I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning ladies, what a miserable day, it is fair chucking it down and quite windy so the rain is coming down sideways! I certainly won't be doing any gardening today. Kiwimade it is probably time I pruned my plum and apple trees isn't it? Mr K always used to do it. Stepson hacked them when he was here last year and they never seem to fruit very well. I think they have been sulking.

Supposed to go to knit and natter this morning but I don't know whether to bother or not looking out the window. I might just stay home, although I've got an appointment for a haircut at 12.30. It feels a bit scruffy and then I realised I haven't had it done since before I went on the cruise in April, usually I go about every 6 weeks.

I have been searching for a pretty cowl that I made last year and it seems to have vanished into thin air. I think there's a big "black hole" in this house that eats things. I've still never found my jewellers loupe that I put away in the wrong place before Christmas. I knew as I put that away I should put it where it always goes, but went ahead and put it somewhere else! The cowl however is a mystery. It was an awful thing to knit, so much so that I chucked the pattern out, but not to be beaten I've just printed the pattern again and I'm going to do another. Glutton for punishment.

Right, well I had better get organised. If I don't go to knit and natter I might do some sewing.

And no, Gerry, it's not double dipping. It's a waste if you don't take advantage of sunflowers' kind offer.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning from a wet cold Hawkes Bay. Fire going since 8 this morning. Have to go out with Mr S to his Dr's appointment this afternoon..

Had lovely day yesterday went to K & N in the morning after missing a couple of weeks. Worked on my blanket after unpicking 5 rows. In the afternoon joined some other ladies and we watched Land Girls. Based in England during the WW2. Two more afternoons to go for the first series and then we will watch the next two series. Was thinking you would enjoy it, Kuaka.Enjoyed looking at the countryside.

Know the feeling when you put something away and then have to spend time looking for it. I move my winter shoeboxes around sometime in the Summer and one of my good winter shoes is missing.

Good day for us all to knit, sew or do some other crafting as the whole of the North Island is cold and wet today. So go for it ladies!
Cheers.

Enjoy your day

Afternoon all - awful day here matches my mood not going to venture out - funeral yesterday was huge over 600 people - sad to think he worked until he was 72 because he was still fit and healthy and loved his job - only retired in Aoril - had booked several overseas trips - to be killed on a crossing - he was my husbands best friend and work mate -
Anyway enough depressing stuff -I saw a pattern on a blog unusual crochet blanket - will log onto my computer later and put a photo up - then tomorrow I might catch up with sunflower hopefully on my way over to Skeinz
Can't remember now Kuaka if my hairdresser said your hair grows quicker or slower in the winter - one or the other! I have watched Land Girls really enjoyed it .was watching a series in Oz something about keep the hone fires burning or something similar - it was based around the CWI - have tried several ways of finding it to watch her but not knowing exactly what the name was doesn't help
Soup weather today that's for sure - Ash doesn't look remotely interested in getting off his bed!

gerry, I've bought another skein of the yarn from our local haberdashery and the name is La Paz, it's 75% Polyacryl, 15% mohair and the rest alpaca. It's made in Turkey so maybe you could find it online? My only gripe is the colourway doesn't 'blend', you end up with stripes. But it is beautiful and soft.

OMG don't mention searching for things. I've nearly driven myself around the bend.
This week is volunteer week and hubby nd I said we do search and rescue here in this house! I've lost a charger for the keyboard. ..
I would love one of those cowl things or a woollen collar that buttons up. Not sure if they're the same thing.

Morning ladies, the weather is absolute cr*p at the moment, was all day yesterday. I went to knit and natter, but I phoned a friend first to see if she was going, as I didn't want to be the only one stupid enough to turn up in the shocking weather. There were only 6 of us. Then I went for a long overdue haircut and when I came home I lit the fire, even though it wasn't really cold, it was just so miserable. Today is looking no better.

