I reckon you can never have too much wool either

| Morning ladies, well you wouldn't believe it but we had a message from the council yesterday lunchtime asking us to conserve water, because the water treatment plant was swamped with debris from the river and one of the pumps was under water and couldn't cope - or something along those lines. I thought "flipping heck - I've never seen so much water and they are asking us to conserve it". Ridiculous. It is still raining but very light this morning. I've decided I'm going to nip to the supermarket for a few bits, and then possibly sew this afternoon. If it ever stops raining I will try to plant my plants before they die. Talking to my son yesterday, he hopes to visit shortly for a few days and he will give me a hand to do a few jobs outside for me that I can't manage on my own so that will be good. I always enjoy his company but puss doesn't enjoy the company of his dog - but she is slowly getting used to him. If they visited more regularly she would accept him more readily, but he has a busy life to lead. We keep in touch regularly but don't see each other as often as we would like. Oh well, at least these days communications are easier. We video call, even if sometimes he has a good view of the side of my head at first because I haven't realised it's a video call. Yesterday I cursed because I couldn't get my phone to charge, I tried several different chargers with the same result - nothing. Eventually I figured out that the multi-socket thingy which is on the floor beside my armchair had come out from the wall socket and I didn't realise because the standard lamp which is beside my chair was still working and I thought that was plugged into the multi-thing too, but it was plugged directly into the double socket on the wall. I had visions of needing to buy a new charger or a new phone, so that was a relief. Right, time to get moving. Oh no, the rain is getting heavier again. Stay warm and dry everyone. kuaka - 2020-07-19 11:34:00 |
| I am confined to home because the big culvert in the drive has collapsed the drive is 700 metres long and it is in the middle hoping that it is done tomorrow so l can get Violet back to school on Tuesday. I am hoping my kiwis are alright they nest between my house and the river and l haven't heard them since Thursday. huntlygirl - 2020-07-19 17:11:00 |
| Morning everyone Oh Huntly girl hoping everything is fixed for you today.. And that the kiwis are just staying tucked up warm. A beautiful clear day today, but a tad chilly. I have 3 rows of squares joined, so only have to join the rows, then join the two pieces up... Then Ill see how much wool I have of each other to do a border.. I'm thinking quite a wide one would be good to add some size. I'm considering doing a blue blanket for another of my sister friends.. Saw the girls last night and they were looking forward to going back to school today, I do wonder how Izzy was this morning tho lol. Was talking to my brother last night, hes up in Russel and they are safe and well Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-20 09:27:00 |
| morning ladies :) If it's not drought, it's floods. I really feel for those of you living in the North and huntlygrl, I'm hoping too your kiwi are ok. That's a pretty big culvert to collapse. Yesterday we were in Rotorua and I was helping MrK's sister with her garden along with another sister-in-law. Between the three of us we got quite a bit done and were finishing up for the day as it started to rain. I think we broke the back of it all and I've offered to go back if need be. Our son is one of the Warehouse staff who will need to reapply for his job, a worrying time for us but he doesn't seem too concerned. He's practical and can see why there needs to be changes. He's also flexible with his time so can work whenever which is pretty much what they want. You can see the Matariki stars from our bedroom window in the wee hours, they are so bright and really stand out in the sky. Makes getting up for the loo worth the effort lol. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-21 07:43:00 |
| Morning everyone I have the blanket joined Yay.. and did half a round of border.. That took 40 minutes so its obviously bigger than I thought it was lol.. But never mind, I'm only putting 1 round each of the colours. I have to pop up the road this morning, I miscounted, well I thought wrong on Missy's Puree kisses and god forbid should she not have one for her breakfast on Thursday lol.. MrP wants the elastic piece on the bottom of his jammies taken off so I'Il try and get that done this morning, so I can crochet in the afternoon. I showed my brother some photos taken on our parents wedding day today, cos there were a couple of men who I didn't know who they were, and a sneaky dominance thing from my grandmother. Turns out the eldest gentleman was my great Uncle on dads side, he was there representing my Grandfather. As my grandparents hadn't long been divorce. I didn't even know that grandad had a brother. And Ive yet to confirm but think the other man could be my eldest cousins father cos Ive never known him.. Kiwimade, handy that your son is adaptable and single which helps too.. Fingers crossed for him Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-21 09:20:00 |
