Morning everyone
We had weird fog yesterday. It came down and then the middle of town cleared but a ring around the countryside stayed. lol.. Was a nice day after it totally went of course.

Im sitting here with the phone tucked under my ear on the covid line. I got texts a couple of days ago, but two more this morning. I suspect its for MrP not me. I started with 151 people ahead of me and just gone down to 44 so they are moving quickly.
He had his first shot yesterday. And his second shot is on a Saturday which is good but we have to go back up there to do it...

My INR came back its dipped a little lower at 1.9, I have to be between 2.0 and 3.0 so I dont need to change my dose or repeat it earlier than planned.

Awesome bargain Kiwimade, and especially for Farmers. I too got a bargain. They had brand new men's singlets still in the packets for $2 each at our oppies so I got 5 for MrP. I love being in the right place at the right time.

I will try and get another curtain undone today.. I enjoy undoing things lol.

I should vacuum but time will tell lol..

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. Not sure how the day going to end up. Look South and see dark rain clouds come up. Lookout over towards the waterfront area and the sun out.
Yesterday finally had the lining remove from the walls, the next step is for them to spray it all, finally reline and paint it. They are also going to do a couple of jobs on the shed for me.

I've cut out two bags, which will get sewen and a few other jobs. over the w/end. Just about finished my baby blanket.
Off out to dinner tonight. Looking forward to it.
Good to hear you are getting on with life and doing what you want to do. I know it hard Popeye when your loved one in a rest home.
So what did you do for your birthday the other day?

Op shopping sounds good to me. We have 5 op shops in one street in Taradale. It's handle when they are all together. and a couple of others nearby.
Good to hear you are doing some gardening as well.
Hope you have a great day with family and friends over the w/end kiwimade. See you still working away on your gardens as well.
Everyone else has a great weekend. Give your selves some me-time as well.
Have a great day..

morning ladies :) Looks like the rain is coming a day early, it's pretty overcast out there. Not cold though but no doubt MrK will say it's freezing lol.

Good to hear things are moving along with your home, sunflowers. It's been a long time coming.

MrK's INR dipped a bit too, popeye. He can have months of it being nice and stable and then out of the blue, it will change. Our doctor doesn't phone him anymore about it as he knows MrK can manage his warfarin himself. MrK just phones for his results and the nurse phones back and MrK tells her what he's going to do lol.

There are more leaves to rake this morning before the rain starts. I'll use them for mulching part of the garden I couldn't do. The blimmen aggies I couldn't dig out refuse to die, stubborn things! They are actually growing.
Looks like I need to buy some other sort of weed killer, something for serious weeds like blackberry.

I'll be able to knit or sew a bit more when the rain comes, will be nice to just sit :)

Happy crafting :)

Sounds .ike everyone is busy around the house and crafting. Sounds like you might need the big guns for those Aggie's KM.
Our pole did get changed yesterday. They turned off the power before the official 9am start. I had jus got out of shower with wet hair. Not pretty sight trotting a.ong the road to a neighbours hairdryer In hand LOL.
Got to hunt for food this morning then hope to spend time in sewing cave preparing everything I need for 2 sewing projects. If there is time will cut out DGS orange merino tshirt. Made DD knit track pants on Wed which she loves so all good

Morning everyone

Overcast here too.

I have my results text to me Kiwimade. My dose hasn't changed for quite a while now. I gave up worrying about why it might have dipped or got high years ago and just accepted that some times we have no idea why it changes lol.. The only foods I avoid is cranberry juice and Brussel Sprouts lol.. Especially the sprouts cos I have no self control on those lol.

The cheek of those Aggies.. yep time for the big Guns lol..

Nice when things are appreciated eh Mica3.

I got as far as taking the old tape off the curtain, put it down for lunch and someone decided she needed it more than I did.. Sooo I might turn it into a bed for her lol.

MrP is having a blast.. One thing he loves is eggs, and I asked him at lunchtime if they have a cooked breakfast. He said they hadn't so far. But talking to him last night he said they are having bacon and eggs this morning. The cook told him and said not to tell anyone else lol..

