I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post

morning ladies :) Yep, I agree with you, kuaka, rain tanks would be ideal for anyone living in town. I think a few may spoil it for the many though. We're dry here too and the local council is about to ban all outside watering. We'll be checking with our nieghbours to make sure they have enough water, if they don't, we'll rig something up for them to use our bore or take from our tank.

Thank you but no thank you for the offer, mary-poppins. I'm trying to reduce my stash lol.

Still beavering away on my embroidery of the Furry One. It's starting to look like him now, still not happy with the eye but have left it for now while I mull it over. The colour is right but the stitching isn't.

Washing machine has beeped, I'm well trained by the beeps lol.

Safe travels, kuaka.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Have fun on your trip Kuaka. A school friend has just been to the Moeraki Boulders, it was on her Bucket list, and its on mine... Oneday.

Shopping today, it will be short and sweet andhome again cos its going to be another stinking hot day.
Im so pleased I got dinner sorted in the morning yesterday.

Poor Missy yesterday. I have not liked baths since I slipped in one and dislocated my shoulder and smashed up my face, but yesterday I just wanted to soak my feet, so I put some nice hot water and bubbles in. And this bath has a sitting area at the end so I sat and soaked. She came in, had a look and started crying... I havent used the bath to soak my feet in this house .. So she got up on the seat that MrP made to put over the bath and wouldnt leave me lol... So funny but nice that she cares.

Plodding away on my painting, havent crochet for a few days, but life isnt a race to be finished.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone

Hopefully they will leave us be, since were not on the list.

Did some painting yesterday, its coming along nicely..

Have been thinking about listing the odd balls of wool I got when I won the wool lotto a couple of years ago. Its stuff I know I wont use. So might do it on the weekend if I have time.

Shocked yesterday when we were in Pak N Save.. they had trays with 5 yes 5 passionfruit on... $7-12 per tray. I said to MrP we are Passionfruit Millionaires lol.. We are extremely greatful that the new tennant is sharing the crop with us. The One I ate the other day is $1-42 worth lol...

Looks like we might be missing most of the wet weather coming, Would be nice if we could have a week of it, at least... plenty of enforced crafting to be done then lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. I just needed some down time and do some planning for next few months. Working on a shawl for friends Birthday next month. Going over to our local Wool Shop eithertoday or Saturday. Not that happy with the pattern or wool. Sorry I did not get back to you mary-poppins will make contact with you today.

My passionfruit had a few on this year. Needs a good cut back and will take some cuttings as well. Don't know how old it is as it was here when moved in 15 years ago.
Hope you enjoy your South Island trip Kuaka with your friends.
Time for me to move and get on with some work around the place while its not so hot.
Hope everyone is in enjoying kniting,painting,stitching,sew-

morning ladies :) omgg what a day yesterday. We got tangled up with the traffic snarl up in Tauranga as police investigated the shooting. We only wanted to go to the beach lol. My sister had it worse as she had to go to Papamoa later in the day and traffic was built up to the Kaimai School at the top of the Kaimais. On top of that, she had narrowly missed a nasty accident where a driver took off on SH1 by seconds. It took her four and hald hours to get from Cambridge to Papamoa. Coming home was easier for us all but SH1 was still closed at 4.00pm and another accident had closed the other route usually used as a bypass so my sister stayed with us for a bit until the road was opened. Just madness. Ohhh... and there was another accident at Judea (Tauranga) just to add to the traffic mess in the afternoon. So both ends of SH29 were in chaos. We were all so pleased to be home!

Another hot day today, boy we could use some rain. Not sure what's on the agenda for today but hopefully it will involve some crafting :)

Happy crafting.

Morning Everyone
Sounds like a hellish day in the Tauranga area Kiwimade.

I nipped up and did heaps of things I needed to and then was settled in front of the fb page when it came up thats Id Won a Valentines pack from New World.. was abungh of 6 red roses with 3 lily pods and some greenery and a wickedly delighfull cake with I sure plenty of sugar in it... we havent eaten the cake yet.. And the flowers I put close to the ranch slider and away from madam, The roses dont smell of course, such a shame they dont come with a nice fragrance.. but theyre not hassling my nose either lol.. They are currantly shut in the craft room away from Madam.

Havent won anything for a while so it was nice.

I felt a bit blah yesterday and today isnt any better. so Im just going to have a cruisy day. Im planning a baking session. I havent baked this year. But I feed it to the grandies lol. So in my normal methodical way I wrote up what Im making, how much butter and eggs I need last night.. Today I want to see what tins I can get in together. So that I can have the oven on for the least time. And Ill measure out dry ingredients etc into ice cream containers today too.
Then tomorrow Ill get up early and hopefully have it over and done with by about 10 max.