| morning ladies :) Suns out for a change, hopefully it will stay out. I have some miniature daffodils to plant today, they are flowering but are squished in really tight in a teeny tiny pot. I bought them yesterday from the supermarket (you have probably seen them there). If I loose the flowers, too bad, they will come away next year. The neighbour's pup has been visiting our boy, as much as we love her, she needs to learn she can only visit with her owner. It will happen over time and we just have to be consistent. And The Furry One also invites the dog across the road to visit lol, he's a staffy and can easily jump our gate from a sitting position. Two more sleeps and our house insulation is being done. Can't wait to tick that off the house to-do list. Hopefully I can do some stitching today, haven't touched it for a few days now. I have some ideas kicking around in my head for new projects so want to get this one done. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-22 08:24:00 |
| Morning everyone I have finished the blanket, barring sewing in the ends of the border I did last night. Got to being 25 minutes each side in the end. But it would have been alot quicker if I hadnt have to have bunched it up on my lap between my chin and Missy lol. Ill take a photo later... Ill put it on here cos I dont want the person getting it to see it.. Although I am considering giving it to her early or she will have to wait 6 months to use it lol. Im going to stash dive later and see what colours I have. I do have some of those 400 gram balls from the warehouse that Ive had for ages so will see what colours are there. I want bright not dark like Ive just done. IM thinking I might make several larger squares then join them together, well thats what came into my head in the middle of the night. I do tend to have creative times in my sleep lol Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-22 09:11:00 |
| morning ladies :) I have a few pots and a large piece of driftwood to move today so the guys can get under the house tomorrow for the insulation. Looks like rain again so will get that done pronto. My new Kobo arrived yesterday and after a few glitches I got it going again. Everything I had on my old Kobo was suddenly back on my new one. Didn't even have to change the order of things thanks to the memory chip I use. I was dreading having to manually put everything back. One more book from the library to finish then I can finish the book I was reading on my Kobo before it died. Better get cracking, it will rain soon and I need to get the outdoor stuff done. Crafting later all going well. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-23 08:13:00 |
| Morning everyone. Windy and wet here too, and the helicopter is out here so I hope there wasnt an accident.. Ta-Da https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1369782891.jpg The blue looks purple for some reason, buts its a dark Navy. I started a new blanket yesterday, but have realised I wont have enough of the varigated colour, But I might make a change to the design and still have enough. I want it to look like the ocean, but I think Ill use one of the plain colours to put like a "Frame" around the varigated so I have enough to do the four panels I want to do. Thankfully undoing and redoing doesnt take long with crochet. Shopping as usual today, arghh Id be quite happy to stay home lol.. Kiwimade I "Brought" 51 new books at amazon last week but for some reason my e-reader isnt connecting to the internet.. Im pretty sure Ive brought some earlier in the year.. I am normally very good at writing passwords down but for some reason didnt with the modem here. So Im going to have to keep guessing. Cos some of them I really want to read, like Now lol.. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-23 08:41:00 |
| Lovely blanket popeye also what color are you after as I have loads of the warehouse varigated in the large balls and the 50gram ones I've been having a de-stash as lately acrylic yarn has been making my fingers flair up never had this happen before. lindyloue - 2020-07-23 16:00:00 |
| Lovely blanket popeye. Try the number printed on your modem as your pw. That's what our one is. mica3 - 2020-07-23 16:41:00 |
| That sad thing is Lindyloue is there isnt a lable on this varigated ball.. Its a 300 gram ball which has a pale green, blue and white .. Ill take a photo tomorrrow and post it.. Thank you.. Mica I had forgotten that so will write it down and try it when I have finished the book Im reading now. Its a fast read so should only be another 2-3 nights.. Thanks popeye333 - 2020-07-23 18:22:00 |