I need to do the floors and a load of dishes today , then Ill try and get the side seams undone on the curtain. Its a good thick fabric so would handle Missy kneading it etc lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Bit cooler here today need to find some of my polo shirts bit chilly in singlets. I have been trying to sneak out of bed for a while but every time l move Violet snuggles in closer l love the closeness and know it will be uncool in the next few years. She us 9 next month and us growing so fast, she is finally doing well at school and is happy to go.
I am busy knitting for my great grandson who is due in 6 weeks and also meeting my great granddaughter who was born in December. I am doing winter jackets for both of them. I attended the baby shower by zoom last weekend and my granddaughter is just blooming. My contribution was a little pair of earmuffs as dad has a stock car so he will be in noisrvfrom an early age they were thrilled with the gift no one else thought of them.

morning ladies :) Exciting times for you huntlygirl! Two greatgrandies! Giving ear muffs was a brilliant idea, I've seen children wearing them at loud places and wondered why we never did that. Such a simple, practical idea to protect their hearing.

We're in for a wet few days but it is calm at the moment. Am thinking of mowing the lawn shortly as the grass is still growing.

I opened the back door when I got up this morning and now I have a visitor, our neighbour's dog is making herself at home and wanting cuddles as I type. The Furry One has gone outside to meet and greet the other neighbour's dog who is too timid to jump the gate. Seems our home is the place to be this morning lol. Omg now I have our Furry One and a large border collie X chasing each other madly around the living room. Time for outside play I think lol.

Knitting and ironing later today is on the agenda.

Happy crafting :)

Morning Everyone

Happy mothers day to our Mothers in here.

I have to admit Im pleased to see the rain. And Im naughty. Every year, well not last year we have a big street market with hot rods, stalls, bands, helicopters and every so often Fighter planes doing a display.
I discovered that I have panic attacks when I hear the planes.. So if it keeps things quiet Ill be ok.

I can imagine the 2 dogs Kiwimade.. Both frisky lively breeds lol.

Missy's latest habit is chasing her tail, like she has finally discovered it for the first time.. Except she's either Clever or Stupid cos she chases it on the back of MrP's Chair lol..

Ive put our lawns to monthly for the winter, mainly also cos shortly our money is going to be a mess. And since we dont have kids or anything to run around on it, it wont hurt it if it gets long. And also gives the mower people a break if it rains.

I slept really soundly last night, only got up once so needless to say I'm very creaky today. So Ill be doing some more unpicking today

One biscuit I never buy cos I have no "Stop" button is raspberry slice. A friend had a tutu with the recipe a couple of days ago. She used the sweet short pastry, the Unrolled one. Rolled two pieces out, baked till pretty much cooked. One in a swiss roll tray then other one not. She then used raspberry jam and cut the top to fit. Baked it another 20 minutes and when cold she iced it with raspberry flavoured icing.. I am SOOOO Tempted lol. But I could use one of the blocks in the packet cos there are two in the packet... and that would help limit the amount I end up with lol

I'm terrible lol. Completely forgot it was Mother's Day lol so Happy Mothers Day to all our Mums and to our Mums. The berms are all mowed and leaves raked and spread as mulch just as it started to rain. Timed perfectly lol. I'm leaving the main lawn until closer to the end of next week so they are mowed for our wedding anniversary lunch but the berms will have enough growth to take all the cars parked there.

Time for a cuppa, then ironing.

Morning everyone

Yep up early on this wet day.

Im visiting MrP today so hoping that the roads are good and that ill leave earlier than normal to at least miss the Afternoon school traffic. he gets transferred down here on Friday so this will be the last trip up there, which Im very pleased of. I dont mind driving etc but its wasted time really.

morning ladies :) It's a wet and soggy day out there but I'm not complaining as we need the rain.

There are more leaves to rake this morning and we're not even halfway through them yet. I'll do that in between the showers.

MrK has built me a 'recycling box' for the paper recycling. I use a supermarket hessian bag but it keeps flopping over and is a nuisance. This is made out of old recycled rimu flooring and is just lovely. So our paper recycling will be stored away in style lol.

Last night the freeloading mouse was caught in the trap but the Furry One is telling us we have another. Gotta love rural living. He has to check out the trap when the mouse is caught but won't eat it, thank goodness.

I did a bit more knitting last evening and am almost finished this block. I should have washed the wool I unpicked as it's horrible to knit all crinkled up. I might do that with what's left over and wash the mohair throw I knitted a few years ago at the same time. I'll have to You Tube how to use my niddy-noddy again as it's been a while since I have put wool into hanks.

