morning ladies :) We did have him go into a rabbit hole once but luckily were able to grab him by his tail and pull him out. But yes, those rabbits keep coming to visit so they are fair game. MrK has blocked all holes except one under the garden shed so they only have one way of escaping there one at a time. And I'm hoping he can put some wire netting up along a fence where they hop through today. Our neighbour has shot a few as well.

It looks like it's going to be a stunning day today so I'll find things to do outside. In spite of the rain we have had, the garden is very dry so if there is no rain today/tonight, I'll put the hose on the garden tomorrow.

Still no embroidery for me yesterday, maybe today.

Happy crafting :)

Good Morning everyone

They are determined litter critter aren't they lol

I didnt paint yesterday, I had a fight with the doorway with the hall and Mrps bedroom and I came off second best. it jumped out and hit me and I jarred everything. The nurse even asked if I was ok, I said yeah I will be when I get home and take pain killers.. Still narly this morning so I was taking Oxy at 5am.
So I relaxed and let things settle.

Ill just do lighter things today.

Ive finally made a decision about my Enid Blyton books. Im going to keep a few of the oldest ones and sell the rest.

Kiwimade when you were a kid did you collect what I call Swaps, some called them scraps and others sticker even tho they weren't sticky. Little pictures that come in a sheet if you were well off or swapped for with others as singles. And ones with Glitter were worth more to swap?
In a retro group I'm in someone sold a sheet yesterday. I still have some, I kept them incase I might have had kids... Ive decided those can go too..

Will list things on here this weekend cos they have a 25% discount on the success fees of things listed this weekend.

Hope the move went well Gerry...

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) No, sorry popeye, I don't remember those at all.

It's a cloudy start this morning but supposed to be fine later on and hot. I have an awkward garden to weed I've been putting off so will get that done before I melt outside.

MrK changed the oil and filter on the car Friday, so I think we can safely assume his pulled groin muscle is fine now. He's a mechanic and likes to keep his hand in with the car.

I started another biscornu late yesterday afternoon, not happy with my design so will try again.

Hope your move went well, gerry and you and Ash are settling in.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning - bliss absolute bliss ! I certainly don’t miss the traffic noise from my previous place - have gone from one extreme to the other very quiet indeed. Ash is loving the back yard .Still many banana boxes to go - have got to get rid of some stuff ! I have a lot of Mums craft stuff and came across her knitting needles - many of them are bone and she put them back in their packets after use - crossed my mind I should find a collector or something because my kids when it comes time to clean my house out would just see a big box of knitting needles and who knows where they would go - suggestions would be welcome
My second day my neighbour came to the door with cheese muffins - we were next door neighbours from toddlers until I went away to Uni - probably haven’t seen her for 20 years - we had a laugh to think we have ended up neighbours again .The neighbour on the otherside was cooking bacon on his BBQ this morning and he threw a bit over to Ash - will have to say something further along the track as he shouldn’t have it - gets a skin rash
Well the banana boxes are calling - beautiful day here

Morning everyone

Looks like another Stunner out there. There is a bit of a breeze.

It was funny, on Friday night I was talking to MrP about the "swaps" and a set of pictures I got when I was young. I think between 9-12.. Its 3 tramp type girls with white plastic frames. I still have them, and then in the same retro group a lady put some up for sale. She had two of the tramps and 3 in a pixie type theme with the diamonds clothes. I couldnt beleive it when I saw them, after talking about them the night before.
I must ask one of my friends who lived next door from when we were 7ish we think if she still has hers. I think hers were more Periot type ones.?

Lovely that you are neighbours again Gerry.. Today one of my school friends is 55 so we have been friends for 51 years. We met between me turning 5 in the May and her today.
I always wanted friendships that lasted at least 50 years. My Grandmother had one in excess of 60 years. And that used to amaze me.. probably cos even when young none of us expected to last longer than dad had.

Im rambling, but Yesterday my Fave ( I know you shouldn't have) Nephew finally made contact on FB. Hes an executive chef and we never know where he is at any time.. Hes 44 now and sadly hs lost his Glorious Long curly black hair. Thinning hair on both sides of his genes.

And a friend from Taranaki that we havent seen since 2004.. So its been an awesome weekend so far.

No plans for the rest of the day so Painting will happen.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) How hard case you have moved back next door to your friend, gerry. Sounds like you have found the perfect spot to live.

It's going to be a hot day today once the clouds clear. Lovely to have the windows all open over the last few days.

