I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning ladies, a stunning day here too. I did some sewing yesterday and some gardening, mowed one of my lawns too. I did it back to front. Was going to sew till it warmed up, but I fluffed around doing not a lot and then did the gardening. I'm still hacking and chopping my way through the pile of prunings that the muppet cut down and left! Then I did some weeding and mowed one lawn, then I came inside and did some sewing. Plan to do more today. I really do need to get stuck into the garden and get it tidied up, and I'm also trying to make more things for the markets.

I gave up on runner beans when Mr K put up a bean frame on the edge of the raised garden which had a bank dropping away behind it. The wretched beans grew mostly on the side where the bank dropped away and I had to use a step ladder to get to the beans. Plus they blocked our sea view, so we pulled it all down. Now I just grow dwarf beans which I don't like as much, but at least I don't endanger my life when I pick them!

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Awesome work, kuaka. Lawns and gardens get away on us pretty quickly now. And yes, what a muppet, pruning and not taking or clearing away the rubbish.

What a mixed up month weather wise it is, now cloudy and overcast. Yesterday the weather was perfect for spraying the roses. I have lots of new healthy growth so am happy.

The Furry One is already outside on the hunt for the rabbits.

I have a white cotton sheet that was Mum's and never been used. It is just sitting there in the cupboard, never been used. So I've made the executive decision to cut it up for embroidery. It will be perfect, just the right thread count and firm enough for me to make some heavier pieces. So it will be used, just not as Mum intended. Mum kept a lot of linen but never used it and I am slowly working my through my share of it.

We have a lot of family stuff on this week so I'll make a start on an embroidery piece and keep it in my bag for something to do during 'down time'. I'll go through my threads and see what I need to buy, it shouldn't be much as I have most of the colours.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Yes a change to yesterday weather wise Kiwimade.. And I agree the weather this winter / spring has been way more thna "Changable" thats for sure.

Yesterday was pretty much a write off soe me. I did manage to finish the picture I was doing and wasnt happy with it at all. So I contacted "wish" where I got it, showed them photos and I got an instant refund, which showed about 2 hours after contacting them. Ill put a picture up at the end.

So I looked through both Wish and Aliexpress and one just kept popping up. Its another sign and it includes a dog print and I know my friend loves her two huge babies , so I will order it at lunchtime. Even with Delivery I should have plenty of time to get it done.. fingers crossed. So I went back to our birds in the tree one, which is a long term fill in while I wait for others lol.
I called the med centre yesterday about my racing heart, they were going to leave our GP a task and someone would get back to me... Sometimes I wonder about some of them down there, Even I know our dr doesnt work on Mondays lol.
I found my bp and pulse cuff this morning, but I need new batteries, and then Ill be able to keep a track of my pulse, and its very portable that if I wake racing Ill be able to put it on and measure the heart rate and keep a record.

Its meant to read, Family, a little bit crazy, A little bit Loud and a whole lot of Love... very dissapointed

Right I need to get a few things done on here, then I will vacc and finally cut the fruit up for the Marmalade

Have a fab day all

Lol Kiwimade,

I too make "Executive" desicions like that.

My biggest was sending family china down to the lady in CHCH after the big earthquake..
But you know in your heart your mum etc would be fine with your desicion

Morning ladies, I forgot to mention that yesterday when I was clearing all the rubbish that muppet left instead of clearing it himself, I noticed water pouring from the expansion pipe on the roof - hot water of course - so I called a neighbour who is a very good handyman but he said I needed a plumber so within half an hour I had a plumber on the job. He said the housing on the ajax valve had all but disintegrated so he couldn't adjust it, he had to replace it but he also said there was a pipe in the ceiling which was leaking all over the gibboard and if left much longer would have brought a big chunk of ceiling down on top of me. Not something I would have enjoyed one little bit, so he fixed that too. Now I await the account!

Going to mow some more lawns shortly. I only have four little patches, well I did have, one is just a mess now thanks to muppet. I'm not sure whether to put it back into lawn or garden. I'll think about it for a while. It's a real pain to mow but I didn't really want that amount of garden either. Any suggestions welcome.

