| morning ladies :) There is a real pea souper of fog out there this morning. I hope it clears soon as my sister is flying to Wellington. Which means we have the Fluffy One staying. We are just pleased the Furry One caught the possum when she wasn't here as it could have caused all sorts of problems. This morning, fog or no fog, I'm going to make a start cutting the hydrangea back even further and start digging it out. It has snuck under the fence and is doing much better roadside so I might as well use the space on our side of the fence for something else. More than likely another climbing rose. I like the idea of big climbing roses growing over the fence. No stitching for me yesterday, I was just too busy and it was too hot. My sister arrived just as I was pulling in from being in town with her granddaughter so my afternoon was 'gone' too. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-20 07:05:00 |
| Good Morining everyone. Fine, suuny weekend so far. Yes, they are pouring in for Art Deco w/end. Will go down early evening as a group of us have booked a table for dinner. We'll make our way down to the sound shell as the bands still going to play this evening. Not sure about the fireworks. Had a very long night on here as it went down and had it finally up and running at 2.30am,so I will have a nap later today.Computers!!! Been up and sprayed the driveway. A job that I could easy pass on to someone else. Sprayed it with hot water and vinegar, hope it will kill the weeds. Good to hear Mr P went out with you yesterday. Yes, it's one day at a time. Hear you have planned a few things to do togther,. over the next few months. Will it time for me to move,as the washing waiting for me to hang it out and mop the floors. sunflowers28 - 2021-02-20 09:18:00 |

| So much for the hydrangea lol. I started weeding, which turned into pruning the bay tree, tying up the clematis and deciding to finally dig out my old rose Bantry Bay :'( She was rotting at the base and I've been nursing her through summer but it just wasn't viable to keep her. So Gertrude Jeckyl will be moved into her spot, a new rose I'm ordering, Buff Beauty, will go where Gertrude was. And the hydrangea is still going and we've decided to have another go at growing a native clematis there. So that will give me all winter to prepare the ground with lots of compost and mulch, ready for spring and the clematis. MrK just rolls his eyes and said at least the clematis isn't another rose lol. He knows I shuffle things around, especially with the 'new' part of the garden as things grow and take over. So that's two roses gone from the garden this summer, and both are from the original garden. It's getting too hot to be outside now and I won't feel guilty about doing some stitching at all! kiwimade64 - 2021-02-20 11:23:00 |

| morning ladies :) Nothing wrong with a change around, popeye! We still have some spuds in buckets too. Absolutely delicious! I tried to buy leek plants Friday, but they won't be in until next week. I'll have another attempt to dig out the hydrangea this morning, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a clematis there. Yesterday I stitched the first bullrush flower and am very happy with it. The French knots gives it a nice texture. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-21 07:27:00 |

| morning ladies :) A bit of fog out there but it's clearing quickly for another hot day. Yesterday was very productive, the hydrangea is out finally and I finished my embroidery of the bull rushes. Am very happy with both lol. I'll post a pic of the embroidery later today. The back fence looks bare with the hydrangea out but I can see in my minds eye what it will look like with the clematis. We need the bees in the garden popeye, so the more I can encourage them the better. They just love the salvias and in the autum I have a large succulent (sorry, don't know it's name) that flowers and is covered in bees. This morning I'm going to dig up the violas as it's hard to weed. I'll replant some to start them off again. Time to move, coffee is finished, the neighbour's dog is visiting and wants cuddles and the washing machine needs turning on. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-22 07:17:00 |
| Morning everyone I wondered when TM would run through and delete messages.v .lol Yeah I know we need the bees lol, I just don't like them lol I just cant seem to keep working on my rafts, I have the red cardy, and a small start on the blue one and a diamond painting all on the go and no real desire to do anything.. Could possibly be cos Im always running after MrP. Its starting to feel like when Mum was like this. So I am trying to rest when I can. Cant wait to see the bull rushes Kiwimade, I dont remember the last time I saw any of them. Have an awesome day everyone popeye333 - 2021-02-22 08:40:00 |