Happy crafting :)

Raining here.
Finished DD baby blanket and now have the rib completed for back of wee cardi so on a knitting roll.
Sewing this afternoon, taking in waistband on a pair of my jeans, they fit in the hips but baggie in the waist, then will cut out some dark navy merino to make a cardi for DD. sewed up a bright orange tshirt yesterday for DGS. orange is a fav colour of his.
Keep up the crafting :)

mica3 - 2021-05-10 12:27:00

morning ladies :) The day looks a bit clearer today and there's a breeze which will help shift those clouds.

I love orange too, mica. I don't care if it goes out of style, I just love it. I don't wear it though but have crocheted a throw for the living room in a deep, spicy, pumpkin orange and the garden is slowly becoming more orange coloured.

Yesterday I knocked on a lady's door and asked her if I could have her leaves that were all raked into a huge mountain as our trees won't have enough leaves to cover the rest of the garden. I ended up with eight big rubbish bags chokka of leaves. I've mulched half of it and spread it on the garden (am waiting for baby oak trees to spring up lol). it didn't matter that they were wet as I could fit more in the bags. And I know it's the 'wrong' time to do this because of seeds but they are easily pulled out and our soil desperately needs building up. The lady was happy as a lot of her leaves were gone and I was happy, so a win-win for us both. I'll do the rest of the bags today or tomorrow.

The neighbour's dog tried to come through the Furry One's doggy door at 11.30pm last night. She really is lonely in spite of having a family of her own. The Furry One couldn't believe his luck lol, and no, we don't start playing at that hour of the night!

I'll do a bit more knitting later, am onto the last square for this block.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

The sun is out at the mo.

I like Orange too but have never worn it. But I have brought 3 tops this year, two are more a terracotta orange and one is a nice bright orange but that will be a summer top.
I cant wear yellow it makes me look ill so Im hoping the orange will be ok.

Good score on the leaves Kiwimade.. and it helps two people.

How much more do you have to do on your blanket? Id love to make another one but dont have the need for one

I saw MrP yesterday, he actually walked down to the dining room with me at lunchtime. His left leg is very weak now. I'm sure he has had another stroke, and its turning inwards too.
The singlets fitted, (sadly they sold out) but at least I got 5. He just simply started eating all his junk food I took in.
There is a man there that eats huge amounts of food and always looking for food so MrP taunted him by telling the man Id taken him in a bacon butty lol.

Today Im going to hang all his hangers etc back up and clear his bed. Its been a dumping ground lol..

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning from a very warm windy HB
Kiwimaide your neighbourhood dog story brought back a hilarious memory - we had a cat door and our neighbours Labrador was desperate to get at the cat food any chance he got he vacuumed it up in a flash - but anyway one day I came home from work and here he was firmly jammed in the cat door - but the best was to come - one morning the neighbour knocked on my door with my cat door in her hand - her silly lab had obviously got stuck again and had arrived home wearing my cat door like a collar - he never gave up trying
Have finished the body of my blanket and now have only the border - I had run out of the darkest grey so sent for more - it was dispatched from the UK 29/4 arrived 5/5 - I thought I would be waiting for weeks
Pleased Mr P is accepting the changes Popeye - bet Missy is wondering when he will be home

Lol Gerry Ive seen photos of Dogs wearing Cat doors lol

Lets face it tho, Labs can be rather Loopy at times .. led by their stomachs lol

That was fast for wool, pleased you have the right one now.

MrP is accepting being up in town, but I imagine once he has been back here for a few weeks he will want to come home.

17067

morning ladies :) lmao gerry, omg what a dog! Our old labby was into as much food as she could find too. She even walked on the pads of her paws so her nails wouldn't click on the floor to sneak the cats' food. She could walk behind me in the kitchen and I wouldn't know she was even there until too late. The two cats were eventually fed on top of the freezer in the laundry to stop it. That was super quick for your wool! There must be huge amounts of freight waiting to be delivered out there.

I'm just knitting until I run out of wool, popeye. We don't need another blanket either so I can put it away 'just in case' it's needed or donate it to a charity. I could even tuck it away for when we borrow my sisters camper van. I finished a 'block' last evening and will darn in the ends sometime today.

