Morning everyone

Not sure if we had a frost or not, def plenty of dew out there tho.

I got up and put bread on at 5am and then went back into a deeep sleep.

From the first two cauli yesterday I got 3.3 kilos into the freezer. The two for today are slightly smaller but I imagine at least 2.5 more kilos worth. All for $6.
Will then rest later and do some work on the tools..

Yes Sunflowers Ive often looked at dilligafs listings..

Right I best get a few things done on here then off to the kitchen. Wont take long today.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I'm up to the last row of my throw and am playing yarn chicken with the yarn. The yarn I bought was for another project but I worked out the meterage and it should, in theory, be enough. Fingers and everything crossed!

Dad comes home today, not sure how I feel about this but will see how it goes. I know he hasn't been doing what the docs have told him to do at the rest home which doesn't help. So frustrating as he has to take responsibility for his health but he won't.

happy knitting :)

Hi, Ladies, It's overcast and cooler today. Glad our load of firewood arrived Saturday. Busy moving it to the woodshed. Mr S is feeling the cold very much at present.
We have an appointment at the hospital Wed that I am not looking forward too. Getting old is a bugger.
Knitted a second pair of mittens for Mr S over the weekend.

Kiwimade, I hope with your father home with you and Mr K is not going to cause too many problems. Just think you have great gardens you can walk around and work in them. Weather will hopefully get warmer as well.

Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoy this new week.

Happy knitting:)

Morning ladies, I had a very interesting day yesterday at a craft day with friends. We went through to Kawakawa and spent the day doing fabric collage. Not something I've ever really been interested in or wanted to do, but when it was suggested we go, I thought "why not?" It was only $10 for the day and I thought it's a good excuse to go out for the day rather than stay home on my own (I do find Sundays are difficult sometimes as everybody seems to be involved with families and I often spend it alone). But I went and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't say I will continue to make things but it was well worth the effort.

We had a really heavy shower first thing so I suspect the rest of my lawns won't be getting done today. Never mind. I have plenty to do. The house still looks like a tornado whipped through it so I should do some tidying up. I have some furniture to shift out of the main bedroom as one of the neighbours is coming to paint it later in the week - it's just too big for me to tackle. That should keep me out of trouble for a while, just have to be careful not to do my back a mischief in the process.

I need to nip into town this morning to check the mail and get a few things, and then this evening I'll go to the club to play snooker. Other than that, I'm just trying to get tidied up which seems to be a never-ending mission.

A friend posted on fb the other day that "I don't have mess, I just have ideas everywhere". Exactly.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) I finished my throw yesterday and took pics but haven't uploaded them yet so will try and do that sometime today.

Friends phoned and told us they are going to be grandparents for the first time so out come the baby patterns lol.

Dad is home and is expecting me to fetch and carry for him. Wouldn't even move out of the chair yesterday. So today I'm going to be 'busy' and he will have to move to the kitchen sink and get that glass of water by himself. Tough I know, but he can't sit and vegetate, he has to move about.

Happy knitting :)

Morning Ladies, the sun is doing it's best to shine this morning. Off to Knit and Natter, this morning fingers crossed. Have to have a look for something to take.
Was catching up with family around the countryside last night. when I was going to look out some knitting for today.

Kiwimade you are your father's daughter, you are not his nursemaid You will do little jobs for him we all would I know you love your father but you need still to have a life. Let him go to the kitchen for a drink etc. Sorry if I sound hard I watch my mother run after her father for a couple of years.
Mr S told me yesterday you don't wait on me hand and foot. I will ask if I need something or else I will do it myself.
I put a cord of firewood away yesterday, just in time before the rain.
Hope everyone has a great day and can spend some time outside.
Happy crafting ladies.

Morning everyone

Yep make sure you stick to your Guns Kiwimade.. otherwise you will end up like me, doing everything for MrP. He will sit there till I come off the comp at night time and then say Are you going to make me an ice cream? Yet if I am sore he will make it himself. I made a huge rod for my own back. And now he sits on the couch doing absolutely nothing for himself.

