morning ladies :) Gorgeous blankies, flick. They look so cosy and snuggly.

MrK is mowing the lawn for me!!! Couldn't believe it lol. But I won't look a gift horse in the mouth and all that.

I have almost finished the Christmas shopping. Just one wee pressie for my great niece to go. I think lol. In my head this is all I need to do but once I start sorting gifts I'll probably find I missed someone.

The Furry One is still looking for that possum but it hasn't been back. Nothing wanders onto our property and gets by him. Last night around midnight we had a guy pull up in his ute and try to get through the gate. MrK got up but he had left by the time MrK was outside. The Furry One told us this guy was there. I don't think I could ever live here without a dog.

Better get moving, the washing is well and truly dry and I have the last of the pressies to wrap (well almost last :P)

happy crafting :)

Our Darling grandie stayed in her uniform to come visit us this afternoon... She looked soo grown up and for the first time she piced up one of the books Ive had here for her. She loves doing puzzles , but obviously she read something at school. She was soo pleased with herself..
Its her Mums birthday today so she liked the snow tiger painting I did.

I wrapped that and her christmas present And the big one for another person. And I bagged up the lollies last night.

Have to run up a book bag before Sunday for grandies birthday.. well we cant decide which presnt to give to her for her Birthday and Christmas cos theres only 8 days between. We will have the book bag, hair scrunchie and a silver expanding bracelet.. Thinking now I should have got a blue scrunchie to match her uniform.

Love the blankets Marrypoppins.

Ill dig up the photo tomorrow of the snow tiger,, cos I can show that one now lol

morning ladies :) I did forget someone's Christmas pressie lmao... mine! I have to go to Hamilton on Friday so will buy the rotary blade cutter then. A quick visit to Postie Plus for some t shirts and that's my great niece done too.

Kids grow so quick, don't they and are so proud of themselves when they start school. Our daughter has her birthday just after Christmas so had to wait until February to start school when she was small. She was not impressed lol.

I've finished the embroidery for the top of the cushion but no sewing now until after Christmas. I have too much to do and it can wait now until things quieten down. I'll take a pic and post it as I'm really happy with the results. It's a small pic I found online, I traced the outline and then enlarged it.

Happy crafting. :)

Yeah Izzy has to wait too. She went for 4 hours yesterday and is going for the same oneday next wee.. Then she gets the long holiday before she starts.
I was thinking this morning, shes doing well, She goes to "work: with her Mum at the oppy a couple of days a week and hasnt even fully started school yet lol. Shes the youngest of 7 but very mature and a very quick learner.
Kiwimade what a Beautiful Rose... its lovely.. And it wont give you hay fever lol.
Izzys mum moved the tv yesterday, blardy heavy thing it is.. So today I can put the tree up and then Ill vaccuum. The floor is disgusting but even tho I will put a sheet down to save some mess, I couldnt see any sence in doing the floor first lol..
I hung the wreath yesterday. I got a bunch of curling ribbon an bit of tinsel and some balls to hang in the middle. It will do for now.

Clear as a bell out there so Ill get some more wahsing done.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning from Sunny Napier. Thanks Kiwimade for showing the cushion cover. Great colours and stitching. Look forward to seeing it in the New Year.Gardens are looking great. Your dog not making too many holes I hope.
I like the way you have everything planned and have everything just about finished for Christmas Popeye. Have you got your facebook pages back?
Mary-Poppins would have like to given you some fruit but they just about over. I'll be lucky if I have fresh ones now for Christmas Day. We have a good crop every other year.

Been busy helping a young person get their NZCC Level Two papers finished before Polytec closes next Friday, so they can attend Polytec next year.
It's sad about White Island and lost of people. Have friends who have a great view from their house,we have watched it many times as it lights up the sky at night. We could of gone out a number of times ,but never went too..
Finsihed a couple of things that will be wraped up at the weekend.
Let you know Kiwimade if I get up your way in the New Year.
Time to move, coffee break over.
Have a great day everyone.

