I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post

Morning everyone

We do too Kiwimade.. everything is looking lush . And its not cold at all

I seldom see spiders but certainly see their homes lol... I have been thinking about spraying for flies before summer too.. Mitre10 sell Ripcord, it works well for all other bugs etc, pretty sure it includes flies... I might get a bottle. Its about $25 but it works.

I got 5 pictures framed yesterday, and am happy with them, well not so much with MrPs ones but Theyre not in my view often so that doesnt worry me. Finally got my birds in the tree done and I love it... The fiddly bits my fingers did, is showing this morning tho lol.

I found a pattern for a V neck cardy with raglan sleeves so am doing that. What I didnt find is the fluffy cream wool I was going to knit it in lol... so Im doing a nice rich red instead. Long time since Ive had 159 stitches on needles lol.

A friend wants a bird picture done, and I enjoyed doing that one so am happy to do it for her... shes the one who owns Smithies Nuersery Kiwimade, so I told her Id price it up for the picture and frame, and as I know she wont let me do it for nothing, Ill suggest a mandarin tree as payment lol.

A quiet day for me today, MrPs toenails need cutting, and Ill pack up the last diamonds and container up the next picture.. As well as knitting.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies I've done very little the las tcouple of weeks,up town with friend and a couple guys came up on their bikes and push between my friend and I . Got my friend 's bag and one push me to the ground and ended up with very sore ribs.Lady from the store came out and helped me up. Rang the Cops and yes they did come. Not first time that they or others had done it.
Just picked up my knitting at the w/end. Knitting a wrap that was going to knited during level four.Yes sometimes plans just go out the window.so doing a catchup.Cut out 3 project bags and sowed them up,need to use up my fabric. Be alots of sewing over the winter, well that the plan.
My lawns are looking good and the gardens have been tidied up for me. Well I better move as the sun out and washing needs to be hang out. Need to move somethings around in the dinning area as I have a new dinning table coming today.
It's good to have a day when you can knit or sew Kiwimade. How the stitching going?
You reminded me Popeye I have fruit to make some jam up for winter. The oranges on the two trees are not as loaded this year, yes they are ripe and more will come on later.
It's been sometime since I knitted for myself.
Hope you all have a great day.

Afternoon everyone.

Had trouble with the internet this morning...

Sunflowers what a scary time for you. Did they get the handbag back and deal with the scumbags.?

The sun is out again, but it did rain constantly yesterday so hopefully it helps the water... Waiuku has its own water but it goes elsewhere to be treated.. its disgusting to drink unless you filter it or boil it first. And its hard on showers.
Nipped up to the supermarket for a few things and that is the extent of my day lol.
I was going to use the older vacc to vacc the filters of the temprarily dead one, this morning, but it will wait another day lol.

Its nice to be knitting again. Albeit slow but Im ok with that.

I did a fair bit of painting yesterday and then realised Id put the wrong ones on the wrong symbol,, most annoying, it can be undone but the area I was going had 3 diff greys. But Im stubborn and wont let it beat me.

Not so cold today, which is nice.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Omg sunflowers, what scumbags, I hope they are caught and you are on the mend.

My stitching has been put aside for a bit while I knit our grandson's jumper. I can't seem to get enthused about it though, seems like I have lost a bit of crafting mojo. I need to find something to inspire me.

A friend has asked me to teach her to knit and crochet, with the downtime she has now with her job she wants something constructive to do. It made me realise again how lucky we are to have these skills at this time.

I have leaves to rake this morning, one of the maple trees has finally decided to let another lot of leaves go. It's all good stuff for the compost bins. And I need to weed again but that will have to wait until the self seeded seedlings are a bit bigger and I can see what is what.

Friday I finally get my hair cut, I'm going to talk to my hairdresser about having a colour put in. I saw a stunning red the other day and it will make a change from my chocolate brown and ash blonde I usually have.

Raining today after a lovely sunny afternoon yesterday. Hopefully we get lots rain, we sure could use it.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Yep rain here too Kiwimade, had a few sunny hours in the afternoon yesterday and I thought , Well that was a short "week" of rain. Its a bit cooler today too I think.

Taking MrP to the drs about his leg and a list of other things today. And finally our Medlab is open again so Ill do my bloods this morning and see the girls.

3 rows of ribbing left to do.. Its going to be a slow project, but its keeping me awake and thats what matters. lol.
I agree Kiwimade, I may have gone a bit nutty if I couldnt do all my crafts and painting etc.

I died my hair for a little while when I was younger, but Ive always wanted to go white like my grandmothers.. Im getting there slowly lol.. And its getting nice and long now. Soo thin tho which I dont like. But I used to say Mums hair was salt and pepper mixed, my darker hair is lighter than hers was so it look fairer than her.. Yay.

Right better get myself sorted and get a cardy out I think. Havent needed one for a couple of days.

