morning ladies :) The new garden is going great, thanks, sunflowers. We have an old wagon wheel MrK wheeled between the old stump and the climbing rose. So I am training the rose over the wheel. I have a few plants to move but not until autum but have planted the edging.

Our granddaughter is with us until tomorrow, she arrived yesterday. So a busy day with her today. And I need to pick our vacuum cleaner up from the electricians, the cord sparked so I had it checked out.

No crafting today.

Happy crafting :)

Good Morning Ladies, Very hot here at 7am this morning. Feb/March is our hotest months down here. Hard on the kids when they head off to school next week.
Enjoy your time with your granddaughter Kiwimade.
I sat down last night and wrote down what I need to do over the next couple of months. Look at it again in a couple of days.Feeling pleased with myself as I was letting things get on top of me.
Have two knitting projects ready to go in their bags.
Time to move. Have a great day

Good Morning everyone

Rain Glorious rain... Started late afternoon, it wasnt heavy but the ground is still wet so it must have continued into the night... A bit humid and I have hit low, but I am happy there has been rain.

I have quite a few things that need doing but no inclination to do them.

Had a letter from my fave sister in law yesterday. She is in Lifecare in Cambridge.. Slipped into her letter was about the trouble she is having with her chemo... she hadnt told us she had cancer or that she was having chemo, I think thats why I crashed... She is another of the bigger ladies in the family and such a hard case. I would love to go and see her, but I know I would end up in a mess. MrP can call her this week...

The funny thing she wrote her letter wihtout her glasses and I could read it much better lol...

Right Ill get a few things done here and gradually tick off my jobs.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) Our granddaughter has gone to her other grandparents, we thoroughly enjoyed her staying with us and will see the whole family next month.

The lightbox I ordered last week arrived while we were away yesterday, am so glad I bought the A3 one. It doesn't have a cover for protection so that will be a sewing project added to the 'to-do' list. MrK is already eyeing it up lol. He often checks out my sewing tools, I almost lost my awl the other day to him. I suspect I will be buying him one.

Better get cracking, another warm day today. We had rain and it was bucketing down on the saddle going over to Taumaranui yesterday. Was so good to see it but made for slippery roads.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Going to be a stinker today I think, its 25 inside on an internal wall already. Humid too.

Loved the Sprinkler photos Kiwimade, handy not being on restrictions.. We have fire restrictions but I havent heard of water ones up here.

Shopping this morning, but I have soo little on my list Ill just pop into NW instead.. Cant be too much longer before the new guy takes over. from all accounts hes a nice guy so thats good.

The lady in our old place text me last night, offering me a couple of bowls of passionfruit, so I will nip up and get those. I thought it was lovely of her to think of us.

Lol at the tools Kiwimade, I have a small awl, mrP has a slightly bigger one.. but he will go to my toolbox rather than trying to find his tools, cos he knows mine are in a toolbox and easy to get too. but he was warned,, the first time I found something laying around or down in the Garage a padlock would go on my toolbox lol... I wouldnt do it, but he knows if he doesnt put it back, he wont be going in there.

I got an A3 light pad for my painting and its awesome... Much better than the A4.

Right I better get myself moving, well onto FB for a few minutes first lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Pattern is on the fabric so I'm all good to go with starting. Luckily the Furry One likes to snuggle (even in this heat) so I'm able to get a really good look at his colours and the way his fur lies.

We're on bore water, popeye, so use the sprinkler. We are aware of water conservation though, so it's not on everyday. I set my camera to 'continuous' when I took those pics on FB and took some real beauties of her. <3

Bore water is always soo nice and cold too..

Yep we are still very tight with water, we learnt in the mobile home to conserve water and its a habit we havent dropped.

I ended up gassing for an hour at our old place but shes such a neat lady to talk to lol

popeye333 - 2020-01-30 13:21:00
15659

morning ladies :) For some reason our bore water is warm, they have to chill it on the farm before it can be used in the milking shed. And being held in a huge, black, plastic water tank doesn't help. I'm thinking when it comes to 'doing' around the water tank we should build some sort of shade construction for it but need to convince MrK.

The garden needs weeding again and there are plants that have 'finished' for the summer so needs a good general tidy up. I'm getting impatient lol as I have some plants I want to move in autum to the new garden. Today though, the house needs a good going over. Got my vacuum back from the electrician and the new cord arrived the other day.

