Morning everyone,

Tis the same here Kiwimade, oddly you can tell the wind is cold without going in it lol
I have a woe is me one even more so this morning, he stood too fast and stumbled onto the couch last night, he reckons he broke it. but Im ignoring it at the mo, hes a Marta on top of everything.

I got the squares out yesterday and layed them out. Im going back to my original layout, have to add a row to two of the variegated and have 2 rows left on the last one.. Then I can join it up and do the border.

Id like to do my tree next. Then I might join up the two Santas I knitted in 2018 while I was crook with my surgery.

I was pricing up some garden stakes yesterday, only I forgot that the warehouse probably has them too, so Ill look at their website too. I only need 4. And I thought it might be wise to invest into the plastic coated ones so they might last longer than just one year like Bamboo.

So thats my mission, to sort the price and finish the squares, at least lol

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Lawns mowed, lavenders are planted and weeding pretty much done so I'm happy. I need to have a chat to our nieghbour who is a concrete layer about buying some offcuts of concrete reinforcing wire off him. It makes great supports for climbing roses as it's strong and the squares make it easy to tie the canes up.

Last night was the first night we didn't have the heat pump on. Didn't mention it to MrK lol and he didn't notice so left it off.

Today our daughter and her family move into their own home. They finally managed to buy their first house. So great excitement all round. I have a few plants from the garden to pot up for her and I can finally give her the bits and bobs that she inherited from Mum and Dad. She asked me to hold onto it all until they moved into their own home. I will miss the crystal vase though lol.

Stitching later today, I did a bit yesterday and have the bumblebee's bum, wings and legs to finish. It's only a small piece so won't take long to do.

Coffee is finished, time to get the day started.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
I saw that your Daughter had mentioned the new house. The wall of cupboards and drawers is Awesome. Oddly I like moving furniture but I also like built in lol
Looks like its going to be a fine day and its quite still out there..

Ive finished the squares, Yay and will start joining them up. It wont take too long since there are only 9.. and Ill join then all with white. Then Ill do a 2 or 3 row boarder.. It will be over 1.5 meters square once Im done.

I often walk past two knitting Santa's that I knitted post tummy surgery in 2018 and think I should make them up.. So that Might be the next job. But It will wait a little while, I make a better effort in my painting.

Shopping today, Joy of Joys lol Im going to live long enough that we will swallow a pill as a meal like on The Jetsons lol.

I hope everyone is fine and well

Have a wonderful day everyone

My 22 yr old granddaughter bought a house a few weeks ago they moved in on Sunday then Monday morning she was hit head on and nearly killed. She is home but has limbs in plaster and recovering from surgery she is getting very frustrated that she can't do much. She us facing more surgery and won't be back at work this year.
My grandies learnt how to garden and cook from me and are keen on food production to save money.

morning ladies :) I bet your granddaughter is frustrated, huntlygirl! Was she able to have her furniture etc moved into her new home? I hope her employer is able to keep her job open for when she recovers. I'm all or teaching our kids to cook and grow vegies. I think it's important to know where our food comes from too. We saw lots of people unable to cook during L4 lockdown and having to learn.

MrK is still moping about but he is doing the exercises the physio told him to do twice a day. I'll have to find a handyman to finish the gutters as he has been told by three different doctors now not to climb ladders and I don't do heights.

I finished my bumblebee yesterday and will take a pic later on. I am pleased with it and am thinking of stitching a 'series' of insects. The other day I picked up our grandson's picture from the framers and am happy with the end results.

Housework today and then I can start planning my next insect.

Happy crafting :)

Afternoon everyone.

Ohh Huntlygirl a very hard time for you all over your daughters troubles. Does she have anyone to help put things in their places for her?

I too like seeing kids being taught how to grow food and how to cook it. I still think tho that there is a big chunk of kids that wont have a clue what to do.

I went out this morning and got stakes for the garden from the Junktion, 4 plastic coated , one bamboo and one timber one, but I will replace the bamboo and timber one as I see some more plastic coated ones For the grand sum of $3-50 lol.. The only new gardening things I have brought is the plants, potting mix and the watering can lol

Its cold wet and windy out there.