| morning ladies :) Lovely blanket, popeye, well done! How frustrating re your password. There must be a way to change it. I don't use a password on my kobo as I don't have my credit card details stored on it. The insulation people should be here shortly, can't wait to have that done. It will make a real difference to the house. Yesterday I trimmed all the grass edges, repotted some plants and moved pots around so the spring bulbs could be seen (I have them in pots so they can be tucked away at the back of the garden when finished). I was going to mow but MrK said to leave it until the guys have done the insulation as they will no doubt have their truck on the lawn. Makes sense as it will be less damage to the lawn. Better get moving, they should be here shortly. Crafting later today. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-24 08:32:00 |
| Morning everyone Yes it is annoying, and once I finished the book I was reading last night I thought right I have the numbers lets do this.. 12-10am I gave up lol and just for an added bonus Ive managed to somehow take my mobile off the wi-fi as well.. lol.. Im not too worried about the mobile cos I seldom use it on the internet, usually if we are watching something on tv and want to see if someone has been in another show or the age of people etc. So I can do that on the mobile data. You will notice the difference instantly Kiwimade.. when they topped up the other place we felt it straight away. I didnt crochet last night, just wasnt in the mood lol Housework today ick lol... Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-24 09:13:00 |
| A factory reset might be the way to go, popeye. At least then you will be able to access everything again. So the guys are here and the ceiling is done, they are under the house doing the underfloor bit now. Really nice guys too. MrK made them a cuppa lol, good old fashioned hospitality. Had to ask them to zip their bags as the Furry One was very interested in their lunch! But once told to leave it, he ignored them. Housework is done, was easy to work around them and half of the lawn mowed. Will wait until they go to mow the rest. So a very productive morning. Windows open and washing on the line, but not for much longer I think. The boys just might squeak in the underfloor stuff before it rains. kiwimade64 - 2020-07-24 11:38:00 |

| Afternoon ladies, well the sun has been out but big black rain clouds building up over the ranges. lindyloue - 2020-07-24 14:31:00 |

Ohh Lindy that would be wonderful.... Tomorrow they have 50% off success fees so if you could do a listing I will happily pay for and pay for postage.. I am wondering if you are in the FB group that Kiwimade set up, I havent looked for a while. Thanks popeye333 - 2020-07-24 18:23:00 |
| I have spent all afternoon trying to get the kindle and my phone to connect up. The kindle does but as soon as I go to do it, it says I need to register it, which Ive done dozens of times.. So it is now reset with absolutely no books on it. The wool sat their waiting to be picked up, but that didnt happen lol.. Just as well I prepped teat earlier lol popeye333 - 2020-07-24 18:26:00 |
| morning ladies :) Ohh buggar popeye. Have you saved your books anywhere so they can be uploaded to your kindle? My Kobo has a memory chip (thank goodness I have one) so my books were all saved and could be put back on in a flash as not all my books came from their website. And the Kobo book site has also saved all the books I bought from them in 'my library' so they are always there. I have a few loads of washing to do then I'm going to start weeding the garden. Spring has sprung here and if I can keep on top of the weeds before they flower and seed then it makes summer easier. I squeaked in with the lawn mowing yesterday too. The house feels warmer already. We noticed last night how much drier it felt so money well spent on the insulation. It took three guys five hours to do it. It's like the house is wrapped in a blanket. I will try again to do some crafting today, didn't pick it up yesterday as I had so much to get done. happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-25 08:19:00 |
| Morning everyone Yes thankfully I keep all the emails of my books and I checked yesterday they are there and also on my amazon account.. Its just like theres a block between the kindle and my phone, when it comes to the password.. I had the kindle online at one stage but nothing would work. I tried to use the tablet last night,, Ohh its sooo slow that I gave up and played games. Its fine here today. But I can still get washing dry faster by having it in the sewing room with the dehumidifier on...lol Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-25 09:41:00 |
| Have you tried turning your internet off and on again and also, turn your firewall/antivirus off, try again with your kindle and if it works, put your firewall back up again. kiwimade64 - 2020-07-25 11:50:00 |

| Thanks Lindyloue Ill have a looky... The woolswap page is still up, I just dont manage it now. The Jones channel has alot of westerns on , currently playing Annie Oakly, Rawhide, Have Gun will travel, High Chaparral and Bonanza.. The the Waltons and Little house on the Prairie... Ohh and we dont have all the movie channels, but we do have the Vintage channel which has all the older movies and westerns on a Friday night Yep MrP loves his westerns lol I got some crochet done this afternoon while we caught up on some recorded TV popeye333 - 2020-07-25 17:55:00 |