Right, better press on.

Have an awesome day everyone.

morning ladies :) Omg yes, popeye, I would be disappointed with it too and am glad you got your money back.

Dammm kuaka, but at least the leak was picked up before an even bigger bill would have to be paid! You were lucky to have a plumber there within half an hour too.

I've put the pattern onto the fabric (the cut up sheet works perfectly) but it looks too big on the piece I cut out. I cut the fabric to the size recommended on the pattern but if I want to frame the embroidery when finished, there would be buggar all area for a mat surround. So, I'll cut another piece and use this bit to practice on. A bit of faffing around but worth it in the end.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning ladies. O'dear Kuaka it's not one thing it another. So glad you got it in time.Water pipes can be a problem.
Hope you have better luck with your new picture Popeye.

Talking about packing up someting and sending it away, reminds me when we packed up 10 piece setting Engish Willow dinnerset, plus meat plates, bowls etc to be shipped to England. When collecting our tea chests my heart hit the ground one chest had been dropped. It had a large lamp in it and clothing. Line 7 jackets had gone and other clothes damaged as they tried to nail the top down.
Sun was shining just now it overcast. Busy day ahead, have someome coming to look atthe free standing firebox. Not sure if I will replace it or not at this stage.
Have service to go to this afternoon. A friend's husband pasted away.
So I better move and do some work before someone arrives.

Have a great everyone.

Morning everyone

wow Kuaka Im glad you foound things early too.. I shudder to think what the bill will be. MrPs brother had a house in Cambridge years ago that was rented out. But it was also empty for a few months and the previous tennants hadnt told anyone there was a leak,, the whole floor had to be replaced. He sold it in the end.

Sunflowers fires are nice but alot of work too arent they.. I do miss having one tho, I probably always will.

The money from the refund has cleared so I will order another kit before I get off here.

This new recipe for marmalade from Aunt Daisys book is a long work in progress.. You soak the fruit and skins for 36... yes 36 hours. Then boil it for an hour and a half, Then let it rest again for 12 hours, before finally adding the sugar and boil till it sets lol.. But its smelling devine so Im enjoying that part lol.

Not alot for me to do today, so Im going to work on our picture, after I load the dishwasher.

Have a fab day all, its a bit cooler here this morning

morning ladies :) Looks like I'm back to weekly lawn mowing so will get that done today.

I started the embroidery yesterday and this fabric is hard to stitch on as the weave is so tight. But so far, so good. If it works out then I'll buy the companion design but the instructions are beautifully clear. I still want to do my own thing with some of my photos so that is on the 'to-do' list.

We seem to be down to one rabbit but MrK saw a couple on the road that had been hit by cars. The Furry One spends his day stalking it and we are occasionally blessed by his presence when he is hungry or thirsty.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Have had a little rain overnight I see. Its not cold by any means

Shopping today, and I have quite a list so I think the frames will have to wait a week. And to be honest im not in the mood to be trapsing through shops. Ill look online instead.

I got quite alot of my painting done yesterday and Im starting to see the picture now. Yay.
I bit the bullet and ordered the same picture for a friend but went large its a 50 by 50. but that will probably take 3 weeks at least to get here so ill get alot of work done on our one.

Our lawn was covered in beautiful daisys yesterday until the lawn people came.. I spent alot of time with my sister sitting on the lawn making daisy chains. A fond memory

Right I have a few things to do here

Have a fab day everyone

Morning everyone

Bit if a muddled day, I forgot to get Missys Puree Kisses yesterday so had to nice up and get some, picke dup my pills while I was out.

Tried to come online and the comp wouldnt start, so I put the marmalade on, 4.6 kilos of fruit and the same of sugar.. slowly heating it before I add the sugar.. and now the comp starts lol..

So Im multitasking lol..

Im going to have to get some knitting out, I keep faling asleep while watching tv lol.. so Ill do some booties lol.

I hope everyone is having a fab day..

