morning ladies :) We've had a busy few days but all fun. Our grandy came and went, omg she has grown so tall! We'll see both of them again next month as their parents have a wedding to go to :)

We had a wedding to attend yesterday, a perfect day with no wind. Was a lovely garden wedding and the bride looked stunning. Just have a question though, why oh why do the young women today wear their clothes so damed tight they are always fiddling with either the bustline (it's slipping down) or the hemline (it's riding up). Oh crikey, now I am showing my age lol. I suppose it's looks over comfort :P

Today is a quiet(ish) day as MrK is a tad seedy from yesterday lol. His own fault though so no sympathy from me.

Right-o, am going to put the hose on the garden. Thank goodness for our bore.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Had a quiet sort of busy day yesterday, just gentle pottering around the kitchen mainly.
Went to a garage sale, first one in ages and I have to admit it was pitiful lol.. But Id aready asked for the tupperware container I saw in the ladies photographs on fb, so had to pick that up anyway.

Did alot on the teatowel now that Id undone it and doing in a single strand rather than two. I will probably edge it in a round of double crochet cos I did the chain a little too loose, unless I run a sewing cotton thread to tidy it up.

Have to agree Kiwimade I dont know how brides put up with strapless dresses.. I have known one to duct tape it to herself before leaving for the wedding lol.

Have to pop up the street this morning, and other than a littlw washing that is my plans.. still very sore so I might fall into an oxy just to get some releif.

Have a fab day everyone

Hope you are feeling better, popeye. It wasn't the bride, her gown fitted beautifully. Her friends though were having all sorts of issues with their dresses.

Hi, Everyone, Will got someone to have a look at the Silk Tree this coming week. In meantime I have sawed a few pieces off and cleaned up. Feeling sad.Have a bale full of leaves, flowersetc and will start on second later today. Did a couple of hours in the cool last night.
Heard on Friday there a sewing machine for me to have a look at this coming week.
Need to check my fabric, yarn, lace zips etc, yarn ,felting, silk, blankets etc so I know which bins are where. Hoping to renumber them and list whats in what. You may ask why the blankets. Have dyed some and maded knee rugs etc, scarves, hot water covers, bags, jackets, wallhangings, cushion covers. Just had some more given to me this week. I checked them and washed yesterday. These have been lovely looked after. You may ask why I I'm doing it . Over the last couple of years or so while Mr S was unwell I let it go and just dived bomb in to the bins and to get what I needed at the time.
Time to move now I have had my lunch
In joy the rest of the time everyone.

Afternoon everyone
Managed to get an appointment with the dr this morning.. Someone cancelled yay lol... We are running a page full of bloods to see if there are any inflamitery things going on. Cos theres not much left that isnt sore these days.

She said MrPs tests werent good but not too bad either, so we will keep a watch over him.

I finished my last painting yesterday so am waiting on the mail tomorrow.. with fingers crossed lol.
I finished my crochet tea towel yesterday so I just have the ends to sew in and then Ill use them, need to see how much they stretch etc to calculate sitches and rows etc for future ones.

I learnt to drive in a Manual Kiwimade, the best way I reckon, especially since your son like classics. I loved my little Ford Anglia...

Good afternoon everyone, well it was back to work for me today - have loved being back.
Have made another blanket and a few more dishcloths so very pleased with that. My daughter has 2 more weeks then back to the doctor for a check up and hopefully no more cast, she has done really well so far but think its becoming a real pain for her now. Only 3 more weeks and its back to school. We have just been down to Nelson/Blenheim for a week and went for a look at kaiteretere beach - absolutely beautiful until the sky opened and we were caught quite a way from the car.Popeye, my apologies, i haven't made it into the linen cupboard yet - have kept the linen in my mind tho.
Kiwimade, cant wait to see updated corner photos lol - i bet you still walk past and smile. Sunflower, how creative making all those things from blankets - love the idea of the hot water bottle cover :)
Well off to do dishes before i head off home - first work day of the year over and done with nearly

morning ladies :D It's raining *does the happy dance* The garden is loving this gentle rain we're having and saves me moving the hose around. MrK built me a stand for the sprinkler so it is raised well above the ground. This way the water can reach further into the garden.

