| Morning ladies, it is a beautiful day here now that the thick fog has lifted. I plan to get out into the garden for an hour or so, and then this afternoon is my usual mah jong. I believe some of us are going out for tea afterwards. I hope so, means no cooking for a change. I don't think there will be any need for me to be phoning the police tomorrow, and even if there was it wouldn't do any good. Last time I needed them, the call transferred to Kawakawa which then transferred to Whangarei with a message to call 111 if it was an emergency or phone back on Monday otherwise. This was on a Saturday late afternoon! Useless. Right, I had better get cracking in the garden. I have a mandarin to plant which has been languishing in a pot for a couple of years, and now that I have shifted the firewood from where I want to plant it, I had better get that done, and pick my grapefruits which are being steadily eaten - I suspect possums looking at the amount of fruit which has gone. Also got a camellia to plant and some cyclamen. Won't get it all done today but I must make a start. Have fun everyone. kuaka - 2019-07-30 10:56:00 |
| Morning everyone. Looks like a mixed bag out there today. I could be ducking through showers, have to go get MrPs meds. Our fave chemist is working in Both chemists here at the mo, the one at the med centre sacked the manager there. So Our Gary is split between two. Ill do my bloods while Im out too. Our Furry Madam has been a right royal hard case this morning. I should have vacuumed yesterday cos Roly is moulting.. But I didnt. So this morning Madam Missy was hooning through the feathers on the floor, which are now spread halfway through the lounge and the craft room lol. Spreading the joy lol.... Not hahaha I might have to make an appointment to see our dr. Im racing again in the mornings.. possibly just need an increase in one med, and that also reminds me I havent heard back from my ECG.. hearts are such troubling things lol. Im starting the Pigs today. finished the gift one. Its round diamonds so its slightly different to do than the squares ones, cos they can sort of Clip in. Have an awesome day everyone popeye333 - 2019-07-31 09:19:00 |
| morning ladies :) Foggy and freezing here, our high is meant to be 12. My yoga classes are during the day now and yesterday as I was leaving the gym, I got caught in the freezing sleet. Thank goodness for car heaters. I'm knitting steadily on this throw and am very pleased with the pattern. It's only over eight rows so not hard. Am rethinking about putting the tassels on... oh who knows lol, will wait until I have finished. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-01 08:08:00 |
| Good Morning Everyone. Long day yesterday, had a couple of appointments in town and had a look around at some sewing machines. One apointment was the dentist. Well over an hour to have one double tooth out.Yep. I had put it off for sometime. Have a great day. Edited by sunflowers28 at 9:18 am, Thu 1 Aug sunflowers28 - 2019-08-01 09:15:00 |
| Morning everyone We had rain overnight, but it is clear again now. will be beautiful. The temp has dropped tho. Does anyone watch Wentworth, that was super impressive last night for the final.. I wont say anything tho in case anyone has recorded it. very impressed. Its one of my fav shows Started the Piggy painting yesterday, its round drills as they call them, and is alot faster to do than square ones. finally one for me, I love pigs thay are such characters. Shopping today, a little list but stuff we need . Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-01 09:17:00 |
| morning ladies :) OMG yes, we watch Wentworth. What an ending, can't wait now for the next season. Housework today and a few things to do outside weather permitting. The Furry and Fluffy Ones have been running round madly, it doesn't take much for them to play. The safest thing to do is to just sit and put your feet up while they race around and enjoy their fun lol. We've had our new mattress a week now and every night I have slept through without having to get up and stretch. Even MrK is having better sleep. So worth the money. Popeye, I think I have some of those 'diamonds', they were given to me. I'll take a pic and send it to you and if you can use them, you can have them. Sunflowers, I hope you are feeling better now the tooth is out. Warm salt mouth washes will help too (ex dental assistant here). Keep up the pain relief as needed. Time to move, the dogs have settled now and the first load of washing is on. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-02 08:01:00 |
