Morning everyone

Yep shopping day so up early.

Im hoping its not foggy out there.. I never minded driving in it when we lived in Sth Waikato, but am definetly out of practice up here, especially when its still dark too.
I started another teatowel last night, but Im going to frog it.. It feels alot thinner than previous ones Ive done. So Ill do that later.

The diamond paintings arrived yesterday, very dissappointed with one, the Indian and horse one I got for MrP is only small. He will like it, but I sure wont. Ill put it in his bedroom when its done

Lawn mowing day today... the new bit of lawn has gone bonkers and the bare patches are starting to fill in. Our garden center will be open once Lockdown 3 kicks in, although still contactless. Amazing what can be done over the phone and internet. I am hoping I can still get the roses I ordered this June.

The neighbour's dog enjoys jumping our gate and playing with our Furry One. They have no idea of social distancing lol. But when you watch them playing they just look so happy. I do send him home as we aren't supposed to touch other dogs at the moment.

Time to move, I saw on the news there are lots of people gaining weight over lockdown and not to stress over it. Around 1.5 million kilos of flour over and above the usual sales has been sold. No wonder the packaging people struggle to package it.

Good Morning Ladies Overcast here at present. I'm so over racking up other people tree leaves at present. I have my own trees to rake up. Be glad when my lawn guys can come mow my lawns.Have two bales and 6 or7 black rubbish bags fill of leaves and garden weeds. Need to finish dead heading my flowers and cut back some other plants.
What else have I been doing.? Had a chest cold which is taking sometime to get over. Sorted out my fabric, yarn, felting wool.bookart. Just about open a store.Ha,ha. Did some knitting and colouring in.

Big thanks for my friends for feeding me and your lovely little gifts when dropping offsome great meals,baking, and anything else I needed.

Love your pieces that you have shared with us Kiwimade.So glad to hear your new lawn is doing well. Always look forwrd to see what you have been working on in the gardens. The only part of the garden is a patch out from my bedroon window to clear now. Like you I have been watcheing pictures in the afternoon and sometime at night. Thanks for giving me a smile.

Popeye you have been busy turning out some lovely baking I will get back to baking again. Miss baking for myself. I have a few cotton knited dishclothes and faceclothes.Like them. You will enjoy your the fresh herbs and veggies. So keep it up. I'm cutting back my veggie garden.

Everyone else I hope are enjoying doing something for themselves.
I'm off to make a coffee for myself and just may light the fire as its getting cooler here and very overcast.

Was home and unpacked before 10am today.. Im liking this new routine...

Yayay is was good shopping today. I managed to get some hoki, a new breadboard ( I do our lunches on the breadboard rather than plates) and a packet of lettuce seeds.
I gather they are tiny seeds since it says on the pack that it contains 750 lol.

Our lawn is disgusting I really hate it.. I wonder if that will be allowed in Level 3? Im guessing not tho.

I got a free dose of sinus from my trip.. They must have done some fertilizing and the market gardens, cos thats usually what sets it off

Have frogged the teatowel I started last night and have doubled the thread, its alot thicker but its better than being too thin.

Have just had a lovely hot, hot cross bun for lunch... yumm

morning ladies :) I kinda like the 'new' way of supermarketing now too lol. Whatever the wait is, is negated by being able to pretty much get through the checkout straight away. And there are fewer people in the aisles.

Last night we video called our daughter and her family and read the kids their bedtime story. Our granddaughter then read her book to us and grandson showed us his book. Was so cool to see them. And of course the Furry One had to be in on the action lol and both grandkids were so excited to see him. Even MrK loved it :) So I suspect this is going to be a regular thing even when all this virus stuff is over.

Housework today, that won't take long to do. I've lost an ear ring so will look for it as I go. Hopefully it's not outside from when I mowed the lawn.

I started stitching an iris flower before I went back to my hardanger so will have another go at it. I suspect I may need to start again. Thank goodness for a decent stash of thread and fabric.

