love the recipe part. love passing on good recipes and hints to others, but most of all, reading what other people have made. my recipe book is now overflowing.
there are so many nice cooking people out there, and haveing just had a BIG birthday, we are never too old to learn new ideas.

one day I will sit down and tidy up my recipe books..

I may not post an awful lot in here but I am a constant "lurker" ..
and a habitual printer of recipes that are posted , hence the need for a big tidy up. Bits of paper for africa here..lol

It was going to be one of my winter projects but other things got in my way and now the cows have started calving..lol

I was just thinking.. Jenna68 and Bev00, and others, have been long-time posters and 'bumpers' for numerous threads to keep them safe before Trademe changed the messageboards so that threads last longer.. they kept many a thread safe from dropping off and being lost..

Morning Lovely ladies & Gentlemen,

Lets keep this thread in the spirit it was intended...

Just come back from my mornings walk, Its going to be a stunning day, i can tell that by the inch of frost on everyones cars and the twinkling stars when i started out (5.50am). Off for a shower then a whole day chilling with my girls. Was given a Spa Voucher when i left my last job and bless them they are going to let me split it 3 ways... so we are off to be "mini" beautified... then we will get some chick flicks from the DVD Store (decided it was way cheaper than the movies) then will probably get our favourite treat lunch from the supermarket.... fresh bread, hot chicken, coleslaw & S&V chips.... much cheaper than eating out... and hubby is working locally so can come home and share it with us... a rare treat for us.... Life is good.

So have a great day one and all.

Morning toady - what a lovely day you have planned! Happy pampering!!!
I'm off to Nelson for an ACC appointment regarding my hand but thankfully it's not till after lunch as the Takaka Hill will be very icy. I'm staying 30 meters from the beach & everything is white here!
Even the lawn - right to the edge of the sand!!! Brrr!!! Good training for me to cope with Christchurch temperatures!

Sorry to hear about your friend Pam. It leaves an awful hole doesn't it. Think about the happy times, the girly giggles and the "omigosh, did we do that?" times.

Take a wee break if you must Charlieb2 but please don't say "bye". Starting this thread was great and has given much plesure as a reintroduction to so many. It was good to hear what the Recipe thread mean't to people apart from the actual recipes.

Good Morning All, the first recipe I made off the message board was rkcrofts date and walnut loaf - and it has become a favourite. I for one gave up posting because everyone was sniping at each other and really I was over that. But lovely to see a nice friendly thread again. Have a nice day all. Sorry to hear about your friend cooks.

Don't disappear charlie2, just take a break sadly theres 2-3 posters now on here that seem to thrive on stirring and then watching the action in a few threads these days, as this place grows. So good to see all the old posters still here.

HELLO!!! to everyone that I've spoken to, met in person, deliberated with, and shared recipes and ideas with.

I obviously need to come here more often as I seem to always be missing out on all the action. Hope the school holidays are treating everyone well and that the weather has been kind.

Be kind to each other and strive to be happy.

Good morning lovelys ...
only 5 more mornings for me in Golden Bay before I become a city slicker. I'm sitting in bed enjoying a cuppa & the sound of the waves on the beach 30 meters away .... soon that will be traffic!
All good though - I'm very excited about the next chapter in my life ... and the next, and the next....
Life is so short - and so precious - make the most of your day, smile ... & don't sweat the small stuff!

Not the best time to shift to Christchurch Winnie while we're so soggy and grey but spring will be here soon and Christchurch in spring is beautiful (not biassed at all after a lifetime here!). All the best for your move.

Thanks for the good wishes ... there are things I'll miss - but they'll still be there.
I'm looking forward to the good things in life ... that I don't even know are coming my way yet!

And fisher - will do. Must get another sauce underway ... once I have a kitchen again haha. Been collecting little jars for making mustard too.

When I first discovered TM recipes(disyq-username) it was so nice to meet likeminded people. I used to read Pericles bar and laugh at the all the antics..sooo funny! Think DH thought I was a bit nuts laughing at a computer screen. Everyone shared the good (and sad) happenings in their life..much like is happening in this thread and posters became friends..Winnie tried to organise a CHCH picnic butsadly it didn't happen. Best of luck winnie on your new venture.Had a wee break from TM but its great to see familiar people riding out the little storm that has hit our friendly "recipes"
Thank you all for sharing your recipes and hints and for cyber friendships..cheers Di

Hi Di - I'm determined to meet some fellow cookies this time round in Chch ....

Hi Julie ... my hand still gives me grief but I can live with it ... hopefully doing the Diploma in Chch will open new doors.
X-ray & next surgeon's appt in Sept - whatever the outcome, I'll get on with my studies ... one handed if need be!!! :) I don't want any more surgical intervention at this stage.

Hope all's well with you up there ... love the photo on your profile - your front garden?
I could make a nice tour through the North Is one day ... via Pam in the Wairarapa, on to you in the Bay, up to Toady or one of the other Ak crew, then on to put my feet up at Fisher's for a day or 2!!!
I know I'd eat well on my trip :)