| ooppps, TM staff have been busy. Finally come back inside for a cuppa, it's getting hot out there now. But at least I have tamed the violas and given the climbing hydrangea another prune. I can't do any more anyway as the bins are full and the concrete where I leave prunings until I can deal with them is full too. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1493434101.jpg ta da! lol. It needs washing as there are still pencil marks showing and I need to lace it to a board ready for framing. Overall, I'm happy with this :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-22 10:18:00 |
| Beautiful Kiwimade your embroidery skills are superb just lovely thanks for sharing. mica3 - 2021-02-22 10:33:00 |
| I love it Kiwimade... I can imagine it as a big picture too. popeye333 - 2021-02-22 12:08:00 |
| morning ladies :) Thank you for the kind comments :) Sometimes mica, we need to put things aside for a bit just to clear our head. I find if I go back to something I have a clearer picture of what I want. It's going to rain today :D :D :D The garden and lawn will be happy. Another of my sisters-in-law is coming today so no chance of me starting my next embroidery piece of the hat. Hmmmm, I wonder if I might be able to sneak in putting the design onto the fabric now while MrK has his breakfast lol. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-23 07:18:00 |
| Morning everyone, Its overcast here too.. Fingers crossed, Ive always loved rain, and loved to run in it when I was a kid lol I agree Kiwimade, sometimes we need a break to get re-inspired. No craft as such yesterday as I had a very down day, but I guess you could call this craft. He thought about painting them and I said no it will take years for them to rot and painted they may be slippery. Ive been looking for a big tupperware lids on here for a few years, and finally last night I found what I wanted... They're not made in the pearl white anymore so Thank goodness for Trade Me lol... Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-02-23 09:34:00 |
| morning ladies :) Yesterday we settled one of MrK's sister's into hospital for her heart surgery this morning, they should be prepping her now as she is first on the list. Was a pretty full on day as she can be mentally tiring but we got there in the end. That was a good idea about the board, popeye. It should give MrP's feet more support which in turn will support his body. Today I'm going to give one of my climbing roses, Albertine, a trim. It's climbing like crazy through a tree and the tree is going to be pruned in a week or so. I would rather cut back the rose than have the chap do it. I'm also going to 'slice and dice' the prunnings I already have into the wheelie bin. If I cut it up small, it should all fit. I can't compost it thanks to convolvulus. The two roses I moved are doing fine, one even has a bit more new growth. This afternoon or when it rains, whatever comes first, I'll put the pattern of the hat onto my fabric and start stitching. I need to buy a board to lace the bullrushes and I think I may have a frame somewhere that would suit it. Then it can be hung in the bedroom. We finally got the mirror hung yesterday morning too :D :D MrK had made the cleat the day before and it just all needed screwing on the wall and mirror. So the bedroom is also slowly coming together. A couple more pictures for the walls and a bedside lamp is all the room needs. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-24 07:05:00 |
| Morning everyone We havent had any rain this week yet. It warmed up a bit yesterday tho. I had fun with the drop saw, MrP made me figure out hos to do the angles on the corners. Then I sat between the two doors with the wind blowing the sanding's out the front door. Floors today they are a disgrace.. And avoiding the grumpy one who blames everyone else for his useless body.. Silly man lol Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-02-24 09:46:00 |
| Hi ladies, it’s been a while since I posted. I have been quite sick, so my crochet had taken a backseat, but I’m back to it now that I am improving. I have also been looking at other crafts, I have tried soap making and diamond art, the soap making was a year ago, but have a kit to use, along with candle making and bath bomb making, as my partner was trying to inspire me. I’ve done a bit of building with lego too, good for motor skills as I have lost muscle tone. tim6 - 2021-02-24 18:40:00 |
| morning ladies :) Hey there tim6, welcome back to the thread :) Sorry to hear you have been sick but good to hear you are on the mend. Soap making is something I'd like to have a go at too. What a lovely person your partner is trying to inspire you again. And Lego is fun lol, it's not just kids who play with it :P I started (re-started more like lol) the hat yesterday and I think it was worth the effort of a re-do. And I think this time round I will use the silk/rayon thread for the flower to add some gloss along with the center beads. This will be the last of my 'cheap' embroidery fabric and I must admit I'll be glad to see the back of it. The old adage you get what you pay for is so true. My sister-in-law came through her heart surgery fine and we've had three phone calls over the day from Waikato Hospital telling us of her status. The staff at Waikato are amazing, but we knew that from MrK's hospital stays. One of my rose cuttings has new growth on it. Couldn't believe it when I saw these wee buds forming on the cane for new leaves. It's only been in the potting mix a week but I did give them a looooong soak in Seasol. Coffee's finished and I need to put the washing on. I think the neighbour's dog is also here again. Her morning visits are becoming a nice habit. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-25 07:23:00 |
