I agree Popeye - we had regular visits from the public nurse especially after he had a fall and because he was on oxygen 24 hours his nose needed care - what I learned quickly was that the care givers were brilliant but the admin side of it was left wanting and until hospice came on board I was struggling even though my son was taking care of so much

morning ladies :) I can't speak highly enough of hospice, they were bl**dy amazing with both mum and dad and now with my sister-in-law. Fantastic people who know what's what and get things done.

The bin man has just been. We have a new driver and omg he's early. Perfect for when I want early starts in the garden. So before I bring the bins in I'll fill the garden one up from the weeding I did Sunday. Yesterday I mulched a massive amount of shrubbery using the lawnmower and only have a few thick branches left which I'll burn when they dry out. *sigh* if I had a mulcher they would be in chips too. But the ash from the fire pit is composted so all good.

I started another corner of the food cover yesterday and hope to finish that bit today. Am thinking of dotting dragonflies randomly through the middle. When it's finished I'll take it into the uniform shop here and ask them to overlock the edges. I really miss my overlocker and regret selling it.

Suns up and the two dogs have had their fun barking at the bin man. I swear they are accusing him of stealing our stuff lol.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
I thought hospice was for terminal people?.. Im not sure what we have here but I know there is a Hospice shop in Pukekohe so there must be one there at least.
I havent heard back from the Orthopedics. Will ring again soon. Ohh and the district nurses cos they didnt reply to my message either.

Id be lost without my overlocker Kiwimade. I had an ancient one many years ago that was throwing wobblies too often so I gave it away. Love my new one thats probably 8-10 years old maybe lol.. I cant remember if I had it before mum died or not lol and thats 10 years next month.

I just have some more vacuuming to do in the morning in the lounge and I want to wash the benches down fully and then Im done.

Hahaha Missy who turned 7 yesterday has just settled down with her two front feet on the cold Hottie.. I guess she wants me to warm it up for her lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Your Missy on the hotty made me smile. In the winter we heat the heat pack and put it under the covers and the feline finds it and snuggles down.
Started knitting another baby blanket on Sunday so that will keep me occupied at night for the next couple of weeks.
Quilting this afternoon hopefully will finish and get the binding on something else to hand stitch at night.

Popeye - that’s what I thought as well about the hospice - but they are amazing - they obviously have contacts within the health system and can hurry things up - contact them online and see whether you could use their support - if not no harm done
I am still struggling with my graphghan - I am not used to doing masculine colours and it’s so blimmin complicated - I cant put photos on here from my iPad my skills only stretch to putting photos on Facebook - must get my son to show me how
I have asked my neighbour for some seeds from her beautiful bronze sun flowers - they are simply stunning

morning ladies :) Another fine day in the Waikato :) I can't do much more in the garden until I can get rid of the garden waste piles. The mulch has been ordered and will arrive in a couple of weeks so that gives me time to clear it all away. I found a way of killing off agapanthus online yesterday without using sprays (which hardly work on them anyway) and without digging them out. Will give it a go on the bigger clumps that are going to be lots of work to dig out. The smaller clumps I can manage. I'm going to plant hydrangeas in their place as they only need pruning and can be mulched.

I've almost finished the second corner of the food cover, yesterday I had a 'me' day and did a bit more than usual. This morning I'm going to tackle the windows and around the door frames. The flies are back and they need doing.

Hope everything is being sorted for you both, popeye.

Those bronze sunflowers are gorgeous, gerry. Lucky you being given some seeds!

Happy crafting :)

Morning Ladies from Sunny Hawkes Bay. It's going to be a long week every thing I've done so far this week gone wrong. Went out yesterday to return my books and get some easy reading. What did I get a book on sewing bags and the other on sarves. Couple of books to read. Popeye make a call to the local hospice. There is staff on 24 hours,7 days aweek. Will visit and see what you need and bring it out to you.Go to meetings with you and apointments. They check that you yourself is ok as well.
Kiwimade, I'm hoping to get into the gardens over Easter. Have to get on top of it or I will have no flowers vegies etc. My herbs are doing well. It's something I use alot in my cooking ,salads etc. Look forward to seeing new stitching piece. Have wool on my neddles, need to pick it up in the evenings more.
Had a message to say that the crew are coming in to spray the carshed and remove the lining today.
Coffee break over,so I better move and do some work around the place.
Enjoy your day Ladies...

