I reckon you can never have too much wool either

| morning ladies :) The Bernina shop sells knitting needles, sorry can't remember about wool. Thanks for mentioning the 11th Ave shop, sunnysue. Next time I'm in Tauranga I'll have a look as well. We're in for a rough day weather wise, there's been a weather watch issued. We caved and watched the American election coverage last night. Makes us even more glad we are kiwis. At least businesses here didn't need to board their premises up. The Fluffy One goes home this morning and back for a night again next week. I've embroidered an elephant ear and half way through the second one. Am very pleased with the results so far. Gotta love wet days, especially when I've done everything on my to-do list :D I'm hoping I can finish the embroidery this week so I can sew the tote bag together. Just have to fight my way to my sewing machine as a spare bed is still dismantled and is leaning against the cupboard lol. I'm being bashed in the leg by the Furry One with a rope. I can take a hint, he's trained me well. Time to play lol. happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-05 07:04:00 |
| Morning everyone Its a damp day here too Yay. lol. Only its brought the pollen down. Ughhh Im ducking over to do the shopping shortly and then I can be home and put it away before MrPs drs appointment. We Solved a Mystery yesterday.. We wondered how the torn lettuce leaves were getting in the ranchslider... then Madam showed us what she does. We have a screen door with big white squares in it.. To keep her in and outsiders out lol.. She stretches her arm through the netting and hooks a bit of lettuce with her paw / claws.. lol... She does it very well.. but Ive had to have a word with her.. I finished MrPs shorts yesterday and did alot of housework. Our inspection is on Friday and I only had normal housework to do, but I usually space it out a bit. Still have to vacc the lounge, clean the hob and splash back and do the floors in the kitchen and Im done. And yes we watched a little of the elections...Trump is like a kid who is tossing his toys out of the playpen in a hissy. (much like MrP sometimes lol) popeye333 - 2020-11-05 07:40:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another wet, warm day today. The lawn and garden are going nuts. The Fluffy One went home yesterday but will be back for two nights next week. I'm pretty sure she loved chasing the rabbit even though she didn't have a hope in catching it. But she figured out pretty quickly what the word 'rabbit' was lol. My sister couldn't believe how differently she behaves here. Yesterday I stitched the elephant's trunk, it needs the back stitching done and the trunk is finished. I'm hoping to have the embroidery finished by the end of the week, early next week. Housework today, I may have to cave and put the drier on. So far I have managed to get washing dry outside thanks to the wind and the drying rack. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-06 06:55:00 |
| Afternoon everyone Been a busy morning of phone calls and stuff happening. Still waiting for the inspection to happen, they are usually shortly after lunch. We have damp air but it hasnt rained.. nd is warm so the white snow is getting longer lol. The appointment went ok for MrP we both got drenched arriving and leaving, but it was warm enough to steam dry lol. He has to have an endoscope both ends and see what is happening. And is having an Iron infusion on Tuesday. Takes up to an hour the first time so they can keep a check on him incase of any reactions. The most common cause in people his age is cancer so she said the tests would happen quickly . I took some photos of my garden this morning... we have Flowers on the beans Yayayay lol Sounds like your elephant is going well Kiwimade... I wish I could get my head into something at the mo.. it would be better for me popeye333 - 2020-11-06 12:54:00 |
| morning ladies :) Fingers crossed for MrP, popeye. He'll be worried too. It's stopped raining for now and even though the grass will be wet, I'm going to mow the lawn. The wind has died down too. I don't mind the rain, it's the wind that does the damage. Yesterday I stitched an elephant leg, it looks weird with a face, trunk and leg lol. Almost done the embroidery, thanks to the wet weather. MrK took the Furry One in the car yesterday, left the keys in the car and the Furry One accidently locked himself in. This is a 'I-told-you-so moment lol. I ended up walking with the spare key to MrK, it wasn't far thank goodness. Otherwise I would have asked a friend to drive me. Time to move, it's a tad early to mow as we have nieghbours now, so will get on with other stuff. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-07 07:17:00 |

| morning ladies :) Another wet, no guilt, sewing day today. Yesterday I mowed the lawn, weeded a small garden, and put a small piece of concrete reinforcing up to support a rose. I think the rose is Cecil Brunner, I'll ask in the rose group I belong to to for identification when it flowers. Am quite chuffed with this one as I took a cutting August last year and it's thriving. Just the tusks to stitch on the elephant today so I should finish. Then I'll have a shuffle round in the spare room so I can get to my sewing machine and start sewing the bag. I suspect I'll be sewing a second one as my sister loved what she saw the other day. Enjoy the wet day doing what you love. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-08 07:18:00 |
