morning ladies :) We're supposed to have rain, here's hoping it rains in Northland too. The paddocks are the brownest I have ever seen and even the rain the other day didn't make any difference to them at all. I'll check with our nieghbour again about their water supply.

I finished sewing the padded bag yesterday, not 100% happy with it but it will do the job. I think it was the fabric selection, next time I buy fabric, MrK won't be with me.

Today I'll cut the second cushion pieces out and prep it for sewing. I need a zip, have heaps of zips in my work basket but as usual, not the right size or colour.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Apparently it was spitting earlier. But I missed it lol. Predicted rain for later tho, so fingers crossed.

Well I got the curtains done. They were a bit long so There I was about 8pm shortening them, and hoping the bobbin wouldnt run out. I even overlocked the hem part I cut off and made two ties for them too. the Bobbin ran out with 3 inches spare lol.. Phew.. The lighting in the craftroom is very poor.

But they look good, the TV blends in and it looks like a movie screen when pulled shut at night lol.

Nearly finished the first hand towel. Just want to put a border around it. And Ive been thinking how to "hang" it in my bathroom. And Ive decided to use a piece of Red Ribbon that I will thread through on one end and tie on the top of the door opening. Thus adding to my red and white colour scheme too.
So that should be finished today too.

But a couple of appointments to make first, then a pile of dishes..

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning - whew I finally sorted out my cotton bits and pieces - a lot of small balls from starting things and not finishing - but Popeye the old girls out at the home won’t worry about lots of colour
I bought all the bits and pieces for my granddaughter to go out and have a lesson making crepe paper roses - not sure if I mentioned by birthday was 29th February so I turned 18 - one birthday every four years takes a long time to reach maturity - anyway one of the old girls made me a bouquet of paper roses and my granddaughter was fascinated- so it’s good for one of those old crafts to be passed on
Better get cracking - Ash is anxious to get out to the park

morning ladies :) It's still overcast and we're expecting more rain too.

Yesterday I did a quick embroider of a ballerina for our granddaughter and tried a new (well, new to me) technique for her hair. Am so chuffed with it. Just need to finish the flowers at the bottom and I'll post a pic. I'll decide whether to frame it or put it in a hoop later and I'll give it to her after her first ballet recital next month.

Two trips to town for me today, one for an appointment this morning and later this evening it's Yin Yoga. The bin man has been so when I get home I can start cutting back some of the dahlias. It's a long slow process lol as I only have a certain amount of space in the compost & wheelie bin so stagger the autum pruning.

I'll finish the ballerina later today :)

happy crafting

Morning everyone

We have had a shower this morning, it came right to the ranch slider so Roly wont be hanging in that doorway... Roly is our Canary but we call him a Aquanary cos he has 5-6 baths a day the nutter lol.

I finished my hand towel, I put a border of red around it and then did a row of chain loops for the ribbon to go through. So I have it hanging across the top of the shower frame. Its works well there.. I try and do photos later.

Not sure what will start next but Im thinking sewing will be next. Im really enjoying it at the mo. And maybe ill go straight into another hand towel, to give me something to work on in the evening.

MrP is still sleeping so the vaccuuming with have to wait.. ohh dear I'm heart broken lol..

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) While at yoga I had an idea for my ballerina embroidery.
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1287694247.jpg

I'm going to unpick the vines and words and redo them as the stage curtain, my other thought was to go around the edge in a circle to 'frame' her but I like the idea she is on a stage. I can't claim the picture as mine as I found it as a sketch on the internet (when I find who drew her, I'll do the credit).

It's chilly and foggy outside and I need to turn the turf over where we are going to sow the new grass seed. But first I have to buy a new garden fork handle as I broke the other one when I stood on it to dig out a plant. It's not the first handle I've broken doing that lol. I think Mitre10 is open early-ish.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Shes lovely Kiwimade.. and I think the side curtains would look really neat.

Bugger re the fork handle. I suspect if I tried to use most of Mrps garden tools they would break.. They are really old and have been sitting outside for years.. but even tho we dont have any garden to dig in, he wont let me get rid of them.

