morning ladies :) It's supposed to be a fine day today. I have to go to Hamilton this morning as our son has a flat battery and needs our jumper leads. I'm shopping there anyway so we told son not to worry about getting someone in with leads when we spoke to him for his birthday. Can't believe our youngest is 30. *stunned look* I wonder where the years have all gone. While there, I'll dig up a piece of a plant I spotted in his 'garden' :P

So there won't be much embroidery done today. I'm still knitting the memory blanket and pick it up when my fingers start hurting from stitching.

Morning everyone
Time is whizzing by, yesterday it was 47 years since our Father died.. It will feel even worse when its 50 and Im in the same decade lol.

I painted yesterday and got quite a bit done too which is pleasing.

MrP was very quiet when I spoke to him before lunch, so expected a not so nice call last night.. And he was back to begging to come home, wanting a divorce and we all schemed to put him there. Today he will probably be back to normal.
To the drs for me today, its cheaper to see her than it is to order a prescription, and I need some forms done too. And Ill get my B12 as well... Im having my first Covid shot on Thursday.

I will shorten the jeans later and sew the cuffs on one of his cardies up. The sleeves have stretched on two of the same style of cardies.

The geranium that I saved from the resthome is doing well.. very pleased

I popped into Spotlight yesterday after dropping off the jumper leads to our very sheepish son. My pins of all things need replacing as they are becoming blunt and a few rusty. And I needed some smaller curved sewing needles as I use these for lacing my embroidery onto boards. While there I bought some clips to help hold my fabric. I haven't used these before and they seem like a good idea. I can't find my old roller I use for marking darts and the like onto fabric and suspect it may have been thrown out accidently with other stuff. Really annoying as I am usually careful with my tools.

Suns up and it's time to crack on with the day.

Morning everyone

Glad you are on the mend Tim6.

Sunflowers I hope you can get away at some stage and pretend home is normal and you dont need to think of it for a while.

I think ours is a heavy dew rather than frost but it is very nippy.. Im loving my polar fleece nightie. I doubt my sleeping has been helped by the thinner 23 year old winter nightie lol.. Im certainly sleeping better now.

I sewed the cuffs up on MrPs cardy yesterday, have cut the jeans and will whizz them through before I visit him today. He was a little bit better on the phone yesterday, but only a little so Im kinda not looking forward to visiting, but Im learning to leave the day before where it belongs, in the past.

I know how you feel about "Loosing" things Kiwimade, I was soo cross with myself for losing the diamonds.. I like to be able to go put my hand on what I need straight away.. MrP always laughs at the fact that stuff in our fridge sits in its own place and has done for 30 years lol.

I must ask if he wants his tomato sauce up there... and its time to throw out some of the razors etc that he always leaves in the drawer in the bathroom instead of throwing them out.. I wont say Im avoiding it but I guess subconsciously I just dont want to do it.

morning ladies :) Another frosty morning but not as hard as yesterday. We were in Tauranga having lunch with all of MrK's sisters so a very pleasant day all round.

I'm waiting for the frost to clear and then will mow the lawn. It will be wet but the lawn needs mowing and I suspect there will be weather changes coming up. While I'm mowing the berm, I'll take a peek at the aggies I'm trying to kill and see how they are doing. Hopefully they are dying!

Still working on the first shell. Long and short stitch takes a while to come together and look presentable.

Chorus are working up the road so the traffic is being slowed down. Looks like I'll be taking another way into town when buying the mower petrol later.

Morning everyone
I feel colder today than yesterday. Have a pure wool hat on lol.. First job of the day to boil the jug for the hottie lol.

I didnt paint yesterday, had a headache so figured it was wise not to strain my eyes even more.

Im having my first Covid Vaccine this morning. Will do my bloods first as you have to wait for a while afterwards. I feel a bit of pride in knowing that I will help not to be spreading the bugs.

Kiwimade my fingers are crossed for the aggies to be rotting.. When Missy took to my bamboo plant I wrapped the end with tinfoil tightly and the dying stopped and didnt spread into the other large trunk? ..Its still under construction and looking good.