Wow cant wait to see the new throw, that didnt take you long at all..

Sunflowers sometimes things just get in the way eh. I never got yesterdays paper read, so now have two lol.

I only have the hat to do for the Girl Doll.. and to knit some leaves and berries for it. I have a feeling they are in the other chirstmas doll boook, thankfully I didnt put that book of pattern books away, under the bed or Id be stuck.
Meant to do my blood today but Im already coughing and I dont want to go out in the cold and wet, so Ill do it on Thursday on our way to the Clinic.

I put my wedding dress on this morning.. 9 days off 27 years and it fits.. I think I have enough material in one of the facings to cover a new button, as one lost the button piece years ago. So I might get that done and wear it on Thursday.. Its bright crimson pink, royal blue and black.. There was no way I wanted a traditional wedding dress lol.

Hopefully my straws will arrive today.. so Ill tuck those away for future projects. And before they are stoppped being produced.

The District nurse was blown away at how fast the healing is happening now. She thinks the first or 2nd week of October, yayayay.. So its nice having a target to aim for.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning Ladies :)
I was struck down with some kind of horrible bug last wednesday and have only just come right. Had a few days of work and was unable to get out of bed for a few days. Still feel 'off' but certainly better than last week. I dont recall ever being so sick in my life. I made a blanket for my daughters teachers Mum who is not well and thought it would be nice for her as a throw for her legs in the rest home. Hope the picture works out. Its made using a polarfleece type wool/yarn that i got from uncle bills. Its amazing to work with and my other half has requested one too lol so i will head over tomorrow and get another 10 or so balls. Hope everyone has a great day and stays warm and dry and bug free :)

morning ladies :) Thanks for your support, sometimes I feel like I'm a bully but I have to keep saying no or he will just vegetate. He got the hint yesterday and is on the move again. And MrK is supporting me 100% too which is wonderful. Today I'll take him to his docs as he isn't well enough to drive and I want to hear what he tells the doc (he's good at fluffing the truth). He also has some shopping he wants to get done but we'll see if he can cope with that, somehow I doubt it.

I still haven't uploaded the pic, it was just one of those days where my plans just went skew-wiff. Will do that today.

I've knitted a wee beanie and one bootie for our friends pending grandchild and can't wait for the wool to arrive for the blanket. It's going to be in a very soft green. Will finish the booties today/evening and start on one or two of those six week newborn top down jumpers - you know the ones I mean lol. Can't think of the name. The one with all the buttons down the side.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Ohh Kiwimade I know how you feel and No yoour not a bully.. Our parents seem to think when they get like this, that they should come first... I desperatly craved Normal when Mum was at her finest. And Yep go in with your dad at the Drs. I do the same with MrP and did with Mum. MrP expects the drs to be able to figure out whats wrong without him telling them.
Is the Jumper that Peranium (sp) something or rather?

Wow Marypoppins I hope you are feeling much better now. Love the blanket it looks lovely and squishy.

I have finished the doll, other than a cord aroound her neck.. ( Friendsaid Murder is wrong lol) and the book.. But Im not in the mood to be playing with Glue.
I was going to start putting the boy together last night but I knew I wouldnt concentrate well enough, so started a snowman girl instead lol.. After an increase row there was 39 rows of stocking stitch so I knew I could watch wentworth and knit.

So Ill do the cord today and then start on him. The one I started last night has a boy and girl version so I will do both.

Yesterday the school across the road put out a call for help or donations towards the Gala Day, so I decided they could have the Snow white and dwarf set. So Ive told them Ill get them oout on the weekend and take them over to the school next week.. Will be good for a raffle.. And Im soo pleased they moved the gala back to November rather than Easter.

Have a fab day all and Dont forget the Brolly

Good Morning Ladies You are most welcome Kiwimade. You have Mr K support, just make sure you have time for yourself every day.