| Morning everyone Wild and wooly here, intermittent rain. and a bit chilly. I managed to get the shopping done without getting wet yesterday, thank goodness. But I ended up with bottles running everywhere so Im going to transfer a large but not full of stuff in the garage into a smaller crate and then Ill sit the larger one on the cargo trolley. And I shouldnt be chasing bottles that have rolled to the fence lol.. funny now but yesterday it was not very good language happening lol. Thank you Kiwimade, they will be handy. The Occ Health or OT lady is comint this morning to help MrP retrain and strengthen his mucles, thus helping to prevent falls. As horrible as this sounds, it will last 5minutes, once she has gone , he wont do anything until she is here the next time. But Ill be happy to eat my wordsif he proves me wrong. Ive decided to sell most of my Kids books collection. Not my Enid Blyton tho.I want to get a set of 3 rings upsized, and as it is a want Not a need Ive decided thats a good way of investing the money. Took them to the jewellers yesterday and they quoted $85 per ring for 2.5 sizes bigger. But I will get a quote from the three other jewellers in Pukekohe too. Busy morning, so Id better get cracking.. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-02 08:59:00 |
| morning ladies :) Once again the Furry and Fluffy Ones are racing round madly as they do in the morning. It was freezing yesterday, I think even the dogs felt it as they barey ventured outside. I might do some sewing today, sorry popeye, completely forgot to send you a pic. Will do that when I settle into my sewing later as they are in my work basket. MrK has a magnetic latch to screw onto a cabinet for me as the door is slightly buckled. This way it will shut and with grandies coming soon, I don't want them to be tempted. Some Lladro and other sentimental pieces are in it. My clothes drier is dying, looks like that will be our next purchase. Will see if I can stretch it out until summer when I don't need it quite so much. I should be able to buy one on a good special then too. I looked at getting it repaired but this is a $50 cost to tell me if it is worth repairing. MrK seems to think it's 'stuffed' and it is almost 20 years old. Time to move, I'm being 'invited' to play again by two dogs - tug ropes can hurt when bashed on your leg lol. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-03 08:24:00 |
| Morning everyone Wow what a wild night we had. On the chilly side so sleeping was good. Havent looked at the local FB to see if there was any damage. No worries Kiwimade, just when ever suits. I know how impatient Furry ones can be wanting attention lol. Im going to bake this morning.. It will be a challenge cos I have two pull aparttins I use for cakes and slices.. I want to make a chocolate cake, egg, milk and butter free, a banana cake for an over due birthday present , marshmellow short cake and an uncooked slice. So where I would normally leave the cake still last, they will be done first, then the tinswill be free for the others lol So Kinda a back to front bake for me. MrP is having a lay in , but he knows the mixer will be in use, so he wont be getting a long sleep in lol. The OT lady came, and she is ordering a much safer way of raising the couch, a new bed handle that helps him getting in and out of bed, cos the old ones are being taken away, a poor old fella managed to get his head stuck and basically hung himself... and some handles for in the toilet, and she is also checking the weight limits on his Walker, he made need a larger stronger one. As i said yesterday it would last five minutes.. well a bit longer, hesaid its all a load of rubbish... Its him that will suffer not me. I should be painting later which will help me relax from the standing. Have an awesome day everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-03 08:58:00 |
| Morning ladies, well the meeting the other day with the stepson went okay. I felt a bit uncomfortable, he did most of the talking and he admitted that they had stayed too long and apologised for that. He suggested we do a "reconciliation" to see who owed who, work out how much he would have charged for the work he did and how much I would have charged for rent. I thought no flipping way - he's so tight he would work it that I would end up owing him money. So I said, "no, we'll just put it behind us" but I don't think our relationship will ever be quite the same. I still don't know where they are living. kiwimade - what is wrong with your dryer? Mine died during one of my stepsons visits and he pulled the back off it and the belt had broken. The local electrical shop ordered another which he fitted for me and it's still going fine. Without the belt it doesn't turn and if it doesn't turn the heater doesn't work. The belt was about $30 from memory. Lovely sunny day here but cold so I won't be venturing out into the garden this morning. I've already been out and brought in two loads of firewood and some kindling so when I come home from mah jong at the club I will light the fire. Heat pump is going at the moment. I have a friend coming for tea this evening so I'm planning to do lamb shoulder chops in a casserole, with mashed potatoes and veg. He said he will bring something for dessert. Or is that desert (it is the one spelling I always get confused with). I will prepare the casserole and then just pop it in the oven when I get home from playing mah jong. Going to do some sewing this morning. I did some yesterday and enjoyed doing it. The sewing room is small and the little heater warms it up in a jiffy. I seem to have lost my knitting/crochet mojo at the moment. The lovely cropped poncho that I knitted for myself is too big, so will try to sell it at the market. I should have knitted the smaller size. Grrrrrr! Don't know if I can face doing another. Right, I had better crack on. Have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2019-08-03 10:11:00 |