| Morning everyone A wild and wooly night last night lol.. We heard a few fireworks but the biggest was the super loud thunder we had. The fireworks didnt really upset Missy she just hid, but she had come out and then the thunder hit and her whole body shook. And now although windy, The sun is out . MrP was in bed till lunchtime yesterday so no hair cutting etc for him. He hasn't mentioned it as yet, he's watching High chaparral lol. Some of MrP's singlets I made years ago are getting bobbly so he has asked me to make some more.. I got a second piece of white holey fabric last week at the oppys so Im going to use that.. So hopefully its the start of getting my head back in the right place.. Just have to say there's not really much worse than a Man (and thats debatable) who is a sore loser lol Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-08 09:02:00 |
| Morning ladies :) I finished the bag :D It took me two hours to embroider the tusks of the elephant as there was a lotttt of padding underneath the satin stitch. The elephant is another Trish Burr pattern. I'm very happy with the end results even if the Furry One put his dirty feet on it lol. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1431209418.jpg https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1431209660.jpg https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1431209918.jpg https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1431210162.jpg This morning I'm going to pick my first bunch of roses :) It's something I've been meaning to do for a few days but I was given a bunch of flowers the other day so was waiting for them to finish in the vase. And I want to pick them before the nasty weather arrives. I suppose I should put my sewing machine away and do the ironing but that doesn't mean it will get done lol. As for a man throwing his toys out of the sandpit, popeye, I agree. But we knew he would behave this way, it's literally in his DNA. The book his niece Mary Trump wrote was a real eye opener about his life. Very sad the way they were brought up and behave. I'm hoping the bedroom curtains will arrive this week :) Happy crafting. 16510 | Kiwimade your elephant is absolutely fabulous, love the bag. mica3 - 2020-11-09 08:36:00 |
| Beautiful embroidery, Kiwimade. granc - 2020-11-09 09:11:00 |
| Morning everyone Ohh Kiwimade the Elephant is Wonderful.. You are a very talented lady. Its going to be an awesome beautiful and usefull gift. I wonder if the library has the book about trump.. I saw his son who talks the same way with the hands etc too.. I think Trump needs to be thankful he survived his 4 year term. I bet there was many who wouldnt have shed a tear if someone had killed him. More washing today and I want to do the beds this week, somewhere between medical appointments.. whacked my wing on the cupboard door handle again this morning grrr... Smack where the big scar is. Brings tears to ya eyes I can tell you. Not sure what Im going to do today, I might try and sew the bottle covers that I cut out a few weeks ago.. Have to pick some silver beet today, one is going to seed.. Ill freeze some more too, rather than lose it.. I told MrP I would give some away and that went down like a lead brick... Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-09 09:22:00 |
| thank you ladies :) Am quite chuffed with it too. We have thunder and the Furry One is not happy. He charges at the window and barks like crazy at it. I've baked a sultana loaf and pottered about. The nieghbour's dog has figured out she is big enough to jump the gate now so has been visiting. Our boy finds her a tad busy and too big but can still out run her lol. kiwimade64 - 2020-11-09 11:20:00 |
| absolutely beautiful work kwimade you are so talented lindyloue - 2020-11-09 12:56:00 |
| morning ladies :) Thank you for your kind comments about my bag :) I'm thinking of making another one for my sister as she loves elephants. She even sponsored a baby orphan elephant <3 Nice to 'see' you again lindylou, sounds like you had quite the scare. I hope you are recovering well and your procedure tomorrow works like a charm. Ahhhhh our WIPS lol. Gotta love them lol. I have a couple I have thrown into a corner to go back too and will look (only look lol) at them again soon. I see them as my 'practice' pieces and part of my learning curve :P I still want to embroider the Furry One but I needed a lot more confidence to tackle that one. I need to sew a new cover for my sewing machine. The one I originally sewed is too small and tight to fit on and I forgot to add a hole for the handle to slide up through so I can carry my machine easily. I have no idea what I was thinking when I measured the machine up, must have been a blond moment. I have tons of fabric left over from other things so can use that. Time to move, coffee is finished and washing machine has beeped. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-10 06:51:00 |
