#Post

Morning everyone
Another beautiful day here... Our 28th wedding anniversary to the day as well. And Im just too sore to go up to the Daffodil Day stalls and get a bear.

I dont "get" my body. Our house is on a concrete base, but the day after walking in shops on shopping day My bones ache like heck..

I put my rings in yesterday and they will be back next friday.. Yayay an anniversary present to myself lol...So I will delay shopping a day and save making a trip.

One of my friends in Tauranga is moving house, so they went to the briscoes sale and got a huge pot set, a china, glasses and cutlery set and a utensil set all for less that the price of the pot set.. Thyve always made do, so I said good on them. Having matching things always make me feel happier. So they will stay boxed until they move in a couple of weeks.

Im going to start my second mandala. Its only a partail but it has all the prettu metalic diamonds on it... My storage containers have hit the country so hopefully they might get here tomorrow or early next week.

We have proper wool blankets both from MrPs mum, they are singles, and from my parents.. The singles will be the oldest. but the ones from my parents are 41 years old and are also massive. They are heaps thinner than the singles tho.

Have a fab day all

afternoon ladies and happy belated wedding anniversary, popeye. It's a stunning day here today, too good to be inside so we were both out in the garden. Weeding done, edges cut, tree pruned, all good to go for mowing the lawn later.

Nothing on my needles at the moment but I have an embroidery piece sorted and will start that later. Just a small picture of fuchsias for a tray cloth. It's from that book you sent me, popeye.

happy knitting :)

Good morning everyone

Another beautiful day out there. The lawns are growing a bit faster these days.. lots of daisys.. and I can finally see the odd bud on the bluebells.

Only a couple of things to do today, but Im also going to try a cleaner I got a while ago, Called barmans friend,, its meant to work on shower doors, so Ill give it a shot. Izzys Mum got it off here for us.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the lovely days

Kuaka are you still Celebrating your Birthday? MIA ? lol

Evening ladies - no, I'm not MIA nor am I still celebrating my birthday. I've had a busy time since my birthday with a market the following day and my son visiting for a few days.

He did a few jobs for me that "you know who" started but didn't finish, and whilst cutting down my plum trees which I started, he got something down his thumb nail on Tuesday and by Thursday morning when he went home he said it was throbbing like crazy. Went to A&E where it was x-rayed and they said there was nothing in it, and gave him antibiotics, this morning he sent me a pic of it and I told him to get straight to the doc or hospital. He went to the doc who sent him straight to hospital, where he was admitted. They have cut and drained it and they're testing the puss. Sounds horrible. He's in at least tonight, possibly longer.

Anyway I came down to Papamoa on Thursday to stay with my friend - the same friend who I was staying with in Whangarei when we got stung by the wasps - probably go home on Friday. Weather is lovely here and we have been getting out and about, snapping up bargains at the op shops (including some wool - which will probably languish in the stash) - and fabric which I also don't need but couldn't resist. Oh dear.

And to top it all off, I typed all this up earlier and then the internet went "poof" and I lost it all. Grrrr!

Hope everyone is well and busy crafting (I haven't read all the messages since I last checked).

Night all.

Good Morning Ladies. Not so warm here as yesterday.Finished a scarf last night. Will block it and put picture later in the week.
Spend an hour yesterday picking up more glass off the lawns and gardens from next door party. So over this. Police where called and I was told have you got family or friends that I could stay with. I told them no way was leaving my house while they have a 24 hour plus party. Just so over it. Have a meeting this morning with others in the street. Everyone so over it.
Have some paper work to catchup on as well and pay some accounts as well.
My loom is in need of a clean and also been asked if I will felt a bag for a present. Will cheekout what I have left of fibre and colurs. Sometime now since I have felted. Did some needle felting, but not wet felting.

Hope your son comes right. He in the best place Kuaka. Enjoy your break with your friend before you get to busy with the markets.
Geat pictures Popeye. Just hope they like their presents. You get back into your sewing and knitting.
Have better move as I want to do a couple of jobs inside before I head off out.
Have a great day everyone!
Enjoy doing something for yourself

Morning everyone

Its Izzys shopping day today and of course its raining.. Must be the fourth week in a row now I think.

