I reckon you can never have too much wool either

morning ladies :) Wow sunflowers, that's a huge amount of yummy apricots! And how lovely to have a mystery person leave plants for you.

We had power cuts yesterday as well, from 4.00pm until around 9.00pmish. Power came on around 7.00pm then went out again just as I got up to put the kettle on lol. Got the camp cooker out and boiled water from the kettle that way. We always have water on hand as no power = no water for us.

Today I'm going to have a go at sewing my own piping. You can't seem to buy piping anymore and the lady at Spotlight said it was just too hard to get the right colours for everyone. So they bring in the piping cord and you make your own. I make my own bias binding so this is just another step. I have a piping foot for my machine so I won't say it will be a doddle, but it will be easier than using my zipper foot.

MrK is out for the day so I'm going to make the most of it.

happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, I have been spending a little time in the garden most days, but I never seem to get out there early enough to beat the heat - that's the trouble with being a night owl rather than an early bird. What doesn't get done one day can wait till another. There's only me here and I'm not trying to impress anyone, just tidy the garden up to make it easier for myself.

Working at the op shop again this afternoon for a friend. I'm supposed to be working again on the 12th but I'm going to try to find someone to do it for me, I am really over it.

Have been busy making things for the market and still have a list of things I want to do. I had a look the other day at my stash of yarn and thought "good grief - I am never going to live long enough to use all this!)

Right, I had better get a wriggle on and get some chores done before I head off to work.

Have a super day everyone.

Good morning everyone, another warm one here today in napier - hopefully not as hot as yesterday. After doing a few things in town yesterday morning and housework in the arvo, my crochet had to wait until after dinner - managed to finish another ball lol so only 2 more to do :) The blanket is in a teal colour - not something i would have picked, but its coming up amazingingly well
Did a little bit in the garden last night too, and watered the plants, lemon tree and lawns also.
Hope everyone has a great day - stay cool and hydrated lol and have fun crafting/gardening or pottering

morning ladies :) Looks like rain today but still warm. Had windows open all of last night and even the Furry One slept on the floor for most of the night.

I am trying to convince MrK we need to get the top soil for the garden sooner rather than later, he's a procrastinator and gets really peeved that I want things done 'now'. All I need is his help with the trailer and I will shovel the soil off so I don't think I'm asking for much.

Yesterday I sewed my own piping and omg it was so easy. The new piping foot was amazing (an early Christmas present from MrK) and made sewing a real doddle. So I'm inspired now to sew all the piping in between embroidering so when I have finished the rose I can get straight onto sewing the cushion. Once these cushions are finished I'll look at sewing the outdoor cushions for the seats MrK built.

I'm picking buckets of roses at the moment, I have a good bucketful throughout the house and gave another bucketful away to a friend yesterday. And our wheelie bin smells sweet from all the deheading :)

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, I woke to the sound of heavy rain, but it didn't last long, hopefully enough that I won't need to water the garden today, but I probably also won't be able to mow any lawns today either - how sad!!!!

I've started a crochet "wool-eater" baby blanket in 4 ply. I think it's going to look pretty and will use up some 4 ply that I bought a while back and then wondered why on earth I had bought it. I am going to have to do some serious knitting and crochet or de-stashing because when I look around the house at the amount of yarn I have it's ridiculous.

Market again Sunday and Monday, I want to get some sewing done before then, so today is as good as any. I will make a concerted effort to finish off some projects today.

Have a super day everyone.

Afternoon everyone

I just typed up heaps and it vanished, hasnt done that in ages.

So a condensed version.

Been busy up the road this morning, got an awesome goodie bag from the chemists christmas party. did several other things while up there.
Sorted the recycling, did dishes and cleaned Rolys Cage etc and now Im sitting lol
Kiwimade MrP is the one who wants to do things yesterday lol.

Kuaka years ago Mum and I desided to give up knitting etc. We sold all our wool, needles patterns etc.. And now I have more than what we had. But Im not going to even think about selling it cos MrP would go balistic ..lol

Its clouded over here now so the harshness has gone. yesterday was very humid.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, it is so frustrating when the message disappears just as you're about to post it. Happens to me from time to time and I never know why.

