Good Morning ladies. Overcast and grey sky here today. Not alot happen here. Lawns got cut yesterday and load of of garden waste went away as well. The gardens got a good watering last night. Winds dries the ground out.
Had some xray reults back and not looking great, waiting for apointment at the hospital.
Had my Book Art gear out and working on a couple of books for gifts. I prepared the paper at the w/end and now dry so just have to work out what I will use.

Kiwimade I'm with Popeye, drop Mr K off and you go shopping for the fabric and other bites you need. We are down to Spotlight in Hastings or the Sewing Machine shop or Patchwork fabrics in Napier. Lost a couple of good fabric shops.
It's getting to get darker now rain not far off. Will save watering.

Hope everyone enjoying some crafting as we get busy as the days get closer to Christmas and the end of the year.

morning ladies:) lol yes, I thought of dropping him off but I want to do a 'decent' shop, not have him toe tapping as he has finished and I haven't. Omg flick, what a hoot with your husband!

I saw your FB post popeye, well done with the cardiologist! That's great news and must be a relief to you.

My sewing machine is in for a service and should be back Friday. I was drooling over some fabric and the lady said, you can't buy that, you have no machine lol. I had forgotten they have a lovely selection of fabric. They also sell wool so the 'perfect' shop :P

It's cold this morning, we even have the heat pump on. Once I get moving I should warm up. Have lots to do in the garden, the wind has battered my delphiniums and one standard rose is on a slant so they all need tying up. Roses need de-heading already and as usual, there are plenty of weeds.

Crafting later today, might even be earlier if it rains again.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Yep Kiwimade Im stoked that the cardiologist is happy. Have to keep an eye on the afib but otherwise all is good.
MrPs cardiologist visit is the 25th, with a different team.

Had an awesome time out yesterday, MrP was happy not grumpy, and I got baby cuddles. from a wooly friend I met on FB and she visited me last year when I was in hospital. So we had three generations cos wee Luke her latest grandson was with his mum and his Nana. No sign of crying at being held by a stranger too which was cool.

We are going to do the oppies after our House lady has been, I predict MrP wont come into all 3 but you never know. lol He could barely walk when we got home last night.

Painting this afternoon since I didnt get any done yesterday.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I am sooo excited lol. One corner of our garden needs a helping hand with a digger to remove a heap of concrete fill left over from the previous owner taking out a driveway. Over the past couple of years I have been putting in the wheelie bin smaller, manageable pieces of concrete but am now down to the nitty gritty of the job. Our friend is coming Wednesday with his digger to finally finish off what I can't. I've been waiting two years for this lol. He'll also take out a huge shrub and a dying magnolia tree. There will be more garden for me to build (just a tad lol) and will tidy up a very unsightly corner. *does the happy dance*

I still need to stake the delphiniums so will get that done as soon as I have finished my coffee.

Today I will cut out the frost cloth cover for the cushion. My pattern says you have to cover the foam first which makes sense as the proper cover won't grab onto the foam. I can't sew until my machine comes back but it will give me an idea of my measurements and I can use the frost cloth as a pattern on the fabric. I am reusing the frost cloth that covered my sister's new couch when it was delivered so upcycling too. There's a heap of it to use!

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Ohh you will have fun planning a new corner Kiwimade... And yeah covering the foam will make it far easier to get the real cover on and off for sure. MrP has a memory foam pillow and even tho it has a cover on it its still a right pig to put a pillow case on it, so it had two lol.

Im going to load the dishwasher and probably have two loads today.. then Im going to gather all my bits and design my wreath.. I probably wont get it made, but Ill know what I want and where, Ill take photos and then make it tomorrow morning.
At the clinic the other day a couple of Doors hade been made to look like parcels, with the + of ribbon and a bow in the middle. Simple but really cool. I might consider doing it to the ranch slider.. thank goodness for Blue tac lol.. But it looked really neat.

