Pretty needle book Kiwimade, always fun plotting and scheming for our next projects.
Big life changes for you Popeye I am sure things will settle into a routine soon.
Quiet day at home today got to love pyrolytic oven cleaning mine is cleaning as I type. Sewing cave for me today putting a pdf pattern for a coat together. Might get some charity sewing together too or might sit in sun this afternoon and read a book.

Yep its been massive to put it bluntly.

The Home rang, he had a fall early this morning. He woke up cos he said someone was calling his name.. tried to get up to get his walker and fell to the floor. No injuries. He said it was a man voice.. I've always thought his Mother will call him one day... they were extremely close.

he was still a little snappy about the meal. but that will improve.

morning ladies :) Good the home phoned you, popeye. When Dad had a fall in respite care we weren't told. My sister found out when he told her the next day while visiting.

Yesterday I took a punt and washed the wool I had wound into hanks. By chance, they were the perfect size to slide over the ends of the air dryer. MrK must have known something when he made my niddy noddy lol. I've just put it all outside again as they will take a few days to dry and hopefully this wind will hurry it all along.

The lawn needs mowing again so I'll get that done. We're due for a storm today so one eye will be on the weather.

The Furry One has mites in his ear and was feeling pretty miserable yesterday. We are lucky our vet had sold us some stuff a while back as it's something we can easily treat ourselves. He hates it but it's better than scratching at his ear and constantly shaking his head. This morning he seems a lot perkier :) Sore ears seem to be a 'thing' for smaller dogs apparently.

Coffees finished, time to move. I'll get a couple of things done inside before heading out to do the lawn.

happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Fine with a little breeze this morning..

Kiwimade thats not good that they didnt tell you about MrK's Fall.. I need to hear from them cos with MrP I just dont know if it happened or not since he has his dreams and paranoia etc etc.

Ive decided that I was wise not going on Rollercoasters when I was younger lol.. cos the one Im on now its crazy enough lol.

I rang last night like usual and he was happy. He had had his lunch in the lounge with 3 lovely ladies. One who remembered him making all the toys. So he was happy and fun to talk to lol.. And the added bonus of him having a tv means I can tell him what is on and we can see the same things.

I will go up today he wants some lighter shirts. With the heating on he is getting too warm.. but before he asked for those he said he wanted the big cardy I knitted him a while ago.. Makes me wonder if the ladies are knitters.

I took wool into the knitters a few years ago, so I will ask at the desk when I go in through the week if the ladies are still knitting for charities and take some more in for them. its like I cant spare a ball or dozen lol.

Missy has been getting under the blankets so the temp is dropping. And I had my blue cardy with the long sleeves on yesterday lol.

Have a fab day everyone... Im thinking today will be a good one

Good afternoon ladies,
Sounds like the home communicate well Popeye.
So much for a day in the cave yesterday. Did get my coat pattern traced off but no fitting as DD came and tried on preggy top toille I had made her. Then it was off to the fabric warehouse to get fabric to make some more.
Today was supposed to be a quiet day at home but no DD has just dropped off her 2 dogs and we have friends popping in later this afternoon. Hope to get some fabric cut out ready to sew.

morning ladies :) It looks pretty miserable out there but no complaints from me. At least we aren't on the East Coast, they look like they have been hammered.

I mowed the lawn yesterday, it was good to get that job out of the way. Mulching has saved me so much work as I haven't had to weed for weeks now. There's the odd weed popping up at the base of plants where I kept the mulch back but that's about it. Tomorrow I plan to raid our son's 'garden' as there are a few plants there he said I could help myself too.

The Furry One is back to his perky, normal self although his inner ear is still a bit red. Another dose of the meds and his ear will be fine. One of our neighbour's commented yesterday the possum they had had disappeared. I told him to look under my roses lol. The Furry One just wagged his tail lol.

The wool I washed the other day is dry so I'll wind that today. The airer worked really well and I think I will use that from now on when washing and drying recycled or hand dyed wool.

I've drawn up my next sewing project, just need to dig out a protractor to make sure my angles are exact. I'm hoping to make/sew a work basket for our daughter's sewing tools.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Tis a chilly start to the day.. No rain as yet tho.