The rest of the day I will Blobb today lol

have a fab day all

Good Morning LadiesVery overcast at present and just a very light drop of rain. It's EJ second show tonight at The Mission. They are lined up since before 8 this morning. Gates open at 2 some will be having a long day ahead. . Have friends that look over the grounds, just not sure if I go tonight to their place.
Last couple of days I have done very little,so will do a catchup and may get some knitting in later today.
Had a nana nap yesterday afternoon and when I went out the door to check mail there was chillybin with meat, cheese, cream etc, etc in it and a box of goodies. No there was no Red Roses. I got no idea who its from
Pickup 4kgs of crab apples last night so that one more job to do. , plus I watered the gardens as well. I like Crab Apple Jelly.

I 'll make contact with you Monday mary-poppins. Hope you enjoy your weekend.
Like the cake that you got yesterday and the roses.Popeye. One very luck lady.
Long day for you Kiwikmade yesterday with holdups around Tauranga. How your tanks holding out Kiwimade? We had a water tank when we lived in Morrinsville till they put a line along to our place. It was handly to have the tank for watering the gardens after that
Time to move..have a great day everyone.

morning ladies :) Up bright and early this morning and it looks like rain! We were in Rotorua yesterday and had a few spits on the windscreen and a bit of rain coming into the city. I raided my sister in laws garden lol so have a few plants to plant today so perfect timing.

Crafting later today, I haven't had time to do any lately, just been one of those weeks.

Happy crafting :)

Early morning for me too.

I was up at 5.45 am and had the oven full by 6-09 lol.. I measured four recipes out yesterday, so just waiting on the new slice in the oven now and then some muffins and Im done.

I thought it might have rained overnight here too but it hasnt.. fingers crossed maybe today. Thank goodness we arent on any water restrictions that I know of. and I dont water gardens anyway... I do keep the bowls topped up for the birds tho.

I think Ill have a quiet time today too. Painting and getting the recycling and rubbish out to the road later. You have to be quick cos there are 5 houses down our little culdesac, and then all the houses on the big culdesac so bin parking is at a premium lol. The early bird gets the worm so to speak lol.

Right back to the oven

Have a good day everyone

well so much for rain... sigh. Oh well. Sunflowers, we're on bore water so are OK for our tanks :) Have checked with neighbours and they are ok too but have offered them our water if they run short. No point paying $$$ when you don't have too (although a small amount towards our power would be nice but not expected). No water restrictions in Rotorua, lucky things :)

Yeah it hasnt happened here either Kiwimade lol.

Baking was over and done with by 8-30... And Izzys Mum is blown away.. She did however tell me I was crazy for baking in this weather lol... They were busy all day yesterday and I knew they had another list of jobs to do so I enjoyed my Fix of baking without eating it.
We did try the new slice and its quite nice. I would make it again.. Its a good mix tho with dried fruit, choc chips, mixed spice and it was meant to be lemon icing but I did orange...

Morning everyone
For a day that we are meant to be getting rain, it wont happen in a while its a bright sunny day lol.
Not alot on my agenda, I want to give the kitchen a good clean tho, flies are starting to appear so Ill give them as little as I can for them to land on.

Did a fair bit of painting yesterday. Only be a few more days and its done. Very little stick on this one. It will have to be framed.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Overcast again but I bet there will be no rain. We had a sticky, humid night too.

I'm still stitching the picture of the Furry One, have done his jawline and face and now working down his scruff and chest. I've left his eye for now and will go back and redo it. Am still mulling it over as I stitch, I can see it's not right but can't think how to fix it.

I have a few things to do today so will work my way through the list. I need a list otherwise I procrastinate.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Annoying when you know something isnt right but you cant think of how to fix it eh Kiwimade.. Im the same, I leave it till the right way pops into my head.

Was humid here too overnight. Cloudy here too but like yesterday we will add to the total of days without rain. I cant remember if they said 40 days without on Saturday or Sunday.

I have to pop up the road to get MrP some ice blocks. He enjoys one after dinner. Then Ill come back and vacuum and Melt lol.

I have about 1/4 to go on the painting. I was told last night that the Clearance Shed shop in Pukekohe has the kits now. I was going there on Thursday for something else so will have a nosey at what they have.
Nothing is coming out of China at the mo cos of the Virus. So my orders will be slow in arriving.

Im the same with lists Kiwimade, a great feeling when you have crossed everything off lol... Ive always said if you make a list you wont forget anything and it keeps the brain uncluttered lol

Right I best get myself sorted..

Have a fab day all

Good Morning Ladies. It over cast sticky, humid today. So over this weather at present.I',m the same I have to make lists or I don't get my jobs finished or over look something.
I'm knitting this shawl and have windows, doors open and fan going.

