Afternoon Ladies , Sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. garry. Tried to phone you a week or so ago. I read, you had moved. My friend lost her mother last Tuesday afternoon. I was with her as she only has a brother living Wellington. Was up the w/end before. So hard for you both as we all wait now till this is over to hold service or gathering.
I've been busy in the gardens and clearing up in the Dinning/Lounge so I
can have my new firebox put in. Now all the paper work done they can go
ahead.Need to found some outdoor work while they are here. New base, firebox and chimny and flue. I'm. just hoping everything goes to plan. My lawn mower man dropped of a couple of bags for me and took a coupe away. Lunch is over,so just may go for a walk along the greenbelt at the back of our place. All the dog walkers have been out this morning.

Good afternoon ladies, so sorry to hear of your loss gerry. It's very difficult at any time, but must be especially so during this lockdown.

kiwimade - I have an offer for you. I'll pay for the furry one's vet bill, if you pay my water rates. Knowing I'd had a couple of leaks I was expecting a larger than normal bill, but I wasn't expecting it to be $1248 !!!! It's normally between $200 and $300, and even when I had the muppets living with me it was only $340. I'm going to apply for a "remission" but I'm still expecting to pay around $700. Think of all the wool I could buy for that, not to mention wine.

I'm making progress with the baby shawl I'm knitting, only 12 more rows of 433 stitches then I can start on the border. Hopefully have it finished by the end of the week.

Put my back out on Sunday shifting paving slabs that were in the wrong place. I had shifted 4 of the 12 and then decided they still weren't in the right place, so on Saturday I shifted the first 4 plus another one. Sunday I shifted one and my back decided it had had enough, so I spent the rest of Sunday smelling sweetly of deep heat, and paying the price for being so stupid, so the rest can wait a while, as can the garden. I'll have to wait till my back is 100% again before I do anything else outside.

So knitting and sewing it is, and I've started a jigsaw puzzle which I'm enjoying, haven't done one for years.

Good morning everyone
Overcast at the mo, and no wind for a change.

Ohh Kuaka take time to rest the back.. handy hvaing sitting hobbies tho isnt it.

I got the rest of my cotton out yesterday, sick of unstacking several things to get to the crate. So now Im doing a mid blue and green striped towel. Such pretty colours. I plan on ordering some purples and mauves, and maybe orange and yellows too.. Might as well do the complete rainbow lol.
They cant ship as yet I dont think so it will be a long term plan lol.

What does everyone think about the lockdown as in, do you think it will go longer? Im thinking Kiwimade we might be having our birthdays in Lockdown at least.
I have to renew my license this year , and since they are shut, and if the lockdown is extended I will be driving on an expired license... Which even tho I know will be allowed, it will feel extremely illegal at the same time lol.

Have to help MrP make yet another belt... and Look once again for his missing buckle.. And yes I know he isnt going anywhere to wear it, and he wears trackies90% of the time, he gets in a grumpy and is extremely impatient.. So I gave up the baking day to make him sit and watch me go through everything. Wish me luck lol..

Good morning - thank you all for caring - she has been cremated which was what she wanted - we were not allowed to go with her - she didn’t want a normal funeral - she wanted to be cremated then have a big family picnic at Robies Bach at Waipatiki beach - so when we get back to normal we will do that - she didn’t want a notice in the paper but we are tempted to disobey !
One thing there has been lots of tears but also lots of laughter - I know I am biased because she was my Mum but some of the things she did and said she certainly was one of a kind -

Kuaka, I'll leave you with your bill, that's horrendous! The Furry One's bill wasn't as high as we thought as he didn't need the x-ray and therefore no sedation. Today he thinks he's well again as the anti-inflammatories really are working. Hard to keep him quiet so I've had a quiet day too, hoping he would hang out with me.

I've gone back to my hardanger and am pleased I did as I think I've nailed it this time.

I think the lockdown will go the full four weeks and maybe beyond. I guess we will have to do what it takes to get through this. As for the idiots flouting the rules, they need to be dealt with.

There was a time a while ago when my water meter was faulty and until it was replaced I had no bills, so didn't pay for my water for quite a few months, so I guess I shouldn't really complain - but that's not going to stop me being cheesed off!

It's chilly this morning, there is a definite wintery feel to the day so far.