Afternoon everyone,
MrP had another fall last night.. But wasnt hurt. Time will tell if he has bruised more. he had his shower this morning, a different lady but we knew her from the other house. She was shocked to see how much weight MrP has lost.

We had fog this morning so it is a beautiful day now. Not alot of wind tho so its warm in the sun.

I popped up the road for some "bluey's" for his bed. And stopped at the oppy. I missed the tumbler I was looking for.. I should have got it when I saw it.

But I got 3 lovely pieces of Fabric tho two are 6 meters long the other 2m. One of the 6 meter ones is quite a heavy piece and it looks like it may have been hand painted.. It would look really cool on our cream couch. but it would also make a nice pinafore for winter over a fine merino jumper. Im thinking I might need to get another plastic crate cos the drawers are full oops lol.

They haven't arrived for the inspection yet, they are normally in the afternoon tho... but the nurse will be here at 2 also lol.. Busy place this morning.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) MrP will be feeling a bit battered by now, popeye. Hopefully the hospital bed will get to you soon. The fabric sounds lovely, there is never anything like that in our op shops. Or if there is, it's long gone. To be fair though, I'm hardly go into town now.

I have made a list of things to be done so yesterday I started with the first item and washed down all the window and door frames and cleaned the inside windows. The dust from the onion harvesting gets into and onto everything. Sugar soap does a really good job with fly dirt. This morning I plan to pull the fridge and oven out and clean underneath them both. Not a job I'm looking forward too so the sooner I start, the sooner I finish. We have a drawer that doesn't work properly and we can't take it off the runners until the oven has been pulled out so MrK is going to sort that out at the same time. It's just the daft angle of the bench.

I finished the second corner of the food cover yesterday and MrK suggested instead of dotting dragonflies randomly over it why not make a circle of dragonflies in the middle. Something to think about.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning everyone

Yes I think MrP is more sore now than he was when he came out of hospital. Our new helper came yesterday, we did have her for a while a couple of years ago, she was nice and gentle with his shower.

The house inspection went well and we asked about the stupid door catches which all stick out a good half an inch from the door frame and are very sharp. Ill follow up with an email tho cos they tend to do nothing or forget.
The acc nurse came and tended to his legs, she is lovely.

Yeah I used to be at the oppies every Tuesday and Thursday Kiwimade. They didn't open on Mondays back then and the new stock was always put out on the Thursday. Now they are open 6 days a week and have a huge staff.

I like the sound of the extra dragonflies Kiwimade.. Would make them all stand out.
I dreamt that the fabric I got was double the length so Ill have a look when we get home from shopping. Its hard to resist a nice bit of fabric even when you know you have plenty.

I hope they got some good work done in your Garage Sunflowers, what a relief it will be when you have everything back in order.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning - I think my mother visited me in the night she left me a knitted toy for me to finish that she started 40 odd years ago but told me there is a mistake in the pattern row 97. So I went to bed feeling very annoyed as I have done row 103 four times of the blanket I am crocheting and end up one stitch over - one row is 240 stitches with 43 balls of alternating colours so it’s blimmin frustrating - anyway in the night I suddenly had a Mums lightbulb moment and checked the pattern - added up all the colour changes - the pattern is wrong - thanks Mum

gerry64 - 2021-03-25 11:34:00
16912

Wow Gerry,
That's a helpful Mum message.. but she could have done it sooner like.

Nice to know she is still with you and watching over you.

Shopping Argghhhh lol

MrP has done exactly what our Dr said and his limbs are so week he can barely stand long enough to get into the wheelchair.

I am so thankful that winter is coming and the rain will either leave him in the car or at home.