I might knuckle down and make the new curtain linings for my big curtains which I've been planning and putting off for ages. I think the new linings will be much warmer than the old ones, which are supposed to be thermal but are so thin they aren't much better than polycotton sheets now!

So yesterday afternoon I made a big pot of pumpkin soup and had some for my tea, and I put my feet up and knitted. Intended to knit last night but dozed off in front of the fire. Ooops.

At one stage a branch flew off one of the kauri trees, hit the bi-fold door and made so much noise I nearly jumped out of my skin, and I was surprised the glass didn't break.

Puss went out this morning and was gone all of about 90 seconds before she was back in and curled up in front of the fire which I haven't lit yet - dopey cat doesn't seem to have noticed that.

Right, cup of tea time. I certainly won't be gardening today. Take care on the roads kiwimade.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning Ladies, What a night rain and windy here as well. Mr S was not well in evening and took himself off to bed. He picked up a bug and just after 2 am was taken into hospital. I finally got to sleep at 4 am. He spent the night in A & E so will mostly sleep today, now he been moved to a ward. I'm going over later today.

Trees can be a problem in high winds. We have cleared a couple of trees away from the house during the summer.
Hope you enjoy your visit to Rotorua Kiwimade.
Time I moved as I need to do some jobs to do before I leave to go across to the hospital.
Gerry got your message. Will make contact on FB.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Afternoon everyone
I was oout early to get the shopping done before homecare and the nurse came.
So out home and car back in the shed before 8am.

Then my friend and my grand gurl came to visit and I got my frst cuddle today.. And she gave me a bag of chocolate coated snowballs. Her big blue eyes were sparkling. I gave her some chocolate .
Nurse rang and said she wouldnt be here till 1pm, so I got to have a loong shower and now sitting with a towel over the wet dressings.

Lawns have been done. Havent had rain since just after 7am. And they are moving them to 3 weekley for the next couple of mows.

So now waiting on the nurse and I have my pill trays to fill and Im done for the day.

Safe travels Kiwimade, hope you have a lovely time... Hope all is ok with MrS.

morning ladies :) Another frosty morning but it is going to be a gorgeous day. It's meant to rain over the weekend so I'll get outside and mow lawns, rake leaves and start pruning my roses today. A bit early but it takes me a while to get round them all.

Our visit to my sisters-in-law was lovely, had a long frank discussion about one of their health issues and it seems she has been given roughly three years. Two of MrK's sisters live together and are very close so it has been a tough week. But it does make you stop and think about what is important in life that's for sure.

I hope MrS is feeling better sunflowers, and will be home soon. But in saying that, it does give you a small break for now.

Coffee, then dad's caregiver will be here and then outside for me. Knitting this afternoon.

Happy knitting :)

Morning Everyone
A frost here too Kiwimade, so it wil be a beautiful day.

They are doing the fibre on our street at the mo, so its all busy out there. Funny tho cos I thought they had finished it. So now we have a hole on ur property for a while. Between the footpath and our fence. They are pretty good at blocking it off, but it doesnt make it safe for parents parking out front to pick up kids from school.

Will have to nip up the road after the nurse has been this morning, a couple of things I forgot yesterday and my repeats.

Was rather sore last night so took some big pain meds. Ive been coughing a bit and you cant hold everything and try and cover yur mouth all at once lol.

Nice the famiy is close Kiwimade.. And yep MrP has been told to make the most of each day cos they cant do anything more for him. But we have done that everyday anyway.

Right a quick squizz around here and then the ladies will arrive.

Have a good day everyone

Afternoon ladies, what a treat to see the sun, although we now have some clouds whereas first thing there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I'm thinking it will take some time for the lawns to dry out so that I can mow them. Apparently we had 150mm of rain in two days, most of it in 36 hours. Quite a bit of flooding up this way.

Just back from knit and natter - went to the Friday session as well this week. But now I must knuckle down and make a new lining for the curtain on the bi-fold door. I made a new one for the ranch slider curtain yesterday and because the lining is much thicker and heavier than the old one, it made a big difference to the temperature last night. Sadly I only have enough of this particular lining material to do the bi-fold curtain. The others will have to wait and next time I'm in Whangarei I will try to buy some more.

