Morning everyone
A bit overcast today but its not too cold. Yesterday was another warmer one, but then I was near the oven.
I baked and enjoyed myself Until I managed to slip on the floor. I didn't hit the floor but man it jars everything.

Off to the Dr's this afternoon, so one could say good timing lol.. I feel like its been months and months since I saw her.

I didnt craft yesterday but will be today. I'm missing it again.. Ill do a small load of washing and hang it on the airer first.. I too need to get my dryer fixed but with lockdown it just got put off again.

I hope we dont stay in level 3 for much longer, its getting annoying lol..

Have a fab day all

Good Morning from Sunny Napier. Yes, we are on a roll at present with this warm sunny weather. Cleaning up my veggie garden over the w/end. My potatoes I have been put into buckets, they could not wait for me to clean the garden. Hopefully fresh new potatoes on my plate. How I missed my fresh potatoes.
Been sewing masks, did 6 over the w/end. A visit from my lawnmower guy along with his daughter with the blanket I knitted. Yes, I got some smiles from her.
Well, it time to move as I have some washing to hang out and have an appointment as well this morning.
Talking about clothes dryers, I have not used one since we came back from The UK and I do not miss it.
Time for me to move and take my bread out and put it on a rake, Fresh bread for lunch today.
Happy Crafting everyone. I have no knitting on my needles just now, so not sure if it will be sewing, weaving, or knitting. Till I make up my mind I will go some coloring in, been sometime since I did any.
Have a great day ladies.

morning ladies :) We've noticed the lovely temperatures you have had in Napier, sunflowers :) Am glad someone has been warm. Another wet day here.

Lol huntlygirl, those fantails are pretty persistent. Hopefully he's catching those spiders!

The blackbirds are busy nest building right outside the living room window so we will be able to follow their babies progress over spring. We've had the male in our garden for a few years now. He has a spot of grey on a wing so we know it's the same bird.

I have a few things to do outside today, the potted daffs are finished so I will move the pot into the garden somewhere, some prunnings need putting away for mulching, just odd jobs. When the weather clears up I'll be back into weeding.

I was embroidering yesterday afternoon during the thunderstorm and managed to stitch quite a few leaves and flowers. It was one of those days where it was good to be home.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Another windy day here, but we havent had too much rain.

I dont really miss the dryer, but I do hope to get it fixed for the future.

Ohh Huntlygirl, they make a terrible sound when they hit the windows dont they. Have the Kiwis made it through your last lot of flooding?

Kiwimade its lovely having resident birds isnt it. We had a mama thrush for quite a few years at the other house. I wonder if she is still there.

Well the drs appointment went well, No hernias thank goodness but she did tell me to be very careful. I obviously hurt it badly cos of the bruising that has come out. It was fair giving gip through the night. It woke me up at 5am so I took an oxy and it eased, but being up and about it has started aching again.
It was funny cos I said to her that I had organised a couple of friends to text me when the Lockdown announcement had happened and she said so had she.. so our phones went at the same time lol.. I usually get a hug when I leave but we couldnt yesterday. She really is a fantastic dr who cares alot.

I painted a fair bit before I left , getting through it quire quickly.. I had an email to say one of my orders was in the country, I got all excited thinking it might be Missy Cat but its some of the christmas presents ,, not bad considering I only ordered them 13 days ago.

I managed to get some pipe cleaners yesterday so Im going to attach those over the weekend. Even tho we may not need them soon.. Although we will still use them in busy areas.

Have an awesome day everyone

My kiwis are in fine fettle judging by the noise the ladt week l think they are near laying an egg.
Had an awful day yesterday my granddaughter was hit head on by a small truck on her way to work she had to be cut out. She has many broken bones and is waiting for surgery due to vivid only her mum and fiancee are allowed to visit. She is 22 and was proud to ring me on Sunday to tell me she had bought a house and was moving in. She will be off work for a while her right arm is smashed and her elbow will need wires. I will go and care for her when she goes home so no one else has to take time off work.

morning ladies :) An egg! Exciting stuff for you and the kiwi, huntlygirl. OMG your poor granddaughter. She's in for a long recovery and I wish her all the best. I hope she is still able to move into her new home. She may also be able to have some home help while she recovers.