Moan over Im going to unroll the fabric later cos I dreamt that it was double length lol.

16913

Popeye that’s why the bed and the chair with a lift are such a help - Mr P won’t use so much energy getting himself up

gerry64 - 2021-03-25 19:55:00
16914

morning ladies :) thanks Mum! lol gerry. Lovely to know she is still watching <3

Sounds like the equipment you need, popeye, can't come soon enough. It should have been there before MrP was discharged.

Yesterday I cleaned behind the fridge and oven, and cleaned them both. MrK helped me with pulling them out from the wall and sorted out the draw. Today I'll take the filters out of the heat pump for MrK to clean (he uses his air compressor) and do regular housework. Three of my roses need an early prune as they have rust so that can be done today too. I'm hoping to have caught it before it spreads to other roses. A bit early for pruning them but I don't spray and this should keep it under control. I'll burn the prunings to also help stop the spread.

I started the third corner of the food cover late yesterday afternoon so it's almost done. I'll have to think about my next project. Shock, horror! lol, I might even get the knitting needles out.

happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
MrP has a lifting chair but its old and creaky so he doesnt really trust it I think.. And yes still waiting for the bed. Im going to ring Orthopedics again today and see what is happening.
He's trying to get it so he doesnt have to move, which is back firing on him.

We ended up needing a mans help to get him back in the car at the med center yesterday.

Wow you are cruising through your cloth Kiwimade.. Cant wait to see it.

I didn't get to the material but I will this morning, heck MrP might want his hair etc done this morning. I wont mention it and see if he forgets lol

I have been allocated an hour of housework so Im opting for the main bathroom and toilet and the lounge hall, bathroom and MrP's room to be vaccd. So so long as MrP doesnt remember his hair cut, Im having a lazy day lol.

Time for winter woolies for the Grandies again Kiwimade? lol

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2021-03-26 08:27:00
16916

morning ladies :) Good idea to have the bathroom, loo and vacuming to be done during that hour, popeye. When I did home help many moons ago, these were the areas people needed done the most.

Sadly, no winter woolies for the grandies this year. It is cheaper for our daughter to buy them 'off the rack' than for me to knit and then post the jumpers down to them.

This morning I have a pile of rubbish to burn, will do that shortly so I can hang washing out later. And I need to find my secateurs. I've lost them somewhere in the garden and think I have buried them. Am really pi**** off with myself as they are my favourite lol.

No embroidery for me yesterday, a friend popped in and we hadn't seen each other for yonks so had a good catch up instead. I'll find some time today though.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Yeah I thought it was a good idea, its where the bulk of the traffic is too. Especially where MrP sits and eats.

He's been up and had his shower and Ive done his toenails. Hair and Mo next, after Ive checked things on here.

Id really like to change the beds over so I will see what time I have left and how the bones are.

I UMMMM "found" a banana box under MrPs bed full of wool... OOPS lol.. so Ive put that into the sewing room, Im going to have to get another crate I think lol.. One lot of it is some really chunky chenille type wool. I didnt look into the other stuff but one bag is what I usually use for doing squares for mixed blankets...

Ohh Noo re the secateurs Kiwimade, hopefully maybe the furry or Fluffy one might have dug them out for you...

I was going to go out to an annual garage sale today but I figure Id only get stuff I didn't know I needed, so might go next year instead. lol

Have a fab day everyone

popeye333 - 2021-03-27 09:20:00
16918

morning ladies :) I found them! phew! My secateurs were buried under some mulch from when I dug out a dahlia to divide it. So I'm a happy camper.

Looks like we are in for some rain over the next few days. We could use it, we haven't had rain for around three weeks. I'll mow the lawn shortly and hopefully beat the raindrops.

The Fluffy One goes home today, I think she's ready to go. It's been a long stay this time.

I stitched a bit more yesterday afternoon but am running out of the green thread I'm using for the vine and leaves. That means a trip into Spotlight :P

Better get cracking, I don't want the weather to beat me lol... and I take back what I typed about the Fluffy One! Both dogs are going nuts racing around. Not too shabby for two old dogs lol.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

We have had some rain, and it was a warm night.

