The hospital rang me before I had a chance to ring MrP.

He rolled out of bed this morning. They have these alarm thingees that set off an alarm if someone falls out of bed. Two of the guys in the same room got to him before the nurses did.
He scratched his nose with his watch, and split open the cut he got from a fall in Middlemore. Otherwise he was ok.
Has walked to the toilet, and eaten a nice breakfast.

So I rang him and he said hes ok, just achy. he had been r=dreaming of our friend that died they day he went into hospital. She used to have an Umu in her back yard, and in the dream he was digging her a new bigger one.. and in he fell.

They have told him dr Okpala will be seeing him on monday so hes looking forward to that. hes a fantastic dr.

morning ladies :) How do you squeeze your oranges sunflowers? I bought an old lever action juicer on TM a few years ago as we have access to a massive grapefruit tree and I juice them. I freeze the juice and we drink it over the year until it's time to do it all over again.

ohhh buggar popeye, but at least no broken bones for MrP! They should have the sides up on his bed for him at night time. And good news he is walking. There was a sign up at Waikato Hosp telling how much muscle use is lost if bedridden over different time frames and how important it is for folk to keep moving. I can't remember the exact percentages but it was huge.

Am beavering away on the baby blanket, I estimate it will take about a month to knit. And then I need to either crochet or stitch a cloth for the table before the summer sun hits it. I've decided to put photos of both sets of parents on it. MrK has the only photo of his dad in his army uniform from WW2 (I've scanned it so we have copies) so will find a frame for that.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone'
Ohh Yummm grapefruit juice.. Its the thing I miss the most, but sadly it interferes with medications , as in making some work too much better and some making them not work as good.. And theres no sense me just having one small glass cos that would make it even harder to avoid... Although if I had been given grapefruit juice in hospital I would have drunk it lol.

MrP did have one thing on the side of his bed Kiwimade, those large strong things that they use to get in and out of bed. But they only put that on, just after I left on Friday. But they now have something on both sides... "Horse Gate Bolted" lol but he will be safe now

I think thats a lovely way to honor those that have passed Kiwimade.. Im sure you will find the right covering for it.

I stretched the hall stand I put together yesterday. I really cannot go any further unless I split it in 2. Missy helped.. And then she Helped some more when I played in the crockery cupboard again. lol

Got one dishcloth done yesterday.. And as I really dont have anything to do today I will do some more knitting.. Once I have done the dishcloths I will try and sort out how Im going to do the handtowel hangers. I got some lovely hand towels on friday, so cant wait to try doing them.

Its beautitful here today, a bit on the chilly side tho.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies. I hand juice our oranges and then use a large strainer. I found the juice is not bitter. I make orange marmalade, using Alison Holst metric marmalade recipe. I prepare the fruit in kg lots and make it during the year.
I did not get the oranges juiced yesterday. Ended up calling the Hospice 24-hour service and they came and seen Mr S. His temperature was fever figure. So spend 5 hours at the hospital.

Sorry to hear Mr P fall out of bed. Not sure if applies to hospitals, I know in resthomes and hospital they have to get the ok from family to use the cot
sides.
Ladies, do you take your knitting to the hospital when you visit and if so what do you knit.? I take my book I am reading and a small puzzle book. Mr S sleeps on and off these days. End up leaving the puzzle book for Mr S.
The sun out so I will go out in the garden for a while.
Hope you all have a great day.

morning ladies :) I didn't know that about having to have permission for cot sides sunflowers. Could be why dad never had them.

Finally got to swap the beds over and now our bed is back and my sister has hers. And dad's chair is gone too, our son-in-law took it as he said it was perfect for cuddling the kids in and reading stories. I think dad would have liked that a lot.

Our granddaughter turns five today, where has the time gone? And the move to Whanganui today as well so she is pretty excited. Yesterday our grandson gave me hug without asking and called me Nana for the first time. Really made my day.