I just have to stitch our grandson's name on the embroidery and it's finished so will do that later today. The suns out so will get those jobs done outside I didn't do yesterday first.

Can't get over how warm our home is now, the new insulation has made a huge difference. I went back over the power bills for last winter and we are at least $30 cheaper this winter and that's only with the insulation in for a month or so and not all of winter.

Better move, coffee is finished. Happy birthday for yesterday, kuaka :)

Happy crafting :)

Morning Everyone

How exciting re the kiwi egg Huntlygirl.. Ohh I do hope your grand daughter mends well she has youth as a bonus. Acc should cover homehelp while she mends, but Im sure she will love having you there for support.

Kiwimade we are feeling the same re a properly insulated house. I think we have only used the heater 4-5 times . Our lounge and kitchen is a very large area to heat. but we are also the type to put extra clothes on and a blanket if need be. I havent notice any change in our power bill from summer to winter, but it is cheaper than in the other house, even with my baking.

Today is going to be a crappy day. Our Dr rang yesterday about MrP and she asked did I think he would talk to someone about his not taking insulin so effectively committing suicide slowly.
She spoke to him and he agreed. a lady from the hospital rang and spoke to me about how he is feeling and said a man would ring yesterday and come out today... I told her he needs to make sure he rang and arrived on time, its a pet peeve with MrP when someone says they will do something and doesn't.
He didn't ring so I knew that it would hit the fan this morning. The man rang, no apology about not ringing , but could he come out at 11am, I said ill pass the phone over, he got told not to come.. as I knew he would. I warned them of that yesterday.
Then he texts, he didn't listen to anything MrP said obviously, so I just replied with , this has been discussed. So needless to say MrP is not in a good mood, but thankfully he's not angry with me.
One thing I admire in MrP is his punctuality. If he tells someone a time he means it, or if he is told someone will ring or come at a particular time he expects them to do so.

I started the last variegated square last night.. its such pretty colours I wouldnt mind it myself lol.. But I already have 4 choices of blankest I have made to use lol.. I will then just have striped squares to do.

Have a fab day everyone

Men eh, popeye. I hate being late and others being late too so I can relate to MrP lol.

I've finished the embroidery. I've since washed it and it's drying so I can lace it onto a board for framing. Not the way I planned it but things tend to evolve as I work. Now to start planning my next piece although I've had other ideas since flicking through my favourite embroidery book (dammmm lol).

morning ladies :) What a drama, popeye. And not leaving when asked is just plain rude.

Yes, that's a T Rex (well meant to be, it was much better in my sketch/plan lol) as our grandson adores dinosaurs. So I had to find a way of putting one in the picture and his t shirt seemed the best way.

Lawns need mowing again, spring has sprung as omg the grass is growing fast now. So once this mild frost has cleared I'll get it done. It's supposed to be raining this afternoon so need to be quick about it.

We had three large rabbits nibbling away at the vegie garden yesterday, the Furry One had a ball chasing them. MrK has covered the carrots as they have eaten the green tops and were now digging the carrots up.

The freeloading mouse we've been trying to catch for over two weeks was caught yesterday too. He was a sneaky little thing and set the trap off a few times without being caught.

Time to get cracking and enjoy this sunshine while it lasts. Washing to put on first.

Happy crafting :)

Wow they deleted my message..

Morning everyone,

Looks like a mixed bag of weather again today.

When I was shopping yesterday there was a massive pouring of rain, it could have been hail but I was in Pak n save and you couldnt hear a thing other than the very loud noise of it hitting the roof. Its funny cos everyone was just looking up in wonder lol.. Glad I wasnt out putting the groceries in the car tho, cos your not allowed to take your bags in at the mo.

I got alot of painting done in the afternoon, the race is on cos I opened the Missy one and ohh its going to be beautiful. And its full in your face too which is cool. It has 38416 diamonds, and is 50 by 50 cms.. Cant wait. I know its not exactly like Missy, I call it her Glamour shot, but its close enough for us.
A friend got customs made from photos of their cats, hers are 60 by 40 so we are working in the same amount of numbers and area. Shes starting on the weekend, Ill be a couple of days behind since I have housework to do today.