It's a little overcast this morning but not cold by any means. I'll trim the lawn edges before it rains again and then tomorrow all I have to do is mow so the lawn is looking good for Saturday. I still have bags of leaves to mulch so if the weather stays like this, I'll get that done as well.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Lol Kiwimade I reckon Labs are the sneakiest breed. We adopted a nearly white lab from the SPCA , he was 7 stone, and huge. His name was harley so very quickly became Harley Davids son lol.. He used to love being in the truck with MrP .

It was warm again last night, I got up and put the fan on at 2am. Apparently a southerly is coming Yay.. There has to be some good cold days to be able to say we have had winter lol.

I didnt get the clothes hangers hung up yesterday. I had to take my library books back and pick up a letter and ended up talking with the lady in our old place. We get on really well.

So thats my plan for the morning.. Madam hasnt sat on the curtain for a few days so Im guessing she has "Finished" with it so Ill carry on undoing that one.

Have a fab day everyone

I love the sound of this!

Two bags of leaves mulched and on the garden and lawn edges trimmed. I'm just keeping an eye on the weather as bigggg black clouds are coming over and washing is on the line. Kettle's on for a cuppa.

Good morning 12 degree drop in temperature from yesterday - working on a big blanket is handy - yesterday I was bored working on the border so my mathematical brain clicked into gear - I have crocheted 57,600 stitches in the blanket and the 6 row border is another 6000 stitches - sounds an awful lot

gerry64 - 2021-05-12 11:18:00
17072

Love the sound of the Navy and orange Mica.

Ouch thats a big drop Gerry..

I too have a mathematical methodical brain so Numbers are my sort of thing.

Especially at night when looking at the digital clock, I know the orders of the numbers in a straight run etc.. for both the 12 and 24 hour clocks.. but it clears my head and I sleep.. I dont need sheep lol

Its hit the fan again, they have postponed MrPs arrival down here.. so its not till next week. He is performing. I warned them they would. Its all my fault and our Drs.. So he hung up again.

I did tell him that he doesn't listen to me and its time he did, before he hung up ..lol

morning ladies :)

Good on you for standing your ground, popeye. I can understand how frustrating it all is for both of you, but his behaviour is unacceptable.

We were watching the weather on the news the other day and saw you were going to have a massive temperature drop, gerry. I bet it was a shock to the system! That's an awful lot of stitches when you work it out like that. Imagine how much yarn/wool we have all used over our lifetimes!

Yesterday afternoon I finally put the unraveled wool I had unpicked into hanks. Took a quick look at niddy noddys on a You Tube clip, turned the instructions around so this leftie could use them and away I went. Once the weather clears up I'll wash the hanks and they will be good to go. I mowed the rest of the lawn late afternoon and am glad I did as today isn't looking too flash weather wise.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone.

Tis a tad cooler today..Yay

I rang him again last night and initially he was still having a paddy but in the end he was ok.
He doesn't like the idea but I just kept telling him I couldn't look after him any more. I wont be giving in.
Im not going to spend the rest of my life taking big pain meds and probably killing my liver at the same time too. Ive yet to point that out to him, its a last bullet per sae.
I have to go do a proper grocery shop today, first time for a month lol. So I will go to Pak n Save for that.
Will ring MrP before I go since I wont be home at our normal time.

I remember Mum pulling jumpers apart, washing and re-using the wool. No winder thingees tho.. She learnt tho not to get me to wind the wool into balls cos I always stretched it tight lol. My balls of wool could bounce lol. MrP has memories of being the Arms that hold the hanks while his mother rolled the balls.

Right I had better get myself sorted etc,

Good morning - chilly again heavy rain during the night but blue skies are starting to appear
Popeye you will have your ups and downs but after he hangs up he will either keep sulking or get on with life as it is in his rest home - there is always somebody around or something going on to distract him
Kiwimade don’t try the wool winder on YouTube - the electric beater cardboard tube model -my old boy tried to tell me it wouldn’t work and it didn’t - you put the cardboard inner from a toilet roll over the beater thingee - put the hank of wool on the chairs and tie it to the toilet roll holder switch the beater on and away you go - it was a spectacular fail -I reacted slowly instead of turning the beater off instantly and I ended up with the biggest tangle on the floor imaginable- I went back to just winding by hand
Cleaner is here - she is like a dynamo I think she actually enjoys housework