Ohh so pleased you found them Kiwimade.. We brought an awesome one from a market in Rotorua years ago, and even tho we dont use them much they are handy. You can sort of prime them to cut through thicker branches etc.

I got the beds changed over, phew what a job , but its done. I feel like the princess and the pea, cos my mattress and base must be thicker than MrP's lol. And his bed looks really low now. It will take a few days for his muscles to get used to getting up and down from lower. He sat on his walker and watched and we talked so that was good. Missy thinks it was fun lol.. Ive always liked moving furniture around so although it was rough on the body I really enjoyed it.
Today I will cut his hair and he wont look like Goldielocks lol.

I was thinking about my diamond painting last night. I might get that out later. Ill see if I can get back into it.

Ohh Missy is snuggled up with her Cold Hottie lol crazy girl lol.

Kiwimade is Hamilton your closest spotlight? Its nice having one in Pukekohe now. I must go back and have a good look around without the hoards of people.. but maybe after the school holidays.

Have a fab day everyone

16920

morning ladies :) It's raining! Thank goodness for that, we can really use it. I mowed the lawn yesterday mainly to knock the paspallum back, and only caught two catcher loads. Usually I would have at least six or seven. So it shows just how growth has slowed down over the last few weeks.

The Fluffy One goes home today. She scored an extra day with us lol.
Maybe Missy just likes the feel of the hottie, popeye? She surely can't be cold yet. I have choices when it comes to which Spotlight I go to, popeye. We're kinda in the middle of Hamilton, Tauranga and Rotorua. It takes the same amount of time to get to any of those cities so it's six of one, half dozen of the other. It all depends on what our plans are for the day. Mostly I go to Hamilton as I love the new expressway (doing 110kph legally :P) and can call in to see our son.

I've been crossing things off my 'spring clean' list and am pretty much done. When the weather clears I'll waterblast the outside of the house. Was meant to do that a week or so ago but the waterblaster we borrowed didn't work. The garden is also 'almost there', just waiting on the mulch and a few plants to finish flowering. When the weather clears I'll attack the agapanthus. So I might just get the sewing machine out today. Will be a guilt-free sewing day :D :D

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Missy is starting to think its cold lol. she gets up on my knee at night time and sleeps on me when I go to bed. her body clock might be out lol.. You might be right tho Kiwimade, maybe its the feeling rather than the warmth.

You are spoilt for choice re Spotlight.. Im happy having one closer to home thats for sure.
Mind you my sewing room is like a mini store with lots of different things that can be done.
By the time I did everything I needed to yesterday I was shattered.. then I knocked a bowl full of oily fat I was saving for the birds onto the kitchen floor what a mess.
Loved our Steamed pudding for tea tho.

I did get my diamond painting out. And I will do some today. My jobs are all up to date.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Welcome to the thread k1w1chik and shadowdancer :)

Ohhh I remember those Handmade books! Sorry k1w1chik,
I don't have the pattern you are after. Book Depository may have it?

haha shadowdancer, I can be the same. And not just with wool, pretty embroidery thread, fabric, anything really that catches my eye. I'm like a magpie attracted to shiny things lol.

ugghhh, spilt fat, it goes everywhere and is a horrible mess to clean up. Am glad you got some 'me time' popeye.

The Fluffy One is still with us. My sister says she will be here today to pick her up.

I'm just watching the sun rise, just beautiful! With all the black rain clouds around it seems to glow.

Still beavering away on the food cover. As suspected, I ran out of green thread but could work on other areas so no biggie. I'm going to Hamilton today to buy a waterblaster so will call into Spotlight while there.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
It was good to get some painting done. I hope to get more done today. after a little housework.
Yeah it was a blardy mess that's for sure Kiwimade. Ive done it as far as the body will do , but the lady to do the floors etc tomorrow will make a better job of it.
I dropped an egg cup yesterday. Normally it would really upset me, cos I love china etc. But I just stood where I was and asked MrP if it had smashed, which it had and of course I had bare feet. So a careful step and I was able to clean it up without injury.

