Good Morning Ladies. Thanks for sharing your bird pudding recipe Kiwimade. I will busy the next few days, so will make it early next week. You must be so happy you with your blanket just about finished. Have you something in mind with the wool you ordered and now waiting to be knitted up?

Enjoy your morning out at the chemist and going op-shopping later. Popeye. It's been a while since I 've been op shopping. You will know when it right to pick up your knitting needles. What great bargains you got from the fruit and veg shop.

Please past on my best wishes to your mother and hope you all enjoyed the Birthday Lunch yesterday Gerry.

Having a friend over tomorrow for lunch and hopefully doing some crafting. Will that the plan at this stage. My friend plans to do Her Masters in Art next year. Just had a couple of years away from studying. I am looking forward to her visit. She also will help me with a computer problem I have at present. Just maybe some photos will appear You never know.

Time to move, it a lovely warm sunny day here and hopefully the same for the w/end. Been outside and fulled my wheelie bin.
Taken Mr S out later today and fingers crossed he use his walker. For some reason, he does not like it and only uses his cutches.means he not walking as much as he should. Men!!

Have a great day and hope you all found time to do some crafting

morning ladies :)

I'll be visiting dad today, one more week with him in the rest home and he comes back to us. And the Fluffy One goes home tomorrow. Our boy will miss her.

My friend found the standard roses I was looking for and bought them for me. She thought I needed cheering up and when I offered to pay she said no, one was a freebie as it wasn't looking so healthy and the other two were bowed so she got them discounted. So I planted them yesterday (ribs told me I had worked lol) and can't wait for them to flower. MrK cut some stakes for me to stake them up and they should straigten up easily as they grow with proper tieing up. Funnily enough, the rose she got for free as it wasn't the healthiest looking, had the best root system on it out of the three. I have some cuttings from prunings and if they take, she will have some of those.

Almost there with the blanket. One more 'strip' to do and then the top and bottom edges. So I will finish it today. I had a throw in mind for the rust/orange yarn but have changed my mind. A good excuse to have a trawl through my patterns and internet.

Happy knitting :)

With your green thumb Im sure the roses will be fine Kiwimade.. Lovely your friend picked up on you needing to be cheered up.

Yep sun is good for the unwell Flick.. It is beautiful out there.

Im going into the Cave. Ive changed it from the spare room, office, craft room. lol
I ordered some elastic off here to replace the elastic on MrPs knickers.. The elastic on mens pants tend to go faster than womens I reckon. So to do that I need to at least be able to reach the sewing Machine lol.

Right a few things to do on here and then Im off..

Have a fab day everyone

We have a sunny day here, so washing is on, will send Miss 15 out to sit in it at some point, we were back at the drs yesterday and had more blood tests, she is rather jaundice at present, just adding more symptoms.

Flick, did you see The Project last night? There is a condition where the brain is tricked into thinking you are in pain. I don't know if it is relevant to your family but made interesting viewing anyway. (If I have offended you, I'm sorry)

Morning ladies, not a terribly successful day at the market yesterday, I made 3 sales in the end but it was hard work, and it was a miserable day and freezing cold in the hall, everything was coming in looking frozen, you would think they would be falling over themselves to buy nice warm possum/merino gloves and scarves, but no, they weren't. One lady even said "I would buy a scarf if I didn't already have a wardrobe full of scarves!" Yeah right.

Oh well, another day today. Don't have to be there quite so early as everything is already set up. I shall put a warmer jersey on and will wear my hand knitted wool socks with a different pair of boots so my feet will be warm. They have decided that we will pack up at 2.30 instead of 3 if there is nobody much around, so not such a long day, and when it's slow, that's a good thing. We will only stay on later if there are heaps of people there. There are no more markets then until October.

Have a super day everyone, hope you get to relax with some knitting and if it's cold, snug up by the fire.

morning ladies :)

Well the blanket is finished, took a while last evening to do the last bit as The Furry One decided it was the perfect place to sleep while I crocheted. Which was fine until I needed to turn the blanket around to do the other end. I got there eventually. It's a combination of knitting and crochet and uses my stash. I don't like having a huge stash so it feels good to have put it to good use. Now to start the throw for the couch.