I started embroidering my pic of the Furry One, unpicked most of it already lol. Oh well, that's typical me. But his ear looks good lol. I have to keep my stitches small and it's hard to stay consistent.

Time to move, coffee is finished and washing machine beckons.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone,

Maybe paint the tank white Kiwimade, and paint a garden on it... lol.. You have planted the seed, Im sure MrK will "come up with" and idea for Shading the tank lol...

Not alot on today, trimming MrPs beard, mo and claws as I call them.. Missy stands there with her front paws on his knee making sure I dont hurt him when Im trimming his claws.. they both get done at the same time lol.

And the dishes... Ive decided to not bother with the dishwasher, unless Im unwell... I have to rinse everything before I fill it , then rinse them when I get them out. I cant use a finisher rinse thingee in it cos the bits inside are broken. So theres always a soapy film on everything and I use clear glass stuff and it really shows. So Id rather just wash them once and be done with it.

Was hot through the night but not so bad at the mo.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies,The house is still standing and as far as I can see no trees down. Yes,we are having gale force winds.Started around 5ish this morning.Glad my fruit trees finished for the season, crabapple only one with fruit left. The last of my fruit is my grapes which we pick med/late Feb.
Feeling sorry for fruit and vegie growers. This push up the price of fruit and vegies.
Had planned to dig over my vegie patch and replant this weekend.Ha,Ha.
Been knitting away on my shawl for my friend's birthday.

Kiwimade, is your tank iron or black. I never heard of the water getting that hot. I know our tank at home in Morrinsville use to get hot in Summer sometimes.Like your new project and sure you will enjoy your stitching.

O'dear Popeye I would ask if they would get the dishwasher fixed for you. I have on and use it 3 or 4 times a week.Save you standing washing dishes.
Time for me to move as I need to catchup with a new student this morning.
Happy Crafting and have a great day.

I have a plastic tank and it heats the water as well need to run the tap for a few minutes to get cold. I spent most of yesterday lying in the river a portion is blocked off to make a pool. Violet saw a big eel so is a bit worried it will eat her.

morning ladies :) I'm up early as the lawn needs mowing and I want to get that done before the day gets too hot. The wind has just died down for now too.

I belong to a local garden group and about six weeks ago a lady was giving away plants from her garden. While I was there, I snipped a small cutting off her nieghbour's huggee climbing rose growing along the fenceline. Yesterday, I noticed it has leaves growing on it, so I'll be able to plant that this winter.

I'm working on the Furry One's nose with my embroidery, have unpicked it twice now. I'll get there eventually lol. My last two pieces are now framed and hanging on the walls so am very happy with that. When I was paying the framers, a lady asked me if I had painted the waxeye, what a compliment!

Better get moving, the good thing about being rural is you can mow your lawn anytime.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

A lovely compliment Kiwimade.. They are beautiful pictures and I especially love the more decorated frame.

I woke at 6 then again at 8, Unusual for me not to get up through the night too.. So Im running a little behind lol..

Have to pop up the road this morning and I will go to the Junktion (recycle centre) on our way cos everything outside is free and I want some timber for my trolley and will hopefully get 4 matching wheels, that I can put onto the timber and then attatch to the trolly..

Im just over half way on my Orangs and they are soooo cool... And my Sloth arrived too so I have two wainting in the queu now. I still want to get a Meerkat for MrP.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone

Overcast today but ok at the mo.

Had a good trip to the Junktion yesterday. I got some shelving, two sets of wheels for the trolly and another venetian blind all free. They had a Free sale on everything outside.
And got a lovely white queen size duvet, its sort of waffle type fabric, a candy thermometer a cow ornament And three pieces of fabric, a pretty cream and samoln pink floral. I could see a hem so figured if I got the 3 bits I could possibly make a top. All for the sum of $9-50
The fabric which is 100% cotton is curtains, so I have undone the ems and tape etc on two, will do the other one tonight.. Then if I can thread the overlocker I might run around the edges then Ill wash it and it will need ironing I think.. There could be enough for a skirt, but def a top. Its quite pretty.

And if anyone knows where my two unpickers are please tell me lol

MrP is on the passionfruit this morning, and he will feel the veges for tea.

