... I kinda feel reblious and want to use our names, and not talk craft lol

I got $27 worth of beads from spotlight for $10-25 yesterday. Had to get two large bags cos I wanted red and white ones.. And found another small packet that has 6 frangipani flower beads that will be perfect on the top of the fairy Sticks. And while I was in the warehouse I found 3 balls of a pretty green yarn with sequins in that I instantly thought would make a nice scarf. only $2-28 per 100 gram ball.

I did enjoy being in normal shops and everyone else appeared to be as well.. Well apart from a poor lady I saw with twin boys. Im guessing were 7ish who were performing about which shoes they wanted. It was hot and I was beyond sore when I got home.
I forgot to get some lemonade to make some more scone on Monday, thought Id take some fresh out of the oven for MrP so will go get that this morning and take a look at the recycle centre and opp shop now they are open.

Have a fab day everyone..

Morning all rain over night and expect more showers today. It will rain when I am in town with DD. Going with her to wrangle DgD while DD has her haircut.
I was very tired yesterday so the cat joined me in a nana nap.
Made a mistake in lace pattern last night pretty impossible to unpick so frog stitch to beginning and just doing plain knitting. The pattern is 16 rows and difficult to read when just starting. Will look out simpler lace pattern and try again next time.

KM unpicking quilting takes so much longer than it actually takes to stitch it in the first place.
Popeye glad you made it to new place knew you would get there.
Have a good day everyone

Here's my 'rebellion' lol.
mica, have you seen this quilting site? Gorgeous bags here. I've downloaded a free pattern to see how I go before I buy one.

https://www.byannie.com/patterns

I'll put t he link on the other message board too.

Time to run the vacum over the floor with some help from the Furry One. I must video him 'helping' me and show you. It takes twice as long to vacum but we have fun.

Oh yes KM I have made a couple of the patterns bag for my laptop and nappy clutch. By Annie has some good you tube tutorials
If you are into bags look at Emmaline bags website made a few necessary clutch purses and I sometimes watch Lauren Mormons on you tube .
Lots lovely stuff to make but not the time to make them.
VoodooRabbit a shop in Australia usually has all the stabilisers and interfacing as well as the hardware. Shipping cost an arm and a leg from US for the same stuff
Just off to town,
travelling up the line tomorrow to Palmerston North, quilting demo and then brunch with friends have to leave early so prob nopost from me tomorrow

morning ladies :) Wow, we've had and are having, some rain. I have a fuchsia I need to plant so the weather is perfect for that today.

I had a look at those sites, mica, I'm going to need a lot more time lol. So many ideas out there.

Today I'll do a bit of Christmas sewing. I've found a cute, easy pattern for Christmas decorations and a pattern for summer hats for the grandkids. It's just a simple bucket hat but the sizing goes from small kiddies right up to adults so it's a keeper and it's free.

https://www.moodfabrics.com/blog/the-bucket-hat-free-sewing-
pattern/

MrK has the cucumbers, chilli, courgette and beans planted and we are looking forward to our summer vegie crop. Tomatoes were planted last week. And we are going to have (fingers crossed) a good crop of plums too. It will be our first from these trees. Our worm farm is going great guns and we have had to stop feeding them for a while to let them finish what's there. MrK has already drained off a liter of worm wee :D

Not long now before we make the switch permanently.

Morning everyone
Muggy and wet today... annoying cos yesterday I got a large stand of plastic drawers that will go nicely beside the breakfast bar so I can get rid of the low set of drawers I have underneath. but they were outside at the Junktion so have been dusty and wet at some stage. I was going to take them outside and give them a good scrub down and hose them off. .. Ohh well they will wait.
I will fix the Santa's today, then I can book the courier for the one that has sold.
It was good to go around the Junktion and Oppy. I got the drawers and a small "crate" of red and gold Christmas balls for MrPs room at the Junktion and then a Summer Santa at St Andrews. And 8 of those little Christmas cookbooks that usually come on the Aussie Women's Weekly Magazines. I wasn't sure what ones I already had but for 50 cents each I got the lot. There was only 3 I already have so Ill pass those onto a friend... I said to the lady on the till Im downsizing but figure buying Smaller books is still downsizing lol

Yeah the Mbs finish on the 15th, so not long now..

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) It's still raining but my goodness the garden is loving it along with the warm temperatures.

I have a busy day today so am up early to make a start. I need to follow a You Tube tutorial for part of my sewing and I know MrK will want the computer later this morning as it's too wet for him to be outside. I'll watch it shortly then he can watch his woodworking stuff to his hearts content. I could use my tablet but I like the bigger screen on the laptop.

We haven't heard from our son how his opening day went so we will phone today. Yesterday Vodafone had an outage and we didn't want to bug him anyway as hopefully, he was busy.

I saw some little bucket hats in town yesterday, the same style I want to sew for the grandkids. They were being sold for just under $40! Just crazy.

See you on the other side :)

Happy crafting.

Morning all rain here too. Great for the garden and farmers
Had lovely day in PN yesterday. The owner quilt shop is retiring so it was the last strippers get together. Bought replacement square ruler as my one the lines have worn off in places. Need the lines to square blocks. Piece fabric as well to add to my baby quilt fabric stash. Then popped over to Amy's Homestead quilt shop for reveal day to see settings for 2021 block of month. I didn't participate this year got too many projects swirling around in my head
Cast on cotton yarn for another lacey cardi. Had to go down a needle size to get tension swatch measurements right Usually I have to go up a size. Half the rib done
Not sure what I will get up to today. DH did all the housework yesterday though there are now lots of doggy foot prints on his clean floors.
Catch you all over o other place bye for now

Morning everyone
Warm and wet here too, the lawn is still long. Will have to bite the bullet and get someone in again, at least a ride on should do it this time.

I ended up having to go back to Pukekohe to get some new ear muffs for MrP. I dont know if the other ones broke cos they were cheap of if in his grumpy he had on Friday night he ripped them apart.. more likely to be the latter... but I told him we cant afford anymore.

I grabbed another of the toy crochet toy pack done in that Ari... crochet lol. I got one on Thursday cos they were on clearance and was telling my friend so she asked me to get her one.. Also got a storage box for my beads, wish I'd got 2 tho..... And I got a Nordic Santa Gnome. He was only $7 but I was looking at him last night and would be so very easy to copy. Im liking the Nordic gnomes at the mo. Have an Owl and a gnome who I call Shaddrack from Emmerdale lol. He's heard a lot of stuff with this big happenings this year. Im assuming you get the "beard" hair type fabric from spotlight, will have a look on Alliexpress too tho.

Back to fixing the Santa's today. I didn't do it right yesterday and had to undo it a second time but he is done. I must book the courier so he can wing his way to Picton.

I cant believe we are having to leave the MB here. This post has been going for several years, I wish the year was at the start. But I think your Grandies have both been born in the time we have been talking.

See you all on the other Side... Will take a little while to get used to it lol.

Have a fab Day everyone

Tthe name of the thread was cos I'd seen a post that was, You can never have too much fabric, so I replied to it.

We have been through soo much over there years, birthdays, deaths, health stuff, Covid.... but also

So much help and awesome work has been done by all of us.

I know I wouldn't have got through the last 6 months especially, can you believe MrP ( David) has almost been in the rest home 6 months.. most days it was the regularity of coming on here and seeing what everyone else was up to, that brought the "normal" to me.

For that I thank you all..

See you all on the "Other" side ..!!!