Morning everyone.. a Tad chilly here. But it will be a beautiful day.

Love the blanket Kiwimade. If Id seen the wool at ball stage I would have wondered if they would look good together. But they certainly do look awesome together.. Lol the Furry one always loves your work.

I got the cave sorted yesterday. Its now organised Kaos lol.. But I even sat and re-sewed the handles on a cool shopping bag I was given at our recycle centre last time we were there.

Im going to dust all then ornaments etc today.. Simply cos I feel like doing it, and can straighten things that Missy has "Looked" at with her paws lol.

Hopefully knitting later

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) haha popeye, I didn't care it the wool matched or not, I just wanted to use it up. And I knew there would be neutral type colour in between so it didn't matter.

I've started the throw and decided to crochet this time. And typical me lol, got 19 rows in and decided it was too 'floppy' so unpicked and doubled the wool. Luckily I have heaps of it so will have enough.

I'm visiting dad today, he's gone very frail and confused. Hopefully I can chat to him and find out what's what.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Well I think it all looks lovely together Kiwimade.. True Random which is something I struggle with.
Is the crochet blanket the autumn colours?

I finally picked the needles up last night. Finished the main body piece for the boy. Did the hair and half his trousers too. So Im pleased with what I got done. And hopefully more later too.

Missy has promised to help me go through the hospital bag, I want to find a comb I have had since I was 18. And Ill take out anything that needs changing or updating. Then I will put it in the cave and hopefully Missy will realise that Im not going away again.

Hope all goes well with your dad Kiwimade, they do tend to get frail in the rest homes. They have no worries so i feel they dont have to try to be strong any longer.

Did anyone see the advert on tv last night, I think after 6pm, with the Daughter seeing her Father in a rest home, with no interaction, then someones phone played a tune and his eyes lit up. So a nurse downloaded some musid onto an mp3 player and the guy came to life listening to the music? I sobbed... it was just soo lovely. Only time Ive seen it.

Have a fab day everyone

Hope your dad will talk to you when you visit Kiwimade.
You are so right Popeye that they do go down when in resthomes sometimes.
I.m off to see Mr S. Had to send him into the hospital around 3 this morning. One thing it's not his heart that been ruled out for now. Not sure what going on.
Will visit again later today. I have a special Birthday luncheon to go today.
Figures crossed I make it.
Have a great day everyone.

Afternoon ladies. I'm not sure where the morning went, I don't feel as though I achieved much, although I didn't get up very early. The market was much better yesterday - actually had one of my better days there - and when I came home I thought about mowing a lawn, as it was quite dry but I had a long phone call from my son and then did some tidying up as I had friends coming in the evening. Woke to the sound of heavy rain this morning so that was the end of the lawn mowing plan.

It was very cold here all weekend and I lit the fire both evenings when I came home from the market. It's a cold grey dull day here again and quite cool. Roll on summer - I'm beginning to wish I had stayed longer in England (although I was ready to come home).

The blanket looks lovely kiwimade. No wonder you had a little visitor to "break it in". I have the same problem whenever I set down to knit or crochet. A little furry thing decides that my lap looks good.

Right, cup of tea time, and I will sit with my feet up and relax and enjoy it, not that I feel I've earned a rest, but why not?

Enjoy your afternoon/evening everyone.