| Morning everyone. So far there isn't any rain, but meant to hit the fan again later lol. Ohh Lindyloue I hope everything goes well for your monitor and treatments. Heart stuff is scary when it first hits, but Ive always had faith in drs and specialists.. To this day I remember not being scared when I had to have my heart surgery.. I knew I was in the right place and had an awesome team working for me. Lol Kiwimade, measure twice cut once... Sometimes we have "Blonde" moments with things. My normal machine has a flip top lid on the top and a slide on case for the bottom, and my Overlocker came with a soft plastic cover. My sewing machine was second hand when I got it in 1995, so she's getting on... Only had one spot of trouble and that was when I was making curtains and it was running incredibly slow. I hadnt noticed there was a switch on the foot for 2 different speeds lol.. MrP has his first infusion today, his mind is stuck on the cancer word so he hasn't been in the best of moods. But as I said to him, no sense worrying until he has done the cameras and get the results. Right I will hustle my butt. MrP stripped his bed this morning, after had told him yesterday to do it tomorrow, so Ill get that remade before be go out and will get the veges done too. Since we dont know what he will be like after the treatment. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-10 09:49:00 |
| Hi Ladies Just to say I am ok. Just very tried after theflood. Had to move all my wool and fabric to my craft room inside the house today...Have two bins of fabric to wash in next day or so. The driveway up the side of house had water laping the steps at one stage. Its time to make a move, not sure what it will be like in the morning as it's raining again now.We have power on again around 4pm. It was so good to have it on. Had afire last night just to try and cheer myself up. Fire truck came around about 12 30 last night to see if I was ok.I was a sleep. Will put photos up later in the week..Hope everyone is ok.Yes there has been tears. sunflowers28 - 2020-11-10 22:06:00 |
| morning ladies :) I've been wondering how you were getting on, sunflowers. It's great the fire brigade were checking on everyone and having power back on will make a difference. Hopefully today will be a brighter day for Napier and you can make some decisions. Finger and everything crossed for you. It's stopped raining here for now so I'm going to get all the lawn edges done and if the day stays calm, some weed spraying. The Fluffy One is here again and goes home tomorrow evening. No doubt she will be outside with me as she just loves the garden. My ANZAC poppies have started to flower and add another dimension and colour to the garden. Can't wait for the dahlias to do their thing. I've started embroidering my initial into the fabric for the sewing machine cover. It did come with a cover but it's vinyl (not like the hard cover I had for my old machine) and I want a nice one. Time to rattle my dags, I need to make the most of the calm morning. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-11 07:02:00 |
| Morning everyone Have been thinking of you too Sunflowers.. Not exactly what you needed after a big move. Im also pleased the fire people checked in on you... Well MrPs infusion went well.. He had one short flare up of attitude, but I nipped that in the bud by telling him off in front of the dr and nurse. We were leaving and his arm started bleeding again. So I wrapped a towel around it tight and the nurse came and dressed it again. We have the sky man coming this afternoon, thankfully we had plenty of stuff recorded, but if its the box playing up it means I'm not going to get to see the full last series of Criminal minds... He reckons its probably the trees doing it again. I will ask him to move the dish, so he's not here every 6 months or so. MrP and I trimmed the trees not that long ago. Ill be loading the dishwasher soon but the rest of the house is tidy. Im going to get the Santa's out, well its been soo long Im not sure if its two Santa's or a Santa and Mrs Claus. I need to get something to work on. Im wasting time.. and I think it will help my head to be concentrating on something. I just brought MrPs Christmas present, a new razor. We figured out the other one that just died is between 14 and 16 years old, cos we got it not long after we moved up here. lol. And Briscoes had a Half price sale, surprise surprise lol. Ill be getting a new lappy, but Im waiting for either the boxing day sales or the School sales in January. Its overcast and windy here, so im pleased Im not going out in it. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-11 09:01:00 |
| Good morning all - was wondering about you Sunflower as you are in the worst hit area - I was very nervous as I have a creek running behind but I am on the high side so was very lucky indeed .My son had huge drama at his supermarket and at his house on the hill - he has been arguing with the council about inadequate drainage on a new build being built above him and his concerns were justified - what a mess .Hopefully it will stop raining today gerry64 - 2020-11-11 11:08:00 |
