I reckon you can never have too much wool either

| Good Morning Ladies , Still no bin, just hope it comes this week. I have removed all the rubbish that came down the the drive yesterday morning, fulled a wool bale. My mover guy is sending his brother to tidy up the gardens this coming week.Washed and folded metres of cloth over the last 12 days. Still more. sunflowers28 - 2020-11-22 08:54:00 |
| Morning everyone Thanks Kiwimade, I really like repurposing things. Anything that stays out of the ground is good for me. Ohh not good re your foot, but as you say at least you can sit with it up today. years ago a friends mum used to sit when ironing, Id never ever thought of doing that before lol.. So pleased you are getting through your cleaning and tidying up Sunflowers. We ended up going to the warehouse yesterday and got the last of Izzy's birthday present. A couple of cool Christmas ornaments, new underwear for both of us and I finally got an Elf for the Shelf, well he's a naughty Elf. Ive wanted one for several years. And seeing other peoples photos was fun. So I'm going to do the same. Got the chocolate Santa's for the kids too so our shopping is done. Other than doing the rubbish and putting some dishes through the washer Im planning on sitting and sewing up more of the Santas. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-22 09:24:00 |
| morning ladies :) A stunning day here today so I'll be following the sun while weeding. The weeds aren't too bad as long as I keep on top of them. I'm thinking of pricing some mulch, good for the garden and good for my back. The trick though is to be very thorough with that weeding before you apply the mulch. I stitched quite a bit of the elephant while I had my foot up yesterday. Managed to embroider all of his face and started on the ears. I think I will be cutting it fine with my Christmas embroidery stuff lol. But the hardanger piece I'm thinking of doing will be down sized so I can finish it reasonably quickly. Happy crafting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 6:56 am, Mon 23 Nov kiwimade64 - 2020-11-23 06:55:00 |
| Morning everyone A lovely day here by the looks too. MrP and I have been gassing about the old days and families etc so Im running slow lol. I have a full on dose of sinus, blood nose etc, the privet on the way to Pukekohe is in full bloom. Havent been this bad for many longs. I did a couple of beards yesterday, am enjoying it. will do more later.. Im having some days off. The dust can wait . I still need to tie up the tomatoes again.. Maybe later lol. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-23 09:30:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies from Sunny Napier this morning. Looks like it going to be apricot jam or apricot sauce season this year. Thats ok. Still waitingfor the bin. So I will head off shortly and come back deal with either the apricots or do some house work. Folded a heapof fabric last night. Have my lawnmower brother coming to start on the gardens. My Brithday and Christmas present from them, I have been told. They are young and work very hard to build up the business. No veggie garden this year. Have a bath that I can use as it's been turn over since we have been here. Popeye, I still have done very little towards Christmas this year. Made my Christmas Cake. Still feel very lost as I have 3 more birthdays to deal with and it will be 2 years since Mr S left us as well, all before Christmas. Everyone likes your white christmas tree. sunflowers28 - 2020-11-23 09:36:00 |
| morning ladies :) yummmmmm apricot jam and sauce, sooo good! A wet day by the looks of it but boy we need it. I was weeding yesterday and the garden was very dry. MrK has agreed we need to mulch so we are going to 'trial' a corner of the garden to see how it goes. I spotted some rot on my Bantry Bay rose climber (sob, sob!) It's at the base of a major limb, am gutted. But I'll see how it goes and baby her along, hopefully, it will be ok for the summer but I suspect that whole branch will need to come out at pruning time. It has to be the one with the most flowers too. Was trying to work out it's age and it's around 17 years old so pretty good really. I did a little bit more stitching last evening but was pretty tired so put it down. I make mistakes when tired so better to just leave it. Am going to Tauranga this morning, another of my sisters-in-law is having problems with her wifi (like I can help much lol). She refuses to learn anything about wifi and using technology but she's going to have too sooner or later as everything will be done online soon. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-24 07:29:00 |
| Morning everyone. Tis a gloomy day out there. I thought it might rain overnight, but it hasnt so far. Ohh Kiwimade not good about the rose.. Thats a good long life for a rose. Ill cross my fingers that it rallies. I discovered a WHOLE lot of beans last night.. Sitting at 3-4 inches at the Mo, so its not going to be long and Ill be picking the millions that are there. Yay. lol... The potato bath is doing well and you can tell the plants at the back closest to the brick wall are alot bigger than the ones at the front. Had to tie the tomatoes up again, I think they should be right now, well they better be cos theres not much length in the stakes to tie them again . MrP is still in bed, he stopped his insulin again. Im sure he likes feeling like crap. He knows I was going to be sorting his drawers out this morning. So they will wait. I too was tired yesterday, I think its all the sinus and blood nose stuff that is causing it. I have a sister in law who refuses to learn anything new so has to reply on her hubby and others. When he goes she is soo going to be in a mess. She says she doesnt understand technology, but she doesnt try and learn about it either. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-24 09:22:00 |