Today I have some legal stuff to sort out for dad's estate, this is going to take a while to do so now I have the death certificate I can get started. Then home to do the outside windows, did the inside yesterday. Then some knitting :)

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wow 5 already Kiwimade, means the little one that lived nextdoor will be 5 soon too. She was sooo tiny when she was born. Nice that your Grandboy is giving hugs etc... I hope they enjoy Wanganui, its not an area that I liked but with young ones etc it could be good.. And I love the idea of the hugging chair.
Theres always lots to do with the paperwork when someone passes.. Thankfully I am methodical so worked through everything with Mums, although it was complicated by us having to apply for MrPs super at the same time.
Im waiting for the hospital to ring. To see if they still want me to go over so MrP can try the car... I didnt know about the cot sides etc. But MrP said last night it feels much safer.. I am wondering if perhaps we should change beds, then he would have the lower one, and less distance to fall. But the one he sleeps in has the bed ends from our dear friend that died at the start of the month, so he may not want to change just yet.

My knitting is going well. Im really enjoying this cotton. I had a look on 3 other wool sites to compare the prices and only one had anything cheaper. but the postage was more. I put in another order.. 14 x 50 gram balls with postage just on $40nz. Certainly cant buy it here for less than that.

I feel like Im on hold till Ive heard from the hospital lol.. but I do have to go post a parcel anyway.

Hope everyone has a fab day

morning ladies :) An early start for me this morning. The outside windows never got done so I'll do them this morning. We're meant to have a storm today but it looks pretty good out there for now.

I got stuck on one row of knitting yesterday, it was silly as it was the easiest row to do. Wasn't concentrating I guess.

That cotton sounds like a good buy, popeye. Pity we can't get it that cheap here in NZ.

First thing this morning I'll take dad's car in for a Wof, it's been sold, and typical of us, the WoF ran out last week.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning Ladies. What a day Mr S was moved a couple of times around the hospital yesterday. I went in the afternoon, he was bright in himself, but lost it in the evening. Got phone call asking if I would either come over or talk to him. No way was I going over at 9.30pm. I was tried so spoke to him on the phone for some time.

Busy day ahead. Car needs a Wof and a service so will contact the workshop this morning. They come and get the car do the jobs needed for me.
Will pop over to our local yarn shop this morning buy some more cotton. It's knit and natter this morning so will catch up with ladies. as well. This afternoon off to my gym class. Sometime today I need to make a Birthday Cake for a 16-year-old.
It looks like the bad weather may miss us. I hope so as there still water around from our storm the other week.

Popeye I hope everything goes to plan today and you can take Mr P home. All the best.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning everyone

We are all early birds today.

Its wet and windy here, not very warm either.. So Ive got MrPs cap and will get his thicker jacket. I assume he is still coming home today. Will ring soon to see whats happening.

Hope the trip still happens flick for your girl.

MrP transferred into the car very easily yesterday, funny really cos Ive been telling him for a few years to put his butt in first then fling his legs in, but since the physio suggested it, and he learnt it was alot easier I guess he will do it now lol. Better late than never lol. He worked really hard yesterday.
I went to the oppy to get a couple of dog blankets which I have rolled tight and taped with duct tape to make them firm, to use as arms on the couch to help him get up. Hes been doing that wrong for years too lol.

So my Holiday is over, I cant complain tho a day off 3 weeks. And aside from the travel I have rested and enjoyed myself.

The district nurse rang yesterday they will come on Thursday to change the dressings on his arm.. She asked did we have a dog, No, I said they have been here so much this year they all know to knock and come in lol. So I cant wait to see who it is lol.

Have a fab day everyone and be careful on the roads.

morning ladies :) Fingers crossed your girl can fly flick :)

When the District Nurse visited dad here she said we were supposed to chain the dog up, our boy has never been chained up in his life so I held him on his lead. Trouble is, when the lead goes on he thinks that it's walking time lol. Had him and the Fluffy One on leads when the ambos came out to Dad late at night... that was interesting with the Furry One firmly believing it was walkies!

Dad's car passed it's WoF so I'll give it a wash and it's good to go.