| morning ladies :) The morning started off fine but some fog has come down, can still see a bit of the sun so it won't take long to clear. I'll be finishing the weeding today and will move the pots and a huge piece of driftwood back under the windows. MrK put the house baseboards back on yesterday where the guys crawled under for the insulation. The Christmas lillies are poking through and the freesias have flower buds on them, the roses have new growth too. So summer is on the way. I finished the last of the library books so I can return them tomorrow. Love how our library has gone digital and I can extend the borrowing time on an app if need be and even sign the books back in from my phone at the library. I must try and finish my stitching this week. Not much to do and I want to move on to the next project. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-26 08:27:00 |
| Morning everyone I was right about the leaves that are in the planter with the rhubarb.. They are fresias and ours are budded too Kiwimade.. Very long stalks too.. It will be hard to leave them outside but the smell will set me off lol.. Fingers crossed at least one daffodil will come up. We had a day of catching up with tv yesterday and MrP has a couple of westerns to watch.. I will zone out lol..He's probably seen both countless times already. Our library is the same Kiwimade, we can order books online and pop down get them from the shelf, scan at the self serve counters and leave. I did one of the striped squares yesterday. I have to measure today and see how I am for size compared to the variegated one... Awesomely Lindyloue has the right wool and is very kindly sending it to me tomorrow.. Thank you Linda... The pale colours that I used yesterday are very pale but I'm sure they will look nice together. My arms have flared up bigtime, I don't know why it happens cos they don't actually touch the yarn. Ohh the sun has gone, looks like it will be a battle of the clouds versus sun today lol Have a fab day everyone Edited by popeye333 at 9:45 am, Sun 26 Jul popeye333 - 2020-07-26 09:42:00 |
| morning ladies :) Almost finished the weeding. I would have finished yesterday afternoon but our nieghbour was target shooting and the Furry One is terrified of the sound. He just wouldn't leave me alone and was all round my feet as I was working, shaking like a leaf. So I ended up inside with him snuggled up to me. He really is a sensitive soul <3. So I am hoping to get it all done this morning before I go into town. Bins out tomorrow so it can all be taken away. The dad of the young woman whose car broke down the other evening dropped in a box of beer as a thank you. He didn't have to do it and we said no when his daughter told us he was coming. We have a daughter the same age and like to think others would do the same for her. Oh well, MrK is enjoying the beer lol. We have a -2 frost this morning with dark clouds, a black frost. Great, just what we need lol. It's supposed to clear up later. Crafting later, I still haven't done any stitching. Better get onto it. Happy crafting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 8:18 am, Mon 27 Jul kiwimade64 - 2020-07-27 08:18:00 |
| Morning everyone. The temp sure dropped overnight.. Its cos I put my house hat away yesterday lol. My hair is so fine I wear a beanie when its cold lol. I redesigned the blanket yesterday, Im not going to have enough to do the size panels that I want, so have worked it out to have enough of the smaller size of the new design. So Ive finished 2 panels and made a good start on the 3rd. That was nice of the young ladies dad to bring a thankyou gift Kiwimade. Many years ago when we lived on the farm a lady further down the road rolled her car right outside our gate. MrP helped her get out and safe etc. She came back with a lovely shrub in a big pot as a thank you. Sadly it somehow didnt make it onto the truck when we moved. Not sure if it was intentional or just forgotten. Right I better get FB done and then do some more washing I suppose lol Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-27 09:42:00 |
| morning ladies :) It was a gorgeous day yesterday so managed to finish off the weeding. By the afternoon, it was 26 degrees in our living room just from the sun. We've had it up to 32 degrees some winters. It's a real heat trap in the winter. We have really noticed a difference with the new insulation, our heat pump is down by a couple of degrees. So I hope that reflects in the power bill. I am also hoping MrK will get the chainsaw out again today. The cabbage tree needs a few bits cut off, the old rhodo stump finally collapsed as all the fungi did it's work and rotted it so it needs cutting from the bottom, and a camellia needs a few branches tidied up that are too big for the loppers. Always something needs doing. Coffee finished, time to put the washing machine on and get the day started. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-28 08:16:00 |