| Morning everyone. Welcome back Tim6, sorry to hear you have been unwell.. And your partner is a keeper. Pleased to hear your Sister in law has come through ok Kiwimade.. Waikato has one of the best heart surgeons in the world. Better than Auckland I was told. Pleased they keep you up to date with the info too. Yesterday MrP once again complained about the Tiny buttons on his shirts. I have to agree with him, I don't know why they put such small buttons on men's shirts. So he asked if I would put velcro on them.. ( which in my opinion might work but I can't see them looking good) lol.. I happened to be on Alliexpress and found some Baby soft Velcro so I have ordered some, but in the meantime it was Sooo good to say When Spotlight opens next month we will look in there too lol. And now he is in the wheelchair I will be able to wander around and have a look at lots of goodies lol... Online shopping is fine but you cant squish wool or see true colours. Lol at you having the neighbours dog Kiwimade, we have several cats wander through the yard. There is a pale Ginger who often sits on the fence out the back, I told him a couple of days ago he is getting far to old to be getting up on the high fence and the Rat bag had the cheek to answer me back like Missy does lol.. Youngsters these days Pffftttt lol Oh and I must say your daughters stitching is looking wonderful . She has her Mums talent for sure. Right bloods and shopping today.. better get cracking Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-02-25 08:26:00 |
| morning ladies :) Yes, popeye, our daughter's cross stitch is coming along nicely. She started it while staying here just after Christmas so still has a long way to go :) I agree about men's buttons, MrK has problems with them too so just leaves them done up lol. It's a pain when ironing them but I just undo and redo them. Housework for me today and MrK's other sisters are calling in to pick up the parking ticket for the hospital. I bought one for a week and it's being passed around the family. Might as well get the most out of it. No stitching for me yesterday, by the time we got home from the hospital we were both pretty tired. It's better I leave it as it saves a lot of unpicking. Hopefully I can do more today. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-26 07:28:00 |
| Morning Just everyone Someone was in a fine mood this morning so its been a bit rough.. But I have done all my housework and tea is sorted already lol. I haven't knitted for a wee while cos I also don't want to make mistakes, Im not fond of undoing knitting. or sewing for that matter. lol I wonder if our Hospital does a weekly parking ticket. Parking up here is $4-50 an hour. Its ridiculous. I spoilt myself yesterday. Got a Nordic Gnome that was down from $20 to $9 , his cheeky face appealed to me lol.. Ive called him Shadrach , from Shadrach Dingle on Emmerdale years ago. He and my diary will hear far more than anyone else will from me and my moans lol. The only mens clothing I know with big buttons is Pyjamas, Ive often wondered why the do that lol Right lunch is calling. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-02-26 11:49:00 |
| morning ladies :) I had a tossy-turny night last night and not helped by the Furry One thinking there was something outside that shouldn't have been. So I think it's going to be a long day. MrK's sister is not behaving in hospital and refusing to do her breathing exercises and walking. We knew there would be the woe-is-me attitude. It's frustrating as heck as there are so many people on the waiting list for heart ops who would truly appreciate it. MrK is going to have a word with her. I finished stitching the word 'Vogue' yesterday, so far so good. I ended up free-handing the letters too. Later today I'll stitch her face and shoulders and am hoping I can start on the hat. happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-27 07:34:00 |