Today by day is 29 years since we got married, Sunday by Date. And it was certainly alot warmer back then, but it also was sunny and raining too.

I hope everyone is enjoying their crafts

Have a fab day

morning ladies :) A real pea souper of fog outside and I have to go into town. Oh well, will rug up. Housework is done so time for a quick cuppa first.

Hand washing and sanitiser is making it very hard on my hands so I'm going through hand cream like water. I was like this when I worked in the dental clinic too.

Still mulling over my next project as when I went to put on paper my ideas it just didn't sit right. Will have a tutu later today.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

I slept in which is unusual for me, but the temp had dropped so I was snuggly warm lol. I don't actually like sleeping in, it seems to muck my timing up for the rest of the day lol.

I'm getting closer to the end of my picture. Ive got about 1/4 left I guess. so hopefully Ill have it done by tomorrow.
I went through the bags of the Missy one yesterday to make sure I had them all before I put feedback on. One bag has over 8000 black ones lol. and yep its alot bigger than the others.

MrP is slowing down but we have had a lovely couple of days. I got the beef roast out before for our anniversary tomorrow. MrP said we will eat that in one sitting by the time it shrinks lol.. He's eating alot less these days. But Ill be doing the works with Yorkshire pudding as well. He wont have the Yorkshire pudding so I'm considering buying some. What's for tea tonight... lol Pass haven.t though of today yet lol

Its a stunning day out there but chilly

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I hope you and MrP enjoyed your roast beef, popeye. Haven't had roast beef for ages!

The suns out so hopefully we can get outside today. My sister has an antique bedroom mirror for us so I'm hoping to get that from her today. It means a shuffle round of paintings but I think for the better.

Yesterday I planned my next embroidery of a poppy. It's going to have stitches I haven't done before so I'll have a tutu first. I'm debating whether to do it as 'whitework' or in colour, either way it should look nice (I hope lol).
I also laced my last two projects onto boards and took our grandson's picture in to be framed. I found a frame with glass for it so it only needs a mat and the back covered up. The cat picture can be done next, just to spread the cost.

Well that was quick! Suns gone and fogs out, all in the blink of an eye!

Ironing to do today, sigh, while the iron is out I'll starch some fabric for my embroidery. And I need to tidy the spare room where I've been sewing as my sister-in-law will be staying with us sometime this week for a night.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Its fine with a bit of wind today, not that cold.

The roast is in the crockpot, browned nicely. It will be torture smelling it all day lol. I did buy the yorkshire pudding in the end. Means I can throw one in when the roastys are all but done. Rather than turning the big oven on...

29 years today.. and the Climate change people are wrong lol.. It was warmer back then lol.

I finished the beach scene late yesterday, so I will start Missy cat today.. Ive decided that I'm not doing anything but tea and the rubbish today.. so ill paint my little heart out. Although I have to pack up the left over diamonds from the beach one. Missy has 45 colours so it will take a while to set up, but its a part i like, much like ribbing and sewing up in knitting lol

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning everyone,

Had a nice relaxing day yesterday... tea was Wonderful, nearly forgot the yorkshire puddings, they were really light but still yummy. Theres a bit of meat left over so Ill let MrP have that and Ill have sausages with lashings of gravy lol.

It took close to 3 hours to pack down and pack up the diamonds for Missys picture.. I started and was soo crooked I thought What have I done lol.. Squares feel alot smaller and have to be straight or it looks disastrous , but 10 minutes later I was back in my groove. It sure wont be a quick painting, but Im going to love watching it evolve.

Yay out of lockdown 3, I will be going up to mitre10 to get some light bulbs, odd ones that are in our bedside lights.. Ill get a couple, cos Im bound to get one for MrPs light and mine will blow lol.

Cant believe its the first day of spring tomorrow, the year is going soo fast. Its my cousins birthday tomorrow, her mum did well 1st sept and 1st Jan for her son lol

Have a fab day everyone...

morning ladies (just lol). Happy anniversary for yesterday, popeye.