Time to put the washing machine on and get the day started.

Morning everyone
What a cool idea Kiwimade, re the video calling and reading. I think it will carry on in alot of families now.. People have realised how badly they miss people in their families.

We heard from our lawn mowing people last night. They will be back after Tuesday.. Yay. I said to her its going to be hard for work them for a couple of weeks thats for sure.. We could put silage in with ours, not quite longe enough for Hay lol

Started another tea towel, darker blue and pink this time. And Ive only got about 8 rows to do and then the border..Ive done it double and its nice and thick..
Starting to worry about what I will do next, cos I dont paint at night time, not enough light.
Started MrPs indian and horse one yesterday.. My heart is def not in this one.

I have to nip up the road, our Pak n Save doesnt have Missys puree kisses, Ive asked PnS to stock it but they havent as yet.

Have a friend in Tauranga that had to be tested for Covid yesterday, shes been in hospital twice since lockdown I think it is, but her normal crap breathing is heaps worse, so she thinks its about 5 days wait for results.

Right I will get a bit on FB done and then pop up the road.

Good Morning Ladies, I 'll be glad when my lawns will be mowed and the leaves and garden weeds etc be taken away. Two bales and 7 black bags. Have been raking up leaves every other day.So over it.
Had a test last Thursday and only got results on Wednesday came back negative.
Been knitting a shawl for a friends 4O Birthday. I can take my time with it as we will not see each other till level two or one. Knitted a couple of Ponchos for her youngest of 5. She just about 3,but going on 5. Rings most days to see what I am doing. The questions she asks me.
Time to move and go out and rake up the leaves. I get a double lot as my next door just leave then to blow everywhere and into my place.

Lest we Forget.

Good morning everyone.

A lovely day out there, washing on, will get the beds done today again while its nice weather.

I didnt do any crafting yesterday,,, and only just realised that.

Was watching the news and seven sharp to see our lovely cenotaph with the masses of flowers, Id seen them in the morning when I went out as they are at the end of the road we have to go down to get to the shops..
Ladies went in the other day and pulled out the dead edgings on the gardens. Volunterily and then one of the lawn mowing contractors went and picked up the weeds etc

The council hadnt done a thing on them, Normally by now they would have poppies flowering with allysumm around the borders. They do look lovely down there.
Sadly a few weeks ago, for the second time idiots stole the solar panels that keep the lights on the cenotaph..

Housework today since I am feeling good... Despite being woken up with Missy standing on the tv remote.. She had turned it on and managed to have her paw on the volume at 1am.. Blardy Tart lol

I was watching a video clip of a bugler standing at our cenotaph earlier. It was so eerie with no crowds. Apparently most of the town could hear him.

What scumbags, popeye, to steal the panels. And what lovely ladies doing the gardens. This crisis just shows the true nature of people doesn't it.

Fog has lifted so washing is out. I'm having a cruisey day today. I've put my pattern onto the fabric so will see how it turns out this time.

We have far more scumbags now than we did 15 years ago... Karma will get them tho.

But I must say Waiuku has alot of friendly very helpfull people. Alot of people will help those that need it.
There are alot of people who have the No Waste attitude too.. Alot of recycling here and when it comes to excess fruit, its put out to be taken free, and people share posts on FB so that they know where to go, and if you cant get there, there are as many who will deliver.

morning ladies :) Another foggy day here, can hardly see the paddock across the road.

So much for a cruisey day yesterday. There seemed to be always something to do. Today I'll fill the wheelie bin up with the last of the garden waste and make a start on Round 2 of the pruning. My sister-in-law phoned and said she has plants potted up for me for when lockdown eases a bit more. MrK won't be going anywhere until Level 2 so it won't be for a few more weeks.

No video story telling last night with the grandkids, I think it was our daughter's mother-in-law's turn :D. It's the highlight of our day to be able to talk with and see everyone.