Yesterday turned to crap with MrP performing... but I did have a Little ray of sunshine lol.

When I left him I went to the Junktion , on my way to NW.. Like totally in the different direction.
BUT Im glad I did I found a rubber scrapper like the ones I have, brand new and only 50 cents lol A small thing can make me happy lol.

A bit of tidying up for me today if I can leave my hottie lol.. I keep it constantly warm and it really is helping keep my use of pain meds down.

Kiwimade I am Extremely lucky to have my Mother in Laws sewing box. It is one of those pull out 3 levels of drawers.. on legs. It has a few of her things in it. When I go to get something out of it I think of her, even tho I never met her all the family said she would have loved me.

A perfect day to stay inside and keep warm.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) It's going to be a beautiful day today in spite of the southerly.

It must be the time-of-the-rubber-scraper, popeye lol. Yesterday mine split along the edge so looks like it will need replacing soon. It's a good solid heavy one I found at the supermarket years ago. Hopefully they are still around.

MrK has finished the frame for my bullrush embroidery and omggg it looks so good. I found a piece of glass from another print we took off the wall and it only needs to be cut down for it to fit. MrK will take it into the glass and timber place and have them do that before hs blood test tomorrow. Nothing like a bit of upcycling, especially when it saves a few $$ along the way.

Washing has finished, time to move.

Happy crafting :)

The K9s aren't asking g to go for their morning walk they don't like the wet.
Finished knitting pieces for baby cardi last night will sew up and make the bands tonight. Hope to get my coat cut out today if this weather continues might get it finished this week.
Kiwimade your frame sound lovely always good to up cycle.
Keep warm

Good Morning Ladies from an overcast day here in Napier. Well, I don't need to spend time clearing other peoples rubbish and leaves of my place anymore.
The two large trees next door have gone. At this time of the year would spend an hour plus out raking up leaves and bagging them.
More time for my crafting, reading etc. Now to wait and see who goes into the house. It is two or three months before it's rented out. Yes! a lot of work inside to do.
Have a friend coming this morning to change some light bulbs in my lounge/dining room. They are set into the ceiling Who every ideal it was needed a good kick.
Yes! it is good to upcycle when you can. Have some photos to go up on the wall. Had some slides printed? Hoping to have another look at the box of slides as family in the UK want some of their Uncle earlier photos.

Hope Mr P is a bit happier when you next see him Popeye.
Time to move and hang out some washing as the sun is out and a light wind just now.
Have a great day ladies.

Morning everyone

Its clear here with a little wind.

yeah Kiwimade I prefer Rubber scrapers to the silicon ones. The brand I like is Fredron. But I havent been able to find them in the shops now. I have a very stiff rubber one I got from Farmers and I hate it lol its too stiff lol... Picky eh lol.

Love being able to Upcycle or repurpose. Cant wait to see the picture framed.

A rough day with MrP.. Begging me to go get him but blaming me in the next breath.
I have to go up to the home to pick up some papers I think this morning.. and do my blood again.

Was going to sort some wool for the knitters yesterday but that didnt happen so Ill try and get it done today.

Have a fab day evertyone

morning ladies :) ta dahhhh!!! lol. Completely finished and hanging on the wall. I had to go into town for petrol so took the frame MrK made and the glass and they cut it down for me on the spot for no charge. So MrK put it all together for me and hung it. Am thrilled to bits with the way it has turned out, especially as the design was my own from a photo. The frame was made from an old red totara farm fence post and if you had seen it before it was milled, you wouldn't believe it was the same timber. So another collaborative effort between us lol.

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1546821559.jpg

It's going to be another stunning day today which I'll spend raking up the neighbour's leaves that have blown under our gate. Lucky you sunflowers lol, not having to worry about that any more. I'll mulch these as there are still a couple of bare spots in the garden. No wind today either, thank goodness. That southerly was bitter.

Popeye, my sister-in-law was told it would take about six months for her husband to settle into his new normal at the rest home so I would imagine it would be similar for MrP.