Been knitting this blanket over the last few evenings and am finding my rhythm with the pattern. So far, so good.

happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Another cold blustery day.. So pleased I went back to the chemist yesterday and didnt leave it till today.
MrP is happily settled back in. Missy didnt go near him till teatime.. Then all was well.
I can only imagine with having two dogs on the lead Kiwimade... Glad the car got its warrant.
Have to mend MrPs slippers today, I didnt find the velcro so got a small pack from one of the $2 type shops here. And I still need to do my pills. So thats first.
Did a little knitting last night.
Now that Ive stopped my back is telling me it really doesnt all the travel so Im pleased I dont have to go up to any hospitals now.

Time to keep working on my christmas pressies and get that sorted. Its not that far away thats for sure. And at $1-20 to send a card my list will be dramatically reduced.

Morning everyone
Chilly here but the sun is shining, so maybe the cold wet has moved on.

Waiting to hear from the District nurses to see what time they will be here for MrP. Then Ill fit some grocery shopping in around that.

Had a very quiet day yesterday, except I was snappy but I think it was pain and releif all mixed in together. Feeling much better in the head today thats for sure.
Repair or sort of modified MrPs slippers for him, but hand sewing through sticky backed velcro was a challenge for my stupid fingers, but I did manage a wee bit of knitting last night. Done more to help ease the finger pain than anything. I figured normal movememnt would help rather than pandering to their woes lol.

Lawns should be done today too. Amazing how much thay have grown with the few warmer days.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Yesterday was a crazy day weather wise, fine one minute, wet the next. Still managed to get the lawns mowed and was able to spray the weeds. I have several piles of weeds to bin today as they didn't fit in the wheelie bin last week. And I'm rebuilding a garden path so will work on that today as well.

I knitted around a dozen rows last evening, slow progress but I'm happy with it all.

Before I get outside I'll blat round and do housework, doesn't take long and then it's all done for the weekend.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Tis chilly again this morning, blue sky, white and grey clouds so it will be changeable here I reckon.
I have to nip out to get a top up for my phone which is annoying, as i have things I want to get done.

MrP walked around the perimeter of the supermarket yesterday. His longest walk yet.. was soo proud of him, He hasnt walked much at home but that was a good effort. I did the isles lol

Am on the last dishcloth. I have a small painting job to do, and Im terrible at painting, but hopefully it will be ok.. Its a present so I wont meniton it here. And then I can make some hanging handtowel things.. I will look at patterns today or Ill just wing it lol..
The pattern for the hat on the choir boy is a good decreasing from alot of stitches very quickly so I might even try that with the towels. And Ill see if I can work a crochet pattern that a friend gave me.

Have a fab weekend everyone

morning ladies :) It's going to be a stunner today so I'm going to wash the spiders and their webs off the house. And then a few things to do outside. The bluebells are in full flower and the new roses I planted a few weeks ago are really starting to take off. I've had my first rose in bloom for a week now. Last summer we were well into December before they flowered.

I've knitted five repeats of the pattern for the baby blanket so far, I think I'm going to need anywhere between 25 and 28 repeats, then the wide border at the top. it's a bit smaller than the pattern says but the wool I am using even though it's four ply, is 'thinner' than other four ply. It won't be smaller by much and there is plenty of give and stretch in the pattern anyway.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning Ladies, Going to be a very hot sunny day here in The Bay as well.
I have been on a bit of a rollercoaster the last few days with Mr S in hospital. Had to sort out a lot of things as well. He has as well. One of the main things does he want to have another round of chemo this coming week. Yes, ladies, it's up to him. If all goes well he is coming home on Monday after his appointment with the team.

So what have I been up to, finished 6 facecloths they will either be gifted or go on sale at a craft market a couple of us have booked space. A lot of other pieces to either make or finish off. Have a shawl on my needles at present that I started during the week.

Yes, everything is growing well here, the lawns got mowed just over a week ago and need mowing again. My climbing rose will be out in flower in about a couple of weeks. Have some seedlings to plant up, into the ground next month. I have spring bulbs still coming out.
Your garden will soon be full of colour Kiwimade.

Popeye, I hope you enjoyed knitting with cotton. Look forward to seeing the towels. Are you going to knit the flap? There a lot of patterns around.