Spending my time looking at paint charts,as I have friends coming down at Easter to start painting inside and out. Be a bushman holiday for him,but wants to help me out.
Hope you all can stay cool and enjoy the rest of your day.

Good afternoon ladies, bloody hot and muggy here today - really horrible actually. It looks like its going to rain too kiwi, fingers crossed
Havent started another blanket as i have a couple of orders for dishcloths so i have been crocheting them instead. Just doing 1 per night - it is nice completing something each night tho lol.
Popeye - i too think my diamond painting kitks may be held up - i'm gutted as i realllllly want to start mine lol
Hope everyone is staying cool, getting wet and happily crafting

morning ladies :) The rain lasted all of 10 minutes, just enough for any paspallum in the lawn to grow. It's weird kind of days with the high cloud, like we're in a black and white photo photoshopped with blobs of colour.

I know what you mean, mary-poppins about finishing a project in a night. It's a nice feeling to start and finish in one hit.

NZ Post said they will still deliver parcels from China but they have to get here first. Hopefully, your diamond kits won't be too far away.

I'm off outside, need to water the plants I raided from my sister-in-law's garden. Some are originally from my garden but I had lost them so nice to have them back. Am glad I had given her pieces way back when lol.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
I woke with hope that it had rained, but it hasnt as yet lol... I reckon Ill be oout in it when it does tho .
I finished the flamingoes, I will put it with one that Im pressing cos it doesnt have the best "stickability"
I will pack away the diamonds from that one and put the next lot into the containers. The last one had 15 colours, the Sloth as 30. And they are all fairly dark greys and blues.

I was going to sort some drawers in my bedroom today but I think Ill leave those and just do the drills.

morning ladies :) I made the most of the fog yesterday and weeded the garden before the sun broke through. Still managed to fill a wheelie bin in spite of no rain. The garden is slowing down though and there was a bit of pruning. Almost finished disposing of the concrete fill too :) Will be so glad when that is done and dusted.

I have a mountain of ironing to do so will tackle that shortly. Housework and a general tidy up inside as well and crafting later.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

I woke to a slight pink sky but it left pretty quickly. I dont think Ive ever hoped for it to rain as much as I have this summer.

Did the shopping yesterday, was soo hot. But thankfully I didnt need to get anything frozen.
Dishes this morning and not alot else.. Have been a bit sore for the last few days, unsure why sicne I havent done anything unusual. Our house lady will help me remake my bed tho, right down to a new Valance. Im going white.. lol... And I picked up a white duvet cover too $5 and even tho Missy will sleep on it, it will show me one thing, just how much fur she leaves behind lol.

I started my sloth yesterday. A bit dissapointed cos one colour of the diamonds is completely missing.. The company will send me some more, but it will depend on the Mail and apparently they are still celelbratiing their new year? do they do it for a month or what?

Good morning everyone from a hot sunny Napier.
Have just been and done the weekly grocery shop and now sitting in the shade with coffee. Still making dishcloths, might start a blanket today tho. I've been making a few for the maternity ward at the hospital using my scraps which has been good.
Sunshine, its been lovely to talk to you.
Need to do some housework and washing today, our puppy attacked the junk mail last night so my lounge floor is covered in tiny bits of paper lol
Still haven't received my diamond paintings so crochet and cleaning will have to occupy my time at the mo
Happy crafting today everyone

Morning everyone

IT HAS RAINED..!!!! lol
MrP said it wasnt for long, but the ground is still wet so its better than nothing lol.

Now that I have the doors and windows opened it has cooled the house down a little.. Yayayay lol

I had a good day yesterday. I Threaded the Overlocker Finally lol... I just kept putting it off and having the book helped too.
So I cut out some curtains for my ensuite, overlocked and hemed those. Just in some white fabric and I have pinned some red ribbon above the bottom hem, will sew that on this morning. And then hang them, did the wire and hooks yesterday.. Ohh Ill have to iron them too I guess sice the fabric had been rilled for a long time

Finished the edge on another tea towel and started another one last night. I seem to have my Mojo back again. Im using some cotton I got from Spotlight ages ago and its thicker than the stuff from turkey, so only using one strand. Doing white but Im tempted to put a red boarder around it, even tho I know it will probably run.. Might end up with a marbled look.. But Ill see how it goes.
And will use left overs for dish cloths. Years ago my sister in law gave me a couple she had made and I didnt like them at all.. Im thinking now that she hadnt used proper cotton. Cos mine are much better.

MrP wants watermelon. he has been soo good with keeping his sugars down, but its one of his fave fruits, so I will try and get a small one for him. And I want to get some more corn for the freezer.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies. I have been following you all for about 5 years and really enjoy all your posts. Popeye put a patchwork crocheted blanket up here bout 4 years and very kindly gave me the instructions for the size of squares. I have made 5 of them ,but hope i never see another one.
This thread has saved my sanity for the last couple of years while I have been dealing with a husband suffering dementia. He is now in a resthome.