| Morning everyone It got chilly last night... But isnt too bad this morning. A bit of wind tho. I contacted our lawn lady yesterday and told her she could have the 15 minutes max it takes to do our lawn off lol.. Theres practically zero growth on it. I have one round on the square I was doing, then I have done three. Stripes always seem to grow faster for some reason. I may pop up the road this morning, the doohickey that is on the back of my mobile broke yesterday. I put it somewhere safe so I could try to put it back together but Im thinking Madam has taken off with it cos I cant fin it lol.. Only a couple of dollars . it pulls out so you can put your fingers behind it, makes holding the phone really easy. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-28 09:36:00 |
| Wow the courier has worked fast. Thank you Lindyloue, the wool is Perfect... Just delivered at 5-50pm. Thats a fast trip from yours to mine ... An all time record I reckon popeye333 - 2020-07-28 18:06:00 |
| morning ladies :) A slightly overcast morning but the sunrise was stunning. I have a couple of things to tutu with outside this morning but the garden is pretty much ready for spring. To keep me on track I've made a list of the plants I need (want) to fill in some gaps. It's been a bit of a mission with the new garden but now I'm up to the 'fun stuff' :) No stitching done yesterday as a friend called and we went into town together. So I'll try again today lol. This cat is determined not to be finished at this rate! Happy crafting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 7:44 am, Wed 29 Jul kiwimade64 - 2020-07-29 07:44:00 |
| Morning everyone Your cat sounds like my cardy Kiwimade, seems to just not happen.. but we can forgive ourselves we are getting other stuff done. lol I started a variegated square last night and as they say a blind man would be pleased to see any difference. My friend certainly wont. Its just slightly lighter in colour. And since Im randomley adding it, by the time I finish it I wont see it either.. I have a load of dishes to put in the dishwasher and not much else to do so I will sit and sew in the ends on what Ive done so far. Normally I do it as I go but I thought I wont do it till I knew I was safe lol. I hope everyone is safe and well Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-29 09:14:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another lovely day here, so nice to see the sun. Not sure what the day will bring but it will involve being outside. Next week the Fluffy One will be staying with us for a couple of nights while my sister is away. She's getting on in years now so isn't quite as energetic as she used to be. I stitched a little yesterday, I must make an effort and finish it. Have some new ideas I want to put into action and we need a bigger throw for the couch. The Furry One's claws are damaging it and we can't afford a new one yet so a bigger throw should help make the couch last a bit longer. I need to win Lotto lol. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-30 07:58:00 |
| Morning everyone The other day I was browsing on Aliexpress and found a picture that apart from two spots could be a photo of Missy... ( in a diamond painting kit). So I have ordered it. I will have to put a black spot on the pink of its nose and a copper spot in the left eye and then it will be perfect.. I just tried to upload it on here but it wont work... I put it on fb the other day.. but once its done Ill put one on here too. Cant wait for it to arrive. Talking of Lotto was it won last night? Have a fab day everyone.. popeye333 - 2020-07-30 08:27:00 |
| morning ladies :) Cloudy start to the day but looks like the sun will be out soon. The Furry One is on a roll catching rabbits, he caught his second in three days yesterday. MrK and I came home to find him trying to get under the house so MrK opened the 'door' in the baseboards for him. Next minute he had a rabbit. I think it may have been the rabbit I scared off when in the garden. And then he chased a mouse but the mouse was quicker lol. Not bad for a nine and a half year old terrier. Mind you, he looks and behaves like a pup. His tummy was bulging so no dinner for him. Housework today and then stitching. The lawn needs mowing again but that can wait until tomorrow or next week. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-07-31 07:49:00 |
| Morning everyone The furry one is such a clever boy Kiwimade. MrK's Lettuce (if he grows them) will always be safe from rabbits. Overcast here today too. But I have to go up and do my bloods, then to the oppy for a pair of kids jeans. MrP wants some more belt keepers and need some fabric to make them. I used to sew miles of strips of fabric for belt keepers in the jean factory that was here when I was younger. Its actually really cool to hear that sewing factories are coming back. People choosing quality and NZ made, over mass produced by slave labour. I really enjoyed working in sewing factories.. Probably cos Im methodical and my mind just drifts away with my hands on autopilot... I would love to see if my body would handle going back to a sewing factory. I would probably need a good quality chair tho. Im one round of number 5 panel being done. And Lindyloue cos I changed the size of the panels Im going to end up with about 30 grams left over... Phew lol.. Right I better get a few things done. A perfect day for crafting.. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-07-31 08:59:00 |