Ill post a couple of pics shortly and thank again :)

Afternoon all - beautiful blue sky day but the wind sure had a nip out at the dog park - yesterday my 13 year old grandson came out and walked with me - really enjoyed his company - his grandfather would be very proud of him - he just made the HB rep rugby team and his sister who is 11 made the under 14 hockey reps - she had a very difficult birth - they didn't think she would survive the childcare flight to wgtn and the best outcome they predicted for her was cerebral palsy if she survived - boy is she proving them wrong !
Had a wonderful day with Mum on her birthday -she laughed at us all looking for our glasses to look at her cards etc - I have a lovely photo of her reading her cards without her glasses - one of her old neighbours popped in - he first met her when she was 93 - she was up the ladder clearing out the gutters! imagine if somebody had told her parents the day she was born she was going to live 100 years - I thought my cow of a sister up north might have at least sent a card but nothing - she fell out with Mum over a piece of china worth about $200 about 15 years ago -Mum gave it to one of the grandaughters and evidently my sister had told Mum she wanted it - I was the last one to fall out with my sister - about 2 years ago - thought about giving her a call but knowing her it wouldn't have ended well .When Mum was 99 my old boy planted her a big pot with freesias - the first one flowered on her birthday - she was tickled pink - he would have been as well
Kiwimade - check your Dads medication - when mum first went in the home they were giving her far too many sleeping pills - we couldn't work out what was going on as she started to go downhill real quick -
I saw that program flick as well - the brain does weird things and they made the point it targets females - but never stop taking her to the doctor - my kid sister went from a very fit sportswoman to a shell of herself not long after she had her two boys - they tested her for everything - the diagnosis went from tapanui flu to chronic fatigue syndrome to it all being in her head - My Dad finally took her to a bloke who diagnosed her by looking into her eyes of all things - we all thought Dad was getting ripped off but he diagnosed a very serious liver disease and she ended up having a liver transplant - her liver was storing iron but over a period of maybe 3 years it hadn't been picked up -
Wish you would come and clear out my craft mess Popeye - my brother went upstairs for the first tine for ages - came down shaking his head - asked if I was thinking of opening a wool shop
Sunflower hope Mr S has picked up again
Kuaka I know exactly what you are saying about selling at a market - I used to help my friend a lot in Bathurst - she made beautiful socks out of her own wool - she spent so much time dyeing it and knitting fabulous fair isle designs - and the remarks about who would pay that for socks when you could get 10 pairs at Kmart used to make my blood boil -
Haven't had lunch yet and just noticed the time !

Ohh Mary-poppins they are lovely. I started crochet when I was about 15ish I think. I know it was before I finished school. And its only been in the last 2-3 years that I learnt how to do straight rows. lol..I could only do squares. And Im 53 lol...
My trouble was I never learnt to do anything more, Cos Mum would do it... well I should have thought about that fact that she wouldnt be here forever lol.

Ohh Gerry Im glad you had a nice time with your Mum on her Birthday.. did she have the KFC she wanted? Your snooty sister needs to pull her head in.. but she is the one missing out and hopefully oneday will regret it. It would have made things strained probably if she was there.

Kuaka Im glad the market was better on the second day... Ive always found it soo hard to price things so you at least cover your costs but often you dont make any extra on them.. Some people have no respect for the work that goes into these things.

I have managed to get the hair, the other half of the trousers and started the Boys Beret Hat. So its been a productive afternoon. Im glad Im making the time to knit again.

Right a quick look around and rthen back to my needles. Will need my light tho its a dark green Im working with

morning ladies :) Am so glad you had the time with your mum, Gerry.

I visited dad yesterday and he was a happy chappy. Said he was having a down day when my sister visited. Yesterday we had our water bore repaired so I videoed the pipes being taken out of the ground by the crane (yes it's going to be very expensive... sigh) and showed dad while I was visiting. He loved that I had videoed it as this is the sort of stuff he likes to watch.

And just because things happen in threes, MrK's big sander died and the computer router (which was new a month ago) also died. Spark replaced the modem and we're waiting for a quote for repairs to the sander. I was thinking of surprising MrK with a new one but now the bill for the water pump is coming so maybe not just yet.

I'm much happier with the throw having the wool doubled. It's still amazingly light though. Even MrK said you can see the pattern better and it would have been too small with just double knit.