Yesterday I weeded the awkward garden, it's narrow, has a hedge around it and my standard roses and lillies are planted there. So I was trying to avoid the lillies that had just poked through and not back into the roses. The garden is right by the BBQ so I spring cleaned the area, moved the BBQ back to it's 'summer' spot and we are good to go for summer BBQs.

I embroidered a little yesterday and am much happier with my design. Just have to think about what to put in the middle and if I will use navy blue for the bottom square or keep going with the variegated pale blue I'm using.

The Furry One has his annual check up today, we've been waiting for our vet to come back from holiday. His behaviour is much better with her and he is less stressed. Heaven help us if she ever leaves.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Im loving the lovely days.. which is rare for me lol..

Officially removed a blanket from the beds yesterday lol But they are within reach if it cools down. I will wash them before they go back into the cupboard.

I didnt get any craft done yesterday, too busy doing listings yesterday. Id forgotten the amount of time it takes when doing alot at a time. I put alot of stuff on FB too, just to flick it off and get rid of it. Have to pop up to the oppie this morning with some padded hearts for the manager.

Hope all goes well for the Furry ones visit Kiwimade. It can be stressfull for all.

Its funny how you can move and find someone you knew. When we were in the other units , one of an ex friends cousin moved into the 2nd unit. We spent time together when we were teenagers when she used to come up to her cousins lol.. And she is related in a long way around lol

The bread is smelling wonderful.

And Yes its lovely having windows open, there's a bit of breeze out there today

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone

Our run of glorious sunny days are over. Its very overcast today.

Had a neat visit with Izzy and her Mum yesterday. Izzy has lost her first tooth lol.. The tooth fairy in their house pays $5 for the first then gold coins for there after lol.
They brought us a bag of the lamington flavoured potato chips to try. We havent as yet lol.. Along with lots of other goodies lol.

My craft of any kind will have to wait, I was dusting and sorting out cookbooks for a cull and I did my wrist in again.. Most annoyed cos I doubt Ill even be able to paint, Ill give it a shot tho.

Will go out and vote today. We will go to the school we used to live by cos its flat ground to get into the office so MrP will be able to get in easily.

I hope everyone is fine and well.. Kuaka if you have time to read I hope is all going well with your son and yourself

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) An overcast day here too but it's supposed to be fine later so washing is hung out.

I've got a chocolate slice cooking, very decadent and rich. We have a luncheon to go to tomorrow so thought this would be nice with coffee.

MrK heard Keith Urban for the first time when watching 'Sunday'. Told him he has been listening to Keith Urban for years lol but didn't realise. So now we have him playing this morning on the stereo. Just love being able to bluetooth my music.

I'm off to vote this morning too. My mind was pretty well made up ages ago so no point putting it off.

The Furry One received a clean bill of health yesterday and we have increased his epilepsy meds a tad so hopefully this will see him right. Our vet gave us a at least three months supply of his meds as she said it has been difficult to to get his pexion because of covid. So we make hay while the sun shines so to speak. There is him and another dog on pexion at our vets. She took a blood test too and we'll get the results today.

I finished the top of the biscornu yesterday and am very very happy with it. Now to do the bottom half. MrK said to keep it lol and make our daughter another one.

Time to take the slice out of t he oven. Happy crafting :)

morning ladies :) I went to our local school too, popeye, and they weren't open either. I had to go into town anyway so called into the council office and voted there. As I was leaving, there was quite a queue forming and then I read last night online over 150000 people have voted already. Makes sense if you have made up your mind.

Looks like our run of fine weather is about to end. I've had the hose on the garden again so the rain will be welcome.

Just a bit of embroidery to do on the biscornu then I can stitch the pieces together. The frame for my bee is finished and I've dropped it in to the local joinery place to have the glass cut. Getting quite excited now to see it finished.

happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

We got through yesterday without rain but its happening today already.

I think we are on water restrictions still but the 5 minutes that it takes to watr the veges wont hurt and I figure since we still have our superfast showers, like we used to in the mobile home, we should be ok lol

Woke up this morning thinking oh my wrist feels ok, then lifted my bottle of water... so It will be in the brace again..

I cut out a couple of "Jackets" for our drink bottles on Sunday but certainly cant get to the sewing machine to sew with the brace on.

MrP had more silver beet last night. He is loving it and it make me feel good. This house has made life far different to the previous. It doesnt get anywhere near as hot, or cold. And being able to have the garden on the front (some would say back) concrete pad has brought me so much joy.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) We were in Rotorua yesterday for a family lunch and as usual, I came home with another plant for the garden. My sister-in-law and I will have the same gardens soon lol. I've been invited to 'do' the Tauranga garden festival with two of my sisters-in-law next month. Am looking forward to walking around stunning gardens and gleaning ideas with great company.