I took time out and walked over to the gym yesterday, 5 min away first in over 2months. The staff changed my /ship so I can go anytime outside the two weekly classes.
One of the ladies phoned me from K &'N and asked if I would like to go to Knit August Night open market on Sunday morning and then lunch. Yes!Yes!. Not sure how many traders are coming this year. Classes start Thursday afternoon It's run by Skeinz. See there facebook page.

The firewood is still in the driveway behind gates and covered with traps.
No crafting at all yesterday. Looked out wool for a couple of projects. Everything together in project bags ready to go.

What lovely colours you had for your wedding dress and you can now get back into it.. Will done you!
My dress is in my blanket box and have no hope of getting into it. LOL.
Mr S has an appointment with his medical team tomorrow afternoon.
Hope everyone has a great day

Yup up early. Have to undress my wounds today and give myself time to clean it before we leave for the clinic.. My first self clean..

But ohh it was nice getting the car oout without lugging then weight around.. I kinda feel lopsided lol.

Too cold to wear my wedding dress tho lol.

I didnt have any plans on going to spotlight today, but I definetily stopped it. A new place to get wool is hobbii I think thats hows its spelt. I ordered some cotton. But they have a full range of yarns.

morning ladies :) Yesss granc, that's what they are lol. I had a blonde/senior moment and just couldn't think what it was, so thank you :)

Dad is saying he's doing his exercises but we know he's not. Ambos came out last night while I was at yoga and it seemed he had a panic attack. Back to the doctors on Friday.

Finally managed to upload a pic of the throw, it's quite heavy as I doubled the double knit yarn. The pattern called for worsted wool but this was what I had. Over all though, I am pleased with it and it looks great on our chocolate brown sofa and against the pale green wall.

Morning ladies, love the throw kiwimade. It certainly didn't take long, crochet is so much quicker than knitting.

No plans for this morning but this afternoon I'm doing a shift at the op shop for a friend. Be a change, seems ages since I've worked there - not that I've missed it. Quiz night tonight at the local golf club, and we will have a meal before we start the quiz.

A rather grey overcast day here, we had heavy rain early this morning so again, I won't be able to mow the lawns. Just as well they're not growing very fast.

I'm making progress with my "to do" list and have already crossed off four items, so I just might get most of it done by the time the markets start in October, but that will depend on how many times I fall asleep in the chair of an evening.

Have a super day everyone.

I have had the best of Days.. probably my best since the start of all this.

The surgeon was very pleased with my wounds.. Said he wont need to see me again.
The nurses were calling me a Nurse patient and were very impressed with how well I had cleaned the wounds and dressed it so it didnt leak.

BUT the best part was I havent put a single gram on since the day I left hospital. I thought I had. So I was feeling rather chuffed.

INR came in as 2.7 which is also great.

Had KFC for lunch, well and tea for me cos I never eat much at lunch.

So its been an awesome day. I hope everyone elses was good too

Pleased to hear you did a great job Popeye the other day and the team is happy with the way you are healing.

Mr S appointment for yesterday has been put off until next Thursday. Had to take him over Wed for them to take another lot of samples. The Med team was not pleased with results. Results show everything clear. Glad when this week is coming to an end.
Will go out and clear some more garden and that will fill the bin which will be collected around lunch time.
Have two project bags hanging up ready to go. Did not make it to

morning ladies :)

Well I've been given a huge challenge knitting wise. A good friend is going to be a nana soon for the first time and she would like to pass on her son's baby shawl to her new grandchild. Sadly it is badly ripped and has holes so she has asked me if I could repair it. It's pure wool, looks like 2 ply and was beautifully knitted. I'll spread it out on the carpet (after vacuuming lol) and see what's what. I'll take photos and post them here and on the FB page too. I have said to my friend there are no promises whether I can repair it or not. But it's quite the responsibility so any advice will be gratefully received!