Have a fab day everyone.

morning ladies :) Yesterday we had an 'explosion' in the fridge. MrK's bottle of beer bumped the temperature gauge at the back of the fridge up and his bottle froze. Off course the frozen beer popped the lid off the bottle and there was frozen beer through the fridge. What a blimmen mess and smell lol. Luckily the bottle didn't break but there is still the faint lingering smell of beer after cleaning it all up.

I just have to sew one sleeve and the wee jumper is finished so I will post it tomorrow when in town. And I'll buy some contrasting wool as I have some left over to make a hoodie or another jumper.

Today i'll rake the leaves up, didn't get done yesterday as once the fridge was cleaned the weather turned to custard. Ok, so I was procrastinating lol.

happy crafting.

Morning everyone

Ohh Kiwimade that would have been a mess... Reminds me of Ginger beer bottles exploding. We had a cupboard full brewing in the kitchen and could hear this "chink chink" and by the time I got to the cupboard it was flowing out of the cupboard..

Well yesterday was disastorous. The Dr told MrP a few truths and He did not like it. He gets credit for holding it in while he was there, but I still have a nearly 74 year old acting like a tired 2 year old. He even smashed all his insulin last night and refuses to take that and his pills... Ive gone past caring about that part.. Its his body and he can do what he wants with it. But he thinks Im going to town without him, hes sulking in bed, but that isnt happening.. I wont leave him alone in his mood or it will be Missy that cops it.
So Ill sit and paint or knit until he realises I havent gone anywhere... Probably annoy him but tough. If he wants to act like a baby Ill treat him like one.

Im getting through the picture, its a beach scene for a friend, Im on about the 5th grey tho lol.
Finally on the stocking stitch on the back of the cardy. 20 rows of 1x1 rib. I like ribbing, but it felt like it took for ever lol. When I first learnt to knit my grandmother got me to do all her ribbing, she always said I had a nice tension... I reckon she just didnt like doing it lol.

Well I will do some stuff on here then get on with my day.

Have a fab day all

When l was a teen my brother and l made Apple cider in his wardrobe so mum wouldn't find out one day when we were at school it all exploded and left an awful mess. Of course the Prince child was mildly rebuked but l was given the belt several times. He was 16 l was 13 l only helped for $2.

Afternoon ladies, well I finally got my water leaks sorted out on Tuesday. My friend who came on Monday had a look at both cisterns and said they both needed new ball cocks (even though they look nothing like the old ball cocks which did actually have a ball on them) and two new isolation valves. Apparently when I came up with the bright idea of turning the isolation valves off at the wall, they weren't working, and even though they turned they didn't stop the water going into the cistern, and because the ball cocks weren't working the water filled the cistern which then overflowed into the toilet pan. So he phoned the plumber told them what I needed and they fitted it that afternoon. Now my TV has spat the dummy along with the digital bedside clock/radio. Grrrr!

I have a committee meeting to go to tomorrow afternoon with friend. She is the one who is taking me to the hospital on Saturday. It's also her birthday tomorrow and I have a horrible feeling that the treasurer, knowing it's her birthday, will put on an afternoon tea at the meeting, and I will have to sit and watch everyone tuck in. I might be wrong. We were supposed to be going to the club with other friends to celebrate the birthday but as I can't eat after midday tomorrow, we are going for lunch one day next week.

My friend has suggested that I should stay at her place tomorrow night and well as Saturday night. I'm worried that I might have an accident on my way to the toilet or in bed even, but she says not to worry and if I do it can be cleaned up. She is a real treasure. She is the one who organised the cruise we went on and the trip down the south island.

I have finally started to get a bit enthusiastic about doing some more knitting and crochet, not quite so enthusiastic about sewing or the garden, but I will get there eventually. We had rain all day yesterday, so the plants I put in at the weekend should be happy, and I've got some more t this afternoon. The others will wait till next week.

Sunflowers, that is awful what those scumbags did. Some people are just oxygen thieves. No respect for other people or their property. Bring back the cane at school. Teach the little blighters some respect. I hope your ribs are getting better. It must have been a terrible shock for you.

Popeye, I know what you mean. Mr K was like that at times. It is absolutely exasperating. I think I would be ignoring his tantrums too.

Right, I will go and check my boring menu and see what I can have for lunch.

Happy crafting everyone.

Sounds like we had all had an experience with erupting bottles lol. But Wow Huntlygirl thats very unfair.
I admit to being quite selfish wiht my junkfood goodies etc.. because when we grew up my twin brother would scoff the lollies etc we had had, then he would whinge and whine until mum got annoyed and made me share mine with him.
Even got in trouble at college, cos a friend and I had a system that one of us would take down the homework and then we would ring each other and share what it was.. But I wouldnt share with my twin, he figured he never had to do it cos I would know what it was. The teachers blew me up for not giving it to him... I had a bit of backbone that day and I said Its the schools fault, for putting us in the same class, we never had been before... I said to them if I wasnt in the class he would have to get it himself.. we werent split up but they supported my opinion.

MrP cheered up a little, enough to come for a ride to town.. But Im treading carefully, now cos hes still moody... If problem is he is too used to everyone running after him and if he wants something, he wants it yesterday.