| morning ladies :) Funny isn't it, how we seemed to have lost our knitting/crochet mojo. I think for me, it's because I've been uninspired and don't need to do quite so much knitting for the grandies. The throw I'm knitting is coming along nicely and will look good on the couch. Although I suspect it could end up in a bedroom. Kuaka, my drier turns on and then hums, and nothing. So I manually turn the barrel back and forth and then it goes again. It will keep going as long as it is warm. If it cools down before I can put another load in, I have to start the whole process again. Another blustery day here, it's freezing again. I have made enough produce bags for stocking stuffers and secret Santa gifts and yesterday sewed a 'delicates' bag for my bra in the washing machine. Even put a zip in lol. Can't remember the last time I sewed in a zip. So my stash of fabric has halved. I don't do stashes as such anymore as this house is quite a bit smaller than our old home and storage is an issue. Seeing as the ironing board is still up from yesterday's sewing, I might as well do the ironing today. I have to google how to clean the base of my iron though, it's sticking. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-04 07:55:00 |
| Morning everyone MrP has declared he is staying in bed today, Hoping his new antidepressants kick in soon. I will duck up to the supermarket for Missys sachets and then paint. cant possibly vacuum while he is trying to sleep lol. I thought I had quite a stash of fabric, but I think there must be another crate in the spare room. That too can wait till christmas, cos Ill need to get the decorations out so will find the Missing crates at the same time lol.I need to make a couple of lighter skirts for summer. Right a quick nosey on Fb and then ill brave the wind lol. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-04 09:16:00 |
| Good morning ladies, I had planned to do some gardening this morning, but of course by the time I was organised it's raining. Looks like it will clear in a while, so if it does, I plan to pull some weeds and put in a few plants. If it doesn't clear then I guess I'll leave it for another day. Kiwimade, maybe the belt in your dryer has stretched and is too loose to turn the drum if the drum is stationary, but will turn it if the drum is moving. Just a thought. So I'll have a coffee and wait for the rain to stop and while I'm having my coffee I'll do a bit of crochet. Market at the weekend - and silly me thought that I had a fortnight before the market. Oops! Have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2019-08-04 11:31:00 |
| morning ladies :) Thanks for the advise about the drier, might spend the $50 and see what's what. It's freezing here again today, we've had a massive storm blow through overnight so hopefully things will clear up. My hyacinths are in full bloom so things are happening in the garden. I'm glad I did all the weeding the other day. Nearly finished the first panel for the throw, these wet days certainly give me time to craft. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-05 08:07:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies, Yesterday I was up around 6.30am and looked outa nd saw a most love red sky,by the time I got my cellphone out to take a pic it had turn to yellow colour. To day is dark overhead and cold. Well you are not the only ones who have lost their mojo. I was visiting a friend and asked how was her knitting going she had lost her mojo as well. I said I tidy up my yarn, needdles etc and put it all back in my craft room. sunflowers28 - 2019-08-05 09:05:00 |
| Morning everyone, We had an awesome storm through the night, and the temp has definelty dropped. Have a friend going to Christchurch tomorrow so I remembered that I have a lovely thick black cape with a leopard type collar, if she would like to borrow it. I want a fine patch long enough to prep the ground for some sweet peas, Do they need a deep bed? No big plans for the day, but painting will be in there. Have a fab day and stay warm everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-05 09:18:00 |