I didnt know until yesterday that White island was privatley owned... Im hoping that they and Doc etc decide that its not safe enough to have people visiting it.. Its certainly not something I would want to do.. In like to keep myself safe.

I have done the tree and some other decorations, but theres a few more things that Ill put out after tomorrow when I go to pick up our coffee table. Then Ill be happy.

Break time now tho

morning ladies :) Up at sparrow's fart this morning again as the Fluffy One is staying with us until tomorrow and she likes to sleep above my pillow so I'm all cramped in with the Furry One on my feet. My back can only take so much!

I hope your son is happy at school now, flick, and you have the help he needs.

I am hoping I can buy the t shirt for my great niece today and then tomorrow before picking my sister up from hospital, I will buy my rotary cutter. Then that's it, no more gifts.

I have enough fabric to stitch the companion piece to the cat I finished a few weeks ago so will overlock the edges and prepare everything today sometime. I will need more thread so will work out what I need and maybe buy it tomorrow as well. I'm glad I'm doing this one second as it's a bit trickier than the first one with smaller spaces for stitches.

Happy crafting :)

Morning ladies, I have had a few more busy days with the last of the mah jong for the year - we had a shared lunch and a secret santa - and played mah jong "with a twist". Normally we draw table numbers to see who sits where, I said "just sit where you like"! I also took along a kitchen timer, which I set at about 30 minutes, and when it rang one person from each table moved to another table, and repeated throughout the afternoon. It was quite funny seeing people move and have to finish playing someone else's hand. Everyone enjoyed it and we may do it again occasionally through the year, just to liven it up a bit.

Plan to do some weeding now and then this afternoon I've got a brief meeting with the chairman of the hall committee and our accountant. Market on Saturday but we are starting at midday and going through till 7.30, Market on Monday and then straight afterwards a hall committee meeting.

Might go away for a few days next week as there isn't another market then until the 23rd.

Meantime, I'm plodding away on the garden and making things for the market.

Hope everyone is finding time to some craftwork and not finding it too hot. Wish it would rain so I don't have to water the garden!

Have a super day everyone.

Good morning all. Glad the school visit went well popeye. Haha with the head and feet togs kiwi, sunshine, isnt it nice it being a bit cooler. Kuka, the mah jong sounds fun.

Im at work today, just having a late coffee. Getting organised and doing all the tidy up bits for the end of the year.

I finished another dishcloth last night in the purples, and bought another type of white cotton yesterday so will try with that tonight. Finished the santa stocking bits yesterday so just 1 voucher to buy and im sorted.

Happy days everyone :)

Ohh I love the coffee table, warts and all lol... it could do with either a light sand and varnish or perhaps a simple oiling would help... MrP helped me put it in the car cos its a heavy sucker lol... Ill send out an SOS and get Izzys parents to come and help, cos we got home to find a neat 3 draw Divan bed round by the front door... Complete with an innersprung Mattress.. And we have been offered another bed too. And theres no way I can move the divan, well I dont think I can, it might be ok if I take the drawers out.
It brought back memories cos I used to have a divan when I was young and the drawerts were my Glory Box..

Bit of a rest now and then I might just give it a go lol...

I doubt we will be going to Pukekohe next week, we wont need much, fruit I will get at one of our fruit shops locally.

morning ladies, up with the sparrows again this morning. The Fluffy One goes home today, I pick my sister up from hospital this morning. Mary-poppins, the dogs are best mates until it comes time to share me at night time. Our boy usually sleeps between MrK and I but my sister's dog also sleeps cuddled up to her. We now have an 'arrangement' with one at each end of the bed (Mum has spoken lol) and when our boy gets cold, will slip under the blankets. As long as they don't see each other, they are fine. Until the Fluffy One forgets the Furry One is under the blankets and steps on him. Such fun! Not!

Got a phone call yesterday saying come and pick up the top soil so we are doing that tomorrow. Would be today but oh well, such is life. So tomorrow will be full on. I'm guessing I will be shoveling at least four trailer loads of soil. I don't mind the work and MrK will help where he can. He built the seat yesterday so things are starting to come together. This morning I will give the garden and the area for the new lawn another once over as the soil has settled and a few tree roots are sticking out and there are a few weeds now too.