Morning everyone

Tis a Beautiful day. The washing is on and Im giving up on the clothes line that is here. Ill put the large clothes airer I have at the front door, its a real suntrap there and the fold up line at the ranchslider for the later sun.

The Marmalade was a massive fail.. Ill stick to my normal recipe, $7 of sugardown the drain.. Its a lovely Set, and even tho I havent burnt it to the pot it went from being fine one minute to being very dark. So it will literally be down the drain. If I liked bees Id put it out for them.

From what Ive been hearing I have to deal with the 54 yr old ex friend on FB.. We will have known each other 40 next month, but I finally had enough a few weeks ago and ended the friendship. But apparently shes gone back those 40 years and acting like a teenager having a hissy... Normally I wouldnt do the same thing, but if its the only way to get her to understand then so be it... It could be a part of her early onset dementia, but I dont need her rubbish inteferring in our lives.

Have a fab day, and with weather like this... Enjoy your gardens everyone

Good Morning Ladies A lovely sunny day again today. Off shortly with family to the local famers market.

Re your Marmalade don't put it down your drain if don't want a plumber's bill. Dug a hole pour it in and cover it. Sounds like it was over cooked. Have had Orange Marmalade go dark and it was still lovely to eat. . Never heard about double cooking it.

Busy with family at present and it taken me away.
Watched the opening and the game while I sorted out wool. Going to use up leftover yarns from other projects. It be a on going project.
Time to move and hang out the washing since it's fine and warm.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
Happy Crafting and have a great day.

I poured it through a very fine colander Sunflowers, Such a waste... but I have lots of fruit etc that I can turn into money..
Izzys mum has made heaps of lemon honey and passionfruit curd. Once she has sold out of the passionfruit curd I will have a go at it myself.. She has used all we gave her but I have a good stash.

The cothes are all being baked in the sun lol... Its such a beautiful day, weary bones and all Im loving it lol.

popeye333 - 2019-09-21 13:25:00
15215

morning ladies :) dammm about your marmalade, popeye. Jam and marmalade 'turn' very quickly so it's not something you can just leave cooking. I test it often during cooking with a very cold plate (put in fridge-freezer) and a small drip or two. If it wrinkles, then it's ready even if it hasn't cooked for as long as the recipe says or even if I have to cook it longer. Also, lots of small batches rather than one big one as it is easier to manage.

MrK is home from his sisters. He's been staying with them for almost a week as one of his sisters started chemo this week. It's been a tough week but he managed to do lots in their garden (under another sister's supervision lol) and was their driver to and fro. His other sister is on crutches for a bit so can't drive.

The Fluffy One comes back today for a couple of weeks while my sister is away. So our boy will be happy. And that damed rabbit is just getting fatter on the vegie garden so they both better up their games.

I have heaps of plants to plant today as my sister-in-law kindly shared some of her garden with me. Some real little treasures and plants I have admired in her garden for a while now. Must be a gardening thing, I love sharing what's in our garden too. So now to make room for them lol.

My embroidery is coming along, there is a lot of unseen work like padding in it so it takes a while to do. And I like my satin stitch to look smooth so a bit of unpicking has been done.

Better move, MrK has bought home a bit of dirty laundry and the machine has finished it's first load. Lucky it's going to be another stunning day.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Thats the annoying part Kiwimade, I was checking alot... Ohh well just goes to show, stick with the recipe you know lol..
I got heaps of stuff done yesterday, including washing drying outside for a change.
I have one load out and the next wont be too far away either. Ive stripped my bed, and have another load to do.
Its a bit cloudy but the sun comes out every so often. but it will have all day to dry, I think.
I want to make a couple of changes in the kitchen pantry today, I managed to get another maggi packet holder so I will fit that in somewhere.
And I have washing to fold.

I got my crochet out last night and redesigned a blanket for a cot. its about a meter square which Im hoping will be about right. Cos I keep falling asleep in front of tv at night. so that should help lol.

Right the sooner I get the lappy done the better I can get other sruff done.