The Furry One was growling this morning and raced outside to check the boundary. Don't know what had been there but there was definitely something. Better not be that damed possum. I don't think I could live rurally without a dog.

Coffee's finished, better get moving.

Morning everyone

Its beautiful and sunny here, but there has been rain.. My babies are slowly starting to stand up in their new homes lol.

I had a busy but good day yesterday. Got alot of stuff done. Have washing on.
Woke up early this morning with really sore fingers.. I crochet and sewed in alot of ends on the teatowel last night, but I cant imagine that would have done it.. odd..
I restored my pantry to tidy again... And it looks alot better. I love a well organised pantry.

I dont have enough of the darker pink and blue for another teatowel so Ill just make some more dishclothes.. Ive had to move some of both to the linen cupboard, the drawer was getting too full lol.. so they have joined some of my new linen.. Almost like Im doing a glory box lol.

Heard a loud bang about 6am this morning, I got up to check MrP hadnt fallen over, he was fine, but he heard it to.. So goodness knows what it was.
And Yes Kiwimade I miss having a dog for Ears.

I see the Kiwi Actor Bruce Alpress passed away, not covid related.. He was such a hard case actor.. 89 years old, I wouldnt have put him at that age, more like MrPs.

morning ladies :) The fog is just getting thicker, earlier I could see across the road and now it's so thick you can't even see where the road begins.

Today I will finish along the fenceline of our little road. MrK chainsawed off a broken tree branch yesterday and there will be another today. I've been pruning back quite heavily and had another 'go' at the jasmine, this time on the road side of the fence. It's strangling a lot of shrubs and I must admit, I've been slack at keeping it under control. The farmer behind us said we can dump the rubbish in his heap as he will be burning it all soon. The fire ban was lifted the other day. All contactless too :)

Not much crafting is being done, I'm hoping once I have finished this bit of garden I can get cracking.

Morning everyone
A stunner of a day here today, so another load of washing on..lol

Was very chilly overnight so Ill be gettng the woolen blankets out to put on my bed this morning.
My hands are aching sooo much, its the worst they have ever been. Even typing is hurting them, but use it or lose it is running through my head. Im going to crochet some wrist warmers out of cotton but ill try and incorperate some finger seams and see how they go. I guess I strained them too much.

Did a dishcloth last night. In double cotton so I havent done a round of single crochet around the edge, so I will soon learn if I really need to or not lol.
I was up and put bread on at 7am.. Using normal dry yeast instead of surebake, its got a little while longer to go, but it smells like bread lol.

Morning everyone
how are you all doing...I wish you lived in Christchurch sunflowers I would happily have taken all you bags of leaves off your hands for my compost. I've been making soup last couple of days I first made a crockpot of veggie soup and then I made pumpkin and kumara it was so delicious. My hubby went back to work today...boo hoo.. i miss not having him at home..we got solo much done in the 5 weeks outside and ofcourse I got loads of knitting done and baking and soup making. Today I plan to fold all the washing that I let build up and give the house a good vacuum and then il be sending the vacuum upstairs for the kids to do lol...that will probably take a whole lot longer.
The sun is out today so will get more washing out but I think I might make myself a cuppa first.
I hope you are all well I just love reading everyone's posts you all do some really great things and its nice to have this message board to kinda talk to you all.

Morning everyone

It rained earlier apprently but I didnt hear it lol... but it looks like it might turn out nice.
I have a mountain of washing folded but will at least get it into the bedrooms lol.
We might get the lawns done today, I guess it will depend on how long everyone elses lawns are.. it will be nice to have it back to normal, cos it was due its mo the day lockdown started so is 6 weeks long.

I crochet one hand warmer last night and have put finger holes in it, just aproto type at this stage. Ill do the other one today and then see how they go. They will stay on and thats the main thing..
My hands are still complaining lol Ill get help next time thats for sure.

Does anyone have a recipe for bread in a breadmaker that uses normal dry yeast? Cant get surebake for love nor money still and the loaf I made yesterday was short and heavy.. Still edible but I want a better recipe.