Its a bit overcast today so Im not sure what the day will bring.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I didn't realise just how much I would miss my sewing machine lol. I've cut out the frost cloth for the first layer on the cushion and am all good to go sewing wise. But no machine lol. They say patience is a virtue but I'm not that virtuous!

I have a pile of rubbish to burn today so will get that done before the wind kicks in. Garden wise it's just the weekly weeding and deheading roses. The baby starlings nesting in the roof have gone this morning, so no more chirping and calling from them. They were noisy little buggars lol.

Popeye, your wreath sounds like fun. I'm drying my smaller roses and lavender again for mine. The wardrobe they are hanging in smells devine.

I've been having a tutu with cutwork embroidery but have decided it's not for me at the moment. Buttonhole stitch over an entire piece can be a tad monotonous. I need to buy the fabric for the cushion and start the embroidery on that so will do that next week.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
I can imagine the smell of the roses Kiwimade.. Yumm.

I have to admit I would feel like my Arm had been cut off, not to be able to go and use my sewing machines when I feel like it... I need to have another go at threading the overlocker, cos I have a book bag to make.

Ill take a photo of "so far" on the wreath later. I have it made to as far as I can go, I feel it needs something else in the middle, but I will have to troll through the oppies for what ever it is Im yet to find. Missy thought it would be fun to help so I have to vaccuum the tinsel up this morning lol

Im going to paint today, Im a little annoyed, they havent sent me enough of one of the colours, so Ive decided to finish it and then Ill know if I need more of any other colours. The companies are pretty good at sending them but of course its another 3 week wait.. but I will ask in the FB group Im in too, People are very good at helping others with their Spares.

Have an awesome day everyone

Good evening ladies, what a busy few days I've had - but don't ask what I've been doing, all I know is that I never seem to have enough hours in the day. I've been spending quite a bit of time in the garden and I must admit even though I'm not a keen gardener and I find it quite hard work, I am enjoying the improvement in the look of it. It was hard going yesterday and I went for a Thai massage afterwards. Bliss!

I've been on dog feeding duties for a friend/neighbour who is away, so my next door neighbour and friend have been taking it in turns to keep the hounds fed. My friend feeds them in the morning and I've been doing the evening duties. Tonight one of them had vomited on her blanket so I've brought home two blankets and washed them. Hopefully they will be dry and I can take them back tomorrow.Their mum phoned today to see how they are - I think they are pining for her, but I wasn't going to tell her and risk spoiling her few days away.

Still busy making things for the market, next one is Saturday/Sunday. Hope there's lots of customers keen to part with their money.

Hope everyone is well.

Night all.

Good Morning Ladies. Sun out and a very warm day ahead. It was not too hot yesterday so was out in the gardens most of the day. Will have one least garden once it's cleaned up. I will get it turned back into lawn. Going out to water the gardens shortly as we had no rain over the last few days.

What a year! It been.12 months next weekend since Mr S passed away. Where did it go???
We are starting to see the boats and lots of people around the main streets. We still don't have a market for the visitors that come into main shopping area.
Found a piece of long stitch that I brought about 2/4 years ago!! I sat and did some stitching over the weekend and enjoyed it.
Wil it time to move and get that watering done.
Happy Crafting Ladies.

Morning everyone

Makes me feel a little guilty re all the gardening everyone is doing. I have let the bulbs greenery dry off so the next dry spell I will empty them out of the pots and finish drying them off..
Filling the bath has to wait until the clinic appointments have finished cos of the added costs of petrol etc.

I spent most of the day painting yesterday and got quite alot done. Im still not fond of it lol and its not making it any better that Ive run out of a colour, but since I have time Im leaving talking to the seller until Ive finished, incase there are other colours running out.

I have a couple of things to do up the road this morning so had bette get stuff on here done

morning ladies :) aww flick, what a neat daughter you have <3 Our daughter has asked her dad to build her a jewellery box for her birthday. He was so chuffed to be asked.

You could have had some of our rain, sunflowers. We've had so much rain here over the last 24 hours the local bowling green turned into a duck pond.