Daughter sent me a list of "goodies" that she wants me to take her, including Jaffas, Snifters, Peanut slabs, scorched almonds, K bars, some crisps I've never heard of and various other things. No mention of pineapple lumps which she always wants and I've already bought! Oh well. There were a few things I couldn't get, but I think she will be pleased with what I have got her. Just hope there will be enough room in my suitcase for some clothes - hehe!

Right, lunch and then sewing.

Happy knitting everyone.

morning ladies :) lol kuaka, amazing what we miss when we can't have it!

Lawns are mowed, edges are done, including along the concrete paths. Had to use a spade for that bit as I had left it too long. Today I'll finally plant out the rose I grew from a cutting, it's still flowering which is nuts! And I have a delphinium in full bloom as well. There doesn't seem to be any defined seasons for growing anymore.

I'l do some baking today to top up the tins and then knitting later on today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone,
Thats a good list Kuaka, you may struggle to find snifters cos they stopped making them. But have a look on here at crazycandies listings, cos they have alot of the old style lollies. I especially love the old money or cent lollies as they call them on here. Its the only place I can get them from. They are based in New Plymouth.. I havent tried the other lollie sellers but CC are great and very fast delivery.

Was quite sore yesterday. And it didnt help that MrP thinks I should be doing everything now. So he was promptly reminded how long it took him to get over his surgery and mine was alot bigger than his. I mentioned if he helped a little more I might mend faster.. Just needed a gentle reminder. And he did do a couple of things for me..I think more than anything, he does know what Im going through and he has never handled me being in pain. it upsets him majorly.

But good news. The Surgeon and Complex wound Unit are both happy for me to have the bigger wound vacc. And it was ordered early yesterday Morning. So it could go on this morning or Monday, depending if it made it down here yesterday. Ive been looking at before and after photos online and my goodness it makes heaps of difference.

Still no crafting.. but I guess Ill find it again when Im better.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Everyone A good frost here this morning. Now the sun is out so it's slowly getting warmer.

Not sure if I will visit Mr S today or leave it till Sunday. He phoned last night and was sounding cheerful. He has his 3-month checkup on his hip on Monday. They are going to take him down to the villa from the ward. Also, there talk he will coming home Monday.

Good news about the wound vac. Here hoping it starts cleaning it up now Popeye.
What a list you have been given of sweets to take over. Kuaku. I don't know if the NZ Shop is still going up in London. It was close by to NZ House. Stocked alot of goodies that expats missed. Got our L & P drink there many a time. Yes, at times had to share a can with other expats in the store.
Going to have a coffee and then out and see if I can do some gardening. If not just get on and do some housework. That the plan at present.

Have a great day everyone Happy crafting.

Afternoon everyone

Our Homecare lady arrived and the phone rang at the same time. They Had my Vacc. So the nurse said have a quick uncomplicated shower if I hadnt already and she arrived at a good time.
So Im all hooked up.. Its an amazing system. Im not feeling anything, and being deaf as a door post has its benefits lol.. I cant hear anything from the machine. So hopefully this is the start t the end, although I may still need surgical intervention on the smaller part, but the surgeon will decide that when I see him.
And thankfully it has a long hose so I can hang it on the door to go to the toilet and it will sit on the floor or a stool outside the shower.
It was wicked to see it suck in lol.. and we did before photos and will keep a record for me and the drs and Dist nurses etc.

Its beautiful out there now.

Morning everyone
A bit misty here and damp today, which might mean a fine day later.

My first night wired up and it went well. Have to charge the battery overnight and thats worked, Nurse said to Just make sure I remember its there before I walk away, lol which I did. So it hasnt been dropped as yet.

I crochet a strip and joined it over the strap, so I can have the strap over my head and left shoulder. Its quite a weighty little thing. but not hard to get around with. It has sucked some gunk out, she said I wouldnt have much so wont have to worry about changing anything.