The Orangs are going really well... should be done before the end of the week.. I ordered a Meerkat one for MrP yesterday.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I've come in from the garden to make a cuppa. I've been pulling out the finished plants (self sown so I'll have more) and tied up a couple of dahlias and fuchsias the wind was battering. The westerly has kicked in and for once, we aren't minding at all. Certainly cools things down.

MrK is on bread and butter pickle duty, using or excess cucumbers and chillies. Can't wait for them to be ready as it is really yummy with cold meat and salads. When he's finished creating, I can get into the kitchen and do the dishes.

Kettle's boiled, time for that cuppa.

Happy crafting :)

Nice when there is abundance eh Kiwimade.

We got 2 & 3/4 cups of passionfruit pulp. They are done and in the freezer, blanched some beans, dishes done, washed a couple of blankets and vaccd.. And that is enough for now.
MrP also peeled the veges, Im roasting a chook, Ill butterfly it first so although it will be hot it will be yummy and enough for tomorrow and probably a lunch too lol. Rubbish and recycling to do later too... Busy busy but I do like not having to see a pile of dishes out the corner of my eye lol

15668

Morning everyone

Its clouded over and a little cooler today. But its meant to fine up, I hope so Ive washed a couple more blankets lol.

I Found the Unpicker lol... So it was a faster job to do the last curtain. I think it might be wise to overloack the edges before I wash them. Might save alot of fraying . I havent attempted to thre the overlocker yet.

Izzy made us laugh this morning... She tried hiding her uniform so she couldnt go to school lol... Her Mum said that aint happening on her watch lol.... We expected it hahaha.. Round One to Mum ..!!

Her Mum is coming around this morning with some home grown tomatoes and some scarlet runners they were given, so Ill be back on bean duty tomorrow. They have given us another set of drawers which I will put in the sewing room, to get stuff put away instead of spread out so it looks less cluttered. not sure if she is bringing that this morning or not.

So have a Fab day all

Morning ladies, I'm enjoying a couple of "free" days before the next market on Wednesday. Then there's only 3 more markets I think before I head south.

I am kicking myself, I had an email a couple of days ago from Deramores, with a free pattern for a cute knitted elephant and I didn't print it. Now I've just tried and it says "oops - we've dropped a stitch" so was only available to download on the day. Did anyone download it by any chance. Would love to have a copy.

My beans have died through lack of water, we are on hose ban here. I don't know why we aren't allowed to put in water tanks. It's crazy. Every dry summer we have the same problem and with the influx of hundreds, if not thousands of people for Waitangi day, it just exacerbates the problem. We are only supposed to use buckets to water the garden or wash the car. What a pain in the proverbial.

Good excuse to ignore the garden and the dirty car, and do some crafting.

I managed to kill my faithful old sewing machine last week, I broke a needle and instead of it being in the fabric when I took the fabric out of the machine, it has disappeared into the guts of the machine and it's jammed, so it's off to the sewing machine doctor for it. I can't complain I've had it 44 years or more, well out of it's 25 year warranty and it's never been repaired. When I was telling my son about it, he said "just buy a new one mum". I said, I could spend thousands on a new machine so he said "get it fixed mum!" Meantime I've borrowed one from a friend, a little Brother, it works but it's like a toy one. Certainly prefer my faithful old Elna.

Right, I had better find something useful to do.

Have a super day everyone.

kuaka - 2020-02-03 10:53:00

morning ladies :) I saw that pattern on Deramores, kuaka but didn't download it. Usually I would so don't know why I didn't this time. Buggar about your machine, hopefully it can be fixed. I know what you mean about 'toy' machines too. You should be able to fit a rain water tank to your house, surely that would make sense. There are some really nice, discreet ones that sit beside your house and don't take up much space. I think your council is short sighted. We have a small rainwater tank as well as our bore water and the rain water is perfect for the garden.

Our beans have come to a standstill too. Apparently we need to feed them potash but MrK hasn't gotten round to it yet. I think he is just sick of beans lol.

We were given some snapper carcasses that had been filleted but a lot of flesh had been left behind. MrK has been re-filleting them this morning. He's now got a big Sistema container full of snapper and whatever is left is being buried in the garden. So fresh snapper for dinner and raw fish for dinner tomorrow.