But Im going to pop down to the oppies this afternoon to have a wee break while he watches his westerns. And Ill plant the mandarin tree since its is fine.

Morning Everyone

So for my moaning the last couple of days.. Its been a rough ride. He wasnt so bad last night, and a bit niggly this morning.

I Had a nice time at the oppies, didnt get anything in the first one, but got a big soup mug / hot choc cup big enough to wrap my hands around it, a backpack, some more material and a card for my Aunts 84th birthday all for the grand sum of $19-50.
The backpack has 10... yes 10 pockets so it will be like a treasure hunt until I remember what is where lol

The district nurse is meant to be coming this morning, havent had a phone call yet, well other than the one that rang the other day thinking we were in Whangaparoa lol..

I didnt knit last night, hope to get some done tonight...

We have apple and some home grown rhubarb to stew Already lol yay

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) ommmgg huntlygirl, that was unfair for you to get the belt. I hope you remind your brother every so often lol.

Good to hear you have your water issues sorted, kuaka. And now your telly, if it's not one thing, it's another. Our telly spits the dummy every so often too but I'm determined it has to 'die' properly before we buy a new one.

ahhhh temper tantrums, what is it with grumpy old men, popeye. The doctor obviously hit a nerve. Good on you for standing your ground. And don't apologise for ranting here, we all need to blow off steam occasionally.

I had a phone call Thursday afternoon asking if I would like to come in to the hair salon in 20 minutes as they had a cancellation and my hairdresser had a funeral Friday. As if I needed to be asked twice lol. So my hair is cut (love the new short(er) cut) and I'm booked in for a colour in a couple of weeks. My excuse for the colour is I am supporting local business lol. Had a chat with my hairdresser and am going with red/auburn winter tones.

Lawns and housework was done yesterday so today, I am freeeeeeee :P So today I can finally sit at the sewing machine and sew. I'll start with the second bedroom cushion. The second jumper I'm knitting for our grandson looks a bit small for him but that's ok as a friend has a grandchild it would fit if it is wanted. If not, then our daughter can donate it to her child care centre as spare clothing or may know of someone who could use it.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone,

Started off a nice looking day out, no wind but the sun was shining, now the clouds are in and the sun has gone back to sleep for a while.

Ohh I bet it feels good to have your hair done Kiwimade. I need to have my ends done, but dread the thought of losing any of the length hahaha.. Ill just nip them off myself, 99.9% of the time my hair is up so you cant notice if its crooked. Its down to my waist now. Longest it has been in years.Warfarin and menopause didnt help it in anyway, but having it long makes me think I have more than I have lol.

I am eating the first rhubarb off our plant. The rain weighed down the leaves and it looked like it was struggling, so I took 9 stalks off and the rest are now standing up nicely. It is soo nice looking from my lounge chair seeing the plants, I can see the rhubarb, chives, silverbeet and Mandarin tree. And the tomatoe seedlings inside too.

Im going to play and tidy in the craft room today. Needs a tidy up and Ill hopefully get some cutting out of aprons. One of the bits of fabric I got on Thursday is really pretty and would make a nice top lol. And I suspect the bit of gingham may not end up on one either.. I like it too much... I have a thing about gingham and crepe wool .. I collect it where I should use it cos once I go I doubt anyone will use it, probably just give it away..

Cardy is going slowly, only a few rows at night. But Im ok with that.. Might be next winter before i get to wear it lol.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Best laid plans and all that lol, we ended up going to the beach. It wasn't till we got there I realised just how much I had missed it. Omg the water was calm, so flat, it looked like you could walk on it. Bought MrK a pair of shoes, found the rest home where a family member went to last week, had lunch and came home lol. Traffic was very light compared to other trips we have had and everyone was observing social distancing except at the mall. Have decided to pass on going back to malls for a while. MrK wasn't to keen to go (I think he has become fixed on lockdown) but enjoyed the day out too.

Today I have some rubbish to burn while there is no wind and then I'm going to have another go at sewing. I will get there eventually!

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

I had a good day yesterday. I cut out a pattern and then cut out 3 aprons. And have overlocked as much as I can. Will put them together today.
I must take a photo of one of the materials, ive never seen anything like it. its two thicknesses but its sewn, like blind hemming every 1cm through the whole piece. First time Ive ever seen anything like it.
Was incredibly sore by tea time tho, so I didnt come online, I sat and knitted and got 17 rows done instead of the usual 3-4 lol.. The sleeves have a cable up the middle of them, so Im looking forward to that, I think the last time I did cables was ona beanie.

I have to admit I was a little concerned with people numbers in the warehouse Kiwimade but they were pretty good up here. I havent been to any malls tho.
We have alot of wind today, so a nice day to stay inside. The rhubarb is standing up properly again, even the Jonquill has stood itself up again too.

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, well I'm pleased to say that I'm home again, and yesterday when my friend drove me to Whangarei, waited for me and drove me home again the weather was beautiful. Today it's horrible, and I'm so pleased it wasn't like that yesterday.