Two weeks into lockdown and I've finished nothing craft wise. I thought I would have more done but the garden has kept me very busy (and sane, MrK is driving me nuts). I've casually mentioned to MrK I should prep the second guest room for painting, just planting the idea there for now.

If the weather clears this morning I'll spray the weeds growing through the concrete cracks and I might be able to squeeze some of the garden waste into a wheelie bin. And the oven needs cleaning, oh yay.

Morning Everyone..so sorry to hear of your mums passing Gerry im sending you a hug, stay strong you have wonderful memories. I lost my mum last August she lived with us as i cared for her for the last year of her life, mums are so special. How's everyone's craft going, I've finished another ribbed beanie for one of my grandsons that I knitted the hooded jacket for and now ive been asked to knit two more for a 1 and 3-year-old both girls so looking forward to knitting girly colours for a change lol. We have been doing lots of gardening re-vamping the vege garden and clearing overgrown areas it's all looking really great. I hope you are all managing ok and let's hope this lockdown doesn't go longer. The supermarkets are doing a great job.

Afternoon everyone

Its colder now than it was at 6am today. And Very windy.

I got to the lab first today, so was first in the door and two of the ladies were from Waiuku.. So I said it was like a family reunion lol... Went around to PnS at about 7-15am and the line was already to the back of the store... but they started letting people in about 7-30ish I think it was... I know I was indoors well before 8am.
It was near normal to stocking levels apart from in the baking Isle. No cinnamon again lol.
Came home and went to New World and managed to get cinnamon the second to last cos there was a lady lloking for some as well, so we took one each.
Went to the chemist and I was too early lol... So had to go back..

But we now have everything we need and wont need to go out again now till Tuesday for our flu shots.

There was a lady knitting in the queue at PnS..I said I should have brought my crochet.. I must say everyone in the lines are all patient and happy and friendly.

Theres another pay off to this lockdown lol.. We are saving money..Making bill paying, heaps easier lol.

Ive finished the main body of another tea towel, and will do the border later.

I looked at cotton online yesterday but with our exchange rate it was nearly double the price in US dollars... So I will have a look on here later.

.Hope you not in to much pain with your back Kuaku.Hope council will let you pay the bill off. That a big water bill.
Yesterday I went to do a topup at the s/market. We didnot have to wait very long to get in and around the store. I was getting coffee and as I put it in cart a kid push a cart into my lower back. Yes,tears rundown the face. A Young guy who was filling a shelf come over to me. Not sure if it was his parents or what they just went on their merry way. The staff was very good to me. The s/market called the police as they start mouthing off to the staff. Had very full carts which where put aside andthe three of themwhere taken of to the station. Young cop took s.ments from staff and shoppers. I was just so glad to get out and go home. So I did not do what I had in mind to do in the a/noon.Have jobs i want to do,will have to wait.
Today I have done some colouring,readed and some knitting. Yes there has been tears as well.

Morning everyone
A beautiful day out there but still very windy.

Ohh Sunflowers I hope you are feeling a bit better today, although I expect it might be worse today... So pleased they got the people that did it.. rest up and take things easy.

I was totally worn out yesterday, the wind while I was waiting outside the chemist was very strong and it affected my sternum and heart.. So i had a very quiet afternoon. And went to bed and no reading, I reckon I was awake maybe a minute once my head hit the pillow.

I did finish the teatowel and sewed all the ends in, stripey ones add to the work lol... And I did a dishcloth in the blue, will do a green one today to make it a set.

Have been soo good at not spending since we cant go out that Im going to order some new paintings to do..

Loving the cheaper petrol but now its cheap but we cant go anywhere lol... by the time this is over we will have a full tank lol.

Found out yesterday all renewals of Drivers Licence, rego and warrants now have until 2nd Nov to be done so Im happpy about that.

I took the Furry One for a walk yesterday and found some mushrooms growing so came home with enough for a taste.

Washing machine has finished and time for a cuppa.