Time to move have washing to go out and some cleaning to catch up with. after a busy week.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning everyone
beautiful out there but a bit of wind, and it rained overnight,

Our roses didnt get a prune this year so I hope they will still be ok. Our bluebells are finishing.. Im going to buy new daffodil bulbs for next year. We only had one bloom this year. Very dissappointing.

Yes Im really enjoying knitting the cotton Sunflowers. I didnt get around to serching for patterns yesterday. I have made 3/4rs of another dishcloth using the ends of the balls. Its looking like the Italian flag at the mo lol.

I have washing to do today, and will hopefully get the beds done tomorrow. Talking of those, I have all but decided I would like a higher bed. So am on the look out.
A friend stopped by yesterday with some Afghans she made. Its her kids calf club day today and they all had to bake. the school sent home a plate with each child to come back with baking on. I thought that was a good idea, but my friend knows I love afghan bikkies, they are wonderful.

Right I need to get stuff done.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) Gorgeous work flick, love, love the colour!

A warning about your credit cards ladies. I noticed a transaction on our card we couldn't account for yesterday. Phoned the bank (yep, on a Saturday) and yes, it was fraud. I think our details were taken from online shopping so now to figure out where and never shop there again. The payment was for something on a French site so definitely not MrK or me. So it means a complaint to police and the withdrawl reversed. Luckily it wasn't for a lot, it could have been a lot worse. I think they take small(ish) amount hoping it won't be noticed and people won't pay attention to their card balances. Ummmm wrong! This chick has a tight rein on ours lol. I love the blocking feature on the phone app too for bank cards, worked well in this case as I blocked the cards before phoning the bank and cancelling them.

I'm off to help our daughter finish cleaning the house they moved out of, shouldn't be much to do but will take the steam mop and window vacum and my vacum cleaner.

Enjoy the 'extra' sunshine, summer is on the way!

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Thanks for the heads up Kiwimade, I have to admit I am a little slack in watching ours.
Rather cool here this morning but its going to be a glorious day.

I found a couple of recipes for the towel hangers yesterday and the dishcloth border I was looking for. So I started a dishcloth last night I have doubled the cotton and its making it alot thicker, which should be better.

I have a new mission to start tomorrow. I cannot start it today as the friend whose present it is, is stopping in at some stage and I dont want to be caught in the process of doing it lol.. And not something I can quickly throw in a bag lol. So tomorrow will be the day.

MrP is doing good, hes not exercising as much as I hoped he would but Im not running after him as much either. So hes still moving a bit.
My scars have thickened in two patches, which I kind of expected, despite plastering them with moisturisor. But Im pleased its all over and done with now.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Ladies Thanks, Kiwimade. Will check, I do very will buying from sites on the net.

Sunday and warm here today so far. Have lots of jobs to do today as Mr S will be coming home after his appointment with the team. It's going to be a hard meeting re the chemo. Mr S wants to take everything they give him including chemo. He was borderline when he saw Doctor about the chemo to start with. I just have to go along with whatever he wants. Yes, this is hard.
Finally started my shawl last night, after spending time working it out.
Hope you will be able to get Mr.P moving around and going for short walks.

Kiwimade you are going to miss your daughter and family with them moving away from the area. Can see you staying overnight or longer on your visits.
Happy a great day everyone.

morning ladies :)

I will miss them sunflowers, but they have to do what they need to do, and we'll stay longer when visiting.

Today I have to make a complaint to the police about our credit card, not that it will affect the thief, but the bank asked me to so I'll do it. And the Furry One needs some flea treatment so it's a visit to the vet.

Six pattern repeats done, it's starting to look like a baby blanket now and I'm getting quicker as I become more familiar with the pattern.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Gosh its quiet without the traffic and kids for school. First day of the holidays is always the worst lol

A grey old start to the day.. Weather was awesome for the weekend tho.

Shhh but I have aggrivated my right side scar, Think I did it getting up off the floor, without using a chair like I always do. And of course its on the part that was always sensitive. Ive got my strap on and its helping..

Ive decided to have a trial run on the handtowel topper.. I have a spare microfibre cloth and since its already overlocked I will have a tutu with that. Have half a dishcloth to finish first tho.

