My friend has kindly shared her horrible cough / cold with me... the Tart lol...I text her and said, Thanks for your free Gift.. Not Lol... cos we like cryptic,,, she will probably reply with.. Sharing is caring lol..

Morning everyone.

What a big day yesterday...

We ended up chosing a Nissan Tiida Sedan... Heaps of room for MrP's walker and the groceries, more than the Rav has. Its an 1800CC motor, automatic and goes like a dream.
Its gold well we call it more a champagne colour... We gain 11 years and 80,000kms... And we pick her up on Monday.

Went well at the Clinic, no cancer or pre cancer and a mirena to sort the bleeding.. YAYAY.
And while we were waiting there we got some other good news, which I cant share yet, but its awesome and made us soo happy..

Parked the Rav in the garage when we got home.. the first time.. Its soo good that we can get in and out of the car without getting wet...

Had to go hunting for the seed cake this morning.. A dog must have found it, its licked smooth lol.. I hope the dog doesnt get an upset tummy, but these things happen when you let your dogs roam.. So I have designed a stand to make for the bowl to sit into and ill make a flatform top, but just thinking I might put some dowel perches around the edge too.. Heard the Tuis when I went out to find the bowl.

Shopping this morning.. MrP is staying home, he walked far more than normal yesterday, but I will say I know he is sore but he hasnt snapped or complained.

Have a fantastic day today..

morning ladies :) Lovely news popeye, awesome about your health and a new car will make all the difference.

The Field Days traffic is at it's peak, one more day tomorrow and it's over. Not going anywhere near Cambridge/Hamilton as the queues are horrendous.

I have some spraxias and another clump of mondo grass to dig out of the garden today. The ash from the incinerator has to be emptied onto the compost and there's some general weeding to do as well. Always something to do outside :)

Better move and make a start, it's foggy but I don't mind working in fog. Wrap up warm and all is good.

Crafting later today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
We have fog again too... yesterdays hung around Pukekohe Hill until 1pm that we know of.
Ended up taking Izzy and her Mum with me shopping.. Its nice to have a girlee trip. Izzy is awesome shopping.. She showed me things but never once asked for it or had a meltdown cos she couldnt have it.

We are going to the recycle centre today to find something I can use to make a stand for the seedcake bowl.. Its in its normal place this morning thank goodness. We cant get over how the smaller birds are Not scared of the bigger ones down here, they certainly dont make way for the bigger ones.

Ok Gardening ladies,, is it harmfull to Yukkas to cut off some leaves or cut the leaves back a little? There are some at adult eye level and some at Izzys level.. Those points are sharp as. I dont want to damamge the plants or eyes.

Have a good day everyone. Stay warm

Good Morning Ladies.Rain,rain..for the last few days.No gardening at present. The oranges are starting colour up now. Juiceed ones that fall onto the the ground last few days.
Sewing group started up about 3/4 weeks ago and they asked if I can help out the tutor.8-10 turnup. Local Polytec has given everything they need for the class. Using net curtains they are making bags for their fruit and vegies today.
Fingers crossed that I get a call to say xrays are ok.My right hand since the fall is not been good.
You'll be pleased to see the end of The Field Days traffic Kiwimade. Wet again! Need to finish off some gardening beds. Wait till it dries out again.

You must feel on top of the world Popeye. New car to get around. Settled into a new house. Sounds a lovely place and area.

Time to move coffee break over and I need to make a couple of calls. Rain stopped for now.
Happy crafting everyone.

Evening ladies, what a traumatic week I've had - talk about a roller coaster, which is why I haven't been posting for a few days.

Well I had the weekend to myself as the family again went to Auckland and I sat and pondered just how much longer they intended to stay. Their house was supposed to be auctioned on Saturday but he cancelled it because he said there wasn't enough interest - and I suspect because he wants too much for it or it would have sold months ago. So on Sunday evening I said "I'm calling a family meeting", so they all sat there and listened to what I had to say. I started by saying that I appreciate everything that he has done for me, but they've been here long enough, they need to get on with their lives and I need to get on with mine and I need my space back - and you can ask questions or comment when I've finished but I am going to have my say and what I am going to say is NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION! The wife and son sat there looking like stunned mullets. I started by saying that there are chores that I need help with, like vacuuming carpets, sweeping washing floors, sweeping the stairs, cleaning windows, and if you use the hob you must clean it afterwards. I mentioned the fact that we are almost out of internet data (they've used over 2000GB since they've been here - which was accumulated and what I've got each month since they moved in) and I said I am not changing my plan to unlimited because I don't need it, I will only change my plan to save money. Then I said that if they intend to stay any longer they have to start paying rent - and before I could say how much or mention they need to pay half the power bill - he said "we will be gone by the end of the week even if we have to live in a cabin in a camping ground". I think it's called cutting off your nose to spite your face.