Have a wonderful day all

Its nice having Time out and being helpful eh..

morning ladies :) That's awesome flick, nice to be out and about and doing stuff isn't it.

The new plants are in and some I wasn't happy with are out. I have a huge mound of mondo grass (another one... sigh) I will dig out and another garden which has gone a little wild to with self seeding plants to 'do'. So always something to do outside.

The Fluffy One has made herself at home as she does. As her 'mum' went through the gate to go home, she plonked herself on the ground and looked at her as if to say, well, I'm not going lol. So I guess she loves it here lol.

I have our granddaughter's birthday pressie to post today, meant to do it yesterday but the weather was just too good not to get things done in the garden. Will post my voting papers too while in town.

I bought some grey fabric to restart my embroidery on and am much happier with it. Quilting fabric also makes great embroidery fabric.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
The Fluffy one is very lucky to have a fab place to "Holiday" at Kiwimade and bet the Furry one is loving it too.. She has spent alot of time with you this year.

Its been soo nice to have washing out in the breeze and Roly in the sun etc. But no open ranch slider this morning, I reckon the rain will arrive sooner than they said.

I didnt get as far as the pantry yesterday, and we are having visitors this morning, so it can wait until tomorrow.. Its fairly orderly butI like it well organised. And I have plenty of tupperware to cater for it too. I love doing my pantry lol.

I crochet 3 squares last night and by the time Id got to the end of the first one I had the red rash on my arms above my wrists again.. And I havent had it since I was knitting last. so its confirmed to me, that its something in the wool.
Taking MrP to the drs later. and Ill mention it to her once MrP is finished cos we have been trying to figure out what it was.

Right, Things to do

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Just had a phone call from our granddaughter to announce, today I am six! Can't believe six years have gone by already.

It's raining today and we are supposed to get thunder too. The Furry One hates thunder and barks at it. I had to p ick up some more medication for his epilepsy yesterday and we worked out the cost of each pill... $1.16 each. No wonder the vet referred to them as the 'golden drug'.

I've got a few things to finish off inside so today will be a good day to do that. If the weather does clear up I'll attack that mondo grass again. It's going to take a while.

Will pick my embroidery up later, am finally up to where I stopped on the other piece of fabric.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wow time has flown Kiwimade, and it also means the little one born about a month later is nearly 6 too. and she has a couple of younger sisters now too.

I was sitting on the floor by the pantry when Izzy and her Mum arrived yesterday, but I was just finished , so I got that done. it wasnt bad but I just needed to tidy things up a little. Quite surprised, Im using 40 tupperware containers for baking and cereal containers.. but there are plenty of emoty ones in behind too. Cos the shelves are soo deep, if I dont have something behind them they move beyond reach, without having to stand on the bottom shelf to reach in lol. And I know there is still a box of tupperware in the garage. I sold tupperware years ago and stocked up, plus I like the retro square rounds so have a good collection of those too.

Had MrP at the drs late yesterday, he has an infection so is on antibiotics. And I told her about my arms.. And it only took an hour for it to flare up again.. Im working with acrylic, I shudder to think what Ill be like with wool.
I have been collecting crepe wool for years, I want to make a multi coloured blanket one day... I really hope it doesnt affect me in the same way.

Raining and windy here, its brought the pollen down, I have a stinker of a headache.
Off to load the dishwasher soon ( am loving the freedom of having it, now) and then Im going into my happy place to organise the diamond painting gear.

Have a fab day everyone... A good day for craft

popeye333 - 2019-09-24 09:08:00
15223

Morning ladies, well the forecast was right for once and we have rain, so it's just as well I planted my lettuce seedlings yesterday along with one zucchini (yellow) and an orange capsicum which I bought last week. I suppose I should grow things from seed but to be honest I can't be bothered. As it is I end up giving away half the stuff I grow, luckily my friends like spinach and silverbeet, especially when it's freshly picked.