| Morning everyone It hit the fan yesterday and MrP ended up in hospital. I hope they sort him out good and proper and he needs to be in a home. I simply cant look after him well enough now. Couldnt get through to him last night so will try shortly. Ohh Kiwimade Im glad MrK will have a word with his sister. She needs to do what they tell her or she will make herself terribly unwell and possibly not make it. And yes the surgery could have gone to someone who needs it. Its no walk in the park but once your moving at least your lungs arent filling with fluid. Housework for me today, I did the kitchen yesterday, so while MrP is away Im going to attack his room, toilet and the Bathroom. I was thinking last night that the two pieces of fabric I got for skirts would look really cool as cushions, and I have some inners. One is white with black details and the other black with white details.. I know you crafty ones will understand what I mean lol. I better see if I can get hold of MrP now, I couldnt get through last night Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2021-02-27 09:58:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another day, another lockdown level change. As soon as we saw 'breaking news' on the telly, we knew we were going into Levels 2 & 3. Popeye, MrP is in the right place as you know. Now would be the time to start speaking up about not being able to look after him at home and he needs to go into care. They can assess him in hospital and find a bed for him in a resthome. With Level 3 this could be tricky as resthomes go into Level 4 but they can start making enquiries. As for the weekly parking ticket, the receptionist on MrK's sister's ward gave us a slip of paper to take to the parking people. I paid the $7 and have parking for a week. I think it is for those on the wards so ask about it while MrP is in hospital. I stitched the face on my embroidery yesterday afternoon when we got home from the hospital. Reallllly needed the downtime after that visit so stitching was the perfect thing to do. I can start on the hat today sometime. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-02-28 07:20:00 |

| Popeye sounds like Mr P is where he needs to be. mica3 - 2021-02-28 11:39:00 |
| Geeze trade me cant you leave things alone??? I get alot of support on here, and still chat about our crafts too.. Hes cooked his goose he got shitty and hung up so I rang the nurse... and the dr is going to ring me. I hope this stays up long enough for people to see. Ohh Mica it would be soo hard having to part with things that your heart and soul have gone into. And yes I'm into repurposing things too , I had a fave shirt of MrPs that I put away when he got too big for it. I was going to make a cushion out of it, Now he fits it again lol.. he wore it to hospital lol popeye333 - 2021-02-28 12:45:00 |
| EveningLadies, Popeye I had to put Mr M into care so I could have a sometime to catchup on everything. That did not mean I went away. The two weeks I used the first catching up on jobs inside and out ,also went out for a coffee and walks .Second week I did what I wanted or to to do.Prepared meals, apart from that I just enjoyed my week. Yes, he played up at one stage and was send back to the hospital. Resthome closed a month later and stayed closed for a couple of years. All depends on what stage the resthome is. Check out the place. Just take one day at a time Popeye, take days out on your own or with friends. You do what you want to do. It does take time. Wish you well. We here if you need to chat. Kiwimade, yes we are on lockdown again. Glad we got out of Auckland years ago. We got parking tickets from the ward office when both my brother and sister in law wherein at the sametime.Good hear you picked up your stitching when you returned home. If you like me I was glad to stitch or weave on my loam when I got back from visiting Edited by sunflowers28 at 8:10 pm, Sun 28 Feb sunflowers28 - 2021-02-28 20:02:00 |
| morning ladies :) It's hard to part with quilts and blankets if they haven't been made with someone specific in mind, I think, mica. But you will get there and find the perfect home for them. Sunflowers is right, popeye. Take the time you need, MrP will be OK in hospital. And talk a lot to the doctors and nurses about your concerns. Make sure they understand how it is at home and you don't want him back. It takes time to find yourself again. Yesterday I made a start on the hat. It looks a lot better than my first attempt and I think I have blended the colours better than before as well. I took a pic of my first attempt so when I have finished this one I will show you both versions. Today I'm going to move my big climbing rose as it is meant to rain today and tomorrow. Perfect for transplanted plants and saves me having to keep watering it. I've ordered Buff Beauty to go in this rose's spot and that should arrive in June. So no doubt I will be picking out rose thorns later lol. The rose I transplanted on top of the Furry One's possum has perked up quite a bit. Every time I walk passed it I smile lol. The nieghbour's dog arrived at 6.30am lol and our boy is outside playing with her. Coffee is finished and washing machine needs to go on. Time to move this butt. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-03-01 07:24:00 |