Happy crafting :)

Oh Kiwimade what beautiful handwork and the wooden frame is also lovely.
Crisp, clear day here when it warms up will drop DH off to hit golf balls and take the K9s for a romp along a river track.
Got one band on cardi completed last night so 2nd will be done tonight.
Coat cut out and the back sewn hope to get a bit more done this afternoon
Have good day

Good morning everyone

Ohh Kiwimade it is totally beautiful. not over cluttered with other stuff.. I love it.

They told me yesterday when I took the wool in to not ring for a few days, then blow me they rang last night and said he wanted me to ring him. He hadnt eaten on Monday, but was yesterday.
The call ended up with him begging me to come home but telling me its all my and our doctors fault that he is there and he wants a divorce.
My only weakening is that I wish he could come home, cos its not easy for me, but I dont get any further than that. I wont let myself give in cos it would simply revert back to how it used to be and I deserve better.
Im trying to not take so many pain meds to try and save my liver and kidneys.

Mica I wish I have my mojo,, you are a busy productive lady.

Yesterday I was norty... I went to the oppy and they had several bundles of a creamy white satin fabric I think it is. Its 1.5 meters wide and I havent added it up but its well over 20 meters. Ill look at it later and update. One piece has a mark but it was the smallest piece.
What will I make from it? I have no idea but it will be there when I need it.. It was too good to leave there $17 lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Heck 36.6 meters, I haven't opened the smaller piece that said there is a mark on lol

17116

morning ladies :) You're on a roll, mica. Would love to see a pic of your knitting and the coat when they are finished.

Gosh MrP is pulling out the big guns, isn't he, popeye. I wonder what he would say if you said yes to the divorce :P. I know he won't remember what he said yesterday but it doesn't make it any less hurtful. I wonder if you recorded him saying these things and then played it back to him the next day if that would help him realise what he is doing.

Those damed aggies I couldn't dig out are growing back in spite of the weed killer so today I'm going to have another go at them. I may need the pick axe at this rate to dig them out.

While I was at Pak n Save the other day I found some small cardboard boxes I can cut up and use for the box I'm planning. Card was just too thin but these are perfect. Yesterday I cut out some of the pieces and will do more today. I'm making a small 'prototype' first just to see how it all works, then I can make a bigger, more practical one.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Yeah Kiwimade he sure was on a roll.. yesterday however was soo different.
One of the workers rang me and then she gave the phone to MrP, but she stayed in the room. If he started getting stroppy etc she told him to calm down.
In the middle of it the nurse rang with my INR and it was low at 1.3. I was holding the mobile with MrP on close to the landline so MrP heard what she said about being carefull etc.. carried on talking to MrP and he changed, I said the lady has left the room eh, and she had, but I could tell when she came back too. I told her about my INR and she told MrP straight out I need to be careful and some well earnt rest.
We had our TV date last night when Bread and Barney were on and it was totally different and he was worried about me.. That doesnt happen often so Im thinking the lady told him more when we got off the phone.

And he is about leaving now. They are going to Ardmore Airport to check it all out. Im so excited for him. His Aunt used to work there many years ago. And Ive heard its changed heaps.

Please feel free to give me ideas for the Satin, lol it was such a good bargain.

I saw most of the eclipse last night.. I didnt look very red to me. lol

Better get on with things, Im trying to decide if I should go to Pukekohe for a little while since I dont have to rush to the home.

Have a fab day everyone

I've managed to dig out a few more clumps of those stubborn aggies! I think maybe the weedkiller had some effect on them after all.

lol that's a lot of satin, popeye. It could have been for a wedding dress at some stage maybe? I used satin to line a couple of bags and it worked out well. I saw the eclipse and the Blood Moon too and thought the same thing!

Kettle's boiled, I've earned this cuppa.

morning ladies :) whoooahh that's an awesome frost this morning. Mind you, we can't compete with the South Island lol. Some of the photos in the news look spectacular.

Yesterday I cut out the pieces for the box using some left over fabric from my stash. It's meant to rain tomorrow so I'll start sewing then as it is going to be too nice a day today to sit inside. I'm still knitting blocks using my wool stash and am down to the nitty gritty of the stash. It wasn't very big as I never buy unless it was for something planned.