I have almost finished clearing away all the tree prunings that the muppet left for me to deal with, but I did manage to tread on the rake which promptly whacked me on the side of the head, where I now have a small bump, no doubt a bruise and it is very tender to touch. Luckily it's under my hair so I don't look as though I've been mugged. I did mutter a few choice words to myself and told myself to be more careful in future.

Finally managed to sell a window that Mr K bought years ago to close in the little upstairs deck. I sold one back in the summer, it went within half an hour of me listing it on fb, but nobody seemed interested in this one, but it's finally gone. One less thing cluttering up the outside, and a few more $$$ in my pocket, so all good. I'm also slowly getting rid of kitchen appliances that I don't need. We had a good stock of things in the galley on the boat, which all got brought home, so I've got two of lots of things. (And there is still quite a few things on the boat for a prospective buyer).

Going to start going through my fabric and yarn stash and cull some of it too. I have more than enough to last the rest of my lifetime and beyond. So thinking ahead to if I ever downsize to a smaller home, I just won't have the storage for all the stuff I have now so I need to get on to it.

Just crocheted a really cute owl. I'll put up a pic of it later.

Have an awesome day everyone.

Oh forgot to say that on Saturday I went with some members of the club to a tavern not too far away for a "pool" challenge. Seeing as I'm not very good at snooker and useless at pool having only played about 5 games, I was thrilled to bits to win my first game. We had a really good time, the opposition were all friendly and good fun, and put on a lovely feed for us. We lost the singles but won the doubles. They are planning to visit us soon for a re-match.

morning ladies :) Looks like we are through the worst of the storms, we had some real doozys yesterday.

I have Yin Yoga this morning, couldn't go last week as I was in Tauranga while MrK was in Rotorua supporting his sister through her first dose of chemo. So looking forward to it this morning, especially as it will be the last class for two weeks while the school holidays are on.

This embroidery is slow going but it's not a race to finish. There's lots of padding under the satin stitch and lots of unpicking. But I'm happy with it so far, it's not perfect but looks good from a distance and without my glasses on lol. And I'm gaining confidence. I should take a pic and post it.

That's a shame about the wool, popeye. Maybe it's the brand of yarn?

It's a good feeling isn't it kuaka, when you start decluttering and end up with $$$ in your pocket. I've been ruthless too over the last few weeks. Our home just isn't big enough for clutter so I need to keep on top of it all.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wow we had it all last night including an impresses hail storm.. Missy wasnt keen on that, she was on my lap and she looked at me as if to say What the heck and is it ok Mummy lol.. But she didnt run or anything.. I guess she feels totally safe when shes near or on me. Wet and windy still.. I have to go out in it later.
I got nearly all the craft room done yesterday. I just have a box and clothes basket to go through. And I have 3 large sets of plastic drawers of stuff I seldom touch so Ill condense, hopefully to one, and add things to my TM or FB list.
Hard to believe we are only 12 weeks from Christmas.. And I have a large painting to get done before then, when it arrives which will probably be another 2-3 weeks. But Im pretty sure Ill get it done..And framed.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. It's can't make its mind up weather wise this morning. Overcast ,windy and then sunshine. The wind very cold and just heard there snow on the hills just out of town.
Did a load of washing yesterday and dry when I came back from the gym class.
Been stitching a piece of felting the last couple of nights into a glass case. Was piece I did sometime ago. Once it's warmer I will get the gear our and start felting again.
Talking of decluttering I take some towels to the vets the other day.I need to have a look at my fabric. Maded a couple of bags on my friend's machine and enjoyed making them. Birthday presents.Need to have a good look around for a machine.

Love your owl Kuaku. I can see you making more for the market.
I'm a bite like you Popeye not wanting to do the shopping today in this windy weather.Hope the rash on your arms are healing.
Time for me to make a move. It's not very warm up here in the office. I just may light the fire. It's ready to go.
Have a great day.Happy crafting

Morning ladies, very cold wind here, and sunny at times, with showers. Awesome - not!

Just put a carrot cake in the oven for a friends birthday cake, she's 50 today and a group of us are going to the Thai/Indian restaurant tonight to help her celebrate. Always have a nice meal there, and I won't have to cook tonight so that's good.