We were in Rotorua visiting MrK's sisters on Sunday and I came home with more plants. So yesterday in spite of the rain, I was outside planting them. Perfect weather for planting lol. Today I need to tidy up the spring bulbs and there are a few plants that are taking over so just a general weed and sort out. Everything is growing and the roses are looking amazing. I stand in the middle of the lawn and just sniff lol. The bees are working overtime too which is great. The bin man has been so I can start refilling it with convolvulus and other nasties.

Crafting later this afternoon.

Happy knitting :)

So nice that your daughter appreciates hand made things Flick... My friends are used to expecting me to Make their presents.

Have a grumpy one this morning, so Im going to hide into my painting, which oddly he encourages, but I think its so he doesnt feel so guilty about spending all his days on the couch.

A bit of wind here, but its sunny at the mo. Still on the chilly side tho.

morning ladies :) I was expecting the digger this morning but as the job they are working on can't be finished until today thanks to Monday's really bad weather, there is a knock on effect and they are coming tomorrow. I've waited this long, one more day won't matter. It does mean I can't mow the lawn until late in the week though. Easier on the lawn if the grass is a bit longer with heavy machinery. And MrK has asked if they can 'do' in front of the main gate where we park the car while the digger is here and if they have time.

It's meant to rain again today, seems we have one fine day, then rain the next. And it's cold. Wish summer would hurry up.

I have a few things to do inside today if it does rain, otherwise I'll finish the weeding I started yesterday. We will have the sweetest smelling bins lol, deheaded the roses and have half a bin full.

Crafting later, just pottering about until my sewing machine comes home. Feel at a loose end really.

Happy knitting :)

I finished the Indian Chief last night.. Well as far as I can go. Now that Ive finished I will contact the seller and get them to send some more diamonds. but Ill also try and get some here. Im going to start MrP's John Wayne one today.
So far MrP seems to be in a good mood. I make no plans anymore. And I live day by day and I try not to carry my annoyance into another day. Its working so far lol.

Morning ladies,

I have just spent a frustrating few minutes trying to fix my toilet cistern which decided yesterday it was going to take forever to fill after being flushed. Thought I had it sorted last night but I hadn't. I asked my friend next door if her husband could come and have a look as I was reluctant to call a plumber for what I thought would be a five minute job. He kindly turned the water off for me (which is up in the next street where my water meter is) and then after I'd "fixed" it, it would fill but wouldn't stop filling, so he came down and fixed it in a jiffy. Handy to have good neighbours.

Think my car needs new brake discs. My son said he would do it if I go down to him in Auckland but I'll take it to the local garage and see how much it is likely to cost. Don't really fancy driving all the way to Auckland on dodgy brakes.

Knit and natter this morning then I will do some gardening or sewing. See what I feel like doing.

Have fun everyone.

And this will add continuity to the garden and no more ugly corners. *does the happy dance* I'm also having my hair cut today so a very busy day all round.

So there won't be much crafting today, well not the knitting or sewing kind anyway. I have concrete to help move and soil to shift.

Happy knitting :)

Good afternoon lovely ladies, i posted here about a year ago, then life got stupidly busy. I would like to become a regular lol, so here it goes. Im mary-poppins from Napier. I taught myself to crochet last year (very simple baby blankets) and have since made dozens and have started to sell them on facebook. I still love to crochet and try to do a little bit each night, but with working, having a house to run and a 7 year old some days it has to be put aside. I love gardening too, and am slowly getting my gardens up to scratch after moving back to our house after renting it out for 7 years and having a try on a lifestyle block (awesome adventure). I sew a little too - plain basic stuff, but have managed curtains which was awesome.
I have just spent a few days on and off reading this wonderful thread from the beginning and feel like i kind of know you all already. Not sure if the facebook page is still going but would love to be apart of that too if it is lol
Well, coffee break at work is over, so better carry on, but look forward to posting again soon and reading all the awesome updates on everyones crafting, gardens and grandies lol
Have a great afternoon everyone

mary-poppins - 2019-11-21 14:42:00
15424

morning ladies and a big welcome back to mary-poppins :) We're a mixed bunch here and some of us (me) have lost our mojo with knitting so trying new things. I've always been a gardener, it's my happy place where I solve the world's woes. I think the secret is to not limit yourself and be prepared to try new things. I've been branching out to embroidery, I always cross stitched and wanted to try other stitches. If you could only see my mistakes lol but I am improving and there is real satisfaction in that.