I did manage to get a few things done yesterday ready for the market. Today I plan to try to have a haircut and then maybe play mah jong at the club this afternoon but if the numbers don't work, I will come home and do some more crafting. I might try to mow a lawn before I go for my haircut. If I don't do it today Tuesday will be the earliest I will have a chance as I'm at the . market all day tomorrow and Monday.

We had dolphins in the bay earlier in the week, awesome to watch them from my kitchen window. I think about moving to a smaller house with a smaller, easier to manage garden, but then I would miss my sea view so no plans to downsize yet for a while.

Right, I had better get moving if I'm to do a lawn or two before I go for a haircut.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
Yeah its really annoying when things dissappear.

I have the floors to do and then Ill make ice cream.. But that also depends on which day Izzys family come to do the gardens and hand the blinds for us.
I got a 2 litre of cream the other day for $5 as its run out date is tomorrow.. So I will make both the lemon and chocolate recipes I have.

Painting later. I am over half way and about to start the second Snowman..

Have a great day everyone

Good morning everyone. Have woken up to a cooler day which is nice. Mowed lawns and pottered around yesterday. We have a 12 week old puppy so even tho housework has been done it doesn't look like it after he has found treasures to chew on the carpet!
Off out to the bay view market this morning to have a look around. Then the Santa parade tomorrow. Aiming to put the Christmas tree up tomorrow as well. Not sure how that will go with Oscar (the puppy). No crochet yesterday, but planning on having a bit of down time this afternoon to get some done.
We are now on water restrictions in Napier, so can only water every second day for a couple of hours morning and night.
Have a good day everyone

morning ladies :) What a view, kuaka :) How cool to be able to watch the dolphins from your kitchen. Good luck with the markets.

I was up at sparrow's fart again this morning and cleaned the outside windows. It's quicker than it sounds with the Karcher and extension poles lol but I like to do them before the sun hits the glass. I've deheaded two climbing roses and given them a feed of plant fert and put the hose on them. MrK drilled a hole in our big wooden gates and put a hose connection in it for me and then put a shorter piece of hose on the other side of the fence so all I have to do is connect the long hose to the short one through the gate :D Saves dragging the hose out onto the road. He has some very clever ideas. Our neighbor is coming this morning to remove the concrete I have piled up :D :D :D Am so over concrete!

Still beavering away with the embroidery for the cushion. I have the rose all outlined now and half of the leaves finished. Hope to do more of it this afternoon when it is too hot to be outside.

Happy knitting :)

Good morning everyone

We had a beautiful day yesterday but very hot... It was 29 on an inside wall, with both doors open with a good breeze. But the other house would probably have been in the late 30s, so it is better here. Mind you they topped up the insulaton down there, not long before we left.

I made 4 litres of chocolate chocolate chip ice cream yesterday.. I didnt get the lemon one made cos I didnt have lemons for the zest lol..

I got alot done on my painting. Should finish it today dependiing on how long the family are here.
The kids are going to weed the garden and I might get the eldest to trim some yakka plants. And izzys parents are going to install the venetian blinds in the kitchen.. Like the prevous house the sun glares on the benches.
Hope you had a lovely day yesterday Sunflowers.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) *does the happy dance on the table* the concrete is gone!!! wooppp wooooppp!!! Well, the big pieces are, I still have the small pieces to dispose of but that is manageable. Am soooo happy. And MrK has dug the holes for the poles where the seat will be. I can't believe it, this corner is finally taking shape. And I have a big crater where the shrub was pulled out slap bang in the middle so that is where the water feature will be. No digging big holes for the water reservoir. Hopefully, I can get the top soil next week.

I've been weeding this morning, half way round the garden. The rest can wait until tomorrow. Deheading roses and giving them a good feed as I go too. My first flush is almost over.

Crafting after lunch, I think I have earned it this morning :)

Happy knitting :)

Good morning everyone

Was a nice day yesterday, not soo hot .

The family came around, but it had gone overcast so we left the garden.. But Ohh the blinds look soo cool in the window. The gap works well too cos the smaller one is over the opening window, but theres still enough gap to put my boook holder and glass chopping board in.
I dont think Madam has had a look yet, unless she did when we were in bed.
Im going to the old place today for lemons to get this lemon ice cream made for MrP.. I text the lady that lives there asking if she had a good crop and could I have a few and she replied, "Id do and you can " so thats cool. Shes a lovely lady.