Dist nurse coming for MrP today. A tupperware dealer is coming to pick up 7 seals that have split on my 25 year old tupperware. you can tell I have my lids on the containers in the same direction cos its the same corner that is split on every one lol. Normally you organise the returns etc yourself but since I have so many the dealer is going to do it for me.
The worst part is I thought getting pearl white seals, it would be a standard colour, but they dont do it now. So Ive decided to go with black, I already have one seal in that colour. And I figure black and white go together. I just hope it doesnt do my head in lol... OCD Much lol Yup.

Think I will leave the painting job until tomorrow, just to give the tummy a day of mending.

Hopefully my cotton will arrive today

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, I've been quite busy lately, although I'm not sure that I have actually achieved much. Well I suppose I have.

Saturday I went through to the knit and natter session at the wool shop and collected $58 for two puzzle animals which she had sold, and I ordered two project bags. I'll put up pics when I get them. Came home for lunch then went to the club to play mah jong.

I cooked a tiny chicken roast and invited a friend to come and join me and we talked into the small hours. She stayed the night and I took her home yesterday morning.

I spent yesterday sorting through stuff - do I keep it, op shop it or biff it. What a muddle I am now in, but I will finish the job this morning and then I will be happy to have got rid of some unwanted stuff.

This afternoon I'm taking a friend to visit her mum at the old folks home and then taking her to Kerikeri to a physio or chiropractor or something, she can hardly walk. So I will miss going to the club tonight but too bad.

The countdown is on for my stepson and his family to arrive. I was chatting to him on skype this morning. They arrive Friday night, Saturday and Sunday I'm at the craft market, Monday I'm out for lunch, Tuesday I'm at mah jong, Wednesday I'm out for lunch, Friday I have a dental appointment, so I won't see much of them during the first week.

He says he is going to Auckland during the first week to buy a car (he is probably cursing the fact that I got rid of the old Safari but I couldn't afford to keep it).

He is going to borrow my car Saturday and go house-hunting so it is possible they won't be with me too long.

I am working on a dinosaur puzzle ball at the moment, I want to finish it and make a cow or a giraffe before the weekend, so I will be busy.

Have a good day everyone.

Wow Kuaka you have had a busy time.

Im booking a slow day today, Just feel a bit blah..

I knitted a towel topper last night. pleased with the instructions but I plan on making some pattern changes. its too plain even tho I used a strand each of green and white to match the towel. So today I might do stripes rather than a mix. They dont take long so thats good.

My order arrived from Hobbii and Im very pleased with what I got. Still waiting on MrPs christmas present, but thats coming from the UK.. And a torch type thing for hanging around my neck when knitting etc.
There was a post on Fb about the torches, In US dollars they wanted $16 for the light and $5 postage I think it was.. I got one from either Wish or Aliexpress free and just paid $6 for postage. Theyre probably made in the same place lol.

Brr still a bit chilly, will go bget my cardy.

Morning Ladies. Going to be another great sunny day here. Was to bring Mr S home on Monday after his meeting with the chemo team. There was to be a visit from the OP team and hospice. I would not take him until everything was sorted. Arrived yesterday to pick him up and he could hardly walk or talk. They had him in the discharge lounge right by the window. Temp was 22c in the lounge.
Nothing to drink for over 2 hours. Had to get a doctor as I was not going to take him home. So hopefully I have him home today. I'm so over it now. The Social Worker is going to write up a report about the above and give me a copy as well.

I have finished knitting the facecloths. All up 8. Started a shawl. for my self. Planted Seeds veggie and flower seeds, so I will hopefully have the garden ready for them later in the month.

Hope you will get to enjoy the family while they here in NZ Kuaka. Not long now and you will busy at the markets.

How is it going with Mr P now home? Hope he keeps up with his walking. Did you look for a pattern for the handtowels tags? You could always use fabric for the tags.

Glad you are enjoying knitting the baby blanket for your friend Kiwimade. It sounds like you have a good display of roses this season.
Time to move as I need to do s/market shop before we pick up Mr S.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning everyone
Hope all goes well for you and MrS Sunflowers.