Didn't get to work on my new embroidery piece, the day just got away on me. But I did finish the lawn and de-headed the last of the roses. The sheep pellets I fed them the other day are kicking in and there's lots of new growth. Am hoping there will be another flush of roses for Christmas.

Better move before the day becomes too hot and/or my sister text's me to come and pick her up.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Well Im stronger, or just more determined than I thought.. I got the coffee table or Missys table out of the car myself.. And I moved the bed myself too.. I forgot to put the drawers back in but Ill do that this morning. Very pleased with myself and I dont have any added pain..
Usually after a normal shopping day Im sore but Im good.. Yay

I cut out Izzys book bag last night. So after Ive done the floors I will sew that together.. Then Ill sort some of the junk in the spare room so I can get the other bed in. Thats going to be my mission lol

The house where we picked up the coffee table from was down a private road, but was set on a gentle rise, a duck pond down the hill a little, huge Orchar and heaps of trees etc around. Very Private and away from the world. But the people have just sold it, Im guessing to Downsize cos it would be a full time job keeping the lawns down.

Right Ill get a few things done on here, I might also nip up the road and get the medical tape I forgot yesterday, coss the road will be closed for the christmas parade tomorrow.

Have a lovely day everyone

morning ladies :) Amazing what we can do eh popeye. Especially if we want the job done lol.

Today's the day we shovel topsoil. Our friend is dropping his trailer off on his way to work this morning (he drives right by our home so not out of the way for him) and we make our first pick up at 8.30am. Am so excited lol, feel a bit silly being this excited over tons of work but I have waited so long for this. I estimate around four good trailer loads should work for the garden and another for the lawn. So a very full on day today. And the best thing is the weather is overcast so hopefully it won't be too hot.

Crafting will have to wait today, I know how tired I will be later today and that's when I make mistakes.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

Yayay we have had a little rain overnight... Was a hot night tho.. Not so bad now..
Its the christmas parade and this is standard fare for the day. Like the school gala day they both start off wet but fine up for the events.

Have fun doing the dirt work Kiwimade. and your right when we accomplish something we have wanted for a long time it doesnt feel like work.

I stupidly thought Ill just lay on my left side for a few minutes early this morning, BIG mistake, woke up an hour later and I was so sore I couldnt turn over, I had to stand and turn around lol... Pain meds and nearly two more hours sleep has improved things, but There are things I want to do today, so I will work through it... Ill admit tho I was thinking Ohh Im going to have to take a Big pain med to get out of this one lol... but theres no need..

I made Izzys book bag yesterday, and Im pleased with it. Although I do wish id gone for corners not the rounded corners.. So I will sew some matching buttons on the pleats.. her Mum has seen it and said she will love it, so thats all that matters.

I had better get things done on here, cos if I sit to long that might be as far as I get lol..

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Am going to make the most of a cool morning and weed. Blimmen convolvulus has gone rampart and I only weeded a week ago. Might have to resort to spraying it.

We were so lucky weatherwise yesterday with moving the topsoil. It stayed overcast and cool for the whole morning so we were able to shovel three cubic meters. Thank goodness that was all we needed lol as I did the third load by myself and was knackered. About ten minutes after I finished, the sun came out. It took roughly an hour per load (bit longer for the last one lol) by the time we went into town to pick the soil up (thank goodness for diggers lol), come home and shovel it off. We had to go like crazy as our friend wanted to finish up around lunchtime. Monday morning we will buy a cubic meter of garden mix to put on top and then I can start planting. What a mission but am so glad it's almost done.

Needless to say there was no crafting yesterday, but am hoping to do some today. I have a bit of mending to do on my sister's top but that won't take long. And some buttons to cut off old shirts MrK can use as rags.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Wow Kiwimade you did do well.. a well earnt rest for you now..