Working at the op shop this afternoon - not looking forward to it as it's usually freezing in there. They said when we first moved that they were going to get some heaters, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm pretty much over the op shop to be honest, too much politics, people thinking they run the place when they don't and a bit too fond of giving out orders or making sarcastic remarks.

Shower and then I will do a little sewing while the cake cooks, and I will ice it when I come home from the shop.

Have an awesome day everyone.

So glad to be home in the warm. I wore a jacket I knitted several years ago, that I seldom wear unless its very cold. And it was needed.. Im turning intoa Jaffa softie lol.
Got a little bit of meat, mainly chicken and some hoki, and a couple of yummy pork chops.. I wish the government would do something about the price of red meat, it would counteract all the aneamic people who cant afford to buy it.
Time for a short play on here and then some painting

afternoon ladies :) I love your owl, kuaka, so cute!

It's a blustery day here today but I did get the edges all trimmed around the lawn and two gardens weeded. The plan was to mow this afternoon but it's freezing out there.

I have run out of white thread for my embroidery, I thought I had enough but have been unpicking a lot so used more than I thought. Can't get any now until I visit Spotlight when in Hamilton next week. Here's a photo of what I'm working on, there's a bit of puckering at the bottom so will have to deal with that but overall, for a first attempt, I'm pleased with it. And I am really chuffed with the holes I embroidered around, was worth the $$$ buying an awl.

Happy knitting :)

Soo cool Kiwimade.. mygoodness we have some talented people in pur little huddle.
I dont blame you not wanting to be out in this wind. I havent ventured out since we came home.
Ive been trying to firgure out how to change my bedroom a little. one of the verticle blands kepps faling down and its behind a tall bookcase. And Ive come to the conclusion that I have to take the books off and move things around, to see how they work. Cos I want to use the corner ofthe room. Might do it on the weekend tho. Depending on how long it takes to trim MrPs beard, ( Wish he would shave it off lol ), it may get moved tomorrow.

Morning everyone
Another blustery day out there, I have to pop up to the super value for some drinks for MrP, I discovered they have a bigger range of flavours in their 99% sugar free $1 drinks.
Have to do the whiskers today and then depending on the bones, cos theyre not good, I want to start changing my room around. I have tall but fairly narrow book cases on each end of one set of windows, and on one end one of the verticle blinds keeps falling down, and it makes it really hard to get it back on. It may not happen until tomorrow but thats the plan.

I didnt crochet last night and yep I kept nodding off lol... Was in bed before0 9-30 and sound asleep in minutes lol. Hence the aches today lol.

Stay warm and cosy everyone, have a fab day

morning ladies :) Lawns mowed, tree prunnings dealt with, washing and dishes done so all in all a good morning's effort. All done in between the showers.

MrK has gone to the library so I have a few minutes to myself. I've asked him to book the Rug Doctor for us so I can clean the carpet. I try and clean it twice a year as it's a soft fawn colour and every stain shows.

I've started to have a tutu with a photo I took of a waxeye, hopefully my stitching can do it some justice. Just a fill in until I can get more white thread for my cat picture.

Happy knitting :)

Well done on missing the rain Kiwimade.. I managed to get out and back without getting wet too.
Have trimmed MrPs beard, and swapped the furniture around on my bedroom and now I can reach the blinds very easily.. I just have a narrow bookcase to put in place in the craft room. I have a stack of 3 boxes between a cabinet and the scotch chest, goodness knows what is in them but thats the job tomorrow, to sort through and put things on the shelves rather than in boxes.
Lunch now and then painting later

Good Morning Ladies Had a lovely day out with a wonderful group of ladies. yesterday. Weather was warm and sunny, just like today.
Got a couple indoor jobs ticked off this morning and now time to move outside and tidyup the yard and driveway.

Fingers crossed that I can tidyup my craftroom and have a play around with some wool my felting gear is callling out to me. If been sometime since I have done any felting.