Popeye, Kiwimade,Kuaku, Sunflower and Flick, you have all had or got problems but you are so inspirational with all you do. Popeye your finds at the oppy are amazing, Kiwimade your embrodiery skills are fantastic and the gardening wow. Kauku with your market days, Flick I do hope your daughter's health improves and Sunflower your gardening and fruit trees keep you busy.
With trade me closing down message boards I am going to be completely lost, and will miss you all.
Are you going to open on another board or do you have a facebook I could possibly follow please. Hate having to ask this.
.I often wonder if I drive past Kiwimade's gardens as I drive over to Cambridge and Matamata.

Sorry for the rambling Trish

We'll have to think of something quickly as the board will be closed sooner or later (especially as we don't stay on the TM approved topics). I wonder if we could set up a FB page although there are other boards out there in cyberland.

Hang in there 1shadow1. Our daughter had PND after the birth of her first kiddie and I taught her to crochet. She said it kept her sane, just the rhythm of the hook and even any unpicking. It was something constant and simple but kept her mind busy. You'll find something to be inspired by, it won't take long to get back into the groove of things.

Its odd how craft helps.
When I had my surgery nearly 2 years ago I fell into a dark place. Was at my worst in hospital and I told a nurse.. So in comes this lovely lady who said she is a dr of the mind forst and body second.
we just sat talking for a good hour or two.. He advice was to stop my no think crochet and start knitting again.. And shamfully she told me I was Normal lol.
It worked, I am back ina good place... With two or is it three Santas knitted but not sewn up lol.
Then I found the Diamond painting... and well that is my addiction now lol

So pleased you started the Page Kiwimade ...

See Y"all over there lol

morning ladies :) It's sunny again *sigh* but we had a good day of rain yesterday. Loved how the kids next door were playing in the rain lol. I have some ladies from a gardening group I belong to coming today to take some excess iris plants I dug up.

There's also a mountain of ironing (again) with my name on it to do so will do that before the day gets hot. Our home is small and nothing fits in cupboards unless it is folded or ironed.

Crafting later, am working along the Furry One's back so almost finished. I think I have worked out how to stitch his eye, pays to leave things and mull it over I think.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

We had sun again but its clouded over again... It was soo refreshing being out in the rain. I wasnt running to stay out of it between shops lol.. Was careful cos wet crocs are dangerous but it was lovely.

Ive got the washing on, Cannot hear beeps in this house cos the laundry is in the garage at the front of the house lol.
I have dishes.. I swear I should buy paper plates, but Im not that fond of eating off them lol... So while I do them MrP will husk the corn I got yesterday, and he can cut the onion for a meatloaf too. He will have meatloaf and Im having toad in the hole.. Yummmm !!!!! with gravy from the shank Double Yummmm!!!! lol.

I got my wee curtaiins done and hung yesterday.. Total recycle cos the fabric was $2 and the ribbon was a few cents, both came from the recycle centre. Just plain white with a scarlet red ribbon across the bottom.
I did a fair bit of painging on the Sloth yesterday and in the evening I did some more on the white teatowel..

Its soo nice not sweltering in the humid heat..

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies. My 4th attempt to post today. Laptop kept losing posts and mixing all the words up so that it was only giberish. I went on facebook yesterday and saw all the posts originally placed with the opening also the lovely photos of the birds and roses, Last night only one post was visible and then ads for videos. Today there are the 3 opening messages and ads for videos. I am not very knowlegable with the computer, but feel that is not correct. Maybe one of you can advise me or else I will see if one of my neighbour's have any clues.

Am trying to sort out yarn at the moment so hope I can do something this evening.

Good Morning Ladies, I saw your Facebook page yesterday Kiwimade looking good. Will join or have I ? Been called away for a couple of days so not sure if I will be able to check my message. Yes, I am taking some knitting with me. Hope you all have a great day.

morning ladies :) That page is more hassle lol and it seems to be confusing a lot of us (including me). So I have opened a FB account for us and will close the page over time. Everyone (well, the majority of us) is familiar with how FB works so this should do the trick. And hopefully, this will be the last change we have in a while.

Here's the link https://www.facebook.com/craftystuff.nz It has the same pic of the roses on the banner but a pukeko in the other round pic. If you are looking for it without the link it's called Crafty Stuff NZ as our other title was too long.

Today looks like sunshine again and I have another lady picking up more iris'. They have almost gone, was so surprised how many people wanted them.

I'm going to have a cruisey day today, not a lot needs doing lol. Although the rain has highlighted how grubby the windows are lol but that's all the dust from the onion fields.

I'll 'see' you on the other side. Happy crafting :)