After nine (yep, nine) attempts to embroider the Furry One's nose on my embroidery, I think I have it sussed and even if I haven't, it can blimmen well stay that way. I don't think I have ever unpicked so many times. Thank goodness for a sharp unpicker. Popeye, I keep my unpicker and other sewing tools in a pencil case so I know where they are. I'd be lost without it.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning all, seems like forever since i posted. Ive just been reading all the posts, and everyone seems busy and keeping as cool as possible.
Popeye, wow, i have been helping my girl with her my little pony diamond painting (30cm x 30cm) and man i am hooked..... She does a few rows then goes off to do something else but im absolutely loving it, do you have a recommendation on where to buy from out of ali express, wish or ebay?

I have completed a few blankets over the christmas break - made two for an order, 1 for facebook to sell and have made one for the maternity ward at the hospital. Aiming to make one for the hospital every couple of weeks and drop a bag off once full :)

Abby (my girl) got her cast off 2 weeks ago, she was so happy. Had been advised not to swing on the monkey bars etc at school, but everyone is happy it has done what it needs to do.

Glad school is back today, it has been a very long school holidays. Am looking forward to getting some crochet done tonight, or might potter out in the garden if it cools down (currently 35)

Have a good day everyone

Ohh Kuaka not good re the sewing machine.. I hope the machine Dr can fix it for you.

Kiwimade we have never fed beans with anything, just water...lol And Practice makes perfect.. My unpickers are usually in a safe place too but goodness knows how it ended up in a sistema container underneath other stuff.. Its now on the bookcase beside me..

Ohh Mary-poppins your daughter must feel relieved being out of the cast, especially in this heat. You have been busy with your blankets.
I buy my kits from Ali-express.
A few things I have learnt along the way... Check if it is round or square diamonds, if it is a full or partial kit. The bigger the better definition of the picture, especially if they have writing on. And always be very careful making sure the little bags of diamonds are closed properly or if you go with containers, that they are closed properly. And if you plan on doing alot invest in a light pad, You lay the canvas on it and it shows the symbols heaps better.

Had Izzys mum around this morning for a good natter, no kids at home now so its very different for her.

popeye333 - 2020-02-03 13:13:00
15673

Popeye, is either better... the one she has now are round?
yes those little bags are dangerous, they come in a strip kind of thing and then we have to cut them off the 'strip' then cut a corner off the top. Currently the open bags are being stood up in a yogurt pottle - however i have seen the containers that you can get - they look brilliant. I was surprised that there were so many left over 'drills' i think they are called lol and sorry to keep asking questions - im just wondering what is best to start with for me haha

mary-poppins - 2020-02-03 14:10:00

This morning I bit the bullet and bought another old Elna on here, slightly older model than the one I'm used to - basically the difference is in the knobs on it, other than that I think it's the same. $60 buy now. Son picked it up for me this afternoon and I will get it asap. Meantime I will struggle on with the borrowed one (which is a pain because it only has one spool/bobbin - I have around 40 so I am cursing every time I have to change threads!) I will take mine to the doc when I get back at the end of the month.

kuaka - 2020-02-03 19:13:00
15675

morning ladies :) Good on you ,kuaka. That's an awesome price for an old machine.

Foggy here this morning thanks to the hot days and cool nights. Any moisture on the ground is welcome though.

Yoga classes start this evening, can't wait as I have missed it.

Our granddaughter was back at school yesterday, I texted daughter around 6.00pm and she said grandy was in bed, sound asleep. She was exhausted but very happy. I bet there were a few kids around the country doing the same thing.

The embroidery of the Furry One is coming along nicely now that I have made peace with the nose part. My to-do list is growing so am planning next projects in between. This piece will take a while though as it is single threads and quite a reasonable size.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Mary-poppins at the leastpop along to one of your $2 type shops and buy some mini zip lock bags, at least they can be sealed off.
I use the storage which are like small tic tac containers, cos they can be opened and closed with one hand.

We had an interesting start to the day. The Sky box was turned off, tried to turn it on and it wouldnt, then it started smoking.. So I have booked the technician to come and replace it.... All the stuff we had recorded, once again gone... Motorbike stuff for MrP , shows with Johnny cash stuff he wanted to show his brother... Im just pleased we were up and saw it smoke. Or it could have been totally different.

I have to pop up the street this morning... I woke early and must have been on my back all night cos I could barely walk.. Had visions of having to use the walker, but I took meds and rolled into a ball and it has improved thank goodness.. It hasnt been like that for a couple of years.