The digger came and went and not only dug out my ugly corner but did in front of the main gate where we park the car too. So now we have an awesome spot for the car with lovely fine metal that will drain nicely when it rains.

I have heaps (and I mean heaps lol) of work to do in this corner. So many tree roots need digging out and I found some more concrete buried, arrggghhh!! But I can break that up and put it in the wheelie bins over time (sounds like I'm going round in circles with this damed concrete!)
So quite a bit of prep work to do, lots of digging and raking before I can bring in some top soil and garden mix type soil and plant. I started putting in the edging yesterday but omg it was hot so this is going to be an early morning thing for me. As long as it is reasonably tidied up for Christmas, I don't care how long it takes to be planted. My sister in law has suggested they all bring gardening things on Christmas Day lol (she would too lol).

It feels sooooo good to finally see a plan started 10 years ago come to fruition. A lot of that time was 'battling' with MrK over the damed shrub he liked but I hated. Two of those years has been trying to get the digger in. Either $$$$ were short or our friend was just snowed under with work. The garden has needed so much work, this corner was the 'last bastion' and put off. Sorry about the rant lol, just so happy everything is finally coming together.

We're going to a woodworking thing MrK wants to see and the local rose show is on. (one for him and one for me lol). And I think MrK wants to go
out for lunch too.

happy knitting :)

This is the 'before' pic. When we moved here, there was a massive pile of concrete as tall as me and about a metre wide in front of that big shrub. It's taken me years to move it all.

And after the digger has been. Lots of work to do!

Morning everyone and Welcome Back Mary-Poppins.
Life can get in the way, but Congrats on teaching yourself to crochet, its one of those things you can get "Hooked" on lol.

Im having a siesta from wool related crafts and totally enjoying Diamond painting.

Kiwimade its neat when a plan comes together, no matter how long it takes. And when you think about the changes you have made, with all the work inside the house as well as the garden you have done an amazing amount of work.

I have housework today, I want that done then I might empty the garden pots out over the weekend now that the bulbs have died off.. And the next step is getting potting mix etc for the bath and pots. But Its likly to be a mid summer garden as we still have 2 trips to the super clinic etc.

Arghh I must see where I safely [put some batteries I got a while ago, the clock in the lounge is flat but I keep looking at it lol.. and I knpw its not 5-40 am lol

Good Morning Ladies, Just poped in to say Hi to everyone and welcome Mary -Poppins.I also live in Napier.

Love the before and after photos Kiwimade. You have your work cut out, knowing how much the gardens means to you,you will work away on it over the few weeks/months
Not sure Kiwmade if I will get up to The Waikato this Christmas/New Year. Will let you know if I come up.Enjoy your day out Kiwimade with MrK and lunch....

Have put a few hours aside this w/end to spend in the gardens. It's my happly place.
I've been up and down this week and thinking about this time last year alot. Had a friend's mother passed away this week as well.
Just about finished my last book in Level 3 Computering for the year.. This takes up alot of my hours during the week as I'm surporting a student as well.
I had some great news this week I am going to have some driving lessons,so I can start driving again. Busness friends have looked after our car during the year. Now arranged for me to have some lessons starting next week. It's over a year since I have been behind the wheel of a car.

Off out to Book Art final met for the year on Saturday. Been thinking about going back next year. Have made a few books for gifts during year.

As for my knitting, just have to finish what on my neddles and that it for the year.
Pickup my long stitch and enjoying that at present.Slow going...
Friend is looking out for a sewing machine for me. Just luckly she has a couple at present, so I can do some mending and other sewing.