I've been pottering about outside in the garden, MrK trimmed back some of the cabbage tree. I know there are some who don't like cabbage trees but I like it's shape in the garden.

I'm stitching the poppy in white and using different stitches to add texture. Will see how it turns out, have unpicked it once already.

Happy crafting :)

Afternoon everyone,

Have had a nice busy morning, and have enjoyed it... And we finally had our lawn done.. you watch, now it will grow like crazy lol.

I plan on painting this afternoon. I need to give up the cards lol.. For some silly reason Im getting the hives, same place, while Im painting... I really have no idea why now lol.. I never used to. It annoys me some, cos Im simply enjoying my crafts and that happens..lol

I sorted some stuff out, things Ive gathered to use for crafts, and will offer it on FB, kids will no doubt have fun using it. I like to recycle like that.

I made the worst loaf of bread ever this morning, I have no idea why it happened but there's just enough for lunch lol.

I hope everyone is having an awesome day

popeye333 - 2020-09-01 12:26:00
16321

morning ladies :) It was a very busy day yesterday and I even managed to dodge the raindrops. I had also had a quick tidy up of crafting stuff the other day and gave stuff I will never use to one of my sister's work colleagues who runs a craft group.

Today if the weather plays nice, I need to do some weeding and feed the roses. Will also run the vacum over the floor for my sister-in-law's visit tomorrow.

The Furry One has been very quiet over the last few days and seems to be a bit grumpier. Mind you, I would be too if I was having these damed seizures. He's had four over six weeks now.

Coffees finished, time to move.

Happy crafting :)

kiwimade64 - 2020-09-02 07:28:00

Morning everyone

I have found a place to give my crafty stuff to. A friends friend runs Girl Guides here ( I didn't even know we had one) so Ill be able to off load alot of stuff to her. She's already getting 87 eclipse mint tins.. I didn't notice till yesterday that some of them aren't sugar free, so are.. oops... Oh well cant take them off MrP now lol.

Im in two minds, I want to sort out more craft stuff, but I also want to start putting some of the branches into the wool sack I got from our lawn mowing people yesterday. I plan to hack away some more yukka too. And I want to gently dig up the mint and parsley and put them in pots, then dig out all the stupid spider plants.. I might enquire as to how much rocks are and see if I could spread them around to at least make the yukka and other cactus type thing look better lol.
So perhaps I should work outside while its fine.

I did quite a bit of painting yesterday, even noticed some whiskers forming lol.

The bread has hit the roof of the machine this morning, not sure what happened yesterday. So once again its smelling yummy in here.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) awww huntlygirl <3, it's horrible to watch isn't it. Our boy is on Pexion, it was a brand new epilepsy drug for dogs when he started and much kinder on his kidneys and body. Costs an arm and a leg but so was the other drug by the time we factored in regular blood tests. With this drug he doesn't need the bloods done. He perked up yesterday as we were both outside and he loves being outside with us.

My sister-in-law is staying the night so I thought I'd make a lemon meringue pie. We have tons of lemons and the bottom of the tree needs pruning so I can mow easily underneath. MrK said he will prune for me (I think he's worried about how hard I will cut it back lol).

I planted delphiniums and some other plants yesterday and have given up on the daphne I moved so pulled it out.

Embroidery later on if I have time, might have to lag it today.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone,

So hard on the babies and family when the babies arent well.

I attacked the trimmed trees and Yukkas yesterday. Only 11 cuts on my hands and arms, I will have to get some gardening gloves I think. Viscous things they are. I have filled the wool sack already and still have one huge limb to get rid of, and I want to hit the ones in the corners of the section too.
It was nice to be outside tho.

Its clear as a bell here, the temp has dropped and it is chilly. There's wind too so I imagine its going to be cold out there.
I have alot to do in town today, thankfully alot of it is in the warehouse, so that's handy. Hopefully the wheelchair will be free for MrP.

I didnt paint yesterday, just sort of floating timewise at the mo.

Afternoon everyone.