I didnt do any crafting yesterday. Im inbetween things and not sure what I want to do lol.. Im going to be changing my bedrooms drawers around this morning.. theres no flow with where I have things and it annoys my head lol..
Might paint this afternoon tho.. Its been a week.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) My embroidery ended up being a complete re-do as I forgot when you unpick black embroidery thread it leaves a shadow on the fabric. So it meant all the prep work needed doing again lol but that's OK. Am much happier with this idea and have stitched the curtain and grandy's name.

Yesterday I dug over the area we are going to grass as the top soil had been compacted quite a bit by us walking over it and the birds making their dust bowls (the birds aren't going to be happy with us!). Today we are buying a trailer load of 'lawn soil' to top up what is there. Dalton's sell it specifically for lawns and it helps keep moisture in during droughts and is durable. So almost there with the new corner. I have a few spaces left to plant but that's ok, won't take much to fill in the gaps.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Loving the Autumn temps...It was quite still yesterday only getting a slight breeze up about 5pmish

I have started another hand towel. did 35 of the 40 rows of the main part, so 5 rows to go and three rounds for the border.. They look like the Old enamal dishes with a white body and red band around the edge lol

Shopping today, was going to stay local but we have decided to go to the mad butcher, they have chicken wings on special, we love chicken wings.
Its funny cos MrP seldom ever ate wings , vegemite or bananas, being with me he has learnt to enjoy them lol cos I love them lol

Kiwimade is buying soil expensive? Yeah I could ask Gayle at Smithies (FB) lol, but never seem to remember lol.. Ive known Gayle nearly 42 years and was their Bridesmaid in 84 lol... Was thinking about filling the bath and it might work out cheaper than buying bags

Have a fab day crafting everyone.

popeye333 - 2020-03-12 09:16:00

The soil we are lookin at is $24 for a third of a cubic meter, we only need a third so cheap for us and gives us a good solid base for the new grass. Different soils are different prices but generally, if you buy in bulk, it is cheaper. We are lucky as Daltons are just up the road and we can take a trailer and buy in bulk.

kiwimade64 - 2020-03-12 09:20:00
15812

Not bad at all Kiwimade... I will try and remmeber to ask Gayle when I see her online..
Have a friend with a trailer but it might be tricky getting it around the back of the house lol...

15813

morning ladies :) So much for one trailer load of soil, we needed two but it's all done now and MrK is going to rake it over so it's nice and even and ready for the grass seed. We have enough to seed a few bald spots on the lawn too.

Yesterday afternoon I finished our granddaughter's ballerina and am very happy with the end result. I'll see if I can buy a board from the Wharehouse Stationery today otherwise it will have to wait until I can get to Spotlight next week.
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1289428828.jpg

Housework today and I might even be able to get the outside windows done. All the dust from the onions fields is over thank goodness.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Well the night rapidly last night... Was talking to Izzys mum and the school gala is tomorrow, I had no idea, anyway I offered to bake muffins.. so 100 muffins later lol.. chocolate, banana choc chip and Carrot and pineapple.. we kept a couple of extras to taste the carrot one. The reipce is very close to a microwave carrot cake I make..

So my hand towel is still at 35 rows lol, but I will get it donw today.. the bones didnt rest well.. Ill also have to get some more cotton out. I have two shades of pink and two of blue, plus a little green I think.

Ive heard that mail from China is getting through so I could also treat myself to a little painting on the slot too, cos I havent done any for over a week.

The Ballerina is Beautiful Kiwimade

A future family heirloom for sure Kiwimade - stunning
Am pleased I took all the cotton out to the rest home - they may go into lockdown if the virus heads our way so at least they will keep themselves busy

morning ladies :) MrK is spreading the grass seed, finally, the new corner is almost done. Just as well those of us who craft and/or garden have patience lol.

Yesterday I took the ballerina in to be framed and chose a purple matte board for the surround and a plain black frame. Can't wait to see it finished and hopefully in time for next month's recital.

I must start the second cushion for our bedroom, the fabric is there and I've taken the pattern from the seat of the chair. It's just a matter of motivation. I also want to hardanger a cloth for a wooden table that gets a lot of sun, the one I did previously is a bit small. So a couple of choices for me.

I didn't get the windows done yesterday, was busy lacing my embroidery onto a board (priorities! lol) but today is a new day so who knows.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Im sure the picture will look lovely Kiwimade.

I too had a day of not getting things done.. Went to do my stuff up the road, stood too long chatting with a couple of ladies I know.. So ended up getting home too sore.. And Id forgotten to pick up MrPs meds.. so once the meds kicked in I went back to get them lol..