Oh wow Kuaka, not good re your sons thumb, hope it comes right for him. Must be bloody saw and has probably bashed it a few times for his trouble too.. Murphys law of course.

Im going to do a bit of a tidy up today, we have our first ever inspection next week. I have no idea how spotless they expect it to be, but I do know it wont ever be as bad as it was when we moved in. Perisstance has paid off and Ive finally got the toilets looking decent now. They were bad. So Ill do the rooms we dont use alot and they wont need doing again before they come.

My storage containers arrived late yesterday so Ill transfer the diamonds of the pic Im doing at the mo, into those. You waste far too much time trying to open little zip lock bags without breaking them.. so time spent putting them into the containers will save more time when using.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. I can hear the rain as I post here this morning. Parts of Southern Hawkes Bay will be very happy to see the rain. Yes it's dry down there. Are we in for a long dry hot Summer?

Safe trip home Kuaka. Hope your son is on the mend.

Hope you was able to sort out the diamonds for your pictures Popeye. I'm sure they will be happy with you when they come to do the house inspection. Heard the party house next door have to put some time into cleaning up the section.
There is talk about have a Arts and Craft Marklet for when the ships start coming in to Napier this season. We will sit and see. LOL.
Time to move as I have a couple appointments today and need to do a couple of jobs inside before I head out.
Finally have my weaving loom ready to wrap up. Just going to try out some weaving patterns.
Have a great day everyone'
Happy crafting.

morning ladies :) Good heavens, kuaka, your son must have been in agony. Hopefully they can sort out what caused it. Drive safe from Papamoa, the roads will be slippery with this rain.

Sunflowers, we had nieghbours like that when we lived in town. At 3.00am I phoned their landlord and held the phone out for him to hear. He was not a happy chappy and by 8.00am they had an eviction notice. We were fed up with parties all the time too. They 'visited' me (while husband was at work and I was home with small kids) and threatened me but our Labrador saw them off the property. I had never seen her so protective of us before. Loved that dog.

Spring clean time, I've done one room from ceiling to floor, now to move onto the next room. Yoga this morning too and while in town I'll take the old woolen blankets to the vet and book the Furry One in for his annual checkup. Handy the vet is next door to the gym. I have a coupl eof things for the op shop too.

Still tinkering away with this embroidery cloth.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wet but sunny here today.

We had neighbours that partied all the time too.. I lost count of how many times we called noise control, and of how many stereos they had taken away..But Oddly they grew out of it and only had one or two a year and they came and warned us.. They ended up being one of our Biggest protectors in town. God help anyone who thought they could pull one over on us cos theyoung ones made sure the fools didnt step out of line, including MrPs youngest Son, he was one of the worst.

Im off to the drs today, need my scripts and its cheaper to see her than it is to order one.

Ticking things off my cleaning list.. nothing is in a mess but since its our first inspection I just want to make sure it all good.

OMG I never noticed all the cobwebs around the front door etc.. what a mess so Im attacking those before Tuesday too.. I dont mind them but they make the house look like no one but them live here, talking outside not in.

Sorted my diamonds yesterday into the containers so Ill be painting again this afternoon.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Another room down, laundry and loo to do today.

Next week is Dad's anniversary, the year has gone by so fast.

Last night I had a hissy fit with MrK, silly I know, but I was really cheesed off with him. He has made a box to put his modelling tools in, no biggie and a good idea. But he decided it could 'live' in my craft cupboard and shuffled my things around to make it fit. Then told me this was where he was keeping it. Umm... no. My cupboard is the only space I have for my craft stuff and space is limited. He has the whole garage (can't get the car in) and sheds around the property. Back off from my space! If he had asked, not told me, maybe, just maybe, I would have found room for it. It was more the way he went about it that pi**** me off. So after telling him it was 'fine' in a snotty voice, (come on guys, you know when we say that, it isn't! that is just a warning before we explode!) I stomped around and made a cuppa. Then told him what I thought. And yes, he moved it. Silly maybe, and I could have handled it better but just lately he's been making decisions for both of us without discussion and this was the final straw.