Its soo quiet and now I have to concentrate on what MrP is saying lol... Thank goodness we will have it back for my fave show tomorrow night lol.

Have a fab day everyone

I would suggest the small medicine containers from the 2.00 shop. The ones that are for 7 days and 4 times a day. No. them 1 to 28 and I just half fill them from the ziplock bags they come in so I have spares in an emergency.. Do check out you tube for their ideas for rolling them and straightening the curling paper. Enjoy

morning ladies :) Ohh buggar about the Sky box, popeye. Maybe they can recover MrK's favs. We have a lotttt of Johnny Cash music, MrK is also a fan.

Mary-poppins, it's always good to try something new. My sister has recently had surgery so had enforced days off work. She discovered the diamond painting to kill the boredom and loves it.

I had my first yin yoga class for months, didn't go last term for some stupid reason. As soon as I lay on my yoga mat it was ahhhhhh, I've missed this! I had such a deep sleep last night thanks to the class, nothing would have woken me. My body is telling me this morning what an idiot I was not to go last term lol. But to be fair, even with all that really heavy concrete lifting and digging, I had no back pain. So the effects must last a while.

Another hot day today so I'm going outside to get done what needs to be done this morning before skivving off back inside when it gets too hot. And I need to buy some bait as we are going fishing soon, will be good to get t he surfcaster wet.

Crafting later :)

happy crafting.

Morning everyone

And we are still waiting lol.. he rang last night and said he would be here between 8-10am.. Something must have delayed him... I dont know that anything will be recoverable cos they couldnt last time ti happened. But this time with it smoking theres no way Im plugging it back in.

Of course I set my alarm which meant I woke up every hour through the night.
So I got up at 6-45 am and have blanched and frozen beans, done the dishes, put the single linen into the drawers in the spare room, why I didnt think of that before I dont know... And managed to get a small rip in one of the sheets cos theres a screw sticking out... Ill zig zag it, its only tiny, before I use the sheets. Sorted out the linen cupboards and straightened it all up, I hate messy linen cupboards.

So its been a productive morning..

I could paint and sure as eggs the minute I set up he would arrive lol.

I realised last night that with tomorrow being Waitangi day I wont be visiting any oppies when Im out doing the shopping...

Ohh well I did one of the local ones yesterday and got a white single valance ( Box pleated), a piece of pretty green nightie material, an afternoon tea table cloth and a chocolate dipper all from the freebie bin outside.. Washed the mark off the valance... and got a pretty piece of blue fabric with white dots and a border of flowers along the bottom, some tupperware Parfait glasses remember the pale grey ones? and a silicon 12 hole muffin tray and its not a thin nasty one, all for the grand sum of $4.

it was quite pleasant sitting and talking last night for a change and I of course am loving the peace and quiet lol..

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning everyone

Well the guy finally arrived at 1-15ish. and took just amatter of minutes to change things over. So MrP is happy again.. Its the third time the guy has been here in just under the 9 months we have been here lol.

I did get alot done while we were waiting. After mrP settled into his Westerns I popped up the road to buy some birthday presents.

An 11 year old girl and 8 year old boy... They are into origami at the mo so I went with that and got a block of bright 15 cm squares 100 sheets in it, a larger rectangle in pastels, and an A4 pad of Glittery Sticker paper and a punch cutter each. Heart for the girl and stars for the boy. (Izzys sister and brother).
When I told there mum what I got, I said I avoided anything like glue, lose glitter, slime and anything else that will create too much of a mess she was pleased. Any mess from what I got can be vaccuumed lol.. Got them a large bag of twisties and rashuns too.. so $12 per present and I know they will share with siblings, another next month will get the same... It was fun tho, not something I get to do everyday.

Shopping today, I kinda expect it to be busy but it doesnt bother me.

My painting is coming along nicely.

Have a fab day everyone and hopefully it wont be too hot again. Yesterday was lovely

popeye333 - 2020-02-06 09:10:00
15683

morning ladies :) It's not too hot today with the wind so easy to be outside. I've weeded for a bit, staked up a dahlia that had flopped over and deheaded some roses. My poor blackberry nip has been struggling all summer so gave it a good hard prune back. I thought I had lost it as the leaves and flowers were all dead and there was lots of die back and I was prepared to dig it out. Once I lopped off a cane I saw it was still alive (barely) so have given it a good feed and will see how it goes. My 'Bother Cadfael' climber is just not 'doing' so had a stern word with it lol. Am tired of babying it along and have already found a replacement so will order it tomorrow when in town.