| Morning everyone And Thank you, I managed to speak to a dr late yesterday and Ive told him what its like. He said there will have to be a family meeting, I said well that's easy its just me lol. Some housework here today too. We cant be very far away from an inspection. At least with covid it wont happen this week. Lol Kiwimade I'd be smiling every time I walked past the Possum Rose too . I need to decide if Ill do zips which I dont have or perhaps do flaps or buttons, or maybe velcro on the backs of the cushions... Velcro would be super easy ... I have some firmer stuff that would work, so I might get to those later... yeah Velcro would be better than buttons, cos button holes tend to stretch and look horrible . Its dark here but Still no rain. Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2021-03-01 09:00:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies, Overcast and very still here this morning.Had a very quite weekend. Did some weeding,my herds that I replaced are doing well. Flower and Veggie gardens are looking sad whats left. Have to wait another month or so before I can work on them. Only good thing is it will be cooler to work in the gardens. No, I didnot go to Art Deco. So pleased everyone turnup and had a great time. Weather was sunny and warm. You have been busy visiting your SIL,working away on your gardens and stitching.Kiwimade. Hope your SIL is on the mend.Parking at that hospital is a pain. We use to park across the road in the lake area. Hope you are ok Popeye it will be sometime before you know whats what. 16832 | He's in a grumpy again...lol.... I'm sure he was born grumpy. He hung up on me again.. lol. He should know by now that that means he waits a day to hear from me IT HAS FINALLY RAINED....lol... for about 2 minutes.. YAYAYAY Ive cleaned the bathroom and his toilet just have the floors to do and I might do them tonight since he wont be walking on wet floors. Dishes done, washing done. Miss Efficient today.. Actually Sunflowers going to the beach is a good idea.. Ive never been there for a sunset.. No good today since its cloudy but I will do it when its a fine day again. Weaving is something I would love to try.. Soo many things you can do on them. Playtime now popeye333 - 2021-03-01 12:41:00 |
| morning ladies:) It's getting darker now in the morning, mind you those rain clouds look pretty bleak. Buy some fish and chips, popeye, and eat them watching the sun set at the beach :D We love doing that :) The garden people are coming this morning to prune the trees for us, I feel a lot happier knowing they are doing it and not MrK. And by chance, it's a guy who we knew years ago but lost touch with. I'm about halfway through stitching the hat. It takes time to do and can be hard on my fingers. Especially for the finger I jammed in between the secateur handles yesterday. Heaven knows how I did that but it would have to be my left hand. The rose I moved was tougher than I thought it would be. This year I would like to learn 'goldwork' but I'll have to find where to buy the metallic 'threads'. I think you can buy them here on TM but I like to compare prices. Time to move and get organised. Grocery shopping for us today so I'll be leaving MrK in charge of the tree prunning *gulp, heaven help the trees* lol. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-03-02 06:43:00 |
| Morning everyone Yes Kiwimade that's what I intend to do, re the fish and chips. Im just not sure who is open this time during level 3. We have had more rain Yay lol. Leave explicate instructions re the trees Kiwimade.. Still like grass or hair , they grow back lol. Something else I would love to learn is pottery.. There is a lady up the Manukau Heads that runs a class occasionally, but that's 35 ? mins away and a very windy road. Ive not noticed if anyone does it in Pukekohe. It might help me get over my hand washing, or make it worse lol... I cant stand sticky or dirty hands but dont like gloves either lol. Have to pop up the road this morning, and then Ill ring and see whats happening with MrP. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-03-02 09:13:00 |
| morning ladies :) It's raining hard thank goodness. But I have a big pile of mulch to move from yesterday's tree pruning. When the rain eases up I'll get out there and start shoveling. Thank goodness I have weeded and left the lawn mowing. The trees look great so there is a lot more light in the house and the gutters cleaned for winter. I think we'll look at pricing those gutter guards. The neighbour's dog stuck her head through the doggy door around 6.00am to tell us she was here. She was soaking wet of course lol and hungry but we don't feed her. MrK has just sent her home now so the Furry One can have his breakkie. If the day is going to be like this I think I'll be getting a fair bit of my embroidery done. Didn't do any yesterday as I also called in to see my sister-in-law in hospital and by the time I got home, the gardener guy was just about finished. By the time I had put the groceries away and had a late lunch, phoned MrK's other sisters to let them know what was happening, I couldn't be bothered picking it up. It's getting lighter outside now and it looks like the rain is easing a bit. I don't mind working in the rain but if I don't have to, then even better. happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-03-03 07:12:00 |