I didnt cough much at all yesterday and it made a huge difference to my pain levels.. I was quite comfortable last night for the first time in a while.

Going to ask a friend to help me dig out my knitting patterns later. It might inspire me, especially if I get the christmas themed ones out.

Will see what the day brings as to what I feel like doing.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning Everyone. The sun shining again today so may get some more garden cleaned up. Fingers crossed they may be able to mow our lawns before it rains again later in the week.

Mr S is still in the hospital, will know if he comes home after Doctors round tomorrow. He also has his 3 month checkup appointment at the hospital for his hip in the morning. The staff take him to his appointment for me.
No knitting last night had an early night and read my book. Will do some tonight after I been over to see Mr S.

So pleased to hear you had a good night and the pump doing it job Popeye
Hope you can get someone to get your patterns out. I'm sure you will enjoy planning what you knit next.

Not long now for you to wait Kuaku, and you will be flying off to shores afar.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning ladies, well now that the thick fog has cleared it is looking like another lovely day, sunny, partly cloudy but no wind.

No real plans for today. Yesterday I made new linings for the dining room curtains and was surprised to see there is still some on the roll, so might measure it today and see if there is enough for the ranchslider in the office.

I don't think the lawns will dry out enough for me to mow them, so they will either have to wait until they are dry or they will have to wait till I come back in August. The cold weather should slow them down (I hope).

Going to put clean sheets on the bed and do the washing and might try to catch up with the neighbours, haven't seen them for a week or so now.

Other than that a lazy day, probably squeeze in some knitting at some stage. I've just sat and made a list of things to take with me and things to do before I go. Gosh, I'm going to be busy!

Have a super day everyone.

morning ladies :) The modem for our internet is spitting the dummy so the internet is only on every now and then. Telecom is giving us a new one, once more being a long time customer has paid off and they offered to me for free rather than paying the $99. So, yes please, to that offer! I'll pick it up later today.

I knitted another square for the throw, joined it to the other one and realised I had used a completely different colourway lol. Omg lol, how on earth did I do that. MrK says I'm stressed with dad here as I've been doing some really silly things. Just have to manage it somehow.

Better get moving. Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Ohh nothing worse than the internet being a pain in the butt Kiwimade.

Well yes doing a mistake in your knitting would be worse. Will you undo it or add the colour in, in more places?

Sounds like you are in need of a wee holiday.. Could you go to stay with Maddy before she comes to stay with you?. Even a couple of nights away helps. Says someone whose dr told her she needed 2 weeks away and all I managed was a day out shopping. Met a friend for lunch , had her take home one of MrPs christmas presents cos it was too big to sneak in the door here lol... But it really did help.

As I said above I have been knitting.. Ohh how I had missed it. Ive done both legs and about half way up the tummy. I have my right arm resting on a rolled up towel, so its not sitting on the wound and the left one propped up on a pillow so it helps keep the torn muscle relaxed.
I have all but two colours sorted for the set of make and female carolers, but need help to get into the green and yellow pantry that I need for the boy mainly. But I have plenty to go on for now.

MrP got up to take the heavy rubbish bags out this morning, I didnt know if he remembered that it was recycle day so I took a couple of bottles out , to find him on his hands and knees on the footpath. He had tripped.. I picked him up.. He hung onto the letterbox with one hand, and I held the other one.
This is now the second time that Ive picked someone up and had no idea how or where I got the strength from. The other was MrPs brother.
I havent hurt myself... He on the other hand has a graized cheek, both knees and a cut on his little finger. He said this morning his ribs are sore.. Breathing is ok, Ive suggested he sees what he feels like when he gets up and I can take him to triage if he wants to go. Not that they do anything for ribs, that we cant do. I can bind him up in one of the stretchy belt things we have.
Just got back into my makeshift bed and it hosed down, thunder and lightening.. So Im glad he woke before the alarm went off, cos we would have got soaked.