Happy knitting :)

Here's what it looks like, I found seven holes as well as the edging. I'm thinking I may need to unpick it for the larger centre holes but then thought if it has to be unpicked, I might as well (with friend's permission) unpick the lot and reuse the wool for another shawl. Old but new kinda thing.

Morning everyone

Wow such a pretty blanket but ohh in a very sad state.. I agree with you Kiwimade, I would undo it all and reknit it. It will still have the memory of it being the sons blanket. Sure is a challenge thats for sure.
It makes the few holes I have to mend on the magic square blanket that Mum knitted look tiny. I would return your blanket with care instructions pinned to it tho.

We ended up going to Pukekohe yesterday. Long story short the spoons in our cutlery set are huge so I got a set of here last year, but they have plastic handles, Ive never left them submerged in hot water, Just wash them from the bench without soaking. but the House lady has been soaking them in the sink.. And the handles are coming off.
So I started looking on here and found a warehouse one and thought ohh stuff it we will go over.
They didnt have the one I found online before we left so in the end I just brought spoons and teaspoons.. they are plain but the dessert spoons are smaller and look like a dessert crossed with a soup spoon..
So while I was there I had a look at the cakes of yarn and managed to find a match for one I was sent for my birthday. Yay.

Went to countdown and got 4 packets of clear straws, which are even better than white ones.

I was pushing MrP in the wheelchair and Im am achy in the sternum, first time in months.. But he could never have walked around the store.

Need to put some stuff away today, and will dig out the Snow White and dwarfs for the school.

Then I will rest this afternoon and work on the choir boy. Havent done any since Wednesday.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) mndy1, I thought about that option as well, it would be simpler to do. I have spoken to my friend and her husband has persuaded her to have a brand new one knitted. Phew lol. Think i have dodged a bullet on this one but I also suspect she will ask me to knit the new one.

It's going to be a beautiful day here today, just wish my daffadils would hurry up and open. They have been in bud for weeks. I have a few things to do and then dad is staying with my sister for a few days.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Phew for you too Kiwimade, at least knitting a new one will be easier, but even undoing the original will be a job and a half.

We have had one daffodil flower, on a bulb I missed in the garden. Sadly I didnt notice till it was almost dead. The ones in the pot appear to be jonquils rather than daffodils.. God knows how that happened lol

Enjoy your break from your dad, Id be asking your sister to do it regualarly as respite for you.

I had planned on baking today, but Im putting it off. I want to work on the boy doll and get him finished.

At the mo Im hooked up to the power to charge the battery it went totally flat over night. So an hour on that should be enough to have a shower and get dressed. I always plug in when Im sitting crafting or watching tv, so not sure why it went flat. Thank goodness tho it sucked in normal again.

Have a fab day everyone, its gloomy here, not wet but very overcast

Good Morning Ladies. Will it the first in 10 years that I have not gone to Knit August Night Sunday Wool Sale. They are so luck weather wise. Another Sunny Weekend for it.
Mr S is tired of waiting for these results. The team ordered another lot last Wed. They were not happy with the first lot of results. We get to see the Doctors this Thursday. Fingers crossed that it comes back clear.

Your friend hopefully is happy with a fresh new blanket for her grandchild.
Pleased to hear your sister is having your dad for a few days. Hope Mr k and you enjoy the break.
Talking of daffodils my ones have been out for over a couple of weeks now. Yes, I still have some to put into the ground. Was thinking they would be over before we have Daffodil Day at the end of the month.
Knitted up a dishcloth last night. Not sure what my next project will be.
Coffee Break is over.

Morning ladies, sorry been a bit absent for a few days. Had a really hectic Saturday, went to Kerikeri to a once a month knit and natter held at the wool shop. Only went for the first time in June and didn't know they had a "show and tell" session to show off what you have been making to inspire the others to do different things. Took some of my Amish puzzle animals and tea cosies and sold the dinosaur puzzle and the owner of the shop has offered to try to sell some of my things for me - on commission of course - but if she sells I still get what I want for the items. She is going to re-label them for me.