Friday of course, I had to drink two litres of "gloop". Thin watery stuff that tasted vaguely of what I imagine rotten oranges would taste of. Before I had finished the first litre I was on the toilet. I stopped counting when I got to 12 visits, and I couldn't get warm. Lit the fire and even standing in front of it, I was still cold so when I thought I'd had enough trips to the toilet, I heated a wheat bag and went to bed. Slept like a log. Another litre of gloop in the morning, showered and went to my friends and we went from there.

The staff at the hospital were lovely. The guy who took my details, blood pressure etc was hilarious. He gave me a basket which contained disposable pants and hospital gown and he said "now here's some pants designed by Heidi Klum and if you can figure out how to put them on, you're better than me, and there's a sexy back fastening French design ball gown". He made my day. Procedure was fine, as they gave me painkillers and sedative, and it was a walk in the park compared to the barium enema x-ray I had a few years ago.

And the part of the hospital that I had to go to has only been open six weeks so everything is pristine and bright. Makes a huge difference.

Waiting on the result of a biopsy but nothing sinister found, except I now have diverticulosis in both left and right colon, where previously it was only in the left. Oh and add in haemorrhoids just for fun. Apart from that I was fine. My friend drove me back to her place and the second cup of tea went down just as well as the first. I said I feel a bit of a fraud as I felt I was okay to drive home myself, and wasn't at all sleepy - we stayed up chatting till after 11. I was only following instructions. She's a wonderful friend.

Right, lunch time for me.

Hope everyone is well and taking advantage of the miserable weather to do some crafting.

Ohh Kuaka I reckon people like that guy really makes a visit to the hospital fun.
I remember years ago when I had gall stones, My dr had said every time you get an attack go to the hospital.
It got to the stage when I was seeing the same tall skinny young dr, and I said to him, I guess this is my punishment for eating crap.
He Then told me in the funniest way, that he had them, Ohh the pain, Ohh they couldnt give me ahything to get rid of it etc,, in a real Drama queen voice. He said he was a real wuss who couldnt cope with it at all, I was laughing my head off lol.

I did some sewing this morning, Just have the straps and pockets to put on the skirt, then gather the top and hem the main skirt part.
But I couldnt face the chair again. Years ago we invested in a very good quality chair for me to use for sewing and on the computer as the desktop was in the same room. I havent the heafrt to tell MrP that it really makes a mess of my hamstrings now..

So I asked if he would like to go to the Junktion, that we hadnt been too since they open in level 2. It was lovely to see everyone again.. MrP only had his stick , no walker so we didnt take too long, he did well tho. I got a couple of frames that were half price, a little Yorkie terrier ornament and a belt A genuine Lee belt, for the buckle.. So spent the grand sum of $4 and it has lifted MrPs mood dramatically... I find these days I am agreeing with everything he says, its saves upsetting him..

So Im sitting with a hottie on my back which is helping, and Ill knit when I get off here

popeye333 - 2020-05-31 18:56:00

morning ladies :) What a miserable day it is today but not complaining as we need the rain. And it's a good excuse to craft.

Hospital staff are lovely, aren't they. They were so supportive when MrK was so ill and when dad was in and out of hospital. At least you know what's wrong now, kuaka. I think knowing is half the battle.

Yesterday I knitted a sleeve for the wee hoodie and didn't sew. The space I use for cutting out was being used by MrK so will try (once again!) to sew today. That's the thing about downsizing homes, you have to share spaces. I did get the ironing done so I suppose that was something too.

This week I'm having my eyes tested, my reading glasses aren't working as well even when I put my phone messages onto 'bold' and increase the font so I guess that's a pretty big hint I need to do something.

Coffee is finished, time to move and put washing on.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Yep wet and very windy here too..Was going to say Ill only go out for the mail, but there wont be any lol.

When I was in and out of hospital with my tummy it was like seeing family every time I went back in.. Ill always remember one of the housekeeping ladies, she was always smiling and happy, even tho she was having alot of pain with gout. And she Loved the royal wedding etc, so in one of my times there I got the latest magazine , aussie womans weekley and gave it to her. She gave me a hug when I left the last time.. And of course I often wonder if the young nurses carried on after the muck up with my medication and epidural.. I made them promise me they would..

Ive just put a beef soup in the crockpot, its seldom I make a beef one. Normally I use a bacon hock or chicken. but I got a Kings soup mix beef and vegetable, and got some nice meaty bones yesterday. Discovered while readiing it that you dont actually need the meat or any other veges, which is really odd to me lol... But its on and hopefully he will like it. Ive never used a Kings soup mixe before lol.. I have not added any seasonings either, since I dont know how salty these premix things can be...

I hope to get a little more sewing done, and maybe some painting, in hope I can not end up sore lol..