I'm going to start stripping the wallpaper in the last two bedrooms shortly. Even if the walls stay unpainted for a while, at least the walls will be prepped. Our daughter wants to borrow dad's (now mine) wallpaper steamer to strip her walls and heaven knows when I'll get it back so thought I'd get ours done beforehand. These are the last two rooms to be painted and I can paint the windowsills which desperately need doing while I'm at it.

I just have to stuff the biscornu and sew the beads in the middle to squash it down. I have the glass for the new frame and will cut the board out to size so I can lace the bumblebee onto it. So a couple of things to finish off today.

First though, the lawn needs mowing again. So I'll drink my coffee and get that done before it rains.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

One side we have blue skies the other grey and it has rained at some stage lol.

Kiwimade I must learn not to eat while reading your comments, I just about splattered the screen when you said about matching gardens lol

Ive been thinking myself lucky, as much as wearing the brace is a pain in the butt, at least I can take it off if I want to do something.. Id hate to have broken my wrist or anything.

Shopping today, I dont have alot to get but its the everyday stuff. And I wont be wearing my mask Yay... but lets hope people behave and not send us backwards again.

Have a fab day everyone...

Good morning slowly getting the better of the banana boxes - have had plenty of offers to help but would rather do it myself than shift stuff around -
We have gone from 29 to 14 degrees had to plug ash’s electric blanket back in - my son is down in Queenstown said its great there are so many kiwi families enjoying the place
I have kept the man on here who has done the lawns and gardens - he obviously has pride in it .All the houses in the street are Art Deco and only one in the street is two storied - they must have been wealthy - the street is protected I am very restricted on what I can do - not that I would want to change it
Haven’t done any crafting but my craft room is starting to look good - have a pair of school trousers to mend before school goes back - they are absolute rubbish - he goes to a private school and the uniform is expensive but they fall apart -
Well coffee break is over - enjoy your day

Afternoon Ladies. What week I have had. No Landline phone or computer since last Thursday. Just my cell phone. Ended up having our local Police calling in as family and friends could not get hold of me. Our local officers checked to make sure I was ok or if I needed anything. It was a stuff up with Telcom and 2 degrees.I just want to do a little dance when My computer came on again this afternoon. My landline will be on again in the morning.I did some knitting, cut out a few bags to sewup. Sorted out my clothes and send some off to the church store. Now need to check my linen. . I cut up some blankets and blanket stitched the edges. for cots and baby wraps . Cut out fabric shapes and animalscrossed stitched or machined them on to the blankets. The blankets where leftover from when a friend and I made sarves, jackets, vests etc etc for market stall.Still get asked for the vests etc for childlren.
Did some time out in the gardens and now know what I want to plant and what to turn into lawn. Washed the house down and will start painting later this month.. The fire place has to come out and either another fireplace or heat pump, not sure which way to go at present. Gerry we do need to catchup for coffee. So happy for you that you have moved into that street,if it's the one I am thinking it is. Yes, ladies it's good to hear you are all ok and enjoying fresh veggies from the garden. Glad to hear you have started a veggie garden popeye.

She got a new quad last weekend and l thought to myself how long before she breaks something. She is 8 and has broken her arm 4 times and femur once. She came in calmly and said l broke my arm mum and had to eat before we went to the hospital didn't get home until 1am.

OMG Huntlygirl Violet is one tough cookie... Poor thing, Could be a bonus tho, it will be out of the cast before it gets too hot in summer and it would stop her from swimming.

I had a chat with MrP about building another raised garden on the fence line, then said Or I could get another bath and put it by the fence, then I realised I could fit another bath running in line with the other one, but on the ground. The grass doesnt grow there , I guess cos the rain wouldnt get right in, By my hose would reach.
But me being Miss cheapie Ill wait until the Junktion has a sale and Ill only pay $10 that way. Then Ill have to work out how much compost and potting mix I will need.
I wonder if I could work it out, if I can find out how much water a bath holds and go from there.

My new Mission lol.

morning ladies :) Welcome back sunflowers lol. So good the police called in on you to check. Gerry, sounds like you are settling in. You're a bit like me, I liked to unpack myself too. And huntlygirl, what a tough kid Violet is, I hope her surgery goes well. When our boy broke his arm, he bent and buckled the bone and needed surgery.

I've just chased our neighbour's lamb back into the paddock. It's discovered it can get under the fence. We are so close to a busy main road and don't want it wandering.