So she said "you only had to ask if you needed help" and I replied that I shouldn't have to ask, you're staying in my home and you should come and ask me what you can do to help - and I reminded them that I am 71 in a couple of months and shouldn't be expected to do everything. I wanted to add "while you and the boy sit and do nothing but use my data up" but I bit my tongue.

Course that went down like a lead balloon. So next day I didn't see anything of them until we passed on the stairs as they were coming in and I was going out. I went to the club, played snooker and had a couple of glasses of wine, then called at a friends and ended up staying for tea and a couple more drinks and stayed the night. When I got home just after 10 the next morning they had gone - cleared out everything - even taken the chicken salt off the table, a bag of rice and a bag of kumara (all of which they had bought!)

He sent me a text and said she had washed all the bed linen and vacuumed the floor - that's only the second time she has done the vacuuming since they moved in last October.

So I have been slowly winding down, as I was wound up like a spring. It is soooooooooo good to have my house back. I am really disappointed in the way they have been of late, and I fear that the nice friendly relationship that I had with him is well and truly ruined now.

Oh well. Moving on.

I hope everyone has been well and been busy crafting.

Wow Kuaka.. Im soo pleased you told them.

Users is the name I would give them... And thats no way to treat you...

It might end up quiet but at least you wont have all the extra work, expense and you will only have to please yourself again.

Well done on being soo brave and telling them...

morning ladies :) wow kuaka!! Good on you :) That was an extremely hard thing to do. They were users, living for free with someone and not helping? That's just plain rude. Obviously they did have somewhere else to go or they would still be there. And no apology, offer to pay some of the power bill before they left? Have another glass of wine and count yourself lucky they have gone.

Sunflowers, my produce bags are made out of net curtains. The bags I made around two years ago are still going strong.

I mowed the lawn yesterday, probably could have gotten away with a few more days but getting rid of the clippings is an issue so I mow often and then it is only small amounts of clippings in the bins.

Last day for Field Days! Traffic flows by at 5.30am and eases off around morning tea time. We didn't go this year, too wet and too many people.

Housework then I'm going to tackle that mondo grass again. It's going to take a few days to dig it out but I'll get there.

Crafting later this afternoon.

Happy knitting :)

Edited to add, trim the yukkas popeye! Can you tell I'm not a fan of them lol. Seriously though, if they are a danger, just cut them back. Plants are tougher than we think.

Morning everyone
Yeah I agree Kiwimade, I think Kuaka did a brave thing.. and if it had got nasty and I was in her situation I wouldnt hesitate to ring the police.

Amazing how the field days are still going and increasing each year.. I always question the timing.. Yes most of the cows will be dry and before calving etc.. But surely summer would be better, and the hay can stand for another day or 3.

I have to duck up to the library to print some stuff off ,Im seriously thinking I need to get one of my own again.

Washing in the dryer and washing machine, dishwasher is loaded.. I finally found a short wash cycle. And Ill take everything out of the car today or tomorrow.

Have a fab day everyone...

Ohh and Kiwimade Im not fond of Yukkas either, and MrP doesnt have fond memories of them either.. I will be taking the dangerous leaves off.. And as soon as any sign of flowers comes in, they will be hacked out... My nose will thank me lol

Morning ladies,

Yes, it is lovely to have my house back. I got sick of them calling each other "mama" and "dada" and the nearly 6ft tall 15 year old calls them mama and dada. I was cheesed off when they came back from Auckland several times and he proudly announced that the boy had mowed the lawns and cleaned his 4wd but all he could do at my place was sit on his bum using my internet data. And then dada had the cheek to tell me I need to change to "unlimited" data when I only use about a gig a day on average.