Anyhoo, I'm off to clean the laundry.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Ohh Kiwimade it was the same here yesterday. First MrP complained cos his seat in the car doesnt lift like mine... and hes not happy, if he had known he wouldnt have wanted it... Im like how many passenger seats lift. ?
Then we went to the drs cos I had some heart stuff happening, racing when at rest etc.. And it was racing while I was there, so Ive done bloods etc.. we get home and MrP says, you didnt tell the dr about my bowel cancer results.. Im like What??? So I stared at him and said UMMM cos it was My appointment and you could have brought it up. Then he bitched about me Not asking our grandies mum if the eldest boy who is at the Ski fields for a camp , where the earthquakes were having a jolly old time, he wanted to know if Hunter had eaten his trout he caught.. I said really she is talking to Hunter and you want to know that and get shitty when I dont ask... He doesnt know how close to getting a real ear bashing that he deserved.
But on the happy front, the jewellers rang yesterday and my rings are back, So we are shopping as normal today. Yay,, and even more special to me cos I did it myself..

I packed the books up a couple of days ago and spread some of my cookbooks oout so Im not missing the kids books lol.

Further to the drs visit, Ive strained my hamstrings lol.. Yeah Me the no exercise person lol... So I ahve some exercises to do tp get them working better.. And I realised last night, I havent had my oil caps for a few weeks,, which is why the bones are grinding, so Ill get some today, cos Im not going to be hunting through boxes to find the ones I have lol..

Well thats me for the day... Sorry to the ladies who sadlt dont hav their men to grumble about, and Im sure one day I will regret not having someone to grumble about, but it feels alot better for having said so.

Have a fab day ladies

Good Morning everyone. Raining here since last yesterday Yes! I did feel the shake and what came out of my mouth was not lady like...I have never liked them.
Went out yesterday for lunch and a catchup with a family friends. They asked if I would go back and live in England? This subject has been sometime on my mind. Can't answer it at present.
Yes, It does you good to have a grumb everynow and then with your better half. Please don't say sorry. We all need at sometime to let it off our chest as my mum would say.
I have raised my eyes a number of times when things have gone wrong or what do I do. Yes! I have been hang out to dry by some family members and friends. That hard! Mainly because I cannot answers their questions about what I'm going to do..

I had a look at some patterns last night as I don't have anything on my neddles at present. Sown the ends in on my scarf now just have to block it.

Once this rain stops and gardens dry out abite I will get some plants. Lost my herbs, so will plant maybe into pots. Veggie garden will be planted with Summer vegies.
Time to get my a into gear and start my Spring Cleaning this week.
Have a fab day Everyone.

time for a cuppa :D laundry cleaned from top to toe, omgg the dust! Was quite embarrassed by it and so pleased it was just me and MrK who saw it lol. It was mainly from behind the washing machine and a cupboard. Next is the porch and entranceway. Tomorrow, the hallway and living room and dining room.

Sunflowers, that's a huge decision to make about relocating back to England.

Time to move again :D

Morning everyone
Wow what a wild night we had.. The power went off, oddly it woke me being soo dark, it flickered on for about 30 secones and went out again. I havent looked at fb yet to see what people are saying about it.

Ohh my rings are soo pretty, it doesnt take much to make me feel happy. Ive only had one ring on there for a while and my hands are already going puffy from the warmth so they look like they are too small, but it will even out. The young lady that served me with my rings said to me that she loved the style soo much she took a photo... which is cool to me

That is a big desicion Sunflowers.. Ive always thought when Mrp goes I would like to Vanish.. Move to a new town where I dont know anyone. Join some groups and start fresh.. but now we have our grandie and her family so that makes it hard.

Im creaky as today but I want to do some Evictions today, the front porch / door area is Covered in Cobwebs.. I told them to pay their share of rent or they would be out today lol. And Ill wash the cupboard fronts in the kitchen, just to freshen them up a bit.

Just ordered our replacement parking permit for MrP.. Ours was lost or stolen in March when we had the car in for a warrant, found out that cos it still had time on it, we didnt need the forms again, and we were able to redo it for 5 years for $50 instead of 1 year for $25... You dont realise how handy it is until you have to start parking further away.