Good Morning Ladies You would of been most welcome 10ofus to the leaves. I have compose them in the bin and now on my second bin that used for my firewood l.My mower man will here in a day or so. The council is going to come today to cleanup around next door leaves off the road and footpath and will make contact with the owners.
Spend a couple days between ofter jobs cleaning and setting up my weaving loom. Cut out 20 bag and stitched them to take to the local high school for the sick bay. They will have pads in the bags plus a small pack of wipes to give out to the girls. There is a high rate of girls not turning up to school when they have their period. Perhaps some of you can make some bags and give them to your local high schools.

Will the council have came and Vac up all the leaves along the footpaths and road.They spoke to next door.One of the guys has his own leaf vac and is going to come back later and to do my backyard. Big thanks guys.
Have bread that will need to go in the oven shortly. Went to use my bread maker and its dead so using the oven to cook it in at present.Have a batch of muffins to go as well today.
Time to move,hang out the washing and just maybe walk to the local shops as our bakery is open today .... and makes great coffee. I will not be the only one who missing their coffee.

morning ladies :) Did our supermarket shop this morning, was so quiet and I pretty much just walked in. And I managed to find baking powder lol. Pays to shop early I think. I can't wait until I can get to Hamilton or Tauriko and shop at Pak n Save. Our grocery bill is quite a bit more expensive and I'm not buying anything different.

Drove by Maccas to get to the supermarket and only one person at the drive through. Lots of people have lost jobs here as we are a tourist place so there won't be a lot of money to splash around on takeaways.

10ofus, I wonder how many people don't want to go back to work! You kinda get used to being home. I would imagine there will be businesses rethinking their working model and deciding employees work better from home. Son's friend said their company has been so much more productive with staff working from home. Even once or twice a week would be good, think of less traffic and those awful commutes.

Yesterday I finished pruning the jasmine, some massive fuchsias, and a variegated shrub, will start the hydrangeas shortly. I feel mean cutting back the salvias as the bees are still working them so might leave them a bit longer. Lawn needs mowing again! I can only imagine how long your lawn is, popeye. I'm still mowing weekly here.

Better load up the trailer too. Our farming nieghbour has kindly said we can dump our garden waste onto his pile for burning. Saves me burning it :D

I started stitching the iris the other day, it's my second attempt and I'm much happier with it. I usually have a few false starts lol.

l am ready to give up trying to teach Violet all the work l had sorted out are now paper planes. She has learning difficulties and is off with the fairies when l try to show her anything today she told me she likes me as a mummy but not a teacher. We are still waiting for her learning from the govt. She has been out in the bush around our house with her ipad and has made a movie and is now editing for a showing later. She is artistic and has been drawing a lot over the lockdown, she asks how to spell words and gets ideas off google. Her knitting has progressed and most of her teddies have scarves now.

morning ladies :) Hi treens, yes, I feed the waxeyes. I melt one pottle of dripping, add two or three big tablespoons of peanut butter, some rolled oats, coconut (if I have any), dried fruit like old raisins or sultanas (sometimes they get cranberries :P), and enough wild bird seed to make it slushy. I put the mixture into patty tins and freeze until set. Then I just lift them out and put into a plastic bag back into the freezer until I need them. Hope this helps :)

Huntlygirl, please please please don't stress about your daughter. Be a mummy :) As an ex primary teacher I can tell you she IS learning. Maybe not in the conventional way, but she is. The movie, the drawings, being out in the bush, they way you behave in lockdown, it is all learning. Can she help you bake? The measurements are maths. Asking you to help spell a word, that's learning. Making darts lol, well, let's call that geometry. Take the pressure off you both. Formal learning can wait. It is better to have both Violet and you happy.

Yesterday we took three big loads of garden waste onto the neighbour's farm for burning. I knew I had pruned lol but wow, even I was stunned at the amount I had. And that's not counting the four very full wheelie bin loads that has gone. I still have the hydrangeas, a couple more fuchsias and salvias to do.