| Morning everyone...i picked mum up last Wednesday from hospital after being in there for 3 weeks and 2 days and on Thursday at 7 am I had to call the ambulance again as mum was having chest pain.. so back to the hospital she went she has too much fluid on her lungs, feet and legs. Poor old mum one thing after another. I hope you are all well and keeping warm. I lit the fire early this morning, took my daughter to work grabbed myself a coffee, and now I'm going to hang out the washing and rake up the yard from wood shavings and bark etc. I haven't lost my mojo with knitting yet lol I'm knitting a grey jacket for my 11-month-old grandson and I want to get it finished this week. Take care 10ofus - 2019-08-05 10:19:00 |
| Morning everyone Ohh 10ofus, it sounds like they let your Mum lay down too long, and built up the fluid.. One of our wisest drs told us, never go to bed and lay down when your sick etc.. it builds up fluid very qickly. Hope they have managed to get Mum well again. her heart was probably over working to get blood around the swollen body.. Take care. Nothing out of the normal happened yesterday, other than madam missy thinking it was a good look to get between me and the Diamond painting.. That was tricky lol... But I told her if she got down, I wouldnt paint after tea, which I didnt so she was on my lap all evening. Shes luffs her Mummys lap lol. I did wash out the fridge yesterday, it was overdue, and I found theOffensive odour lol.. It was a carton of Pineapple juice... But it all looks clean again and the Bonus , I found a 500 gram block of cheese hidden under insulin packets.. Close to half of the vegebin is the insulin supplies for both of us lol. Today Ill be trimming MrPs whiskers. he has managed to break the wires on his shaver, not a cheap one either , so Ill have to do it with the hair clippers, he rips himself apart if he uses a disposable. Ill look around for a new shaver. Have a fab day everyone, the weather looks far less dramatic today popeye333 - 2019-08-06 08:59:00 |
| morning ladies :) It's foggy morning here but the sun is coming through. Hopefully we will have a fine day. Yin Yoga this morning, my classes have changed from evening to day classes. Feels a bit weird going during the day but I must admit, it's nice not going out in the cold winter evenings. I bought some winter flannelette sheets for the single beds yesterday. I don't like sleeping on them but I'm not the one using them lol. That bedroom is cold and with our grandies coming I want them to be warm. I would like to buy a couple of new woollen underlaysfor the beds too. Seems to be time to update the bedding in the house. I finished the first panel on the throw and and have started the second. Am happy with it so far. The Marvel soft yarn from Spotlight cables well, I find it's too thin for plain knitting but perfect for the bulk of cables and the like. And it washes well, throw it in the washing machine and it's done. I hope your mum is on the mend, 10ofus. That's pretty rough having to go back into hospital. We had similar issues with Dad so know where you're at. Time to move, things won't get done if I'm sitting here. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-07 08:19:00 |
| Morning everyone Like you Kiwimade we dont like flannelette sheets either. We stopped using them when we lived in the bus, it took far too long for them to dry too. Our sheets are also getting very thin so we will have to start replacing the,. they will make good vege bags tho lol. So today I will paint, Thank goodness I have hobbies cos Id hate to just sit and watch tv. I have a pillow in the front of my chair so when I sit, it stretches my spine, which helps spread the vertibrae out. Thank goodness. Talking to a sister friend last night, her dad used to be an apiarist? bee man and they have decided to put 20 hives on their new property.. She knows I dont like bees, but also knows I know that we need them. Right I better get a few things done on here. Hope Mum is on the mend 10ofus. Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-07 09:32:00 |
| Good Morning-just!, Blue Sky and sun is out again today.Yesterday was cooler.Back tothe denist yesterday as the side of face was pufflyup over the last few days. Cleaned out it and redressed it. and more tabs. Hopefully it clearup this time.Back to warm water and salt. Up early as a group of us went out for breakfast and saw off my girlfriend off as she heads off to The UK. It had been put off a few times over the last few years.Been 14 years since her trip. P is going to see a few of Mike's Family as well. Yes, there was alot tears and not just my ones. Sorry to hear your mum is back in hospital 10ofus. Edited by sunflowers28 at 12:25 pm, Wed 7 Aug sunflowers28 - 2019-08-07 12:22:00 |