I mowed the lawn yesterday and omg it was hot. Summer is pretty much round the corner. We need compost as well, popeye. Our own compost is almost finished. Will be so glad when those damed plastic stickers on fruit are banned, every so often I find one I missed in the compost. I threw a compostable plastic bag in a few weeks ago so it will be interesting to see when that bin is ready to be turned and then emptied if it has composted.

Yesterday I laced my bumblebee onto the board and now I'm waiting for MrK to tap the little metal bits into the frame to hold everything in. I pulled the metal things out of old frames and kept them. Am waiting for MrK to make my easel but he has a couple of other things to make first.

Happy crafting :)

Hi Ladies, Sure feels like Summer down here in Hawkes Bay. Last Sunday was 28c here. Just have to see what happens for Labour w/end. I known us to have had the fire going all that w/end.
We have our own Community Police Station about 5 mins away. in the village. There 5 at the base, they not there all the time, but I can leave a message and the Senior Officer will make contact with me or get one of others to phone or call in.Hours are 8am-5pm Mon-Fri. They are a great crew. They have helped me many a time as they know I have no family here in The Bay. They go out of there way to help everyone in the village. Last Wed the Police in Napier met at the local coffee bars for 2hours and anyone in the area could have a tea or coffee and have a talk to a cop.
We lost our Napier Station. It's just an office Area for them to do their paper work and attend Court when needed . Hastings is main Police Station for both. places. Yes! we need a full station in Napier, but we were told no. Our MP is the Minister of Police.

Popeye the plants grow well in the baths. I have one seating on a couple of posts off the path and would like another couple. Easy on the back and does not cost that much for soil. I use lawn cutting as well. Get your lawn guys to leave some lawn cutings in a heap for a couple of weeks. .Have s/berries and my herbs in my tub.
Gettingto warm to do alot of knitting now. Will sew more as weather gets hot. Did 2 blankets for a friend to use when in the car seat and an extra warm one when it's cool at night.Hubby took them home the other week after doing the lawns . Walking on cloud 9 as they are the only handcrafted things they got for their first child.Tthis coming week the two brothers are going to get in and help tidy up the flower gardens.
The last couple of weeks a friend has had me help her put up 150 Christmas plus Trees for the Christmas Tree Show in Dec. Last year they had over 4,000 came in over the two weeks.
How the unpacking going Gerry?
Time to move and cook some tea.
. Have a great weekend everyone

Well the day changed.

I got home from doing my bloods and a few other things up the road to find MrP on the floor in the garage.. He reckoned he had been there about 5 mins.. So I call the ambulance, as I cant lift him and I knew since he had banged his head, that he would be heading off to the hospital. So I followed up. He is ok, weak that's for sure and not arguing about being there.. He now knows what its like to hit the deck in the garage. Concrete hurts and is cold.
Our Homecare lady arrived in between me ringing the ambulance and it arriving. She said she felt she needed to be earlier.

They have done a CT and they didnt find any damage to his skull etc... BUT when they tested his BSL at the hospital it was 35.. Yep should be between 5-8. So they have kept him in, So Im having a break, I am tired and sore.

Sunflowers are you in like a retirement village area?

popeye333 - 2020-10-09 19:11:00
16423

morning ladies :) Blimmen men, eh, popeye. I hope MrP is home soon (but not too soon lol, you could use the break :P). My goodness, how on earth did he manage with his BSL so high?

A lot of new parents don't have handmade things for their babies now, sunflowers. I think maybe they just don't know anyone who knits/crochet/sews or maybe it's a fashion thing. I know our friends son and daughter-in-law loved the knitting I did for them as it was 'different' to everything else they were given. And the knitting was warmer too as it was pure wool.

Today I'm going to fill in the holes the Furry One has dug trying to catch rabbits. I can't complain as he caught another one last evening (right on his dinner time again lol, so that's three now at that time). And if it doesn't rain then the hose will have to go back on. The winds we have had lately have been drying out everything and blowing soil from the spud and onion paddocks everywhere.

I've drawn a spider for embroidering so now to have a tutu and see what happens.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone.

Yeah Men lol Kiwimade.
he has been very weak for ages, hes been guzzling water like 4.5 litres a day. Eating all the time and the most he walks is to the middle of PnS.. Or at home its to the garage and thats an internal one. He is his own worst enemy. he blames our dr for him stopping the insulin, She just told him that he needs to work with her, but I knew that wasnt going to happen.

Im hoping he wont be coming home till at least Monday. Ill be able to have a catch up on some stuff without him in the way.

Im going to try painting later. considering how sore my wrist was from driving yesterday its not tooo bad this morning. so the dishwasher is on already.
I will have to water my patch too, its amazing how dry it is.