Not sure if the nurse is coming to dress Mrps leg or not, Im thinking not, but this one is done through ACC not the DHB, so I dont know how theywork.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Afternoon Ladies, hope you all staying warm and dry. Had the fire going last night and banked it up so the house would be warm this morning. Be the last time I will be able to do it as I having a new fire place put in later in the week, thats if rain stops. I choose one that will let me cook on the top.Be handy to cook soups, stews etc. Everyone asked why I didnot go for heat pumps. Have no where for one in the lounge, dinning and kitchen areas. Only inside walls and just a no go. Years ago it had oil heating as the grills on floors have been removed. Everyone around me has heatpumps and said if we have bad weather and power cuts they are coming to my place. I just LOL.

Good time to knit, sew, sitching, colouring with this weather. I just need someone to cook for me now while i don't have to stop for cooking . - I like cooking. I batch cook. Cleanup my craft room and boy do I have a heaps of fabric. Down sized my knitting neddles as well I replacing them with wooden neddles. over time.
I'm off to make myself a toasted sandwich(s) for lunch.
Love to have a store like you have to nose around Popeye, like hearing about your buys.
Kuaka,so pleased everything went well for you at the hospital.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone. stay dry and enjoy rest of your day..
Just got a text messaage asking would I like a visit. .... not sure 21/2 year old going on 8,youngest of 6. She a darling...........

morning ladies :) Popeye, I use those Kings soup mixes all the time and always add meat and veg. They are so cheap and add extra nutrition to soups. Would never have them on their own though as I'm not a fan of just split peas and lentils on their own.

I sewed yesterday! Couldn't believe it lol. But I sewed the zip in the first piece of gusset and finished making the piping for the cushion. Today I will attach the piping and gusset to the bottom piece of cushion. I can't sew the top on yet as I need to embroider the rose first. But it was lovely to sit at my machine even if I was swearing a few times lol.

Bin man has been so I'm going to rake up leaves before it rains again. The compost bin is full again so these leaves sadly go in the wheelie bin.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
A bright day here, a chilly..

Well the soup turned out good.. By the time it got to tea time , to be honest, to me it smelt like a pot of mince lol.. I didnt add any other veges, cos I wanted to see what it was like without. MrP tasted it and loved it. It said to use 8 cups of water, which wasnt quite enough to fill my small crockpot so I put extra in. Meant to make 8 servings but MrP likes big serves so it should be 6-7 serves, for just under $6. I love making soup and casseroles etc for MrP, I dont eat any of it, so Ill miss it when he is gone.. Will have to make it and give it away, just to enjoy the "making" of it lol.

I didnt sew yesterday, my back and legs would have hated it, I did bum along the floor gluing the join in the carpet where it had threads up, so the legs were narly by the time that was done. Painted in the afternoon, am about 3/4rs of the way through a picture for a friends birthday. And then did a little knitting while Dolly was on last night.
I kept thinking if she undid her corset she would be able to hold her notes properly... shes 74.

I have dishes to do, but Ill throw them in the dishwasher, cos Ive had an oxy and Ill be rather chilled out in about an hour lol. I dont like taking them during the day but I need it today.

Was thinking at some ungodly hour last night that Im going to order a blank sheet of diamond painting canvas and do my red and white Blanket design as a painting. The colours on the square diamonds relate to to DMC embroidery cottons, so I will be able to find the right red, if I do an inch per square it will end up apporx 49cms over all.. I need to know if the canvas is gridded in anyway first.
I dont know why my brain comes up with craft ideas in the middle of the night, but Im pleased it does lol.

morning ladies :) We have a real pea souper of fog this morning, really dense and still cars are on the road without their lights on.

Yesterday I did as much sewing as I could and now have to embroider the rose on the top piece. Was one of those perfect sewing days where everything falls into place and no mistakes or unpicking. It was worth the wait lol. Today I'll start the rose and when the cushion is finished go back to the iris I started. And I still have the hoodie to finish, I suspect it will be too small for our grandy so it may go to a friend for hers.

Happy crafting :)

Its thick here too Kiwimade, the promis of a good day later tho.. Usually lol.

Well yesterday I had a wonderful day, very "Happy" drug induced lol.. But the releif from the pain was lovely, and I only have a niggle this morning which is good.

I didnt sew or knit, but I did finish the painting I was doing.. And I found a word in it, that I cant have noticed when I oredered it, but didnt see until I was standing away from it.. Its weird how you can be doing the painting and not see things up close.

The nurse is coming to change Mrps leg again today, Pity they simply cant be replaced with new ones lol.. Then he wouldnt have half the problems with it lol.

I will be adding more vegetables to the next Kings soup, mrP said he missed the bulk, so for this one I will put some noodles in with it.. Makes it more substantial then. And he still breaks bread into it too.

I am excited to make the picture of my blanket, I have a price for the canvas but wiating on a price for the diamonds. need 285 bags of them lol... Each bag holds between 210 and 240... I am over ordering by a coule of bags in each colour cos I dont want to run out, it needs 36,100 diamonds. I will do it is square ones cos it makes a far nicer finish.

Will pack away the one I finished yesterday and start a new one... Maybe sew for a short time, so it doesnt hurt my legs as much.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone

Looks like we may have a messy sunny day today.