I've not heard a squeak since they left on Tuesday morning.

This will make you laugh. I worked at the op shop Thursday afternoon for a friend, 1 till 4. Got there 15 minutes early and it was busy so the time flew. I looked at my phone without my specs on and said to my co-worker "Jesus, it's 10 to, time to shut up shop" so we brought the signs in and the chairs that were outside, did the banking, turned off the lights and locked up and when I got home I looked at the clock and thought "bugger I've only just put a new battery in that and it's stopped already" then I looked at the other clock, and the microwave and it was only 3.30. Oops.

Right, well we are having a wine and pizza get together at the op shop today to thank the volunteers, and I want to try to get my hair cut this morning. Might go to the club to play mah jong this afternoon, and this evening I'm going to a friends for tea and I'm going to put a colour in her hair. Last time I did it for her, another friend called her on video and said what on earth is Carol doing? I said "I'm looking for nits" and we all had a good laugh.

Have a super day everyone.

Ohh Kuaka Mumma and dadda... lol.. I have a friend who is 54 and when speaking about her father its Daddy... She seems to forget her age .

Soo pleased you are enjoying the peace.

Lol at shutting the shop early... Reminded me of a time I was with the grand daughter of people that my stepfather knew, who were camping on Jimmys farm. We went riding the horse, and it got really dark, so we thought we would save him a trip and got the cows in for milking... It was only just after 1pm... he thanked us, told us not to do it again and milked them.. the cows were not in the best of moods lol

Took an hour to get 5 pages printed at the library, the machine was having a hissy fit. So we just got back from Pukekohe, got a new one.. But theres something wrong with paying $29 for a print scan and copy machine and then paying $30 for the inks each lol..

Lunch and a play, then Im going to clean the car out

14915

morning ladies :) omg, mama and dada? Oh well, each to their own. And the blimmen cheek of them to brag the son mowed the lawns. They could have at least kept their mouths shut.

Our scanner was a 'cheapie' too popeye and does everything we need it too. It doesn't connect to wireless but I don't care. One less thing to go wrong as MrK would say. It is crazy that ink is dearer than the printer. I think it encourages a throw away society.

Still plodding away on the cloth, am getting fed up with it but will keep going. I hate leaving things unfinished.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Yep it is crazy Kiwimade.. I dont do alot of printing but there are times when you need it.. And yeah this one isnt wireless either, but I use a lappy so I can just take it to the printer. One less thing in the lounge ..

Sold our hedge trimmer last night. To a lady we know, but I dont think she has clicked who I am, cos she only knows us as Su and Dave but I use my full first name on FB lol.. One less thing in the garage and useless when you dont have a hedge.

All Im doing today is folding some washing and cleaning out Rolys cage then vacuum the mess up that that will make.. Ill give him a bunch of greens too ive been eyeing up the growth of one little plant in a pot lol.

Im over knitting Kiwimade, I just cant get enthusiastic about it at the mo. So I hope to start a diamond painting later.

Then Ill finaly be able to slip into winter mode and catch up on some energy lol...

morning ladies :) It's supposed to be fine today so three loads of washing out. The proof is in the pudding I guess lol.

The honey bees drank a whole mason jar of sugar water yesterday! Amazing I haven't been stung while taking away the empty jar and putting back the full one. The hives are on the farm next door, I might set the odometer on the car and see what the distance is roughly they fly each day to the water.

I think we need to have a DVS system set up. Will be the next thing we save for after the gas has been sorted. The windows were soaking wet this morning.

Arrgg mixing knitting and crochet doesn't always work out flick, but I'm sure you will figure it all out. Maybe change your hook size or reducing/increasing the amount of stitches.

I'm getting over knitting too popeye, so am doing embroidery to mix things up a bit. So much to learn!

Happy knitting :)

A big day yesterday, but the echo was done and I drove home our new Car.. Very new and fresh. Takes off alot faster than the Rav and being that it was school leaving time, I soon got used to the breaks. I checked what the rego is for a year and its only $99-02 compared to $158 for the Rav.. a big difference.
A very quiet day booked today, but I have to whip up for some bikkies for Missy, she is eating more now, which is good shes always been soo slim. Starting to get the pouch from being fixed years ago lol.