Ohh its a hard job for us when the males in our lives cant do what they used to, and to see them watch others doing it.. Makes for very grumpy men

Stay safe everyone

Violet and l have planted 100 strawberry plants today all fenced in and.netted with bird net l am determined not to lose them all this year. Last year l worked at the school teaching the garden to table program l am disappointed that l have been unable to do this year. We made some stick guardians to protect our crop as its maori language week. Violet made up a waiata and sang as we installed them she is such a lovely spirited child.

morning ladies :) awwww huntlygirl, what a lovely soul Violet is <3

I am really enjoying Maori language week. I've noticed our news readers and weather people have improved their pronunciation hugely. I was listening to Jeremy Corbet and he was saying they have had a language coach and it was difficult it was for him to hear the language properly but worth the effort to learn.

I've hung out washing, burned the paper rubbish and cleaned up the drawer under the laundry tub. A mouse (damed freeloader!) had made a mess in there so it meant taking everything out and cleaning it.

The neighbour's dog has been over to play with the Furry One and rabbits have been chased. So all is right in our boy's world lol. He had another seizure the other day, only a small one thank goodness. It seems to be one a fortnight.

Our son phoned yesterday to say he was taking redundancy and starting up on his own. It would seem there is a lot of support out there for
start-up' businesses, anything to get the economy moving. So it's now or never for him. The Warehouse are having a huge shakeup with staff so if you are in the Warehouse, please be extra kind to the staff. They are under enormous stress at the moment.

I forgot to take a pic of my bumblebee, will do that later. I'm working on draft drawings of other insects. I'm a bit wobbly with the pencil lol but am getting there. Obviously our daughter didn't get her drawing talent from me!

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

You are a very considerate neighbour Kiwimade, getting the burning done early. What breed is the Neighbours dog?

I slept in the same spot all night last night so very creaky today lol but Ill still vacuum, and I will start joining the blanket to get my hands working.

A good time for your Son Kiwimade, The government are really helping in the small business side of things.. I wish him luck.

We he a little wee bit of sun yay.. Oh and last night I had 10 beans up so it looks like I will have success in the Bath Beans lol

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) The neighbour's dog who visits is a large staffy and can easily jump over our gate (a farm gate). If the Furry One is inside, he comes round to the doggy door and sticks his nose through the flap to tell him he is visiting lol.

I burned the rubbish early as there was no wind and there was time for the smoke to clear before I hung out the washing. So selfish reasons really lol.

It's going to be a lovely day today so I'll find something to do outside. The bluebells are all in flower and look very pretty.

Here's my bumblebee :) It's still in the hoop in this pic.

Morning everyone

Oh Kiwimade he is Beautiful, Awesome Job.. As I hate anything that stings I don't tend to look at them long. I didn't realise they have such detail.

Yep we used to do the same re burning stuff, now we are town rather than country, we recycle. Ive actually used two of the first little recycle bins we started using for Gardens and I have two more if I care to empty them. lol

I planted the not so flash mint and parsley yesterday and both are looking happy this morning. Im going to have a small change around later. Ill move the big tub with the so called daffs that are jonquills and old fashioned violets in, they can go just off the edge of the concrete slab and Ill make a bridge between the two planter boxes for the herbs.

We have the pickled onions to do this morning. Its only a couple of jars.. Last night I used an old recipe from the Women's division of federated farmers or aunt daisy I cant remember a Recipe for uncooked chutney. One tablespoon or marmalade and fine chopped mint. MrP will try it later.

Im going to make some mint sauce too.

I finished the blanket yesterday... Not to much joining when its big squares lol.. I told my friend it was hers and she cried, I told her in future could she please make sure her kids know what her fave colours are.. I asked and they didn't know lol.. Turns out tho that she doesn't really have a fave one lol. Ill take a photo later.
So I will get back into my painting again now. But Ill be listing some stuff on here for my sister in law today.

I made an appointment with MrP last night for tomorrow at 10-32 so he can show me how to use the drop saw.. Then Ill get my friends hubby to drill the holes and Ill paint the ends and anything on the holes that may need it.