So I still havent finished the hand towel. Some diamonds arrived from a friend to help me finish my Sloth..Yayay... so I might get to that later.

But first I have a few kilos of carrots to freeze. They are soo fresh that I wont be peeling them, just top and tail and slice. Ill do sticks tho Im not going to dice or anythng... Then I will get to my crafts Yayay

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) The Fluffy One is staying with us for a few days, was unexpected but that's fine. The Furry One is a happy dog lol.

Today is the day I get the windows done lol. Have procrastinated enough so will be outside shortly.

I started a piece of hardanger for the table yesterday then found a photo of an iris in my garden and was distracted. Will give stitching it a go, hopefully I have more success with it than the Furry One's picture. So it looks like I'll have two things on the go which is unusual for me.

Better move before I loose motivation with these windows, thank goodness all the dust from the onions is over.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning everyone
Must say I am enjoying the slightly cooler nights and mornings.

I only have the red border to do on the latest hand towel.. They remind me of the old enamel oven dishes lol...

I had to wait for my auctions to finish yesterday, cos I like to do FPOs straight away, but the power went off so I did the towel.

Today I will be crocheting something, or I might.. just might sew up some of the santas that have sat knitted for nearly a couple of year..
But I want to catch up on alot of recorded tv, so a no think craft would be better.

Have a fab day all

Good Morning Ladies from sunny Napier. Spend alot of time sleeping over the last4/5 days with this head cold.Did some knitting that I hope to have it finished by this Thursday if not little one will still be able to wear it later. My house looks a bombshell at present, just taking one day at a time. House work can wait.
A couple of friends came in and clean up the part of the back section and took the rubbish away for me.Will grass seed some of it later.

So pleased to hear your new garden area is doing well. Kiwimade. Like the box Mr K made for you to keep your sewing bites in. I need to replace my box with bites and pieces in. This is where I miss my big brother.
Friend gifted me a sewing machine a couple of weeks ago, I have put it a side till I have time to give it a good clean and oil it etc.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone
A little overcast here so far. I think we are having SW's later so that will be lovely and cooling. Although its not hot by any means.

Im feeling a little the same Sunflowers, just cant really be bothered, just dont know what I really want to do lol.

Our grandies parents are thinking of moving again, we have seen a really neat house that would be even more perfect than where they are now. So they are culling stuff again... so we inherited 2 lovely raised wooden planter boxes, and nearly a bathfull of dirt.. So Im set for planting.. although I think I might get some compost into them first.
Was looking through my yates book and of the veges that MrP eats and that grow in the winter Leeks and Silverbeet will be good. I miss growing veges so this will be fun for me again.

I didnt get much crafting done yesterday, the people from a big survery company turned up to do a crimes and saftey survey. One of those ones that they choose the house not the people.. the lady was lovely tho..

I started the multi coloured dish cloth so I will carry on with that.

I am blessed to have my mother in laws sewing box.. its one of those 3 level ones that you open out. It still had some of her stuff in it when I got it.. I love it and the stuff in it reminds me of different things and people. It would be over my dead body that anyone else gets it, but it would have to be a sentimental person and one who will use it too.

Have a fab day everyone...

A blustery day today, perfect for crafting... If I could decide what I want to do next.
I spent the afternoon looking through pattern pooks etc yesterday and Nothing jumped out at me.
So I might paint this afternoon, or possibly start sewing up the santas.

Have a couple of things to do up the road first and freeze some carrots.

Ohh a question, do the pretty coloured silverbeet plants taste any different to the normal white and green ones?

Have a fab day all

Good morning everybody - chilly today - Popeye my old boy grew the coloured beet in Oz once - the tops were lovely in salad but cooked it was tasteless - looked lovely in the garden

Hi 10ofus and Gerry

Yeah the Kitchen is my fave Happy place. The craft room second lol.

Well everyone must be planting silverbeet, there wasnt a plant to be seen.. Got the compost and found a chive plant for $3.. so Ive tidied the poor thing up.. Its bigger than the even poorer looking plant I have here lol. I will very carefully mix in some compost and plant both of them in a larger planter box.
I dont like the texture of onion but happily eat chives.