| morning ladies :) It's a miserable day out there today, perfect for finishing my embroidery. I looked at it yesterday and wasn't happy with it so unpicked a bit and now it looks a lot more even. Did anyone see the ladies knitting for prem babies on The Project? Nice to be acknowledged for what they do. I'm glad I did all the weed spraying the other day, the moss should start dying off soon. And I finally bought up all the bits of firewood from the dead camellia we cut down along the road during L4 lockdown and given it to friends with a fire. It's much easier to manage that bit now that we have cleaned it all up. A quick spray for weeds and it's pretty much done. I just have to time it or when the road is quiet (ish). Coffee is finished, time to move this body and get a few things done. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-08-01 08:19:00 |
| Morning everyone Dull and a bit windy here too.. dull enough to need lights on. lol A bit of housework this morning, washing, load the dishwasher, and I want to make an uncooked slice and an orange cake / loaf which I saw on here a couple of weeks ago. It just sounds nice and light and refreshing. So If I time it right Ill make scones or muffins for lunch at the same time. I started another panel last night, probably wont get it finished tonight tho , cos I got several pairs of kids jeans yesterday and I want to cut them down to fabric for the belt keepers. They were free, which was even better. They had several banana boxes out the front of the oppy with free kids clothes. I hope everyone is well and keeping busy Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2020-08-01 09:43:00 |
| morning ladies :) A wet miserable day here and it's cold to boot. I'm expecting my sister to visit sometime today with her granddaughter. She can take her photo scanner home with her too as I've finished scanning our pics. Almost finished the cat embroidery, the outline is fading quickly so I've stitched a running stitch around it to make it easier to see. Might use this trick each time I iron a design onto fabric. I have a frame I can use for framing, just need to buy a board to lace it on. I'm all for recycling picture frames. Another win by 'my' Crusaders, the Chiefs did have another dodgy call by the ref though. Seems they just can't get a break there. I have a pile of walnuts to crack (was given a huge bag over lockdown) and want to make a sultana and walnut loaf today. It doesn't take long to make, will take longer to crack the walnuts lol. I use one of MrK's spanners :P Happy crafting :P kiwimade64 - 2020-08-02 08:11:00 |
| Morning everyone I got the cake / loaf made and it is very yummy. Its a butter cake, of which I somehow cut the butter short some time between reading the recipe and writing it down lol... But it was Madera type texture and would also be nice with lemon.. although MrP reckons to add passionfruit to the cake and use in the icing which would be very Yummy.. 16242 | Morning everyone Talk about having a blonde or senior moment, here was me thinking last night yay Ive done 6 panels I'm half way... Dohhhhh there's 16 in my design lol.. And I know I have enough yarn ,, lol So now Im 2 off halfway lol. I did a bit of sewing yesterday, after I unpicked the original belt keepers off the jeans, bartacking is not easy to undo. But thank goodness there was only 4. So I got them replaced, cut the elastic off a pair of trackies with a bit of extra fabric, turned that into keepers and went to grab the back with the new trackies in and Ive Obviously "Put" them away somewhere lol So this morning Ill vacuum and then hunt down the missing trackies and I saw some what I think is sock wool so Ill see if I can find that as well lol. Nearly time to pick the rhubarb again, its huge . I hope everyone had a good weekend.. Have a fab day popeye333 - 2020-08-03 08:46:00 |
| afternoon ladies :) It's been a busy morning. I decided to sit and finish my embroidery and it took a little longer than I thought it would. But it's washed and hanging on the line. Once I've laced it to a board I'll take a pic. The frame I thought would work is perfect for it and will need cutting down a tad. Framing is always the most expensive bit and I'm always pleased when I can cut that cost down. So now to decide on the next project as I have a couple in mind. The Furry One is on the hunt for the mouse that has been freeloading here for a week now. The damed thing knows how to avoid the trap too and triggers it without being caught. I'll have to find some tempting morsel and see how that works. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-08-03 12:20:00 |