Good Morning, Sun is out and very little wind so far today. Just finished picking the oranges over 10kg. Friend will pick them up later today for the foodbank. Be about 2-3 weeks and they will be finished.Have juiced alot as well.
Sorry to hear about Mr P fall. Hope they keep him in for a few days so you can have a rest. Boy that BSL was high.

The Christmas Trees are for a Display at the local Salvation Army. They been doing it for about 3 years Popeye. Mother had five brothers and a couple of them married Sally girls. One of my cuz is the officer here at present and we all get on so well.We all went to the same collage etc. They have all the trees lit up for about 8 days. During the daytime they have alot of groups come in from resthomes etc, etc, little ones from from day care. Reopen again in evenings when family groups come in.

At present I don't need to water my gardens as we have had some showers overnight the last week or so
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm off to have a hair cut and have some me time out.I like getting a coffee and sit watching the sea roll in.

morning ladies :) wow, 4.5 liters of water a day is a lot to drink, popeye. MrK is the opposite to MrP. If something is in the slightest wrong he goes to the doctor. I wish there was a happy median for us.

Your orange trees sound awesome, sunflowers and that's very generous of you to donate them to the food bank. Our food bank won't take fresh produce but one of the local churches prepares free dinners for the community once a week so we donate to them if we can.

I had the hose on the garden yesterday and then Murphy's Law kicked in and it rained. Wasn't much so I'll finish watering today.

Yesterday was one of those days where I was busy but didn't seem to accomplish much. The day just slipped away on me.

The Furry One may have hurt himself yesterday as he couldn't jump onto the couch or the bed and refused to come through the doggy door. MrK seems to think he may have bruised his leg as he fell off a chair yesterday. This morning though, he seems fine. We have never had a dog like him for getting himself into trouble.

I'm hoping today MrK will get to my bumblebee. If he doesn't, I'm going to suggest I have a go at tapping in the metal bits. I'll start stitching my spider today, am happy with my drawing, now let's see what it's like embroidered.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Yeah its alot Kiwimade, considering he used to just have a couple of coffees a day
Took over and hour to get to talk to him last night. The ward he is in has always had trouble with their phones.
He is On insulin AND he is doing it himself. Im glad I was sitting down when he told me that lol.

Does anyone know what happens about Voting when your in Hospitals? Ive done a query on the Vote NZ page, I guess they are very busy.

Bathrooms today and then Ill be back to a happy level of clean again. My wrist is holding up well.

Kiwimade I find Offering to do something usually gets the item finished faster lol... For many years it worked with MrP. Now I ask for advice on how to do it and he is showing me which is cool. lol.

Overcast here but still no rain.

Have a fab day everyone. I have listings finishing later so will be back lol

popeye333 - 2020-10-11 09:01:00

morning ladies :) Does MrP have a mobile phone, popeye? You can pick up cheap $20 prepay phones that are simple to use and then there is no fuss about phoning him. Saves the nurses running round too. As for voting, I don't know. My sister-in-law is a nurse and we were talking about this the other day. She seems to think patients can vote from the hospital.

The weather is turning nasty here over the next few days so I am going to start stripping wallpaper in the last two bedrooms. Our daughter has asked to borrow the wallpaper steamer and other stuff I have so I thought I'd get the last of our wallpaper off before she borrows it. Then there is no rush to have it back. We'll take it with us at Christmas time so I have a bit of time to get it all done. And our walls can be 'naked' for a while until we can afford to paint and put new curtains up. I'm pretty sure I have some white paint left over from painting the rest of the house so I can at least paint the windows and sills.

I started stitching the spider yesterday and after a couple of false starts have the abdomen done. When you have a closeup look at the photo, it's amazing how many different shades of colour there are on the spider.

Coffee's finished, better get cracking.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning- every morning I wake up in this house I thank my lucky stars for my kids negotiating with the people to sell it to me - they were renting it out so the timing was perfect for the kids to approach them .I am still shifting furniture around deciding where everything goes best
We are supposed to get rain later just lots of high cloud at the moment - I have 8 olives in pots but thank goodness they are hooked up to the watering system as they would be in danger me looking after them .I think my kids told the gardener I don’t have a green thumb as he seems to be labouring the point I don’t need to worry about the garden
Popeye Mum used to vote in the rest home so they probably do the same in hospital

Morning everyone

I heard back from the electoral place. They can let me take forms in for him or they might do them around the hospital. It shouldn't like he might be home before then cos he isn't being sent to rehab this time.