I had a busy morning, I moved all the stuff out of the spare room and put it in Izzys room. Then moved the divan. made that up, then decided I should freshen the bedspread so thats done..
Its Izzys party today, I sewed the buttons on the book bag, wrapped her bangle and out that in the bag, then wrapped it up. Will get a card on our way, the one I got I realised has 7 candles on the cake picture, so Ill put that away even tho it doesnt say 7th birthday.

This week I hope to sort the garage out, MrP wants to be able to see his stuff, not likely he will ever use any of it again, but if it cheers him up Ill do it.. and I hope to get mt stand of shelves more organaised and hopefully get a little more down there.

Its overcast here so looks like it might be a housefull of kids at the party lol...

Have fun crafting today ladies a perfect day for it

morning ladies :) Another early start for us as we are going to buy a trailer load of garden mix for the new garden and unload it before our friend takes his trailer home. It will make the top layer of soil look pretty and has fertiliser and other goodies in it. And of course, it's raining lol. Oh well, you don't melt in the rain and it will be cooler. I am so thrilled with the results of this corner and was not expecting to have all this done before Christmas. I have a couple of plants that need moving so might even be able to get them moved this week too.

Still no crafting for me, yesterday I gave the garden a quick weed (damed convolvulus) and that was pretty much it for me. I finally put the Christmas tree up though lol.

Will try again to do some embroidery this afternoon, will depend how things pan out with this last load of soil.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone

We have finally had a little rain

We had fun at the party. Izzy loved all her presents, I slipped $5 into her cards and when she saw it she jumped up and said DOLLARS lol... And I know her, she will go to the oppy cos she knows you get more for your money there lol.. There were quite a few kids there and not one squable or tears. I said to her Mum tonight tho that if she has just put a bucket of coloured popcorn on the table they would have all been happy lol.

Back to reality today.. Ive decided to change some drawers around and hopefully be able to put enough stuff into them that I can reuse a couple of containers for my fabric, which is currently in drawers.
I was hoping to start on the garage today, but I wanted to be able to take everything off the shelves, spread it around on the driveway and then put it back in an orderly fashion, but thats no good in the rain.

Its funny Sunflowerts we do the same in the week before christmas, basic food nothing flash or rich lol... even tho we are only having fish and chips we seldom have schnapper so we will enjoy it...

Have a fab day everyone

woop! woop! woop! * does the happy dance* I am so over moving soil lol and have finally finished. This morning we went out to Daltons and bought a cubic meter of their garden mix. MrK is busy finishing a wedding present so I shoveled it all off and cleaned down the trailer. Omg I am soooo happy lol. I have to wait a few days before I can plant as the garden mix is very hot from stewing away and I need to buy a new garden hose as the one we have won't reach that far. We will sow the lawn in autum. It has been back breakingly hard slog but so worth the effort.

Here's the pic again of when we first moved in. Over t he years though I 'disposed' of quite a bit of the concrete but there was still tons there.

OMG kiwimade what a transformation. It looks so bloody great already - cant wait to see it planted lol. I would be sitting on that seat having a wine or gin by now (never mind the time) and toasting the dirt!!!
I'm at work today - only today tomorrow and Thursday then that's me until jan 13th - yipee
We had a busy weekend with Christmas things and also Christmas in the park. We didn't make it till the fireworks, so stood out the front and watched from our front yard, we are only a 5 minute walk from anderson park.
We have school final assembly/prizegiving tonight, a school trip on wednesday and then my girl finishes at lunchtime Friday. I have my work lunch 1pm friday, heading to east pier which should be lovely.
Have finished my grocery list - will shop Friday morning (as its my normal shopping day) and should only have to pop into the supermarket on Christmas eve for fresh buns/bread and fresh fruit.
Not too much crafting over the weekend, just a couple of dishcloths made, did get lawns mowed, edges weedeated and garden watered tho. Lots of de heading and weeding to keep me occupied. Hope everyone is happily crafting or happily doing whatever they need to be.