Mary-poppins, yesssss, I still smile when I see 'my' corner. I still have a lot of planting to do but there are plants I want to move but have to wait until autumn. We spent a Christmas prezzie card on plants and I almost have the edging finished. We also have this very old wagon wheel and have tied it using copper wire between the old stump we kept and the climbing rose I had planted there. My concern is when we add the water feature it will look too busy but we'll see how that goes.

Yesterday was a fun day changing the oil in son's car. MrK adjusted the idle and clutch too for him. Son is lucky MrK is a mechanic lol. I got to drive and omgggg lol, the steering is heavy. And here's son saying, don't crash the car mum, cheeky buggar lol. MrK took him for another driving lesson and he is slowly improving. It just takes practice as we all know.

Today my plan was to weed but with this rain, who knows. I have a pile of things to go to the op-shop and the Furry One needs another flea treatment. He flatly refused to eat the one we bought and after days of trying it disintegrated. He's suspicious of any medication now as he takes epilepsy meds twice a day. Think we'll have to go to the stuff you put on the skin.

Crafting later today, I have a new embroidery book MrK bought me for Christmas and ommggg it's amazing.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Another lovely day here, there was some grey cloud yesterday but no rain. I noticed the ground is cracking out the back.
I took an Oxy yesterday, I had a Nana nap and I said to MrP last night after tea I felt than I had in a very long time. I woke at 6 this morning and took codiene, but I certainly feel better. less pain yay.
No rush Mary-poppins, life gets busy.

Kiwimade I miss my escort , just about as much as my Angliar... My fave cars and I couldnt drive if we didnt have power steering now thats for sure lol.

I crochet a round of double crochet on my tea towel andit really finishes it nicely. Started a matching dishcloth.

Huntlyirl what a buzz it would be having "resident" Kiwi's.. Enjoy.. The people "Up the Heads" from Waiuku are buying water already.. Up the heads is Awhitu, the top of the heads is oposite the Auckland Airport.

MrP and I are going into the garage this morning..God help me lol... hes bound to have a hissy, from frustration. But I know where the toolbox is so it shouldnt be too bad.. Will throw Missy into a cage and take her down there with us.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. I get out of watering the gardens today as we have rain. Everything is looking great at present. Just had a quote come in to have a cleanup of the silk tree. Just needs a tidyup and It should be ok. So it may get to live another few years. Need think about it first.
Still cleaning out the plastic bins and making lists of what in them. Knitting a scarf for a present. Have been using the old Singer Sewing Machine at present. It's hard going.....
Time to move and go to a couple of appointments.
Kiwimade, I started out on learning on a Holden Station. Boy, was that hard going...Good to hear your new garden is coming along. Just think this time next year you be sitting out having a drink or two.

Sorry to hear you are not well. Take it easy in the heat we been having.Popeye.
Time to move,
Happy crafting everyone.

Best laid plans and all that... twisted my ankle in the garden this morning so have had it up and iced. But on the plus side, I've been able to do some more to the cat I'm embroidering. Not 100% happy with it but it will be OK.

Huntlygirl, I am so envious of your kiwi!

Morning everyone

Ouch Kiwimade, thats gotta hurt.. Glad you are doing what is needed not toughing it out.

We got half the garage re-sorted yesterday, finished just before lunch. But I think I should have done it ages ago. MrP seems alot happier now he has seen everything is there.
The other half will happen on the weekend hopefully, Will make it look better for our inspection next week too.

Thankfully a couple of my diamond paintings arrived yesterday, so I have started on MrPs Yorkie baby.. Its only a 20 by 20 cms so it wont take too long. Square diamonds tho which are slower but they do look better.
The other is my Orang Mum and baby, I love Orangs as much as Sloths.. but much bigger at 30 by 40.