Right I had better rattle me daggs and get some stuff done. Have a fab day everyone

Good Moring . Overcast and raining on and off here in Napier.
Yes it is a huge decison to make. kiwimade As Mr M is from England and I have lived there, still have all my papers and my NHS Number ,so have all the benfits of an Englsh person.
As it's raining today I have started on my Bathroom spring clean. Leave my lounge for the time been as I am having a new Firebox put in.
Will look at some patterns later as I don't have any kniting at present.Have a couple of non wool projects to do over the next few days.
Did my food shop yesterday,so need to go out. Will go out and bring some wood in later for a fire.
Yes kiwimade dust can build up when you don't move things about.
Poppyeye and Kuaka hope you both are keeping warm and enjoying your crafting. Kiwimade enjoy your afternoon when you can sit and do some stitching or have you a good book to read.
Have a great day everyone.

morning ladies :) Only the dining room and kitchen to go then a blat with the Karcher on the windows and the inside will be done. I need a fine(ish) day to wash the outside of the house down. I do that twice a year to help protect the paintwork. More so, since we had the house painted not that long ago.

I slipped over on the ramp early June and my foot is still tender from it. I think I have damaged it again as omg it's painful today. Could be from climbing ladders to get to the scotia when I clean.

I'm picking away at the embroidery. I could have finished it days ago but other things to do. But I am happy with it so far. I have found another embroidery project to do but need to practice the stitches first so will dig out some scrap fabric and have a tutu. A good way to use old thread too. And I need to buy an awl so will have a look around for one. Might mean another trip to Tauranga and the sewing shop... what a shame lol.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Not good re the foot Kiwimade, Mine still plays up every so often and you being on a ladder sure wouldnt help it.. Hope it mends soon.

I only have the bathrooms and a finall wipe down of the kitchen and vaccumm left to do, before the inspection. Everyone is say its fine, but its our first and I dont want them to think Im grubby or anything.

I did half the outside for the cobwebs yesterday, its funny how you dont see them until one stands out and then you notice the rest.

I didnt paint at all yesterday, someone was in a right mood and its no good me trying to do something that detailed when he has annoyed me.. He never admits he is unwell , he always picks an arguement and storms off to bed. So I always know before he Eventually tells me. So I let him sulk, he had a short sleep I think and got up for tea, quiet but ok.. He has a touch of tonsilitis I think, but is nasally today too.

Ohh Kiwimade the things we have to do, re having to go to the sewing shop lol... Its funny but I dont like Tauranga, on the odd occassion that Ive been there it just felt soo disjointed and all over the place, I have two friends there and have no desire to visit lol.. They understand lol.

The Blue Bells are finally Flowering Yayay, pretty little plants.. I might have to get a couple more pots to thin them out a bit, or give some away while they are dormant I suppose.

Have a fab day all

Good Morning Ladies, The rain gone for todaybut have high winds at present was going to pop into town, but will leave it for another day. Heaps of oranges on the ground which needs picking up.
Hope you are resting your foot Kiwimade after been on it and up and down ladders.
Good luck with your inspection on Tuesday Popeye. So glad I don't have to worry about that.
Finished the bathroom and toilet yesterday. Going clean out my linen cupboard today. Will put some things aside for the sallies.

Yesterday was hard as it was one year ago since when Mr M had his first chemo. Thankgoodness he only had two treatments.
Time to move the wind has dropped for the time been so I put up the oranges and bring some more wood in for fire later today.

Happy Crafting Everyone and stay warm and dry.

morning ladies :) Yesterday we had Dad's unveiling as it's a year next week since he passed away. I can't believe how fast the year has gone.

Popeye, I don't mind Tauranga as we can leave lol. It's the best place for my sewing stuff and we're there for the beach often enough.

Back to the spring clean, last push today to get it finished and this includes cleaning behind the oven (not looking forward to that!).

I finished the embroidered fuchsia flowers last evening and now need to hem the cloth. Am very happy with it, I guess practice pays off. I'll take a pic when completely finished.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
That year has gone soo fast Kiwimade..