Good morning all - we all had a lovely surprise yesterday - a courier pulled up at all our doors with Queen Anne Easter eggs - Mum had ordered them online before she fell - hilarious note inside all of them - I am going to dig out my Easter bunny and basket later - feel I should make an effort
sorry to hear Sunflower about your experience in the supermarket- the behaviour of some people has been unbelievable -the police had to be called yesterday as my daughter in law was assaulted- she was down in the foyer greeting people with sanitiser wipes - she dared to be smiling and sharing a joke with an old man and a middle aged man took offence at her laughing !
It’s chilly today so I keep telling Ash we probably wouldn’t have gone out anyway - I am conscious of my bad circulation so am wishing I was still in my big house - but decided to move around in here - it is 88 steps - from front door into all rooms and back to front door - figured if I did 100 laps might be worthwhile- Ash followed me round for 2 and went and laid on his bed looking at me as if I had gone bonkers - might add he might be right!
The last time I can remember feeling this powerless was when I had polio as a kid and they wheeled me in my iron lung over to the window and all my family were there waving to me
I found my breadmaker amongst all the unopened boxes so might give that a whirl today - the smell alone makes it worthwhile - you no doubt agree Popeye
Best get cracking on my 100 daily rounds - I read as I go relieves the boredom!

morning ladies :) Omg Gerry, how wonderful to receive those eggs from your mum. I think we are all feeling powerless to help family at the moment, so know you are not alone in this. We will have some sort of new normal soon, so just hang in there. I for one, am extremely grateful we live in NZ at the moment when you see how other countries are handling this pandemic.

Today I tackle all the garden edges, including the edges along the concrete (Oh yay) and will do some weed spraying. I should be able to squash some more garden waste into the wheelie bin that goes out next week. We don't have a lot of household rubbish so can use the space for the garden stuff. I can't mow the lawn until next week as MrK sprayed it with that weed and feed stuff and you have to wait 10 days before the next mow.

I'm working my way round my hardanger, am really pleased I picked it up again and seem to have nailed it this time.

Talking to Robie - the queue started this morning at 4.45 outside the supermarket! Cake mix is the new panic product
Was out looking in my remaining unopened boxes yesterday and found a whole bin of unfinished projects and tangled yarn so am going to sit out in the sun and deal with it - found a lovely little knitted dress I started in Ozzie for my granddaughter size 2 year old she us now 13 - I have boxes of things for each of them for when I pop off - thought I could finish it and when she has a daughter might be nice - obviously feeling very sentimental .My Mum has done boxes for all the grandchildren - can’t wait to see what’s in them it will be hilarious but bitter sweet - she kept a lot of my Dads bits and pieces
to put in them

Afternoon everyone,
Ive had a lovely baking session, 4.5 hours lol.. with a 30 min rest in the middle.
I tried a few new recipes, and I can say although I like peanut butter , I dont like peanut butter biscuits.. So Ill throw them in the freezer for the grandies.Two mixes alone made 120 biscuits.. so the freezer will be full until we work our way through them lol.
I ahve a Steamed pudding all measured out to make in about an hour or so.. MrP wanted a steamed pudding and custard for tea... So I wasnt going to argue lol.

My sanity is doing ok, MrPs isnt much, he normally only goes out once a week, but now that he cant, hes not liking it..

I didnt start another dishcloth last night cos I was meauring out ingredients etc for today. It cuts down on alot of standing time.

Gerry what a lovely thing of your Mum to do , re the boxes.. I bet there will be alot of tears and some from laughing.

Wow now I have a grumpy one cos I told him I am not going to help fix his belt, that he made too small, until I have been sitting down a while and then not until after Ive put the pudding on.. he has the pateince of a gnat and likes things done yesterday.
He has one pair of trousers that fit him and need a belt... but this is about the 5 belt he / we have made and he still mucks it up... on top of the fact he cant go out anywhere to wear it any way... GRRRRR

morning ladies :) Those eggs sound yummy, Gerry. I must do a google search and see what they are like. Happy Easter everyone, a bit of an odd Easter, but at least we are home and safe. Very sad news to hear two more people have passed away from the virus. And so distressing for their families.

I'm getting used to the very quiet SH29, only the odd truck going by now (yes, even over Easter) and the farming contractors have finished.

The waxeyes are back in the garden, early this year and I wonder if it's because the noise levels have dropped. I must start making their winter food top up. Just need to buy some rolled oats when shopping next.

I have the climbing roses to 'tame' today, they need tying up so no doubt this afternoon I will be picking out thorns lol. Yesterday I did all the garden edges and along the concrete. Am thinking when this lockdown is over, I'll buy an electric cutting edger for the concrete. Was blimmen hard work using the spade.