Its dark and raining Yay, oddly it rains more at night here than it does through the day.
Water blasters are fun, we have a nilfisk, MrP has never used it lol... its always me. Mind you up here you use it fast cos you pay for the water.

Kiwimade drive carefully on the roads, they will be greasy after the dry and then wet.

Hiya, the rain is patchy here, had some heavier falls over night. The garden needs rain, well except the weeds. We bought some lavender last week so I can use it in soaps. My crochet speed is back, I found it hard while going through my treatment, because it knocked me so much. I have nearly finished a layette for my eldest’s friend, just need to get some ribbon and buttons. I wanted to repeat a set I made about 6 years ago, but couldn’t find the pattern, so had to work it out from the last set, which is actually managed to do, seems my brain is back to normal hehehe.

Kiwichick - your post reminded me about a very expensive mistake I made bidding furiously on a large collection of Bear and Cloth doll magazines - I was so pleased when I won the auction despite paying way over the odds .When I received the magazines all the pullout patterns had been removed - I argued about it but gave up

gerry64 - 2021-03-30 12:40:00
16929

morning ladies :) What a day driving in Hamilton yesterday. What would usually be a 40 - 50 minute drive took an hour and a half and it was bucketing down with thunder and lightening. And to top it off Spotlight didn't have the colour threads I need, no #310, B500 or 3363.

As soon as I was home, MrK pounced on the waterblaster, set it up and waterblasted the ramp. And I thought it was my new toy lol. It certainly makes a difference as those boards they use for decks get quite slippery, even with the grooves. Now for a fine(ish) day to do the house.

tim6, I wish we could pick and choose where the rain falls in the garden lol. Just the plants I love please, not the weeds! And well done on crocheting the layette without the pattern. Very clever!

arrggg gerry64, the whole point of bidding was for the patterns! I would be pretty peeved at that. Hope you gave the seller a red face.

The weather will dictate what I get done today. It will either be waterblasting or sewing. Doesn't bother me either way.

Happy crafting :)

Lol re the water blaster Kiwimade, The one I got for MrP is definitely mine lol.. He put it together I think but he may have put it together, but he's never used it lol Years ago we tidied a house up for a woman and I did the
water blasting on the paths etc so I fell in love with it .

I did 2 hours on my painting yesterday, I'm really enjoying it again. Nearly finished a 10 cm deep strip across the bottom. Its a big picture Missys glamour shot lol.. Im going to need a big frame but it will be worth it.

morning ladies :) Banks are certainly changing, sunflowers. Our Kiwibank is closing and the BNZ works out of a porta-building, down to one staff member and shorter hours.

It's another wet day today but yesterday I waterblasted the house. Am so pleased it's done lol. I was soaked by the time I finished lol. MrK is eyeing it up and admitted it was a good thing to buy. He's always said no to buying one, it would take up too much room in the garden shed, all the usual excuses. This was cheap and small and works well. Now to convince him we need a mulching machine :P instead of me using the lawnmower.

I think I'll have a sewing day today. The weather is perfect for it and the spring clean is done. I've almost finished the food cover, will dot some dragonflies over the middle. I just have to buy more green thread when we go to Rotorua. Hopefully that Spotlight will have it.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
I will ring eventually Sunflowers, Im a bit over getting no response from the Ortho people not replying.
He's doing ok at the mo, but still in alot of pain from the bruising cos alot of its deep and all mainly on one side. As I said to him this morning, the first fall was bad enough to fall on the same side 8 more times has made it alot worse.
Off to the drs this morning to do his BP standing up and down. Then he has to decide if he will just come for a ride but stay in the car while I get the groceries, or come home and watch tv while I go.

I got another couple of hours done on the painting yesterday, didnt quite finish the strip I was doing tho. Sunflowers I hope you enjoy the painting. be careful cos it can be addictive lol.
A sewing day sounds good Kiwimade.