Morning all, nippy start but looking forward to a balmy 14 degrees sure beats the 11 yesterday.
Finished knitting hooded cardi last night will get some buttons after my volunteer stint this morning. Having a go at knitting some baby socks with a short turned heel. Need a change before starting another baby garment.
On xewing front I am sewing up a By Annie change station pattern. https://www.byannie.com/changing-station certainly not a fast sew but could be a useful gift to have in my stash.
No sewing today got to walk the k9s before I go out and take DH to specialist appt this afternoon so will be some knitting in front of the TV tonight.

Good on you Popeye, going to arrange my vaccine too, but that depends on what happens, my youngest has been in the same house as a couple of people who are considered close contacts to the Australian case that was in Wellington at the weekend, so she needs to be tested too, and I asked to be as well, though they weren’t concerned until I said I’d recently had cancer treatment.

In the last few days I’ve made a pair of leg warmers, a hat and a pair of fingerless gloves for my youngest, to match a hooded long cardigan I made her, I had no patterns, except for the cardi, so that got my mind going. Today it’s onto something with a pattern so I don’t have to think too much.

I did my bloods, they had to have a go in both arms. We normally use the left one but its having a hissy at the mo lol.

Then there was a group of 6 women who all turned up at the same time. Talk about cackling hens lol.. But it all went smoothly.

Of course Im tricky, took alot to get the bloods done and then after the shot of vaccine the blood poured down my arm lol.

Went up to MrP cos his walkers brakes aren't working very well now, so I took the spare one up. I could hear them singing in one lounge so I went to his room and said Hello stand up we are going for a walk. And he really enjoyed himself. Ill guarantee he has a sleep this afternoon tho lol

And we're back to fog this morning. Typical Waikato weather. But the lawns are mowed so all good. Housework for me today and then I'll sew the second tray mat together. It's sitting there all ready to go. I've almost finished the first shell and am hoping I can get that done later this afternoon or evening as well. I love winter, lots of guilt free sewing or knitting time.

Morning everyone,
Yes they go in and tell him what is on.. They went for a trip on Wednesday to a cafe , he apparently said he would go, then changed his mind. There's one guy in the home who is rude, stroppy and nasty to the staff and when MrP heard he was going on the trip he stayed home. He said he probably would have ended up giving the guy a lecture..

They send me an email with the events happening so I will make sure he knows what is on.. He was saying last night he really enjoyed it. His legs were sore but at least the Main lounge is the furtherest away from his room so he will get exercise lol. Its the longest that he has walked in 5 weeks.

Im a mess this morning, 3 days out in a row and another today.. so Ive doped up as much as I can when I know I have to drive.

It has rained overnight, so not so cold this morning.

I got another pair of trousers for MrP yesterday so Ill take them up for a fitting and that will be a little sewing on the weekend.

Ive decided to move the clothes arier.. after all this time lol.. Im going to put it into the main bathroom.. I only go in there to use the shower so Ill put it in there and then it wont be in my way. Makes sence too really and the dehumidifier can be plugged in there too.

morning ladies :) Another on again, off again, rainy day today I think.

I made the decision yesterday not to embroider the side of the sewing box as it just did not look right. I think it's my fabric choice. I will embroider the dolphin on the lid though as the different teals in the fabric should work with the colours of the dolphin. I can still use my designs for something else so not worried about that. My design book is getting quite full lol. MrK suggested I put pockets around the inside wall which is an idea I'm tinkering with. The other option is to make a tray to sit inside it. Last night I stitched the outer side wall and today hopefully finish the bottom today which will support the circle. Love it when a plan (kinda lol) comes together.

Morning everyone,

Its a good feeling when you get things sorted and into line eh Kiwimade.

I discovered yesterday I was running around without a warrant ( 8Days out) lol.. That's the first time ever of being late.. Usually we get a reminder but that didn't arrive but I should have known anyway.. Our mechanic is fully booked on Monday so am booked in for Tuesday.

Im going to be crafting most of the weekend I hope. Cos the house is to a standard Im happy with and I dont want to just play the day away with cards.
So it will be a mix of crochet, sewing and painting.. fingers crossed.

morning ladies :) We're in for a rough few days weather wise, I think. It's pretty bleak out there this morning.