Still beavering away with this hardanger. The outside edge isn't perfect but then again, who or what is. I'm sick of unpicking it and it will 'do'.

Morning everyone, Happy easter.

I thought it was quiete in our new place, but Ive realised there was still a certain amount of noise and that I was hearing the school traffic and noise.. Cos its very quiet now.
Although on friday night we had the police helicopter looking for someone in our end of town. it was like they were circling around our general area. There were rumours of Fire works, gunshots or a ram raid at the Z gas station. But I havent heard exactly what it was lol.

I did two dishcloths last night.. Such a pretty green. And I have enough for at least one more.. I have a bit of the blue left so Ill play yarn chicken and see if I can get the single row of border on it.

Was thinking that the wax eyes were due soon, so I will also make some seeds cakes soon too.

morning everyone a happy easter I was a bit sad I couldn't get any easter eggs to our grandchildren this year but we have seen lots of photos this morning and videos of them getting eggs from their parents it was so lovely. One of our daughters gave us a bag of Freddo frogs and some mini peanut slabs...
we were up really early this morning and out into the garden, it's all looking really good we have been so busy and have got lots done.
At night time I knit and have achieved a lot. My daughter whos on a farm will be taking a lot away with her when we get to see them next. My next project is to finish the blanket I started for her for Christmas then her birthday but they have both been and gone I've only got 3 balls of wool to finish the blanket took 12 all up.
How have you all been getting along in this lockdown? I guess there won't be any excuse for messy yards lol. The weather looks like it might turn here today so we will stay outside along as we can, not that I'm out there at the moment. I think il just make us a cuppa before I head back out. Hope you get another dishcloth Popeye out of the leftover yarn.
I made baby washcloths for my eldest daughter when she had Hudson and she loved them and still uses them for Marley.
Oh well that jug won't boil on its own so i best get cracking before the rain comes.

morning ladies :) It's raining! Can't believe how happy I am to see the rain lol. All the little garden jobs are done except the lawn mowing and pruning the last of the annuals so it can rain for as long as it likes. Yesterday I sprayed some weeds and tied up the climbing roses. Since clearing away the main road frontage (road side) I've decided to let one of the climbing roses spill over the fence. Hopefully it will be something pretty for both sides.

I really have to go to the supermarket, we're out of milk and some other basics as I've been putting it off. Am not looking forward to it at all.

I'll try and do some sewing, I'm slowly working through a to-do list and will have some time to sit at my machine today.

Morning everyone..we have very strong winds here today I think rain is expected this afternoon. We got a lot done in the garden yesterday we chopped away the dead bushes and spindly hanging branches and pulled out 2 cabbage trees it looks really nice and a lovely area to walk through now. Might not go outside today hubby has got computer work to do and I've got heaps of washing waiting for me, I've just bought some towels in that I put out last night and hung out some bulky items when I went outside my pegs were all over the yard from the strong winds. I did a bit of the blanket last night.
Gosh Kiwimade I don't blame you for putting the supermarket off it is a little crazy I tried a different one on Saturday I went to a countdown close to me got there at 8.30 am I was 10th in line but had to wait half hour coz the essential workers were in there shopping they get a time slot from 8-9. The conversation is funny sometimes while waiting in the queue this older man couldn't understand why there is always a queue lol he was whinging a bit I felt like telling him to watch the news.
oh well I'm going to browse TM see what patterns I can buy to add to the 1000's I've already got..you never know something might catch my eye.

Morning everyone
MrP said it has been raining most of the night, the wind is on the side of the house where the bedrooms are on. It got warm and I ended up putting the fan on.
Just couldnt get to sleep last night, took a sleeping pill and did sleep soundling, but still trying to press the creases out lol.

I too have a list of little jobs to do today.

I managed to get the last doshloth done, with the green body and I got two rounds of double crochets for the border.. It looks lovely... And no I know how far the yarm stretches I will do some more sets... Ill keep crocheting till my fingers dont work, so I will have a very good supply of nice linen.

When I shopped last week there was a lady knitting in the line.. I will take my crochet when I go next.