| morning ladies :) Well this has to be the thickest fog yet and still drivers don't have their lights on. We have new 60kph signs around major intersections now, here's hoping it helps with the high amount of accidents we have around here. Our rates demand came the other day and it seems we are being charged for rubbish. That's ok if you are in town but they don't collect rurally. So I asked them why and apparently it's so we pay for the use of public rubbish bins (really? How often do we use them?) and the refuse centre (never use as our paper waste is burned, jars recycled at home and very little plastic used). And they said I wasn't the only rural person asking for a 'please explain'. So we pay twice for rubbish collection. I need to mow the lawn at some stage so fingers crossed there is no rain or it rains after I've mowed. The birds are tapping their toes for their food, the feeder is empty. It's been so cold they are polishing off their food quickly now. Crafting later. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-08 07:58:00 |
| Morning everyone Wow Kiwimade, councils know every little loop hole to get money for nothing dont they. You dont mind paying for a service, if you actually use it. Shopping for us today, thankfully my pain has eased. And its not curently raining, had a heavy downpour about 6-15 and then the fire siren went 5 minutes later. I hope it wasnt a crash. Im powering through the latest diamond painting.. Another gift so cant say what it is.. but I know it will be loved, and possibly even cause tears with this one. I hope everyone is well.. Have a fab day popeye333 - 2019-08-08 08:32:00 |
| Morning ladies, I was up early as the neighbours told me last night that the arborists were coming this morning to take out the top of a big tree - we're not sure whose side of the boundary it is on, but it needed to be accessed from my place. I was going to move my car so I could get out later to do the op shop shift, but they said they would be well gone when I spoke to the guys who arrived this morning. They certainly made short work of it. I was sitting watching and puss came in and hopped up onto the window ledge, she was in the corner and had her front paws on one ledge and back paws on the other and she stopped in her tracks when she saw the truck and chipper and several men on "her patch", her neck grew longer, her eyes got wider then she scuttled to the safety of my lap. She was so funny. I got my rates account a few days ago. Just over $3000 and although we do have a rubbish collection, we have to buy the bags and they are almost $3 each, and I have to take my rubbish down to the next street to be collected. I don't have any street lights on my stretch of the road, we pay for our water. It is a good chunk out of my pension before I do anything. Time for brunch and a coffee, then I will put the bird bath back. Just as well I moved it. I had the top of and was moving it to safety and a tui landed on the base and then took off. I love seeing the birds using it. They certainly enjoy it. Right, get a into g. Have a super day kuaka - 2019-08-08 11:08:00 |
| Morning everyone Waiting for a phone call to organise when MrPs new saftey parts can be brought out... And he is in bed so Im on phone duty. So a play on here until I can do noisier things.. lol Have a fab day alll popeye333 - 2019-08-09 09:11:00 |

| morning ladies :) The sun is out! Hopefully it stays around for a while. I've had a huge cleanout of one of the bedroom wardrobes and now have spare shelf space. I needed a place to store things we had under our bed as the new bed base reaches to the floor. Should have bought the base when we bought the mattress but oh well. So I've had to have a shuffle round of 'stuff'. My wool stash is now down to one hessian supermarket bag :D and about half a hessian bag for fabric. Am not big on stashes so have been working on reducing them over the last couple of years. I have a pile of rubbish to burn so will head outside soon to do that. I don't like personal papers being put in the bin, you never know where they will end up. Back to the throw later today after I have pulled all the furniture out from the walls in the bedroom to vacuum. Might as well do that before the new bed base arrives as it will all be too heavy to do then. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-10 08:37:00 |
| Morning everyone Isnt it nice to see the sun.. ( yep I said that now lol).. And Im feeling invigorated, so Im changing beds over this morning, I have washing on and If I havent run out of steam I want to move our TV over about a metre, It weighs a tonne but once I take the ornaments and jars of marbles I use to stand the sky box on so the leads reach, I should be able to slide it over carefully. Right I have birthdays wishes to do on FB so I better get cracking. Have a wonderful day everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-10 09:15:00 |
| Hello everybody - just thought you would all like to know Mum is 102 today - still fit as a fiddle - I have been in a black hole for a month or two - have been keeping up with you all gerry64 - 2019-08-10 09:55:00 |
| Hi Gerry, I hope you are feeling better... Happy Birthday to your Mum... Nice to hear she is still going srong.. I have moved the beds.. OMG the queen innersprung is heavy... its the same fabric of one that my parents got in 1978. so not a ightweight thing of today. popeye333 - 2019-08-10 13:01:00 |