Good Morning Everyone. After having very warm weather, we had very heavy rain overnight. The sun out, still cool.
Having my 6-month checkup on my Spinal Cord. Have a cage around the Spinal Cord in a couple of places. This an all-day hospital visit. Yes, I have my laptop with me and an overnight bag.
Waiting now for the guys to come back remove the batts and replace the new ones in the walls. Relined and painted. A friend is going to line the roof in the back half as I store bins of fabric, wool etc. I will have a table to go in as well to have my loom set up and a place to cut out the fabric. It's my craft cave. Have sown some toilet bags, just waiting now to have them filled. Friends from a craft group fill them and pass them on to St John's. As for my knitting, I have a blanket on the go. Using all my bits and pieces. Have a couple of other projects also on the go.
Just having a second cup of tea and waiting for some results. The temp is dropping down.
Popeye, you are doing well. Keep it up. Mr P will have good and bad days when he moves into the rest home. Good to hear you are food shopping etc and enjoying reading books. I enjoy now planning my meals and cooking again. Hope you will as well. Time to move as I have an appointment at 12.30 and another couple. Yes, it's a long day, but get there in the end. Just had a call that 3 cars have pulled up next door. It needs a lot of work done before they can rent it out.
Kiwimaded, hope the weather is good for you at the weekend for your lunch.
You worked hard to have your gardens and house looking great.
Well, it time to shut down and move.
Have a great day...

morning ladies :) We have a good frost this morning! So hopefully that means a nice day.

Our daughter and grandies arrive later on today so it's going to be a full on few days. Family on both sides have all said how they are looking forward to our luncheon.

Yesterday I dug out our wedding album so we could all have a good laugh on Saturday. Omg what was I thinking wearing that lol. I Iooked like a pav!

I started knitting another block of squares last evening and am finally down to the nitty gritty of my stash. It wasn't a big stash but enough to knit something out of it all.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

We are quite sheltered here so dont often get frosts but it wouldn't surprise me if I heard there were some in town.. Its certainly cold enough.

Im sure it will be an awesome day with your families Kiwimade...

We didnt do the big white wedding as it was MrPs 2nd and we both had drinkers on both sides and one especially used to make a fool of herself. My dress is black blue and bright pink. It still fits occassionally but I doubt it would at the mo lol.

I was in spotlight yesterday, finally got some more cottons for the overlocker. They had packs of 15 x 100gram balls of acrylic for $27 which was tempting.. BUT it was 15 different colours. It would have made a pretty blanket but I wasnt tempted cos if I looked Id probably have similar anyway lol
So Im going to make a better effort to start clearing the to be done pile on the sewing table.
After I nip up the road, PnS didnt have a seed bell for canaries and our boy loves the challenge of eating them.

MrP was laughing last night. He had a yummy hot lunch and went and sat in his chair. Had his cardy on so was a nice temp , he fell into a deep sleep, but he woke up he Slid to the floor lol... No damage and at least he can laugh about it.
I asked him if he wanted me to make him a seat belt hahaha. And I could hear his big brother asking the same lol.

Have a fab day everyone.

Morning everyone

Kiwimade I hope you are enjoying your time with your family and that you have a wonderful gathering today.
My fingers are crossed that either it rained itself out over night or stays away until you have had your lunch etc.

I bumped into a lady I met through CMA a few years ago yesterday, so we had a lovely long chat in the supermarket carpark lol... but she said there is a knitting group held twice a month in the library, so Im going to go along. its on my shopping day so Ill just do that the next day.. its only a small job for me and Missy. She misses CMA as well.

Today Im going to be listing stuff on here. They have 25% off success fees if you list today. Thank you trade me.!

MrP asked me to take up his radio on Monday, he said I know I said Ill use it in my New Home but he wanted it sooner.. So Maybe he is coming to think of the new rest home as his home.. Fingers crossed.

I got into the pantry late yesterday and boxed up food that I dont use, and put it on the floor of the pantry and moved things around a little so its easier for me to use. Without so much bending.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies, My computer had a meltdown last night. Earlier in the week, I booked my computer in for a checkup, clean out etc for this coming Monday. No Facebook at present. We had heavy rain overnight, so I don't need to water my gardens and lawn for a couple of days.

Hope you have a lovely day with family and friends Kiwimade. Best Wishes to you both. Hope the weather is sunny and warm for your lunch.