Kiwimade do you reckon we will be having our Birthdays in Lockdown?

afternoon ladies :) Yes, I think we will, popeye. Especially us here in Matamata as we have one of the largest clusters. We're not holding our breath to go to Level 3 and expect to be Level 4 for a while longer. Personally, I don't care. Health builds wealth and we can't rebuild an economy with a sick population.

I went to the supermarket and used their text messaging system to join the queue and it was very simple to use. Texted their number and they text messaged me when it was my turn. Show them the text message before they let me in. You have five minutes to get to them before you loose your spot. A good way to keep tabs on who has been there and when if there is an outbreak.

Going to read for a bit, my kobo has died so *gasp* I'm reading a real book.

morning ladies :) I've had my kobo for five years now and over the last few months it hasn't been fully charging. Now it won't do the updates after connecting to the wifii, I can use it if connected to the computer but what's the point in that?

Last evening I signed us up to the Disney channel :P There are some good docos and I must admit, I'm a star wars fan so I can watch them all in order now. MrK isn't fussed lol but I think he will enjoy the National Geographic part of it.

Still working away on the hardanger, almost finished the outside edging. Can't wait to do the cutting and filling it in.

It's a nasty day out there weather wise, a good day to clean the oven. I've been putting that off as the days have been too nice to work inside. Couldn't find any steelo pads at the supermarket so have these green scouring pads to use. Will spray the oven when MrK has finished his breakkie.

Good Morning everyone.
Sure is wild and wooly out there.. Hope it picks up later as we have to go have our flu shots, but at least we dont have to get out of the car.. But I feel sorry for the nurses who will be doing them.

I started another tea towel last night, a pastel mid blue and a soft pastel pink.. They look quite pretty together. I will have to start storing some in the linen cupboard now, the drawer is already full.
Planted some silverbeet seeds yesterday, in toilet rolls, first time Ive raised seeds for many many moons.

Still have a few jobs to do today, the worst will be going out to the the recycle bin, so Ill cross my fingers for a fine patch lol.

I can honestly say Ive Never seen a Star Trek Movie or anything else science ficton... apart from a weird movie that I was watching with another 'non science fiction" viewer the night before our heart surgeries lol.. I can never rmember the name of it but the guy had horns and one arm was full on muscles etc while the other was normal...
Would have been odd if we had died, after watching such a stupid movie lol. but we both made it lol

Right I need to see if I can find MrPs Nephew on FB.. We havent heard from his mum for a while, and neither of us are wanting to ring the rest home ourselves.. Having a *chicken* moment. Although she said she had put a note in her address book to make sure we were told if anything happened..

It is hot here in Kerikeri had a little drizzle yesterday. I was woken at 2am with a vomiting child so am glad it is fine to dry all the bedding. Violet made pasta for dinner then little Apple tarts so l think she ate to much so today she is in bed with her iPad. She screamed the other night that a spider was eating her so l patted her back and she went back to sleep but next morning l found a big black spider in her bed so she is checking out deadly spiders online. I have just started a nice cardigan for school but slow going because l had a wrist fracture in Dec that is still causing problems.

I cleaned the kitchen yesterday but have left the oven. Not enough oven cleaner and I'm not going back into the supermarket just for that. It can wait for the next shop. For some reason, I thought I had a full can and didn't check. Oh well, what a shame that was lol.

I need to mow the lawn today, the new bit of lawn has had one mow and omg it's going nuts. I'll make a start before it rains again.

Our granddaughter has started school and our daughter posted on FB a gorgeous photo of her sitting at the dining room table doing her writing. She is concentrating so hard and taking it so seriously. But then again, she loves school and learning. A friend in the States said his nieces and nephews grades had improved by being in lockdown as there were no class distractions so there is an upside to it.

Better put the washing machine on and get organised for the day. Stitching later on while we watch a movie. We're getting in a habit of watching movies in the afternoon lol.

Ohh Huntly Girl not a good mix for your girl hope she is feeling better now tho.
I saw the picture of your grandgirl Kiwimade, she did look like she was studying hard.. I used to love school..

Still rainy and windy here but there is a chill in the air too.. So I have dug a cardy out. two nights ago I had my fan on overnight lol.

We went and got our flu Shots.. It was like a Drive through at Maccas or something lol.. throw ya arm out the window, no pinch or anything, just a stab in the arm... But normally I have very sensitive arms and I didnt feel a thing and no sore spot either. Town looked Very dead.