Another big day tomorrow, but itwill all be good happy stuff.

MrP and I have been together 30 years today..

Have a fab day everyone.

Yes,your road would be busy last week with everyonegoing to the show. It takes time to cut and cleanup the gardens for winter. Still have alot to go. Fingers crossed that my lawn mowing guy makes it today to finish clearing the back garden.
Good on you Kuaka having that talk with your son. Sometimes it good to clear the air. Hope one day you will both be able to enjoy each others company.
The sun is out and day is starting to warm up. Everything was white here still at 8am. Off to the gym this afternoom. Have to finish some paper work today. A meeting with my bank this week. It has taken up alot of my time. Must move and have a walk around the section before I get back to the paperwork.

Hi everyone ..wow i haven't been on here in ages my mum has been in hospital 5 times since 14th March and different illnesses each time, on the 4th visit we didn't think she was going to come out of that illness, our mum is like a cat with 9 lives. Today I took her to craft she hadn't been for months and everyone was so pleased to see her. Every morning when i come downstairs i check to see if she is still breathing and i have a sigh of relief and think to myself there's another day, and we are so grateful. Im going to my very first wool feast in Christchurch this Saturday with my sister and my good friend, my hubby said he will look after mum for us. we would have loved to take her but apparently, 1000's of people go and there's no room for wheelchairs. Im a little nervous coz i hate crowds but im hoping the buying of wool will sort me out lol. Iwill post after trip to the wool feast and let ypu all know how it was, im am really wxcited aswell as nervous.

Have an amazing rest of today

Hi All

Our day out today was to be witnesses for Izzys parents who got married today. The service itself was very short and sweet, but theyarent the right sort of people to have a big flash white wedding etc.

Then we had lunch at the Fortuna Buffet is Sky City. We all enjoyed it, and it meant I had many options to chose from..
It started very cold today but was a beautful sunny day to be travelling, with Izzy one of her btoehrs and her mum all nodding off on the way home lol

morning ladies :) Nice to 'see' you again 10ofus, I hope you enjoyed the woolfest. What a stressful few months you have had.

aww popeye, lovely you both could be witnesses :)

The frost has cleared and the rain clouds are on the way. We have had a stunning few days, don't mind the frosts if we have beautiful, clear, calm days like the last two.

I have a couple of bills to pay in town - both the Furry One's lol. Asked him if he had $$$ tucked away to pay the vet and his registration lol. The vet I can pay online but seeing as they are pretty much opposite the council where I pay his registration, might as well pop in and pay. And he needs more epilepsy meds too.

I have some stock flowers to plant, picked them up cheaply at Pak n Save of all places. Then crafting this afternoon maybe. The Fluffy One is back so heaven knows how knitting or embroidery will go.

Happy knitting :)

Its sure been a busy 9 days.. And out again today to pick up sausages, the butcher wouldnt get them done until the afternoon yesterday.

Then I am staying home... Ive been "putting down" rather than putting away and its driving me crazy.

45 years today since my father died.. Hes been dead longer than he was alive.

Theres a big garage sale in town this weekend raising funds for a little boy Reid who needs leg surgery that he can only get in USA, so Ill drop some stuff off at the hall for them.

It is warmer which is nice.... Ohh I discovered the lowest temp the car cooling will go to is 18 degrees, thats a nice day temp, but I like colder air in the car. Will have to use the air con in the summer for sure.

Have a fab day everyone

Afternoon ladies, I worked at the op shop again yesterday and was amused/annoyed to see my friends name on the roster for the afternoon in place of mine, and seeing as she gave them two months notice that she couldn't do it (she's in Australia) I think it's a bit rich. I worked on Monday afternoon as a lady was sick and was given a hard time about packing up early the week before. I said "it was a mistake - we all make them - get over it". Then a bit later another dig about it, so I said I would like to know who does the rosters, I'd like to know who rostered me on for the one day I had said I wasn't available. I'm just about over it. All I seem to do is complain at the moment, and that's not like me. I'll do the next few shifts for my friend then I think I'll come off the relieving list. Too much bitching going on down there.

Didn't sleep well last night, woke at 3am and didn't doze off again until after 6 so today it's taken me all morning to wake up. I feel like a piece of chewed string at the moment.