Then I went to Bunnings (bought a Karcher window vacuum) and to Briscoes then New World. Came home, quick lunch and to the club to play mah jong. Home for a quick change and back to the club for a meal with friends to celebrate my 70th birthday, then to a friends for my birthday party.

I felt quite deflated yesterday, but I did do the head (including the tentacles) for an octopus puzzle.

Working at the op shop this morning for the lady I used to work with when I first started, so I had better get moving.

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies and a very happy belated 70th kuaka :) That's great news about the sales!

I've started knitting another beanie in blue this time. If baby is a girl, they can donate it to the matrnity ward if they don't want it. My Deramores order can't be too far away now.

I'm babysitting our neighbour's kids this evening for a few hours so will take my knitting with me. I found a toy dump truck and digger for their son and he is a happy kid digging away in his mum's garden lol (she gave him a spot to dig).

It's going to be a beautiful day today and I plan to be outside for most of it.

Happy knitting :)

Well Im almost in Shock.

I ordered some cotton from the new place, Hobbii, and it only took 5 Days to get from Denmark to here, Im very impressed.
Its 100% pure cotton too and such pretty colours. And I got a free finger digital row counter which is comfortable to wear and I cant see it hindering the wool in anyway. And a lollie which I gave to MrP.

Dist Nurse reckons 5 weeks, and I should be healed, but will have to be very careful for a while and Ill use my strapping belt to help support it and keep it closed.I was filling a tank within 2 days, the one I have now is only 200 mils they hold 450 and its been a week so far. She said now it will be pulling the tissue up rather than the gunk out. Yay. Its only 1cm deep now.

Only have the scarf to do and attach the lantern to the Boy doll and do the book for the girl and they are finished.

Im soo tempted to start a dishcloth with the cotton. But I would like to get two snowmen done before christmas too.

Awesome having a place to sell your stuff is handy Kuaka. no setting up stalls and far more foot traffic too.

Enjoy the outdoors Kiwimade.

I gave the birds another seed cake yesterday so we are back to being entertained.. I may have to source other peoples left over fat etc to carry on lol.

My eyes are itchy with the pollen already, they reckon this year is going to be very bad for hayfever etc.. Joys oh Joy not..

Ill take a photo and add it. And it will be on FB too

Morning everyone,
Tis a bit chilly today.

I dont really have any plans to.. Apart from chasing MrP around lol.. His sugar was lower this morning which is great, but hes still very weak. I thought his infection might be up but he doesnt have a temperature. So Ive asked him to try walking a bit more to strengthen his muscles and he agreed without an argument. So Im not delivering meals to him now. He has to come get them..

Up to the head part on the snow person (PC at its best lol), they dont have legs so that makes it faster and less fussing about stuffing them too.

And Im going to be very strict and not start on the cotton until these are done.

Hope everyone is well and have a fab day all

Good Morning Ladies.Looks to be another warm sunny day here today. Yesterday, I was halfway to Knit'n' Natter and turned around went back home. Mr S was very unwell and in pain. Had an x-ray on his hip as he had a fall about 3 weeks ago and not told me. Men! Everything is ok and was told to walk around more and do his exercises to strengthen his legs. Sometimes they need to hear it from someone else.
Knitted a couple of dish clothes last night while we watched a DVD.

Like the colours of cotton yarn Popeye. All this planning for Christmas is doing my head in. I have six family Birthdays with last one 10 days before Christmas, so it's a busy time in our household.
Hope you are enjoying your break and hope you are able to have some day trips kiwimade. Yes, it is a busy time in our gardens as well. Look forward to seeing your new roses.

Happy belated 70th kuaka. Hope you had a lovely time.. Sure got the sewing and knitting control. I made a list of sewing and knitting I've planned to do as well. Can see a lot of knitting time coming up as I go back and forward to the hospital with Mr S for his treatment.