| Good evening ladies, happy birthday to your mum Gerry64 - my goodness, the winter went quickly and today was the first market for the "season". I tell you it was hard getting out of bed this morning, but I had a better day than I had expected. Doubt tomorrow will be as good but you never know. It was freezing at the market, and the jazz festival was on and for a while we had a group of musicians/singers (wannabees) right outside our door. While some of it was quite pleasant the sound level left a lot to be desired and by the time they packed up my ears were ringing! Been invited up to the neighbours tomorrow night for a soak in their spa pool so will be taking advantage of that. Would love one, but I know I couldn't afford to run it. Oh to be rich!!! Have a super day tomorrow. I will be up early and off to the market, so will catch everyone later in the week. Night all. kuaka - 2019-08-10 20:04:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another wet day here. The Furry One caught a rabbit yesterday, that's his 20th over his eight year life span. Yep, lol, we've kept count. He's a great wee hunter and is outside trying to catch the second one. No dinner for him last night and no breakkie this morning. I think eating a whole rabbit on one sitting is enough! I can't watch him do it, just makes me feel ill. Happy birthday to your mum, Gerry! Wow, 102 :) I was thinking of you the other day and hoping you were ok. I have a few indoor things to do this morning before I pick up my needles. Yesterday I noticed one of the shelves on the book case has a big bow in it so I will have to shuffle books around to adjust the weight on the shelf. MrK did an awesome job building it and he said he will work out how the shelf can be supported. Better put some more bird feed out, the feeder is empty again. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-11 08:29:00 |
| Morning everyone Wet here too, and slightly cooler than yesterday. I got all I wanted done yesterday, so todays plans are to put the jams etc away in the garage, get all the christmas stuff into a double wardrobe in Izzys room, do a bit more washing and paint after Ive been up the road. Sadly a business went up in smoke yesterday many years ago it was the jeans sewing factory I worked in when I was 16. It has been a few different things since we moved back, but it was currently a Matural wood place, which made toys, furniture, well everything really. And I think they lived in it too. Many fond memories in that building for me. My first full time job. Right I better get cracking.. Have a fab day all popeye333 - 2019-08-11 09:24:00 |
| Good Morning everyone Hope you enjoy doing the markets kuaku. Is it every week now? Edited by sunflowers28 at 10:26 am, Sun 11 Aug sunflowers28 - 2019-08-11 10:22:00 |
| Yep sunflowers Im a bugger for being Independant when it comes to moving furniture etc.. Ive always loved changing rooms around, since I was a kid really. The best part is I found some black fabric I knew I had, and with the addition of a extra piece on top I can have them floor length and a nice fullness on either side. Something I forgot this morning.. someone was having a nosey into the house last night. About 11-45 I saw torch light in my ensuite window... They went right around the house cos MrP saw it too. Nothing was taken, the heart was racing for a bit, but I knew everything was closed up tight. I will call the police tomorrow, just to let them know for insurance sake if they come back. Hence why Im happy Ill be able to totally "shut" the sight out for anyone who is stupid enough to try and get in. Im going to ask the property Manager tomorrow if I can put curtains up on wires where there are verticle blinds missing.. I cant see her saying no.. Right a play on here then Im going to move the tv, and bring my glory box back out into the lounge.. Theres no room for Izzys dolls bed now with the huge bed in her room.. And I use the box to stand the christmas tree on too. Have fun everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-11 13:05:00 |
| Hi Popeye Ring 105 and they will let the local police know. Will either phone or call you.. You will feel better. Also they just may return. Take Careyou two. sunflowers28 - 2019-08-11 15:11:00 |

| 105 was setup in March after the Christchurch shooting. So glad you phoned. sunflowers28 - 2019-08-11 23:36:00 |