At least I don't have to cook tea tonight as I did a beef casserole in the slow cooker yesterday and there's plenty left for tonight and tomorrow night and I did enough mashed potatoes last night for tonight, so I just need to reheat it and cook some broccoli. Easy.

Right, going to try to list a few things now.

Have a super day everyone.

A foggy chilly start too.. Its very quiet at the mo.. It doesnt get noisy but it just feels like the world has been put on Mute lol

My body is saying NO.. but my head wants to do things today.. So Ill limit myself and still feel pleased that Ive got somthing done. Had pain meds at 5am, so im feeling midly ok lol

I miss crafting and baking, so Im going to try and get something of both done today..I figure scones can be the first try in the oven , not expensive ingredients if they flop and they can always have spaghetti and cheese thrown on top and grilled if theyre not that flash lol...
And I want to try and start the diamond painting later.

Stay warm everyone

Hi everyone...thanks kiwimade yes its been very stressful..i had an awesome time at the woolfest today there were loads of people there.I spent $150 and was so happy with my purchases. I bought 1kg 1ply knitting machine yarn for $10 per cone, il add other yarn to it since it was only 1ply..there was lots of hank wool, i didn't buy any of that, but I did buy lots of boucle alpaca yarn which was so cheap i thought for $5 per 50grm and some 20grm ball for $3.50. I thought that would be good for adding stripes to baby and toddlers hats. Next year we are going again. It was so awesome i could of spent tripple of the amount lol. Ive started knitting a wee hat in a sage green colour, i have many projects on the go at once and im starting too fill my collection back up of baby knitting..if i didn't have to sleep id knit all day..righty ho i must get to bed had a big day today with the 5 grandkiddies over and some of our children was a fab day all round and watched 3 of our boys play rugby.

morning ladies :) Yesterday we bought a new mattress for our bed, well overdue. We didn't need the base as it's a slat bed. Furniture Zone have a huge sale on so thought it was time for action and buy one. We've been talking about it for years and 70% off wasn't to be sneezed at. Our backs are going to thank us :D

The garden is mostly weeded, the worst of it is done and the rest can wait until I prune the roses next month. Always something needs doing :)

It looks like we are in for a lot of rain today so a good day for crafting. Am pleased I got done what I did outside yesterday now.

Washing machine has finished, better sort that out. Life seems to be regulated by household beeps lol.

Happy knitting :)

Glad you had a nice time at the woolfest 10ofus... Ive never been to one of those.. but as I mainly work in crylic its probably not something Id need to go to lol.
Yup Kiwimade your backs will thank you. Im wondering if my bed is the cause of my pain, but its soo dam comfy I dont want to change.

Well yesterday I took the bull by the horns and had a play in the oven.. I managed to find Fan Bake, lets face it, that wasnt hard lol.. But I guessed the temp dial and Made Yummy cheese scones for lunch.. Depending on if Izzys parents are free today will depend on when I make a banan cake, either today or tomorrow.

I also started the diamond painting.. Ohh Im soo pleased I ordered a back light , from the start. I would struggle otherwise. I am enjoying it.. Butflipping through bags of beads annoys me so I ordered some containers much like Tic Tac containers for storage.. I know three of us doing them and we all have different types of storage coming from china lol.

My Beep should be going off soon, the first load of washing lol... Will throw it in the dryer and do probably 2-3 more loads.

Perfect day for crafting, which I will make time for later

Morning everyone
Sounds like a blissfull day for you 10ofus.

I did the washing, rubbish and spent a few hours sorting the last stuff that was packed and dumped in the craft room in readyness for the table. Got MrP on the lemon squeezer and put lemon and orange juice into the freezer. Was pretty weary by teatime, but I enjoyed myself.

I was planning on baking but that didnt happen lol..

Today Ill vacuum, hopefullylol.. Ill see how I am once the pills have kicked in.. Ohh it was nice to go to a warm bed... we both got quite warm through the night tho.. MrP is still in bed catching up on some sleep he missed.