Today I venture into the world of the doctor's surgery and chemist to get MrK's script filled. So the world is slowly opening up. I know we could always go there during Level 4 but we didn't need to.

I need a haircut! Can't wait for my salon to reopen. I was booked in the day of lockdown so missed out.

I'm running out of thread for my iris and I refuse to pay nearly $12 for postage from Spotlight so I may have to put it down until I can physically go into the shop. Will keep going until I run out.

Huntlygirl I agree with Kiwimade, Violet is still learning, and being in the bush and nature is more than Kids who live in concrete citys can have..
Ive always thought kids need to learn about living, and its much more important than Being a big brain whizz. No good having a univercity degree if you dont know how to cope with everyday living.

Wow Kiwimade it would have taken for ever to get all your garden waste out via the wheelie bin.. Lovely that your neighbour has helped.

I did my second wrist warmer / glove last night and then went and sewed the finger holes on the wrong end lol.. But all sorted now.. But it was warmer last night so I didnt need them.
The fingers are feeling alot better, still there, but not as bad as they were. But this morning Im cutting MrPs hair and I know the clippers are going to annoy the fingers but hes starting to look like Goldielocks lol.. or silverlocks lol.

One of MrPs neices rang this morning.. So we had a good catch up.. She had 2 girls and the eldest has 3 girls, but Finally her youngest girl is pregant and we have a Boy coming.. Yayay. I will say now , said boy will be in his grandads 4 wheel drive off road vehicle before he is one and MrP said he will be out hunting before he is 2 lol.

Yes bloods and shopping today... I must say I hope lockdown doesnt go right through winter, these early mornings might not be much fun when its really cold lol.

No lawns done yesterday, mind you I think ours is in their second week of the fortnight, so it might not happen till next week. Might be long enough for Hay not silage by then lol.

A couple of days ago I watched a video about Tunision Crochet... Has anyone here done it before? The stitch they were doing was really pretty and the video itself made it look really easy. I have some tunision hooks cos when I couldnt get a certain size of a crochet hook I bought a set of them and cut the ends off a couple, to make it a normal hook. Im going to investigate further.

morning ladies :) Our daughter does Tunisian crochet, popeye. Ask her on FB about it. It may take a while to answer as she is homeschooling.

I mowed the lawn yesterday afternoon, honestly, it's like spring out there with the growth. Dropped the level of the mower down a notch so hopefully that will make a difference. Back into weeding today. If I can keep on top of the weeds it's makes spring that much easier. I am hoping my click and collect order at the garden center is ready today, just some winter veg plants.

Yesterday MrK came with me to pick his script up and for a 'quick dash' into the supermarket. Lol, I don't think he will be coming with me again for a while. I think he saw time slipping away and was thinking of what he could be doing rather than sitting in the car. Told him, this was the new normal for now.

Stitching later today I hope. It's a slow process but am in no hurry to finish.

Hello everybody - lovely sunny day in Napier - went out for the first time with Ash - stayed well away from everybody else - he wanted to go over to everybody at the dog park but he is really obedient so stayed with me - everybody pats him and it’s just too risky
Popeye I have done Tunisian crochet - loved it - you sort of get into a rhythm - I made a beautiful blanket when we had the caravan and embroidered a Mexican sitting under a palm tree on it - the weekend I finally finished it Cyclone Bolar hit and our caravan went down the river and out to sea was last seen heading to China - have a go you will enjoy it
Incredible all the queues at the takeaways- hopefully the panic buying at the supermarkets will stop
I have a friend in Taupō homeschooling his two boys - he was asked not to come back to school when he was 14 - he is a very funny man so his efforts to keep up with his kids has been hilarious- between my sons tales from the supermarket and the home schooling tales I could write a TV series

I took MrP put for a short drive around our own town this afternoon... He enjoyed it even tho he didnt want to be out long.
He worried me this morning when he said he's tired of living, he says that often but it was the Im Bored and feel the walls closing in...
We tried to find where then houses behind our house are and Im blowed if I know as to how the people get into their houses lol.. Will play with some maps later and see if I can figure it out.