When we cleaned up the other house Izzys mum told me that Window cleaner is a really good all purpose cleaner.. but it wasnt ready to help behine the oven. OMG that was a mess.. I used chemico in the end... I dont have one to clean behind now lol.. This is the first place Ive ever had a wall oven and I love it. No bending with hot dishes..Even if it is a little slow for baking, Im slowly increasing the temps as I get more used to it.

Im going to wash the bathroom floors today then Ill vacc tomorrow and clean the benches and windowsills in the kitchen and Im done.. Kind like a spring cleaning really lol.

A bit creaky cos Madam Missy managed to push me onto my back and slept on my tummy. Friday night she was on the top of the chair where she likes to sleep and I said something to her, I swear she looked at me as if ti say "Really?" the little tart lol.

Just found two more pictures that had arrived yesterday. Our posty has no set time, she can be early some days and really late on other days. I checked the box at about 2-30 and nothing was there. One is MrPs John Wayne, Im looking forward to doing that one cos it has a beautiful Sunset behind him and a sign one for the Last christmas present, So I will start that later, and the tree and birds will go on hold till Ive finished.

Its a bit chilly out there..

Have a fab day all

Love your new tray cloth kiwimade. May look at doing some stitching over the Summer as I have heaps of cottons and it gets too hot to knit some days. Thanks for sharing.

Morning ladies, I have had a lazy weekend, just spent the time pottering around the house having a half-hearted attempt at tidying up. Was planning to do some gardening but decided to leave it till today and now we have constant showers so I guess I'll leave it for another day.

Have a doctors appointment at 2pm, just for a blood pressure check and more pills. May go to the club tonight to play snooker, and then again, I may not, see how I feel when the time comes.

Yesterday I finished a crocheted tea cosy, a hideous bright orange and yellow crocheted flower bag for an order (I struggled 'cos they are my least favourite colours - silly isn't it? Any other colour combination and I wouldn't have minded at all). And I finished a crocheted string bag. The bag and the tea cosy are for the market. Next market is at the end of the month. Now I have to find something else to do.

The tray cloth is beautiful kiwimade. I don't have the patience for embroidery these days. I have some ufo's that I should tackle, but I probably won't.

Washing machine is beeping, so I had better get the washing out on the line (luckily my line has a roof over it so mostly the rain doesn't affect it). Yesterday though I put a sheet which was almost dry over a chair on the deck to finish off in the sun, and when I brought it in a bird had flown over and left a deposit - grrrr.

Have an awesome day everyone.

Afternoon everyone,

Only one more job to tackle , and Ive kinda done things back to front. The benches and windosills in the kitchen, and yes Ive already washed the floor so I need to be careful.

Im absolutely whacked, everyone is saying Ive done too much but I guess I can say that Ive done the spring cleaning lol.

So a play on here and then Ill do some painting. I have sorted the diamonds for the last present so Ill get that done and then I can finish the birds in the tree and MrPs John Wayne one, and I still have the middle Mandala one too.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) Well behind the oven wasn't as bad as I thought, a good scrub with handy andy and then a blat over with the steam mop. The fridge was making a funny noise though since I moved it, an easy fix by moving some jars inside it.

It's freezing outside, it almost feels like there is snow close by.

Sometime today I'll have a tutu with different stitches as I've found a design I would like to stitch. And I have another chapter of our daughter's book to proofread too.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Its cold here too Kiwimade, and that wind goes right through you.

I just want to vacc in front of our cahirs and Rolys birdseed up and then Im done.
This Inspection milarky is wayyyy worse than getting a warrant for the car lol.. I had a massive scared, stressed panic last night. MrP said looks its way cleaner than when we got here... So im on a gentle worry this morning lol.. I will be glad when its all over tho. lol

Im hoping the last part of a birthday present comes in today.. Two gardening places in town and no one had carnations lol..as in plants not cut flowers. But some are due in today.

I did get time to paint yesterday which was good cos it helped relax me.

Have a fab day everyone, cross all your fingers

Good Morning Ladies. Very overcast again today. Yesterday was very cold. Was out for the day. Catchup with some friends. Lunch and lots of knitting. Came home feeling very relaxed.