So a quiet one here with no TV blasting away lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. What a weekend. Saturday was sunny and warm so spend most of the outside.Picked up a bag of oranges off the ground. Need to juice some more and make some lemon and orange peel.
Sunday was a day from hell. House in the street had a party till 4 am in morning and street has broken glass everywhere path, road and on the grass.
Just settled down to do some family emails when the guy returned my sewing machine. Sad news the motor had it. Now I have to look for another machine.
Came back to my computer and it was dead along with my land line phone. Was off for a good 1 hours plus. My cellphone dead on me as I was going to put some money on it as well. Took a quick walk to the store and got a topup. Got back and my friend was waiting for me.
What a start to a new week.

Yesterday was cold and damp. Put a light to fire in afternoon to cheer us up. Did some crafting with my friend and had home made soup a long with fresh bread rolls.
Still waiting to hear if I have to go to Hastings this morning...Popeye you would like the woolfest. They have some great things as well as wool.
Hope everyone well and staying warm. Good day to catch up on some indoors jobs..
Happy crafting everyone.

Good morning ladies..

Tis a chilly one too, Ive got long sleeves on lol.

Had a brilliant day yesterday, I prepped as much as I could for the change around of furnature.. As in uncovered the table of its clutter, so when Izzy and her Mum came around it only took us a few minutes to get the table out and into position in the craft room and to put the couch and my Chair back further..
I think it looks heaps better, the room looks really large now. We have plenty of room for a coffee table , if we wanted one, but Ive never been that keen on having them, just something else to avoid when walking and for MrP that is important.
Before we moved in I got a long mat to cover a bad join in the carpet, the mat now looks small.. I wouldnt mind getting a huge round one to cover the join and a bit more of the carpet instead of a coffee table to break up the mass.
More washing and drying, and I want to vacc the hallway. And then this afternoon Ill do some of my diamond painting, on the table where I have room to spread things out a bit.
Im finally fully content here, and it will be nice to start spending some time in my lovely craft room.

I hope everyone is keeping busy and working on something they love. Be it gardens or craft..

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies from a very cold, wet and windy "winterless north" - hmmm??? Whoever coined that phrase obviously never lived here in the winter!

Had planned to spray weeds and cut down the third plum tree but woke to the sound of heavy rain that idea is squashed. I will do some sewing a bit later and then this afternoon it's mah jong as usual. Will have to be a bit more organised than usual as I'm picking up one of the other ladies and taking her, luckily it's not very far.

I've got the heat pump on but will light the fire when I get home late this afternoon. I'm wishing I had brought more firewood up yesterday but I had a sore back from digging the garden on Sunday. I've got enough for tonight and tomorrow but I like to have enough up here for several days. Oh well. I guess I can bring some more up in the next day or so.

I'm crocheting a "never-ending zinnia" purse for a friend and she wants it bigger than the ones I've done before and in bright yellow and bright orange - my two least liked colours - and I think it's hideous. I'm not enjoying doing it at all. Then she wants a spikey puzzle ball in bright colours. There's no hurry for either of them as they are for Christmas presents. I hope she likes them when I've finished them.

Right, time I did something useful.

Have a super day everyone.

Good MorningLadies, Overcast here ,so a good day to get some insides jobs done before I go out. Picked up some oranges to give to my friend. Not a bad crop this year.

Had some bad news my sewing machine motor is burned out. I was in my first year at High School when my mother got the machine. The Bernina Guy arrived one evening with it .Showed us how it worked etc that night. Up to then we had a Singer. Good work horse. Next day my mother went down to the shop and asked for the Singer Machine to be dropped off at our place. Yes! there was words said that night. Mother got to keep her Singer Machine.
So now have to look out for a another machine.
Off out to lunch today with a group of friends. Hoping to get to Spotlight as well since we are going to Hastings for lunch. While since I have checkedout Spotlight.
Hope you are enjoying your new craft Popeye. Good to hear you are like your new place and having a craft room as well. Hope it's a warm house for you and Mr P.
Kiwmade and kuaka good to hear you both are ok and enjoying your kniting, sewing, crafting.
What would we do if we did not craft?
Time to move now the dishes are calling to be washed. LOL.
Happy crafting everyone and stay warm.

Morning everyone

Condolences on your Loss Sunflowers.. you just about need a computing degree for the new sewing machines these days. Do let us know what you get. Ive had my Janome new Home since 95/96ish.. and its a nice compact machine that just keeps going and going. We lived in our mobile home when I got it and it slipped into a nice safe spot for travelliing and I sewed in many places lol.. Shes sitting next to my overlocker , which is a brother and I was thinking This morning I must have had it 6-7 years now I guess.