Goodness knows what planet I was on when I started my last teatowel, but Ive done it in a single strand... It will still work fine, so I will have to do the same with the next one too.. oops

Im having a lazy day today... so will be diamond painting later.

Im going to do some price comparrisons online this morning tho for the shopping. To see if its worth going to Pukekohe or not.

Good morning all - absolutely beautiful day - just perfect to go out to the dog park - maybe next month !
My granddaughter in Oz was telling me McDonalds are selling basic groceries through their drive through - said it’s great if she just needs bread or milk instead of going to the supermarket or the servo as they call the dairy
Was thinking yesterday how diabolical this shut down would be if I had no internet or couldn’t stream a movie - listened yesterday on you tube The War of the Worlds -hadn’t listened to it for years and had forgotten how fantastic the music is
My grandkids are enjoying home schooling but can’t wait to get back to school - my grandson is so upset because he got selected for the first fifteen and there is no rugby - end of the world in his book
Not sure if I have already said - tempers have become a bit frayed here - our younger neighbour down the back mowed all our lawns - we all have different lawn men but of course they are not coming - anyway he mowed the old boy across from me and mowed it across not up and down in direction so a right old war has started -stupid stupid stupid
Robie brings my groceries in and I leave it entirely up to him to surprise me - have just had a griffins ginger nut finger - very nice with a cuppa
Finishing off a crochet shopping bag - it’s the pineapple pattern - if ever I get out to the market again I might use it

Morning everyone

Yeah early I know. But I decided to go to Pukekohe for my groceries.. Its not my local but far better value even with the petrol.

Gerry we live up a small culde-sac off a culde-sac and none of our lawns are done.. its starting to look wild and wooly. Of the two houses that are mown by the owner, neither of them have mowed, looks like they have decided not to make those done by proffessionals look even worse than they are lol.. We pay by internet banking, so it could have been done, but Im glad they are having a break.. I used to mow lawns for a living a couple of times.. the last round I had 52 lawns a fortnight. And as big as I was, I was fit back then. lol..
Sad that neighbours are angry at each other tho.

I too am glad we have all the mod cons in this lockdown.. Id have gone potty without my "escape" of being online.

I just have a few ends to sew in on the latest teatowel.. for some strange reason I did it in a single strand, so I will get more out of the balls. Bonus lol

The diamond painting of the meerkats is coming along nicely. I had a day off yesterday and got alot done on it.. Its not the greatest size for detail but when you stand back from it you can see what it is.

Right I will write my list up and make a move..

morning ladies :) Another wild and wooly day here today by the looks of it.

I guess frustration and fear are playing out with the old chap across the road, Gerry. He would have been in lockdown an extra week compared to others due to his age. No excuses for having a go at the younger guy though. A lot of things will be done differently and for some, that is going to be hard. I mow our lawn and omg yesterday was like mowing lawn in spring. MrK had sprayed it with the weed and feed, then add rain and warm days to the mix and it was like spring growth. It didn't help the grass was wet either. But it's done and looks great.

I have a huge, and I mean huge, pile of walnuts to shell. Will do some and leave the rest. I think they keep better in their shells. I baked a lemon, walnut and sultana loaf yesterday, it's pretty tasty too. I suspect everything will have walnuts in it for a while lol.

Still going on the hardanger. There is so much to do around the house in autum, not a lot of crafting gets done.

Morning Ladies :) its a lovely day in Christchurch today the suns out and I've been weeding the original Vege garden but just come inside for a cuppa. Crikey Gerry what an ungrateful old chap he is but very nice the other guy who mowed lawns for you all.
I've been baking as well kiwimade mainly banana cakes which get eaten before you know it
The kids said this is like the old days mum when we were little and you baked al the time lol.
I finished a baby hat and one bootie last night just got to do the shaping of the 2nd bootie and il make a wee carry to go with it. My brother who lives in Australia commented on a post id put up of my lockdown knitting and now a friend of his wants a set done for her grandson who is to be born soon but not sure when id get it posted to her with the postal service in lockdown. Oh well, il just keep knitting it and if it doesn't get over there it will be added to my stash of baby knitting.
Last night for tea my hubby made our version of KFC and boy it was so delicious the kids just loved it there was no talking during tea last night lol.
I hope you all have a super day whatever you are doing.