I'm going to get one heck of a tanty when he gets home. Ive told them about his lack of personal hygiene etc so they are going to sort that out. The occ health rang to ask what it was like at home so I told them everything. And I asked would he be coming home today he said he didnt think so, and I said well Ill double check cos I need to take a big pain med. And I wont be safe to drive after Ive had it.

I got heaps of housework done yesterday which is probably why I had a rough night lol.

My wrist is good so once Ive made a couple of phone calls Im going to paint.

We had rain overnight, I knew it would since I had watered my garden lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Good on you popeye, for speaking up about MrP. Ignore his tanty when he has it, he has to learn he can't bully you and you only have his best interests at heart. Hopefully help can be set up before he comes home.

It's great isn't it, gerry, when everything comes together. Sounds like you are going to be very happy in your new home.

One wall is stripped of wallpaper. Whoever thought painting over wallpaper was a good idea needs to come back and strip the stuff! Some of the paper is very loose and can be peeled off but omg, what's left is stuck forever lol. The walls are going to need a damed good sanding before I can paint. There's no hurry to get it done so I'll just pick (literally!) away at it.

Trust me Kiwimade Im not going to be mollycoddling him this time, lol

You remind me of when 4 of us has a 3 bedroom cottage to strip and paint in a week. Long days and alot of layers. but we got it done. I had never wallpapered before so MrP gave me the wardrobe to do since if it wasnt perfect they wouldnt care. He said I done fantastic job and should take it up as a job.. lol No way the stripping was nasty lol

morning ladies :) My shoulders ache this morning from stripping wallpaper and I still have walls to do. It's a good ache though, it means I've been working. It's going to take a bit longer but I've decided to strip a wall at a time and sand it back rather than strip all the paper then go back and sand the lot. This way I only have to move furniture once (and the beds are heavy). I can use MrK's big sander rather than my little 'mouse'. Thank goodness it's the last room in the house with painted wallpaper.

It's been raining overnight and still wet this morning. Saves me watering the garden lol.

No embroidery for me yesterday but I'll do a bit more today. I want to finish it now as I have an idea for my sister-in-law. It's our turn to buy her Christmas pressie and she has asked for 'something handmade'. No problem there!

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Tis raining here too, so I just stand at the ranchslider and admire my garden. Everything apart from one pot looks lovely and healthy. Two silverbeet plants in one of the pots are only half the size of the other plants.

Yes Kiwimade MrP does have a mobile phone, he moaned until he got one. Then threw it at the floor when he couldnt understand how to use it. So he doesnt get a second chance.

When I called last night I spoke to the nurse again and neither the nurse or the OT guy wrote anything in his file. I was not impressed but she promised me she would put it in there. And I told MrP to make sure he tells them too.
They better do something about it cos Im in a bit of a narly mood today lol, so I wont hold back if something isnt done or even checked.

I hope they dont let him come home today, just not in the mood for the drive...

Sounds like I should have got out of bed on the other side today lol.

No painting yesterday, I played cards but I had alot of phone calls to make and all of a sudden the day was gone.

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon Ladies. It's raining here as well. Just came back from lunch and need to do some housework, as I have to put some folk staying a night later in the week. A very good friend/mate was killed on Saturday mornig. He was out riding his motor bike. Known him just after we came back from The UK and that would be 30 years ago. Dave was also from England ,but up North. Was speaking to him last Friday and was going out for coffee this week.
I know what it's like taken wallpaper off walls. One house we had took us weeks to remove the paper and paint and yes the owner was a painter/wall paper trademan.LOLGood luck kiwimade.

When I was working in hospitas they came around on voting day ,so everyone could vote staff and all. Hope they keep Mr P in so you can have a good rest and enjoy so me time Popeye.

Gerry so please to hear you like your new place and it's handy to the shops. You will have your place how you want it and Summer coming you will enjoy it. Yes, we must have coffee one day soon.
Better move now, still raining as the ground needs it.

Have a great afternoon and evening ladies.

morning ladies :) Back to the wallpaper this morning. This is the last room with painted wallpaper, I've left our room for last as it has one layer of wallpaper and should be easy to do.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, sunflowers. Our son rides a motorbike and it's always in the back of my mind how easy it is to come off them.

Our son was one of the Warehouse staff made redundant and he's over the moon about it. We had a good long chat with him about his decision wanting to leave and saw it as an opportunity. I think attitude is everything and this was the kick start he needed to go out on his own.

No embroidery yesterday for me, I was out and about a lot but I did get shopping done lol.

Back to the wallpaper for me, coffee's finished. Embroidery later this afternoon.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Sorry to hear about your friend Sunflowers.. I take it as he was doing what he loved, it kind of makes it feel better.