I finished my painting, the first of three christmas ones... the photo is a little too close up
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1215260286.jpg

Hope to get another freezer done today, I might do it after tea tho cos the sun isnt around that side, so it will be cooler.

Have a wonderful day everyone

morning ladies :) Am glad you had a lovely birthday, sunflowers :) And those apricots sound divine!

Popeye, your diamond work looks great :) I was on the Fox Collection website looking for a few embroidery things and noticed they had a nice selection of diamond paintings. Might be worth having a look.

Lindylou, sounds like you had an awesome day with 'the girls', I love those types of days. As for the sunburn, yep, I've been caught out too and must remember to use sunblock from now on. And cherries... ommgg they are the best fruit lol.

I've finished the weeding and trimmed all the grass edges as I went as well as deheading and feeding the roses. I can't mow the lawn until the wheelie bin is emptied tomorrow and our compost bins are full as well. The piece of timber being used for the seat has been moved to where the seat is going. MrK needs to use his chainsaw on it but that has a petrol blockage so it's in for repairs this morning. My sister-in-law calls the new seat the 'Santa' seat lol.

Dishes to do now and a general tidy up inside. Things inside tend to be neglected when busy in the garden. But the way I see it, once I'm on top of the spring weeding and pruning, then summer in the garden is easy peasy. And why be inside on a lovely day.

Happy knitting :)

Good morning all, a bit cooler here in napier at the moment.
Kiwimade - you must be so happy about the concrete, and seeing the progress in your corner. Your Christmas wreath looks amazing - your very talented.
We went to the Santa Parade yesterday - 31 degrees in the car when we parked and it seemed hotter than that. Called into the warehouse and got the last bits for my christmas shopping (and a couple more fans for the bedrooms) so went home and wrapped the last bits. Just 1 voucher and a santa stocking to go. Feel very organised. Also get the specials from Pak n save christmas club so went and got those last night too.
Working today (just having my morning tea break) but still plodding away with my teal blanket. Also going to start another dishcloth tonight just for a change.
Popeye - do you use a particular recipe for your lemon ice cream? It sounds really nice. I normally use Jo Seagers recipe but do either passionfruit or feijoa

mary-poppins - 2019-12-02 10:23:00
15473

Mary-poppins its a dessert with a cornflake base, MrP calls it his lemon icecream.. Its refreshing.. Ill type it up later for you.

Went to our old place this morning and the lady there showed me through, so I could see the changes... Its much more workable and looking fresh there. All the things that we would have liked to have done.
Then I raided the lemons, picked some ouha for Roly and Missy and picked on bloom off the Ice Berg Rose..
We get on really well and shes quite happy to take over the care of the curatins lol.

Ohh the Passionfruit vine is absolutely loaded... Id say its either the best crop or 2nd best. Cos it was loaded one year and the new lawn mowerman hit the stems and it died with all the lovely fruit on it.. She said it will make her very popular with the family lol.

And oddly she has had heart surgery as well... so that makes 7 people that have lived in the two units and two houses over the back, that have had heart surgery 3 of being kids.

Back to the normal world now lol

15474

Popeye it sounds interesting, would be really grateful if its nit too much trouble :) We have a loaded lemon tree so always trying to find more lemon recipes besides lemon cake lol
Have just been home for my lunch break and hubby had put the dishwasher on and had my coffee ready so managed to do a couple of rows of crochet which was a first lol
Better get back to my invoicing, next thing it will be 4.30 and home time yay
:)

15475

morning ladies :) omggg mary-poppins, you have no idea how happy I am to have that big pile of concrete gone. I worked out the other day I have 'disposed' of over 600 pieces (small) over the last two years in our wheelie bin. And then there was all the massive pieces I have used for garden edging, along the fenceline to stop the dog digging under the fence and the odd bit on a trailer when going to the local dump. There was literally tonnes of the stuff. Thank goodness soil and plants hide the concrete along the fenceline and plants grow over the edging. I'll find a photo of the original pile from when we first moved here, it was almost taller than me. And then there was all the buried stuff I found.

This morning I'm back to mowing the lawn. There are big black clouds so hoping to miss the rain. I need the bins emptied (should be very soon) and am waiting for my antihistamine to kick in. And I need to go into town to find a decent sized box to pack my sister-in-law's Christmas present in and buy present labels and wrapping paper. I usually have a stash of these but used them all last Christmas.