| morning ladies :) You were lucky, gerry and hopefully your son will have everything sorted quickly. What a mess! 35 homes can't be lived in and more damaged. I see we are all having some fine days coming up thank goodness. Crazy isn't it how the temperatures are so changeable. Even our boy has been feeling the cold but refuses to wear a coat. You're lucky Ash will wear one :) I'm up early this morning thanks to two terriers who thought playing on the bed at 5.15am was a really good idea. The Fluffy One, according to my sister, is never up early. But when she stays with us it's 'up-and-at-'em' as soon as the dawn chorus starts. Today I can finally spray weeds that are too awkward to pull and I'll finish mowing the lawn. Only have the road berm to do. It's only been a few days between mowing but I think I have caught up with the 'extra' growth from the weed 'n feed. There's always weeding to do this time of the year so will pick away with that. The cabbage tree leaves need picking up and the aquilegias need de-heading. If I don't keep on top of those I'll have them everywhere. And I noticed my rose Bantry Bay has broken a tie and needs retying. Albertine is finally flowering and is showing her best on the roadside of the fence lol. Oh well, hopefully people driving by will appreciate it. I've almost finished embroidering my initial onto the sewing machine cover. Will only take a few minutes to do, then I can sew it together. Coffee is finished, will get my a into g and put some washing on. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-12 06:50:00 |
| Good morning everyone. Just typed alot and it vanished damm. Hope you have the fine weather in Napier so the clean up can begin.. Im thankful to live in an area where natural disasters would be pretty slim. So pleased the fluffy one lets her hair down when she is at yours Kiwimade. Missy "Patted well stroked" me this morning. When I woke up she was on my hip, I stroked her neck and she stroked my leg. She does alot of kneading but this was a first. My Mojo is back. Yay. I started stitching up the Santas late yesterday. I had knitted three. Ive done 2 main body parts, and have the boots on the third to do as it got too dark for the black... I knitted 7 arms lol... I might pop a couple into a little bag and take them with me to do while waiting. I need to have my eyes checked at some stage, I'm not seeing things as good as I was. And I think its about 3 years since I had them checked. Off to the general surgeons appointment today. fingers crossed he will agree to take the wings off.. I have some doozy bruises to help my cause. Have a fab day everyone and cross your fingers for me... popeye333 - 2020-11-12 08:07:00 |
| Good Morning LadiesWhat a day yesterday was. Did two loads of washing yesderday and my second load on now. Have about 3 more loads to go. Have fabric to wash. . No way is it going to the tip.Just thankful my felting gear and wool is dry, also my wool yarn is ok. Carryed 9 large plastic boxes in and still sitting in the kitchen..Still got water in back of the shed. Going to drill holes today, just so over it. My gardens have to be cleanedup,. The only cheerful part of flower gardens is my climbing dark red rose that I see in morning when I open the windows in the bedroom. Time to move and doing my shopping on line.sometime since I had done it,just hope I get it today. Thanks for thinking of me. Have a great day everyone. sunflowers28 - 2020-11-12 08:50:00 |
| Well kind of a wasted trip. The Surgeon said no he was sorry but they wont do the surgery. He said without a doubt the same thing would happened like last time. And to do both sides would make it even worse.. I had long enough to thread my needle and I went in so it went for a ride .. Glad things are improving Sunflowers popeye333 - 2020-11-12 14:56:00 |
| morning ladies :) Buggar, popeye. It was worth asking for though, if you don't ask, you don't get. And there could be a solution for you with the squeezy gear, I just hope it's comfortable. The Furry One went home last evening and my sister took an armful of roses from the garden. Always nice to be able to share them. I started sewing my machine cover but the Furry One just wanted cuddles for some reason. He gets like that sometimes, usually when he's had seizures but I suspect he was just sick of sharing me with the Fluffy One. Housework today, then back to my sewing. I want to get it finished so I can start on another giraffe for my sister's Christmas pressie. I'll do more weeding over the weekend, spraying and lawns were done yesterday so I've finally caught up after a three week break from gardening. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-13 07:24:00 |
| Good Morning everyone I can see a Tomato Yayayay lol.. MrP said he saw it yesterday but left it for me to find it. I will have to water them later so will investigate further. plenty of flowers on the beans too. How long do potatoes take to come up? I planted them a little over a 3rd of the way down in the bath. Very true Kiwimade, and I realize it was for my own health that he said no, so onwards and upwards.. And there is still one Bonus, I have a huge Numb area that I do my insulin in, so I get to carry on with that...lol It was funny I got my needle out to start sewing an arm and I had the shakes, a long time since breakfast, so I got my wee container of jelly beans out and had them in my mouth just when the nurse came in lol... They certainly work fast. but we sat in the car for 10 minutes to make sure I felt back to normal. I didn't sew last night, Id taken an oxy, but I will do some today. I have a couple of things up the road to do then I will get back to it. The furry one just needed his Mum Kiwimade, Missy is the same.. sometimes she will come to me in the kitchen and keep getting around my feet and crying.. all she wants is a moochy with me so we go to the bedroom and have cuddles on the bed for as little as 2 minutes and shes happy again. Sunflowers I hope you are getting sorted.. I wouldnt be wasting the fabric either.. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-13 08:54:00 |