Seeing as I had alittle success with some of the stubborn aggies yesterday, I'm going to have another go at them this morning.

Hope everyone is well and staying warm.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Its overcast here today but very cool. I wasnt up early enough to see if we have a frost. We are very surrounded so it is a rare thing for us.

I took the wheelchair up to the home and now they dont want it, its too big,, ( rolls eyes) so Im going to ring the right people and get them to pick it up from there. Ive had to take pain meds from having to put it into and getting it out of the boot.

MrP loved his trip out, Im pleased he went cos The last time fighter jets went over town here for a display I had my first panic attack, it was scary as.. and I said to him last night thats not something I would have been able to take him to see.

I got the forms 60+ questions lol... I have to take some photos of accounts etc so Ill do that on the weekend. Rather than do things in dribs and drabs.

Yesterday was the Knitting group at the library. But the lady I was going with had her car window smashed, Tuesday I think it was, the guy came to fix it, for him to discover that the window smashers had also stuffed the ignition, meaning they couldnt get the window working, so she had to wait at home for that yesterday too.
So we will go the next time. I am sooo pleased our car is in the garage now. I dont want to have to go through that again.

I saw a pattern for some little booties yesterday on FB.. they were done in varigated wool and looked nice and simple but really pretty so Ill write the recipe out and have something to knit at the group.

Stay warm everyone... My long hottie is consistantly hot.. which helps pain and cold lol.

Have a fab day

morning ladies :) It's a pretty wild looking day out there this morning, perfect for sewing guilt free. Hopefully this wind will blow the last of the leaves off the trees too.

MrK reckoned the Furry One needed his own blanket (he snuggles under the couch throw in the evening and our blankets at night) so I've taken one of the knitted blocks I have done and am knitting an attached icord around it to 'finish' it and he can have that.

Did anyone watch the Repair Shop last evening? The teddy bear being repaired is the same as my old teddy bear. I couldn't believe it when I saw it lol, it's the first time I've ever seen another bear like mine. Mine needs repairs as it's well loved and I suspect my grandparents gave it to me when I was born.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Yes I did see the teddy Kiwimade he was beautiful. And the ladies did a wonderful job on him. My teddy was totally different and I lost him somewhere along the line. I know he was pretty much bald lol.

Grey up here too.. Ill do some washing and my floors today.

MrP Started his fake crying etc as soon as I got there yesterday. I ignored it and he want on and on about not needing to be there etc.. I stayed for a while and said I didn't come here to listen to this.

I said you have guys buidling garden walls etc right outside your room and instead of watching he was lying on his bed moaning. Instead of watching something different.
I rang his brother from my mobile and he did at least talk to him for a few minutes.
Then I rang last night and it was still the same. but this time I told him a few things too. He hung up...
I didn't say yesterday when I would be back.. so he will have to wait..

Missy isnt one for being under things, although sometimes I can pull the sheet top over her butt if she is sleeping on my side... IM sure your Boy will love it lol.

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2021-05-29 09:28:00
17123

morning ladies :) I did a bit on sleuthing online about my bear and it would seem he is from the 1930's, not 1960's as I thought. I suspect he was mum's bear and thinking back, I don't ever remember him being new. Our daughter's mother-in-law has some vintage teddy bear eyes I can have so at least he will have eyes soon :)

Yesterday I started putting the sewing box together and so far, so good. I had to recut the gussets as they were too small but that was no biggie. Today I'll finish putting the sides on and start the lining. It does need quilt wadding to make it look better but as this is a practice piece, I didn't bother. Am thinking when I make it again, I will embroider the lid but that depends on the fabric being used. Still, there's plenty of scope for imagination and it has ideas running around in my head.

We're expecting heavy rain this afternoon, nothing like what the South Island has had, thank goodness so I might get out and rake up the wet leaves shortly. They can go back onto the garden. My delphiniums are flowering again, even the frost we had the other day didn't stop them.