| morning ladies :) Looks like it it's going to be a rough day weather wise. The rain is very welcome though. I think MrK will be dodging raindrops when he goes into town for his blood test. If I can't get outside today then I might as well keep embroidering the elephant and try and get as much done as I can. It won't take long to sew the bag once the embroidery is finished. The ironing needs doing too, I know people who think I'm mad for ironing but space is a premium here and if things are ironed, they fit better in the cupboards and drawers. My ankle is still a tad tender, but then I have been walking on it a lot. I noticed yesterday I wasn't limping as much so that's a good sign. I strapped it yesterday for all the driving I had to do and that helped. Time to get cracking, the washing machine has finished so I'll empty that first. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-25 07:07:00 |
| Morning everyone I haven't really looked outside yet. But I can hear the wind.. We have to go to MrPs appointment today and it turns out its at Middlemore hospital not the superclinic. Just as well they text and that we did get the letter yesterday or we would have been in the wrong place and that would have meant a super Grumpy one. I just hope the lines at the doors of the hospital aren't too long cos its a really cold area in the loop at that back. We will go to the fruit shop on the way home but that will be the only stop. Good to hear the ankle is improving Kiwimade. Has your Yoga started up again? Sunflowers I hope the rain is missing you over there. We did MrPs drawers and wardrobe, it wasn't as bad as I thought. But annoying enough lol Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-25 07:16:00 |
| Good morning - thinking about you Sunflower- it’s persistent and steady so here’s hoping it doesn’t get any harder - was down at the creek behind me yesterday and the level is still above normal from the previous flood so there is still a lot of water around gerry64 - 2020-11-25 09:40:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies from a cold raining day from Napier. It's rained for the last 24 hours,so over it and the wind is blowing. Looking forward to when I can get out in the gardens, the flower gardens will need a good going over. My climbing rose is flowering. It's the first thing I see when I open the curtains in the bedroom in the morning. Enjoy your day kiwimade inside with that leg up.A good day for stitching.Hope Mr K does not get too wet in town. Did you see any new plants when you was walking around the gardens? Hope you stay dry when you both go out to Mr P appointment today. We turned over the bath yesterday and it will most likely be my herb garden. Thanks for sharing your veggie gardens. It's great to be able to pick what you want and when you need it. Fresh is good! Feel sorry for our local fruit and veggie shop. Hear it had water in the shop and alot of veggie plants have been taken out after the flooding. I'm going to try and keep busy today as it's two years today since Mr passed on.Where has that time gone,I ask myself? Edited by sunflowers28 at 10:05 am, Wed 25 Nov sunflowers28 - 2020-11-25 10:03:00 |
| Wow Sunflowers thats gone very fast. Today my Nephew would be 43, but he died at just shy of 30, stomach cancer. The appointment was hard cos MrP got his nasty on. And then we got home to discover there had been a tornado through our section with a tree from over the side fence being blown into our yard taking a complete section of the fence down. It couldnt have been more perfect cos if the boards have survived they will just have to nail the piece back up. popeye333 - 2020-11-25 18:34:00 |
| morning ladies :) I hope you were able to remember happier times yesterday, sunflowers. Time does seem to whizz by doesn't it. Not taking his meds won't help MrP's behaviour, popeye. Stand your ground. The Waikato had a tornado too, it seems we are getting more and more of them. I saw the pic you posted on FB, it shouldn't take much to repair the fence. Would have been something to see that's for sure. I need more petrol for the mower so will go into town for that. Never thought to give MrK the container when he went in yesterday. All the 'Black Friday' sales are on, so might just have a peek for the final Christmas pressies while there. Gotta love American Thanksgiving traditions. I embroidered an ear of the elephant yesterday. There is soooo much embroidery in this piece, lots of padding for the satin stitch, back stitching and the like. Am going like the clappers on it and am hoping to have the embroidery finished over the weekend. Suns out so I'm going to trim the lawn edges before going into town. The wind's battered the poppies so I'll be tying them up too. Happy crafting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 7:09 am, Thu 26 Nov kiwimade64 - 2020-11-26 07:09:00 |
| Morning everyone Your right Kiwimade, MrP has stopped his insulin again. Still takes all his meds. but he told the nurse yesterday he wants to die.. Which Ive known for many years. They have decided to do a CT scan to see if they can find anything in there. As he is a huge risk to have any anesthetic. He's ok about that. Time will tell. They seem to think he has cancer there somewhere too. My twin rang last night to see if we are prepared for that. I said yep been there done it enough times now that we will get through it. Hes very sore this morning so is going to stay home , so the dishwasher is on and Missy will keep him company lol. Am going to get a new lappy hopefully this morning.. Might as well use the sale to save some money lol. Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2020-11-26 08:40:00 |