| Evening Ladies What a busy and wastle of time and money. Can't do anything till Monday as there houses on hills that need to be taken care of first. Also lots of ground movement there as well on the hills. People have moved in to the holiday park.I'm happy with that. Two guys came today from P/North to help out. You can't do anything till we have plans in place and forward them to the Insurance Co. I just smiled Have filled two fruit bins of garden and other rubbish. Looked down the manhole in the floor in the laundry and yes it all wet as well. We have batts under our floorboards. Anything I want to keep has to be washed in hot water with bleach. I used suger soap and hot water yesterday. and air dried it as it was hot and sunny. I have had my face covered when cleaning up .Moved the car from the driveway and parked it on the front lawn,it will go into be serviced and WOF and stay till I went it .Needs a rego as well. Money money...There a song that sart off sing Money money... I had a vistor tonight asking was I ok and need any help from a Napier cop.Your name was given to them from the one stop service shop. Everyone is there. Open 4 around Napier. Was never near one and I have my friendly cop's number I can use , Him or one of his guy's would comes. Just may go to the local Farmer' Marklet or leave it till Sunday for Hastings market. The plant guy does not do Napier anymore when C19 can along . He has good plants year round. Hear there a good market down the road from you this Saturday morning. Well everyone hope you all have a great w/end. Thanks Everyone thinking of me here in Napier and others who have had to move out of their homes for months or till they get another place. Price of houses are going up and up down here.. 16528 | morning ladies :) I could see there is lots to be done in Napier, sunflowers. At least the weather should be nice for you to get things dry. Insurance does take a while though. Yesterday I started on the giraffe for my sister, she's visiting again on tomorrow so will put it away while she is here. It won't take long to do as it's a small piece and this is my second time round stitching it. I need to buy some more interfacing so it may mean a trip to Spotlight. Will get the embroidery done first though. I have a pile of weeds to go into the wheelie bin and will weed a corner where the convolvulus is growing. That is one weed I hate. Hopefully the weedkiller I sprayed on the other side of the fence will kill most of it off. The main road hasn't been sprayed for weeds for ages. MrK is reading Sir Charles Upham's autobiography by Tom Scott. He's been reading bits out to me and it sounds like a really good read. Can't wait for him to finish so I can read it. It's going to be a lovely day today so am going to make the most of it and be outside. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-14 07:21:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies. The sun out and wind is blowing, good thing the washing will get dry. Lost count the number of loads I'v done since Wed.I did 4 loads yesterday. Just giving the machine a clean out and my beding and my clothes will be next load. Folded up the fabrice last night. Need to take move photos and hopefully someone will give the ok to order a bin. next week. Time to move as have been up since 6 this morning, had b/fast out in sun and wondered around the section looking at my gardens. Still very wet underfoot. Thanks for your messages and hope everyone has a great w/end. Cheers sunflowers28 - 2020-11-14 08:26:00 |
| Morning Everyone Sunflowers such alot of work to be done, and Im so pleased the sun is out helping you out. Ive never had to cope with anything like major floods or earthquakes etc, I would have said years ago Id switch onto autopilot and get things done, but I may be a bit rough around the edges these days. MrP is grumpy again... only had half his insulin last night and none this morning. I'm not forcing him. I'm over it really. Its a beautiful day here so I have two duvet covers in the machine, Ive been drying clothes on the airer out the front door where its sunny for most of the day. I sewed up all the arms yesterday so am getting there. I am enjoying it again thank Since he is still in bed I guess it will be a quiet one here, Ohh dear wont be able to vacuum lol. Kiwimade I wish MrP could read. It would be nice to share books with him. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-14 08:40:00 |
| Hi It's something I miss is sharing what we both are reading or saying I would like this book to read. Mr S always had a book with him in the car or one at arms lenght. Wind still around,so just washed beding and my clothes. Going to head to town later today. I have misplaced my tv control somewhere in the house. See if I can pick one up late today. Edited by sunflowers28 at 11:14 am, Sat 14 Nov sunflowers28 - 2020-11-14 11:11:00 |