I did see some rhubarb plants.. I always thought they were expensive but $9 for the Victoria one wasnt too bad.. I will get one at some stage.

Im going to paint this afternoon I think. its been nearly 2 weeks I think since I did some

Yes gerry I want some that will keep on growing...

While I was online this afternoon I discovered people on here selling Rhubarb Seed... I dont think I have ever heard of someone growing it from seed... So now I have options.

We froze the carrots this afternoon, I had to get off me bottom lol...

I will probably start another towel or dishcloth tonight, cos If I dont have something in my hand I tend to nod off to easy lol..

morning ladies :) wahooo some good news! Congrats on the new grandy 10ofus, you might need a name change to 11of us lol. So nice to hear something positive and joyful.

I've been busy with my sister who is in hospital so the time has been whizzing by. I was at the supermarket yesterday and omg there are still people stockpiling. Who on earth can afford to do that and what bills aren't being paid for you to do it?

I called into Spotlight and it was very quiet so had the aisles pretty much to myself. To be honest, I quite liked it lol. And Yoga last evening had six people pull out, our hairdresser had a bunch of cancellations and the coffee shops have gone quiet. Our town is heavily into tourism so it's all going to hit hard.

Better move, I have lawn to mow believe it or not. The paspallum is going nuts. Funny how weeds grow in a drought, guess that's going to be us with this Covid-19... weeds growing in a drought!

Happy crafting :)

Morning everybody - from the horses mouth so to speak - my son with the supermarket says supply s not going to be an issue except maybe for your favourite Italian olives If there are mass isolations delivery will swing in to gear -
Haven’t picked up my hook - reading one of my favourite books for the tenth time - This much I know is true - if you like a well written book with a great story line it’s a very good read - my old boy loved it too and we very rarely agreed on books
No dog park today - waiting for an electrician

gerry64 - 2020-03-18 11:10:00

Yeah I wonder the same thing Kiwimade re the bills and stock piling. Its totally rediculous.
I dont know why people dont keep a weeks worth in the house anyway.. and if they need something others can get it for them.

Gerry I agree with people re-reading books, but Ive never done it myself...So I remember too much.. Two books ina series come to mind for me. Adams Empire and Kalinda, both written byr Evan green.. Both 1200 os so pages, but I remember a heack of alot of it... But it would possibly be the only two I would ever read again

Our lawns were done while we were out

Hi everyone thanks for the congrats... 10ofus is the name for just myself hubby and 8 kids if I change it I would have to make it 21ofus lol that would be hilarious trademe would be a bit confused and think I've lost my marbles lol... I went to my craft group today I used to take mum there when she moved in with us and she had been going for 15 years so I just kept it going after mum had passed away last august..the ladies are all so lovely there and I sit at a table where we all knit, but today they told us it was shutting down for a while until this dam virus goes away. There wasn't many there today probably only about 70 we usually get 100 to 110 so next Wednesday il craft at home by myself ..actually that happens every day I've just finished a wee hat and bootie set in merino and I'm now knitting a wee pink hat in alpaca it's so soft. I've got lots in stock for future grandbabies .
Have a great evening everyone
Take care

I think its a lovely idea if you carry on having the same Craft time 10ofus.

Ohh lordies 21 is a large family.. I know quite a few families with 7 kids. MrP is one of 7. His only sister had 7, and they have all got alot of kids, The youngest neice has 7. Thankfully most of them are working now, but when I first met them there was 4 generations on a benefit.

I took my cotton and hook and cos we had to play Musical chairs with seeing our dr I got a flannel made all but the red round. Cos I didnt take that. I had to play yarn chicken tho and was working from the inside and outside of one ball. Have finished that now
And I started a fushia pink teatowel.. Its really thin Im thinking only 2 ply, so Im working three balls at a time. but tonight I will cut two of them and rewqind from the inside.. I hate rolling balls.
I had considered selling it on here but decided noo I should use what I have. so I am lol

Sleep well everyone

morning ladies :) We had a very light frost yesterday and it's cold again this morning so winter be too far away.

This morning I'll be weeding and pruning back and I need to order a rose for my sister-in-law that she has been wanting for a while now. It will be my gift to her as she has been very good to us.

On the bright side, petrol has gone down in price, here it's $1.79 :D :D. Perfect timing as I've had a few trips to Waikato Hosp this week.