Ohh Kiwimade it loos bloody Marvelous... Theres something serene about a blank canvas .. Im sure you will have it planted and blooming soon enough. You have earnt a break now.

I have put away some of the stuff that is currently filling Izzys bedroom and I have 3 crates to empty my material into. I will tackle that either later today or tomorrow after MrPs dementia quizzes..
I feel a bit sad for him, he tells me he feels guilty not being able to help me do things, and he gets angry when I dont stop. And sometimes I just want to say If I dont do it, how is anything going to get done. Ive been biting my tongue for a long while now..
So I have to pace myself , in hope that he doesnt start to get angry about it .

Time for a play now tho , so he is happy about that.

lol mary-poppins, bourbon and soda is my tipple and omg I was tempted to do just what you suggested. I can't help but stop and look at it every now and then :D. I have a climbing rose ordered for the west wall and that will arrive next season. Usually I would plant from the back to the front but this time I'll plant the edging first to hide the concrete.

Popeye, MrK tells me to slow down too and I know he feels guilty when I do the heavy stuff. He helps where he can though.

Bins are out for the bin man tomorrow, ironing board all set for the ironing to be done later and lunch dishes stacked to be washed. So that's pretty much this afternoon sorted.

Good evening ladies, I had an early start today for the market as there was a cruise ship in, but I had an awesome day yesterday. I took some people out to look at the boat and they put an offer in (very much lower than I was hoping for - but I accepted it anyway just to be rid of it) and they bought the mooring too. Strangely enough - and I don't know how many of you believe in this sort of thing - but a few weeks ago I went to a clairvoyant and she told me all sorts of things and then asked if I had any questions. I said "will I ever sell the boat?" She looked into space and then said Mr K wasn't ready to let the boat go - she said she could see him firmly holding onto a rope, but he's now going to cast it adrift and he will find a buyer for it by Christmas! So I couldn't believe it when the offer came in yesterday afternoon. I debated whether to try to get the offer up a bit but decided I was best rid of it, rather than maybe chasing the buyer away. I asked for a 10% deposit into my account this week and the balance when they get the keys next week, and they said they would pay the whole lot today, which they have done. I am just so relieved. I said to my friend today, now when the sea conditions are perfect I won't feel guilty that I'm not rowing out to the boat and working on her. I was quite shocked yesterday when I saw the state she was in, far worse than my last trip out there. Just too much work for me, so I am very happy (although a bit disappointed with the price - relieved that I don't have to worry about it any more)

Hoping for some rain so I don't have to keep watering my garden, but for now I can concentrate on handcrafts, the garden and the house and not have to even think about the boat.

Have a super evening everyone.

Good morning everyone

Ohh Kuaka Im soo pleased for you.. Ive had to drop the price on things over the years, but it saved alot more heartache in the future. So Im sure you have done the right thing. And yes I beleive clairvoyants etc.. Im a little that way myself at times..
I often see things before they happen or just seem to know things.. years ago when I first got together with MrP we went to his lawyer to set up our wills etc.. I decribed him to MrP before we went there. I just knew what he would look like, down to his glasses shape.. And Most recently was on saturday when our grandies Mum was babysitting a couple of boys, she was telling me about the eldest boy and I said Is his name tristan by any chance, and yes I was right lol.. Never met these people or their kids. lol.

I got some of the junk sorted yesterday, and the other bed arrives this morning so Ill know if I can get stuff under the new bed or not. Ill be pleased when its done.

Today is the day MrP does his memory tests etc for dementia, Im dreading it and his reaction to it. Im just telling him the "reasearch" they do now might help our grandie in her old age... I hate lying but it needs to be done.

My friend must have picked up on my ESP yesterday cos she rang. her mum died around Labour weekend and I know they had alot to sort out etc, so havent made any contact. But the last couple of days Ive been thinking of her, so 2 hours later we finished the call lol..

Right Ill get a few things done here and then Take the leap into the unknown

Have a fab day ladies..