Morning everyone
Another blustery wet day out there.. The grass is lush and green.. By the time it can be mowed we would probably make hay out of it lol.

I was out. home and put away by 9-20am yesterday... Got to PnS by 7am and was number 5 in the line. They opened half an hour early which was good. I was in a gazebo but it was stil rather cold.. I didnt think to take something with sleeves in.. I will next time.
The shelves werent too bad. Still not alot of baking items..

Izzys mum works at NW now and she let me know last night that they have cocoa powder so Ill be whizzing down in a bit to get some.

I started a teatowel in the morning and Ive only got 2 rounds of the border to do to finish it.. So it was a nice fast one. Still enjoying making them ,, I guess cos of all the different colours.

The rhubarb has shot away and there are 7ish bulbs up.. I think they may be freesias which I love, but havent grown any for many years. And One of our original daffodils is up too, so Im happy.

morning ladies :) Another wet day here, thank goodness. We can sure use the rain.

Not one single vehicle has gone by this morning. We've had the odd one here and there but nothing so far. oopppss lol, take that back, a milk tanker went by.

Not sure what I'll be doing for today but I have a cupboard a mouse has been living in in the laundry so will glove up and clean it out.

Our neighbour's dog jumped the gate to play with our boy this morning, they have no idea of social distancing lol.

I saw the goats in Queenstown on the news last night, what a hoot. I do feel for those who have to clean up after them and for those who have had their gardens munched on.

I finished the outline of my hardanger yesterday, just a little bit to stitch in the middle then I can start cutting. I'll post a pick before I cut.

Morning everyone..

Im a Mother lol... 5 of my 10 silverbeet seeds are up lol..I was hoping for 8 out of the 10, so fingers crossed lol... I dont remember the last time I grew anything from seeds lol.

Still wet here , not too cold and the wind looks like it may have dropped a little.

Yeah its odd with the roads being soo quiet. I admit to taking the scenic route to the supermarket etc lol.. The streets are well, dead lol.

We had a social distancing visit yesterday, Poor Izzy wanted to see us.. And her mum had been given heaps of tomatoes.. So they came around and put the box of tomatoes at the front door, and then we visited at a bit more than the 2 meter limit.. We needed it as much as she did I think... She has a carering soul, so I think she just wanted to make sure we were ok.

So I spent an hour removing the steam base in 6.9 kilos of tomatoes.. and have bagged them up as 1/4 mixes of MrPs mums tom soup recipe.. her recipe takes 12 pounds of tomatoes lol.. But having limited jars means I froze them and will make small batches.

I didnt crochet at all yesterday, the brain was diverted to pain.. So I bit the bullet and took an oxy last night.. I had such a good pain free sleep, and still pretty good this morning... I know I said a while back I should be using them lol... Im stubborn and will probably never learn lol.

A lazy one for me today so I will paint and crochet.

morning ladies :) Congratulations on your silverbeet, popeye lol. It's soooo good with mint sauce, even our kids would eat it that way when they were little.

Mica, the fabric is 22 count, a bit higher than I normally stitch on but my eye sight isn't as good as it used to be so 22 it is until I can see an optometrist. I am pleased with it in spite of the mistakes though. I started the cutting last evening, I cut a bit, then stitch it, then cut a bit more. Mainly to keep the fabric as stable as possible.

We had a little robin visit the garden this morning, we don't see them very often. Yesterday I hung the first of the bird puddings out and I see some sparrows have found it.

The suns out, I wonder if I can get washing dry outside today. I hate hanging it over clothes racks and my drier needs repairing.

Morning everyone

It truely is beautiful Kiwimade.. I dont mind hand stitching for repairs, or making things but I dont think I have the skills to do something such as that piece..

Im not feeling right... have a heavyness.. but watching myself closley.. I wondered if its a bit of the hang over from the flu shot.. not that Ive ever had a reaction to it before..

I finished another teatowel last night.. Ill just keep going while the cotton lasts lol.

One of the rings I had re-sized last year has broken.. right where I assume they made it larger.. So I will have to wait till lockdown is finished to contact them... A bit dissappointed.