Hope you are able to sort out your boxes Popeye. I have moved things around at times and it's a good feeling as well.
It's busy time for us that like to get into our gardens to cleanup and plant flower and veggie plants.Just think that you will be able to cut dig up fresh veggies and herbs. Cut flowers and bring them inside.

Hope you are all ok and have a play around with your crafting.
Enjoy your day.

Morning everyone
Ive always loved changing rooms around,Im sure it used to annoy mum when I was a kid, but at least the room was tidy once finished lol.
Had another thought late last night too, Im going to move the pretty much redundant bookcase left in my room to the spare room, and move my rocking chair to under the window, and put a small white bedside cabinet beside it, with a pretty table cloth, a lamp and some books on it, next to the chair.
But the craft room will be done first. Im creaky but its always good when you have done something fun to get that way lol.. And Im a bit of a bugger for punishment lol.
Ive been writing the times that I paint down and Im about halfway and have done 5 minutes off 39 hours.

I admit to not knowing much about felting but if I didnt already have so many crafts to do, that would be something I could get into.

Its Izzys siblings Ag Day at school today, so I hope the weather stays fine. Big clouds have passed over but its dry so far, so I hope it stays fine for them.. And the parents get involved too, her Mum has entered into the jams and preserves sections and in past years the Dads have made cakes etc. Which I think is a cool thing to do.

Have a fab day everyone...

morning ladies :) Bathroom etc all done and paper rubbish burned. After my cuppa I'm heading out to 'redo' a garden. Never been happy with it and I've put it off for too long.

Yesterday an outdoor table finally collapsed so today MrK is fixing it. It's been on his 'to-do' list for years. I love this table, has heavy cast iron legs and slats for the top. He's replacing the rotten pine slats with some rimu slats he has had stashed away for a while with this table in mind. There's a seat that goes with it so he'll do that as well eventually too. He's having to grind the old bolts to get them off and it needs a good scrubbing with a wire brush (suspect that bit will be my job). Then we'll spray paint the legs satin black and leave the rimu oiled. The table and seat used to be Mum and Dad's and they gave it too us when it wasn't being used by them any more. And it will be good to have it done for Christmas as we are hosting Christmas this year and usually have it outside.

Cuppa's finished, better move. I have some pots that need filling too... might mean a trip to the garden centre.

Happy knitting :)

Hi everyone...sorry I haven't been on here in a while ive been rather lost without my mum and so heart broken. My days are lonely when hubby is at work, I try keep myself busy doing craft then I feel sad coz mum would have been watching my creations and giving lots of praise. I have attended mums craft group a couple times felt a bit strange tho but I gave two of mums lovely friends a couple of necklaces mum used too wear. Im keeping in touch with them. Mums funeral was absolutely amazing we farewelled mum in the style she deserved, we had the bag pipes playing the flower of
Scotland and amazing grace. Mums 6 grandsons carried her in and 6 granddaughters carried her out. We had a lot of people say to us it was the most emotional funeral they had been too. For a lady of 86 years the chapel was chocka, people had to stand. Mum was all about family and I was so proud of my children some of them spoke at was so emotional, the photos were wonderful, my sister and I did everything mum wanted right down to the music, roses placed on her coffin and the songs she wanted. My husband has been a great support to me I couldn't be without him. We had my dads ashes lifted last week and we have both mum and dad at home together again after being apart for 32 years, my dad died when he was 51. Next year we all will take a road trip to Moeraki and scatter them to the sea I hope you all didn't mind me posting all this.
I hope you are all well
Take care
Thankyou for reading and letting me post about my beautiful mum.

morning ladies :) awww 10ofus, your Mum's farewell sounds beautiful. It takes time though but things are never really the same. Just know she will be watching and encouraging you.

Yesterday I dug over the garden I am redoing and pulled out pretty much most of it. I left the gorgeous salvias, the Christmas lilies and a huge Silver Spears which I like for it's form and shape. Now to buy a trailer load of soil to top up the garden and MrK's vegie boxes so we can start planting.