Have just put some corned beef in the crockpot, I got a piece when I did the christmas club shop and have been hanging out for it, or the roast of beef I got.. couldnt Hang on any longer lol... Bring on tea time lol

Finished a dishcloth last night. Will make it a few chain bigger next time.. I need to get my crate of cotton down out of the stack, cos Im really enjoying working with it.. Im tempted to make a blanket lol... but that will require alot more than I have lol.

Morning everyone

Kiwimade I hope your foot is feeling better, if not Id consider a drs check on it.

Sunflowers Im pleased your Cherry tree will be able to stay , they are such pretty trees.

I went out to weed the garden that the kids were going to do, but MrP started moaning about cos they hadnt been yet. I did 3/4rs and my hammies are Blardy sore now. Im waiting for him to complain about my groaning and he will hear all about it. Ill finish it either tonight or tomorrow. Most likely tomorrow night.
I did some cobwebs too, Ive never been in a house that gets sooo many cobwebs on the outside.. The good thing is the spiders dont seem to venture inside cos theres no cobwebs inside lol.

Shopping today so I better rattle me daggs.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) My ankle is still sore but strapped up well, am over putting it up so this morning went out and weeded for a bit. Was nice to be outside and doing something constructive. I can sit and weed and do the old bum shuffle when I need to move lol. Not a pretty sight, but hey, it works. The doc will just tell me what I already know, RICE, rest, ice, compression and elevation. Oh and loose weight lol. It's his mantra.

MrK has discovered Amazon. Spare me days... he has a list of stuff he wants. To be fair though, some of it he has been looking for here in NZ for a long time and can't buy it. So he was over the moon when he found what he wanted and at a good price too.

Rested enough, breakfast dishes need doing. I never leave them this late in the day but it is what it is.

Crafting later.

Happy crafting :)

Your doing the right thing Kiwimade.... I took a mat out with me last night to do a bum shuffle but it was too far in to reach sitting.
Have done the shopping, I am soo sore, but of course we forgot to pick up Mrp's pills,, dammit, so Ive taken codiene and Ill sit and realx till it works then go back up the street. I might treat myself to an oppy visit, but that will depend on pain lol.

I have a friend who is a typist in a hospital and I know she does blood test results etc so I asked her about the tests Im doing tomorrow, nothing scary slipped in, its all to do with inflamation and pain lol.

Ohh Dear re Amazon... might end up like deramores or Lyncraft lol

Got home just in time for the home help to arrive, and I started to sort things out to do the blanching etc. But Ive left it till later now. Cos I have a pile of dishes I want out of the way first and I had to clean the dishwasher first. So it can all wait now.
Ill have lunch and a play on here then do it.

Izzys Mum gave me a bag of beans... Multiracial I call them cos there are green yellow and almost black ones lol.. So Im freezing those and will finish the brought ones first lol.

Hope your appointment goes well Sunflowers and Kiwimade I hope your on the mend... Kuaka I also hope the markets are god at the mo.

morning ladies :) Still hobbling around but not as badly as yesterday. Lawns need mowing so this should be a challenge. Will take some Panadol and do it in bits. I trimmed the edges while weeding so that's done.

I'm going to have a go at embroidering the Furry One. I took a profile pic of him and that was harder than it sounds lol as he kept wanting to get in close to the camera. So now to have a tutu and take my design from the photo. Am looking forward to the challenge although in a few months time I might be saying buggar it lol. But first I'll finish the cat I'm working on, I only have down it's back, the tail and the bird to do.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer days.

Time to move before it's too hot to mow and today it's going to take me longer.

morning ladies :) I'm walking somewhat normally this morning so am on the mend. The swelling has gone down and the bruising is out so all in all a good sign.

Today I do the housework. They have finished, for now, harvesting the onions so no more huge dust clouds blown our way. The kitchen floor and windowsills feels gritty from the dust so needs a good going over. And it's going to be a scorcher today, 30 degrees plus.