Have a fab day all

Good morning all - Kiwimade the bee is stunning - I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders - have sold this house which has been horrible to live in - neighbours don’t get on and it’s been like treading on eggshells - they are divided into groups and it’s been awful as I haven’t wanted to get mixed up in it .Am moving to a lovely Art Deco house with a gate at the back opening out onto a reserve so Ash will love it - I grew up in an Art Deco house and moved back into the family home when we married - this one has been modernised inside but the outside is original - raised garden beds all planted an added bonus
I have just finished a lovely blanket for my sons step daughter who married an Ozzie and they were considering moving here but left it too late - she had her first baby last month - he might be walking before we meet him
Will put a photo up on the Facebook page it’s too complicated putting them on here using my iPad - will also put up a photo of Mums pineapple she had it growing for years - told us she grew it from a pineapple top never knew if that was true !

gerry64 - 2020-09-20 10:57:00

Welcome back Gerry,
Big changes for you, and I agree theres not much worse than living with nasty people all around..
Im sure the blanket will be loved and thank goodness for the internet and being able to keep track of the growing baby etc.

Im feeling accomplished.. I re-arranged the garden again lol. Built a bridge between the two big planter boxes. Sorted a hose out, just a matter of finding it cos I knew we had a shorter peice that was all I needed, Fittings were still on it too. Although I might replace them as I knew we have some new ones.

MrP didn't like the uncooked chutney. Said it was too sweet, I had thought to put a little vinegar in it, but I washed it out instead. Spent 45 minutes finely chopping mint for the mint sauce.. But I like the recipe cos it only make a small batch, I got one pretty jar and a bit in a bowl. And we got two jars of pickled onions for about $1-75 I reckon.
If I make the mint sauce again I will but one of those 2 blade cutter things with the two handles on that you rock lol...

So now I get to list my SILs clothing.. To be honest if it sells Ill be surprised. but at least I only have to type them up once lol.

I might knit later lol

morning ladies :) Thank you for your comments about my bee, I'm happy with it and am thinking of embroidering it onto a cap.

Welcome back gerry. Onwards and upwards I say! Well done on the sale of your home and good luck with moving forward with Ash and your new home. There's nothing worse than having horrible neighbours so I hope you and Ash are very happy where you are going. The new house sounds gorgeous, I love art deco.

MrK has another physio appointment this morning, he's still hobbling about.

Yesterday I pottered about. I was able to cut the ties for a climbing rose that didn't quite reach the framework last summer but does now. I can finally start seeing it's 'shape' on the frame and there are no more ugly pieces of yarn stretched across it. And there were a couple of other plants I had missed pruning so they had a tidy up too.

The bl***y rabbits have eaten all the parsley and the leaves off the broccoli. The Furry One is having a wonderful time chasing them but hasn't caught any in a few days. We did find a dead rabbit behind the water tank and suspect he had caught it but it got away and died. So that's #36 rabbit. He's worth his weight in gold.

Today I'll start another 'mini' embroidery. I found a picture of a dog rose and this will tide me over until I can get my drawings of insects right. While MrK is at physio I'll work on them (he keeps looking over my shoulder while I draw).

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
A cool clear as a bell day here.. and not alot of wind either Yay.

I have to honestly say I have never enjoyed gardening soo much as I am this year. After my little move about yesterday Im very happy with how it all is. And the beans are all reaching up to the sun this morning.

Oh those pesky rabbits Kiwimade, taking a chance coming into your garden too.. The Idiots.. Maybe we should run a sweep stake to see the final Tally for the Furry one for the year lol

This morning Im having my lesson on the Drop saw, oddly Im also excited about that.. The only thing I wont like is the noise, but it wont be a long job.

I will take a photo of the blanket later too. I think Ill go back to my painting, it was hard waiting for it, and now its here I haven't done alot. Mind you I had the garden keeping me busy..

Saw a snail out there last night, I'm not fond of snail bates especially with the number of cats that use our yard as the motorway link to the next house.. So I might resort to salt... but then I wonder if the birds will go for that. Any suggestions welcome.. In the mean time Ill keep a close eye on them.

Right I better check my girls and then be ready for my lesson, I booked the appointment for 10-32.. I find if I do a random time MrP remembers lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Good afternoon - great start organised with spark my fibre shift and gave them the wrong house number !
Popeye look at the photo I put up of mums pineapple on the craft Facebook page - the grandkids used to be amazed it sometimes had two or three pineapples
Had a good clean out of my craft room - my sister went away with bags of little balls - she knits blankets for charity so it’s better they get put to good use .Have started a very intricate blanket for my grandson in his school colours - it’s an optical illusion and it looks as though the middle of the blanket disappears down a vortex - but have put it away until I can concentrate
The problems evidently all started here over parking - really stupid 4 women all crafters should have been able to get along
Having beautiful weather

gerry64 - 2020-09-21 17:53:00
16368

morning ladies :) Another gorgeous day on the way here once the bit of fog clears.