| morning ladies :) I saw some 'new' plants on the garden ramble, sunflowers and I'm tempted to look for them here in the Waikato. Tauranga gardens are way ahead of ours, their dahlias are in flower and mine are only just starting to bud up. Your fence was mended quickly, popeye. It was lucky the post was still there :) Tornados are so unpredictable. It does sound like MrP has given up. Maybe once the cancer diagnosis is clearer it will help him. Not knowing can be stressful and the mind works overtime. Yesterday I mowed the lawn and finished in time for the rain. I could see the rain clouds coming over lol so it was a race. I've finished the second ear and started on the trunk of the elephant. This bit is more stop/start as the design is smaller and there are lots more patterns. I'm debating whether to go to Hamilton this morning to finish the Christmas shopping. The Black Friday sales are on but for what I want, I'm wondering if it is worth the trip. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-27 07:11:00 |
| Afternoon Everyone A nice day here.. I was out early and once again First in the door for the give away's at the Chemist. Got a nice bag with lots of goodies including a big tub of fish oil so thats stocked me up even more lol. My Stepfather used to grow Dahlias. he had all sorts.. they are cheerful flowers I reckon. Got home in time for Erin to come and do MrP's shower etc, and then the OT arrived, so by that time it was after 12 so we went up and did our bloods. I picked 200 grams of beans this morning, Sooo pleased. And it made such a difference having to bend right over. I froze them cos we are having salad tonight, which I always seem to do when I do my INR lol. Right I will see whats been happening on FB. Have a wonderfull day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-27 14:11:00 |
| morning ladies :) Oooohhh beans! Ours are flowering now, can't wait for them to grow! We freeze them too popeye, they are a good staple to have in the freezer. It's going to be a lovely day today so I'll run the hoe through the garden where I've been weeding. Now I'm on top of the weeds it's easy to maintain. And the roses need de-heading. Albertine is looking amazing. The good thing about Albertine is it flowers for six weeks and that's it. I don't have to de-head it as it will go straight to hip and I'll prune it in July. Considering I haven't fed or sprayed the roses they look great. Maybe they need that bit of neglect lol. I'm having my last attempt at growing Chatham Island forget-me-knots. Hopefully this time I've planted them in the right place. I stitched a bit more of the elephant's trunk yesterday afternoon. I went to Hamilton in the morning and did the last of the Christmas shopping. Didn't need a lot but while there was able to get the bearings MrK needed for something he's building to help use his sander easier. Housework first this morning, not that there is a lot to do but the spiders are back. I have pressies to wrap too so will make a start on that. Must find a box to put them all in so they will be easy to transport Christmas Eve. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-28 07:12:00 |
| Morning everyone The Chatam Island forget me nots are sooo pretty hope it takes for you Kiwimade. Was another busy day yesterday. so other than a little housework I have no intention of doing too much. I might get the new lappy out and sort that out, otherwise I might leave it for tomorrow.. I want to have a relaxed mind to do it. Its beautiful outside I might put some washing out the front in the full on sun. Have a fab day everyone. popeye333 - 2020-11-28 09:21:00 |
| morning ladies :) What a change in temperature, it's cold this morning! Yesterday afternoon I finished the elephant's trunk and part of it's thighs. so things are moving along quickly now. MrK has finished the little wooden crate for his sister and I bought some fancy jars to put in it. Just have to fill the jars with some homemade pickle and jam we have in the pantry. She will have to put the jars in the fridge though. So a combined effort for my sister-in-law's gift. MrK is making a gorgeous chopping board for my sister from old recycled totara (I think it's totara) and I will put that into the bag I am stitching her for Christmas. It's a 'thank you' as well as Christmas gift as she will be dog sitting the Furry One for us. Yesterday the Furry One met his younger sister for the first time (she's from another litter). She was too busy exploring here to play with him but he followed her around constantly. She sat on MrK's lap and the Furry One marked his territory by peeing on MrK's leg. I think that was the biggest f*** you ever! So MrK got the hint lol. My hay fever is maddening, I've got the itchiest eyes and am going through eye drops like crazy. I saw on the news last night it's to do with the weather system we're having. Time to get moving, I have a few things to get done before I can do more on the elephant. happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-29 07:24:00 |