Happy crafting :)

kiwimade64 - 2021-05-30 08:10:00

Morning everyone

Oh thats great news about Teddy Kiwimade.. His face will come alive with some eyes.
On Friday I brought a lotto and 4 $1 scratchies on the spur of the moment.. I very seldom buy them. I won $10 on the scratchies and $42 on the lotto last night.. so my $20 spend won me $52.... Im happy with that... Much better than a loss.
Missy needs a new scratching pole so Im going to do some window shopping online to see who has the best buy.. starting here first .
I made her first one and its totally knackered now.. lol

I woke to thunder earl this morning and alot of rain but the sun is out at the mo.. And certainly a couple of degrees warmer.

Spoke to MrP yesterday, a totally normal chat... Sooo strange how they can be..

I might play in the sewing room today. Id like to change the furniture but I cant do that anymore.. So Ill just have a good tidy up , I think Ill need another crate to put all the satin in.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning cloudy and dull here today no heavy rain hope that there is not too much damage in Canterbury.
Kiwimade your bear sounds like it has been well loved = lost count of how many times I had to reattach DD big teds head.
Just got some hand sewing to do on my coat and then will take to dry cleaners for a professional press.
Hope to get time today to sew some new tights for the gym as one of my older pair has lost some of its stretch recovery. ( a bit like me some days LOL)The new ones will be bright red and white supplex.
Started another cardi last night in light grey. I will take photos of my completed one once my camera is returned my phone camera photos not as good a quality.
keep up the crafting :)

mica3 - 2021-05-30 09:30:00
17126

morning ladies :) Woahhh Canterbury has been hit hard with the flooding. It's going to take days for the water to recede.

Yesterday I finished the sides to my box and started on the lining. The inside bottom is done and I have one pocket attached to a piece of lining. I've cut out of cardboard the lid and it's sides and need to cut four more cardboard pieces for the inner lining. There is a lotttt of hand sewing but I am thinking of gluing the lining in as it is too awkward to sew it and it's pretty hard on my fingers. Overall I'm tickled pink but am disappointed I didn't use the wadding for the sides now. I should have had more faith in myself.

I can't wait to see your coat and knitting, mica. That's a really good idea to have the coat professionally pressed. It will give a lovely finish to your sewing.

Time to crack on. Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Its a real disaster zone in the south... They breed them tough down there so Im sure they will come right eventually.

I ended up having to see MrP yesterday, they have the dr visiting him today. They think it may be the antibiotics that have upset his system. Hopefully it will sort out his system. he is very weak.. Still says he wants to come home and he can look after himself, Yet when he stands up for a hug its very wobbly and short.

I have some paperwork to do this morning.. Then I might potter with the fabric. I want to get the satin into a tub at least.

Cant wait for photos from both Mica and Kiwimade on your latest projects.

If your needing yarn its 40% off at spotlight at the mo lol..

Hi Ladies, it has been bucketing down all morning got very wet dashing into the gym and then had to take DH up the coast for an appointment given the choice we we would have hunkered down at home.
Looking forward to seeing you box when completed Kiwimade.
Popeye thats alot of fabric to wash and get dry - not to mention possibly ironing it all. Have you considered taking it to a laundramat to wash it all in one load
My sewing plans hit a road block yesterday first DS and DGC came for a visit followed by some good friends who popped in for a coffee
DH took a photo of the cardi, booties and hat, The hat is a new design for me, basically a rectangle folded in half. Wool is 4ply merino purchased skeinz recent sale. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1549553670.jpg

Oops Mica I meant a plastic crate not tub. I didn't get that far today but I did get the dishes and washing done. Did some photos I needed for our case manager instead.

Spoke to MrP hes still dwelling on things and blaming everyone else of course.

Missys Parcels arrived so ill put my building skills to work later.

Love the set Mica.. the hat will look like a pixie style hat.. love blue and white together

17130

morning ladies :) I love your knitting, mica. That's a lovely blue and the hat is an interesting style. The baby receiving your set is very lucky.

I pottered around with my box yesterday afternoon and decided I would hand stitch the lining in without extra cardboard support. So after unpicking a fair bit, I stitched one side in and semi prepared the rest. The old adage measure twice, cut once, went out the window and I had to cut some pieces again. It's taking shape and I can see how it will look when all put together now. Hopefully I can finish the lining today and make a start on the lid. Next time round I'll be quicker as I'm still finding my way with this one.