Yes ive done 3 handtowels now.. I did two yesterday. Im knitting them. You run a row of stitches in the cotton your using across the towel, they pick up and knit into those stitches. A good way of getting it gathered evenly.
Mind you I spent an hour playing with buttons, deciding what colour I wanted lol.

Ohh those pesky Bunnis Kiwimade the furry one gets a few each season doesnt he. Good exercise for him lol.

MrP's diabetes eye check today. They have a ramp there, thankfully or he would never get up the steps. Will get petrol too as I have my cardiology appointment tomorrow..
Then all my health stuff is done for the year. YayMy smear was clear, so thats done and dusted for 3 years lol.

MrP is walking the hallway and he went out to the mailbox yesterday.

Right I had better hustle my butt, havent got the car out or anything yet.

Morning ladies, it's busy here too. I don't think I will ever be organised for the family arriving Friday evening. It's our 1st Wednesday of the month "bunny club" lunch today. I won't go to knit and natter as I am taking a friend into town for an 11.30 acupuncture session, so I will do a couple of things and go straight to lunch. Another friend just phoned and asked if I can cover her op shop shift tomorrow afternoon, and I said I could but I'm supposed to be taking the other friend to Kerikeri for an appointment with an osteopath. She can hardly walk at the moment, and I've said I will go and make her beds up for her as she has visitors coming at the weekend. It's just gone nuts!

Yesterday late morning I decided I would spray the weeds in the driveway with weedkiller as there wasn't a breath of wind for a change and it was nice and sunny but within an hour it was raining and before long it was torrential so I'm guessing I've probably wasted my time and the weedkiller. Oh well. I'll just have to give it another dose next time conditions are perfect.

Almost finished my dinosaur puzzle ball, and then I wanted to start on a giraffe one, but I'm thinking the octopus ones seem quicker so I might do one in a different colour. I'm thinking shocking pink.

Have a market Saturday and Sunday. I won't see much of the family to start with as I'm out for lunch on Monday, Tuesday afternoon I have mah jong, Friday I have a dental appointment in Kaikohe. Stepson is supposed to be going to Auckland next week to buy a car, and has asked can he borrow my car on Saturday to go to Kerikeri to look at houses. This is a permanent move, so I have no idea how long they will be with me. I guess until they find somewhere to live.

Right, I had better get cracking or I'll never be ready.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) Did MrS make it home sunflowers? 22 degrees is awfully hot for inside. And yes :) I should have a good show of roses this season. My new roses are doing well with lots of growth, mind you I put a heap of compost and sheep pellets in with them when I planted them. Can't wait for the bigger ones to cover the fenceline.

Kauka, are your family moving close by? Would be lovely if they were.

I did another repeat of the knitting pattern yesterday but also did a bit of sewing. Our daughter gave me some fabric she would never use and in the stash was some blue gingham. I've hemmed it to make a picnic cloth and will embroider in white just to jazz it up a bit. There was also a blue gingham in much smaller squares so will turn that into serviettes to go with it and embroider something similar in the corner. And there's a Christmas pressie all set to go back to daughter lol. Well, part of her Christmas pressie anyway.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning ladies from Sunny Hawke's Bay. Just came in after doing so cleaning up of the garden beds. The Lawnmower guy due today and lawns sure need cutting.

Waiting to hear from the hospital this morning before I take off over this afternoon. I'll go to my gym class this morning as I missed the Tuesday class.
Started tidying up in my craft room last night. So no knitting yesterday.
Have a couple of sewing projects to do over the next couple of weeks.

Hope your stepson and family enjoy the move back to NZ Kuaka. Hope they buy nearby so you can enjoy their company.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying this great weather we are having at present.

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone
I hadnt noticed until yesterday how much growth was on our roses too Kiwimade.. I really need to get someone in to do the gardens , the landlord didnt turn up like she said she would.

I adore Gingham, Im always grabbing bits I see in oppies etc.. I got some small square blue a while back, it was in a bag and I thought it was a good size piece. but it turned out to be a table cloth and serviettes. They are hemmed or overlocked, (cant remember) but I plan on adding lace or something else to make them special too.