Have a good day everyone.. Im going to knit hehehe

Good Morning Everyone. Visited Mr S yesterday, that bug has really hit him. Saying that he was bright and chatting. He has 3 month check on hip this morning and depends on the report and how he feels he may be home today.
Popeye sorry to hear Mr P ended up on the path when he was outside this morning. .Hope you are ok after pulling Mr P up.Hope you both had a cuppa and are ok now.. Pleased to hear you are back knitting.

I'm sure you can add some more colour rows in the squares. Kiwimade. Spoke to a friend over the w/end who going to Cambridge later in the week to have a look at the traders and asked if I needed anything. Had to laugh and thanked her. So hope you can make it and enjoy looking around the traders. Sounds like just what you need a day out.

Time to move as I have an appointment this morning and need to get my a into gear.
Have a great day everyone.

morning ladies :) Looking at the weather today makes me wish I was doing what kuaka was doing and packing my bags for a warmer climate!

Not good about MrS and MrP, hopefully they are recovering well.

No wee holiday for me just yet popeye, we have too much going on at the moment family wise with MrK's sister.

I didn't get into town yesterday so I've kept on knitting the squares using wool from my stash for the single bed blanket. For the throw I want the same colourway as it's quite a busy pattern. I'll buy more yarn for it today.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Another wild and woolie night, and no improvment as yet. Had hail at some stage too it woke me hitting the windows.
The Dist nurse will be here today to change the pads on the Vacc. Its going to be interesting to see what has been happening under them. Cos the foam rubber is black. So Im tied up till they have been.
I will need to pop up the road at some stage, my first venture out with the pump.
I have given it a name. Out of the frustration that comes with having to think about doing things that we would do naturally. Its name is Pita.. Pain the the A*se lol.. Its not too bad , it could be worse but its actually quite heavy to have around your neck.

I have 5 rows to do on the main body piece of the Caroler doll. Im enjoying knitting again.

Have a fab day and stay dry and warm everyone

Goodmorning Ladies. Thanks, everyone for your support while I had Mr S in hospital. He came home later yesterday afternoon. Still not sure how he got the chest infection that caused the fever. Arranged for tea to be delivered last night. Slowly cooked neck chops and Hash potatoes filled with veggies. (check out MK Cafe on FB)

Yes, you not the only one who like to pack a bag and head to a warmer climate. Hope you can get into town for more wool for your blanket. Can you get away to Cambridge for a couple hours or so? Received a photo of my friend's wool and goodies. Love her colours. Good Lucy Kiwimade

Hope you have a better day than yesterday Popeye. How is Mr P this morning? Glad you are enjoying your knitting.
Time, I moved and got the washing hangout while it still fine. Weather report says showers later in the day.

Have a great day Ladies.

Geeze I wonder if it will ever end.

The nurse isnt coming today, my next check was written is as Tuesday 27th.. So of course the computer took it as Wednesday cos that is the 27th.

So Ive waited to hear from them, when I could have nipped up the road and done my blood, and got a couple of things we needed.

Its horrid out there so we will go without, and Ill go up tomorrow after the nurse has been. I asked for a morning appointment.

Its no sence going up there now to do my bloods as I wouldnt get the results till tomorrow anyway.

Glad MrS is home Sunflowers.. Good idea being able to order in dinner. I think the only one you can do that here with is Indian, and we dont eat that.

Morning Everyone

From a very chilly white Waiuku.. I think its the heaviest frost we have had in 14 years up here. The Temp gauge said 0.0 outside and 10.0 inside when I first woke up.. but now its almost a tropical 1.4 outside lol and the fire/heater is bring the temp up.. Will be a beautiful day tho.

Fave Nurse should be here soon to check the vaccc etc... It well and truely earnt its name at 1am this morning. Some of the crystals bunged the tank up, so I had to get the intstruction book and see what I had to do.. Why on earth they make the text so small these days I dont know lol.

Im near the top of the pantaloons.. And really enjoying knitting again.