Yesterday I sewed the side wall of the sewing box and after rejigging my maths, sewed the bottom on. I found a pot it fitted over so I was able to keep the circle without bending everything out of shape. Worked perfectly and made sewing the bottom on easier as I needed both hands to sew. It certainly gave MrK a good laugh too. I've cut the lining out and will stitch it today and glue it in place and put the bottom lining in. The quilting clamps I bought are a godsend, there is no way I could use pins for this.

Did anyone see the gorgeous antique sewing machine on the Repair Shop Friday evening? It went back five generations with a sixth waiting to use it. Our sewing machines have certainly come a very long way over time!

Sounds like you are making good good progress KM.
Just got in from walking k9s it started raining part way through the walk so we have come home dripping note to self must get some light weight leggings. Drafted some patterns yesterday afternoon and spent last night unpicking a baby czrdi that didn't really look right. Goodness it is tricky to frog ( rip it rip it) stitch. Anyway after couple hours completed so can repurpose.
Washing machine woes here the laundry pile is mounting. Let's hope don't have to wait too long for a tech to come this week.
Sewing this afternoon merino cross over baby top hopefully will have enough to make matching leggings.

Morning everyone

Ohh yes I saw that sewing machine.. I said to MrP yesterday when I rang him I wanted it lol.. I could get myself adopted into the family for it lol.

Does anyone know if the owners have to pay to have the repairs done? Its close to the top of my Fave shows.
I had a very old Singer sewing machine years ago, we lived in a very old homestead type house and I had a few things up the hall on display. But when we moved into our Mobile home I had to part with it.

I painted for over 3 hours yesterday with walking breaks in-between. Madam Missy was a little Rat the whole time.. She wanted to get on my knee, got up on the shelves to the left of me and knocked things off, Got between me and the painting but kept grabbing my hand as I moved it, Started pulling tissues out of the box and knocked that on the floor, asked for Biscuits every 5 minutes and once Id put them out she walked away.. lol..
When Im playing cards I push the lappy away from me and she sits on my lap cps I use a mouse off to the side of me..

Just as well I love her lol. Today I will make sure I at least turn the tissues over lol

I'm a happy girl, the box is pretty much constructed except for the lid which needs embroidering. I 'borrowed' MrK's PVA glue and glued the bottom in and that supports the lining.

At least you got your K9's walked mica lol. Our boy stuck his nose outside and gave me 'the look' of 'you have got to be kidding me, I'm NOT going out there' lol.

I looked up online if people have to pay for the repairs in the Repair Shop programme and no, they don't have to pay but a donation would be nice, thank you. It's because it's all part of a museum and they want to preserve these things. Lucky families!

Time to peel the PVA off the fingers and have some lunch.

morning ladies :) Another wet day by the looks of it so another day inside. The glue should be dry by now on my box, I'll have a look at it later. I started the embroidery for the lid yesterday afternoon, so far, so good.

I have a few things to do today before I can stitch, the ironing needs doing and I'll bake a batch of choc chip bickkies. I'm not going to be able to get outside into the garden thanks to the weather. Am so glad I mowed the lawn last week. I had better put some bird food out for the birds today too. I make a big stash of bird puddings and keep them in the freezer.

Morning everyone
Another wet one up here too. Not as much wind as yesterday tho. So hopefully the TV will be viewable lol. And watching the chase is hard if your busy and missing hearing one of the options on the answers lol.

I got another three hours of painting done yesterday.. ANNNNND Missy sat between my feet, and seemed to be quite happy. Yay lol I have a 5cm strip on the left and that's two strips of 5 done. Ill take a photo when I've finished the strip. Cos its up close its very easy to see what your doing. Unlike pictures with more happening in it.

Have to take clothes up to MrP and a few more munchies. I think it will take a while for him to admit he's enjoying it there, but Im happy with where he is at.
He asked me what my thoughts are about his drivers licence. I said to be honest I would like him to get his photo put on his Gold card, so he has photo ID. And to not renew his licence. We worked out he hasn't driven for 10+ years. Rules have changed in that time and his eyes aren't good. I thought he might get angry but he didn't.
And I was pleased that he asked my opinion and didn't fly off the handle when I told him. I make sure I ask his advice about things more too so he feels included.

I hope to paint when I get home... Im really enjoying it again.