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Its a lovely day here today, Ive planted tomato seedlings this morning. And housework has taken up the rest of the day so far.

Hoping to craft this afternoon, but I suspect it wont be making anything, but packing a box full of stuff to give to the Girl Guides.

I see TM is having a sell for free $1 reserve weekend, so I might even get some things listed. Stuff that I might as well try and sell, rather than giving them away.

I had a strange happening yesterday. Years ago a jeweler told me my eternity ring wasn't safe to wear cos some of the clasps were worn down. So I never wore it since.
I decided I would sell my Enid Blyton books on here and get the ring fixed. So took it to a different jeweler who said there was nothing wrong with it and its very safe to wear.
I was so pleased that I can now wear it safely, but I am a bit annoyed cos all of that time I could have been wearing it, and to think that the jeweler that we had done alot of business with was obviously "Job" hunting like some mechanics do. Of course that might be why she no longer has her business going.
But I'm so excited to be able to wear it safely, and it will be my "Summer" ring for when my fingers swell too much for my trio of rings.

Have a wonderful day everyone..

morning ladies :) I've had a busy few days with MrK's sister and her hospital appointments. But the weather has been stunning and I did manage to sneak in an hour in the garden yesterday afternoon after she went home.

It's overcast this morning but I need to weed along the roadside, the iris' have disappeared under the weeds lol. It's easy to neglect this garden as we don't see it during the day. So before it rains, I'll get it done.

That's good news about your ring, popeye. Always pays to have a second opinion.

Crafting later, I'm still having a tutu with the poppy. It's a bit rough but then I am still learning the stitches.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Yes overcast here too.. I have enjoyed the last few stunning days. I got some lettuce seedling yesterday ( including the oak leaf ones Yay) so I will plant those out at some stage today or tomorrow morning... I guess I should buy some snail pellets, but I havent seen any around the back where the garden is, yet. lol

We got a new and used 2 seater couch at the junktion yesterday. MrP has been moaning for ages to get one. So we had it delivered, i have to advertise the other one later , free to pick up so I can get the new one in.

I also got a piece of plain pretty pink satin fabric. $3 for the piece, MrP asked why was I getting it.. I said cos I will need it when the idea pop into my head lol Its 4 meters long.. I looked on spotlight last night and the cheapest they had was $9 a meter so it was worth getting.

Im going to lay out what will end up being my wooden Christmas tree later hopefully. MrP is going to teach me how to use the drop saw so I can cut it to length. Its a white wooden venetian blind I pulled apart. I will have to paint the ends that I cut, then I will decide how the beads and ribbons will go in between the slats.

Have an awesome day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. Lovely sunny day here in The Bay. Busy getting my veggie garden cleaned up so I can get some plants at the market next weekend. A good way to buy. You pick out how many plants you want.50c a plant. My flower garden not to bad just now. Parts need cleaning up as the bulbs are just about over.
I finished sewing up a little jacket that my friend's mother had knitted. Just sewn up 4 bags made out of a woolen blanket. I dyed two lengths and pleased with the colours. A friend got me to do them for her. They are part of her Christmas gifts. Need to replace my nets in the bedroom. as these windows face the road

That was a good buy of 9 meters of fabric Popeye. We need something like that here in Napier as a lot of goods going into landfill. here.

There is always something to do in our gardens kiwimade. Hope your sister is ok Kiwimade.
Well, ladies have a great weekend I'm going later for a walk with a friend and a coffee. We will pick up some fresh fruit and veggies at some of the roadside stores.

morning ladies :) A damp day today, misty more than anything. We could use the rain though, the ground is very dry.

Yesterday I weeded along the fenceline and decided to plant lavenders between the roses and dahlias. Worked out I need around a dozen lavenders plus another three to replace the old woody ones in the rest of the garden. They should attract the bees and I am really hoping rabbits don't like the taste. The rose I am growing from a cutting is streaking ahead and it's going to eventually climb over the fence where the rabbits sneak in.

My sister-in-law will be fine, thanks, sunflowers, once she has her surgery. Thanks to Covid, there is quite a backlog before she can have her turn though.