I've been thinking about your water and not being allowed to have water tanks, kuaka. I wonder if the council are worried if people had the tanks they would be filling them from the town supply which reduces the amount of water for everyone. I read online the Far North will be running out of water shortly so it's a real problem than needs sorting.

I've unpicked my embroidery (well some of it) as the grey I was using was just too dark. Am happy with it now lol. Thank goodness I have a good stash of threads and a sharp unpicker.

Happy crafting :)

Afternoon everyone

Another beautiful day, but plenty of breeze, hot in the car tho.

Popped up and did my blood, I dont imgaine it will be good cos it didnt want to clot... oops.
Popped into the oppy and found this huge cream bell that will be perfect on the tree wreath I plan to make. And I have put some bead listings on Ali express on my wish list.. I looked on pinterest last night and am sticking with my original midnight idea, so will order some beads in the next little while.
Saw three older ladies that we know while I was in the oppy so we had a good catch up lol.. Both now have lost their hubbies.

I have a strip about 5 cms deep across the bottom of my paintintg to do then it is finished.

I have a hankering to sew, so once the drawers are in and sorted I plan on shortening a long skirt I made in the country music days in Taranaki and I have a fave top that I want to pull apart and use as a pattern.

I hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Popeye if you don't want to deconstruct your top you can copy it using Glad Press'n' Seal. Stick it on in layers then mark where seams are, remove as one piece and stick on paper, add seam allowances etc and you are good to go.

morning ladies :) Another beautiful day on the cards today. The ground is certainly drying out, we must almost be at drought conditions.

There's a guy selling corn on the side of the road around here so think I'll track him down and buy some for the freezer. Just throw it all into a bag, husk and all and pop in freezer. The easiest veg ever to freeze. Saves plastic and why wrap or bag anyway when the corn has it's own wrapping.

Tomorrow the whole district is having a power cut all day while they work on the Karapiro Dam. Better make sure we have enough water in the fridge and washing is done early, might even do that tonight.

Crafting later, am embroidering the Furry One's eye... sigh... this means a lot of unpicking, just not happy with it. I think I'll have a tutu on another piece of fabric.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Another stunning day by the looks... But very little wind so I expect it to get hot.
Had some drawers given to me yesterday so they were delivered so I had a sort around in the sewing room, just a little more to do. I want the material put into the drawers but for the last few days my sternum has been complaining, so I wont do that today.
So dishes and a spot vacc this morning.

I will have to get some more cotton out tho, Im not pleased with the thickness difference on the cotton tea towel Im doing. They are awesome to use tho.. but I think perhaps I should have washed them first to get rid of the fluff it has lol.

Have an awesome day everyone

Morning everyone
Another nice day out there.

I finished my orangutans yesterday and I absolutely love it..
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1265597481.jpg

Its funny cos I knew when I was doing the eyes but didnt notice the colour changes for their noses lol.

Washing is on, and other than picking up some more passionfruit I think I will potter in the sewing room.
It was already 23 when I got up this morning but with the doors open the house has cooled a little.

Hope everyone is having an awesome time

morning ladies. We had no power from 8.00am until 4.00pm yesterday (was supposed to be 6.00pm) so we went fishing. No luck there but a good day out anyway. And it was much cooler on the coast.

Shortly I'm going out to do the lawn edges and mow. It won't take long as the lawn isn't terribly long, just needs a tidy up. I bought some cheap plants from the Warehouse the other day as they hadn't been watered and were just hanging in there. Left them to soak in a bucket of water with some seaweed fert in it and they have bounced back good as new. So will plant them too.

Crafting later when the day gets too hot.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
When i saw your post on fb about the power Kiwimade I figured you might go fishing. Bugger that you didnt catch anything.

MrP decided he wanted to do the other side of the garage yesterday, I was set to spend time in the sewing room, so it raised my hackles, I got annoyed mainly cos he knewI wanted to be in the sewing room.