| Morning everyone Ohh we have had some awesome heavy rain.. Normally I don't hear rain but it was fair pelting down. Everything looks lush out there. Got a text from our lawn people they are hoping to be here later, so I said they might need a life guard lol Last night I saw an advert on FB for Flax Weaving at Wananga's ( SP), its something Ive Always wanted to do. This was level 4 tho, but once Im more sorted out Im going to see if they still run classes at our local Marae.. I think it will also do my head good too.. amongst other things Ive always wanted to do and will now be able to. I gave away the huge watermelon and mandarins that I got for MrP last week. Watermelon repeats on me and the mandarins are tarty little ones so I gave them to a lady in our street with very polite kids. I hate food waste. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-03-03 09:36:00 |
| Hi Everyone, Could do with some of your rain kiwimade today,it was 27c at around lunchtime to day.It was a birthday share lunch. No idea what I will have for tea tonight. Can you send some rain down here petty please. Have two loads of topsoil to go on my gardens once the ground is cleared away and a load of soil will go as well. I've take out the plants etc and they are in tubs and pots under the Silk Tree. How is your SIL,hope she recovering well.? Edited by sunflowers28 at 5:49 pm, Wed 3 Mar sunflowers28 - 2021-03-03 17:45:00 |
| Yes been warm up here today too Sunflowers, Ive just brought the fan from MrPs room and have it in front of his chair and Im much cooler. They have sanctioned him, he is now in the mental health ward, feeling sorry for himself but also blaming everyone else. They are really keeping me up to date and reminding me that none of it is my fault. Oddly when I went on FB after posting on here this morning there was a post about pottery classes after Lockdown and our house lady wants to go and one of her friends so it would be good if we can all go together. I did one lesson in flax weaving at Primary school and have wanted to do more since then.. Soo Ive wanted to do that for a very long time. I said to my sister in law that I would be downsizing so straight away she wants some of my wool. Im not downsizing that lol. Ill have to decide if I still want to grow veges again. Since there arent many that I eat but that can wait anyway. popeye333 - 2021-03-03 18:21:00 |
| morning ladies :) hahaha sunflowers, I think the rain is heading your way soon. It's taking a while isn't it, to get your garden back after the floods. We had some thunder last evening and rain and more is due today. I moved all the mulch onto the garden yesterday morning as I wanted to make the most of the wet ground. It was already starting to 'cook' and was steaming so the grass underneath would have been killed if I hadn't done it them too. So half of the garden is mulched and looks great, the other half, lol, not so flash. And yes, I know the mulch was 'green' but I didn't want to handle it twice so it went straight onto the garden. I am pleased MrP was sanctioned yesterday, popeye. Now you can start planning what you would like to do. I think you will see now just how much you have done for him at your own health's expense and how much you have given up because MrP 'didn't like that' or 'didn't want to go there'. I wonder how many other people are in your position and just don't speak up. Yesterday I embroidered a bit more and have almost finished the hat. Once that is done I'll start on the flower. So far, so good, I think. It shouldn't take long to finish. happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-03-04 07:16:00 |
| Morning everyone We have had alot of rain, it was soo needed.. I haven't had to give the rhubarb and mandarin tree a drink for a couple of days. I know one thing I have noticed. I didn't realize how much rubbish there is on TV lol... Ive never liked all the western stuff MrP watches, but its pretty much the best choice lol, and its not a good financial decision to keep sky just for the Crime Channels so I can see my fave which is Homicide Hunter. Cant wait to see your Hat Kiwimade... you are so very talented. I have alot more time these days, but I also want to start downsizing so the knitting may stay in the background for a while Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-03-04 07:59:00 |
| Good Morning everyone from sunny Napier. Have finally received my pay out. Still need the lineing in the shed to be replaced and floors cleaned.Told it be a couple weeks away, before they come. I just want my house cleaned out. Fabric, wool and other bits I have inside at present. What a great weight off your shoulders Popeye. Time you start doing something for yourself. Hope you can start flax weaving with a class near you. It will take sometime to get use to been on your own now. Enjoy!! sunflowers28 - 2021-03-04 08:40:00 |