Shopping this morning but I dont have alot to do... Found a meat wholesaler that has Mutton packs.. Yummm I love Mutton and these packs have a roast and chops in for $30, so not too badly priced..

The Nurse came yesterday, a different one and she May have solved the mystery of MrPs legs.. She has had another patient out here that has the same yellow filled blisters etc.. So I have the name and will show our Dr next time we see her.. But having a read about it, it sure looks like it,.. After all these years. And Im thinking its probably 15 years easy.

Started a new picture yesterday a mother and baby Girraffe, for me this time.

morning ladies :) The fog hung around home until after lunch but it was a beautiful day in town. MrK had to do a blood test and omg it was busy at the surgery and Path Lab. I went for my walk and posted the jumper to our grandson while I was waiting for him. It is so quiet in town, I knew we had loads of tourists but with the borders closed, we really notice them gone. It is so easy to find a car park now lol.

MrK and I are making a bucket list of things we want to see and do, some things we have done before and want to do again and some are new. Whether we do it all is another thing but my thinking is, if we write it down, we'll get it done eventually.

I'm knitting the hood on the hoodie so will finish it today or tomorrow, depending on what happens during the day. More leaves to rake up so better get moving before it rains again.

happy crafting :)

morning ladies :) The sun is out for now but I have no doubt more rain is on the way.

Today I'm having my eyes tested and I know I will need new lenses in my glasses. It's going to be a frustrating few days without them but will be great to be able to see properly again. I think this is why I've been stopping and starting projects.

One sleeve to sew in the hoodie and buttons to sew on and it's done. It will be good to post this one off to our grandson too.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

A dark wet day here...

Shopping went well yesterday. Althought I got soaked a couple of times.. But I soon steamed dry lol.

Ohh Kiwimade it will be tricky without your glasses do you wear them to drive? Mine need checking but Im waiting until after my diabetes eye test.. That was booked for the few days after Lockdown so I guess it will be another month or so , once they catch up.

MrP finally admitted and had some of his Oxy morphine last night just before tea.. all of 2.5mls.. And he was very chilled out and woke up about an hour later on the couch, at 7-15pm.. Siad I think Ill go to bed lol.. he slept well lol...
I sat and read in bed, so it was relaxing night for both of us lol

The nurse is coming to check his leg today and erin is due too...

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) yep, I need new glasses but they can put the new lenses into the frame I already have :) I love my frame so it's a win-win, saving on the cost of a new one and keeping what I love. It will take three weeks for the new lenses to arrive so I have my old ones still, for now.

Our stereo can't be repaired even though it isn't even five years old and we have a credit. It seems Harvey Norman no longer sell it. We'll go to HN at some point and see what's what. Would rather they refunded than gave a credit so we can shop around and buy the same thing elsewhere. Will talk to them about it but will also do a google search on our rights first so I know what I'm talking about if they say no.

I finished the wee hoodie, even found buttons in the button tin, luck was on my side for that lol.

Coffee's finished so time to move.

Happy crafting :)

morning ladies :) HN came to the party and replaced our sound system so we are happy. It's the same brand, newer style. Got it home, set up the blue tooth and we're good to go. It is so light and easy to move, probably the same weight as my sewing machine.

Did you know Noel Leemings give a discount for gold card holders? Saw it on the gold card app. My drier is on it's last legs and will need to be replaced soon so am looking around at prices and found this.

Housework catch up today and I have a plant to plant in the garden today. It's chilly but at least the sun is out.

Will go back to stitching my iris now I have finished our grandson's jumpers.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Yeah they are pretty good there. MrP taught me years ago to haggle on prices too which Im quite comfortable in doing. To the point that friends get me to go with them so I can haggle for them.

I didnt know Noel Leeming did gold card deals... Did everyone know that Spark does too now... Only found that out recently too.

I had a warfarin coldie / flat battery yesterday so I was thankfull Id done alot in the morning before it hit. So I spent the afternoon snuggled under my poncho watching tv. First one in ages.

So needless to say I didnt get any craft done.

Bread is cooked this morning, the roast is in the crockpot. And washing will be done. The hip ached all night so I will try and move around a bit more... I want to make a dessert tonight too.. I told MrP its my birthday tea late and His early.. His leather belt that his brother made for him, and a watch I ordered from overseas arrived on Friday so he has his presents lol.

morning ladies :) The plant I was going to plant yesterday is finally in the ground and some weeding done. I've raked up more leaves, I thought I had finished that job lol. The roses I ordered earlier in the year should be arriving soon, I saw on FB Matthews had finished digging up their stock and it was ready to be sent out. Was a slower process this year due to distancing requirements. But their roses are worth the wait. The freesias are up and one gladdy has poked out of the ground so spring will be here before we know it.

I'm going through hand cream like it's going out of fashion thanks to hand sanitising. Not complaining though as it is necessary but it reminds me of when I worked in the dental clinic and my hands were being washed constantly.

Time to move, I have four big piles of leaves to dispose of somehow.