Crafting this afternoon if all goes to plan. Am still embroidering the rose, undid one petal three times lol as I wasn't happy with the direction I was placing the stitches.

Happy knitting :)

We got new neighbours a house over last night. They have brought it, so will hopefully be there lnger than the last lady, was there maybe 3 months before it was put on the market.

I will paint this afternoon cos I will need to rest, the Hammies are really sore again, but I dont have time to stop and feel sorry for myself. cos they rest of me Im feeling dangerous strong and healthy.

Good Morning Ladies .I am apricot out!!!!.Been up since 6am and taken two of us to clear the lawn/ garden of apricots. Has to be clear so they can mow the lawn today. Over the wind and we are going to have showers today as well.. We gave two lge boxes of fruit yesterday to one of a service club. About 12+kgs. and Food Bank recevied 6+kgs on Friday.
Kiwimade they are the ones that are golden colour. My Great Uncle Use to send boxes on bus from the Thames Coast for my mother's Birthday which was 27 Nov. They use to say if they where early we would have good summer if late it be windy and wet.
My friend just came in we picked up 8kgs. It's like this every couple of years.
Pickedup my knitting last night and did a few rows.
Kiwimade was your section concreted???. I feel for you. We been in this house for 14 years and I still take a tin for the stones etc with me when I'm gadening as we are on a riverbed. It came up when they had the EQ in the 1930's. Get the odd pieces glass and concrete. It's a pain!

Tree will go up at the w/end and need to finish off a couple of gifts. Staying down here this year and will visit family and friends in the New Year. That the plan Hoping Kiwimade we may catchup with every other.
Popeye can you give me the recipe for the ice cream please. Good to hear your new place is cooler for you. First Summer for you in this place?

The City is very busy with tourist ships coming in just about everyday. So I try not go in at this time of the year.
Are they buying at the market Kuaku? The shops are busy here, depends on the weather as well. There is alot of Bus Tours around the area. Some hire a car and drive up to Taupo,Rotoura and go back on the boat at Tauranga.
Time to move just had a coffee and pick up the fruit again.Yes we are doing it 2-3 times a day wind dropped as well.
Hoping to get some inside job done as well today
Happy Crafting Ladies and have a great day..

Thanks Popeye, just whenever you have a spare moment.
Sunflowers, Im so jealous of your apricots, I wish I had bought my tree back when we moved back to town from Te Pohue a couple of years ago.
Work again to day, then tomorrow off yipee. Managed a couple of hours crocheting last night so very happy with that. Should have the blanket finished by the weekend. Planning to start another one (or finish one i has started) then do a few dishcloths inbetween

A closeup view. The duck is one of a small flock we had that kept the snails and slugs at bay.

So you can see why I am so thrilled to be nearing the end of the concrete saga. Sunflowers, the previous owner moved the driveway from off the main highway as it was just too dangerous for her to get in and out of her drive. Behind that big pile was another big pile buried.

Wow Kiwimade no wonder you are Over all the concrete.

Good things come to those that wait, and Im sure your going to love it when its all finished.
Then it will just be pruning, weeding and lawns lol.

I got the last freezer done, Yay. Gave away a heap of bread rolls .. As I was doing it I was thinking, Im doing this bulk shop with the christmas club, but what I should be buying is meat. And handy thats its meat week too... Meat is a problem, I always look but often walk away without any. so that will be the biggest amount in the trolley and out of the christmas club.

Made the lemon puddings this afternoon, got enough exercise just walking to and from the freezers lol... But they are done so thats sorted..

I might not be online first thing tomorrow, cos I think we may be going early.

So have a good day everyone

morning ladies :) Mary-poppins, we loved our ducks and they had the cutest yellow ducklings. The only thing we hated was they pooped everywhere lol.

It's going to be a scorcher today so up early to finish the inside windows and evict any critters squatting there.

Yesterday the storm hit and omggg I have never seen wind like it. Did a reckkie of the garden and a few branches have come off the trees but they did their job of protecting the rest of the garden. Even the Furry One was shaking like crazy and he only does that in storms with thunder.

I've wrapped a few gifts but still need to buy a few more for the grandkids. MrK's gift should arrive today and I'll buy mine (easier this way as I get what I want lol) when in Hamilton or Tauranga next. Book Depository's cut off date for Christmas delivery to NZ is tomorrow so I'll have a look there for books.