| Morning everyone. It was cooler overnight, but tis nice at the mo here. Has been raining. Those gifts sound wonderful Kiwimade, Hand made and the thought gone into them is totally the Best presents in My opinion. I know what you mean about the hayfever. My eyes are nasty today, Ive been doubled up on my meds for 3 weeks now have the worst nose ever. Just as well my INR is in range or Id be having many blood noses. Ohh I had to laugh re MrK and his gift from the Furry one. years ago we adopted a huge white golden lab. His parents had moved overseas. I got him home, and our friends came up to see him , I squated down to keep him close, since we had no idea what he would be like and he promptly gave me a full on shower.. in my hair and right over me. The friends went home, and I stripped off as I was heading to the shower... something Ill never forget lol I got my new lappy out yesterday and have plugged it in overnight.. I will have a tutu later.. The guy said they can transfer all my photos etc over from one to another but Ill hold off for a little while. At least this one can be like a photo album unti I get some more USB sticks to put everything on. No crafting at the mo, but Im ok with that. Cant wait to see the elephant Kiwimade. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-29 09:54:00 |
| Popeye enjoy your new lappy l have had no luck with anything electrical this year so far l have replaced my dryer, toaster, kettle, vacumn, electric blanket now my tablet and laptop won't charge. I wish l had the money to replace but it is hard being single and paying high rent. My friend went on super in August and says she is better off l have to wait 2 more years. huntlygirl - 2020-11-29 14:09:00 |
| morning ladies :) I hope the weather plays nice for you huntlygirl :) Haven't been camping for years but loved it when we did. MrP doesn't sound good, popeye, and I think you are right, it doesn't take a diagnosis to see what's wrong. The scan would pinpoint where the cancer is and then you and MrP can make decisions. It's supposed to rain again today, I didn't get to de-head the roses the other day so it may have to wait until tomorrow. I need a fine day to do it. I have one elephant tusk left to embroider. I've done all the padding needed for the satin stitch so it shouldn't take long to do. The bag should be all finished by this afternoon all going to plan. Most of the Christmas gifts this year are handmade but there will still be the books and so on we usually give the grandkids. It's a good way to use my stash up too. I will have to replace a few DMC threads but that can wait for the next round of sales. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-30 07:25:00 |
| Morning everyone Oh do have fun Huntlygirl, I love camping too. I checked MrPs iron level tests from friday and they have vastly improved. But yeah we know there is something there. It would surprise me if he is offered chemo that he would take it. We lived through it with my sister and decided then thats its not something either of us would want to go through. Looks like rain here too. I had a totally lazy weekend didnt really do too much. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-30 09:09:00 |
| Happy Birthday Sunflowers.. Hope you have an awesome day !!!! popeye333 - 2020-11-30 09:42:00 |
| Happy birthday sunflowers! kiwimade64 - 2020-11-30 09:52:00 |
| Popeye l know that area very well l grew up in Whakatane and kept my horse at a friend's farm in Matata. I haven't been down there sibce 1997. This is my second camping trip with Violet she loves the beach and has lots of fun. Her bio brother is fostered by people who have a holiday home where we are going so they will be able to spend time together. Our site is at the front so can almost roll out the tent onto the beach. huntlygirl - 2020-11-30 12:19:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another wet day, so much for the weather forecast saying it will be fine. Maybe it will fine up later. I had a very successful day yesterday and finished my sister's bag. I lined it with some satin (crazy stuff to sew lol) fabric left over from a wedding dress. But it made a really nice lining and I'm very tempted to keep the bag for me lol. I'll take pics when the lighting is better. While I had my machine out I sewed another bag for a friend. Will use it to 'wrap' her Christmas gift in as our two families swap gifts each year. This year I am trying to cut down on waste and find other ways to wrap gifts. I have some left over paper from last year so will use that up but I love the Japanese way of gift giving by using fancy towels etc tied in fancy ways. A practical and useful wrapper so two gifts in one. My fabric stash is small anyway but with all this sewing, is going down nicely. And I'm using fabric I really had no use for other than this. So now to design a piece of hardanger for our grandkids other grandparents who we will see Christmas Day. These rainy days are perfect for getting this stuff done guilt free. I dead-headed the roses yesterday, our bin will smell divine for the bin man lol. Did a count up and have 29 roses although they are spread out and you wouldn't know there were that many. And MrK pointed out I have another spot for a climber :P I might do some research and order it for next season as my birthday present. happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-01 07:12:00 |