I think today we are going to my sister's home to hang her pictures and mirror. MrK needs to make a cleat for the mirror so it hangs flat against the wall. She's been waiting a year for the handyman to come and do it and is fed up waiting.

Fathers Day today and two years this month since dad passed away. So happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there.

I'll hopefully get some embroidery done today, still pottering about with the poppy. The picture for our grandson is at the framers and the frame I had can easily be used so a few $$ saved there.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone,
A bit dull out there here too.. Not sure what will happen with it.

I got quite a bit of gardening done yesterday.. We now have lettuce, tomatoes, and beans in, plus the silver beet and rhubarb. Im very pleased and it is soo much easier not having to lean right to the ground.. And the bonus is we can see it all. In the last house MrP could only see a small part of the garden from the dining room window, cos the ground had a short hill to go down to get to it.

This morning its doing the toenails etc for MrP. Im amazed at how the older a person gets the tougher the nails get lol.

Then Im going into the sewing room for a clear out for the Girl Guides.. Im always picking up crafty stuff but its time to have a clear out

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) It's raining, just gently, so perfect for the garden.

MrK planted his first tomatoes the other day so we are looking forward to those. The tomatoes he put on the front door step to grow over winter have tomatoes growing and ready for picking! So I guess we can say we can grow tomatoes over winter here.

Not sure what I'll get up to today, if the weather clears up I'll get some more weeding done. Not that there are many weeds as I keep on top of that over winter so there aren't that many to self seed in spring.

I finished the poppy and it's a bit rough around the edges but I half expected that as there are new stitches. I might have a play around with something else, I have a few ideas rattling around.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Overcast here today, we have had rain overnight. The plants are all looking healthy after their transition into containers. Its really nice being able to open the blinds and see everything growing.

I potted around yesterday sorting stuff out for the guides. And sorting buttons for them got me into sorting out more of those. When I was a kid I loved playing in Mums button box, so they have always been something I enjoy "Playing" with lol. I'm also still very noisy in the pot cupboard and drawer lol

Last night I drew a plan for my venetian blind tree. And Ive sorted the beads for between each slat. It will be just under a meter once put together.
I will mark out the slats later for cutting, MrP is going to show me how to use the drop saw, and I'll ask around for someone who has a drill press to drill the 50 odd holes lol.. I'm not good with the hand held drill, My hands are too weak to hold it in place. Kiwimade I'm going to glue on some of the diamonds you sent me on the top.

Ohh I keep forgetting to say, Roly our Canary is finally getting his song back, he's not quite 100% but not far off either.. Yay.

Have a wonderful day everyone

Popeye l never got on with my mother but my favourite memory was playing in her button box so when l cleaned out her house when she died that was the first thing l put in the car.
I have been out planting as well l have some strawberry plants in a lovely sunny spot and have fruit almost ready to eat l lost most to the ducks last year so have got them fenced and netted.
No canary around here but l get a daily visit from a flock of parrots you hear their chatter before they swoop to eat the fruit l leave out. The tuis sit in the distance and scold them. Mrs tui sounds like a fishwife and often goes ranting at Mr tui it is so funny to watch.

morning ladies :) hahaha huntlygirl, tui are soooo possessive of their territory! They know a good thing when they see it :)

Am glad you found a use for those diamond thingys, popeye.

The suns out so I'll wait for the frost to clear before I start weeding. There are some dock plants that need digging out. They came into the garden from the horse poo I think. Usually I put the horse poo through the compost to kill any weeds but I think this time it went directly into a pot and when the plants were finished in the pot, it was emptied directly onto the garden. A lesson learned!

I need to overlock some fabric for embroidery so will do that this afternoon. I have an idea but need to tutu first. I don't mind pottering about practicing the stitches while ideas stew.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Your right about the Tuis territory Kiwimade, the Side of hour house is the tuis domain, the sparrows etc are allowed on the grass but not the trees.

The back is where we feed the seed cakes and any left over bread and thats a mix of Sparrows, Mynas and my Fave the wax eyes.