First though, I'm going to have yet another go at the stubborn aggies that just won't die. I'm thinking that after all this rain, the ground would be softer now and easier to dig. The bin man has been already (6.30am!) so I can refill the green waste bin before I bring it in. I can only try lol.

Happy crafting :)

Kiwimade those Aggie's are doomed with you on their case LOL. Sounds like you are making progress with your box.
I finished a front and up to a sleeve armhole decrease on grey cardi. Also finished crop top and tights so they will get an outing at my next gym session.
Off to shop for new pot this morning.

Sounds like you are having fun teaching yourself on the way of making the box Kiwimade.
Our stubborn Taurean streak will get those aggies come hell or High water ..lol

Im off to do bloods this morning and drop of some papers for winz etc.. Im feeling nervous.

Dont really know what else Ill do today, the bones are a bit niggly this morning...

morning ladies :) Yesterday I dug out about half a wheelie bin of those stubborn aggies. I was right about the soil being softer but the big clump is still very stubborn. I'm going to have to talk to a professional I think and find out what the best way is to get rid of them. There are still a few small pieces to be dug out and I'll get to them eventually.

I have finished the inside of the box and started the lid as I planned. Even MrK is impressed lol. There is a lot of hand sewing making it a slow process. The first thing I'm going to do though is clean my iron as it's sticking to fabric. Hopefully I can finish the box today.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Sounds like you have all been busy crafting etc.

I managed to get a crate from one of the oppies yesterday so I have room to put the satin away keeping it clean and dry. And Ill take the strain from the drawers of fabric too lol.

I was sick last night, I suspect the "odd" sausage I found in the freezer was a Heller's one. Cos they make me sick every time. So I'm feeling a little seedy today.
Have a few things to take up to MrP this morning.. so I better get sorted.

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, Been out to morning tea and some shopping. Came home and hang out the washing it a very warm sunny today, after a cool wet day yesterday. Had the fire going yesterday most of the day.
My nets in the bedroom have been replaced now and need to replace the lounge/dining room curtains and nets.
I put out some yarn that been sitting around far too long, Going to knit some hats, scarves etc. We still have families in the camping ground, motels in cars etc or give them to one of the op shops.
Turning the back part of the carshed into a craft room. It's been a long job! I'm over it.
Have a mass of Spring Bulbs coming up now. I have to wait to see how they are after the flooding last Nov.
Thanks, Mica for sharing the tip about cleaning the iron. Job to do before I attack the ironing tonight.
Looking forward to seeing your box Kiwimade.
Sorry to hear you were unwell last night Popeye. Just reminded me that I need to clean out my freezer as well.
Enjoy your afternoon.

morning ladies :) I hope you are on the mend today, popeye.

That's a lovely idea. sunflowers. I'm sure the scarves and hats will be appreciated. And I love your idea of using the back of the garage as a craft room.

Thanks for the cleaning tip, mica. I'll give that a go today as my efforts to clean the iron yesterday weren't that good.

I finished the box yesterday. It's not perfect but I know what to do and not do now and how I can improve it. There is an awful lot of hand sewing and some sore fingers even when using a thimble. So now I'm going to plan our daughter's box.

While bringing the washing in Tuesday, I was stung by something in the peg box and my right hand ring finger is swollen and sore. MrK suspects it was a wasp as he saw a few hanging around. Vinegar really does work for their sting! Thank goodness I'm a leftie :)

It's a real pea souper of fog out there so I suspect today will mostly be indoors.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Ohh Kiwimade that is sooo cool... Its awesome.. And as you say its a prototype really so you can learn the ins and outs of it.

Ouchies re the finger.. Little buggers. We have a hornets nest on a yakka on the side of the driveway that I avoid like the plague.

Felt horrible yesterday but I went and saw MrP.. not an ounce of sympathy but then thats the norm. Have sore muscles now from being sick so Im trying not to cough cos it hurts them lol.
Ive decided to do his washing, he has lost some jeans and a brand new belt already and hes only been there 2 weeks today..
It feels like soo much longer.