We are having our water pipes cleaned out this week. About time. So have to put some water aside as all they tell us it going ahead from today till Friday. 9am-4pm so washing on at present.Wanted to finish my Spring Cleaning.
Hope all goes well for you today Popeye with your inspection. How many times year do they do an inspection?

Went out to Carshed last night and found myself a jigsaw puzzle to do. Will do when I having a cuppa or need to have a rest. Mr M like doing jigsaw puzzles.20 plus out in the shed.
A friend is going to drop off her sewing machine later in the week for me. Have some mending to do,also cut out a couple of bags that I want sew for presents.
Hope you all have a great day.
Happy crafting

This is our first ever inspection Sunflowers... So its all very new to us.

Ive just noticed how dirty the bottom glass of the ranch slider is so Im going off to do that.

popeye333 - 2019-09-10 08:44:00
15181

morning ladies :) That bottom panel of the ranchslider always seems to be the grubbiest doesn't it. When we lived in town, our ranchsliders had the kids handprints and doggy nose prints from our labby <3

Yoga this morning and while in town will put some petrol in the car. We have a family doo to go to this weekend so better top up.

The Furry One chased a cat the other day, we have no idea where it came from but thank goodness cats can climb trees. I hope it didn't come from across the road as the traffic is heavy at times. At least it won't be back and won't cross the road again if it did come from there. And yes, we still have the rabbits, they have now moved from the vegie garden into the flower garden. The Furry One better get his skates on and do some real hunting.

Am tutu-ing with some embroidery stitches before I buy the design I like. Want to make sure I can actually stitch it first.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
The mess on the windows was outside mostly lol.. so i took the blame back from Missy lol.

We passed with flying colours. Our Property manager is soo cool.. and it was her first house inspection too. And she is going to get things fixed that I told her about too..So she ws a nervous as what we were .As its her judgement when choosing the tennants.

I have to nip up and do my bloods this morning and pick up the last piece of a birthday present and Ill have a wander through the oppy since they have changed into summer clothes.

MrP is still in bed, Hes a Marter and a half, reckons he has chit sleep but wont take half a sleeping pill every so often to help his body have a good sleep.

Right it looks like rain is coming so a quick play on fb and them im off

Have a fab day ladies

Good Morning Ladies from Sunny Napier. Washing out on the line. Yes It early for me,having our water pipes cleaned out this week. So far our water is ok,in other areas its a rust colour. Need to replace the pipes.
Will be interesting to see what wool is posted to me this month.

Pleased to hear your inspection went well yesterday. Popeye. Now you can relax and enjoy your painting. Hope it's warm and sunny up your way.

Try and finish a little more cleaning this morning. Not sure what I had yesterday, but upset my body.
Talking to my cuz last night he on the out skirts of Hamilton and he fed up with the rain and cold they had for last 2-3 weeks. I just said join the club,we had alot rain as well. It was very cold this morning everything was white. Yes it was a hard one this morning.
I'm knitting mohair at present in black and red. It's a pickup put down knit just now.
Time to move and do the dishes and just maybe sit out in the sun for a while. The office and bedroom get the afternoon sun so it's cold at present.
Have a great day ladies.

Yesterday was clear but cold sunflowers, today damp and cold lol.. Its like its saying we havent quite finished with winter yet.

Last night I didnt go online after tea like I normally do.. Well I sat there with empty hands and it felt odd lol.. Enough to think fi I do that again Ill have to knit lol... So I looked through a couple of cookbooks instead. and started a list for the weekend. And it will be Far better organised than the last time lol. I found a recipe for mini muffin sized caramel slice type pots. I love caramel slice but the last time I had a piece was before 2011, and I very quickly learnt what it feels like to be off your face on sugar. lol... But these mini pots will be small and hopefully wont do the same thing, and if not Izzy and her siblings can have them lol

morning ladies :) Sorry marlie, I can't help you there. Have you kept the sellers e mail addy? Maybe go back through your 'sent' emails and your correspondence will still be there. I've done what happened to you too and had to find something that 'fitted' the wool I had.