Well we got the underneath of the couch sorted.. I even "Fixed" my staple gun, I threw it on the floor, lol. Its the most infuriating tool I have. Can only take an inch of staples and it always jams.. So I threw it on the floor and it was fine after that lol.. Obviously likes the rough treatment lol. I dont often loose my cool with tools.

Today I will go down and stitch together the two bits of Fabric I used to enclose the back. Finally I have a use for those half circle sewing needles lol.

No frost here but it did get chilly at 6am. Missy climbed on me, which she hasnt done for a few days, shes been sleeping in the crook on my knees behind me.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) A double whammy this morning, a frost and fog. The sun is breaking through though.

MrK is feeling sorry for himself as he pulled a leg muscle yesterday while cleaning out the gutters.

Once I have the washing out, I'll get back to the weeding. I dug out the dock weeds yesterday and then dug out huge clumps of grape hyacinths around the base of our big tree. It looks so much better without them there. I want to plant a native clematis under the tree. In the past I haven't had much luck growing the native clematis but I think I have the perfect spot for it now. Fingers crossed!

I haven't done much embroidery over the last few days as I just can't seem to settle on one thing.

Coffee is finished, washing is almost done so time to move.

happy crafting :)

morning ladies :) Yesterday was dad's second anniversary (can't believe he's been gone two years) so my sister and I are having lunch together and then visiting the cemetery.

We've had some beautiful days here, spring has well and truely sprung. While in Hamilton the other day, I visited a garden center (not one to miss the chance lol) and spotted a climbing rose on my 'need' list. So Crepsecule is planted against the fence in the 'new' garden. It's a soft apricot colour so should look pretty and fills in a blank spot.

I've started a small embroidery of a bumblebee, not my pattern, but has a few varieties of stitches for me to practice.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Wow it doesnt feel like two years already Kiwimade. Nice day to go visit him.

Well I got rid of our couch in 10 minutes after posting it. And the people that came and got it, and they moved our one up to the lounge for us. MrP has promptly broken it. So I gave him the choice to sit on a pillow on it or to actually use the lifting chair that I got him at least two years ago and has only used it 5 times max, and thats being generous. So Im changing furniture around.. I may send him to bed to get him out of the way, and more from him telling me what to do or how to do it lol.. Ive been moving furniture since I was a kid lol.

I havent done any craft for several days and Im starting to miss it too. So maybe Ill crochet this afternoon to relax.

In the future, once Ive had the couch fixed Im going to crochet covers for it, and I cant help myself , I want to do it is 70s retro Orange red, brown and yellow lol... But I dont just want to do granny squares, so Im going to try and learn a different pattern.

Our veges are all growing nicely.. I get immense joy opening the blinds at the ranch slider and seeing them all looking fresh and green...

Have a fab day everone

I am loving this spring weather we have been out fishing this morning caught 2 but put them back. My vege garden is all planted and looking good. I got a great bargain at the hospice shop yesterday my bed was 25 years old and it was very uncomfortable so l saw they had an electric bed for $400 it is in perfect condition l have wanted ine for ages but couldn't afford $2000+. I had a good sleep and woke up without pain in my hips and shoulders. Usually l would have to take codeine before l got up.

Oh thats awesome Huntlygirl.

I suspect one would help me alot too.. This morning I took an oxy before I got out of bed, cos I was so sore and knew that I would be moving furniture around. Im finished now and still feeling pretty good.

A play on here and then I may crochet I think.. or paint

morning ladies :) What a bargain, huntlygirl! We were told by our doctor you should replace your bed/mattress every ten years. My back was soo sore from our bed and even MrK was getting creaky so we replaced it last August. Was the best $$$ we had spent for years.

Overcast today and it's supposed to rain off and on so I'm getting outside to do more weeding. Yes, popeye, there is real satisfaction and joy in seeing things grow and knowing exactly what you are eating.

I'll do some embroidery this afternoon as no doubt it will be raining.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Its overcast here today too. I was going to water the plants but dont think I will need to.
I got the furniture rearranged, I enjoy doing that.. Just need to put something behind my chair to stop is sliding back, I like to have the extra click to raise my feet a little lol.
Then I started sorting through the pantry for expired stuff and swapping containers a bit to have it sorted again.. And yep I enjoy that but I cannot stand a unorganized pantry or fridge.