I see the Craft & Quilt Fair is coming to Hamilton in September. Might go along and have a look, will see how things pan out.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

So pleased your Dad was in a happier frame of mind Kiwimade.. Its soo hard to deal with when your watching from the outside as they say. Good that you thought to do the video.. Blokes like that kind of stuff.
Mind you I like watching things out of the norm get done too lol.. Ouchies re the bill. but gotta have water eh.

My Vacc is screaming at me.. well quietly screaming.. The battery is nearly flat so Im charging it. But the canister is also full. And I have my dressings done this morning. So Im taking a canister with me, which Ill only use if they dont have one. So it keeps telling me to change the canister, but I wont be doing it till the dressing is done.
Im going to disconnect it when I go to do my blood and post a letter up the road before getting to the clinic.

Did the other half of the troubers yesterday and the main piece of the sort of beret type cap for the boy. Its going to look quite neat the way the decreases work.

Right a few things to do on here and then it will be time to leave.

MrP is on courier watch today.. I ordered 3 rolls of elastic off here. 30 metre rolls. I hope its good like most of the buyers say.. And ordered a weed sprayer... Half the cost of the ones in the warehouse and half the cost it would cost me to go pick it up.

Have a fab day all

Good Morning all, i have managed to complete another baby blanket for a good friend in Australia who is due in September. Its a beautiful grey as she hasn't found out what she is having yet. I'm 34 and wish i learnt to crochet years ago lol.
My next project is a blanket for my 6 year old girl, i have bought the chunky knit wool/yarn and its a really deep but vibrant pink so look forward to doing that. I do find tho that not a lot of other things are getting done at home.... once i start i don't want to stop.
Have a great day everyone. I have to work until 4.30 but am counting down the hours until dinner is cooked and dishes done so i can sit and crochet :)

Morning ladies - just - our weather hasn't really improved up here, we've had rain and it's very grey - little bit of blue sky - but quite cold and windy. Not really very nice at all, I feel I should be sitting by the fire knitting, but I am going out this afternoon.

Talking about the strange things people say at the markets. I had one lady in on Sunday who spied my crocheted owl tea cosies, and said she had a friend who adores owls. I showed her a little owl soft toy. She picked it up, said how cute it was, then she bought a completely different style of tea cosy, just two squares sewn together with a few crocheted flowers on top and a hedgehog. So I guess the friend didn't get a gift.

mary-poppins, have you tried the corner to corner crochet blankets. I love them, and once you get going on them, they are easy. The trick is to flip the work rather than turn it. There's some good videos on youtube. The other one I like is "mile a minute". Check them out.

I can't imagine what it's like to not know how to knit or crochet. I remember mum teaching me to knit when I was around 5 (because it was around the time I started school), but my gran had taught me to crochet long before that - I don't remember her teaching me, don't remember not being able to do it.

Right, time for lunch.

Have a super afternoon - and stay warm.

Good afternoon all - the weather can't seem to make up its mind here - wind us chilly
My Mum was a hopeless teacher she was such a perfectionist with her craft and looking back she expected too much I think but I wish I had listened - she always told me my tension was too loose and she is right - the only way I can do neat stocking stitch is to knit into the back of the knit stitch. She always knitted with these kid gloves on and when she finished her last row for the day if she was knitting she would transfer her knitting to something that looked very much like the cable we use with DPNs - if you leave your knitting on the needles she used to say the row that sat on your needles would stretch - embroidery was just as bad as she insisted the back had to be as tidy as the front - my sister was left handed which was even more difficult - I often think when I look at the beautiful things she made what a pain it must have been having to look after 5 kids and help Dad as well - like you Mary Poppins I get so engrossed in what I am working on normal things seem to get in the way
Popeye she had her KFC - and Robies baker makes lovely red velvet cup cakes so she had several of those as well - she came out with this really funny ditty she said her father used to say all the time about a woman talking or nagging while a man us trying to eat - I must ask her to say it and I will share it - was very funny
Well better get the groceries put away and the washing in then I can get my knitting out

Morning ladies, a sunny morning but windy and I suspect not very warm, but I won't know for sure till I venture out later to knit and natter.