The little waxeye I am stitching is coming together, lots of unpicking lol but that's what you get when you are learning. MrK just shakes his head when he sees the unpicker come out. Thank goodness I have a good quality unpicker that's easy on the hands.

Coffee finished, better move. Daylight saving has mucked me up this morning but at least now we're heading into summer.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Ohh 10ofus it sounds like you did you Mum Proud. She will be watching over you. You may smell her perfume, or hear her voice , she will let you know she is there. I also think its lovely that you have them both at home together again.

I am creaky but I have a light day planned.I have towels to hang out but they may end up on the airer, we dont have sun at the mo. I need to bite the bullet and get the dryer seen to. I will vacuum, and empty the dishwasher and then Im going to paint and let the body rest. Seriously thinking I need a thin down of some of my soft toys, the only problem being thay all have a meaning as to why I have them, So Ill put it on the back burner in my head for now.

Have an awesome day everyone,,

morning ladies :) We're supposed to have thunderstorms and heavy rain today but will wait and see.

I've weeded one garden and even though I only weeded it a week ago, have three reasonably sized piles to go in the bin when the bin is emptied tomorrow. So hopefully, I have caught most of them before they seed.

There's a cuckoo in the area, we can hear it singing every so often. It has quite a high pitched song. And our blackbird is busy gathering worms so must have a nest somewhere in one of our trees. Must watch to see where he goes so I know not to disturb that part of the garden too much.

Four more sleeps with the Fluffy One before she goes home. I'm not sure if she misses her 'mum' or not. I think she is here so often she thinks of here as home.

Still working away on my waxeye, for a small bird there's a lot of stitching and quite a few colours. Will get to Spotlight this week for more white thread so I can finish my cat but this wee piece makes a good filler.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
We have plenmty of rain and its dark lol.. great start to the school holidays Not lol
Our Izzy had a wee accident yesterday, she was riding a scooter down their driveway which is quite steep and ended up flat on her face. She has grazes and was quite puffy last night. Will check on her soon.

We have one evergreen tree just on the other side of our back fence, we are calling it the Apartment block cos there are several birds going in with food, we cant see the nests from inside but we wont disturb them just for our curiosity either Kiwimade.
I painted for most of the day yesterday and got quite alot done. Ill take a photo later of the progress. Im hoping it will ony be a couple of weeks for the other one to arrive so I can get onto it straight away.
2 or 3 sqaures left to do , before I can join up the blanket, although I might knit some booties for a wee while too. The blanket is not needed yet so it wont hurt to sit for a while.

Have a fab day everyone. Stay dry and warm

Morning everyone
Another wet day but no wind at the mo. Not good for Izzy and the whole family for shopping today thats for sure. Their Mum usually takes them to the park to let off some steam, but that wont happen today .

My work in Progress, and I took that before I worked on it yesterday.. This is the one that kept coming up every time I looked at kits. So I beleive we were meant to have it. Its 40 by 50 cms and has great features to it.

I finished the squares last night, so that can go on hold now and Ill do some booties for a while..

Ive been thinking about afghans, but not sure Im in the right place to bake today. We will see and if I do Ill make MrP some shortbread, he hasnt had any for ages.

Stay warm and dry everyone

Morning everyone
Wow Sunflowers you have certainly had it all in one day.

Its overcast here and windy and quite chilly with it too.. Typical school holiday weather, it will fine up for the last weekend before they go back I reckon.lol.

Expecting ours lawns to be done this week too, its like a carpet of daisys out there at the mo, rather pretty And it reminds me of sitting on the lawn with my sister making daisy chains, now thats a long time ago cos she left home at 18, so I was 9 lol 45 years ago lol..

MrP is still in bed, brainy I think considering the temperature, but I cant lay down for much longer than a normal sleep.

I knitted a pair of booties last night. Madam thought she might play with the needles, she hasnt done that in ages, but then I guess the break might have meant she "forgot" shes not allowed to touch them lol

I have some big pots etc to do, but I wont do those until MrP is up, so Ill play on here a little and then paint. Amd certainly getting through it at the mo.

Stay warm and dry everyone