Popeye, we have a kniting group at our local library as well. It sounds like you are doing well and doing things you like. It will good when they move down to the rest home nearby.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm going to catch up on some jobs that need doing. My shed has been sprayed this week. The next step is the new lining and walls painted.
Have a great day everyone.

Kiwimade it looked like you were having fun teaching the grandies to stitch. I cant remember which day you are having your gathering but its fine here so I hope it is today.

Looks like it will be a stunner here today.

MrP has been telling me stuff that Im not sure truly happened.. Im learning not really to believe anything that isn't important. falls etc are, but anything else I just agree and laugh along with him.

I did my listings yesterday, Im pleased to be back in the groove of things there. It will take a LONG time to get rid of all our stuff. or at least cut it down to manageable lol

Good morning beautiful day in the bay
Popeye that’s a good idea to start decluttering in an orderly fashion - I ended up getting pulled in all directions about what I should or shouldn’t keep when I downsized - and I am sorry about some of the things I no longer have and other stuff could have gone
Still going round and round with the border found a different stitch - herringbone hdc which is firm but is laying flat so am pleased but it’s very time consuming and it’s not quite black but very close to it
Enjoy your day everybody - you sure will be enjoying your family Kiwimade

I hope you had an awesome time Kiwimade.. The weather was good here so I hope it was for you.

Im taking more gear up to MrP today.. and I dont want to be out all day. He wants some pork crackle lol.. So i have the fryer out and will cook that before I go..
And yes Ill check three times that I have unplugged it. lol

I finished undoing another curtain yesterday and I've decided to make some bags out of the strong fabric. An idea came to my head not long after I turned the light off last night so I turned the light on the phone on and drew it out.. But to cut it in one piece would waste too much material.

Years ago when they brought out those Pam's green resusable bags MrP made me some thin wooden pieces to sit in the bags to give them strength when putting bottles in. Im down to about 3 of those bags now and they are easily 15 years old. So Im going to use the size of the boards to make the new bags.

Yes Gerry I want to gradually clear alot of stuff out.. More Enid Blyton books and Baking tins are going to be the next on the list. It will be hard especially with the baking tins but we dont need to be eating all the baking, Ill keep the minimum of what I need in case I have to make a plate type thing.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) We were very lucky with the weather. It rained in the morning but by lunchtime the sun was out and it was lovely and warm. So rather than set the food up outside, we had the food inside, dried off the outdoor furniture and ate out in the sun. Was a lovely day all round. Our daughter was cross stitching and of course Miss 7 wanted to learn so I taught her the basics. Of course it meant her brother, Master 4, wanted a go so he also had a turn. They left left yesterday morning as it's quite a drive to Whanganui from here. Couldn't believe it when I got the winter sheets washed and dried on the line by mid afternoon.

Today I have two large rubbish bags of leaves to finish mulching as well as the leaves from our trees. And there's a pile of paper rubbish and some garden waste I need to burn as well. I think there is some room in the bins for more of those aggies I have piled up. They should all be gone by next week as I can fill both bins after the bin man has been.

I've had an idea to stitch a needle book, I noticed our daughter didn't have anywhere to store her needles where they won't be blunted. And I'd like one too. Will draw up an embroidery design later today, I may even have a small practice piece somewhere that could do the trick.

happy crafting :)

Good Morning Ladies, So pleased it was fine for your family lunch outside kiwimade. It's lovely to have family and friends join you.

Went out to rack up the leaves from the two trees next door that are on the edge of the section. Everyone is tired of the leaves or over the street and in their sections. I was going up the drive with the wheelbarrow hit an old post that was cut down and left about 3" high in the drive. The guys the other w/end had a go and just too low to saw it off. Yes! over I went, skin off both legs. Blood everywhere! Just take two loads of leaves off my lawn and gardens. So the rest of it can wait. My lawns are so dry and brown. That was the end of my day outside.
Spend the rest of the afternoon feet up watching a film and did some knitting.
Yes! there was tears. Going to be a long day for me today.
Popeye, just go easy on how much clothing you taken up to Mr P. Keep a list of his clothes etc. all the best with your down sizeing and your I lost alot of things after the flood in the car shed. Go out to get something and it no longer there.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning everyone

Wow we had some rain yesterday. Very seldom I need to use the wipers on full speed. Happened 3 times yesterday. We have a speed limit of 80kms on the open roads but most were going 70 or less.