When my sister was run over by a truck I learnt that no one is safe from anything.. She was sleeping in her bed when it happened. It kind of puts everything into context I suppose.

You will be glad when the house is all finished again Kiwimade.
Your so right about things happening for a reason re your Son.. I hope he does well and its good he has good parents to guide him too if he asks for help.

I'm off to the Drs and to get MrP this morning. I'm going to ask my Dr about getting my wings taken off.. The two sides that were left when they did my hernia repair. Not only are they horrendous to look at, they get in the way with the cupboard handles and the arm wrests in the car. It will probably take ages since it is more cosmetic I suppose, they are blardy annoying and hurt.

So I will get a few things done and then toddle off..

Have a fab day all

Morning ladies :) A wet miserable day outside but a good day to keep going with the wallpaper. I've stripped and sanded one and a half walls and while sanding, burned out the small motor of my 'mouse' sander. This is the second one I've 'killed'. So MrK knows what he can get me for Christmas lol. I've borrowed MrK's sander and it's a lot heavier but omg it gets the job done. So back at it again shortly.

The Fluffy One is coming for a visit today as my sister is passing on her way to work . So she will pop the Furry One over the fence and pick her up on her way home. Hopefully the day will clear up and we won't have two wet dogs racing in and out.

No embroidery for me yesterday, I was working on the wallpaper for most of the day. Was filthy with dust afterwards so had a shower and nodded off on the couch before dinner. Shows how 'match fit' I am lol but to be fair, it has been three years since I've done this type of DIY.

Happy crafting :)

Morning Ladies, It's raining here at present. Off to Dave's service this morning. Visited his family yesterday. They are come from all over the country. Spend most of the day helping. We set out 450 chairs in side. Over a 100 motorbikes well bring from home to the service and leave again for Hastings. My gardens are getting watered. Going to put in my plants at the weekend.
I picked up some cross stitch during the week. It was sometime since it's seen daylight.
It's raining so just hope everyone coming take care on the roads today.
Happy Crafting.

Morning everyone.

I got MrP home safely, and got in and out within the hour. He ate junk for tea, no surprises there but we had, had a late lunch. And he has had his insulin.
The Social worker and needs assessors both rang, thankfully on the mobile cos MrP was talking to his brother lol.. What MrP doesnt know that if he stops his insulin again and ends up in hospital they will put him in a home, I guess under the mental health acts etc.. But Im not telling him that at this stage, cos he will stop taking it again in spite.
I finally 2 years down the line asked my dr if I could get my "wings" taken off.. The left over from the spare tyre lol.. I keep hooking them on the cupboard handles and they rub on the armrest in the car and the seatbelt fitting too.. So she is referring me back to who did the first opp. She was honest and said if it was just wanting them off cos they are ugly it wouldnt happen but cos they cause pain it might get through.

Im missing my craft but its a trade off for the cards which I am enjoying.. I was 25th out of half a million people in a challenge the other day...I thought that was pretty good lol.

Right better make a shopping list and get ready.

Have a fab day everyone

oh MrP couldnt beleive how much the garden had grown in 5 days lol

morning ladies :) Sounds like you have the support there for MrP, popeye. The Needs Assessors don't miss a trick. Our garden has grown like crazy too over the last few days, especially with this rain.

It was freezing yesterday, we were down to 8 degrees. That didn't stop the Fluffy and Furry Ones from being outside. OMG lol, two very muddy, wet dogs. My sister took her dog home to bath her lol. But they both looked so pleased with themselves when they came inside.

The rain has stopped and even though the lawn is wet, I'm going to mow today. Wallpaper stripping can wait for a bit.

My bumblebee is finally all finished and I must admit, I'm quite chuffed with it. I wasn't planning to frame it but am really glad MrK made the frame and easel. I painted the bedroom it's in, greys, yellow and white, so it goes well there.

Time to get moving, last day of electioneering thank goodness.

Ohh Kiwimade , it is Beautiful.

I have a friend who loves bees and she would certainly love that. lol..

We went up earlish to do our bloods and get pills.. And MrP did his voting.. He then said its probably my last time.. It most likely will be , so he wanted to make sure he did.
I think having the advance voting has made it alot better, and at the Temp we have gone back into , makes it better for alot who would have to line up outside too.
Our House and personal care lady came this morning, and we have sorted out his shower days, and THANKFULLY, she likes the fatty cream they gave him a prescription for... I say thankfully cos I hate it.. Its too thick and yucky for me.. but not only that it has white paraffin And Liquid paraffin in. And thats not good for people on warfarin, cos you cant know how much is getting into your body.