Good Morning from sunny Napier. Washing on the line and more yarn to dry. Was thinking about coming up your way Kiwimade, just waiting for the plumber to come, hoping it's this week.Sounds like good old Waikato weather at present. Napier/Taupo road is not the best, with some big potholes and some washouts.
Like the sound of the sewing box, you are working on kiwimade. I'm sure your daughter will like it.
If it stays fine over the next few days, I may get out and turn over the vegie garden. Finished a baby blanket last night, just needs to be blocked.

Popeye you doing well and sounds like Mr P is starting to understand that he not the only one there in the home.

Morning ladies
A storm here today and currently a balmy 5 degrees. So far the k9s have shown zero interest in a walk which suits me. Up early as the tech for washing machine could be here any time between 7- midday with my luck they won't arrive until late morning.
Made a dress for DD yesterday to accommodate the growing baby bump.
Not sure what I will do down in the sewing cave today it does need a good vacuum.
Sounds like everyone is keeping busy

I didn't know you could have your photo on the gold card. That's something to think about with MrK when it's his time to stop driving.

If it's going to be a rubbish day outside, then I'll be working on the dolphin today. I've stitched his beak and part of his head and the eye is next.

Morning everyone

Mica do you have industrial sewing machines or normal ones? I miss my industrial, soo much faster.

Yep Kiwimade I think its AA that does them. I've had my photo on mine for years since I dont look 65 lol. And it was free when I was getting mine done. I have to try and figure out where it was so we can do MrP's, the only thing I remember is it was through the back of a store lol.

I got the side piece done on the painting yesterday.. I took a photo and then thought there was something wrong. And boy there was. A piece that sjould have been a light tan id done in a maroon. Didnt notice it cos it was a bit I did on the weekend. So I sat there last night carefully picking them off. Its not too hard but not too easy either. But thankfully its done and back to how it should be. Il do the photos later.

Once Ive finished my breakfast I have to go get a warrant on the car.. fingers crossed. I may have to get them to swap the spare wheel tyres over.

We saw the sun occasionally yesterday too lol

Popeye, sometimes when I take photos of my work, I see blaring mistakes I have missed when checking it over. The camera doesn't lie in these cases :)

I've finished the dolphin's head and am working on it's belly now. I had to unpick a bit of the head as I didn't quite have a curve right but it was worth the undo. I was worried some of the teals wouldn't show up on the fabric but the outlining in black brings it all together. It's been a while since I've outlined using black, lately it's been dark charcoals and other colours.

I've joined an online quilting group (beginner here) as for quite a few years now I've had an idea of embroidering some blocks to quilt. I'm hoping by joining the group, I'll be brave enough to give it a go. I could always start with something small I suppose.

Morning everyone

Its going to be a stunning day, our lawn is long so kinda hard to tell if it is a frost or dew. but its cold this morning. Missy slept on me all night and was even happy to have a blanket over her back.

The car failed the warrant. The horn isnt working properly and the lights need cleaning and aligning a little. But they have said $100 should do it since the part for the horn is $44. So they are waiting for the part. They have said they will give me a loaner even tho its only half an hours work.

I was hoping to go to the meeting at the rest home this morning but Im to scared to risk going out in the car. $100 fine apparently of they catch you.

I took the cushion cover with me to take the zip out. I undid the reversed part and pull it out in seconds lol..

Also got our notice for the next inspection, I knew it was coming tho cos my friend in Tauranga's is usually a weekish before ours.. So I will sort MrPs bed out, I did some dumping when I was looking for a belt he wanted. And then apart from vacuuming and dusting the windowsills that part of the house is done .

I painted most of the afternoon yesterday.... That's the good thing about photos Kiwimade lol.. I hadn't even noticed that the colours looked odd.. Im working on the left eye at the mo..

I would Love to be able to do quilting, but I would struggle being able to keep the rows of stitching straight.. Too many years in sewing factories and never using pins in those days.. And I seldom use them now lol.. Basically only when Im joining a gathered piece to a flat piece lol

No wind today but overcast and a bit warmer. While out yesterday taking DH to medical appts it was snowing.
KM sounds like you are making good progress. Welcome to the dark side lol. I am sure with your talent you will make beautiful quilts.
Popeye I have domestic machine with 11 inch harp which is great for free motion quilting. Actually I have 3 SM, 2 overlockers and a coverstitch machine a bit of a machine herd. My old machine circa 1973 still does the best stitch she gets an outing a couple times a year.
Washing machine not worth fixing so went to look at new ones. They all wider than current space so got to re jig the laundry, so far purchased new tub waiting for plumber to get back to me regarding putting it in. Will need to do some painting etc when all done. Nothing is simple is it?!