I am so pleased MrP will be coming back to town here on Thursday, Im not enjoying the trip up really. Its all on for Thursday.

Im going to look at some bag styles and patterns on here when I have time. Just to get some ideas on how to do the bottoms.

Stay safe and dry everyone

morning ladies :) Ouch, sunflowers, I bet you are feeling a bit battered and bruised this morning. Years ago I used to work for insurance companies and often people would come back to add items to their claims after a big loss as it's not until you need something that you realise it's gone.

When we downsized homes we had to declutter so I did it room by room. There are some regrets like embroidery patterns and some books I miss but overall, it was the best thing we ever did. The op shops, hospice and Trade Me did very well out of us. Now it's a breeze to keep on top of things and every so often I have another decluttering as I paint another bedroom.

It's a real winters day here with wind and rain. I felt sorry for our bin man this morning, it was bucketing down with rain when he arrived. I have a library book to post to our granddaughter today as she left it behind and I think I will make the needle book as my fingers need a break from knitting. I'll start by making the twisted cord and have a go at a tassel to jazz it up a bit. And I have to make an appointment to have my boobs squished for a mammogram. The mobile unit will be in town soon.

This is nuts lol, all that wind and rain and now the sun comes out. Better make the most of it and put more aggies into the bins, hopefully the last of them.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning - blustery old day here - my kowhai tree is just about bent double - just realised how exposed it is
Popeye it will be so much easier when he gets settled in his own room and gets his things all around him
Still plodding around with my border - it looks like knitted moss stitch quite liking it

The weather is crazy lol

I managed to get in and out of the post shop and med centre, But it absolutely hosed down when I was in the oppy.

Which was handy really, cos I went to a window to see if it was hail, which is wasn't. But it meant I saw the Posh or sharp cabinet and I got on of those herb cutter, or pizza cutter as the ladies called it for $2. The rocking one with 2 handles, but there was also a large china red Maori Fishing hook hanging with the flax plaited hanger on it. I love it and I know MrP will. So hopefully I can get it hanging without making a hole in the wall at the rest home

I got a bonus this morning lol.. Had my Flu shot while I was there for my B12 lol.. So I will have plenty of time before I can get my Covid Shots. MrP will have to wait for his flu shot cos he has already had his first covid one.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I got soaked through while binning the aggies, so much for the sun being out yesterday morning. It looks like another wet day today too.

I didn't get a chance to start the needle book yesterday, there was always something else to do. So I'll have another go today seeing as it's going to be wet again.

Time to get organised, I have a chicken casserole to prepare for the crockpot for tonight's dinner.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
I said to Missy looks like it might be a fine day today, 5 minutes later it poured down lol. Tis cooler than yesterday tho.

I have to fill in the forms today for the rest home. Ive been putting it off cos it all confused me, but then My brain was all awash with the hospital and MrPs behaviour, mind you now its in a different mode of no motivation to do anything but shop lol...

Im going to order the diamonds for Missy's Glamour shop today. I simply cant find them anywhere so I think they were thrown out.. All 3200 of them .

Stay warm and dry everyone

morning ladies :) I bet those diamonds turn up as soon as your order arrives, popeye.

We have a real doozy of fog this morning, it's so thick I can't see across the road. And yet there are cars out there without their lights on. Just plain stupid.

I have more maple leaves to rake up this morning for mulch and the cabbage tree has dropped a lot of it's leaves too. They don't compost so I'll tie them into bundles and burn them at some stage.

Yesterday I sewed my needle book and I'm quite chuffed with it. I could use a few more 'pages' but I didn't have enough felt for more. I might give this one to our daughter and make another for me with more. I'm still knitting 'blocks' and have three more squares to finish this one.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Your right Kiwimade, Ill find them the day before or something.. But Ive looked everywhere and suspect I might have thrown them out.

MrP isnt happy. they needed to delay him for about and hour. I said its so they dont leave you sitting in reception etc while they clean the room.. then he realised he wasnt coming home at all and got angry. but I had calmed him down some.. But I am pretty sure he understands how selfish he is being.. But he was also telling me some utter rubbish too so I guess Im to take each day as starting fresh.
They are going to ring me when he arrives. But I wont go straight up..

Have to do my bloods, pick up my pills and get a few things he has asked for.