| Morning everyone Its lovely at Pukahina eh Huntlygirl.. the added bonus that you dont get the sandflies at Matata does lol. Another wet and windy day, perfect for indoors but I will have to check the beans at some stage. I got a present from a friend yesterday, my very First Advent calendar... I havent opened todays, I will wait till I know she is opening hers and we can be online as we do it... it kinda feels like cheating opening presents early lol. It feels like the week before Christmas, but its the week before my big shop. Theres certainly limited choices in the freezers but Im trying to vary things for MrP. I feel like a potato bake with bacon in, hes not that fond on them, I could suggest a quiche but he gets sick of those too lol Im still adding pages to the computer.. I must change my, I had it so it opens on the community page but its opening at the front page lol. Still no craft, I wish I could find something to enthrall me . Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-12-01 09:24:00 |
| morning ladies :) It looks like it's finally going to fine up today so I will mow the lawn. Might even get some baking done today too. I'll have to dig out my 'Christmas' recipes and see what ingredients I'll need to add to the shopping list. Yesterday I started sewing some heat packs but they are a bit big so will cut them down to size today. I wrapped what Christmas pressies I could and now need to find a decent sized box to keep them in that will travel well. I'll have a look at Pak 'n Save when I do the grocery shopping next. I started a piece of hardanger yesterday afternoon. I'm winging it with no particular plan in mind so heaven knows what it will look like. At least this way there won't be any mistakes lol. happy crafting :) Edited to add the pics. Another elephant/giraffe bag and a Christmassy pohutukawa bag for my friend. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1444766517.jpg https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1444766453.jpg https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1444766580.jpg Edited by kiwimade64 at 7:11 am, Wed 2 Dec kiwimade64 - 2020-12-02 07:04:00 |
| Beautiful work Kiwimade. Lucky recipients. 1shadow1 - 2020-12-02 08:36:00 |
| Morning everyone Awesome Bags Kiwimade, Im sure they will be well loved. Its fine and still here today, I should put the washing outside, but it doesnt take long to dry in the sewing room. It gets the sun all day and I put the dehumidifier on to save the room getting damp. I picked just over 300 grams of beans yesterday, and it didnt hurt my legs like last time lol.. I need to get some replacement lettuce and silver beet soo too. A week to Christmas club shopping day lol... I think seeing that grow has made the year fly buy. I was going to do it all on one day but Im thinking $700ish a meat is going to fill a trolly or close too and since it takes alot longer to get through the crowds I might get the meat on club day, cos they have good specials, and get the rest on our normal shopping day. I stock up on the non perishables, bags, cleaners, flyspray etc etc. Then we only need to get the fresh stuff and our drinks etc for a couple of months at least. I might look into some sewing today, I want some slightly longer tops to wear and cover my strapping. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-12-02 08:41:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies. Sun out and washing on and off shortly to set up more Christmas Trees 200 plus once we finish and setup. That all I can say at this stage. We hit the 100 mark yesterday. .Starting to get tried some days this week have been long Popeye so sad to hear Mr P is not well. Are you able to get a few days away after Christmas/ New Year you need a break. Been thinking of you when I'm busy with these trees. Hope they have some answers for you shortly. sunflowers28 - 2020-12-02 09:36:00 |
| morning ladies :) That's an awful lot of Christmas trees, sunflowers! Buggar about having to remove the topsoil. But I suppose it's all about health and safety as you would have no idea what nasties was in the flooded water. I keep thinking how devastated I would be if anything like that happened to our garden (am waiting for a car to come through the fence). My Albertine rose is looking amazing, it has finally come into it's own. It's only three years old and MrK estimates it is six meters long already. I told him it will grow to at least eight meters lol. Am so tempted to move another climbing rose and plant another Albertine so most of the fence will be covered with it. No dead-heading and wack back by a third when pruning. How easy is that. Today I have the delphiniums that survived the rabbits to tie up and I need to put another piece of concrete reinforcing wire up to support the climbing rose I grew from a cutting. Concrete reinforcing wire works really well as it's solid and has squares for tying the canes. MrK planted some raspberry plants his sister gave us and has built a supporting frame for them. Can't wait for them to grow. The grapes have gone nuts so we will have lots to share with family and friends. I'm picking away at the hardanger, I'm not feeling enthused by it but will finish it. Then I might go back to working on the piece I started of the Furry One. Happy crafting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 7:08 am, Thu 3 Dec kiwimade64 - 2020-12-03 07:06:00 |
| Morning everyone Sunflowers the fresh trees have only just started up here this week.. I sooo wish I could have a real tree, but they're no good for my nose and MrPs asthma. And sadly my Methodical mind cant do uneven trees, I like things symmetrical. Im ok so long as Im feeling well I can cope with things. And now that Ive discovered how much pain I used to have and fixed by strapping myself up Im really feeling near normal lol.. I wont wear it today so might be a bit narly after the shopping. Kiwimade a full fence line of Albertine would look lovely. I miss my raspberries, I wonder how they would go in a bath.. hhhmmm bath city lol The clouds are coming in, but its still windy.. I hope it stays fine, I like MrP to come into Pak n Save, to make him walk some. 6 days to club day lol.. yep Im counting lol.. I realised yesterday having been feeding the Christmas club has made the year go faster I think. Right I better check a couple of prices and do FB and then get sorted.. I need to find something to craft (Sighs) I miss it but not alot is inspiring me Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-12-03 08:08:00 |