Popeye pleased to hear you and Mr P are ok. Enjoyed seeing your Diamond painting that you have shared with us. Hope you are able to restock your garden pots.

Will time to move and do some work around the place before heading off to finish some computering this afternoon.

morning ladies :) Up at a sparrows fart (can I say that here lol) this morning as I'm off to Hamilton to pick my sewing machine up and buy the fabric for the cushions. Am glad I waited to buy the fabric as Spotlight have a sale on and I have a $40 off voucher if I spend over $100. I want to scoot over to Hamilton, do what I have to do and get home as MrK is armed with the chainsaw today to prune trees. It's not just having someone home safety wise, it's making sure he's not too heavy handed with the pruning.

We went to Tauranga yesterday and we visited the woodworkers guild's display. Stunning woodwork being done and not just by men too. Gorgeous wooden bowls and other items for sale. MrK is really inspired and spotted some woodworking gear he 'needs'. NOW he understands when I say I 'need' this or that! We had a pub lunch and a bit of shopping.
Didn't get to the local rose show but can do that over the weekend.

Sunflowers, I'm glad you are putting some time aside for yourself. Gardens are great therapy, there is something about having the soil in your hands. And wahooooo with the driving lessons. I'm sure it's a confidence thing and you will be fine once back behind the wheel. And then imagine what you will be able to do!

Crafting later today all going to plan.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Yep Sparrows fart works for me lol

I dont blame you wanting to be there when MrK uses the chainsaw Kiwimade. It reminded me of how MrP and my stapfather pruned trees,,, at ground level generally, so they have to be supervised lol.

Sunflowers I agree with Kiwimade, once you have your confidence back you will be able too ( 70/80s era) Blat around lol..

I did the floor yesterday and once I had swept up the glass of a bowl I broke, I washed it to make sure there werent any little bits I couldnt see..

But Madam decided she liked the wet slippery floor and had a ball running all over it... I told her off countless times, but at one stage she just stopped at looked at me with a look that said, You gonna Make me Stop? lol the baggage. At least she doesnt get dirty feet lol

Painting today as my back is nasty, its been quite good lately, but it needs some cream and a hotty I think and I havent needed to do that since winter..
At least Ill get plenty of John Wayne done lol

Have a fab day everyone... Oh and Yay Kiwimade re the sewing machine

Good Morning Ladies from an overcast grey morning. Yes! we had the shake down here in Napier. I wokeup and went for the door way. That was end of my sleep. I checked my big sideboard which has English Blue and White Willow dinner set in it. So I will most likely have a sleep later today.
Where has the last 12 months gone I ask?
It's 12months since Mr S passed away. RIP my love.

Did about 3 hours in the gardens yesterday afternoon early evening. Just waiting for another bag to be dropped off. So be two bags of weeds etc to be taken away this week. Dead\ headed my climbing dark red rose and cleared away an area that Mr S had as a veggie garden. Will go back into lawn.
Did some baking last night as I am off out to a share lunch today. So no crafting. Will do some later today if don't sleep too long. Ha Ha..

Sounds like you had a lovely day in Tauranga the other day. You be pleased to have your sewing machine back as well. Good luck with the covers Kiwimade.
Time to move.. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone.

Time does fly doesnt it Sunflowers. Tomorrow would have been my sisters youngests 42nd Birthday, but he died in 2007. when we lived in Taranaki I met a lady who we have become close friend. Her brother died the same day and my nephew was born, so we always remember each others anniversary. Its is also the anniversary of an old gentleman who was Waiukus oldest serving Army man. So its a big day or two.

Its very cloudy here, but no rain as yet.

I have to nip up for a rubbish bag today so I can get that and the recycling sorted. Then I will paint inbetween doing other stuff...

Im feeling a little flat so Ill take my time.