Right I better do a quick flick over FB and then get ready.

morning ladies :) Happy Easter :) Time has flown by, can't believe it's Easter already.

We had some thunder late yesterday afternoon but the middle of the day was hot enough to get the washing dry. And warm enough to bring the flies out. Little bug****! So persistent.

Today I'll get housework done and I still have a couple of piles of garden rubbish to bin now the bin is empty. The weeds are back on the unmulched part of the garden so I'll get that done sometime over the weekend so it's ready for the mulch that is arriving next week (I hope).

Yesterday I matched the thread with another brand and finished the food cover. It's not a perfect match but far enough away from the rest of the embroidery that hopefully won't be noticed. I decided not to dot the dragonflies over the middle but put them between the corners along the edge instead. Now all I need is to have the edges overlocked and it's good to go. I'll take a pic when the light is better.

Happy crafting :)

Saturday I have a Garden /Section Cleanup so I can have a vegie garden with fresh soil. Friends are coming over with with a their truck. Alot of us are so lucky to have baches, walking trails around that we just enjoy our own back door. There is so much that goes on down here at Easter.
Look forward to seeing your food cloth. They are so handle to have.

Popeye hope you both enjoy this long weekend to enjoy each other company. Relax and enjoy. I have had a look at my picture and saw how small the pieces are. I'm so glad I have not got a cat or never be able to do it. Our last cat would lay in my lap or beside me looking at what I was doing.
Time for me to move and enjoy this sunny day.
Hope everyone has agreat weekend and enjoy family and friends.

Morning everyone, Happy Easter to you all

Yesterday was a crazy day.. We saw the Dr and MrP has agreed to a small increase in his insulin.. And we got some codeine for his pain... We went over to do the shopping and everywhere was busy..
Came home and decided to go back and get MrP some clothes that fit. He was walking up the hall and his pants fell to the ground and his shirts are like baggy sacks.
Couldnt beleive the amount of traffic on the roads, but alot of people will be going up to the Manukau Heads to their baches etc,, and the school up there always has a fund raising Auction from anything like farm machinery, house stuff and Art work. We dont go cos Im not fond of driving the roads and when its busy its even worse.

So we will be having a quiet time at home, although we might go out to the beach for a little while since its fine.

It got really dark about 4-30ish and horrendous thunder but it didnt rain.

So I didnt get any painting done yesterday.. But I will today once Ive loaded the dishwasher.

Glad you found a close match Kiwimade and no one else will be able to tell the difference

I will nip up to Mitre 10 tomorrow and get some seedlings and get them in.

It was cool enough last night that we had a little condensation in the bedrooms.. Although I still had the fan on my face lol.

Have a fab day everyone.

Not the best photos but you get the gist of it. I'm very happy with the end result. While I think about what to stitch next, I've dragged my knitting needles out from the deep, dark, depths of my craft cupboard and started knitting one of those memory blankets. What appeals is I don't have to sew loads of squares together as they are knitted together as you go. I've doubled the size of the squares so it's not quite so fiddly too. My goal is to destash in all corners of my crafts. So far I have used most of my fabric, and now it's my wool/yarn's turn. I don't have much but I hate it sitting there knowing it can be turned into something practical.

This morning I'll mow the lawn again, anyone would think it was spring after all that rain. And the outside windows need 'doing' after the waterblasting stuck cobwebs to them. Thank goodness for my window vac and long poles.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Yes its a stunner here today too. Nice clear mornings but not cold yet.

Love your throw Kiwimade, very dainty and pretty.

I too am on a mission.. I have misplaced the extra diamonds for Missys picture.. I had a look as far as I could yesterday but it was getting late and only one light works in there. Its annoying me cos I generally dont Misplace things. As MrP says it will be in the last place that I look..

I have to pop up the road first tho, I want to get some seedlings , a bag of potting mix and some cup a soups that I forgot the other day. MrP enjoys those as much as home made soup the crazy man lol. Mind you the cream of chicken is the only soup I eat and I have to load it with salt before I eat it too. lol.
Not a breathe of wind out there and I just heard the Tui call, he must be around the back of the house.