Happy crafting :)

Afternoon ladies, freezing cold here when I woke and found we had no power. Apparently a transformer at Kaitaia packed a sad and cut power from Whangarei north - if you believe what was posted on fb. Anyway it came back on when I was boiling water on the hob for the second cup of tea.

Puss is off to the cattery this afternoon, I'm going to escape to a friends for a few days. She suggested I take puss with me to her place, but it's a 6 hour drive and when she's in the car puss meows about every 3 seconds so I don't like that idea. Was going to head off early tomorrow morning but have decided to leave late afternoon and stay with my son overnight to break the journey. I am now trying to get organised and pack without puss noticing or she will hide and won't make it to the cattery.

Going to take my old sewing machine in to Kerikeri to have it serviced while I'm away.

Better go.

Hope you are all well and enjoying the good weather and busy crafting.

Well other than washing yesterday I sat and painted.. Got alot done and it helped the body.

I didnt knit oops lol.

MrPs leg is improving.. I found the gause thing is simply inpregnated with iodine. So I will get some and keep it in the first aid box.

morning ladies :) Hope you have a fab time, kuaka. Was great to catch up with you too.

Trishy, hopefully someone can help you :)

Yoga is back!! Omggggg it was sooo good to be back at the gym last evening. We were all smiles and laughing and literally ran up the stairs to class lol. I had the best night's sleep too thanks to the class. I had been practicing yoga at home over lockdown but it's not the same as being with other like-minded people.

It's foggy as heck this morning, the fog was coming down on my way home last evening. So I think it will be an 'indoor' type of day today. Ironing needs doing and I have some clothes to sort for the charity shops. The Furry One needs more meds so will pick that up for him later when the day warms up.

Crafting today too, I think.

happy crafting :)

Ive caught up with everything so will have a quiet day. I want to plan my baking session for Sunday for the kids.. I think Ill make marshmellow shortcake for home but biscuits and muffins for school.

Im getting through my painting.. About half way I think.. But I might sneak in a little sewing today.. Then Ill retire my old apron which is disgusting lol.. its about 23 years old at least lol.. So its lasted well lol.

The rhubuarb is just about ready to need more stalks taking off... Ive never see a rhubarb growing so quickly.. Its obviously in the right place..

Safe journeys Kuaka... stay safe on the road.

Evening Ladies, We had a lovely sunny today, after a very cold night. Feeling like a frost it just so clear. I been busy with knitting. Just finished a Poncho for a little girl. She two and half going on 9-10 youngest of six. It was to be posted as she would get some mail. Well guest what her mother send me a message that both where up at the hospital Sunday. Little one jumped off a arm chair and a crack was heard. Lots of tears.Broken leg.

I am busy knitting a baby blanket baby dur in 3 weeks time. Found it hard to fine a colour, as no one knows the sex of baby. It's their first.I did try everytime I saw the father to be. Only say, " both are ok Edith."
A friend dropped off a bag of unfinished baby knit wear and asked if I could finish it and sow up a couple of jumpers. Her mum pasted away the day before we went into level 1. My friend had lived with her mother all her life (59) she has two brothers who are married and lived out of Napier .Very hard on the family.
So no sewing at all. Cut out what I was going to sow, which will not take to long now to run up .
My body is slowly coming right after my fall.
Hope everyone well and enjoying time enjoying your crafting,
Kuaka, Hope you enjoy your winter mini break.

Happy Crafting Ladies.

morning ladies :) The fog cleared then came back and has now cleared again. Sun is trying to come through but there is a definite chill.

We're dog sitting the Fluffy One for a couple of nights, the Furry One is loving having her stay. They are best buddies and are joined at the hip getting into the usual mischief two terriers can get into. Can't believe the Fluffy One is 11 years old and our boy, nine. You would think they were puppies when together.

Am embroidering the rose for the cushion I'm sewing so I can get it finished. Then that's a 'job' ticked off my to-do list.

Mowed the lawn yesterday, well most of it. Got rained on so couldn't do the road frontage.

Have the Furry One's meds to pick up, they have a new system at the vets for your pet's scripts. Modelled on the doctor's surgery lol which makes sense. Have to email what we need and then go pick it up.

Happy crafting :)

Afternoon everyone,
Took the car up for its warrant, and they were flat out, so I walked up to the med centre and did my bloods, then walked the other way to get some glue from Mitre10 and went back and they hadnt even started.. but finally done and it passed. I wasnt so worried like I was with the Rav 4.

I got alof of the first giraffe done yesterday and from a distmance is really nice, so Im very pleased with it.

I want to sew but it wont happen till next week probably. Need to do MrPs hair , beard and nails tomorrow. And Sunday I will bake for the grandies.

When I left our carer lady was on her way to us, so we stopped and had a quick chat and then I carried on.. When I got home I noticed the screen door in the garage was slighlty out of place. MrP had a fall just after I left, but thankfully She was early so she got him up.. hes a bit sore but ok.