I've been working on a hardanger piece but have planned an embroidery of an iris from a photo of our garden. So much for the cushion cover lol. Today I'll work out the colour palate and how I can work in the raindrops on the petals. The Furry One's picture is still there, but I think I need more experience before I tackle it again.

Happy crafting :)

Morning ladies, I haven't had much to contribute lately. Last week I went to Auckland to visit my son and bring home the sewing machine which I bought on here before I went away and which he picked up for me. It is the slightly earlier model than mine and sews perfectly. Course the evening before I went to Auckland I went out for a meal with a friend who is going to the US to live, and during the meal I mentioned that I had stuffed my sewing machine and he said he could probably fix it for me, which he did. So now I have two Elnas, one Janome which doesn't seem to want to work and a Singer which works but sounds and feels like it is stuttering!

I have had a lot of cancellations of bookings for the hall - looks like people are taking this virus crisis seriously. Our markets have been cancelled for the rest of this season - the last ones were supposed to be in May, but the ones in August and September have also been cancelled. I might have to do some housework and gardening instead of concentrating on crafts!

It is a beautiful day today but noticeably cooler in the mornings. Winter is just around the corner. I already have quite a lot of firewood upstairs but there is room to bring some more up. I must get the chimney swept so I'm ready for the cold weather.

I hope everyone is well and keeping bug-free. Have an awesome day.

Afternoon everyone
We were up early and waiting for Pak in save to open at 8am.. People wise it was getting busy when we were about half way around, but they had 3 checkouts open.. The wait wasnt long tho.
Alot of boxes in the isles with packers working as fast as they could.
No flour at all in PnS.. went to countdown and managed to get the last two bags there, a lady stood on the shelf and got it for me. She didnt need any lol, a lady pulled in behind me and asked was I taking Both I said yes, she said but I need it for work.. I said sorry I need it for baking for the grandies, she was ok with that lol.
Stopped at New World here and got two more of the big bags, so my container will be full again, with a little spare.. virus or not I would hve been buying it anyway cos I hadnt topped up from the last two baking sessions.
bumped into our Dr and at that stage I didnt have flour so she was going to keep her eye out for me, I thought that was lovely.

I used the trusty wool winder to roll up the cotton last night.. the poor oold thing is starting to creak so I will investigate and see if it needs some oil or something. Its about 39 years old cos I was still at high school when Mum got it with her knitting machine lol.

I was in a ormal summer top when I went out, but I know have a short sleeved top on and my feet are quite cool too...

Sad to see, but understandable that all Anzac parades have been cancelled. Not something I ever imagined would happen in my life time.

Happy crafting everyone

Afternoon everyone.... oh wow popeye you have a big family also big families are great we planned to have at least 6 and at that stage, it was 2 girls and 4 boys but we wanted more so we ended up with 2 more girls. Thankfully ours are all full time working as soon as they all left school they went straight into jobs and it ranges from a plumber, painter, drain layer barista, fire sprinkler fitter, admin and hospitality, driller and the 28-year-old is now a full-time mother of the two the 2 wee boys and it's her who is having her third and her partner is a farming engineer, so we are lucky in that respect, my hubby also works full time and I part-time ..but as our family grew we lost touch with a lot of our friends who didn't invite us to gatherings except for 1 family who only had 2 of their own, they still keep in touch with us to this day we always got invited to bbq and other gatherings and we were told not to get the kids looked after bring them all ...yes life was so busy but i loved it i sometimes wished i could go back 15 years lol...supermarket shopping is quite busy atm lots of empty shelves everywhere..i also bought some flour popeye i plan to do a little baking myself..my 25yr old daughter rung me on her break this morning and said she was going to be making pumpkin and vege soup this weekend for her and her partner, they don't have children. I txt my daughter and daughter-in-law who have babies to make sure they have plenty of nappies and one of the wee boys is still on formula.
Well i best go hang out more washing and I'm going to weed the vege garden it's gotten out of control and then hopefully before tea i can get some knitting done.
Toodles for now ladies and take care

morning ladies :) Feast or famine eh, kuaka, with the sewing machines lol. Am glad the one you bought off here is a good one.

I'm guessing our granddaughter's ballet recital won't be on now, she will be disappointed. Explaining all this to little kids is the hard thing, especially when they have been working so hard towards the recital. Mind you, they could do more than one recital and restrict the numbers in the audience. Who knows, I'll have to wait and see.