Evening ladies, a busy few days for me. ThursdayI went to Whangarei, and spent too much money, but mostly on necessities like food, fabric and plants, plus some yarn. Well you can never have too much yarn can you ??? And 3kg of stuffing for the toys that I make. I also had a voucher for $40 off at spotty if you spent $100. I hadn't intended spending that much but mine totalled $81 so I added another bag of stuffing @ $23 and then the total came to $61. So I was quite pleased with that.

Friday I spent the day sewing and making stitch markers for the market and labelling things I'd already made. Saturday I was up at sparrow fart (which does not agree with me) and went to the market. I made a whole $1 over and above the cost of the stall. Not going to go very far towards my next holiday - but today was a better day. And the bonus was, nobody was using the hall last night so we were able to leave everything set up and just close the blinds and lock the door. Next market is Sunday/Monday.

So this week I have to divide my time between making more stuff for the market and getting stuck into the garden, weeding and planting - if my back will let me.

Right, I had better cook something to eat.

morning ladies :) Another early morning for me, will finish this coffee then head outside and finish digging the garden part of the corner. Our neighbor has kindly offered to take all the concrete I dug up - I couldn't believe how much there was buried. But once it's done, it's done.

Yesterday afternoon I prepared the top piece to the cushion for embroidery. Overlocked the edges and ironed on the picture. I started the padding for the satin stitch but was pretty tired so flaggged it.

The year has gone by quickly hasn't it, sunflowers. Am thinking of you.

That $40 off was great wasn't it, kuaka. I had to buy extra fabric to make the piping as you can't buy it ready made at Spotlight now so having that bit off the price was a real bonus.

Time to move, I love these cool mornings, can get loads done before it gets too hot.

Happy knitting :)

Good morning everyone, Thank you all for the welcome (or re-welcome lol) sunflower - thinking of you at this hard time. Popeye, a friend has bought a diamond painting for my daughter for Christmas - a unicorn no less - so i feel ill be doing most of that as she is 7 :)
Well, i had a great weekend, shot over to Uncle Bills in hastings and bought enough yarn to make another 3 baby blankets (1 is an order for christmas) and also bought some crochet cotton and made my first dishcloth. I love it, looks great and works a treat on the bench and the sink shines with it :) The only problem is its only thin (4ply i think) so bough 2 balls and doubled it up. Have managed to make 2 of them out of the 2 balls (50gram ones) so feeling very chuffed with myself. Did a few rows of another blanket im working on, so hope to get that finished and onto facebook to sell then can buy more yarn.
Did a few hours in the garden also yesterday - hope to plant lobelias and inpatients this weekend so i have awesome colour on Christmas day.
Happy crafting ladies, and i will try and upload some pictures (if i can remember how) I love seeing all of you creations so only fair to show mine :)

They are beautiful Mary-Poppins..

Our day has been medical lol.. I went and saw my gp, and had a jolly good chat about MrP and his parkinsons andpossible dementia.. Cos he is soo suspicious of every one, we are going to organise some memory tests for him, Im going to tell him in a day or two that the Dr wants to use him as a guinea pig cos they are running a programme on dementia etc..

Its the only way we can get him to do it.. And I planted the seed today on our trip up to the Superclinic for him to see the cardiologist. Nothing more they can do for him so Just an annual how are you doing now.

Quite warm today too.

Im hoping to wriggle my nose and something will appear on plates for tea lol.

One month to go.. all my presents are done Bar One, Izzys book bag to make.
And we need to decide what we will have for christmas dinner... I remember when we were kids, we seldom got Chicken so that was always on the Menu with good old Mutton lol.
The only definite is the trifles which I have everything for lol.

morning ladies :) oohh popeye, I hope he listens to you and agrees to the tests. We have two people (married) in our family with what we think is dementia but they see their lives as normal and won't let us help. We're all told we're bullying them and there is nothing wrong when we can clearly see there is lots wrong. As a family, we have to work something out.

mary-poppins, your blankets are lovely :) Do you carry on crocheting over summer or switch to 'summer crafts'? I find using yarn and wool in the summer too hot and sweaty.