Yesterday I sat and made a list of what I would like to make before the next craft market in October - I may be a bit ambitious but the list is quite long. I will have to make a real effort to get it all done.

Last night I did quite a bit of knitting, but then I dozed off in the chair when the late news came on and didn't wake till 1.15, but I went to bed and slept till after 8 so I must have been tired.

I had better get myself organised or I will be late (as usual) going to knitting.

Have a super day everyone.

Had a busy morning yesterday with bloods, dressing change , supermarket etc. was quite sore last night, and still a bit this morning.

But no plans for today, other than read the paper and knit. Just a couple of rows on the Boys jacket. Thats the last of the bigger pieces. Have to make the tassle for his cap but will do that when Im putting him together.

Wild and wooly here, but no rain at the mo.

Right a quick look at Fb and then Ill brave the wind to get the paper lol

Wow Kuaka your going to be busy. but I like having a list, that way each time you cross one off you feel you are acheiving something.

Ive finished the jacket bits and dont one part of the arm.. Small pieces but they all take time. Im feeling very confident with my choice of colours, now I see everything come together. 11 pieces to go, and dsome are practically cast on and cast off again lol... Spend more time fishing the wool out of the bag than knitting lol.. have to grab a black straw too..

OOh thats soemthing I have to think about too. Stocking up on straws for toys. Since they want to pahse those out too.

Goodmorning Ladies. Will our little man is now wrapped up in his wool blanket. last night. Pictures to come of blanket. He now just over 6lb, but still very small.
I have cut a small blanket out of a large one and going to blanket stitch around it. Well that the plan.
Taken Mr S fingerless mittens over to him today. Complaining of very cold fingers and hands. Yes, still in the hospital.

Will have to have a look at my wool stash and plan something else to knit. Perhaps a shawl for my self to wrap around me during days/nights as I sit beside Mr S.
Sun is out and it looks to be a lovely sunny day. Would love to be out in the garden, but it will have to wait as I need to go over to the hospital to catch up with the doctors this morning.
How is your dad going Kiiwimade? Good to see you are visiting at the rest home. Try and have some me time and enjoy it. Lamb babysitting had lol. We are seeing a lot around here now. Just hope it does not rain too much.

Good news about the healing of your wound Popeye. Please tell us what us what you use the straws for.
What a list you have of things you want to knit and sew for markets later in the year. Kuaka.
Well, ladies not sure just how much time I will have over the next few weeks to post. Try and read your posts and let you know how things are going for me.
Gerry would like to catch up and have a coffee with you as we live nearby. Looking forward to reading the ditty your mother told you.
Enjoy your day. Happy Crafting ladies.

Morning everyone.
A much calmer day out there today.

My wee grandgirl is visiting before I go shopping today so that will be neat.

Sunflowers I use straws in the toys I make. Have used black ones before when doing some Bagpipes, and used coloured ones for other parts of dolls or their bits and pieces.. the black I will use, hopefully today is for a lamplight the choir boy is holding.. they are good cos they are safe to throw in the washing machine. I never put cardboard in my toys. Ive used cut up bottles, ice cream containers etc if something needs to be held in shape... I stuff the toys so they can stand on their own.

At one of my wound vacc changes the nurse didnt use all of the black foam rubber, she was going to throw it out... I stopped her lol.. I said its very hard to get black foam rubber, so Ill be using some of that to stuff the light part of the lantern too.. So I will be using it sparingly.. but white fibre or foam rubber shows up terribly on black knitting. So it will be nice to know I can make use of it.
I only have one bauble and the two lantern bits to knit now. And I want to get the lantern made up so I can show the nurse tomorrow when they come to do my change.

Am sore this morning, both my back and my tummy, So having a day knitting wasnt helpful lol.. But I have shopping today so that will make up for it.
Have to go up to the recycle centre for a pot lid. I dropped one the other day and of course its all chipped on the piece thats under the nob part that protects your fingers from the lid.. Handy being able to buy just a lid, or even better if I can get the nob... but if not Im going to bung the lid and try and get it hanging for the birds.