Crafting later. Happy knitting :)

Good Morning Ladies, It's overcast down here at present. Had rain for about an hour or so yesterday. Sun came out again and in 30 mins could not tell it had rained.I worked outside yesterday. An hour outside and hour inside. Fingers crossed now that friends come across with the chainsaw this afternoon. The son off on a sports trip to OZ this coming week and needs some spending money.

Spend some time looking for a knitting pattern last night and gave it away after 30 mins. Did some knitting on a shawl for a Birthday Gift at the end of the month.

Kiwimade good to hear you on the mend. Just take it easy for week or so.
Hope everyone else is ok and enjoying some time out to do some knitting or other craft.

I'm off out for Breakfast this morning so it's time for me to made a move.
Cheers everyone

Morning everyone
Funny you should mention the Onions Kiwimade.. There are fields and fields of them drying on the trip between Waiuku and Pukekohe. I was going to take some photos on our way home on Thursday but the roads were too busy.

Glad the Ankle is feeling good. Sunflowers enjoy your breakie out. Sometimes I wish we could eat out, but Im actually the tight one and think I could make things alot cheaper at home lol.

Well the gardens are done. I even pulled the kaikuyu out from the yukkas on the boundary too. Came inside and MrP said What happened your Bleeding... I said the Yukkas /Yakkas never sure which way it is spelt, Attacked me. I looked in the mirror and it started just on my forhead hairline and was into my eyebrow but still running lol... Gave him a fright lol..oops

Im pleased I didnt get the kids to do it now cos they are vicious buggers. But its done and Im happy enough with it. I want to prune a branch off a tree out the back of my bedroom cos it bangs on the guttering when its windy. but Ill wait till the owners are at work tomorrow lol.

I started another tea towel last night.. Doing an Aussie one lol.. well not quite its green and yellow rather than gold. But Im trying to use up the left overs as I go. So there could be some very bright towels.. They work really well and dry fast too.
Ones me pills have kicked in Ill do the bathrooms , and hang washing out. Then I will work on MrPs dog. Im over half way now.. And the good thing is I have a frame to fit already.

Have a fab day everyone, its going to be a scorcher

Not alot on my list for the day, Ill vacc the bedrooms and hall ways tho and leave the lounge etc till Thursday morning.

Im getting a good amount of work done on the tea towel.. Im not sure if Ill have enough of the green and yellow, but they dont have to look glamorous just to dry dishes.. Mind you its hard to tell when one is on a cardboard tube roll.

Afternoon ladies :) I've been into town this morning, trying to beat the heat. Was very quiet so managed to blat around and get done what I needed too. Watered all the outdoor pots plants first, it seems to be a daily thing now.

MrK has picked enough beans for the freezer this morning and a heap of tomatoes, carrots, leaks and radishes. And it looks like we're going to have a bumper crop of grapes too. Love having fresh vegies.

Might just sit and sew for a bit this afternoon as I'm almost finished the cat. I've been planning the embroidery of The Furry One and have all the colours I need and the fabric too.

Happy crafting :)

I will finish MrPs dog hopefully before lunch today. and can frame it straight away so he will be happy.
Ive run out of green and yellow cotton for the teatowel, Im not one who likes not matching things but Ill throw the left over crimson on it so I dont waste anything. It will probably do my head in lol but it will still work.

morning ladies :) We were at the beach yesterday and boy those waves were huge from the Fijian/Tongan cyclone. Didn't stop the surfers though, they were having a ball.

I planted a few more plants in the new garden last evening when we got home, it's slowly filling up. I have a few to move later in autum and in June the climbing rose should arrive. I must take some more photos to record our progress. I have photos from years ago and I love being able to compare where we are at now. Sometimes you feel like you're getting nowhere until you see what you started with. I sprayed the weeds growing where we plan to sow grass seed, the sparrows have certainly been busy making their dust bowls, there's loads of them. No wonder I sprained my ankle last week.

Almost finished my embroidery, just the tip of the tail and the bird to do.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning everyone

Another warmer day but not as bad as yesterday thats for sure. I wish it would rain, good heavy rain for a couple of hours each day to revive all the plants etc. We have huge cracks in the ground.