I can't do any more to my corner until the concrete has been moved. Then I can order some garden mix and the truck can back right up to it and dump it. We think we'll put some topsoil down first. MrK measured up the garden and we will need around three cubic meters of soil. Which is a lot to move by shovel!

Yesterday was so hot the Furry One even let us drape a wet towel over him and sat spread eagled on the back of the couch under the window. We have water in containers dotted over the section now for him too as well as inside.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Yeah its not easy is it Kiwimade...

I will wait a couple of days before I bring it up again with MrP.. Well after thursday, cos I have to go and do some other bloods, so I will tell MrP I saw our dr in the foyer and she asked me to ask him if he would do it for her... Hate lying but it has to be done.
He was quite down last night.. I wish cardiologists would not symply say, theres nothing else we can do, see you in a year. MrP takes it as a death notice, where I take it as Yay everything is at a normal stage.

Very creaky today lol... but have meds on board... so Ill potter about. Missed a couple of nights knitting and can feel it today... Bodies have alot to answer for lol.

It was hot yesterday, especially out in the car.. But the house was lovely when we got home.. Huge dofference from the previous house thats for sure. MIssy has bowls of water on the two hand basins, easy to remmeber to make sure its fresh every day and when she plays in it with her paw its easily wiped up too lol.

Have a fab day everyone

l have placed water out for all the bird life around me, three sides of my house have bush 10 metres away. l have a pair of wild ducks who chose me as their career and they visit daily but the last week only one at a time so l suspect they are sitting on eggs. They freely walk into the kitchen to check if their are crumbs on the floor. l also have several kiwis that have eggs in their burrow l have been putting out cats meat on the deck and watching them at night, l put in a blue light bulb so l can watch them without scaring them.
Popeye l have got 2 diamond paintings for Violets xmas presents she loves craft so it will give us another activity over the holidays. She is 7 now and still loves her purple blanket and it goes between houses with every sleepover. l am looking forward to xmas this year as l have been on my own the last 4 years.

Good morning everyone, thank you for the lovely comments :)
Kiwimade, yes i do crochet over summer, im super lucky for have 3 weeks off over christmas as the place i work for closes down so i love being able to crochet at my leisure. Last year however, i was only doing small blankets so it wasn't to hot and heavy on my lap - so may change my mind this year haha. I have a few sewing creations on my to do list so might do them too.
Started a blanket last night for a friends daughter. Needs to be approximatly 1m x 1.2 so its going to be a slow process for me :)
A bit overcast here in Napier this morning, but going to be a scorcher tomorrow with 29 forcast, so will get some gardening done after work and hopefully the lawns mowed first thing tomorrow before the heat sets in.
Had the last of my Christmas presents delivered last night (love online shopping) so will wrap them and then Im all ready to put the tree up this weekend.
Happy crafting today everyone, better go and do some invoicing as ive just got to work :)

morning ladies :) omgg huntlygirl, I am so envious of you! Kiwi on your deck! How special is that <3

It's going to be another hot day today so up early to move the concrete bits closer to the gate for our neighbour's bobcat and so I can get a trailer backed up to the garden with top soil. I also need to mow the lawn and hopefully can get that done before the heat kicks in.

My hayfever is working overtime, between all the silage around us, the privet in neighbouring hedges and all the dust from the corner I'm working in, my eyes and nose are miserable. So I'm trying a new antihistamine that the chemist says is molecularly different to others. I am over spending a fortune on antihistamines that don't work for me any more. Fingers crossed this one works.

I've been embroidering the rose to the top piece of the cushion and so far, so good. Am pleased with the results and chuffed with my colour choices.

Coffee is finished, time to move the concrete. I could leave it for the bob cat but I want the soil in the garden and plants in for Christmas.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Oh Huntlygurl that would be soo cool re the Kiwi.. And im glad Violets blanket is travelling with her.

Kiwimade have you tried the antihystamines you can get on prescription?. But yes your sitting in the middle of all the pollen and dust.
On the journey to the superclinic there is a few long areas where they are privet and cabbage trees, so its always a runny end of the trip by the time we get home.