Almost finished the rose, I have three petals to do and a few more leaves. Then I can start sewing.

Happy crafting :)

Have to catchup with some inside jobs. Another hot day here in Napier.
Will so happy for you Kiwimade your gardens are looking great. Just hope we do'nt get another strom again. It's good when you can buy your own Gift.(s).

Morning ladies, boy did we have some heavy rain yesterday, it didn't last long but it came down, as my friend would say, "like stair-rods".

There was a ship in yesterday but we didn't have a market 'cos the Bridge club use the hall, but when I drove into town, the rain was so thick and murky that I couldn't see the ship at all. It was definitely there when I went to town after mah jong to have a meal at the Thai restaurant with friends.

Out this morning for coffee at stitch and bitch then on to lunch with the "bunny club girls". Always makes me laugh as I'm one of the youngest so hardly "girls".

I had a reasonable day at the market on Monday, not quite so good on Sunday, lots of lookers but not many putting their hands in their pockets. Lots of compliments on all my lovely stuff and how clever I am, but doesn't translate into sales.

I've been busy making things for the market, the weather hasn't really been conducive to gardening, I'm afraid I'm a bit of a reluctant gardener, certainly a fair weather one, and then if it's too hot, that's another excuse to craft instead of garden. I am determined to tidy it up though, I'm just choosing my timing carefully!

I am very impressed with what you have achieved in your garden kiwimade. I wish I had your energy and enthusiasm.

Right. Washing machine is beeping - I had better put the washing out. I hate being told by a machine that I need to do something, but it's better than doing it all by hand, which I had to when I was first married. I was married nearly a year before I had my first washing machine, and I had a baby and all those nappies!

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) I am sooo regretting picking the Christmas lilies. Woke sneezing and with streaming eyes so all the windows are open and I'm waiting for my antihistamine to kick in. It's been a tough few days hayfever wise as silage was being cut all around us, there's privet in the neighbour's hedge and all the dust and dirt from the corner and garden.

Yesterday I spotted our resident blackbird having a bath in the Furry One's water bowl ( we have several dotted outside for him over summer). The Furry One was watching from the window and looked very indignant lol, wish I could have taken a pic of his face. I thought and this from a dog who would drink from the toilet if he could reach!

Crazy weather eh, kuaka. And this weekend the storm is meant to be back too.

I'm shopping today and hoping to finish Christmas shopping for the grandkids. MrK's pressie arrived yesterday and he desperately wanted to use it (woodworking bits and pieces) but I've wrapped it so he can't lol. And I found an awesome book about Japanese wood joinery and ordered it for him. Love Book Depository as there is no shipping fee. Will be interesting to see how the new GST laws affect it.

Better move, I'm being called by the washing machine. I hate being 'trained' by the beeps too lol but I would probably leave the washing in the machine if it didn't beep.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Wow he had a hot sunny day yesterday, barely any wind either.. And it looks like it will be the same today.

We spent 2 hours in Pak n save yesterday, well it was a bit over I think lol.. But everyone including staff were smiling and happy.. Ive completed stocking the freezers up now.. In the last month ive spent $330 on meat and it took a while to pack yesterdays lot down. The results ware 69 meals,, plus left overs, cos the chooks are bigger than I normally buy, and there will be things like meatloaves etc that do MrP3 plus meals usually.

I had a sugar low when we were out, but soo pleased I had my container of jubes in my handbag.

Today I got get my B12 shot and I have a couple of things I forgot yesterday.. and I had a two page list lol.

Bit of a rest day today.

Yep Kiwimade I asked on fb last night if the lillies bothered your nose, I hope I didnt jinx it.

Right I better get a couple of things done before I head out again..Painting later cos I didnt get any done yesterday

Have a fab day all

Afternoon everyone, stupidly hot here again today
It was my day off yesterday so got heaps of little jobs done. Christmas tree will go up tomorrow afternoon or over the weekend.
Wow popeye, i would love to have freezer like you do lol. Our 40 year old freezer gave up the ghost about 3 months ago - was horrible loosing all the stuff from there even though it was very low cost items
I only have 1 ball left to do for the teal baby blanket - yay so will get that finished over the next couple of days and wrapped for Christmas. Than start on my dishcloths
Hope everyone is staying cool and have a great afternoon doing what makes you happy

morning ladies :) Another hot day on the way so I'll be outside shortly. Only a few things left to do in the garden, stake up a dahlia that was blown over, a standard rose needs more support and the last garden needs weeding. Next week the top soil arrives for the new garden. We will have to shovel it onto the garden, well, I will. As long as MrK backs the trailer up close to the edge for me as I'm hopeless at backing trailers.