I finished the dog yesterday, might frame it later. I didnt get aroound to doing it yesterday. it took me almost 2 hours to bag up the unused diamonds and put the next ones in the containers.

I faffed about in the kitchen last night, went to do one thing and ended up starting a couple of areas so I gave it all a good clean, rather than the move it a little clean lol.
So I only need to wash the floors tonight and a quick vacc tomorrow.. Ive come to the realisation that its good having an inspection cos the house gets a better clean more often lol. And its becoming easier and easier lol

Have a wonderful day everyone

Good Morning Ladies,Yesterday was not a great day for me. Ended up doing very little. This morning is a slow start, I turned down a lunch today which is not like me.
Looking at what wool I can use for a winter tunic top for a 2 year old going on 5 if you heard her talking. Youngest of 6. I was asked not to use is red. I think red would be a lovely colour with her lovely dark colouring.
My lawnmover guy came in yesterday and I came home to a very tidy back lawn. Cleaned up around the Silk Tree,so now got my yard back and lawns cut.
I ended up down at the beach and was good to have time out which was much needed.
Our beach was also sending very high waves up also Kiwimade.Glad you enjoyed your day out.
Sounds like you are keeping yourself busy as well Popeye.
Time for me to make a move as I will walk over to the wool shop and have a look and do a topup at the s/market.

Ended up with having a meal with some friends around the other end of our street last night. They have a very busy Coffee Bar . I try to have a lunch there a couple times a month or so. When I was nursing Mr S. Mark would drop me a roast dinner (s) off. They stay open 3 nights a week and do roast dinners.

Sorted out some wool to make a tunic for a 2 year going on 5.She lovely little one. Have a shawl to do first for her mother's birthday. She youngest of six. Has four brothers and a sister. Her brother and her picked out the wool for the shawl . They did a good job picking the wool and colour.

As for the problems with the Mob and Black Power its just been boiling for sometime now.The bigest problem is teenagers and young ones who want to be is bigest problem.
Time to move as I need to catchup with my surport person later this morning for a walk.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning ladies, been a while since I posted - I have no idea where this month has gone, seems it's just flown by and will soon be February. There have been a lot of markets, some of which have been good, others not so.

My son came up last week and fixed my water problem so I now have normal water pressure and can have a proper shower, rather than little dribbles of alternating hot and then cold water. The cost for the fitting was $10.40 and he couldn't believe how easy it was to fit and only took him 10 minutes, and that included him going up into the next street to turn the water off. I might add that he isn't a plumber - my dad was and my brother-in-law was so it bugs me having to pay $80 plus gst an hour to get a plumber to do anything. Puss was pleased to see my son depart as he brought his dog with him - he's a lovely dog but he is used to a cat but my cat isn't used to a dog. One morning around 3am when the cat was curled up on my bed, the dog wandered in, the cat hissed and the dog yowled, and they both took off like rockets with puss going through the cat door at break-neck speed.

Aside from fixing my water, my son did a few other little jobs for me, things that I could have done but would have struggled with and taken me much longer than it took him. I always enjoy his company and it would be nice if we saw each other more often.

I had a funeral to go to earlier in the month, very sad to lose a very dear old friend who was so much fun. He went sky-diving to celebrate his 90th birthday - gives you an idea of the sort of person he was. He was still riding around on his bike right up till the end.

I am on a mission today to tidy the house up and do some cleaning, which has been neglected over the last few weeks. Course I know that once it's clean and tidy I won't get any visitors until it's messy again, but never mind.

Gardens could desperately do with some rain - fingers crossed. I feel sorry for everyone who is on water tank. I know what it's like but I'm on town supply here, I suspect there is a hose and sprinkler ban in force but I don't know for certain.

Right, I had better get cracking and carry on with my chores.

Have an awesome day everyone.

afternoon ladies :) It's been a mucky kind of morning this morning but I did manage to do the grocery shopping.