Lawn to mow today, spring is here in spite of the cold. Had the best sleep in ages last night and I think it's because we were doing different asanas at yoga yesterday and I pushed myself.

Still tutu-ing with different embroidery stitches and feeling more confident about the design I saw.

Almost finished my coffee, will head outside shortly.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Ohh Marlie horrible to run out, sorry im unable to help too.

Shopping today but I only need to go to the supermarket so we should be home at a reasonable time.

Im dissapointed with the picture Im doing. The writing on it is very poor. To the point I dont think you can tell what it says at all, I only know cos Ive seen the real picture of it.. I will finish it and see what it looks like. But if I dont think its good enough I might pick off the letters and redo them in black like the two larger words. Its a fiddly job but Im not put off by things like that.

The Blue bells are flowering nicely now.. Neat to see them and the birds coming in. Alot of nest buiolding happeneing straight in front of the ranch slider too.

Right better get cracking. Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) Overcast here today, am hoping I can get some weeding done and tidy up the pruning MrK did with the chainsaw. And I have some rubbish to burn as well. Our bluebells aren't in flower yet but I do have some late flowering daffs. I noticed my lilies were breaking through the soil the other day so things are moving.

I think it's next week the Fluffy One stays with us for a week or so while my sister is away. She was so excited to see us at Dad's unveiling last weekend.

Still tutu-ing with different stitches and am quite pleased with what I can do. Not to shabby for someone self taught.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone, a bit mixed here too Kiwimade but its not cold.

I cooked up the fruit to make two christmas cakes today. but before they go in the oven Im on a Citrus mission.
Our town is awesome at sharing its abundance of fruit, and Im going to one house not that far away from us for Lemons, and then another down nearer where we used to live for grapefruit and oranges.. Ill make some marmalade and see how it sells.
Im also going to bake tomorrow, So fruit cakes today, normal bake although all new recipes for me to try and Ill cut the fruit and soak overnight to make the marmalade on Sunday. I love this time of the year. I dont charge heaps, so long as I make enough to cover my costs and in this case, only the sugar, and a little bit of profit Im happy..

Ive been meaning to ask for ages, Does anyone here do Tatting? My grandmother was going to teach me, but she sadly died before we had the chance.. I assume people still do it.

Right I better get cracking...

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, I had a very slow start this morning, was after 9.30 when I woke and I was so cosy it was really hard to get out of bed. It's cold here so I lit the fire.

Yesterday I worked at the op shop and brought home a "dog blanket" $4, with the intention of using it to make another cover for my sons dog bed. I made him one when he was here for my birthday and the dog has already ripped a hole in it. Ungrateful little cur. Anyway, puss seems to have claimed it. I thought she wouldn't go near it as it needs a wash and is covered in what looks like dog hair so I just left it on the floor in the laundry and she has been curled up on it all morning. Funny animals. She won't use either of the lovely cat beds I've bought her.

Going to bring some more firewood in shortly. Had planned to do some gardening but it is too miserable. Won't be long and it will be too hot, but I must make an effort soon.

Popeye I used to do tatting about 50 years ago, but I don't know whether I could do it now. Also used to do bobbin lace - I should sell off my bobbins and my cake decorating stuff. Never going to use them again.

Right, I had better have lunch.

Have a super afternoon everyone.

morning ladies :) Tatting is something I have never tried, I think you need a tatting shuttle to do it. Maybe look online for tutorials? I think we need to 'harness' people with these talents to teach us and pass on their knowledge. You Tube and online tutorials are great but there is nothing like sitting with someone and learning a new skill.

I'm going to splurge out and buy some silk hand embroidery threads. I love the sheen and the way they play on the light.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

I agree Kiwimade we need to have the next generation shown before its a lost skill. I had shuttles ohh 10 plus years ago but sold them.. I dont know that my fingers would work with them, but then again it might help the fingers.. Ohh Kuaka lace making is another one that Id love to learn.

Stage two baking today.. The fruit cakes came out lovely yesterday, took an extra 30 mins than normal. The oven is very slow, but handy cos I havent burnt anything in there lol.