| morning ladies :) I saw on the news the other evening the contractors who are cutting the wilding pines in the South Island have permission to sell some for charity as Christmas trees. I thought that was a brilliant idea. Housework today, the spiders are back again lol. As much as I love them for their fly catching skills, I don't need the webs. MrK is going into town so I can blat round without him under my feet. I'm uninspired too popeye, I usually find myself feeling this way after I have finished something. So I'll get the housework done, work a bit in the garden and see how I am later. The sage is enormous even after pruning last season so I'll give it a good haircut. Some of my poppies were bowled over by the wind again so I think I can say they have done their dash. Always something to do out there. Popeye, you asked a few posts back if I was going to yoga. I stopped last school term as her prices kept going up. I don't mind a yearly increase but an increase each school term was a bit much for me. Washing machine has finished, time to hang it out. And the Furry One is making it known it's time to play. Just as well I've had my coffee lol. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-04 07:10:00 |
| Morning everyone Wow Kiwimade Id agree re the yoga, its a tad cheeky isnt it. I bet her numbers will go down rapidly. At least you will know the moves etc so could do some at home. Ive decided to decorate tomorrow, it might help lift my mood a little. Need to figure out where to put the light tree I got a couple of weeks ago.. In think Im a little on guard, expecting MrP to ruin Christmas again like he did last year with one comment.. But I will make the effort for my own sake. I might also plan a baking session, but maybe after Ive done the big shop cos Ill put stuff in the freezer. We dont eat much but Ill make MrP a cake for sure.. Things are strained with the grandkids parents and us. I have no idea why but theres no communication at all now. So I wont be making some of the stuff I had planned. I have to go do my bloods since they were norty last week lol.. too much home grown lettuce lol Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2020-12-04 08:22:00 |
| morning ladies :) We're supposed to have rain off and on today. The rain is very welcome but the wind isn't. It undoes all the good the rain does for the garden. Not sure what I'll do today, I think I'll potter around for a bit. They are doing major road works on our road so the traffic is very quiet with the detours. They should be working by us next week so it will be even quieter. No complaints here. I'll pick away at this hardanger piece and try and get it finished quickly as I hate leaving WIPS. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-05 07:12:00 |
| Morning everyone, Very gloomy out there today. I should probably be checking the beans but I think Ill leave them another day or two. Im going to decorate and then get the lounge floor done, Post tinsel lol.. I stand the tree on a sheet when Im decorating it, so I do keep the mess contained. I got the bright coloured ball tree out last night.. I took photos but I havent uploaded them into the lappy as yet. They dont look like they turned out any good but when I see them bigger fingers crossed they will be ok. MrP is still in bed so its nice without the tv blaring lol.. A friend from Taranaki is meant to be ringing so I hope she doesnt disturb him too much. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-12-05 08:43:00 |

| Enjoy the sun Sunflowers.. Still very grey here but no rain. Ive done and hung a load of washing, have a second load in the dishwasher. Have got the tree together, will put the lights on before I put it in place and decorate it. Have a little area set up with my Street light and a small tree with MrP's Mums photo. Need to find the little Scotty dog to go beside her. And I hung the tree on the front door. I made my list and its working, I'm buzzing around getting things done with no pressure. Im on the mend !! Need to do my cards while Im on my lunch break, Ohh one of the Dr's rang with my INR this morning which is rare. Last week it was 1.9.. it needs to be between 2.0 and 3.0.. yesterday it was 1.3.. Have to increase my warfarin... I said I know why its like that, and told him about eating the home grown lettuce, he said to go back to not so often.. And then says but not Maccas for a week either.. I laughed and said I don't eat Maccas lol he laughed his head off lol He's very tall and blonde just not sure what nationality he is. Must ask ours next time I see her lol. Right lunch and games then back to the tree.. now that Missy is asleep and not being so "helpful" lol popeye333 - 2020-12-05 12:58:00 |