I now have 8 silverbeet up... Kiwimade MrP has never had it with mint sauce, but since he likes both he will try it. Mum used to put a little bit of chopped onion in the pot when cooking it, she said it took the "Dirt" taste out.
I put bread on at 6am, so its just started baking, wilbe done by 9-30ish. And I have a lamb shank in the crockpot for me. Making rissoles for MrP later.

morning ladies :) Suns out but not for long this morning. I have some garden waste to fill the wheelie bin up with today, MrK said he would help me with the stuff along the main road. Am slowly getting rid of it all. Hopefully if we go into Lockdown 3 I can borrow a trailer and take it to the dump. But it's the wheelie bin for now. I think I'm loosing my winter daphne bush :( as the leaves are curling up and turning yellow. I've fed it but that doesn't seem to have made any difference.

I'm about a third of the way with the cutting and stitching on the hardanger so should finish it soon. I'm already thinking about what to do next.

Morning everyone
We have a little sun on the front of the house but grey clouds at the back. I dont think its rained through the day yesterday.

I now have 9 Silverbeet babies lol... They are long and very thin lol.

Our lawn is really long and a beautiful green, but everyones in the small culd-sac is matching lol.

I finished one tea towel and amd about 3/4rs the way through another... I still have enough cotton for another 6-7 I think.. After that I will have to think of something else to do. I have considered putting the two santas together that are knitted. But we will see.

I hope everyone is well and happy and that we get some good news at 4pm.. I have my doubts that we will leave level 4.. but will be pleased if we do. but I wont be rushing out to be with heaps of people.

morning ladies :) A real pea souper of fog this morning. I need to get out onto the main road to clear away the garden waste I have stacked up in the ditch but it is just too foggy to work out there. Even with fewer vehicles it's not worth the risk. The lawn needs mowing again, honestly, I'm over mowing! At least this time, the new bit can be mowed at the same height as the rest of the lawn.

Almost finished my hardanger, one last push today and it will be done. Thank goodness.

Looks like we were right popeye, our birthdays will be in lockdown. We will be able to have takeaways for dinner though lol. Don't know what the fuss is about missing takeaways, we rarely have it as it's often quicker to cook than go into town. The joys of being rural lol.

Morning everyone

Yep Kiwimade it will be a birthday we wont forget thats for sure. And cos Im to be 55 it means I can drive without my licence for up to 6 months and not get in trouble lol.. but Ill do it as soon as they open to do them.

It was funny re the take aways cos alot of people I talk to were making their own lol.. I made hamburgers for MrP and I had fish and chips . but I saw some having indian, pizza, home made KFC lol..

I thought it was foggy here breifly. Its grey and dim now.

I have 100% on the silverbeet plants.. They are long and skinny with tiny wee leaves on them.. How do I make them stronger? they look spindly lol...

I finished the tea towel last night and have done the body of a dishcloth, I like to do a row of single crochet around it to support the ends of the rows. So will do that today.

MrP is talking to his Little Big brother and they are tripping down memory lane.. Its doing him good cos he has been down for a couple of weeks. I wish they werent soo far away. It would be good to see them.

I better get some stuff done on here.. we are running very late today.

Morning everyone
Clear here but I suspect there was fog earlier, there was yesterday apparently.

Was a chilly night, Madam kept getting between me and the lappy , so she could lay on my lap. and throughout the night she slept on my side with her butt in my hand, her usual winter spot. Ive asked MrP if there is anyway we could convert one of his trolleys into one I can put the dehumidifier on, so I didnt have to carry it from room to room and it leaves the trolley I use for the groceries free.
I will plug the window vacc in this morning.

I finished the teatowel and matching dishcloth. I play Yarn cicken and have 4 trebles in pink on the edge of blue.. if the dishes complaing they will get an extra dunk for being fussy lol.

So next is a darker blue and a darker pink. Im still undecided one what Ill use the white for.. If I knew more about increasing and decreasing in crochet I reckon it would make anice sleeveless sort of swing/ singlet top. Maybe I will have a look at some videos on Youtube.

Creaky today but I will push through.

My new diamond paintings were at the airport yesterday so hopefully they wont be long.. Only 12 days since I ordered them from America, and it was easter weekend when I did.

afternoon ladies :) It's been a busy morning with so many phone calls amongst family. At one stage we had the landline and mobile phones going lol.

I've finished my hardanger piece, I've washed it and now waiting for it to dry so I can iron it and put it on the table.