I have almost completed one eye.. just a few diamonds on the top when I do the next row. Its looking good.

Taking the car up to have the bits fixed, ill do my blood while Im there and then pop up to see MrP..

MrP had another venture out of his room the other day. He helped a lady who I think he said is 99 play Bingo, she cant see the numbers well enough. I was soo proud of him..
I was going to say yesterday that his legs have been good for the last few weeks but he had a break out yesterday.. so Disappointed for him. I thought he was doing so well.

I better rattle me Daggs... things I need to do before I go.

morning ladies :) Another frosty morning and it looks like were in for a few more mornings of frost. At least we'll have sunny days.

lol mica, nope, one thing always leads to another. I hope you were planning on redoing your laundry lol. I suspect something similar is going to happen when we replace our oven.

Yesterday we ended up in Hamilton helping our son with his van. Just as well MrK was a mechanic lol. While there I raided his 'garden' so have some planting to do this morning when the frost lifts. Might as well weed a bit while I'm there as I noticed one patch where the weeds are going nuts. I must have been slack weeding there before the mulch went on.

I've stitched the flippers and just above the belly on the dolphin, lots of padded satin, long and short, and laid stitches and only need to do the back stitching to finish that section. So far so good.

Morning ladies ,
Got as far as cutting out yesterday then DS and DGS turned up for a visit.
Knitting at night.
Purchased new washing machine yesterday and the plumber comes next Monday to sort out the plumbering and install new tub so that we can fit the jolly thing into our space. While I was at it decided to get matching heat pump dryer so we will look smart. Dryer not in country yet.
Popeye I am located in capital city and it snowed here, also hailed and sleeted on Tuesday and in between there were glimpies of sunlight biazarre
My volunteer day today and one of the k9s needs a check up at the vets as he was not himself last night so busy day

morning ladies :) Well done MrP, it sounds like he is beginning to settle in, popeye.

Yesterday afternoon I was surprised by our friend with a huge trailer load of mulch he thought I might like. It's all shredded manuka and there is about two cubic meters of it. And just when I thought I had finished mulching for the season lol. So today and tomorrow I will be spreading it on the garden. MrK said there's no hurry as the garden is already mulched but it won't do any good just sitting there on concrete. And the good thing about it is mulch is light so not hard work at all.

I finished stitching the dorsal fin and down the dolphin's 'shoulder' last evening using split stitch, satin and long and short stitches. Today if I get a chance, I'll start across it's middle and back working towards the tail.

Time to get cracking, lots to do today.

It's amazing how warm the soil is with the mulch. Usually my fingers are frozen even with gloves on this time of the year. It's definitely worth the effort.

Hopefully later I can embroider a bit more on the dolphin. I have stitched down the curve of it's back and working towards where it narrows for the tail so almost there. Another couple of days/evenings and the embroidery will be finished. The lid can then be constructed and it's done.

Washing machine is finished so I can take a hint and get moving.

Morning ladies a balmy -1 degree here we actually have frost so it is a good one we grade them by how far up the hill the frost is .
KM you will keep warm moving all your mulch.
No sewing yesterday k9 back to vet he is mystery as symptoms come and go so far all tests normal waiting for the results more unusual tests . Then continuing on medical theme transported DH to yet another specialist appt. Cant complain he has been seen within the week so all good.
Can't wait our new washing machine will be delivered on Tuesday noy is it going to get a work out

Morning everyone

We have a doozy frost today. I took photos to show MrP. So will put a couple on here. The neighbours hill is white as lol.

Pain and coughing for me today.. but the pills will work.... That'll teach me to wander around too much when out yesterday. I managed to get a frame for the second Missy picture on special so Im pleased.

I want to wash the cupboards today so Ill go slow and steady.. And will measure out ingredients to bake some shortbread and some Choc Chip peanut brownies tomorrow for MrPs birthday on Tuesday.. will do muffins and sausage rolls on the morning of and take them up warm.