MrK offered to make a frame for my bumblebee and then said he wanted to make a hexagon at some stage. So I had the idea he make the frame hexagon shaped like bee's honeycomb. Then I realised the fabric was too small for that so I'm going to stitch the bee again, but plan it better to suit framing. It wasn't going to be framed, was just a tutu so I wasn't thinking about placement.

Your blanket sounds intriguing, Gerry. Would love to see your progress.

We have a funeral to attend tomorrow, luckily at L1 it doesn't matter about numbers attending.

This evening we are going to watch the first leaders debate, I hope John Campbell can keep them on track and not let them waffle. And I hope they stick to their policies and not take pot shots at each other, I hate the pettiness.

Coffee is finished, time to move and make the most of the day.

happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Will be stunning here today.. There was quite a heavy dew on one of the neighbours to our side, They have a hill.

A hexagon would be awesome for the bee Kiwimade.

Well the Lesson went extremely well. I watched and listened. And MrP didnt get angry like he usually does if I ask what he thinks is a stupid question. He showed me how to alter for the right angle I needed etc... discovered that the slats are not timber, they are plastic lol.. So no painting required. What a mess tho.. But Id cut them and cleaned up with 1 minute to spare before our appointment time lol... I'm keeping that tool lol

I did a prop for the parsley tub. And Painted in the afternoon. Which I really enjoyed.
Pinched my sciatic nerve at 5am this morning. Dammit lol.. First time its done it as bad in this house. So I flung my foot out of bed to stretch it out. It has eased a little. But since I have been soo busy I think my body is telling me to have a couple of days off.
So I should get plenty of painting done.. I will mark the drill holes today too.

Since I couldnt get back to sleep I was up and put bread on at 5-30 lol.. its hit the roof and should be ready in about 5 mins.

I find I dont like hearing the political debates, and generally cos I dont like the presenter lol...

Have a fab day everyone

Good afternoon - lovely day in the bay - have packed ten banana boxes so far - my dog Ash is getting very stressed - told him I won’t be leaving him behind !
Kiwimade I put a photo on your crafty Facebook page of the blanket I have just finished - will put a photo of the one I am working on when I get unpacked - packed all my craft room up so having a break for a day or two

gerry64 - 2020-09-22 14:16:00
16371

morning ladies :) Good luck with the house packing, gerry. Yep, dogs know when things are changing. I had MrK in hospital last week (he's fine now except for his strained muscle) and the Furry One didn't leave my side the whole time. He was stressed to the max and so pleased to see me when I got home from visiting. I'll have another look on FB for your blanket as I couldn't find it yesterday.

Sadly we have a funeral today. She was very ill so is in a better place.

We watched the debate last evening and now I remember why John Campbell frustrates the heck out of me lol.

I don't think I'll be doing much stitching today. MrK has a template all made for the hexagon frame and when I placed it over the bumble bee it looked great. So now I need to find a spot to hang it when it is all finished.

Time to get moving, coffee is finished and washing is on the last spin.

Happy crafting :)

Our Babies know when things are happening like moving.. I thought Missy would be worse than what she was.. what may have helped is that every box I packed we played in too.. Typical cat likes to help lol

Kiwimade we didn't watch the debate, I too cannot stand John Campbell. I hate politics if I'm honest. I don't like seeing people put each other down. Everyone has their own opinion and they shouldn't be slagged off by others who don't agree.

My day of rest wasn't yesterday lol... I ended up tidying up the sewing room..

I will be painting today, my body is in a nasty mood with me today...grrr

I sold one of my sister in laws western dresses on Monday night.. The lady is in Gisborne and is going to use it in a singing competition I think she said, we will be going at Patsy Cline. will need to pack it up and get a price for the courier for her..