| morning ladies :) yep, there is a lot of rubbish on the TV, thank goodness for Netflix, Prime Amazon and Neon lol. And with no adverts too. You'll soon figure out what you want/need, popeye. I would do a bit more than a little dance sunflowers lol. You will be so pleased to have your garden sorted. I know I would be devastated if flooding ruined ours. The garden is my happy place and I sort a lot of the world's problems out there lol. Every morning the Furry One and I wander round it - well he runs flat out lol. And I agree with you about popeye keeping a few plants. It's not just a saving vegie wise it's your sanity too. Autum is the busiest time for me, it takes about six weeks to have everything cut back for winter. I prune as plants die off so it's also a waiting game. I started stitching the flower on the hat yesterday and am happy with progress. I may need to make the petals a bit deeper, it's a stylised version so easy to do. Time to move, the lawn needs mowing and I can finally get out there to do it. Yesterday's thunderstorms were awesome but a no-go for the lawn. happy crafting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 7:33 am, Fri 5 Mar kiwimade64 - 2021-03-05 07:30:00 |
| Morning everyone We had a real pea souper this morning at 7am. I got up to put a parcel at the door to be picked up. Sometimes the courier is early. People seem to be noticing my Enid Blyton's on here now. Yesterday was a rough one, a big teary and still angry call at lunchtime. I did manage to calm him down some and he promised to have a sleep. Which he did cos he was much nicer to talk to last night. They have given him a radio to listen too and found his a station that plays country music. Talking to a friend yesterday who suggested even if I just do one "Pattern" of my knitting each day it might help me get my mojo back, so Im going to do that. Lawn people are here at the mo, its been a month and the grass is long and very wet with dew, its the longest Ive known them to take.. Ohh sunflowers it must be a releif to be having to get your payout and have the gardens etc done. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2021-03-05 09:32:00 |
| is there such a thing as justifiable homicide? arrggggggg MrK!!! My poor magnolia tree!!! He's determined the magnolia needs pruning and not the damed cherry tree beside it when it's the cherry causing all the issues. I knew I should have got the garden guy to do that corner, damit. Sorry about the rant but I am fuming. Will have a cuppa and calm down before I talk to him. kiwimade64 - 2021-03-05 09:54:00 |

| morning ladies :) I could have cried yesterday, the magnolia tree was 'pruned' and big branches taken off, all with flower buds. And the blo*** cherry tree was untouched. MrK wouldn't let the garden guy touch that corner of the garden as he said he could do it. I told him when he falls off his perch, that damed cherry tree is the first tree to go. I'm glad the tsunamis didn't do any damage, everyone seemed to be taking the warnings seriously. I thought our NEMA Minister Kiri Allen did well too. And I had to smile when a reporter asked Jacinda what was she thinking when she heard she may have another disaster to deal with and her reply was 'bug*** it!'. I suspect her language may have been a tad stronger lol. Even though we live inland, we still were asked by family and friends overseas if we were OK. No embroidery for me yesterday. I did housework and mowed the lawn instead. We are borrowing a friend's waterblaster and hopefully can get it today. I'll be waterblasting the house, especially the gutters which have a green sludge on them. So a reasonably warm day would be appreciated please lol. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2021-03-06 07:34:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is ok now after yesterday. Had abit of a meltdown later in the morning. Rang a friend in tears and came around to see me. Starting to come right again. Yes, I have a bag that I can take off with,if need be. Still nights I can sit and hear the weaves rolling in. I can side with you about trees kiwimade, that our men went to keep and take others out. . Have planned what plants etc I would like to keep in the gardens. Not sure if the silk tree will come down or not. It's about 40 years old.Lost a big piece off it a couple years ago. Good to hear you got to have a talk with Mr BP in the evening. You will work out what will work for you and what to keep. How the cat taking it with Mr P not around.? Edited by sunflowers28 at 8:52 am, Sat 6 Mar sunflowers28 - 2021-03-06 08:50:00 |
| Morning everyone Sunflowers Im not surprised at your meltdown its been a poop of a couple of years hasnt it. Go to the sale and treat yourself and make something for yourself. I finally got through to MrP at 6-30 last night. so much for them getting him to ring me. He thinks I'm going to be visiting tomorrow and bringing him home. I would have gone up but when I was talking to his nurse about the scans etc she said they dont have visitors on the weekend. And they have a meeting on Mondays. I might get my diamond painting out today... havent done any for so long. And I do miss it. Have a fab day everyone Edited by popeye333 at 10:16 am, Sat 6 Mar popeye333 - 2021-03-06 10:14:00 |
