| re1450. Addresses on FDC's. I'd not worry at all about addresses on FDC's. I have never ever heard of a problem with this as buyers are collectors and not that sort of people. If your FDC's are addressed then I'd guess they are of many years ago and as the average Kiwi person shifts every 7 years the chances of details over say 20 years old still being current are minimal. Anyway name and address are always available to anyone on the electoral roll and often in phonebook or on line white pages. relax. kiwisteven - 2009-07-08 23:19:00 |
| thanks for that I thought I was being a bit "precious" but was wondering about it. skydancing - 2009-07-09 08:56:00 |
| 1448 Thanks Stak. Most of the stamps have been torn off envelopes. Should I check these too before soaking them off? grongy - 2009-07-09 10:10:00 |
| 1448 stamps on paper Even if the stamps are off the envelopes there may be some good postmarks. A stamp of little value in itself could be worth a lot more if it has a high value postmark. You might want to check if there are full or legible postmarks and not soak these ones. There is a great postmark catalogue compiled by Richard Wooders, maybe it's available from a library. Other people on here may have some more advice for you too. stak - 2009-07-09 10:42:00 |

| Croxley Mail Stamps I first knew about these stamps being released a few weeks ago. Official first day was July 1st and are being sold at OfficeMax, Whitcoulls and Warehouse stationery. Croxley have also producing Prepaid envelopes in various sizes. SO in total 1 self adhesive box of 100 50c stamps, and 3 different booklets so far. I like the design, its different and gives NZ Post a run for there money. matt_in_the_hat - 2009-07-10 19:56:00 |
| re 1460. Croxley Mail Stamps There are three different 50 cent designs (2 from the box of 100) a $1 and a $1.50 design. I have the 50 cent stamps postmarked 26 June which is the earliest day of use in Christchurch and the $1 and $1.50 values on the 30th June. kiwisteven - 2009-07-10 23:35:00 |

| Anyone know anything about this 1s used mint rarity - 229473276 ;-) tmg - 2009-07-13 04:14:00 |
| used mint rarity Yes it is .Highly sort after by the African Pygmy tribes as Toilet paper, nice and small ,easily carried in the bush and the minty used type is soft on their very small buttocks. The perferations help with the stubborn ones.Clearly an untapped market that someone is finally taking advantage of!!!!!!!! rebel58 - 2009-07-13 11:49:00 |
| used mint rarity? More commonly sold in bundles of One Hundred bound up with cotton or wool. When undone the Pygmys use the cotton for Dental Floss and the wool for knitting small carry bags for the toilet paper. This size is perfect ,not to large and not to small. The larger size High values 2/6d,3/-,5/-,10/- are also highly valued buy the women of the tribe as sanitry pads.If you require any further information you may require on the subject rebel58 - 2009-07-13 12:02:00 |
| used mint rarity? just drink a bottle of Scotch and make it up your self. rebel58 - 2009-07-13 12:04:00 |

| CALs Other than Appendix C in Campbell Paterson Catalogue where else can one find a listing of CALs and their CV's? rolyrj - 2009-07-13 18:33:00 |
| Cals Re 1496. I am sure that there are many cal collectors out there with a list of cals but not the CV. I have a very basic listing. If you would like a copy, let me know. teddybearlover - 2009-07-13 18:52:00 |

| Cal's values The Len Jury catalogue has some Cal CV's listed from 2004 to 2007. Mainly stamp exhibition cal values though.Expired auctions in trademe might give you an idea of prices too. willy_hunt - 2009-07-14 09:36:00 |
| Lucky As collectors, we are really lucky to have the chance to bid and hopefully get such rarities as have been offered lately in #229476980 and the even more elusive #229471689 [I know most of us have the more common brown one but the chance to get the green one.....]. We are lucky. warm3 - 2009-07-14 11:57:00 |
| Lucky Hi Tony the decimals are to slick for the Pygmy's to use as toilet paper so clearly a rip off. rebel58 - 2009-07-14 16:26:00 |
| Hi all I inherated a heap of stamps, Now would I be best to keep these sell on here or take to dealer. I have no knowledge of stamps and there isn't enough hours in my day to learn. I get lost just looking at them all lol madmartz - 2009-07-14 20:57:00 |
| #229411997 - Forgery??!!! Check this one out. To me it looks like the overprint is printed over the postmark. Also if you compare it to #228685659, to my eyes it appears that the lettering is somewhat blurred, particularly at the base of the "I". Not wishing to cast aspersions on anyone, just seeking the views of others. tull - 2009-07-14 22:38:00 |
| How much difference in price is there normually between stamps that are the same but different colours? IYKWIM?? madmartz - 2009-07-14 23:10:00 |

| re# 1477. #229411997 - Forgery??!!! Looks good to me and a nice impression (of OFFICIAL)showing through the back not broken up by the postmark.I regard this one as genuine.I stand to be corrected. rebel58 - 2009-07-15 14:30:00 |
| 1481 madmartz That 1915 KG 8d Official is one of the rarer ones to get.....If Your one is Unused,Green with 9d and Official on it is worth about a third of that 8d one.A stamp is worth top dollar if it has clean gum,no brown tone spots on the front or back,no missing perfs etc....However If your green official stamp is a Halfpenny one,it is only worth a couple of dollars. willy_hunt - 2009-07-15 14:45:00 |
| re 1479 tmg Dont be bloody silly I was referring to the little known Omwagii Tribe who live in the desert. The green ones stand out like a charging Bull Elephant in the desert. And any self respecting pygmy uses the leaves as Toilet paper in the Jungle.Got to go time for another bottle of Scotch. rebel58 - 2009-07-15 14:48:00 |
| cool thanks how accuarate is this site for prices? http://completestamp.co.nz/ TIA madmartz - 2009-07-15 14:55:00 |
| and if the stamps have been used (have postage mark on them) they are worthless? TIA madmartz - 2009-07-15 14:56:00 |
| 1485 Hi madmartz. There will be many stamp dealer sites you can look at and they will give you full retail prices to buy from a reputable dealer. On trademe stamps can sell much cheaper than retail, but you must be accurate in your descriptions or questions depending if you are a buyer or seller.Used Stamps have a huge collector following, for the town, the date etc of when they were used, so long as they are nice condition & not torn. willy_hunt - 2009-07-15 15:11:00 |
| Ty... Last Q for now promise - If I was to try and sell some would I do so on here or take to stamp dealer? As I know next to nothing I would list at $1 reserve but dont want to rip my self off. Thanks madmartz - 2009-07-15 15:28:00 |
| madmartz Do your self a favor ,spend $10.00 and get an ACS Catalog or Len Jury Cat it will pay for itself in the end, when finished auction it off as well.Stamp dealer only for Quick money. rebel58 - 2009-07-15 15:47:00 |

| As a child in the 1970s we use to collect stamps in our stamp albums. I have no idea if any of them are worth anything. If anyone wants me to look for a stamp that may be in the album let me know. It was one of those A4 books that you collected stamps from different countries. mysticbreeze - 2009-07-18 15:15:00 |