You were out early Sunflowers, good therapy to murder some weeds eh lol.

Ive been and done my bloods and the groceries. Ive put the cold stuff away, and will finish the rest when I get off here.

I hope to get another and final coat on the frame today before we go to the clinic for my cardiology appointment. MrP said I did a pretty good job for someone who says she cant paint... and coming from a painter Im quite chuffed. But He said a second coat will just make it perfect.

Have an awesome day everyone

Hi, Kiiwimade and everyone else. I did not bring Mr S home. Waiting to see if there a bed at one of the local rest homes in Napier. Maybe downline, he will come home. I always said I would take care of him.I'm heartbroken. Going to visit him later today.

have finished mowing the lawns and having a cuppa.

aww sunflowers, don't be so hard on yourself. There is only so much you can do and you are taking care of him by having him in a rest home. Taking care of someone comes in many shapes and forms and if it means respite care, then that's what it is. To me, it means doing the best you can for someone and sometimes a resthome is best. I learned this the hard way with dad.

morning ladies :) A foggy morning this morning but I can already see the sun coming through so it will burn off quickly.

I have a few things to do in town this morning then housework and back into building the garden path.

I'm halfway through embroidering the picnic cloth, am very happy with the results although I think I could have made the pattern a bit bigger. But the white on the blue and white gingham looks good. And I knitted a few rows of the baby blanket. Two more repeats and I'll be halfway.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

I agree with Kiwimade, Suunflowers, you are doing your best for MrS. Its something Im slowly learning too.. The thing is we Have to put ourselves first or we wont be well enough to look after the others too.

My cardiology appointment went well. I dont ave to see them for 2 years now, but there will be an echocardiograph appointment sometime inbetween.. I wasnt happy with a 6 kilo weight gain, but I knew I wasnt eating well when MrP was in hospital. So Im going to be good again.

My INR was low, which is a direct relation to the lettuce Ive been eating, but cos Im anaemic the dr said to carry on eating it and adjust my warfarin.
So medically Im all done , aoart from normal day to day stuff lol..

I couldnt find a purple teatowel anywhere yesterday. but Im going to look in the cheapie shops today, I have to duck out for potatos so will check them while Im out.. otherwise I have to chose something else for one friends christmas present..

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, I'm not sure that I will be ready for the family arriving this evening, but hey, they are family - so they know not to expect a show home but a "lived in" home with a warm welcome. They plan on living in Kerikeri which is about 25km away, but of course if they find somewhere on the outskirts on the other side of town it could be 30km, but better than when they lived in Singapore, Bangkok, Brisbane or Sydney.

I had a busy day yesterday and didn't really get anything done at home as I was chauffering my friend around because she can hardly walk let alone drive. Might be taking her to Wellsford next week. Anyhow, what I don't get done today will have to wait. I'm going to shower in a minute and go to Knit and natter as I didn't go on Wednesday, and may not go next week.

But right now, I must get cracking.

And yes, don't be too hard on yourself sunflowers, I wanted to look after Mr K right till the end but it just wasn't possible. And yes, I felt guilty at the time, but looking back, I couldn't have done any more for him that I did, I couldn't have coped any longer and he got the care he needed in the hospital, care that I couldn't give him.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) I hope your family arrived safe and sound kuaka and you're enjoying your time with them.

It's going to be a gorgeous day today so I'll be outside for as much as I can. I still have a bit more embroidery to do on the picnic cloth but that won't take long to do. Another pattern repeat done last evening on the baby blanket. I've set myself mini targets of a repeat a day/evening.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning ladies. Overcast and some showers today. Slow start this morning. Overcast and showers for today. Will be going over to the hospital later today. Didn't make it yesterday, as I had other jobs to take care of. Mr S was cheerful when I spoke to him yesterday. The team are busy checking out places in Napier for Mr S.

Have asked my Cuz to come down now instead of later in the month, so will finish cleaning the room up over the few days.

Hope your family arrived and you are enjoying their company Kuaka. It is good to have some family then nearby.