Good morning all - another nice day - should just about get all my packing done today except for what I need for the next few days - the shifting men will put it where it’s needed at the new place
After being caught out twice when my husband was packing to go overseas he made sure our little old ginger cat was shut outside while the packing occurred - she piddled in his bag and by the time he arrived in Japan - well you can imagine the smell ! Funny because she was a really clean little cat
I posted the blanket on the same post as the pineapple Kiwibuild- oh the mystery of Facebook
I didn’t watch the debates watched Masterchef instead far more relaxing
I have a bit of a problem one of my neighbours borrowed an expensive crochet hook I have mentioned it several times when she has popped over but she completely ignores the comment - so on my last day I am going over to ask her - if it was just a normal hook I wouldn’t bother but it cost about $30 - shame because she is the best of the bad bunch of neighbours
I sold a knitting book on here Popeye and saved my courier fees hand delivered it the buyer was a few doors away - but it’s great the courier comes and picks parcels up
Better get myself cracking coffee cup is empty

gerry64 - 2020-09-23 10:34:00
16374

morning ladies :) It's raining heavily this morning which is fine as the garden will love it and the rabbits will stay underground.

I suspect maybe your neighbour has lost the hook, gerry, and too embarrassed to say so? Or damaged it? Either way, you do need to ask directly about it. Am glad the packing is being done. Every so often I have a big sort out as I keep thinking, if I die, what will the kids find? lol. It's a sure fire way to keep out the clutter. As for your ginger cat, omg, I'm sorry, but I laughed at this. Your poor husband lol.

It's our granddaughter's seventh birthday today. Can't believe how fast time has flown by. We've had the birthday phone call before she left for school and she was so excited to tell us she has a 'new house and my room is going to be painted'. And nana and poppa, I'm seven today! I love putting the phone on speaker so MrK can join in the conversations too. ANd it saves me repeating everything lol.

Definelty a day for crafting today. I'll trace the mini rose pattern onto a piece of fabric today and have a tutu. It's for nothing in particular but a good pattern to practice some stitches. And I might have another go at my insects.

Happy crafting :)

Good Morning Ladies. It's overcast and rain today. I need to go into town this morning and parking is not good in town, so I just take the bus, it's a five min walk. So far no rain. Spend the last few days in the gardens and will finish hopefully at the w/end. I'm cutting back on the vegie garden. Replacing my herbs and putting them into planter boxes. closer to the house. Finished a baby blanket for a friend who has had their first baby. Just need to block it now. Have to look for out for some curtains for the home office when I go into town. Gerry good to see in here. Good Luck with your move. I did try to ring you, but you must have changed your number. I need to have a cleanout in my craft room as well. Hopefully will get into town Saturday to the market for some new plants. Enjoy your day inside kiwimade and enjoy your stitching. It's good to try out new stitches as well. Have a great day everyone.
Take Care

Good morning - was good to “talk “ about the borrowed hook Kiwimade - not going to sweat the small stuff as my kids keep telling me - whatever will be will be if I get it back that will be good if not I will send for another one it’s a Tulip brand - so kind on my old hands
I am moving back into the Art Deco street of Marewa Sunflower just around the corner from my old place - funny the street is like a horse shoe it changes its name in the middle - we must get together once I get settled -
I gave my sister heaps of little balls of cotton and she has already made wash cloths and bath mats for a charity fund raiser so I am pleased - I also gave her a huge tangled skein of wool - I read that you put a cardboard inner from a toilet roll on your hand electric beater and wound the skein into a ball - my husband tried to tell me it wouldn’t work and it didn’t - it was amazing how quickly it turned into a giant birds nest - of course I panicked and didn’t switch it off - anyway she untangled it
Out into the garage today - actually there are 12 banana boxes still packed from my last shift - maybe that’s telling me something !

Left reasonably early to do the shopping but didnt seem to get home any earlier. lol

Yesterday was a right off but I did get alot of painting done. Not sure if Ill do any today.

We have had a light misty rain all day.. Of course it was a bit heavier when I was packing the boot. lol.

Gerry64, I still have some boxes unpacked too. I really need to be ruthless, it will happen when I don't have someone looking over my shoulder making sure I dont get rid of his stuff.

morning ladies :) lol gerry @ your birds nest! Sometimes we have to learn the hard way.

I think we're having a reprieve weather-wise so have got sheets hanging on the line. MrK has another physio appointment this morning. He cooked dinner last night so I would say he's on the mend.