Last night the singlet went back on and my woolly hat too.. It was bitterly cold. And Madam climbs up and claws my blankets back so she can get direct heat lol.

I have to admit I am so releived at all the help we are getting. And our house lady said that if I ever have the need to get out for a day she will come and sit with MrP.. I dont think I could handle having time away but a day out would be great. I could do an opp Shop crawl and just be able to walk my speed and just take my time sounds wonderfull lol I might book one for before Christmas.

I need to get my butt into gear and do some sewing, I need summer skirts so I hope to start on sunday.

Have a fab day everyone... stay warm..

morning ladies :) Thank you for your kind comments about my bumblebee :) I'm working on a giraffe now (design by the same person as the bee) for my sister-in-law and will go back to the spider another day.

I would book her in quickly, popeye as she may get busy closer to Christmas and it could also be useful for her to have the extra dollars then as well. It's great news you are finally getting help. The help we received when dad was with us was invaluable, especially as he 'behaved' for the ladies.

We came home early last evening to find the Furry One had just caught another rabbit. Between him, our neighbour's dog and our other neighbour shooting them, I think we have a couple of young rabbits left. I think that's the 38th rabbit he's caught. MrK made me some wire netting cylinders I've put over what is left of the delphiniums so they can't get to those now and the delphiniums should have a chance to grow. The rose cutting I struck August 2019 is going nuts and I have lots of new growth. I don't have much luck with rose cuttings but struck two out of three with this one. My friend has the other one.

Housework today, then back to wallpaper stripping. I'm about halfway through with the wallpaper. Will do a bit more on the giraffe this afternoon. I need to get out and weed the garden, all this rain has everything growing.

Washing has finished but there's a frost so I'll wait for a bit before I hang it out.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Thats what I knw will happen re MrP and the showers lol.. I know our lady will be firm but gentle lol... Yes I will sort out a date and go "Oppying" and yes Ive added it to my dictionary lol.. Years ago when my dr told me I needed a 2 week break I settled on a day out shopping, Mum was still with us then.. and I loved it.

I got up and put bread on this morning so its only got 5 mins to go. Yumm.

MrP said the helicopters were in the kiwifruit fields again this morning, but I only saw heavy dew on the hill behind up.

Ohh excitement, MrPs zinnias have buds on them and the pansies are up. I topped up the potting mix around the mandarin tree and silverbeet so thats looking better.

Right I better get the bread out , I have a list of stuff to work through today.

Have a fab day everyone

Kiwimade so good to have a dog to keep the rabbit population down some days my lawn is covered in rabbits at the moment there are several babies. I spotted a stout the other day which probably explains why my ducks rose and sir Francis have lost all their babies over the last few days they started with 7 and now have none. I got a stoat trap so hope l catch the little brighter.
I have had a few days of feeling blah so last night put Violet to bed at 9 with a movie on and she was asleep in minutes. I went to bed and this morning my cpap clock showed l slept for 9 hours l only woke when Violet came in for a snuggle. Today it is time to clean missys bedroom she collects every little scrap of paper etc to maje bug motels.
I am picking enough strawberries every day for breakfast and loads of NZ spinach for salads.
Enjoy the sunshine ladies l sure will.

Phew, housework done. A lick and a promise only as no point being too fussy while I'm sanding walls.

You need our Jack Russell, huntlygirl. He's taken on a stoat and won. It was the only kill he has bought inside and dumped on the kitchen floor. He was so proud of himself and so he should have been, it was a viscous fight. And yes, that will be why you have sadly lost your ducklings. I hope you catch the little ba*****. And I have fingers crossed your kiwi will be ok if they have chicks.

Cuppa is finished, time to tackle some wallpaper. My plan is to finish the wall I'm working on and sand it when the wall is dry tomorrow. Then there is only one more wall to go.

Morning everyone

Another beautiful day its going to be.

Lets hope we are done with world changing events and that Jacinda and the team can work under as normal circumstances as they can.

Izzys parents brought the second bath around yesterday, Ive propped it up and will start buying compost and potting mix. And my friends nursery do have lose seed potatoes so Ill get some agria ones as we like them best. A very long time since we have grown potatoes. They are already spraying the fields of them up here. They haven't even fully flowered.

MrP is grumpy again and threatening to smash his insulin up again. I knew it would happen. Its hard to get him interested in something to occupy his mind. He cant read, doesnt play cards or anything. I might take him for a drive out to the beach later maybe.

Poor Roly our canary is watching the birds having a feed and trying to get them to answer him back..lol

Have a fab day everyone