I would miss our freezer too if it died. It was one of the first things we bought when first married so it will be around 35 years old next year. We didn't need a washing machine as our flat had one. It was one of those twin tub things and many of MrK's shirts were destroyed in it. I ended up washing a bit by hand too, kuaka although I can't imagine doing nappies! It would be the wringing out that would get me. Nappies took a while to dry anyway without being spun on a spin cycle!

Almost finished embroidering the rose, just a few more leaves to do. I'm happy with it and hope I can do it justice when I sew it together. The other day I bought the companion piece to the cat embroidery to do. It will probably be my New Year project.

Happy crafting :)

Good Morning everyone
Lol re the washing stories.. When I first moved in with MrP he had one of those twin tub machines.. Unforunatley he was soo excited to be going to Mangakino to visit his sister that when we went home on the weekend the spinner was still spinning, all weekend.. His near brand new jumper was Spun to death..Mebeing the industrious type, used it to line some pot mits, just the little square ones for the hand lol.

My worst experience was when I first moved to Mango. I was washing by hand. I had to go up the street, and I didnt have a car so it took longer to do. In the time I was gone our german sheperd who I had kindly tied under the carport out of the sun had pulled all that she could reach off the line and buried in the dirt oon the ground cos the carport door hadnt been concreted at that time.
I was soo annoyed with her that I told her I wasnt going to give her dinner, she came up to me put her head in my lap and looked soo sad I couldnt refuse her anything lol...It was a mess to clean out by hand lol.

Today Im going to get a couple of boxes of appaliance out of the bottom of the pantry and put them in the spare room, and put the bulk groceries in..
And possibly pack down some of the ornaments in the lounge..to make room for the christmas stuff... But Im not in a rush to do anything, I think the last week caught up with me lol...

Have a wonderful day everyone

morning ladies :) Foggy here this morning but hot days and cool nights tend to make fog the next day.

Not much happening, still a bit more shopping to do but at last both books I ordered are now on their way from Book Depository. Housework to do and then into town for a bit. The top soil for the garden has been put back a week so it will be Christmas week when it arrives. Suits me as my sister will be in hospital and I will be busy with Christmas stuff too.

Nearly finished embroidering the leaves but it will be over a week before I can sit at my machine and sew. Oh well, that's life.

Happy knitting :)

morning ladies :) I had a better nights sleep last night thanks to the antihistamine meds. Still not 100% though, the silage across the road has been baled so hopefully things will improve.

I'm down to the nitty-gritty of Christmas shopping. A few Santa sack pressies and my rotary blade to buy. I wrap as I go or take advantage of any gift wrapping service offered. I think I used a whole roll of sellotape wrapping our grandson's toy dinosaur lol. Should have found a box.

I have a few things to do that's weather dependent so will see how the day goes. Otherwise I'll potter about inside. It's pretty warm already so am about to open all the windows.

Happy crafting :)

Morning everyone
Another hot night and hotter start to the day.

I crashed yesterday with the heat.. not to tear level but Im pretty low and dreading today. but I will make myself do things.

I got some of the decorating done yesterday, its like being reunited with old friends when I get the knitted toys etc out. Izzys family are coming arund today to move the tv,, it only needs abou 6 inches, then I will have room for the christmas tree next to it and by the power point. And the kids are going to do some garden for me. Ill let the eldest, if ok with his parents use the saw and seriously trim the yakka...

My craft room looks like a bomb has gone off in there, cos the christmas crates are in there.. Theres another one somewhere , Im thinking in the spare room cos it has my huge vase of balls in it. Once I have my long awaited coffee table on Thursday Ill be able to put the vase on there. Missy spent time snuggled up to it last year lol

try and have an awesome day everyone.. and Keep cool

morning ladies :) We had a very early start to the day thanks to a possum up our tree and the Furry One determined to catch it. He was so chuffed with himself for chasing it up there lol. In the end we locked him inside until the possum left. I know it will be back so am going to find a possum trap. My garden is under siege! Between the rabbits and now possum I'm surprised anything is left standing.