I had another thought about framing the bumblebee and asked MrK if he could make me a miniature artists easel for it to stand on. He has some stunning totara to use for it all too.

Lawns need mowing again, looks like I'm back into the weekly mow. Better make the most of the break in the weather and get moving.

Morning everyone

Overcast here this morning, and not a bad temp. The monrings have been chilly the last few days.

The easel is a good idea Kiwimade, I have the Painting of the Sloth that Izzys mum did for me sitting on an easel.. I got it years ago and MrP kept asking why I got it.. I simply said Cos I need it for something.. lol

I have to duck up the road for a couple of things that I didn't get in town yesterday, cos I ran out of patience ( rare for me) lol..

Will get some more painting done. I see whiskers forming and I must be close to the nose lol

I have a hankering to make a blanket in browns and tans etc, but dont know anyone that I would give it to.. So Ill keep the thought till I find the right person for it.I have a drawer of a scotch chest full of browns etc. So I wouldnt need to buy any.

We got some containers for MrPs pansys yesterday, I just have to figure where to put them, we had planned on using the fence, but Im not sure it would be the best place, cos they would get in the way of the lawnmowers.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone
Its overcast and very still in our neck of the woods.

Perfect to go and sit at the door of the garage and sand my tree limbs. And MrP is going to take the fronts off the drawers (hopefully) and drill some holes in the bottom. if he can.

Hes still moaning about the couch but I refuse to help him so he cant touch it cos he knows he cant do it by himself.

I painted a fair bit yesterday and realised through the night I have done the Nose, But I cant give it the beauty spot Missy has until I can see the full face to get it in the right position.

Im going to google shortly. theres a few trees over the back from us and Im not sure what they are.. Ive never seen an avocado tree so Im wondering if it is them. Cos I heard they take many many years before they fruit.

Have a fab day everyone

Edit to add.. I was right, that was a good guess cos Ive never seen avocado trees before.. I had heard it can take 20 years to fruit but apparently it can be as early as 3 years 12 years and some never fruit.. Certainly havent seen any on these ones yet

Good morning beautiful day here
Popeye my Mum grew an avocado from a stone - everybody told her it would never fruit - it took 7 years to fruit but grew huge and she could have started a avocado shop. She also grew a macadamia from a stone which fruited. We never took her back past her house as the new owners shopped everything down silk trees camellia rhododendrons- she had the most beautiful tree dahlia I wish I had dug it out - they grassed the whole 1.5 acres - each to their own I guess
I just sold a TV top box whatever that is on Facebook $20 when the lady picked it up she told me she had bought another one $100 - maybe I should have asked the kids what it was
My South Island son and his family are moving up to the North Island which is great news - building a sawmill that will process logs rather than send them overseas as whole logs - so it’s double good news
Better get cracking packing the kitchen today

Good Afternoon Ladies It's a lovely Sunny day here. Phoned a friend to see how she was. About 5 mins off the phone and she phoned. Come on I'll be at your place in 5 mins. So I changed and off we went off for coffee and a lovely fresh muffin than off to a roadside veggie and fruit place. It on edge of town and it's been there for years some time since I'v been there. So will be having alot of salads for lunch and tea. Missed getting my plants, but can wait. I'm a week away from getting a new fireplacbox. It has plate on top to cook on. Yes, Oct can have some wet cold days, so it will great .
Need to move I have to finish some outside jobs while we have a fine day.
Gerry, hope your move goes ok for you. Yes, it is a lovely area you going into and handy to the shops. We need to catchup for a a coffee as well.

morning ladies :) I hope you remembered to put your clocks forward :) A wild, windy day here, perfect for sewing or knitting or painting. It's not cold though, the heat pump has been off for a few days now.

I bet you're keen to have your son and his family in the North Island, gerry. It will be lovely to have them closer.

A fire with a top you can cook on is ideal, sunflowers. We could use one here in the winter, especially with the power cuts we seem to get.

Happy crafting:)

Morning everyone

Shes wild and wooly here too. And very dark.

Ohh it would be lovely to have a fire to cook on.. It just doesnt get cold enough to have one up here. The house we were in , in Putaruru had a kent built in fire, but it also had a chip heater in the kitchen on the wetback, so I cooked on there alot.