| morning ladies :) Good to hear you are on the mend, popeye. MrK's INR has stabilised since his stint in hospital. Our doctor always phones if his warfarin needs to go up or down. Our power is going off at 8.00am and back on at 4.00pm for maintenance work on the local sub station. We get this around three or four times a year. Luckily it looks like it's going to be a lovely day so we can be outside. So I've got water in the fridge (No power = no water here), washing is done and the dishes will be done as soon as MrK has had his breakfast. The camp cooker is out so we can make a cuppa later on. I'll turn the telly off at the wall and will do the same for the laptop when I log off as it is always plugged in. And that's about all I need to do for the power cut. The good thing about hand crafting is you need no electricity so that will be my afternoon. This morning my rose cutting needs tying up again, it's streaking away. And the gardens on the roadside need weeding. The road workers are back controlling the traffic, most drivers are doing the speed limit but last night we had an idiot hoon through. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-06 07:08:00 |
| Morning everyone Tis a beautiful day out there.. I will pick beans later. Ive nearly done all the Christmas decorating, I'm missing Santa and Mrs. Claus and the little tree. But Im really pleased to be able to hang all my pine cone twisted type of decorations that Ive collected in the last few years. Yeah I'm feeling good now.. I need to make sure I have lists and Ill be fine.. Normally if I don't get a text with my INR the nurse rings.. I guess since it was gradually going too low that is why the Dr Rang. I looked on our Med center website and he is Dutch, from the Netherlands, but oddly he sounds different to other Dutch people we know. Im still laughing about the Maccas tho. Only time I eat there is when they were doing Georgie pie . Cos I dont like hamburgers lol Rubbish and recycling today, Missy will miss her cardboard boxes but time for a cull lol. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-12-06 08:54:00 |
| morning ladies :) The power came on just after lunch so MrK was able to use his wood working gear. He was a happy camper. The road works are finished and they painted the lines in the wee hours. Boy we had some traffic go by yesterday thanks to diversions. Maybe now the dust will settle and I can get my hayfever under control again. I've decided to sell my rose Gertrude Jeckyl and replace it with another Albertine. I'll advertise it locally. It should move fine, will need to be cut back of course but someone will get a lovely climber if it sells. I've bought 'second hand' roses before and it's a great way of getting a mature rose for your garden. I'm starting to sort out stuff for our daughter to take with us at Christmas time. There are a few bits and pieces that were Mums that she has inherited but she asked me to hold onto until they bought their own home. Well, they have their home now so she can have it and free up some space here. I will miss the crystal vase though so may have to rummage around a few second hand shops to see if I can find something similar. You would think by the time your kids are hitting 30 years old all of their stuff would be gone. Finally found a home for our son's guitar he didn't want the other day too. I'm working on the hardanger and slowly working my way round the border. My eye sight isn't the best even with these new glasses and I'm wondering if the optician got it right. I should finish the outline today then I can work towards the center and that can be as fancy or plain as I like. Will depend on how much time I have. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-07 07:06:00 |
| Morning everyone The lounge is looking heaps better now.. Today Im going to have a quieter one, I have a couple of light up ornaments to take out of the boxes. And I have to put my clothes away and vacc my room.. Then I will sit and do some prices for shopping on Thursday. Two shops in big trolleys this week lol... The bones wont be good on Friday that's for sure lol. I love the higher smaller trollies but they wont cut it this week. lol I have to tidy the sewing room later, maybe next weekend but thankfully I can slightly shut it off and I don't see it from my lounge chair. Maybe something in there will inspire me. But I'm happy doing a big tidy up and want some fine weather to de cobweb outside. Ive never lived in a house with soo many cobwebs. thankfully the tenants don't tend to come in very often lol Have a fab day everyone Edited by popeye333 at 8:33 am, Mon 7 Dec popeye333 - 2020-12-07 08:31:00 |
| morning ladies :) The road crew came back and repaired the entrance to our road yesterday so now the road painters need to come back and paint all the markings. It's a pretty humid start to the day, spent most of the night with the blankets thrown off and the Furry One even slept on the floor on the duvet. Just hope the wind doesn't come back for a bit to dry the garden out. I finished the outline of the hardanger and am working towards the center. It should look ok when done, am making it up as I go but have a rough idea of what I want. Time to get moving, I hate sitting for too long. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-08 06:49:00 |
| Morning everyone Was a humid night Kiwimade, Missy even accepted the fan last night. While sleeping On me of course, the nutter lol The courier arrived yesterday to pick up a parcel, but he also left a huge parcel for MrP.. A wheelchair from the Hospital, Brand new and very flash. Its quite big so its going to be interesting to see how I go putting it in the car. But if he leans on the car for support he should be able to help me. We haven't officially heard he is getting it lol. One more sleep and I do my big meat shop. I'm soo pleased cos tea has been getting very boring. Thankfully we have some bacon so will be bacon and eggs for MrP tonight and Ill have a bacon buttie.. Even I didn't want chicken for the 3rd time in a week lol I did my homework yesterday doing the prices on the grocery side of things, didnt get around to adding them up so that will happen today. Ill be trying to assemble some sort of order in the sewing room again.. It has the wheelchair in now of course, but I might move it to one of the spare rooms. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-12-08 08:55:00 |