Ohh and Kiwimade I bet your glad you got the dirt done, before the rain came in.

morning ladies :) Wahoooo kuaka! Such a relief for you. And yes, I believe in that sort of stuff. I went to a clairvoyant around six years ago and omg she was so accurate it was scary. I was determined not to give her any 'clues' lol but she nailed my granddad to a t.

The rain was very welcome and settled the dust from the new garden/lawn. Will save me watering it to cool it down. The garden mix certainly gets to some high temperatures. I had already told MrK if it rains while I'm shoveling, I'll keep going as mud is heavier to move.

Good luck with MrP's 'research', popeye. Sometimes we have to 'exaggerate' to get our loved ones to do these things. He must find it very frustrating not being able to do what he usually would.

We have a wedding to go to next month and MrK is making some stunning photo frames out of recycled rimu. He's asked me to find a pretty border pattern he can put across the top and bottom so I'll do some research for that later. He used an embroidery pattern I had for his sister's Christmas pressie and it turned out stunning.

The bin man should be here soon, I need the bins emptied so I can mow the lawn. Both of our compost bins are 'closed' now as they are chockka block full. And I have some piles of weeds that need to go, can't put convolvulus into the compost anyway.

I'll try again with crafting later this afternoon lol.

Happy crafting :)

Well,,, its over... phew..

I think he was getting worried that he wouldnt be good enough.. I said there is no right or wrong.
Each exercise they did he got wrong, or around the wrong way. The Nurse either hasnt done many of the tests, or made a good job of looking like she hadnt. I thought we were seeing the dr at the same time but they must have been busy. So we will have to wait for results. Since it only took 15 minutes she did his annual diabetes checks while we were there.. . But hes happy enough about it. I was sitting behind him, so the Nurse could see me shake my head or not.

Came out and it was absolutely hosing down. So I didnt bother to stop to get MrP some drinks, he has enough at a stretch.

The new bed arrived and its like new.. complete with a lovely timber headboard. So Ive put that in place, the drawers I was wanting to put in there will fit.. yay. No room for storage underneath, other than some large pictures that I can slide in underneath.

but Im having the afternoon off and will finish my latest painting and sort the diamonds out for the next one.

Its stopped raining now , the lawns etc will be happy now.

morning ladies :) Thank goodness that's over for you both, popeye. Fingers crossed for good results.

I was halfway through mowing the lawn yesterday and it started to bucket down with rain. And it's still raining now, hopefully it will settle enough for me to finish the job. At least all this rain will cool the garden mix down for me to plant.

Today I'll do some baking for Christmas, my shortbread and a couple of slices. Everyone brings a 'main' and a 'dessert' for Christmas lunch and the host traditionally supplies the ham and/or turkey. I did a count up of how many family members are coming and there will be 16 for Christmas lunch and six dogs. That's family from both sides though. Please let it be a fine day so we can set the trestle up outside under the tree.

I hope to make the piping for the cushion today as well and maybe put the zip in. All weather dependent but will be good to have this cushion done.

The books haven't arrived yet from Book Depository, at least with the new letter box we had to buy this year they will be dry if delivered today.

Happy crafting :)

Good morning everyone
It rained on and off all night and is quite blustery so the grounds and gardens will be loving it.
Finished my painting and the diamonds are sorted into containers, so Ill start that picture after lunch. But this morning I plan to empty the fabric drawers into a crate. and pack some of the stuff thats going to the recycle center, into smaller boxes, which means I will use more and wont have to fill our bin before its due to be picked up next week lol... Otherwise you have to pay to take recycling up to the recycle centre now.

I want to bake, but MrP is trying to be good foodwise so I dont want to put temptation in his face. He actually beat me on the blood sugar levels this morning, first time in several years..!!

Was thinking yester... How did everyone come by their trade Me Names? My stepfather called me Popeye for two reasons he had dropped something tiny on the ground and started calling me Hawkeye, but then he knew I didnt like many green veges so it got changed to popeye, and only three people were ever allowed to call me popeye in person, but two are gone, leaving MrP to be the only one

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) It's cold this morning, even have my slippers on lol.