But after going and getting more than a bucketfull of passionfruit we went into the garage.. When I say we did the garage, I mean I did it and he watched.lol But I found the webbing and a box that should be in my wardrobe.
I went into the sewing room in the afternoon and got my fabric into the drawers so Im pleased at that.
Got the second candlewick bedspread washed and dried too. I threw it over the clothes airer and put it between the two doors lol..cos the clothes line was full already.
My aims this week is condensing wool in the pantries so I can get the little sets of plastic drawers into one of the pantries.
And I want to go through my warbrobe and resort it, it has two places to hang on the back wall, tops and bottoms and then a long area for dresses etc. With a shelf above the tops part and plentry of room on the floor too.

Am doing an edging on a teatowel. Its more square than rectangle but it doesnt matter what shape they are I figure lol.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies:) Well I mowed most of the lawn then we were off to Hamilton to tow son's car in for repairs. The clutch cable went. Luckily it happened at his flat and the car was being put in neutral and the car was facing the right way round for towing up the steep drive. When I drove his car I said to him I thought the clutch was dodgy, funny how you remember these things. And of course there were all the jokes about so this is the first time you've driven me in a car and it's being towed!

Today I'm back finishing the lawn and finally getting those plants in the ground. When it gets too hot. I'll be back inside. Windows need doing but that's a waste of time until the contractors have finished picking up the onions. The dust is just crazy.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Totally running late lol... I sit on MrPs bed to do our insulins and Missy usually comes in for a short smooch but she settled down between us and went to sleep, so we carried on talking then I relaised it was 9am oops lol. Just as well I dont have anything urgent to do lol.

I was going to do the wardrobe this morning, but I have dishes and then I need to go get MrPs pills and take back some disgusting fish and chips I got on sunday. The fish was edible just ,but the rest wasnt.. And I figure if theyre not told they wont know. And they dont open till 11-30.

Speaking of onions Kiwimade, there is one road here which by-passes town and most of the truckies use this road. An Onion truck dropped part of his load on the weekend, going too fast around the bend. Its a common occurance but he really did a good job of it... A school friend used to live right on the bend so they were always well stocked for onions lol

Right I better husstle me butt.. have a fab day everyone

Good afternoon all from sunny and warm napier.
Has been a crazy couple of weeks but this week onwards should settle, with school back properly, no public holidays etc.
I have completed Abby's my little pony diamond painting and am eagerly awaiting my 2 to start. I have ordered a funky looking ostrich and a tulip scene.
Blankets are going well, have sold 3 in the past week. Have just started another one last night as well as completing another 2 for the hospital.
Popeye, i cleaned out the linen cupboard but only have excess king duvet covers - unsure if they would be any use?
Kiwi, i must take pics of a few of the old contraptions we have in our garden - it sounds we may have similar taste lol - my otherhalf potters with wood also so have all sorts around the place lol like a pot belly split in half and made into coffee tables using big slabs of wood hahahaha
Planning on doing some pruning tomorrow to fill the wheelie bin for thursday, and then have a good weed up/tidy up over the weekend.
Oh ladies, i am not sure if i'm allowed to ask here, but does anyone want any curtain/upholstry fabric remnants. I was given a bin full and certainly dont need it all - i have made numerous cushion covers and table runners but am now at a loss.
enjoy your afternoon everyone

Time for me to move as I am off out this morning to a meeting and into town after the meeting. Have some bills to pay.

Afternoon ladies, well this dry weather continues, we are now on severe restrictions, no water use outside at all. They reckon Kaikohe will be completely out of water soon. I still don't understand why we can't have our own water tanks. I hear what you say about people filling them from town supply, but that would be crazy, the tanks cost heaps and then you would be paying for the water on top. The idea of having a tank is to have it fill with free rainwater and use it when the town supply runs low.

Took puss to the vet on Friday for her annual check up, 'flu jab, flea and worm treatment. Don't really like her having the flea treatment, and don't usually as I've never found a flea on her, but as she's off to Club Med for Cats tomorrow morning she had to have one - it's one of the conditions. Fair enough. I also got them to check her microchip and she was still registered to the lady I got her from, so I have now sorted that. I've only had her 5 or 6 years and said lady is now in Australia so if pips had gone missing they would have had trouble tracking her previous owner down.

Hoping that the road to Milford Sound is repaired before we get down that far. Sister phoned this morning from UK and said they have had nothing but rain and storms and another storm expected to hit any day. So pleased I live here!

Right, I need to sort out some knitting to take with me.

Hope everyone is well.