Had a bit of a saddy last night, but back to normal again..

Have a fab day everyone and please be careful on the roads.. It looks like we have ice on our corner.

morning ladies :) We've got the best frost of the year so far this morning. At least -3 but a beautiful sunny day to go with it. I've been out and topped up the waxeye's food, I can get really close to them now. The sugar water has frozen lol but they are still munching the grapefruit and bird puddings.

I am hoping to get to the fibre exhibition in Cambridge at some stage this week, more than likely tomorrow.

I've started knitting another square for the throw, I'm still unsure of the colourway but MrK loves it so it will be a keeper. I'll take a pic of the square so you can see the cables, it takes nearly a full 100gram skein of yarn. I've knitted 12 rows of the second square still using the first skein with enough left to knit a couple more so it will be interesting to see how far it goes.

Happy knitting :)

Got a jigsaw out last night and set it up on my small craft table for Mr S. in the lounge. So no knitting. Need to do some in daylight as it's dark colours.
Out today and look for some Curtains for the ranch door in the kitchen. Needs to be replaced as soon as.

Morning ladies, was really cold here last night so I lit the fire and it soon warmed up.

Yesterday morning I decided that I needed to bring more firewood up but I discovered on Sunday when I pruned the plum trees that the steps are very slippery and dangerous, so they needed waterblasting. So that was the plan yesterday morning. I no sooner got set up with the waterblaster than it started to rain, lightly at first, and got heavier and by the time I had about 5 steps left to do I was cold and wet, so I abandoned the job and by the time I'd put everything away, it had stopped raining and the sun was shining. Course the first thing I did was yank on the hose, which didn't unravel but the hose reel fell over and broke. So now I need a new hose reel. Won't be getting the same type, it's useless. Every time I try to move it the handle comes off.

Off to knit and natter shortly and then when I come back I plan to finish waterblasting the steps and bring some firewood up, and then I'm out tonight for a farewell get-together with the neighbours and have to take a plate and something to "slurp" was the message we all received. So I will bake some sausage rolls and make a pizza. A while back I bought an electric pizza maker, it's like an electric frying pan but has a stone base and an element in the lid. Makes lovely pizzas, cooks them in just a few minutes and the base stays nice and crispy.

Right, I must get organised.

Have a super day everyone.

But my mission is complete, I got 4 little books, a colouring book, a wooden jigsaw and some plastic letters and wooden blocks that all join like puzzles... Ive always been known for buying educational toys lol... Missy has just knocked it all over lol, she got a fright gave me a filthy look like I had tipped them over lol.. Cheeky mare.

A play here and then back to the Pantaloons.

Am hoping to catch up with some knitting later today but if it is fine, I could just be outside.

Happy knitting :)

Good Morning everyone
It ended up being a warm sunny day weather wise with washing dried on the line. Today looks like the same.
Like you kiwimade we went down to the beach as well. Have a couple of spots that we both like. I went for a long walk around the area and returned to the car with coffee. Timber Wharf is piled high at present with logs to be shipped offshore. Very little of it is dressed timber.
Enjoyed your photos. Thanks for sharing.

Popeye you are starting to have more good days and getting around a lot more. Just go easy. Good to hear you are enjoying knitting at present.
Slow start today Mr S had a bad night and is ok this morning. He asked me what I would like to do today. Not sure some housework this morning. Fingers crossed they come today to mow the lawns. Been over 3 weeks since they were done.
Better move and hang out the washing as it does not hang itself out...
Have a great and stay warm and dry.

Morning ladies, woke to thick fog this morning, but it has lifted and is now a very sunny still day, but cold.

No plans for today. I might take a friend to visit her mum in the rest home, other than that it will be tidying up and maybe start packing.

Last nights farewell do was good fun, nice food, wine, good company. I am very blessed to have such good neighbours who have become good friends.