My TM name is because I'm a kiwi and born in 1964.

I have a few things to do outside today, yesterday's wind has broken a branch on one of my standard roses and there are branches everywhere blown off the tree. And I have a couple of plants that I'll shift into the new garden. As long as they are well watered, they will be fine.

I started sewing my cushion yesterday but can't do any more now until I open the parcel with the piping foot in it on Christmas Day. But the zip is in one piece of the gusset and the piping is all prepared ready for stitching.

I found a pic of a Celtic knot MrK is using to decorate the photo frames he's making and he's part way through making a jewellery box for our daughter's birthday next week. So he's on a mission as well to get things finished.

Today I'll lace the two embroideries I've finished onto boards and when in town next, will take them in to be framed. I have a stash of frames here but no black ones and our op shops don't have what I want either.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
I had thought that would be why youb had your name Kiwimade lol.. so we are practically a year apart.

I got all dne that I wanted to yesterday, was shattered by the time I moved furniture around, but other than the mirror everything should now be in their final place lol. Now I can finish putting things away and sort out what to take to the recycle centre tomorrow.

MrP seems to have a gastric yuck, so has decided to stay home, just in case. So I will shop by myself as Izzy and the clan have all finished school now , so I will probably nip into a couple of Oppies while I have the chance.

Shortly before I finished my tydying yesterday I kicked a box in my wardrobe, what I didnt realise was that it was bleeding, I saw some spots all over the floor in my bedroom... cleaning those off when I was sore wasnt much fun lol, bloody blood thinners and feet are an annoying fix lol...

Right Ill get a few things done here and then get cracking.. have a fab day all

morning ladies :) Hope MrP is ok and you haven't caught his bug, popeye.

I like the idea of being organised for your creations, flick. I'm a one-thing-at-a-time girl and don't like having big stashes. I think that's why I'm finding it frustrating not finishing my cushion until after Christmas.

Today is shopping day. I'll buy my pressie and my great nieces and groceries. I hate grocery shopping close to Christmas so will get as much as I can now.

A big branch came down off one of our trees yesterday and we had to tie a rope around it and the car's tow bar and pull it off that way. Not the best for the tree but it looks like the tree is dying anyway. I was trying not to grin as I hate the damed thing because it has massive thorns but MrK loves it. So after Christmas we will tidy up where the branch came off with the chainsaw and then see where we are at with it. I am hoping it will come down once and for all.

Washing machine has finished, I'm well trained to respond to the beeps lol.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Rather handy when something starts dying and breaking, which then sorts out what needs to be done about a tree we hate.
To this day I dont know why the cabbage tree that was out the front of our place started dying off.. but I was glad it did. We had wanted the council to cut it down, so in the end they had to. I suspect our landlord might have Delt to it, but thats something we will never know lol.

I enjoyed my time out yesterday, did two Oppies in Pukekohe and Pak n Save, came home put that lot away then had to go back up to get MrPs pills so I did our local as well.. Got two sets of single sheets, so we have three now and that will do. And 3 more cookbooks for my collection. One is a Scones book and it has some awesome recipes in it.. It will become a favourite I think.

I didnt paint yesterday, but thats ok. Ill get some done today cos my right hip is being a pain in the proverbial.

Yeh I wont be going shopping next week, Im well and truely stocked up and will only need milk, drinks and bananas at the most.

Its also overcast here so even if I wasnt hurting, I wouldnt be starting on the garage..

Have a fab day and please take care on the roads.

morning ladies :) omgg the supermarket madness has begun already. Pak n Save had very few carparks left when I finally got there. It was bucketing down with rain by the time I left Hamilton so a slow drive home. Today MrK is changing the oil and filter on the car and I will finally get the Christmas baking done. Not doing much, just the usual shortbread and a couple of slices. Will put half in the freezer and keep the rest as part of dessert or coffee/tea after Christmas lunch.