I cant believe that we have nearly been here a year. Its flown by.

PnS kept us out till the normal opening time this morning, but I was still 2nd in.. and I was first in at the lab and even had my results shortly after lunch, thats the fastest results Ive had in 13.5 years.

morning ladies :) A busy day here for us/me. MrK ordered some meat from our butcher so I will pick that up (contactless of course). He writes the price on the bag and I pay via internet banking. And the garden center texted me so I can pick up our veg plants and potting mix. Gotta love small towns where everyone knows pretty much everyone lol. I have some weed spraying to do while there is no wind and the road berm needs mowing (didn't do that bit the other day when mowing).

Yesterday I spent most of the day pruning and weeding, there must be another one or two trailer loads ready to go. Didn't have the heart to prune the salvias as the bees were going flat out. They have nearly finished flowering so will give them a few more days. Once they are done, that's the garden sorted until July when I prune the roses. Phew, been a busy month or so.

My sister is joining our bubble this weekend, will be great to have a proper catch up and let the Furry and Fluffy Ones have a good play. Once we are at Level 2, we will catch up with MrK's family.

Morning everyone
A busy day for yoou Kiwimade, handy that you can combine a trip tho.

Im a bit flat today so will have a lazy one, Ill only go out if the chemist calls to say my script is done.

We were given a big bag of field mushrooms yesterday, so MrP enjoyed some of them for tea.. Does anyone freeze them at all? I never have so wondered if I need to peel them first... He likes them made in a white sauce so I assume they would be ok after freezing.?

My silverbeet plants are struggling, Ill give them a little more time and see if I will have to replace them. The Rhubarb on the other hand is now Massive. I dont know what breed it is, but its going to be a big producer..

This time last year we were living in a cardboard box city. Another week and we will have been here a year already. And 2 years was the day I went in for my hernia op... And for Kiwimade and I we both have a lockdown birthday lol..... Need to sort timing out better lol.. to have a normal one lol
I might expand our bubble too and have the kids around for a mini party maybe..

I didnt crochet last night.. I missed some of the tv too lol...

morning ladies :) Housework today and at some stage over the weekend my sister will be joining our bubble. Garden is finally up to scratch so I can start to slow down a bit out there.

It looks pretty bleak outside but the weather forecast was for cloudy this morning and fine with wind this arvo, so will still hang out washing.

Good morning everyone

A nice sunny start to the day...

I realised this morning that I didnt suffer anywhere near how I used to in the summer this year.. amazing what good insulation can do.

Our lawn will finally be done this morning,, its roughly 8 weeks, and yes out the back its to my knees lol.. Our lawn lady is bringing her dad with his ride on, to help speed up the process.. Luckily for them our lawns are just two straight pieces down the length and across the back, the narrow strip down the other side of the house hardly grows... She text and asked would that be ok with us, and we had been talking the other day between us and said if she had a ride on it would tame it fast.

I was up at 5-30 putting a loaf of bread in the machine.. So its out and smells devine.

I am going to finallly put some new elastic in one of my skirts Ive had since before mum died,, that was 2011 lol.. Ive been very naughty and had saftey pins in it for years lol.. I just hope it doesnt fall apart with fright lol.

Ive just about done all the background of MrPs latest indian picture, so will be into the colours today.

I need to decide on something to do at night.. I keep nodding off lol. Maybe its time to sew up the Santas..

Morning ladies, my message disappeared just as I was about to press "post". Grrrrr!

I have been very lazy of late, not sleeping well, sometimes still awake and 4 or 5 in the morning and then falling into a deep sleep until 10 or 11, and having the most bizarre dreams. So not feeling very motivated recently.