When I was about 10ish , Mum took on some home sewing, She had to hem the top of a square of fabric then do a seam down the side. They were to cover the spring in Jack in the boxes. She couldnt stand the repetitveness of it. So I took over.. Im very methodical and loved it. And very proudly earnt enough to buy my basketball boots myself.. I still remember that feeling.. Ended up blowing up mums bright green Huskvana... oops But as mum said it would have done it no matter which of us was doing the sewing.

And I guess that cemented my love of sewing and why I ended up working in three sewing factories.

Im going to bake this morning.. Ill try a banana cake, some peanut blondies and some vanilla biscuits.. All pretty indestrucatable.. I hope.

I sat in my craft room doing some of my picture and the sun was streaming in.. It was lovely and MIssy sat on the table watching.. Shes pretty good and generally knows not to touch. Cos she knows she will get told off if she does. She can sit on my knee while I knit or crochet and she doesnt touch.

Have a fab day everyone... the cold is worth it for the beautiful day

I baked ... Its a very workable kitchen to bake in, Its huge but heaps of room for the cake mixer etc.
I didnt have alot of butter so made some peanut blondies, Vanilla bikkies and Im about to take the banana cake out.. And had I thought soon enough I could have made a chocolate cake cos it doesnt have butter eggs or milk in it.. ohh well next time.

Yay I wont be buying biscuits this week.. really expensive , not as much fun and theyre not even filling..

Daiamanond painting, once Ive finished lunch Yayay

Morning everyone,

We are up early as we are having Izzy today. her parents have another appointment in town so we will steal her and have fun.. Possily will have her older sister too as she had a fight with the jungle Gyms at school, smashed one of her big front teeth out, the other is cememnted in place and chipped another, Split lips and blood everywhere the poor little bugger.Shes most likely more sore today so e will find out who we have when they get here.

Got quite alot of my painting done yesterday... Im doing 30 minutes on the low numbers , as in one beads of a colour and then doing 30 minutes in large areas of the same colour.

I used to love paint by numbers when i was a kid so Im loving doing this , and a nice change from yarn crafts. And not expensive either if you buy from overseas. A poppy picture that Im waiting on is less than the cost of a ball of decent wool.

Have a fab day everyone..

morning ladies :) woahhhh we've had some decent frosts here, -3 yesterday! And fog to top it off lol, so we got the double whammy.

We've been out and about quite a bit lately, I need some at-home time to prune the roses and mow the lawn. Please please please keep the fine weather until the weekend when I can get it all done.

I've been embroidering monograms and am quite pleased with them. Have a few things to stitch them on and am having a practice first. Thank goodness I have a lifetime supply of threads I can use for practicing.

A friend is going to be a granddad for the first time next year so I'll start some baby knitting soon.

Right-o, going to make the most of this sunny day.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
I dont think we had a frost this morning, but we too had frost then fog on top of it yesterday. It was foggy just about all the way to Pukekohe yesterday.. Very short visiability too and stil plonkers without headlights on, including trucks.

Missy and I were in the garage early, I needed to move the timber so I could get into the pantry. Id stacked it all against the pantry so the boys could see what they had to use to lift the couch. Us girls did it ourselves lol...
But I got this cool little crockpot a while ago and have now put a beef casserole on for MrPs next two dinners, hopefully lol.. If its too good it might last till lunchtime tomorrow. Has everything in it, and is very full.

I will have toad in the hole, which I love in the winter. And will put diced potato in that too and then very few dishes.

Ill load the dishwasher this morning, and finally ice the banana cake.

Had our grandie until mid afternoon and we had fun.. Soo long since Ive walked along with a little warm hand in mine.. She didnt want to come into the supermarket so I dashed around there.

Im loving the diamond painting. Oddly Im not missing crochet or knitting.. and I look at the crates of wool thinking.. Arghh how did I get soo much and its not exciting me to get back into it.

Im still waiting on my poppy painting but will ring courier post and the post shop incase it is there. orders Ive placed since will probably beat the poppies here.

Have a fab day everyone and stay warm