We could use rain too, our nieghbour told us it was Christmas Day when we had rain last. Luckily we're on bore water so no restrictions as such. The irrigation is going on the commercial crops though and I have had the hose on the garden for a bit for the new plants.

I just have the bird to do and my embroidery is finished, just hope the pencil lines come out as I mucked up a bit of the transfer.

Better bring the washing in, the towels will be overdry and stiff as a board.

Happy crafting :)

morning ladies. It's foggy this morning but that's what happens when we have hot days and cold nights. I'm going to make the most of it and mow the lawn before the temps hit the predicted 30. I've strapped my ankle and am good to go lol.

I still have the bird to embroider, I did a bit of it yesterday but aren't happy with it so put it down to do when I was in a better mind space. I've learned from experience not to craft when peeved off lol.

I ordered a light box thingy online as I think part of my problem is not being able to get my patterns/designs onto the fabric accurately. Taping paper to the window and tracing just doesn't do it for me. MrK can use it too for his carving designs so a win-win. He is almost finished the jewellery box for our daughter, we're just waiting for the clasp to arrive (ordered online too). It looks stunning and hopefully he has enough of the same timber to make me a box too.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Its a little cooler here this morning.. but man yesterday was a stinker.

One thing I dont liike about our car is, obviously japanese are sissys when it comes to cooling. The fan is very low compared to other cars and it wont go below 18 degrees unless you use the Air con.
I like the car to be cool but not having to use the air con all the time to do it.

I agree totally Kiwimade if something isnt right I dont even attempt to try and fix it until Im in the right headspace, which is why the overlocker is still unthreaded and the curtains for the ranch slider are still not sewn.

Some of my cookie cutters arrived the other day, my fave so far is the Jigsaw shaped ones, they are soo cute.. I still have several different shaped snow flake ones to turn up. Im going to have fun at christmas time making biscuits for the kids.

My plans today amount to possibly picking up MrPs script and getting a packet of puree kisses for Missy. Framing MrPs dog pic and painting. Everything else can wait.
MrPs tea will be left over sweet and sour pork I made on Thursday and Ill have a bacon butty..

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I finished the cat and bird yesterday but not 100% happy with it. Will wash and iron it and see what I think after that but suspect this one won't be framed. I could always do it again as I have plenty of fabric. Just didn't quite have my heart in it.

It's going to be another hot day, 31 for us, so will get what needs to be done outside done now.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Ima bit the same with my teatowel Kiwimade. The pink cotton is too thin so Im going to undo it and see if I can find some closer to the same thickness.

I didnt do much at all yesterday but did get slot of painting done, which Im pleased of.
Im going to do the veges or the salad as far as I can for tea tonight, to avoid the heat.
MrP slept most of the afternoon away yesterday, I painted cos Im not fond of sleeping through the daytime..

This morning I will also search through my tupperware and find how many pearl white seals Im after. I have some odd colour ones, and I hope to stick with the white.

Have a fab day everyone.. Keep cool and Hydrated.. and dont forget a dish for the birds

morning ladies :) My embroidery pic of the Furry One has been planned and now I am waiting for my new light box to arrive so I can trace the outline onto either the fabric or tracing paper (which ever is easier). The photo I'm using is dark(ish) and too hard to trace. I did try toning it down on the computer but that seemed more fuss than what it was worth. So I have a week of tutu-ing about. I might use that time to practice some stitches.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone,
Another hot day on the way. Im getting a little over them at the mo.

Had another quiet day yesterday. But it did make a difference getting the veges done in the morning..
It was so hot that I cooked around a shower, so I wasnt in the heat so much lol
The house over the back painted or stained their deck,, Ohh man what a stink blowing straight through our ranch slider,, gave me a stinker of a headache.. It does look nice tho.

One more sleep and Izzy goes to school.. She had a bit of a wobble the other day and decided she wanted to go back to Kindy, but we told her she was too big for Kindy now, and that she will have heaps of fun. So she was ok yesterday.

Was givena big bag of butter beans yesterday so that is on the agenda at some stage too.

Have a fab day everyon