| morning ladies :) Jeepers popeye, that would have given you a fright! I caught a guy in my kitchen years ago when the kids were small and chased him off the property with the poker! Couldn't stop shaking for ages. And yes, the new number isn't for emergencies, it's for general stuff. If they think you should have dialed 111, they will sort that for you too. If you had dialed 111 at the time, the police would have come as the person was on your property. Our neighbour's daughter was home alone (years ago too) and a similar thing happened. The police were there quickly and bought dogs. Another wet day but hopefully we have a break in the weather. MrK has pruned some trees and I'm on cleanup duty. Bins go out tomorrow so I'll fill them today. The branches are too big for the compost. We have four rabbits on the lawn now so the Furry One will be kept busy. He was saturated yesterday and filthy, took most of the day to dry out properly as he was in and outside constantly. And of course, he wants to snuggle up if you are sitting down at the time. Better move and put the washing on and get outside while the rain has stopped. happy knitting :) Edited by kiwimade64 at 8:21 am, Mon 12 Aug kiwimade64 - 2019-08-12 08:20:00 |
| Good Morning Ladies. Sunny day here at present after a mixed bag weather wise yesterday. Spend most of my time in my craft room.Did a big cleanup. Sorted my yarns, fabrics and other bites and pieces. Hope you all had a good w/end crafting. I spend Saturday cleaning up outside.Be a good feeling when its under control again. Poppyeye so pleased you rang up. Next time turn your outisde lights on and others around inside. They will take off as they donot want to be seen.. Hope everyone enjoys their day and can have time out for some crafting. sunflowers28 - 2019-08-12 08:23:00 |
| Morning everyone. Yep I rang the police and got a gentle telling off.. If it happens again Im to ring 111... Its odd cos in the other house I never hesitated... But it has been lodged so all good. We had the storm last night , and we are thinking that probably curtailed anyone doing anything suspicious last night. Its a tad chilly this morning, although it was warm enough to throw my double thickness blanket I knitted a few years ago. I am creaky today but pleased with the work I got done yesterday. This morning I will vaccum, and then if Im ok Ill tidy the craft room a bit so I can cutout and make the black curtains. we should hear from the OT people about bring MrPs new gear out today..They were meant to ring on Thursday but havent. I should rattle the daggs... Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2019-08-12 08:56:00 |
| Morning ladies, I was pleasantly surprised at my sales at the market on Saturday, and though yesterday wasn't quite so good, it was still worth going. The weather wasn't very kind and both days we had a jazz band playing right outside the hall for an hour or so. The first lot were okay but deafeningly loud, the ones yesterday were better and not quite so loud. I believe the jazz festival was a success. Everyone who came into the hall said they were enjoying it. Going to have a bit of a tidy up today, had hoped to do some gardening but it's not very warm and quite windy so might delay that idea for a while. I will try to do some sewing I think. Have to take the car for a wof this week or next at the latest, and it needs registering. Power bill and the mooring fees to the council are due so an expensive month. Might have to throw a party for my birthday to take my mind off things! Things to do, so I had better get on with it. Have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2019-08-12 10:32:00 |
| morning ladies :) Another cold day here although according to the weather gurus we are in for fine weather Friday. My uncle texted me last night saying they were in the middle of a 6.3 earthquake but that has been downgraded to 5.5 I see. Everyone is fine. The Furry One is stalking rabbits, we have five now. Sigh... spotted one munching on the vegies this morning. Ouch for the expensive month, kuaka. Our rates are paid fornightly so we are in credit but I'm dreading the power bill. Might put some extra $$$ onto our power account. We pay that fortnightly too. I only need eleven more pattern repeats and I can sew the throw together and it's finished. Shouldn't take me long to do, especially as I can't get outside as much with this wet weather. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-13 08:15:00 |
| Morning everyone The Furry one might be fat by the end of winter Kiwimade lol... Does your sisters dog stalk them too? The OT lady arrived yesterday with MrPs extra bits, they have put some cool and much safer feet under the couch, and they use this dinky little hydarualick lifter.. Saves their backs.. Im out of action today butIve had 3 busy days in a row so it was expected to hit. So a Day infront of the Hotty painting for me. Ill get MrP to put some cream on my back, It smells very strongly so I always wait until he has eaten his breakfast and had his coffee so he doesnt have the smell at his nose lol. Have an awesome day everyone. popeye333 - 2019-08-13 08:57:00 |