| morning ladies :) The wheelchair will make a huge difference to you both, popeye. Maybe getting out and about a bit more might help get MrP out of this funk he's in. Boy we had some rain last night. It was building up all day and the humidity was crazy. We had the ceiling fan on for the first time and that makes a huge difference when sleeping. It can drop the temperature in our room by at least three degrees. Even though the grass is wet I'm going to mow it this morning. MrK's family are coming on Friday for lunch and I'm hoping we can set up an old front door onto MrK's saw horses under our tree and use that for the table. We've used this before and it has worked well. I have some large tablecloths from Mum and my mother-in-law as they both loved using them. And it means they will be bringing their dogs so there will be four more dogs for the Furry One to play with. Our son starts his business Friday night at the Base in Hamilton selling waffles at the night market. It's taken a while to get all the paper work together from the council and do the food handling courses, buy his gear and generally get organised, but he's there. He's been thinking about this for a while now and being made redundant was the kick in the pants he needed to get going. Still working on the hardanger. I'm beginning to like it now I have some idea of how I want it to look. One more gift to buy and I'm done. Time to move and make a start on the lawn. The neighbours are up and we're rural so not bothering too many people. Want to get it done before the day gets too hot. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-09 07:17:00 |
| Morning everyone Yesterday was horribly hot and humid.. Missy didn't mind that the fan was on last night that's for sure. I looked at the temp which is on an inside wall and it was 27 at 7-30ish last night.. I don't keep it beside me now cos I don't think it helps my head to see how hot it is when I'm suffering. We didnt have any rain so was out watering the garden.. Kiwimade we use the saw horses and door outside too. Well used to lol.. OMG I cant imagine what it will be like with 5 little rascals running around lol. Good on your Son for setting himself up in business, how did he decide on Waffles? My big meat shop today YAYAYAY, MrP is coming but he will be using his walker, it will help really cos he can sit and hold the trolley while I grab the meat. I think Ive been awake every hour in excitement lol. I got the sewing room sorted and feel much happier now. Another week and Ill have everything done, shopping, hospital appointment etc . Then I will see what I can find to do. Have a fab day.. Stay Hydrated and have fun.. popeye333 - 2020-12-09 07:47:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another hot and sticky night last night. I hope this isn't a sign of what summer will be like. I baked a pav last night so it could cool down completely in the oven overnight. I must admit, it looks pretty good and even MrK, who doesn't eat pav was eyeing it up this morning. It's the third time I have used Chelsea Winter's recipe and the third success. So this recipe is a keeper. And I used some of the yolks in custard for dessert tonight. I don't buy the custard powder. Tomorrow we're having a family get together (hence the pav) as we won't see each other until after Christmas now. So I'll blat round and do the housework today and might even put some decorations up. I mowed the lawn yesterday morning and by 9.00am I was roasting hot. So glad I didn't leave it any later. Still working on the hardanger piece. I'm stitching quite a deep border so it's taking a bit of time to do. But it should look pretty when done and it keeps my hands busy. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-12-10 07:04:00 |
| Morning everyone What a Stinker of a day yesterday. I was melting from go to Wo.. BUT We did all the shopping.. We did the meat, that was fun fun fun lol.. Came home and I was putting that away, breaking down the meat etc and MrP said why dont we go back and do the groceries this afternoon, so I said only if you come in again on your walker... he did... So we are ready for goodness knows how long. Although there is a couple of things I have to get up the road this morning that pak n Save dont have. It was such a good day and my head is settled now.. I hate having empty freezers... I still have some to pack down today but that wont take long. I have to do my blood so ill grab the other things then I, home till Monday yay. Which book is the pav recipe in Kiwimade? The one I make was given to me by an older lady. You shove it all in the mixer bowl and let it beat ten minutes and cook.. Nice and simple lol Trouble is its huge lol.. I might try cutting it in half and then make meringues rather than a big one. Will fit in the fridge better. I "found" a skirt I had put in the sewing room to shorten the other day.. Back in the country music days alot of us made long skirts to keep warm in the winter. Im going to shorten it so I can wear it again.. I have oodles of top halves but not enough bottom lol I hope everyone is well.. Try and stay cool have a fab day popeye333 - 2020-12-10 08:30:00 |