Hope everyone is OK and has a great day

morning ladies :) Yep, it's that time of the year again. My nose is stuffy and I'm headachy. When we went to Tauranga the other day I spotted the wattles in full bloom. I try and put off taking antihistamines for as long as possible. Last spring I found a combination of meds worked so I'll try that again this spring.

It's a stormy day today so perfect for crafting of some sort. Fingers crossed my Deramores order arrives. In the meantime I'll potter on with other knitted baby things.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, woke to the sound of heavy rain on the roof, but it is now partly overcast with the sun trying hard but it is very weak. I haven't looked at the forecast but more rain wouldn't surprise me.

I finished an octopus puzzle yesterday, but I'm not very happy with it. The yarn must have been slightly thinner than the stuff I normally use, and the stuffing shows through, even though I always use a smaller size hook than the recommended one. Rats. I will just have to hope someone at the market falls in love with him. I will do another in a different colour. They don't seem to take long.

Knit and natter this morning. I need something "no think" to take as I seem to easily lose concentration when I'm trying to listen to two or three conversations at once. I might take the mile a minute blanket I started a while back. I've done several of the centre strips so could do the edges of them, and start sewing it together. Or I might just start something else!

This afternoon I'm going to start putting the main bedroom back together. I will have to get someone to help me with the kingsize mattress, which is in the lounge, it's too heavy for me to do on my own - I think. I'm pleased with the new look, but I want to get new curtain tracks before I re-hang the curtains, so that will mean a trip to Kerikeri or possibly even Whangarei, and I'm not sure that I can fit them into the car. I'll have to measure. Be a real pain if I can't.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
We have grey clouds and a thin blue line lol.. Has been raining most of the night tho.
Everyone is busy now.. I have three birthdays before Christmas.

I have to sew the bow to the girl doll today and pack them up and pack the blanket up too ready for posting tomorrow.

MrP made a real effort yesterday.. but this morning wanted to stay in bed.. Many years ago one of our very wise drs told us, you Lay in bed you stay in bed and thats where you die.. As in the fluid will build up in your lungs and your muscles will be so weak that you wont be getting out of the bed.
Hes Up... He keeps apologising cos hes no help and a pain for me, I told him straight that so long as he tries Im happy. Its when he doesnt that I get frustrated.

Finished the male snow persons main body piece yesterday and started the ladies.. Not so many colour changes or number of pieces.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :)

No wool from Deramores, maybe today. I'm still knitting the wee cardy for the baby, doing the sleeves. It doesn't normally take this long to knit it but it's hard to concentrate at the moment as dad is back in hospital.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Wow Kiwimade it really is a rough patch for you... Hope Dad improves quickly for you all.

I have vowed to myself to try and not get snappy with him today exspecially. Its our 27th wedding anniversary.. Mind you I was snappy thatb day too cos his Father annoyed the heck out of me. lol

Shopping this morning.. MrP will stay home. Hes not up to walking out to the car as yet. But he is trying which is good.

New World has a two day sale on so Ill be getting a few extra things, stuff I normally buy but at much better prices.

Finished the main body piece of the Lady Snow person last night. Theres only 17 pieces all up for them both together so it wont take long to get them done. And only the body and arms to stuff.

Have a fab day everyone

Good morning all - I have just waved goodbye to the worst house guests I have ever encountered -distant relations of my old boy - I truly think they had booked into somewhere with a full time maid! It has been a very long week
Sorry to hear your Dad is back in hospital kiwimade - I know people say he us on the best place which us true - but it is so emotionally draining and tiring when their health seems to see saw
Popeye you are so tight about MrP only needing to try - it makes such a difference.I remember when the oxygen people came and installed the 24/7 machine - one of the nurses said to my husband that there are two races you can run - if you want to reach the finish line quickly don't get out of bed and move around - they put this long tube so he could even get upstairs
Looking forward to seeing photos of your toys Popeye