| Morning ladies, I'm thinking that assuming the car gets its wof - I've booked it in for Friday - then I won't register it for a year this time and at least the registration won't be due then at the same time as the wof and mooring fees next year (although I'm hoping to have rid of the boat and the mooring by this time next year - but can't guarantee that) Need to do some gardening and clean the car but it is blowing a gale so will be freezing outside, so think I'll go and have a haircut instead. Mah jong this afternoon. Better get cracking. I haven't even had breakfast yet. Have a super day everyone. kuaka - 2019-08-13 11:09:00 |
| Morning everyone Looks like another crappy weather day.. I thought Id never say that lol.. But it would be nice to have it fine enough without the cold wind to be able to enjoy it . lol And yep you can remind me that when Im moaning about summer lol. Hope Your furry one is winning his war Kiwimade.. Years ago we had a huge walk in Avairy and we kept guinea pigs in the bottom to keep the grass down.. I swear those guineas tormented our two foxies... they would let the dogs think they were getting close before scuttleing acorss to the other side or sitting dead still in the middle so the dogs went hurtling around the whole avairy.. Kept them fit,, but it was like you could see the guineas laughing at them lol MrP is still in bed so Im going to have a play on here and then paint if he isnt up.. I know he has trouble sleeping so I wont make noise to disturb him.. I realised a few days ago, last year I did dish clothes and hanging handtowels for all my Sister friends, and never got around to making any for me.. So once Ive finished making curtains I will be picking up my knitting needles again.. If I can figure out which crate has the cotton in lol.. Have a fab day all Edited by popeye333 at 9:07 am, Wed 14 Aug popeye333 - 2019-08-14 09:05:00 |
| Good morning ladies. The weather was not as bad as it was reporting. Late afernoon early evening the winds got up and some rain.Clear and sun is coming out from teh clouds. Still no knitting,so got out a jigsaw and started it. Some of friends are the same not knitting or sewing either. Hope you get your car WOF Kuaku. It's pain when everything comes at once. Good to hear you are enjoying your painting Popeye. sunflowers28 - 2019-08-14 09:11:00 |
| morning ladies :) omg sunflowers, good on you calling the police. They do come quickly when it's something like that. Five little bunnies on the lawn and the Furry One is having fun stalking them. The Fluffy One is here too for a few days (last visit for a while) but she is such a 'townie' lol... just charges at them so they scatter. You can see how pi**** off the Furry One is lol. And yes, when he catches them, he eats them so no need to feed him for a day (or two, depending on the rabbit's size). Our old cat used to sit on the fence post where the rabbits came out and pounce on them. She was a smart hunter. Four more pattern repeats and I'll be finished this throw. So sometime this evening or tomorrow. Popeye, I've posted those bead/diamond things to you today, sorry it's taken a while but it's been to wet and miserable to go into town. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-14 11:50:00 |
| Afternoon ladies, well it would be no good calling the cops here if there was anyone prowling, because our cop shop is only manned occasionally and not at night except over the Christmas/New Year period if we're lucky. I sleep upstairs, so it would be a case of yelling out and telling "someone" to quickly get the gun and hope that the intruder scarpers. Windy here again today with frequent showers and sunshine in between. Lots of rainbows. Roll on summer. I've really had enough of winter. I need to bring in more firewood as soon as the rain stops. I did an order from Skeinz a couple of days ago, but they've put my PO Box on the parcel instead of my street address and NZ Couriers don't deliver to PO Boxes so it's on it's way back to Whangarei. I think they always used Courier Post before who do deliver to PO Boxes. Anyway I've phoned NZ Couriers and they are going to re-address my parcel and I hope to get it tomorrow. What a pain. This afternoon I plan to do a few things ready for the next craft market, and slowly start working through the list of things I wanted to make during the winter but didn't get done. Then when the weather improves I want to get stuck into the garden and tidy it up. Have a super afternoon/evening everyone. kuaka - 2019-08-14 13:04:00 |
| morning ladies :) Finally, a fine day! No wind either so perfect for spraying the moss and a few weeds. My sister moves into her new home today so she has struck it lucky weather wise too. I finished the throw last night, it's a bit small but there is lots of 'stretch' so it should be OK. It's on a bed anyway so no biggie. The two dogs are playing well, our boy is trying to entice the Fluffy One. She threw up overnight (oh yay, look what I found on the carpet this morning!) so isn't wanting to play yet. Will keep an eye on her today. Not sure what I'll be crafting next, my fingers are a bit achy from all the knitting so must be out of practise! Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2019-08-15 08:12:00 |