Im feeling a bit the same Kiwimade about the Stash of stuff.. I have one pantry of wool that I very seldom go into. One of them was back when MrPs nieces were here and that was before Covid hit so over a year.

Right I had better get myself sorted.. MrP has just had his shower so he is further along than I am lol.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Daylight saving ending has mucked up the Furry One lol. He woke me by sitting on my head to 'tell' me it was his breakfast time. He's not one to miss a meal, that's for sure.

I didn't quite get the lawn finished yesterday so will do that this morning and as usual, there is a pile of ironing to do. MrK is feeding some dogs over the long weekend while our friends are away so he'll be off shortly to do that. Then we'll think about what we are going to do with the rest of the day. Am hoping we can pop over the hill to the beach.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

You have been busy Mica3. I went through some of my fabric stash trying to find my missing diamonds and well I NEED to do some sewing lol.

Kiwimade, I had the same early wake up call, Missy was sitting on me tapping my face lol.. reminds me she needs a claw trim lol

I have still not found the diamonds so Im going to contact a lady on here that sells them.. But in the meantime Ill carry on without them.

This morning I have already put dinner in the crockpot, and Im going out to do some gardening when done on here.. I have to wear my strapping tho cos Ive done something behind the tummy scar, its like its got a gap.
Could have been done when I got the potting mix in and out of the car, or when I helped MrP up off the lounge floor he had a tumble to the floor..

So I will be painting later to relax..

I wish we had gone out to the coast last night it would have been a stunning sunset.. So Maybe tonight if it stays clear.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) A bit chilly this morning but we are in for a beautiful day.

We decided to wait before we go to the beach, too many people and cars on the road.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the garden's autum cleanup. The pruning is done and one more garden to weed and then I can concentrate on getting rid of the agapanthus out on the road. Fingers crossed the mulch I've ordered arrives this week. I'll burn some garden rubbish this morning before washing is hung out.

I'm picking away at this memory blanket and have decided to make it in large blocks of nine squares. It means sewing but I won't have a huge blanket on my lap as I knit. We don't need any more blankets but I'm sure I can find a home for it and it uses wool/yarn that really has no other use for me.

Time to get moving and burn that rubbish.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Dull cloudy day today, we might have rain.

Yesterday changed a wee bit. I got the plants planted and the "garden' area all cleaned and tidy. And its looking good out there.
Came in and I said to MrP we would go for a walk up around the corner (all uphill) and get a few feijoas at a free stand up there and then we would go out for the sunset. None of that happened, MrP had a sleep and then I was cooking tea.. But also by then it had clouded over, so we will have to reschedule.
I didn't paint cos I thought if he woke up he would want to go for the walk.

Today we will be doing a couple of jars of pickled onions, I got a marked down bag of onions on shopping day. Ill do the big dishes while Im there and then sort the rubbish out. One furry ones litter and one in Pull ups certainly keeps the bag full.

So hopefully some painting this afternoon

I got a knitted vest my mother had made MrP years ago, it is done in acrylic but it has a green contrast to the grey, stripes around the neck, armholes and ribbing.. but its been done in wool.. And there are several holes in the green.. Moth holes Im assuming cos they dont like acrylic lol... I dont know that I have anything green in wool, so will have to figure out what to do. He's skinny enough to finally wear it. I could possibly undo the neck and armholes and replace the stripe, but the band or ribbing on the bottom poses the problem cos Ive never undone ribbing and knitted it well going in the opposite direction. Will have to think about what to do.. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

morning ladies :) Popeye, if the holes aren't too big, maybe just darn them? He would more than likely be wearing a shirt over the singlet so they won't be seen if the green doesn't match, and even if they are seen, who cares.

The bin man has been and gone so I can get rid of the garden waste I can't compost or burn. It's the last big pile from the autum clean up so I'm a happy camper. Now I can start preparing along the roadside for a row of hydrangeas. Getting rid of the agapanthus will take me a while though.