Need to do a bit of tidying up today and that will be about it..

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. Its clear blue sky out the window here in the office and the sun out. Boy, it's cold here inside. Something telling me I need to put a heat pump in. The only problem is no one can see where to put it. My dining lounge room was once two bedrooms, so the outside wall is all windows. The main bedroom was once the lounge in the front of the house. They added a room off the lounge as the third bedroom. Which became my sewing/craft room. I love this room as it has a sliding door that opens out to the back of the house and is warm year-round. Once I get the fire going it warms up the whole house.
Knitted a cover for my cellphone last night. Added padding and stitched it up ready to go.
Sorry to hear Popeye that they have lost some clothes of Mr P. I know you named everything, so next time you go down where they do the washing and get staff to have good look around with you. It takes up your time when you would like to do what you want to do. When I was visiting Mr M. I checked that his clothes had can back to his room and put away. Yes! I did follow up a few times looking for Mr M things.

Love your box Kiwimade. I have some patterns in my book art bag. There are also some good patterns on here as well. I try and go to the monthly meetings and once a year we have a gathering for 4 days. The Room we use is an old big house over in Havelock North. Try and have a look for some patterns for you on here.
Well ladies I have better move as I need to replace some nets in the bedroom and see what I can replace my lounge /dining curtains as well.
There are always good sales on Queen Birthday weekend. Ha, Ha.,
Have a great day.

morning ladies :) Another pea souper of a morning here. The fog is so thick we can't see across the road and yet cars are still being driven without lights on. Just plain crazy.

My finger the wasp stung on Tuesday seems to be better today. It's still swollen but it's lost that 'tight-as-a-drum' feeling and it doesn't seem as red.

There are good sales over the long weekend, Sunflowers. I need new gumboots as mine have a hole in one of them. I might have a look at Farmlands and see if they have their Field Day's specials on now.

Housework for me today and then I think I'll plan our daughter's sewing box. It's not safe to be working out on the roadside with this fog so I'll have to give the aggies a miss this morning.

Happy crafting :)

Cute box Kiwimade.
No crafting yesterday for some reason very 5ired so just did my volunteer stint in the morning, bought buttons for grey cardi and did grocery shop. Started another cardi new to me pattern.
Off to the gym this morning wearing my new gym gear that I made last week. It fits and very comfy .
Want to drop off some bedding to local op shop this morning then might spend some time in the cave tracing off some patterns.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone

We have fog here too Kiwimade.. Well they call it fog its never been as heavy as what the Waikato does lol.

I had a crap painfull day yesterday and was the same when I woke up this morning so I took an oxy and its certainly helped today.
I have more washing to hang and Id like to try and do something in the sewing room so Ill see how I get on.

Wow I dont know how time managed to whizz by Queens birthday already. It only feel like February minus the heat lol

The last few days with MrP have been ok.. I will go see him tomorrow.. After Ive been pot lid hunting at the Junktion lol.. I got one as a temporary measure but Ill see if I can find a "safer" one lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone

Yup up early, MrP wants pork crackle so its in the cooker lol. And I have a few more things ready to take up to him... he's telling me that our Dr is leaving. And that the one he saw yesterday reckons he doesn't need to be there. So I need to check this out and get that Dr up to speed. How someone who has seen a new patient for the first time can "know" him well enough to know what he needs is beyond me.

Had a quiet day yesterday, just some housework. I do finally have the crates sorted to move the fabric around tho so I might get that done over the weekend.

Ive given in trying to figure out which colours Im missing for the diamond painting and ordered a new complete Kit.... That means of course I will find the spares once the new one arrives... Its very rare that I lose anything. Im a bit methodical in putting things away not down.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) MrP may have a new doctor but MrP's notes will be on record so he will be up to speed, popeye. What a buggar having to buy a new kit. And yep, the missing ones will turn up.

Yesterday, the fog lifted for about two hours so it was a bleak day. When I picked MrK up last evening from his mates, there was fog so thick I was driving slowly. This morning, it's gone, no sign of it at all.