I have all but finally finished the baby shawl I've been knitting on and off for the last 3 years, just have to sew up the seam to join it into a circle. I've crocheted a border around a baby blanket I made a while back, joined some squares into another baby blanket and started a granny rectangle blanket but just going round and round changing colours when I feel like it. I will donate them all to the local hospital when we get to level 2. Might do a couple more. There's lots of people locally who are on the bones of their bums.

I've basically decided not to bother with the craft markets this coming season, or if I do, I will only do a few of them. At the end of the last two summers I've felt exhausted and wondered where the summer went as I don't seem to have enjoyed it, just been at the markets most of the time.

I had planned to do some gardening today and mow a couple of my lawns (postage stamp sized) but I can see it raining over in the distance and it looks to be heading my way, so that might have to wait.

It was 4 years on Thursday since Mr K passed away which hasn't helped with my feeling glum and unmotivated, however, moving on, I must try to get a few things done. Stepdaughter in Australia suggests I go over for another visit, so I have said I will as soon as I'm able. It would be lovely to catch up with her and her son again. They are the only two of Mr Ks family that I now have anything to do with since Paul spat the dummy when I asked them to start helping with the chores and paying rent. They've been gone 10 months and not a word from them. Oh well. I don't miss them one little bit, but he is such a miser I expect he regrets having to pay rent each week.

I must admit I have found the lockdown more difficult than I thought I would. I'm used to being on my own and I'm fine with that, it's the not being able to go out and socialise whenever I feel like it that I have struggled with, video calls just aren't the same. Also discovered my car battery had gone flat so had to charge it, I suspect it will need replacing soon as it's 6 years old but I'm hoping to keep it going for as long as possible.

morning ladies :) I don't blame you, kuaka. If you aren't enjoying the markets any more, there is no point in doing it. Hopefully that ANZAC bubble will happen so you can get to Aussie :)

Windows today, the worst of the flies are over so I can blat round with the window vacuum. And I'll finally get the oven cleaned, not a favourite thing to do but it needs to be done.

Crafting later all going to plan.

Morning everyone

It would be lovely for you to have the trip Kuaka..

I know what yoou mean with markets.. For me the whole process of making things or taking orders meant it became a chore not a hobby.. Not taking my time and enjoying things I was making.

Its windy as here this morning, not cold tho.

I have to nip up the road for milk. we were given alot of longlife milk, which I dont mind using in cooking and baking etc, in fact its really usefull for that. But I dont like the taste of it on my weetbix.. But it means my bottle of milk lasts a long time.

Yesterday I put new elastic in one of my house skirts and overlocked the edges of a couple of towels, I have no idea how old they are, but I use them as hair towels and they still have plenty of thickness in them, the edges were fraying. So I reckon Ive given them another good 5 years at least lol

I cant beleive the idiots who are having parties and tangies with 100 plus people... Obviously lockdown or their people dont mean a thing to them.. Id rather miss my people now than forever. I reckon we will either go back into level 4 or will be in level 3 alot longer than hoped.

Gosh the lawn looks soo much better now. It was up to the knees of our lawn lady lol... Birds are happier now too, they can see any titbits I throw out for them.
Ohh and the Waxeyes returned yesterday so time to make their cakes here too. Yay.

Morning ladies - just!

I slept very well last night but still had bizarre dreams like mowing lawns in my socks, mowing over the flower garden. At one stage I mowed my mum's next door neighbours lawn and she's been dead for years. I had plans to mow one of my lawns this morning and do some weeding but woke to the sound of rain, and it hasn't stopped so that put the end to that plan.

Heard last night that my first husband's uncle passed away. He was 99 in February and I visited him in the rest home when I was in the UK in 2018 and he was telling me that he organises bingo sessions and quizzes to keep "the old people" occupied! He was still fairly active and had a veg garden at the home where he grew all sorts and supplied the kitchen with a good range of fresh veg. He was a character but 99 is a good innings.