Ohh Sunflowers I never used to like fresh apricots, love them dried, but when Mum moved in she would buy them all the time, so I now love them fresh. I can only imagine what one would be like picked fresh off the tree with the warmth of the sun on it...

Doing MrPs hair this morning, and then If Im pok I will tackle another freezer, the last one we brought is a total mystery to me what is in there. I dont think Ive looked in it since I checked it was running after we moved here.
I revised my bulk shopping list a little last night, cos I want meat, red meat lol. Apprently the christmas club shopping day is Wednesday next week, not Tuesday as Izzys Mum thought. So I will go over and do our normal shopping at the same time.
Will have to use a big trolley, which I havent for years lol I prefer the little half depth ones. They came out not long after I had my heart surgery 13 years ago. I saw some at countdown and asked our Good NW manager if he would get some, and he did.

Argghh somethings blown in, MrP is sneezing his head off and my nose its stinging lol... Going to be one of those Days lol

Have a fab day everyone

morning again ladies :) The new antihistamine seems to be working, I only sneezed once and my eyes aren't as itchy. All the concrete has been moved and I've mowed the lawn as well. I thought I would leave the lawn until this evening but decided I need a shower and that means no lawn until tomorrow. The hose is on the garden and I must top up the birds' water. They love the hose though.

So I'm done and dusted (literally dusted lol) for the outside stuff today. I think I've earned some crafting time :)

Enjoy it Kiwimade, you have more than earnt it.

I have just ruined the next 7 years lol.. Dropped the hand held mirror when I was bringing out the hair cutting gear... oops .. was handy too so Ill keep my eyes out for a new one.

Helped MrP fix his walker, his fingers never have been designed for holding small screws etc, I even tho I knew what I was doing I made sure I asked his advice, it makes him not feel so useless.

Time for a play on here and then some painting

What a day it's been. Friend and I picked7kgs plus of Apricot today. The birds are having a great time. Made jam today and fulled 3 2Lt Ice Cream tubs of cooked apricots.

Hospicea Social Worker coming to see me in the morning and will take a chair back to The Hospice. Mr S used it once he just didn't like it.

Final apointment today and hopeful for the year.Tired of Hospital,Doctors etc,etc apointments.
Set up my craft table the other night and have made 5 BirthdayCards, 12 Christmas Cards and 20 Christmas Tag Cards. Will put the tree up in a couple weeks time. Yes I have baked a Christmas Cake this year and been asked to make my Christmas Ice Cream Pud.

Came back home mid afternoon to see my lawns had been done and leaves etc taken away. Left two bale bags for me to full with garden weeds etc.Someone called and left me 4 lots of veggie plants, 6 lots of flower plants and 6 herb plants.2 Large bags of Garden Mix. Everything is planted. No one called or left a note so I have no idea who left them.
Kiwmade I'm like you out in garden first thing in the morning most days. It's the best time of the day.
Yes Popeye fresh Apricot off the tree is how I like to eat my ones. as well.
Time for me move and hopefully it starts to cool down or I will have to bring in fan for the bedroom its 23c inside and that with windows and doors open.

Morning everyone
Ohh Sunflowers what a lovely day you had. YUmmm green with envy now lol...
I know what you mean about chairs, I got MrP a lifter one last year? he sat in it 3 times... thankfully it came from the recycle centre and was only $15 .. Missy sits on the top of the back, so its getting some use.

Was warm last night, but still nothing like we had, So I havent even started sliding into my summer blah yet.

Meant to be picking up a coffee table I won on here, but have had no reply on emails or texts to set up a time to pick it up. Its also not In Pukekohe as they said, its on the way to Auckland. So If I dont hear before we leave today Im not going to bother.

Well I better get some things done, Im going to go do my other bloods and stop at New World for some cheese. They are Having a Red Thursday instead of a Black Friday so as I needed cheese Ill duck in on my way home, rather than take MrP and get it on our way, cos I reckon it will go fast and I dont want to carry it in the heat.

Have a fab day all