So I didnt get any craft done, but the good thing is , its always there lol.. The sewing room needs a good sort out again, thats my dumping ground lol..
I should make an appointment with MrP for the lesson on using the drop saw, then I can paint the cut ends.. Ill make that my mission for the week.

Have a fab day everyone

For the first time I many years l slept 7 hours last night my bed is so comfortable and it is refreshing not to be in pain when l wake up. It has a memory foam mattress and l got a sheepskin mattress protector. Violet is upset that there is not room for her as well but it is nice not to have a wriggle with cold feet arrive in my bed in the middle of the night. Am dreading going camping in december as l just have an air mattress on the floor l will probably just go for a rew days. We are heading to the Waikato in the school holidays to visit my granddaughter who is recovering after her car crash. I don't love driving that far anymore so will take a few stops. Still lovely and sunny here and the lawns are getting very long our mower man seems to have disappeared.

morning ladies :) A bit overcast this morning but the sun is coming through. That's great about your bed, huntlygirl. We felt the same with our new bed as well. Nothing like a good nights sleep. The only issue I have is it's quite a bit higher than our old bed lol. My feet dangle when sitting on the side lol. And the Furry One has to jump that bit higher - not that that was an issue for him!

The Furry One caught another rabbit last evening, right on his dinner time lol. Perfect timing for him (not the rabbit :P). So I think that is #33. He had been trying all day to catch one.

I am going to do more weeding today, there's not much, just small, fiddly weeds. And the poppies have scattered so I need to make sure there is room for other plants to grow.

Didn't pick up my embroidery yesterday as I was busy pottering about. I should be able to do more this afternoon. I have stitched the bee's head and part of the yellow/black stripes. It's just a practice piece but I have some ideas where it could be stitched eventually.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Wow Huntlygirl what an awesome find.. We need new ones, well I should say I do. Mine is a little lower than normal, but MrPs is high cos its on a very old set of bed ends that came to NZ from Rarotonga in the 70s.

I pottered most of the day yesterday, going through the freezers, well 3 of them to get rid of some veges that have been in there far too long and re packing to make room for the meat in December..
Had just sat and had lunch and was online when MrP had a hissy over the chairs etc, but I changed it again and he is ok again now. I think Id handle a moody teenager better lol

Hopefully I will get some crafting done today, I havent really missed it since Ive been busy anyway.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) A wet day today but we need the rain so no complaints here.

I had a call rom my framer yesterday and our grandson's picture is ready to be picked up. So I'll do that today and drop off the cat I stitched at the same time. This way the cost is split.

I have one more garden to weed as well as around the baseboards of the house and lawns to mow but that can wait until tomorrow. Our plum trees have blossoms on them and the bluebells are flowering. And I'm sneezing lol, three signs spring is here.

Embroidery later this afternoon. If it's still raining we can catch up with Wentworth on demand before this weeks episode.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
It has rained here too, but Il still have to water the plants under the eaves, they dont quite get the rain.

Kiwimade is it expensive to have things framed properly, I have a few things Id love to have done well.

We Love Wentworth , it is at the top of my favourites along with Homicide Hunter.. I actually like the viciousness of the ladies, and the Amazing acting in it.

I found a new online game yesterday, a spelling one, so I spent too long playing that. Ive always loved scrabble and other word games.

I finally crocheted last night. I have 2 rounds to go on the last variegated square, then only striped ones to go.. Slow progress but its not her birthday till August lol.

I overhaled the plastic draw yesterday, went to stand up and oops everything locked lol... Thankfully I managed to stand up.. hasnt done that for ages .

Am cutting MrPs hair and beard today , I hope he can stay awake long enough lol.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Suns out but the wind has some bite to it. Yesterday I bought the lavender plants to replace the old ones so will plant them today.

MrK is feeling sorry for himself as he's pulled a muscle, he's off to physio this afternoon. What is it with men and the 'woe is me' attitude. While he's at physio, I'll do some embroidery.

Time to move, the day is marching on.

Happy crafting :)