We had a massive storm last night, the lightening and thunder were amazing. There was one massive crack of thunder right over the house, it was the loudest sound I have every heard and felt like something was hitting the house. Later we thought it was the sound bouncing off the roof. The Furry One shot outside and barked at it like crazy lol.

Better move while the day is calm and do my weed spraying where I can't hand weed. And it will give me a chance to see what damage (both storm and possum), if any, there is outside.

Happy crafting :)

Please feel free to send the storm here.. we had as they say 6 spits abut tea time but that was it.
The family didnt turn up yesterday so I didnt get any further with the decorating. So I just moped about all day.

Last night I bagged up the kids lollies, they have very full goody bags lol.. Ad a nice variety too... Ive enjoyed doing that.

Taking MrP to the drs this morning about his legs, although they are improved from last week.

Not sure what I will do when I get home. Although Im very tempted to take a big pain med to help. My Hammies still wont behave and Ive got to the stage where bending over is very painful. So im trying to avoid it lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies from Hot Sunny Napier. Off out to A Christmas Lunch today. Have a couple more Lunches and a Dinner over the next week. I enjoyed looking at the ChristmasTree Saturday. Five of us went and enjoyed it. We walked around the floor a couple of times.
Picked up two boxes of Apicots yesterday and raked up under the tree afterwards.
We had a few drops of rain last night,so I didn't water. Mistake!! I got up early and did my pots this morning.
Finished a wrap for my support person over the w/end. Still need to put the tree up. Have a couple little people who want to help me with it. After school this week.Their mother and I are going along to the school later this week.

I'm sure Popeye your friends will be in to help you move the TV. There just so much on at this time of the year.
Sorry to hear Mr P legs are not good. Hopefully the Drs can help him today.

Kiwimade, have to smile about your dog going after a possum. Hope there not to much damage in the gardens. Not heard if Morrinsville got the strom last night.Time to move,as time is getting awy from me
Have a great day everyone.

Morning everyone
Yesterday the Humidity took leave.. Yay.. So it was much nicer.

Took MrP to the drs,now armed with antibiotics. And she was able to gently tell him off about his blood sugars..And he didnt get angry.

In the afternoon I went out and cut up the branches that the sky man cut down to fix the tv lol.. Put them in a hube greens bag, and then i did the worst hair cut ever on the yukkas lol. But its now safe for everyone to walk past.
So now I haves scratches and bruises all over lol... But I did enjoy it lol

Our Grandie has her first Pre- School visit today.. Its also her Mums birthday. Shes ready but were not lol.
I have to wrap Mums presnt this morning and then Ill see if I can wrangle the christmas tree down.
And hopefully clean up some of the mess. Im not liking how things are looking at present.

Got a txt from the clinic yesterday. My gynae appointment has been put back suddenly till Jan. Im guessing the gynae lady I see has had her baby perhaps earlier than expected. So im pleased they have put me back a bit.

We figured out yesterday that our hayfever, sneezing etc must be from the carpet of daisys we have. Cos we have been loving with kaikuyu so long that we have an abundance now lol. They are pretty tho lol

Have a fab day everyone... I hope to paint today, I havent touched it for a few days

Morning Ladies, here is a picture of the finished teal baby blanket.
Very happy with it.
Will add a picture of the pink one i have finished also.
We had some rain here last night, not really enough to be useful, but a small amount. Managed to get some gardening done last night too, and have two loads of washing out this morning before work, so feeling quite organised. I have popped a corned beef into the crockpot too, so just veg to sort for dinner.
Lots of different things happening in the next couple of weeks with school assemblies, school trips and work related catch ups. I did manage to make a dishcloth last night which has come up really well. I have used two different shades of purple so it have a cool effect to it.
Hope everyone's day goes well and there is time for crafting.
Popeye, i hope your grandie has a great first school visit, they are so so good at making the kids feel welcome, and she will come home a big school girl lol
Sunflower, if you would like to sell some of your surplus apricots id be more than happy to rake up and buy a kilo or two :)
Kiwi, i hope the possum has departed, i can imagine the high pitchen noise the little one was making to alert mum and dad of the intruder lol
Well better do some work i guess, only 5 more work days for me until we close down. Have until Jan 13th off which will be great