The Fluffy One is coming back to stay this week for another week while my sister is away again. MrK isn't looking forward to it as she is a 'yapper' and will yap at anything.

I have one thing left on my to-do list with the 'spring' clean and that's clean the carpet so I'll organise the rug doctor at some stage. Might just leave that until the Fluffy One has gone home. One less dog on wet/damp carpet.

I've knitted 7 squares on the memory blanket so far, another two and that 'block' is done. It will be lighter on my wrists knitting it this way.

Happy crafting :)

Finished baby blanket .ast night and another on the needles. Cut out and stitched up soft toy a Melly&Me pattern White sheep black sheep hope to get the good fibrefil this weekend the Spotlibht stuff clumps so it is hard to get a nice uniform fill
We also have DD dog staying for a few days he is sweet but does switch his listening ears off so he doesn't get to run free with our 2 when we are out walking along the riverbank.
Popeye there are you tube videos that demonstrate unpicking ribbing from cast on edge and re knitting I think Marie from Skeinz also demo'd it in one of her you tubes possibly late last year
Had my coffee so now coral the k9s into to their car harnesses and off for a walk. It is a 30min drive so like to wait for commuter rush is over.

Morning everyone
Its a sleeveless vest Kiwimade to wear over a skivvy etc..

Im might do a combo of two things.. try and darn it with normal sewing cotton and then run a chain stitch chain through it, if it needs it. If it doesnt look too flash he can wear it at home anyway.

He had another fall last night, just as I dished up tea. Had to get help in to pick him up. And he nearly had another this morning.. Im afraid Im loosing a little sympathy for him, he wont do anything to help himself.. I expect him to end up in hospital if he goes down again, and He has been talking about a rest home, but I think he is waiting for me to say to try it, so he can blame me for putting him there. Time will tell.

I used to love doing blankets but dont have the mojo to do it at the moment so I cant wait to see your blankets ladies..

Nurse will be here for his legs today, so that will cheer him up no end. he likes attention lol..

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning - beautiful day here in the Bay
Just a thought -Popeye will Mr P use a walker inside the house - reduced the falls my old boy had when he started using the walker all the time - found it much easier to put the walker in front of his chair so he used it to stand up and steady himself before moving - he was stubborn wouldn’t use it at first
I am still battling with my graphghan- once I get past the next 20 rows it gets back into easier rows only 8 balls per row - at the moment the row I am working on has 28 balls to tangle themselves up

Thanks Gerry64.. he has all the Mod cons as I call them.
He has two different walkers, and we have a shower stool we got when Mum was with us. The shower handle, a wheelchair, the Rail thing for the bed.

I think they need to put him back into rehab cos they will make him work to gain some strength, We are still waiting to hear back from the rehab OT people, they said it would be 1-2 weeks, this week is the second. So hopefully it wont be long.

It will be interesting cos he doesn't like the woman that's coming so I haven't told him, just saying I dont know who it will be.

Might get some painting done later this afternoon, once I have taken the door catches that stick out too far and MrP scratches his arms on... one more thing to make things better for him.

morning ladies :) A walker plonked in front of MrP's chair, popeye, is a really good idea. Dad loved his walker as it gave him a seat when he needed to rest while walking. And he also had a really high stool he used in the kitchen so he could sit while helping me with dishes. MrK loved that lol and was gutted when I returned it to the hospital.

Today I have a cubic square meter of mulch to move. Our friend dropped it off yesterday afternoon for us for a box of beer. So almost, almost, there with the garden. I suspect I may need another cubic square meter, but will see how far this goes first. I love that half of the garden is mulched with mulch from our garden too.

I started on the agapanthus and ommggg I had forgotten how sticky and horrible they are. My garden gloves, secateurs and the old steak knife I was using were slimey so all needed washing. And I still have some massive clumps to go.

I didn't get much knitting done yesterday as I was pretty tired by the end of the day. Hopefully, I can knit sometime this afternoon.

Happy crafting :)