Im considering knitting myself another cardigan for next winter.. I have a lovely old fashioned pink, but also have a lovely pale apple green. If I can remember what pattern I used for the one I did a few years ago, Ill use that but chnage the button system, cos you pick up the stitches and then its folded over too, and Im not fond of it. I might look through my buttons first actually and that will decide the colour lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Fed the two lambs yesterday, one each lol. It doesn't matter how old you are, there is real pleasure in seeing their wee tails go like mad as they drink their milk. We haven't heard yet how the kids got on with the Mud Run but they will tell us about it soon enough.

Sounds like you are on a roll flick lol. And yes, when I am working on something new I just want to get on with it. Now the kids have left home it's a bit easier to do that.

The crochet throw is growing quickly, I had forgotten how much faster it is to crochet. I love the rust/orange colour too.

Time to feed the waxeyes, have you had a chance to make the bird puddings, sunflowers?

Happy knitting :)

i go through stages of being on a roll, hehe. I have all the squares I need, now it’s stitching it all together, I have 4 rows stitched, 7 to go, then stitch those rows together and do a border, it’s going to be my biggest blanket yet.

Im a strange one, I enjoy putting them together.. My largest blanket was 367 squares.. in red and white.. Its mine, I wouldnt make one that big for anyone else.. I havent put in on the bed yet tho, cos I dont want cat fur on it yet lol

morning ladies :)

Yesterday I burned a lot of old personal papers, I don't like them being binned, even ripped to bits. I keep thinking it's too easy for people to see our personal stuff if in the recycling and the wind catches paper, heaven knows where it will end up. So I can tick that job off my 'to-do' list.

I'll visit dad this morning and while in town use the vacum cleaner at the car wash to vacum the car. For a couple of bucks it saves me lugging our vacum outside and hooking up an extension cord.

This throw is crocheting up very quickly, I'm almost at the border.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Had awesome thunder and lightening this morning and alot of rain.

Our town was stretched yesterday, two car accidents, opposite sides of town and serious. One was on the tvnz website, but I didnt see the news.

I got the lantern knitted and made last night. I got the sprayer delivered and in the box was a heap of plastic, which I thought yeah at least they are recycling but means that I was able to use some of it too, once I got over my anti plastic stage lol.. I was able to spread some of it over my tray table and then use the spray glue safely without covering things with it. So yes it was good they sent it to me lol

So today I will be starting to put the dolls together. A while since I made any toys, at least a couple of years I think. So we are delaying the vaccuuming until the worst is over. Cos it doesnt matter how careful you are, you end up with bits of wool and stuffing everywhere lol.

Nurse will be here today to change my dressing. Which is good cos the itching is driving me potty lol.. And its actually hurting quite a bit now. Last hurrah before its fully healed I guess.

Have a fab day all

Morning ladies, it seems ages since your op popeye, it must seem like an eternity for you. Hope you are almost fully healed.

I woke this morning to the sound of rain hammering on the roof and distant thunder, and then an enormous bang which was thunder overhead, the windows rattled, the bed shook and little puss didn't bat an eyelid, curled up on the bed beside me. I can only imagine what the lightning was like, but I didn't see it because I have blackout curtains in my bedroom, which is dark anyway.

It is now nice and sunny and hardly any wind, a better day than yesterday. I did mow one of my lawns yesterday but it was so long and still quite wet so it wasn't easy. I wanted to do the other three, but one was as far as I got. The others will have to wait to dry out for a few days. It won't matter, nobody else is going to do it for me, so they will wait for me.

I've already ticked one project of my "to do" list, but I've added two more. At this rate, I will never finish it.