I hope people aren't stockpiling the formula and nappies, 10ofus. I hadn't thought of that as our grandies are aged 3 and 6. Ahhhh soup... am looking forward to winter soups lol. Am finally over salads for now.

I see there has been a run on vegie seedlings now. Goodness me, how many of those who bought them actually have grown vegies before? Oh well, this may encourage more gardens and if in self isolation, will give people something else to do. There is nothing like picking your own veg.

I have a friend in self isolation and she's bored senseless. Just as well we all have plenty to do at home. I know people think 'why does she do it' at times, well, now they know lol.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Ohh Kiwimade I hadnt thought about the recital and it being put off. I guess it means they will get extra practice in..

A friend text just on 8am and said she had popped into NW for a drink and it was crazy again... I have to go there this morning to get my drinks cos they are cheaper there than what they wereat PNS.. But I dont mind busy.

I will say Im wearing the name my brother calls me, proudly lol he reckons Im a food hoarder... Well yep its paying off lol.

I think people think they have to be like they are in jail, cant go out etc.. you can still do gardening, go for a walk, run or bike ride.. its not totally jail lol.

Its just as well I have the Patience of a saint.. two of the balls of cotton I would up the other night have totally messed up. So I spent over and hour trying to undo one ball last night. but Id say that I wont get the last round on the teastowel done until tomorrow.. Just as well I like untangling things lol

MrP is still in bed.. he loves listening to rain so I said he might as well stay there.

Have a fab day everyone.. Crafting is getting alot of attention lol

morning ladies :) We had the heat pump on the other night, 10ofus, it was really cold during the day too. Our local NW has put restrictions in place and have an early shopping hour for the elderly and these are to be strictly enforced. We do indeed live in strange times.

I'm going out for lunch today with a friend, my shout, as I would like to thank her for the endless times we have borrowed her trailer over the summer months. No doubt there will be social distancing and all the usual precautions but this is one way we can also support local businesses. If we follow the guidelines, we will be fine.

I haven't heard about the ballet recital yet so will be phoning daughter today. I suspect it will be cancelled though.

I started doing the inside windows yesterday afternoon and will finish them this morning. Bloody flies! This time of the year they are a PITA and I'm doing windows at least twice a week. Thank goodness for those window vacuums, they save a lot of work and water.

Am still beavering away on the hardanger, had to unpick (no surprises there) the outside border as I hadn't lined it all up correctly. I blame my eyesight lol but have it sorted now. Luckily I wasn't too far along when I realised.

Hope everyone is well, stay safe, and happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Wow 10ofus we have had one cool day, not enough to put anything more on that a t-shirt. Im loving the cooler temps.

We have rationing at our new world too.. Im calling it rationing rather than limits lol... I havent heard if they have put in the elderly hour here as yet.

I do wonder tho especially in our cases Kiwimade if they would have a hissy at us if we were there with our hubbies but we arent elderly.. Could be interesting. Mind you Im happy to leave MrP at home and go in after the hour anyway lol.

Izzys mum brought around more dirt yesterday so the containers are looking full now. And she gave us a rhubarb crown that she hadnt got around to planting. So its a shared plant, we will grow it and go 50/50 on the stalks lol. I split the chives to and they are all looking alive this morning.

2.5 hours later I had undone the birsdnests of my cotton. I found a short piece amonst it and that was causing the snarl up I think. So I finished the first pink towel and have started another one. And to think I was going to sell it lol.

Talking of selling, its free success fees for things listed today.

I have more carrots to freeze today, they are the last I think lol...Have done a load in the dishwasher and will do the floors too..

Should all keep me out of trouble and out of MrPs grumpy bum today lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone
Looks like we had rain sometime through the night, but the sun is out finally.

I didnt get any craft done yesterday.. I got stuff together to list on here.

I also found my mother in laws and my stepfathers mothers hand written cookbooks. So I spent time reading through those. One of the paper cuttings was dated Dec 17th 1927.. I also discovered the coconut biscuit recipe that I thought was my mothers, in my Stepfathers mothers book. So I will be changing the names in my written book.

Today will be another day of catch up tv once I have put a box of stationery away.