Not long and you have the blanket finished Kiwimade. The picnic cloth I sure will get a lot of use by the family.,

My lawn mowing guys are coming in next week to help with the gardens for me. I sprayed the driveway and paths this week.
Will try and do some knitting this evening if I can stay awake.
Have a great day everyone.

morning ladies :) I hope everyone has been able to spend some time crafting in one way or another.

Today I am taking dad's car to my sisters for the new owner to pick up and that's the last of his estate sorted. It feels good to have it all done.

I've almost finished building the garden path, just have the end bit to do so the pebbles (when I get them) don't fall onto the grass (when that gets planted). We had to buy a new wheel for the wheelbarrow and omg it makes a huge difference as it's slightly larger than the old one. Once the path is done I have a plan for the south end of the house so will get stuck into that. And when that is done will buy a trailer load of garden pebbles for both the path and between the house and fence. It's cheaper and more practical than buying the pebbles by the bag.

I'll do some knitting or embroidery later in the day/evening, am halfway with the baby blanket so I have a pretty good idea of how much wool I will be using now.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Wow Kiwimade you certainly like your gardening etc.. Its a good form of therapy to I guess.

I didnt get as much crafting done as I planned yesterday. So much for my Stay at home and save petrol plan, our recycle centre puts photos up on FB and there was the exact cookbook stand, that I had been looking for. Its red which is my Colour theme in my kitchen.. So we nipped up to get that. And I got 3 more cook booksfor 50 cents each too.. So I spent quite a while reading recipes.

MrP walked right around, on a walking stick, not his walker.. So he was weary but ever so pleased with himself.

We finally got his discharge papers yesterday, it actually stated that he shouldnt be driving for the forseable future, if at all. I thought he might blow his stack, but although he wasnt happy he remained fairly calm.. I plan on sneaking a note in on Tuesday to warn our GP too, so she can reiterate that too.

Will finally get the apples done today. MrP has offered to help which is great.

Have two towels to do and then finish the frame and the Christmas gear is all done..
Ive done my reuse, recycle, buy secondhand and Make for everyone.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) lol yes I do love my garden popeye. When we bought this house it was a do-up in more ways than one. The garden was an absolute shemozzle and it's taken some real hard work to get it sorted. There was a ground cover covering most of it and canna lilies spreading through the garden. I was worried they would spread onto the neighbours farm as farmers see it as a pest. So I pretty much pulled most things out and started again. The soil still needs lots of building up so once the paths are finished properly I will have some nice edges to top the garden up with compost and other goodies. We have also trimmed or cut out eight big trees with another three to go. It's very satisfying when plants that couldn't grow before are now growing. There is still one very messy corner to do but I need a digger to move the concrete fill that has been piled up by the previous owner.

I finished the embroidery tablecloth and it's in the wash to wash off the transfer pencil I used. Am very happy with the result, once it's dry and ironed, I'll take a pic. Now for the serviettes, will do that on a wet day. I knitted a pattern repeat too last evening while watching a movie on Netflix. I know the pattern by heart now lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning Ladies. Spend time out in the gardens over the weekend while the weather was warm and dry. Our place was very much like yours Kiwimade. when we brought it. Hours, days in the gardens and painting. Time to update the inside again. Someone painted at some time over red bricks. Not sure what to do about that.

Visited Mr S over the w/end and just may get there today. Having a girl's day out today.
Did some knitting and cut out a couple of project bags for a stall later in the week.
I sure they will like the tablecloth and serviettes. There are some lovely spots for picnics along the river. Hope the family are enjoying their new city.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning everyone
Sounds like you have had a huge job on the gardens Kiwimade.

We were lucky to inherit all my stepfathers gardens he put in when we brought their house, when they dowsized.. He loved roases and Dahlias. Ive never been a huge fan of gardening, in mangakino I coldnt garden cos the pumic in the ground used to aggrivate the skin on my hands and I dont like gloves.
Ive finished all the knitting of christmas presents, and will finish the frame project today.
Think I will knit some more christmas toys now, for next year.

Have a fab day, MrP needing me