| Try bacon rind and tie it on with a little of your tapestry cotton Kiwimade... Makes it heaps harder for them to get it off. Ive found the trackies and done the floor.. Then my body battery died lol. popeye333 - 2020-08-03 12:31:00 |
| afternoon ladies :) Another busy morning, my sister is paranoid about mice so I have been in Cambridge blocking a hole and setting a trap. I didn't tell her we have a mouse lol when she visited the other day. It's a pesky thing and is very clever around the trap. It's a beautiful day today and MrK has been hanging an old plough horse collar for me on the fence. We've had it for years and it's now hanging above the old wagon wheel I planted a rose against. The 'new' garden is coming together nicely, slowly, but nicely. Time for lunch then I want to have a read up on stumpwork. I've had an idea and know roughly how to do it but want to refresh my memory before starting. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-08-04 13:38:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another stunning day today by the looks of it. A rosty start though. I have some rubbish to burn first off so will get that done shortly before I hang washing out. So it looks like our son will take redundancy from the Warehouse. He's decided he wants to do other things. Fair enough, he doesn't have a family to worry about so can do pretty much what he wants. We know he'll be fine and this way, hopefully, it will give someone with a family a better chance to keep their job. Sometime today I'll start planning my next project. I have a board to lace the cat onto so will get that done too. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-08-05 07:53:00 |
| Morning everyone A definate temperature drop about 6am this morning. I woke up and my hand was like ice lol.. will be beautiful tho. I just seemed to have a quiet day yesterday I was sore so took things easy. I joined a group on fb for back, hip sciatic sufferers so will see what sort of info I might learn from people who are going through it.. I did start a square and got quite a bit done so still a little productive. Good thinking of your son Kiwimade, a new start for him and helping a family hopefully at the same time.. Sometimes these things happen for a reason. I hope he does really well. We have MrP's ophthalmology appointment today. First time we have gone any further than Pukekohe since well before Level 4 lockdown. So I guess we will find out what sort of questions etc they will ask before we get inside lol. I had what has to be my loopiest dream ever last night.. And so loopy I remember everything in it.. Although I have written it down cos I need to tell one of the people in it about it.. Well I asked if she was ever involved in Synchronized swimming lol that's got her wondering lol it was totally screw loose really lol. Have a fab day everyone.. Stay warm popeye333 - 2020-08-05 08:39:00 |
| morning ladies :) It looks pretty bleak outside compared to the last few days. The board I bought for lacing my embroidery was too small so that will have to wait until I find another. Just means I have to stitch a smaller project at some stage lol. I've sketched the outline and have picked colours and stitches for my next idea but this could change. I love making my own designs, there is a real sense of satisfaction as I work from scratch. Time to move, have chores to do first and lawn needs mowing again. Spring must be close as I'm sneezing again. Happy crafting :) kiwimade64 - 2020-08-06 08:27:00 |
| Morning everyone Funny your should say about Spring and your Nose Kiwimade. The trip through from Waiuku to Papakura is loaded of privet plants so My nose has joined yours. I didnt do any crochet last night.. I did something I shouldnt have and hurt my tummy where the mesh is for my hernia... It hurt alot and is still quite sore this morning so Ill have to be very careful lifting. Annoying..grrr I used to think that it would be a good idea to move further into Auckland to be near the clinic and hospital, but after yesterdays traffic Ill happily stay away. lol I wouldnt mind going back to Thames where I grew up .. At least it has a hospital. Right better get a few things done before we go shopping. I did the fruit and veges yesterday which was good. Crochet later.. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2020-08-06 08:51:00 |
| morning ladies :) Halfway through the housework already, mind you I was up early thanks to a wandering cat and the Furry One. The cat was yowling and meowing at 3.30am and it was bucketing down with rain. Poor thing would have been soaked through so no wonder it was meowing so loudly. But that was enough for the Furry One to charge outside and reclaim his territory. So a very wet dog shaking and drying himself off in the wee hours. I had a quick look around the garden this morning and no dead cat so that was one lucky cat. Crafting later today, I've started my new pic and so far so good. It's mostly freehanded embroidery which is a new challenge for me. happy crafting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 9:03 am, Fri 7 Aug kiwimade64 - 2020-08-07 09:03:00 |