I was talking to him last night and there was a heck of a racket coming from Johns room. The nurses were with him but obviously doing something to him and he was shouting out and sounded very very upset or in pain. It brought Both of us to tears...

Right I need to keep moving..

Beautiful day here in Northland l am off to the Waikato to spend some time with my grandkids and my 2 great grandies. I still can't get used to being old enough to have another generation of kids to spoil. I was a granny at 32 and had 8 grandies by 40 but am not old enough to be a great granny.

My youngest grandson has just been accepted at Otago Uni to do a science degree to become a forensic scientist he is a real brain box so will do well, he is a redhead with a very strong character like his mum

Just need to sort out Violet getting the help she needs now there is a diagnosis hopefully her needs at school will be met unfortunately it is the naughty kids that get the most attention so she misses out. This term has gone so fast will need to make reservations for a camp site for dec when l get back l swore l wasn't going camping anymore but missy loves it so much l will do a 5 day stint mid Dec and again late Jan.

morning ladies :) Another good frost this morning but it doesn't feel as cold as other mornings. Maybe I'm just getting used to them.

Yesterday just as I finished the lawn, MrK reminded me there was a rose pruning demo at the garden center. Had just enough time to down a cuppa and go. I thought I knew how to prune roses but this lady was full of tricks of the trade and I learned loads. Her two hour demo and question and answer session whizzed by. And I came home with another rose lol. It's one I lost a few years ago so I'm very happy to have her back in the garden. I said to MrK as I was walking out the door I won't be buying anything, just going to the demo. He rolled his eyes lol and when he saw the new rose shook his head and said I knew you would lol. The way I see it, the garden benefits both of us both physically and mentally.

Today I'll plant the rose and the gladys I lifted in April and move more mulch. Hopefully I can get it on the garden before the rain comes next week.

I didn't do any embroidery last evening but will later on today. By about 3.00pm until around 4.30pm our living room is sunny and warm and it's a real delight to sit in the sun and stitch. Outside it might be cold even with the sun out but boy it's toasty inside. And we don't need the heat pump on at all. I think it's my favourite part of a winters day.

While I'm waiting for the frost to lift and I can get outside, (am over cold, frosty fingers!) I'll do the ironing and have a tidy up where I've been sewing.

Morning everyone

Another wicked frost and a bit of fog. The sun has only just got into the lounge.
I was up early to bake, which is the start of MrPs birthday munchies I will take up to share on Tuesday. In-between I've gathered everything he needs and wants.. Had to unpack the new hair clippers, I wish they wouldnt put things into those vacuum packed packaging its Blardy hard to open with crap fingers.. So yes there was blood lol.

I have some cheese scones in for my lunch then I can sit for a while before I go up later and cut his hair.. Hes looking more like his Dad now.. And his hair is changing from silver to white.

That demonstration would have been good to listen to Kiwimade.. MrPs sisters father in law was awesome when it came to roses. He used to come and do ours for us.

Ive enjoyed my session this morning.. I havent baked since before Christmas lol..

I hope everyone is enjoying the awesome weather

Morning everyone , nice day here sunny with a bit of chill factor in the air.
The demo sounds like it was really worth while to attend Kiwimade I am sure your new rose will give you both pleasure when it flowers.
Gosh Popeye the grass sure couldn't grow under your feet sounds like Mr P will have a few goodies for his birthday.
Just returned from having brunch with friends. We meet up once a month and take it in turns to organise venue been doing it for 2 yrs and no double ups yet.
Made peach coloured merino all in one and long sleeved onesie yesterday not sure what I will do this afternoon not feeling inspired hopefully something jumps out and says create when I go to cave later or I could sit in sun and read

morning ladies :) Wow, we have one doozy of a frost, at least -4 this morning with a touch of fog. The frost is high up in the trees (and we have some big trees) which we rarely see. The sun is finally coming out so the day will warm up a bit soon.

I had moved half of the mulch and come in for lunch when a friend texted me and asked if I had an overlocker. I thought she was wanting some sewing done, but nope, she had one I could have. I couldn't believe it, I had to sell mine many many years ago and hadn't replaced it. So the afternoon was spent tutu-ing. It's old but rarely been used and I had to rethread it which was no biggie. But it's 'looping' and the stitching unravels so today I'll have another look at it and see why. I'm suspecting it's tension or the knife but it could also need a really good service from just sitting for years. I've given it a good clean and will take it in and see what's what. I may even just trade it in for a new model.