I have a few niggly little knitting jobs I want to sort out and finish before I go, and I need to sort out what to take with me in the way of knitting/crochet. I'm not sure how much to take, or how much I will get done while I'm away, but I know there will be times when I will want to do some. Might have to be basically "no think" stuff, or "not much think"

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
A light fog here today.
Not alot to report, but I did finally finish the Pantaloons last night. Helped by the fact that I had a good sleep in the afternoon to recover from the shopping lol. The weight of the vacc really bends my bones out of joint. I have always used a back pack type handbag to keep my spine straight. The strap on the vacc isnt long wnough to do that so its bending me wrong lol..
A quiet day at home today.. Nurse (not my fave) is coming later to change my foam. I had to patch a leak this morning.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning ladies, I started sorting out things to take with me yesterday but so far they are all just piled up on the empty side of the bed. I will get a little heater out of the sewing room later and put in the bedroom to warm it up and then I will try everything on to make sure it fits. No point in taking stuff I can't wear. Then maybe Sunday I will start packing.

Last night I went to a quiz night at the Golf Club. Again we came second. One of the questions we debated about the answer "Henry became a father at 111 years of age - what was Henry?" We tossed up between parrot, turtle or tortoise, then I suggested tuatara. The team leader wrote down tuatara then crossed it out and put tortoise. Henry was a tuatara. Rats. If we had got that we would have tied for first, not for second. So a tie breaker - who knew that Wellington used to be called "the devils bellows". Not me, but I guessed, thinking Windy Wellington - bellows create wind for the fire. Yep. The other teams who were tied put Rotorua.
Quite good fun. I will miss the next one.

I'd better get cracking. I'm off to the Friday session of knit and natter and tomorrow a group of us are going to one in Kerikeri, at the local wool shop.

The power has just gone off for a few seconds, which is quite annoying as I now have to reset everything.

Have a super day everyone.

Good Morning, the sun is warming up everything after a good frost this morning. Mr S didn't have a good night so was awake earlier this morning for a couple of hours. All good now.

A friend dropped some tickets off for the next two film afternoons. The Land Girls . A group of ladies makes lovely patchwork quilts for newborn babies in HB. Asked if I had in bright 8ply wool as they are hoping to add a knitted item with the quilts. Will look for some over the w/ end, also cheek on my yarn I have stored. Finished a hat last night for one of the kids next, door two more to go.I'll go back to my own knitting.

Hope you get your clothes sorted for your trip Kuaka. From all accounts, I hear its very hot at present. Hope you are able to enjoy some of the great weather they are having at present.
Have a great day.

sunflowers, I believe that by the time we get to the UK the heatwave will have finished! Last time I was there (right on the south coast) my sister put on a bbq for friends and family, we sat out in the garden in winter clothes (I had a winter jersey on and a mohair shawl), with blankets on our laps until we nearly froze, we went indoors, bro-in-law cooked the bbq in the kitchen and he lit the fire. That was the last weekend of August!

morning ladies :) Omg that sounds cold kuaka! The packing will happen, it's hard deciding what to and what not to take.

I'm going to the Cambridge Wool & Fibre Festival this morning, finally have a chance to go. And sometime next week MrK and I are going to Hamilton to help our son with his motorcycle - well, MrK is going to help, I'll hang around for a bit. I need to go because if we are late back I will have to drive as MrK is no longer driving at night.

The next fine day we have I'll be out pruning the roses and digging the holes for the new roses which arrive next month.

Knitting sometime today for sure.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone

Kuaka you remnded me of my last day in Perth.. we had been having stinker hot days in the high 30s, but I was freezing the night before I left. To the point of borrowing my brothers jumper and thick work socks lol.. But it got worse, when we were coming into land in Auckland the captain informed us it was very cold and foggy lol.. A friend picked me up and dashed me home to get in front of the fire lol.

Have fun at the Fibre festival Kiwimade.. A nice short break for you.

Ive got a beef casserole in the crockpot already, but I have to nip up to get our prescriptions this morning so might get a few mushrooms to throw in there too. MrP will love it.