Yesterday our lawn mowing company put a post up on fb saying that anyone in the senior age range that need help, they would gladly help out picking things up from town for them etc, so Im going to have a word with them and Ill make some mini muffins and pikelets and bag them up, so they can take a treat to them too.

The safest thing I can do without putting us at risk too.. I guess its time we limited our risk of catching the bugs too. Although I have to do bloods on Tuesday and my mammogram on Thursday

Have a fab day everyone and Stay well

Morning everyone
Bit of a dull looking day outside few rain clouds over the ranges but I doubt we will get any. we are still on strict water restrictions the council and NZ Rail are working flat out to lay a pipe line from the railway station in the middle of town to Alliance meat works at the end of town they are going to use the fontera milk trains to bring water over from palmerston North some will be alocated to or water supply.
Both of us have been only gong out if absolutely needed as we both have health issues hubby more than me that could bring us down. and like you popeye we have an indoor fur ball to worry about if we both get sick
I have been busy with my crocheting and knitting have nearly finished a wrap done in 50/50 cotton-acrylic yarn from Hobbii it is blocking and today plan on making the 22 tassels for the ends agin popeye I have to thank you for putting me on to them a few years ago well enough rambling better go and do some house work
Have a great day everyone stay safe

morning ladies :)

Wow, popeye, what a very kind offer from your lawnmowing guys and such a good idea. They are out and about anyway so why not use them as a 'courier'. And a lovely idea from you to bake too.

MrK is going for his flu jab today and there is a script to pick up from the docs surgery. I'll phone the surgery and see how they want me to pick it up, might even suggest they e mail it through to the chemist and I'll pay by internet banking. Flu jabs will be done at reception of the local hospital, not the surgery. There are ways around things.

On the bright side, we have rain! And not some piddly ar** amount either, good downpours yesterday and overnight. The new grass we planted is growing well lol. I really need to get into the garden and get things sorted for winter but there has always been something else needing to be done lately.

I've hardly touched my hardanger, could be because I don't like buttonhole stitch lol and the whole outline is buttonhole stitch. Today I will finish the outline (keep telling yaself that and it might happen :P ).

Happy crafting :)

Morning eveyone.
A wet dull day here too.. not too cold either I have my fan on for wind.

We have an amazing caring community here. And people seen to be bulk buying are certainly told off lol...
We are lucky that the New world here has awesome new owners, very well liked, so its a joy to be shopping there again if I forget something on the shopping list. Theres a light happy feeling there now.. Not under the black cloud like it used to be.

Lindylou Im loving the Hobbi 100% cotton Im using for tea towels. Ive done the main body of another tea towel. Will do the boarder today.

My hip is having a hissy so Ill split my time with standing and sitting .

Id love to go help out at one of the oppies, cos they have banned all their over 70 workers, which is awesome. I guess they will take things day at a time as to if they will stay open..
Our recycle shop has closed for now.

I must ring the med centre and see if the flu shots are in.. I have to go do my INR tomorrow, so could sneak mine in.. and perhaps get MrPs done on Thursday but have it in the car maybe.

Thank goodness we all craft, even tho theres aloways housework etc to do, but the crafting will hopefully keep us all sane lol

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Everyone
Overcast and cooler today. Busy weekend did a big cleanup outside in the gardens. Was very warm.
Today later on I will have a play around with a sewing machine a friend gifted me. Have some knitting on the go at present.
Have my breadmaker on,so fresh bread for lunch. It's been a while since I used it.
Yes, Popeye, I am sure our crafting will keep us all sane
Take Care and have a great dayeveryone.

sunflowers28 - 2020-03-23 11:13:00

I went onto FB when I was done here to find that the med centre had posted what they are doing on their page.
The flu shots arent here yet but yes they will be doing them in peples cars.
They are limiting face to face appointments, unless there is acute stuff happening
We have 13 drs here plus nurses etc, so they have alot of staff to protect too.
No doubt there will be those who will still complain.. most like they are the panic shoppers lol.

Havent crafted as yet. Ive put a laod through the dishawasher and have a huge pot of mince on for MrP. So Ill be freezing some later.

Its odd if I do savoury mince in my wok, and fry off everything before putting stock in etc.. it smells soo different to doing it in a pot when nothing is fried off... The latter being a smell I dont like... But Im trying to stretch food and make MrP what he likes.

will crochet this afternoon