Happy crafting :)

Good Morning everyone
Our Pak nSave wasnt too bad on Thursday but I have no intention of going near it , if I can help it lol.. Im very well stocked, so should only need fresh stuff.
It is brillaintly fine today, but I want to get the normal housework done before I takle the garage. One bed to change, all the washing and then vaccuum. And the bathrooms hopefully before it gets too hot.

But I have several boxes of junk to take up to the recycle centre and get MrP out of the house. I must pick up some kumara too, probably expensive already, but I only want one. MrP likes it but chooses not to eat it.

I did some painting yesterday but I totally muck up two symbols.. I dont know how I started on N and ended up on D... but they are both reds so I gathered my spares and have it sorted. Phew.

I want to bake but MrP has said hes trying to be good and doesnt want any baking.. But he deicded the malt biscuits I got, with the thought of making some sort of slice, got started on yesterday, and it wasnt me lol.. I guess they are better in their original form rather than adding anything else to them lol.

Right Ill get a few things done on here and chase MrP up lol..

Kerikeri is totally mad cars backed up 3 kms from the roundabout l won't need anything else vegore xmas thank goodness. I am helping miss 7 make stacked xmas trees for family members as well as fudge, iced xmas theme cookies and some slices for her nans. She is a very competent little cook and follows recipes well only needs help getting hot things out the oven. I dozed off yesterday afternoon and she made macaroni for tea with a side salad and even did the dishes. I have really enjoyed teaching kids at her school this year thru the garden to table programme, after several years of bad health it was great to be doing something l love again.
I wish you all a very merry Xmas and a great 2020, how has it got to 2020 already time flys.

Morning everyone
Our Grandies family went to Pukekohe yesterday and her Mum said it was Packed. They didnt have much to do tho so was outta there before it drove her insane.
Was a lovely day yesterday, sunny but enough breeze to keep it bearable temp wise. Was good for washing too, was hanging a load out and the lawn people came so I pushed it as far as I could away from the edge of the concrete and they turned the mower the oposuite direction so no grass on the washing lol...
Have another load ready to hang out since its pretty much the same as yesterday.
I didnt paint yesterday I was inredibly tired for some reason. But I didnt have a nap, just nodded off while watching tv last night lol.

Glad to hear you are feeling well enough to help oout at school again Huntlygirl.
Years ago I used to help teach Thai women how to bake Kiwi Foods for their Kiwi Husbands, one of my Thai friends knew enough english ( she had been a teacher) that she could translate questions for me, and help the others if they didnt understand in english. So cooking and english lessons at once.
Have a wonderful day everyone...

afternoon ladies :) The main road has gone quiet, I hope there hasn't been an accident somewhere.

Lawn edges trimmed, gardens given a quick weed, oven cleaned, housework done. Am really enjoying sitting down lol. Tomorrow I mow the lawn before the day gets hot and bake the pav. Am also a sober driver for MrK and his mates.

My brother phoned, we only found each other this year and we hope to meet next month. Am sooo excited, the best Christmas pressie ever.

Miss Seven sounds very competent in the kitchen, huntlygirl, well done!

Time to do the ironing, might as well iron the tablecloth for Christmas Day while I'm at it.

Happy crafting :)

Kiwimade, Im tempted to try doing a pav in this slow oven here, I have plenty of eggs... Might give it a go tomorrow or Tuesday... Trouble is MrP is making really good progress in behaving foodwise... will see...

morning ladies :) It's pav making day, found online a recipe and Chelsea guarantees it lol. And I'm on turkey cooking duty for Christmas Day too (heaven help us lol) so will find how to cook that too. I have only ever cooked turkey once before and it turned out OK. I'll cook that Christmas Eve.

But first, lawns to mow then back to working my way through the to-do list. We have an old front door we put on MrK's saw horses and use as a table. This needs to be scrubbed down and some of the outdoor furniture given a bit of a clean as well.

Traffic is starting to bank up in town already, we're a halfway point for a lot of destinations so any trips into town need extra time (and patience)

Meant to say in my previous post, Happy Christmas huntlygirl!

Happy crafting :)