I made a triple batch of my fruit cake recipe and I had to finish mixing it by hand, a couple of big serving spoons of fruit wouldnt fit in the mixer bowl.. First time in Many years that MrP hasnt done the mixing for me..

I got three shopping bags full of citrus on my outing yesterday, Ive been wracking my brain, I think I just used to blitz the grapefruit for the marmalade in my kitchen whizz.. its been that long since I made it lol.. Actually it would have been 1997 lol, cos I dont think I have made it since we left Taranaki ... oops.

Ive already scrapped the idea of making the mini caramel tartlets, its a big fiddly job and will take up precious time, so Ill do them another time when I havent got a third day in a row to do.

I better get busy, Ill check FB and then make a start.. the bench is already set up with ingredients and bowls etc..

MrP didnt want a sleeping pill last night, so this morning is being a pain and wanting to stay in bed.. I said you wont be sleeping once the mixer is on lol

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, just about to have lunch and then go to the club to play mah jong - I'll come home again if there's 5 of us as I have heaps to do. Lawns need cutting and it is probably just about dry enough now.

popeye, I gave up lace making, it's very enjoyable and very relaxing but very slow. They reckon you can't have wicked thoughts while you're doing it!

Right, lunchtime.

Have a super afternoon everyone.

morning ladies :) We have family stuff on this weekend so not much crafting being done.

I need more ink for the printer but isn't it sad when it's cheaper to buy a new printer than ink. Such a waste.

Washing machine is beeping, that's my signal to move.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Have fun with the Family Kiwimade.. and yes I got a printer a wee while ago, $30 for the Printer and $90 for the ink.. And I still havent connected it up yet lol

MrP asked was I going to put the bean fence up and do sweet peas, I finally admitted to him that I dont like gardening, Im happy to pick veges tho lol.. So I told him I have enough work inside to be bothered outside.. The pots are enough for me lol. I would have inside plants tho, if Missy didnt like playing in them.

The baking went well yesterday, but I am knackered today, pain meds are on board, plus I had alot of my heart racing this morning as well as a wheezy cough.. and the heart stuff has made me even more tired. But I will plod on, I have some dishes to throw in the dishwasher and Ill paint today.

Later on I will cut up the fruit for some Marmalade, I looked in my trusty preserving book and found a couple of nice sounding recipes to try.. But the grapefruit one will be my regular one.

Yep Sunflowers the Fruit cakes are in the freezers, Last year I made heaps of fruit mince and froze it so if I make more fruit mince pies, one step is done.

Have fun at the Markets Sunflowers, the one they used to run at Pokeno have closed.. The land they used has been sold, I think a Countdown is going in. So the choice here is the Puekohe one, which is pretty much food and cheap stuff from China.. and once a month up at Awhitu, which is a more crafty one.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I remember you posting us109 :)

It's a stunning day outside, the little bit of fog has gone already and no wind. Perfect day for spraying the roses. I've asked MrK if he could help me put more supports up for two climbing roses at some stage. We use concrete reinforcing mesh, perfect for the roses to climb on and easy to hang. I have two rampart roses there on purpose so most of the fence can be covered over time.

I have been teaching myself 'thread painting' and am becoming more confident with the technique. Before I buy the pattern, I might try and design my own from a photo and stitch that. I'll have a rummage and see what fabric I can use. I'm a firm believer in using good quality products, even when learning. Nothing puts you off more from trying something if your failures look even worse because you used rubbish gear.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Tis beautiful here too Kiwimade. Im enjoying the spring weather but Im glad the rain has gone for a few days.
I didnt get the grapfruitcut yesterday so I will do it today. Madam managed to roll me onto my back so Im very sore, but the good thing is the fruit has to soak so it doesnt matter how long I take to cut it lol.
I did quite a bit on the painting Im doing yesterday. I decided to finish it and see what it looks like.. If all else fails that person will be getting a different present lol.

We used re-enforcing wire for our bean fences Kiwimade, one purchase has lasted many years.

I did alot of housework on the lappy yesterday. Deleted heaps of emails and photos.. Ive only done the 2019 photos so I still have alot to go through. Usually I do it once a month but it just got forgotten lol..

I hope everyone has a good day