Its a beautiful day here now, was very overcast when I left.

morning ladies :) Another bleak day but that doesn't bother me. The Fluffy One goes home today, my back will be pleased as it's a tad cramped in bed with two dogs snuggling up. And yes, I know lol, they shouldn't be there but The Fluffy One sleeps on my sister's bed at home and our boy just loves to snuggle and has to be touching someone when sleeping. If I could just get the Fluffy One to share MrK's pillow instead of mine lol.

I have a few things to do round home this morning and I need a new pair of jeans. I've gone down a size around the hips and two sizes in tops. Wasn't planned but I think it's because of all the physical work out in the garden recently.

Will do some more embroidery later today.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
I know what you mean Kiwimade, but thankfully I only have one sleeping On me. Woke up on my back with her on my chest.. how she does it at her tiny 3-4 kilos and I'm a big girl lol.

I only have a small patch of the giraffes to do today. But I have MrP's hair and nails to do this morning, and yes we are way late.. And I have dishes to do and my baking session to plane and measure out for tomorrow.

No aches from my walking yesterday which is good.. Ive asked Izzy's mum if I could pinch a bit of her paper round , just our street to start with. Just so I get out and walk. I enjoyed it yesterday and I thought Id be in a lot of pain, but I'm not.

Arghhhh the new browser has the spelling check thingee on it so I have red lines lol.. Words like Arghhhh and thingeee are screaming at me lol...

Did anyone see the yarn bombing on seven sharp, in Kumeu I think it was.. Looked like fun

morning ladies :) A chilly frosty morning but it looks like we may have a fine day.

Sooo good to see rugby is back again, I have missed it. Rugby was something dad and I shared a love of. Last season was tough as he wasn't there to debate with lol and then with the pandemic, it was gone for half of this season. MrK isn't a fan so it's hard to have those lively debates lol.

the Fluffy One has gone home and the Furry One spent the afternoon sulking.

I have a bit of gardening to do, I missed a hydrangea when pruning so will get that done, no biggie and won't take long.

Crafting later today.

Morning everyone
A quick check of things before I bake today... I don't have to beat the heat now .
Kiwimade MrP isn't into sports either.. I miss cricket, and I haven't a clue how rugby or league etc. is played. I don't like watching netball, especially if the Aussies are playing cos they play the team not the ball

I measured out the ingredients etc yesterday and managed to knock a jug with a silicon bade over which had oil in it.. So the floor is slippery. It will need a very hot wash, but I decided to just mop up what I could and Ill give it a good clean when Im finished, so slippers are a must so I dont slip. My new recipe test today is a Banana and date loaf.. I almost feel it should have lemon, perhaps as an icing.

I didnt get to my painting yesterday, I was looking forward to seeing it finished but Ill need to sit this afternoon so that should work and help me relax.
I found out on Friday that one of the girls at our chemist is pregant so I might put my cardy on hold and crochet a blanket for her.. shes a lovely woman.

Right have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Looks like it's going to be a lovely day today so I'll be outside as much as I can be.

Our nieghbour's new puppy came for a visit yesterday, she can slip between the bars of our gate so MrK is going to jerry rig something up so she can't get through. The Furry One liked her but she was a bit bouncy for our older gentleman lol. Our boy is pretty active but puppies don't seem to be his thing. He'll tolerate her for a bit then nah, no more. She is a real sweetheart though.

MrK has made a 'please latch the gate' sign, something I have been wanting or a while now. People come but don't latch it properly, it's not hard, it's a farm gate for goodness sake.

I drove a hybrid car for the first time the other day, now that was different lol. So quiet! It was odd turning the engine on as I was waiting or the noise, but nothing. At first I thought it wasn't going lol. But I must admit, it was lovely to drive without the extra road noise.

Coffees finished, time to move. Crafting later today all going to plan.

Morning everyone

Tis chilly here but I think it will warm up.

I understand what you mean Kiwimade, we used to have a sign on the back of the toilet door, with Please Shut the door when you leave, a friends father never did. he liked being obtuse.
There's a sign on one of the toilets upstairs at the med center which says 'Please Shut the Gate" lol it always makes me laugh lol

I baked my little heart out yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have dishes to do today tho... I need to get back on the property managers case tho... I should be able to use the dishwasher etc..

I will paint this afternoon, just been too busy to do any. And it will make me rest the weary bones..
Kiwimade I have often thought that it would be weird driving a car without any noise.. it would certainly take some getting used to lol

Afternoon Ladies, Spend alot of time on the phone again this morning, with WINZ they had misplaced my file. Yes, it was cold this morning and not much warmth in sun today. Spend a few hours cleaning up the back part of the section yesterday and moving and cleaning up a add on to the carshed at the back. Very handy , Has a clothline which is very handy all year around. Garden pots etc for garden weeds rubbish etc and one of two firewood sheds. Fingers crossed I get my load of firewood Tues/Wed. We have a good crop of seedless oranges at present. I have six hydrangeas to prune. It's job I put off and then do the lot in one go. I have been asked by someone if they can have some for a wedding in Dec. Will see.
Did some paperwork this morning beween telephone calls.
Time to move as I have a large pot of pumpkin cooking up for soup.
Hope everyone is ok.