We went to the garage yesterday and MrP didnt even have the strength to undo screws, so I took the handle and drawer fronts off. He did manage to drill the holes in the bases tho, but the battery died on the drill lol.
I did my sanding and they have come up well, and thankfully it wasnt as messy as I thought it would be. And I marked the holes that a friends hubby will drill for me.

Yes I moved the clocks forwards, this morning.. I set the alarm to get up and put bread on, and I hadnt changed the bedside clock so it was lying lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning- grey and drizzly but warm here today
Had a chuckle this morning - just before my old boy died he planted Mum and me a pot of Freisias each - I noticed this morning they have finally flowered - reminding me not to forget them !
We had a pot belly with a wet back when the children were little - it was great until one day the pipe that took the water through the pot belly and into the water cylinder burst and flooded the kitchen with water mixed with ash - what a mess
Down to the rats and mice of packing and as I am stuffing unrelated things into boxes I am thinking I am not making unpacking easy for myself .I chose to pack it myself to keep control - the intention was good
Enjoy your day everybody

morning ladies :) I hope you all survived the storm yesterday without too much damage. We lost half of our pompom tree to the wind. It should be all right if I prune it and give it a good feed of fertiliser but it is an odd shape now.

Those freesias were a great reminder, eh, Gerry! Mine are just coming into flower now along with the dutch iris'. And the daffs are still flowering. They must have heard me say last spring if they didn't flower this year they would be gone lol. Last spring they budded and that was it.

Believe it or not I got washing dry outside yesterday. By lunchtime it was windy and the sun was out so thought I'd give it a go. Bought it all in a couple of hours later and it rained within minutes lol.

I'm pottering about with my embroidery, practicing still and trying out different colour combinations. MrK is able to stand longer now so he shouldn't be too far away from making my frame and easel.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

We must have missed the worst of the weather.. There was a gust strong enough to blow the tub with the parsley over, and in the process it tipped the tub with the mint over.. I picked them up put the potting mix back in and they both look well after their rough ride. I swear the zinnias have grown an inch lol,, but they sure haven't suffered with being planted into their forever home lol

I officially opened my 20 kilo of flour late yesterday. And have worked out that we use about a kilo a week, sounds alot but when you think thats on average 2 loaves of bread, I often crumb things, batter for fish etc I dont bake every week but that adds into the average.

We have had a death, lol.. I was using my tablet last night and it simply stopped.. I cant turn it on at all. Annoying cos now if I want to play cards at night I will have to take the lappy to bed.

Hopefully I will get some painting done today, I need too.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone

She's a bit Narley out there again today..

Taking MrP out to get him some new glasses today.. He just uses the shop ones and sadly I cant just pick them up for him lol..

I spent forever on the phone with Spark yesterday sorting out the modem, I have wifi back on my phone, but still having troubles on the e-reader.. and still no life on the tablet. So from now on Ill be taking the lappy to the bedroom at night

Still didnt get to my painting...its frustrating me cos its my own fault. So maybe today.

I have started laying in bed the same way I did in may chairwhen I had my surgery, so far my back and hips is liking it.. Which makes such a difference to my day, and no Oxy for 3 days now yay.

Have a fab day all

Good morning all - sun is shining but the wind is strong and freezing
I have had a marathon with Spark - my new house has Fibre already installed but the earliest Chorus could flick the switch was 23rd October- endless online chats and phone calls later I told them I was going to switch providers and a miracle happened it will be done 10.30 tomorrow - what a waste of their time and mine
Took some cuttings of the very old white daphne that is in the garden here - they may strike hopefully - it is so much more perfumed than the new varieties
I can hardly move around all the boxes - roll on tomorrow

Gerry its amazing how quick they can do things when you threaten to leave. It was worth your time to have it sorted.

Ohh I remember the box problem, not something I would like to do again in a hurry. If I do have to move again Ill be downsizing massively before I do lol

afternoon ladies :) Good on you, gerry, for sticking to your guns. They can do it if they want too.

It's a really blustery day today that's for sure. And the pompom tree had died, so no amount of pruning or fertiliser is going to fix it. I'll let my rose Albertine take over the space for now.