This morning I think I'll have another attempt at the smaller aggies. I'll dig out what I can and then find out what I can do about the rest. Will be so glad when they are gone.

Still thinking about my next project, I need to buy/find some card and I don't think I'll have enough 'right' fabric in my stash to make another box so will pop into Spotlight when out and about next.

Happy crafting :)

Morning ladies,
Lazy start this morning started reading a book in bed next thing it is 8 am
Popeye annoying having to get another kit but you will find the others and have some spares lol
Kiwimade sounds like you need some explosives to blast those Aggie's out, do t suppose you can tow them out.
Got my coatigan back all nicely pressed I have written a review https://sewing.patternreview.com/review/pattern/174789
Knitted a cute wee hat last night DD will be visiting later today so she can take what I have knitted so far home
Not sure what I will do today after some house work

morning ladies :) omggg I love love love your coatigan, mica! The Hong Kong finish was just perfect and the red you chose is gorgeous. It's an interesting pattern too, with the darts on the outside. I bet it's warm and cosy.

Those blimmen aggies, mica lol. Unfortunately we live on a very busy main highway so we can't tow them out and I'll have to find an alternative way. I'm thinking if I cut them hard back (again!!!) and cover them with plastic or an old tarp held down by riverstones, they won't get sunlight and should die. It will take a while but it would be spray free. I'll run that idea by MrK and see what he thinks.

I found an embroidery pattern small enough for the top of our daughter's sewing box as it saves me having to draw a design. I'm not going to make the same box as the hexagon is a pain in the butt to put the lid on. I've had another idea which will simplify things but need to gather a few bits and bobs first.

Time to get cracking.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Its a simple idea of having the darts showing but it adds class eh.. And I Love the colour..

Grey and dull here today.. Much the yesterday too.

I nipped up to the junktion to see if I could find a better fitting pot lid and the first one I grabbed from the top of the box fitted perfectly.. Yay...The person on the checkout remembered me buying the pot so they didn't charge me. I now have two of the Hampton Mason I think it is pots and they have wonderful heavy bases.. I have had one for years, not the same brand but its perfect for making fudge. If you burnt anything in these pots it would be your own fault for not checking.

Went to see MrP, he keeps his room sooo hot... Ill be telling him off next time. And he keeps his door closed, being very anti social.. Its time he opened his door and let the world in. They are removing the catheta on Tuesday, his body is rejecting it.

Ive got a pair of his trackies that he hacked the elastic off the legs to hem so hope to do that this morning.
Then Im going out.. Its time I looked for a replacement of my Fave nightie which is 23 years old lol. Im going to look in postie plus,, I havent been in there for over 10 years lol.. I never think of it, which is dumb cos its in the same area as the warehouse lol.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Another very wet day today and I'm glad we're not on the Coromandel. Yesterday I raked the leaves just in time for more rain. It was good to be outside, even if it was for a short time.

MrK likes my idea of smothering the aggies and thinks he has an old tarp I can use that would be perfect for the job. Once all this rain clears up I'll get on with that.

The swelling where the wasp stung me has finally gone down and I can bend my finger properly now. It's been a week tomorrow so has taken a while.

I can't do much to the box at the moment until I have my bits and bobs so yesterday I started a small embroidery for a tray mat. I unpicked a quilted placemat we never use to reuse the batting for backing. Today I hope to work a bit more on the embroidery. It may be a small piece but there's a lot of stop-start with it.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Wow Kiwimade 6 days is a long time for a sting eh.

I did MrPs trackies yesterday, he used nurses scissors to do it but he managed to get them the same length lol.

I did nip over to Pukekohe, didnt find a nightie, they're all short, only to the knees, Nighties need to be able to curled ya legs into them. So Im going to look for a pattern an fabric at some stage.

My best buy was 4 towels worth $50 each for $10 each. I brought white since I didnt like the other colours and now Im wondering what on Earth I was doing.. They might have to be guest towels so they wont need washing so often lol.
Today Im going into the sewing room. It looks like a bomb went off in there. It will be good therapy lol.

Have a fab day everyone