I did the forms last night. There were some in there that I dont even remember seeing.. I probably got stuck on the money pages and didnt look any further.. Then MrP said some of them have already been done.

The sun is out at this stage.. its been an odd few days weather wise thats for sure.

I actually brought some wool then other day too, 700grams of 4ply acrylic for $10. Its old.. The red is wonder Wool and I cant think of the green. But awesome for christmas things. I dont think I have brought wool for me since before covid hit. I got some sock wool for my sister in law tho. So I am being good.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies from Sunny Napier. Was woken up around 2 am with a chopper going over the section heading north up the coast. Checked our local news here, didn't see anything. An hour or so later it came back going towards the hospital.

Sun is out and warm here today. Off over to Hastings later today. It's over a year since I been to the shopping area.
The guys have finished the lining of the shed and now it's another wait for the painters. Have not picked out a colour yet.
Stopped the lawn guys from cutting the lawn yesterday. It slowly coming away again, they call in next week.
Be glad once it's over and I can clean up here inside.

Wish you all the best popeye and hope Mr P get down to rest home. nearby. Just let him have a day or so before you visit. Pleased you have been out about. Hope you get to the knitting group.

Kiwimade I'm looking forward to seeing your needlebook.
Time to move, if I am going over to Hastings. Hope to have a look at Spotlight after doing a couple of jobs I have been putting off. We all put things off sometimes at some stage.

Wish you all the best and have a great day ladies

morning ladies :) It's MrK's birthday today so we are having drinks and nibbles with friends this evening.

I'll take a pic of my needlebook and post it when I can, sunflowers. MrK is making the frame for my bullrush embroidery from a red totara fencepost. It's stunning timber and the same colour as the reddy brown of the bullrushes. Once he's made it I can take it into the timber place and have a piece of glass cut for it.

Happy crafting :)

Morning, must be getting old taken nearly all week to recover from my 4 day sewing gathering.
Kiwimade the wood sounds lovely.
Going to sew some merino singlets for the The Nest Collective this afternoon. My sewing friends are saving their scraps which means more mess in my sewing room I will just have to use them up fast.

Morning everyone

Happy Birthday to MrK.. Have fun tonight.

Scraps always tend to be useful tho' Mica.

MrP finally arrived yesterday. I thought I was confused but man they rattle through forms etc so fast, cos they are used to them that I'm still wondering lol
He said its too posh for me, he said I described it well.. But he was sitting there watching TV quite happy.
It upsets me everytime I first see him tho. Cos as Much as I miss him I cant bring him home.

I took his mums picture, the blanket I made him years ago and the Dog I got him for a housewarming. There was a lady at the last place who gave him a plant and I know the name but cant think of it. So that was lovely.

I have to go up with some more info today but I have to ring winz first.

I need to get a card to send to the other home too, I meant to get it yesterday.

I wish I could get motivated to do some craft, maybe next week would help tho.

Have fun everyone and have a fab day

morning ladies :) Lucky you, mica, being given those scraps :) What a good excuse to sew lol.

Good to hear MrP is settling into his new lifestyle, popeye. It will take a while for you both to get used to the 'new normal'. There's a very good thread in Parenting about putting loved ones into rest homes.

Here's my needlebook. It's not fancy but it does the trick. The next one I sew will have more pages but that was pretty much all the felt I had. I had given a big bag of felt away not long ago lol. Typical lol. And I've had an idea for our daughter's birthday present in December but I need to buy some pretty fabric for that so will look around for some. I'll know it when I see it.

happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Ohh Kiwimade that is sooo cool.. Love the fabric.. And very handy.

I went up to see him yesterday with a few more things, and his new slippers, which we had to cut the elastic on and by the time I had finished i was sooo sore.

It hit the fan last night with MrP as soon as he answered his phone he started yelling about crap meals etc etc.. I said its not my fault tell them.. In the end.. It was me that hung up on him, telling him he Might see me Sunday if he was lucky.

Had a rough night but then slept till 9am so I must have needed it lol...

Today Im going to play in the pantry again. Ive managed to get more Tupperware seals in the same colour that I got in the mid 90's.. So I can change the few odd ones.
Retro Tupperware is Very in at the mo so I'm going to, list some of my stash.. Ive been collecting for years, always thinking it was an investment. So Ill test the waters on here.
Oh I have listings finish today too so that will be my down time lol.

Have a fab day everyone