So frustrated at the moment. Spotlight are hopeless with embroidery threads. For six weeks now I've been trying to buy a grey and they haven't had it and now they don't have the crimson I'm using either. Tomorrow I'm going to Tauranga to the Spotlight and Bernina over there. I know the Bernina shop keeps a good stock of threads so will take a list to make the trip worthwhile.

I called in and saw our son today, they hear hear later today who has jobs and who doesn't. He's hoping he doesn't so he can go out on his own.

Time for some embroidery of sorts. Will start another wee project to tide me over until I can buy the thread.

Happy crafting :)

Hi Ladies,Yes! I know it late,I just want to say I hope it fine and everything goes well for you gerry with your move. I'm just glad I 'm not moving. Just think of me tomorrow as I change over to 2degrees. Just hoping it is as easy as everyone says.
I spending the day inside as I try to move this headcold on. Weather here is sunny with lots of high winds. My poor orange tree has a heap of oranges on the ground today. I've pick them up this evening.
Hope you can get your threads for your stitching kiwimade. We have two very good stores that carry the threads.
My lawns get cut in morning and some cleaning up of a garden we had up back of the section. It going into lawn. Have have some lovely heathly veggie plants waiting for me to get well. Friend grows everything from seeds at age of 96. Just maybe some flower plants as well.

That it from me today.

Morning everyone

Two degrees is good Sunflowers, I also like Skinny too. I just wish one of the companys would have plans for low users of the internet, I hate paying for stuff I dont use.

Hope the Move goes well today Gerry.. dont over tire yourself.

Well still no painting, and its my own fault.. I have always enjoyed playing patience, even when I was a kid, and Im just playing them too often now.. Like Until midnight last night. I need to leave the lappy in the lounge unless Im reading.

My tupperware labels arrived yesterday so since the house isnt needing much attention I will be playing in the pantry.. I was googling for quite a while looking up things Id never heard of lol

morning ladies :) It's a stunning day today and just in time for the lawn to be mowed.

I found the thread I needed yesterday and finished stitching a biscornu, a quirky pincushion for when I'm sewing. I'll post a pic later. It's the first time I've made one and was really simple to do.

MrK has his last pyhsio appointment today thank goodness. He's started making the frame for my bumblebee too so that's not too far away from being finished.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Tad chilly this morning but its a beautiful day...

I had fun playing in the pantry yesterday and putting labels on about 20 items, which surprised me and changed a few things around in the containers as well.

I painted YAY.. Im just about right across the bottom. The covering strips are about 12ish cms deep and its 50cms across. I can see whiskers and her nose, and where the base of the whiskers are on the face. Often you can work on an area and not be able to figure out what part of the picture you are doing.

Shopping this morning, then I will paint again.

need to stop at an oppy and grab an old Tshirt to cut up for ties for the Tomatoes. Ive been determined to recycle as much as I can with my gardens.

Hope the Move goes well today Gerry.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Thanks, popeye, I like it :)

I hope your move is going well, gerry. I'm sure it won't take you and Ash long to settle in.

The Furry One caught another rabbit last evening, just in time for his dinner again lol. He bailed it up under the ramp so it had no where to go. This time he didn't eat all of it so I have a small mess to clean up this morning. Our neighbour has shot a few as well. But, rabbits breed like, well, rabbits, so there will be plenty more.

There was no embroidery for me yesterday, I might make another biscornu for our daughter as part of her Christmas present. She has picked up the sewing needle and is building up her embroidery supplies so I am buying her threads over a few weeks to help get her started.

Fog has cleared and another lovely day is here, coffee is finished, so time to get moving.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Good luck for today Gerry.

Wow the Furry one is clocking them up again Kiwimade. Its rather handy that the little fools come through your property for him to get them. Our Foxy boys mum went down a rabbit hole on the farm and never came out sadly. But when our two bred, we gave them one of the girls, so they had had the mother and grand daughter.

Off to get my B12 this morning, thank goodness cos I am drained.

I painted for nearly 2 hours yesterday and really enjoyed it.

I have booked a week of sewing next week, fingers crossed lol.. I still havent finished my aprons lol, they just get pushed further back. But I need to make a couple of summer skirts, and I want to make some wraps for our drink bottles to keep things cold during summer.

Will water my garden when I get home, Im glad I didnt do it last night cos it looked like either a very heavy dew on the neighbours hill, or a light frost.

Have a fab day everyone