| morning ladies :) Good on you for having time out, sunflowers. I saw on the news the volunteers helping out, including our brand spanking new disaster minister. She certainly wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty, that's for sure. It's foggy as heck here this morning, but that's expected after a hot day and a cold night. Hopefully it won't be around for long. I woke with the Furry One standing over me wanting my pillow. He knows I get up early and he likes to snuggle up on it until MrK gets up. It's hayfever season. The hay's being baled and there is silage around too. So I'm sneezing away and have itchy eyes. Was really hoping I could get away with it this season but no chance. Got a text message from the hospital yesterday (Saturday!) reminding us of MrK's follow up appointment tomorrow. Just as well they sent it as I had forgotten all about it. I worked on the giraffe yesterday and unpicked a bit of the sewing machine cover. I should finish the cover today. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-15 07:02:00 |
| Morning everyone I was impressed with the new Minister too Kiwimade... in general I think we are a helpful country.. Mind you there are a few I could never imagine getting theirs hand dirty too lol. Yep so with you on the hayfever side of things my eyes were really bad yesterday and sneezing is already hurting ..lol There was a party either next door or the next one over last night... I read to my usual 11pmish and they were still going strong, so I took half a sleeping pill and took one in for MrP too.. I knew he would be struggling to sleep. Last glance at the clock it was 12-08... I wouldn't mind if I knew what the songs were lol. Going to pop up to the junktion today, see what Christmas decorations etc. they have. We like to get a new one each year. And I'm collecting the ribs sort of ones and pinecones. I have to shorten MrPs jeans and do the other pair of shorts today too.. Ive pinned together the beards of the Santas. but I will do the boots on the 3rd body too while its daylight. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-15 09:07:00 |
| morning ladies :) A really foggy start to the day this morning so it's a bit chilly. MrK has his follow up appointment this morning so that's pretty much the morning done and dusted. I hope to do some baking or mow the lawn this afternoon, depending on the weather. I won't be home later this week so want to get the lawn done before I go. That way, I don't have a huge job to do over the weekend. Better move, the washing machine has finished and I need to be organised for an early start. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-16 07:04:00 |
| Morning everyone No fog but its a nice temp. It should stay fine I think. Great excitement, I have some tiny baby beans, and there is alot of flowers too, and the tatties are growing before my eyes... I got an old wallpaper bath container at the junktion yesterday and have put holes in it. To transfer the pansies into. cos the litter tray doesnt have holes in it. So Il do that later. MrP needs to fix his walker seat, its popped the bracket off.. Apparently my fault cos I put heavy things on it in the car. Hes never looked in the boot to see that I always put the light stuff on it lol. One of our local FB groups has its what do you need and cant get post up like last year when we were given two single beds... And we have a Lady coming to clear out the front garden between the Yakkas. Im soo pleased cos I hate doing that garden. So Im baking for her tomorrow. Day three of no insulin again so MrP is wearing his permanent grumpy again... "sighs" Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-16 09:03:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies from Sunny Napier for how long don't know as it shows rain this afternoon. Have two loads to do and then have to run the machine with bleach before I can do my own clothes etc. All takes time. Still water in shed and boy is it black. Just about need to peg my noise when I need to go in. sunflowers28 - 2020-11-16 09:42:00 |
| morning ladies :) I'm a bit bleary eyed this morning as last night around midnight I was watching the meteor shower. Being rural there are no lights so I had a brilliant view. It's something I doubt I will ever see again so can tick that off my 'bucket list'. It took a while to 'get my eye in' and sometimes I doubted I had seen anything but then there would be a flash and a streak of light. Just amazing. Lawn mowing this morning before it gets too hot this afternoon. I did manage to bake some ginger crunch when we got home from Hamilton yesterday. We had a list of things to do while there so weren't home until late in the afternoon. We called in and saw our son who is setting up his business, he's waiting for his documentation from the council and generally getting organised. I've stitched the giraffe's eyes and it feels like she is watching me as I stitch now lol. Will finish her soon and then start on the elephant again. I've also got an idea for a piece of hardanger as a Christmas gift. Nice to be able to use my stash for this too. Time to move, the fog is clearing and I want to get the lawn mowed early. 