A friend picked me up our pork from the mad butcher yesterday.. The butcher must have known us lol I asked it he could cut it into 2 person roasts.. We have 3 2 kilo roasts lol.. My stepfather always said we were like Puppy dogs cos we like meat lol.. but they will feed us a few meals each. Ill make gravy and rfreeze some for later .

Doing the petticoat for the caroler now.. For some reason my facebook wouldnt work last night so I got more knitting done.

will venture over there and see if it is working yet.

Have a fab day everyone..

Edit to add. its amazing what the difference is in my wound for 6 days. I forgot to take a photo yesterday but will do it on monday

Good Morning Ladies. Cool start this morning now the sun is coming out and we in for a warm day. Some gardening later in the day and tidy up the roses now the lawns got mowed yesterday.

I have a stitch artist friend calling to put up some bits and pieces of clothing and fabric for her artwork. So will keep busy and warm today.

Planning on knitting some fingerless mittens for Mr S as his hands and fingers are getting so cold. Should not take to long to knit up. He looked out some wool for them the other day.

Hope you enjoy your outing to Cambridge this morning Kiwimake. The traders have been very busy. A friend emailed me last night while waiting.
for her yarn to dry after dyeing more for today trading.

Hope everyone has a great day and stays warm. Happy crafting.

morning ladies :) Am gutted, I never made it to the festival. One thing led to another and I didn't make it. There is another one in Tauranga at the end of the month so I'll go to that.

Happy knitting :)

Morning Everyone, Things happen kiwimade and you miss out on events. I know it happens to me more so since Mr S been sick. You got Tauranga next month you can go too. Save more $'s now.
Had rough night so a slow start this morning, off to finish my roses and deadhead some other plants. Weather is rain later in the day.

Good news your vac pump is cleaning up your wound Popeye. Look forward to seeing your knitting.
Time to move or it will be raining and no gardening today.
Have a Great Day Ladies.

Morning everyone

Ohh Kiwimade, thats dissapointing. But yep hopefully you will get to the next festival.
Have discovered a icky spot onmy wound where its gunky again. No wonder its been sore the last couple of days. it will be changed tomorrow thank goodness. This change hasnt been a comfortable one thats for sure.

Getting through the toy bits, but just about against the brick wall. Need a friend to help me, cos I have a stand of plastic crates sitting in front of the green wool pantry, and I need two of the greens that are in there. Im methodical and I like to work through the list as it is in the book. So hopefully sometime today we can get in there.

Grey old day here but oddlt even at only 13-0 inside its not really that cold.

Asked MrP what he wanted to do for his birthday on friday. he said get some fish and chips and go to the beach or something. So thats nice and simple.

Have a fab day everyone

Dad's tablet died so we went into Noel Leeming this morning and he bought a new one. So my day has been putting all his apps back onto the tablet for him. But I did manage to prune half of the roses and the waxeyes couldn't care less that I was working close to their feeding station. They didn't even care that the Furry One was with me. So they must be becoming used to us moving about outside. I counted around a dozen of the little guys this morning :)

Right-o, will get this app downloaded for dad and then do some knitting :)

Oh how lovely Kiwimade re the Waxeyes. Thats an ultimate trust eh..

Sadly in this world there are sooo many people who never interact with the nature out our own doors.

I have to make another mix for the birds here too.. They have eaten a big dish of it.
Id rather pay for birdseed to feed them right than blow them up with bread.

Not good re the tablet, but pleased you were able to get it sorted.

morning ladies :) yeah, it's very cool being able to get so close to the birds. Mind you, I can set my camera to closeup too so if they are nervous I can stand back a fair distance. I find I am topping up their fruit twice a day now, they adore pears and kiwifruit and I put grapefruit out too. Dad's friend has a massive grapefruit tree and we get to raid it every year. I have three large buckets of grapefruit to squeeze today for juice and freeze.

I'll do some baking today after juicing the fruit then knitting I think.

happy knitting :)