Coffee time.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning all I have mucked around so much this morning - it now looks like rain so don't think we will be going walking - Ash is still snuggled up in bed !
We'll have spent the last couple of days counting my blessings and thanking my lucky stars - my oldest son is away on a business trip and went over that bridge in Genoa two hours before it collapsed. I received a text from him saying he was OK before I had heard the news luckily .He said it is just an unbelievable sight. Has been to the US and to lots of places in Europe where he has been before and said everywhere is far hotter than usual - even Helsinki and Frankfurt - goes to the UK tomorrow so knows what to expect .
Kuaka I have asked my friend in Sydney to send me the links to the cotton bags she makes for the market - she also does packs of four cotton face cloths - evidently the cruise ship passengers love them - and bright cotton children's sun hats
Looking forward to seeing your toys Popeye - used to use straws when I was making cloth dolls -used to collect up all sorts of plastic bits and pieces - broke my heart when we moved to Oz and I couldn't take all my collection of bits and pieces with me
Hope Mr S is on the improve and feeling well enough to come home
Getting decidedly darker here now - might just have wasted my time putting the washing out .The storms around Tokoroa have been incredible .When we were in Bathurst it was snowing and we had an electrical storm at the same time - is evidently very rare but because Bathurst is so far above sea level it wasn't the first - it's something i will never forget

Yes Kuaka it has felt like a year since my surgery but its 3.5 months and counting lol. Ive stood up to walk off and forgotten the pump more often in the last fortnight than ever before .

Gerry I am turning into a recycle horder I think.. Im saving all sorts of things. For the day that I will use it. but I do try and keep it all tidy and like with like, so I can put my hand straight on it.

Still raining here..

The elastic arrived and it is good and strong. The lable on the bag says there is 46 meters on the roll so if thats true I have 136 meters lol.. Im set for life for that width

Havent done any sewing up, I got side tracked but I have prepped everything for tea, so I can sew longer later.

Waiting for the nurse to come now

Morning Everyone

Alot of rain through the night and a bit windy but not too bad today.

I have managed to get the main body piece and face done of my girl doll.. Didnt realise how much I missed sewing them up and stuffing them.

This morning tho I have a mission in the kitchen. A friends hubby managed to get me 4 Blardy Huge, cauliflowers for $6.. I will be doing photos later. So Ill be blanching and freezing them. Will only do 2 today and do the other two tomorrow, cos tray space is at a premium.. Ill sit and cut them up tho, so that makes the amount of standing to a minimum.. But oh it will be soo good for my head lol.

Then hopefully it will be fine enough later to clean my vaccuum out cos I want to spray for insects etc tomorrow. And our homecare lady suggested doing the vacc too since its been used on the floor.. I woudlnt have thought of that.. Shes soo wise.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) A mucky morning for me too today but that's ok. I got done what I wanted to get done.

Holy moly Gerry, your son had someone smiling down on him that day! That bridge collapse is massive and so many people killed.

Our son phoned yesterday and said that thunder storm was right over their house around 6.00am and it was so loud the whole house shook. It's a 1960's solid brick house so takes a lot to shake it!

Four more rows on the throw and it's done. I spread it out on the floor yesterday and am very happy with it. It's hard to see the pattern when it's scrunched up on my lap. It has the Furry One's seal of approval as well as I noticed there was a bit of white doggy fur on it already.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning Ladies, visited Jack Frost visited overnight. I am just waiting for it to warm up a bit as I have a load of firewood to put away. We run out this year and we can still get some cold wet weather here in the Bay.

The blanket and hat have now got a home. Will put up a photo up later today. Sorry, no baby photo. with blanket Kiwimade.
Going to knit another pair of fingerless mittens for Mr S as his hand/fingers are very cold.
Will knit a couple of hats for Baby T's sister and brother as well. Dive into my stash later day.
Popeye have a look at this trader she sells elastic, tape, buttons etc at good prices. Have got some bits and pieces from her. dilligaf-dah. Good hear you are enjoying knitting your toys again.

Yes, I need to make a list of what I would like to knit and sew over the next few months A girlfriend and I will do a couple of markets in Nov/Dec if all goes well. Not easy sometimes planning what to make for our stalls.
Time to move, the temp moving up.
Have a great day everyone.