16538 | Morning everyone Typed alot and it vanished. It would have been wonderful to see the meteor Kiwimade.. I remember seeing Hayley's comet when I was 21... Had a mess of an afternoon yesterday trying to fix MrPs walker, got it done in the end and I was stuffed to put it bluntly.. Had warfarin flat battery too which didn't help. Today I'm baking for the lady that is coming to do our garden tomorrow. normally I would be in the kitchen already.. wont be a huge bake tho so it will be ok. Might finish with a cheese scone or two for my lunch. I didn't get any sewing done yesterday so hopefully later today. My friend from Taranaki is coming to visit before Christmas, Haven't seen her for 14-15 years.. We haven't set a date yet but I know it will be after Nov 25th.. I might see if she will come up when our Christmas club shopping day is on, she will have her new car by then and its bigger than ours, and she can add up while I stack meat into the trolley. Nov 25th is 33 years since her little brother died,, and is 33 years since my nephew was born.. Ive always believed as one goes out as one comes in and that we were destined to meet. Right I better get cracking.. Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2020-11-17 09:29:00 |
| morning ladies :) It looks like a wet day here today which is fine by me as I sprained my ankle emptying the last catcher load of grass clippings yesterday. The only consolation is I finished the lawn lol. So I spent most of yesterday with it iced and up and will try and keep it up again today. Tomorrow and Friday I am meant to be with my sisters-in-law wandering around gardens in Tauranga for the Garden Festival. Panadol and good strapping should do the trick. Thanks to having to sit yesterday, I have almost finished the giraffe, just the ears and the top of her head to do today. I'll also make a start on the elephant so I have something to do in the evening while staying with my sisters-in-law tomorrow night. So that's pretty much my day planned lol. Thank goodness for being able to embroider or knit in times like this. At least I can be doing something while sitting. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-18 07:20:00 |
| Morning everyone Ohh Kiwimade thats not good re your ankle. Years ago when I was a lawnmowing contractor I was doing one of my favorite old ladies lawns and felt my calf muscle "Pop".. Nasty nasty pain, but I knew her family were coming to see her so I finished that lawn.. God knows how but I did.. Went to the Dr the next morning and he told me off and that I should have it up and resting.. Its overcast here too.. And the lady is meant to be coming to do our front garden, so fingers crossed the rain comes later in the day. No craft for me tho as I had to rest the bones. Today I need to put all my tools back that we used trying to fix the walker, which are on my sewing table. Then I hope to shorten some jeans and do the belt loops on the last pair of shorts. Friday or the weekend I want to drill the holes in my tree. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-18 07:34:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies It's overcast here today and rain heading our way. The car goes in for a WOF and check over. The Mower Guys work around it as it's on the front lawn at present. One coming back on Monday to start tidying the gardens for me. Have to remove everything off the vegie gardens. Planing to visit gaden centre at the w/end. sunflowers28 - 2020-11-18 07:54:00 |
| morning ladies :) Liking yourself is harder than you think eh, sunflowers. But as you say, baby steps. Maybe try liking one thing a day? And no repeats! It has to be something different every day :P The swelling in my ankle has almost gone down and I'm almost finished packing for the Tauranga Garden Festival. Just my toothbrush and a few bits and pieces to go. I'm going to take the walking stick MrK made for when we did bush walks, it's a gorgeous piece of manuka he has polished up. This should give me some support for when we stop to just look or chat. I finished the giraffe yesterday. Sitting on my butt with my foot up pretty much saw it being done lol. I didn't get the elephant prepared for stitching but that's ok. Will do that over the weekend. Assuming the house isn't a disaster when I get back lol. Happy crafting and I'll 'see' you in a few days time. kiwimade64 - 2020-11-19 06:48:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies. Sun is just starting to come out. We had another strom for about 20mins and lighting as well last night. .Big step today will know what I can bin and get replaced. The shed is a no go for me at present 5 mins and I have to get out. They will also check out under the floor in house for me today.heap of photos on my phone will down load when I'm not so tried. Kiwimade enjoy your break with your sisier in laws. Hope you are able to get around the gardens. Good to hear you are taking the walking stick. Popeye hope you are having time for yourself. Your veggie garden is looking great. Enjoy your fresh veggies. Edited by sunflowers28 at 7:41 am, Thu 19 Nov sunflowers28 - 2020-11-19 07:40:00 |