With regard to the markets, yes, I might just do a few, but meantime I will try selling things online again, and then whether I do the markets might depend on how much "stock" I have. I don't need to buy any more yarn for the rest of my life, that's for sure, but as it's already paid for, I don't mind making things and donating to charity. I'd rather give things away to someone who needs it rather than sell for next to nothing to someone who can afford to pay top dollar.

I've just had breakfast and it's lunchtime. Oh well, seeing as I'm not going anywhere it doesn't really matter.

Happy crafting - it's probably the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

morning ladies :) Woahhh we had some rain last night! We needed it though. Today looks pretty wet and wild too.

Yesterday I cleaned windows and the oven, so pleased to have those jobs ticked off the list. Today will be a cruisey day sewing I think with the only exciting thing to do is taking the bins out lol. Wonder what I should wear :P

I did alot of painting yesterday. staying quiet letting MrP sleep... We are in fine form today so its going to be quiet from my end.. lol

afternoon ladies :) i felt a bit lonely today everyone in my household have all returned to work now..i kept myself busy with cleaning and wood stacking i had a few tears though just been thinking about my mum a lot lately and mothers day coming up. Ive just lit the fire so its toasty warm for when they all get home from work. I think i might get dinner started early then after dinner i might be able to get some more knitting done. I hope you are all well.

The suns out but boy it's chilly outside. Bins have been emptied so I can fill them again with garden waste. I should be able to put some in the compost too, will see how full it is.

Lol Kiwimade I couldnt resist re the dress.. I have a black top with a sparly Bow on the front but I cant remember if its sequins or diamantes lol..

I hadnt thought to check the mail until last night and it was rather chilly outside. We have had it all this morning already.

Woke with a racing heart 4 times this morning, annoying.. and Birthday texts. Including one that said check your front door... The Grandies mum had made me a cake and iced and decorated with large round 100s & 1000s, I need to take more notice of the different range you can get these days. lol.

Afternoon ladies, another lazy day for me. The gardening I had planned didn't eventuate 'cos we have had constant showers all day, and I'm not "that" keen a gardener to do it in the rain!

I will have to go into town tomorrow to get a repeat prescription of my bp meds, was going to go today but checked and the car battery was down again so it's on charge. Hopefully it will come up enough otherwise I will have to walk.

Nothing else to report except I have finally finished the circular baby shawl I've been doing for yonks. Not going to do another, the border nearly drove me nuts!

morning ladies :) Managed to fill the wheelie bins before it rained, I still have about two thirds of the garden waste to go but it's sitting on concrete so not killing the garden or lawn.

It's a beautiful day today so might find something to do outside. I've potted up a chrysanthemum I accidently split in two while weeding and might change the soil in other garden pots.

MrK is making boxes for sale out of rimu and other pieces of timber so is busy. He's also making a gift for his sister's birthday this month, a little box to hold all her garden labels. It's really sweet with a cute handle and carving on the front.

I'm stitching the iris, am having my third attempt lol. I've taken out all the background 'clutter' and concentrating on the flower itself. It looks so much better and less daunting to stitch.

Every couple of days MrK starts our car up to 'splash the oil about' so we haven't had flat battery issues. Just a reminder for you to do the same if it has been a while since you have driven.

Morning everyone
Thank you Kuaka for the birthday wishes.

Tis chilly and very windy today, but the sun is shining.

Had a call from the mammogram ladies this morning, so it is back on for next week, will be nice to go to Pukekohe at a normal hour of the day lol.. And maybe if we leave level 2 MrP might be able to come out with me, even if he sits in the car.

Will be interesting to go onto FB shortly to see if the Twin actually remembered I had a birthday yesterday too... sometimes he is so far wrapped up in himself he never thinks of the fact that its my birthday too... Might have to play the Few Minuutes Trump card lol.

Floors and dishes this morning, then Ill probably paint. I started a nice bright picture of two colourful parrots yesterday.. Far bright and more cheerful than indians lol.