Last evening I embroidered down the dolphin's back and tail and have just the dolphin's tail fluke to stitch. I am very happy with it and at this rate, should finish the sewing box this week.

Time to get a few things done before the frost lifts and I'm moving mulch again.

Morning everyone

Another frost here too, not as heavy as yesterday tho.

Wow an awesome friend you have Kiwimade to give you an overlocker. Id be lost without mine now. Im sure you will figure it out. Once its threaded and working you shouldn't need to re thread it from the start again, just cut the cottons and retie the new colour to the threads and pull through.

I baked yesterday then went up and cut MrPs long locks... I was calling him Rapunzel lol.. Had to cut it with two different lots of combs, cos it was too long to cut short from the start lol...

A few extra bits for the inspection today and prepping the ingredients for tomorrow muffins etc..

High Pain but Im used to it...

I might chose the colours for my friends daughters blanket today since it will be the knitting group while Im there tomorrow

morning ladies :) An early start for me this morning as I have a long list to work through.

Yesterday was freezing, we didn't get passed 5 degrees but we have a sunny little spot that builds up heat so I put the washing on the airer to dry there and couldn't believe it was all dry after lunch.

The mulch has been moved onto the garden and I noticed my spring bulbs are doing their late winter/early spring thing. I just need to move the pots they are in so we can enjoy them when they flower. I love having them in pots as I can tuck them away when they have finished and it saves me garden space.

I have finished the dolphin and it is laced onto the lid of the box but have run out of card to finish it so will get some today while out and about. I'm hoping to have it finished tomorrow or Thursday. It's quite a deep box and would easily take a tray so am thinking how I could do that. There's plenty of fabric left over so that's not an issue. It's been a fun project to, something a bit different for me. I'll post pics when it's done.

Morning all,
Windy cloudy and cold here. Contemplating taking the k9s for a walk of course as soon as I do that they will phone to say washing machire delivery imminent.
Got to sewing cave yesterday and pulled out some quilting fabric scraps got a baby quilt pieced and ready to quilt today all out of left overs.
KM all your gardening must keep you very fit no need for you to go to the gym lol. Enjoy you overlocker couldn't be without mine.

morning ladies :) Gosh it's dark outside, it looks like the rain isn't finished with us yet.

Mica, I hope your washing machine arrived. You will be ready to put that baby to work lol. And of course, it has to be raining.

I'm reasonably fit, mica, thanks to the garden. It certainly keeps the muscles going that's for sure. And I can feel it if I haven't been working in the garden for a while. It's taken a lot of my time over the years and has changed hugely from comfrey growing as a ground cover right across our section from fence to fence, a heap of calla lilies, a half finished fish pond and a mountain of concrete fill.

Yesterday I popped into the Bernina shop in Hamilton (*gasp* this chick is a Janome girl lol) and asked about servicing the overlocker. By the sounds of it I have a very good model, just old, and in need of some love after sitting for five years. So I think I'll have it serviced, use it for a while, then trade up when $$$ allow.

I have the lip of the lid to do today and then the box will be finished. I'm still thinking of putting a tray inside it though. One thing at a time, will get the lid done first. Once this is all finished, I can start unpicking the placemat hems my mother-in-law embroidered for us 35 odd years ago. I'm going to back them so we can finally use them with hot dishes.

Afternoon everyone. Yesterday I woke with chest pain at 1-50 am. Packed my bag and called the ambulance. I've had a heart attack. They will be doing an angiogram tomorrow to see if I have any damage to the heart. .... Putting it down to all the stress etc. So I didn't get to bake or see MrP for his birthday. He's angry of course cos he can't handle me being sick. And is also saying if we hadn't have put him in the home he could have looked after Missy. So I'm avoiding calling him too much. The things one will do to get out of a house inspection lol. That has been postponed till I'm well again. Sounds like a good score on the overlocker Kiwimade. Bet one of the first things you make will be a dust cover for it lol.... Do you have your new machine's Mica? I still love my new washing machine. I rang the resthome this morning and asked them to do MrPs washing till I'm back to do it. Have a Fab day everyone