| Morning everyone Looks like a mixed bag out there today. Have fun in the gardens Kiwimade. The stick will come in very handy. I often use a walker if Im taking something heavy to another room, I walk so much better with it lol. Sunflowers carry on with your baby steps and each day will get better. I will say tho that I dont think I could cope with a natural disaster like that. Our front garden is now really clean. We left two succulents, one will hopefully fill it in over time. Found a very crammed in pot of Bromeliads which I told the lady to take away with her. And there was a broken pottery pot well in the back, someone had put the broken piece into it so its two levels. Theres a couple of spikey succulents in the lower section, and just rocks in the top. so the temptation to get strawberries to plant in it os very strong lol. Shopping today. Ive decided to get Izzy some pavement chalk, they have an awesome driveway to use... Ill find something else to go with it.. And cracker jacks has some twinning's infusions ( I assume its tea? ) 2 for $5 so ill get them for our lawn mowing lady and make some shortbread. Then my shopping is done. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-19 08:55:00 |
| Good morning everyone. Another beautiful day here. Kiwimade I hope you have a lovely time viewing other peoples gardens. Just watch your ankle. I have a few things to do today, need our meds so will ring for them soonish. Had a nice time shopping yesterday, MrP came into crackerjacks and Pak n save. Our crackerjacks is huge and he managed to walk around the perimeter , We got bucket of Chalk for Izzy, the boxes had 12 in for $8 but the bucket has 20 for $6. Also got some cold water infusions for our mowing lady. Ill make some shortbread to go with them. So I just have to get something else for Izzy and some chocolate santas . I have nearly finished my christmas tree.. I need to even up one of the bells and plait some cotton to make the top tie more thicker. Its really neat when you have an idea come to fruition. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-11-20 08:35:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies. Sunny and blue sky just what we need. I now waiting for the bin to come.I will be glad when it's over. So good to hear you are enjoying your veggie garden Popeye. It a joy to pick from your own garden. You take care of yourself and see if you can have a few days break. Ask your nurse or doctor as his carer you can get 6 weeks a year. You don't have to go away yourself. sunflowers28 - 2020-11-20 08:44:00 |
| morning ladies :) What a fabulous couple of days I've had. Wonderful gardens and fantastic company. My ankle was tightly strapped and panadol was a must. But there were lots of seats and places to sit and we were in no hurry. I could appreciate the work that went into the gardens we saw, just stunning. Some we liked, others we loved and some just weren't our thing. But, even the gardens that weren't our thing, we learned from. Housework this morning, there are a few loads of washing too so will make the most of the sunshine today. And later I have a few plants I bought along the way to plant out in the garden. I haven't been stitching for a couple of days so will make a start on the elephant at some time over the weekend. It will be a good excuse to put my foot up. Sunflowers, I hope the sun is still shining for you all in Napier and the cleanup is going smoothly. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-21 07:18:00 |
| Morning everyone Sounds like you had a lovely time Kiwimade. A couple of friends of ours in Taranaki used to be in the Taranaki garden ramble thing annually. apart from their country music their Garden was their lives. Im vacuuming today, once MrP gets out of bed, but that will be about all. Have had a busy week really so Ill take some time for me. After MrP had been showered yesterday I popped up the road to get our pills but did 2 oppies first. My mission was to find some needle threaders. I found 3 in one and none in the next. But I got this really cool white tree which lights up. I got one a few years ago at the same shops but its black with clear lights, I didn't know yesterdays one was coloured until I turned it on lol. Its soo pretty, it had only been power tested and put out while I was looking at other areas of the shop. Grand sum of $5. ill take a photo tonight with it beside the black curtain. My tree made from a recycled venetian blind and beads and the bells picked up in years of trawling oppies. https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1438485630.jpg https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1438485582.jpg I love it when an Idea becomes a reality. and I'm so very pleased with how it turned out. Now I wait for the next creation to pop into my head in the middle of the night lol. Have a fab day everyone Edited by popeye333 at 9:13 am, Sat 21 Nov popeye333 - 2020-11-21 09:11:00 |
| Cute Xmas tree Popeye. mica3 - 2020-11-21 11:00:00 |
| morning ladies :) Great Christmas tree, popeye :) That was a really good idea to use recycled stuff. Yesterday instead of sitting, I did the housework then planted the plants I bought on the garden ramble. And yep, I sure paid for it with my ankle swelling. Today I will sit... and sit... and sit... at least I can embroider and I can do the ironing sitting too. And we have rain this morning so I'm glad I was able to get the plants planted. Makes yesterday's effort worthwhile. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-11-22 06:35:00 |
